00:02:38.700 Congresswoman Sheila Serphilis-McCormick, a Democrat from Florida and several co-defendants,
00:02:46.420 indicted Wednesday by a federal grand jury out of Miami.
00:02:49.620 The Fed's accusing the group of stealing FEMA disaster funds and laundering the money into
00:02:54.780 her 2021 congressional campaign.
00:02:57.740 According to the indictment, the family health care company operated by Serphilis-McCormick
00:03:01.960 and her brother Edwin received a $5 million overpayment on a FEMA COVID vaccine staffing
00:03:08.400 contract back in July of 2021.
00:03:11.560 Prosecutors alleged the siblings conspired to steal the funds, diverting it through multiple
00:03:16.840 accounts to hide the source.
00:03:19.300 Staffer Najaj LeBlanc, also indicted in the alleged scheme, Southern District of Florida prosecutors,
00:03:25.220 alleging the defendants funneled the extra money to friends and relatives, who then donated
00:03:29.540 it back to the campaign.
00:03:31.280 Tax preparer David Spencer, charged with conspiring to file a false tax return, from the Justice
00:03:37.640 Department press relief, quote, they falsely claimed political spending and other personal
00:03:41.980 expenses as business deductions and inflated charitable contributions in order to reduce
00:03:47.640 her tax obligations.
00:03:49.720 The Congresswoman yesterday releasing a statement saying, quote, this is an unjust, baseless, sham
00:03:54.480 indictment, and I am innocent.
00:03:56.120 The timing alone is curious and clearly meant to distract from far more pressing national
00:04:01.320 issues.
00:04:02.360 Also yesterday, the Congresswoman relinquishing her leadership position on a foreign affairs
00:04:06.780 subcommittee as Democratic caucus rules require any indicted representatives to step down from
00:04:12.620 leadership positions.
00:04:13.920 The state of Florida suing Trinity Health Services, of which the Congresswoman was the CEO in December
00:04:19.940 2024 for refusing to turn over $5 million in overcharges.
00:04:24.960 The Washington Post reporting the Congresswoman settled the lawsuit, agreeing to pay back the
00:04:29.740 funds over the next 19 years.
00:04:31.940 These charges are not the only trouble she faces, though.
00:04:34.260 In a separate ongoing matter, in 2024, the Office of Congressional Conduct referring Sheffelis
00:04:39.360 McCormick to the House Ethics Committee for investigation from the referral.

00:04:44.060 There is substantial reason to believe that she requested community project funding that
00:04:48.760 would be directed to a for-profit entity.
00:04:51.580 She, at the time, also denied any wrongdoing.
00:04:54.140 The Congresswoman now faces up to 53 years in prison if convicted on all the charges related
00:05:00.060 to the alleged FEMA scheme.
00:05:03.080 With the Epstein Files bill now in the rearview mirror, Democrats quickly shifting their focus
00:05:07.680 to a new political flashpoint, a hypothetical illegal order given by President Trump to the
00:05:13.180 military.
00:05:13.660 President Trump reacting to a video posted by six Democratic lawmakers on Tuesday urging
00:05:18.320 members of the U.S. military and intelligence community to refuse illegal orders and, quote,
00:05:24.320 don't give up the ship.

00:08:22.920 to members of the national security apparatus, encouraging them to defy the president's lawful

00:08:37.860 I know the DOJ and the Pentagon are looking into the legality of all that, but what I

00:09:37.900 that threatening death for people you disagree with is beyond the pale of who we are as Americans.
00:09:44.200 For me, I believe in the power of this country and that we are better than our current politics

00:11:03.180 interview with Breitbart News.
00:11:04.340 On that latest jobs report, the September numbers just released yesterday due to that government
00:11:09.640 shutdown causing a delay showed better-than-expected gains of 119,000 jobs, breaking a two-month
00:11:16.900 downward trend.
00:11:17.820 Unemployment remaining relatively flat, taking up by a 0.1 to 4.4 percent, the highest level
00:11:25.040 since October of 2021.
00:11:27.680 Mr. Vance saying the report underscores the strength of Donald Trump's policies.
00:11:32.040 So a huge jobs report, and I assume the market is going crazy right now, probably just opened,
00:11:37.420 because what this shows is that the Trump economic policies are actually working.
00:11:41.580 And you've got 119,000 new jobs.
00:11:43.480 Economists thought that we would have about 50,000 new jobs, but that's actually just the
00:11:47.280 headline number.
00:11:48.480 If you look below the surface, I think the numbers are actually better.
00:11:51.100 So number one, wages continue to way outpace inflation.
00:11:55.320 If you go back to the three years of the Biden administration, the average American worker
00:11:59.500 actually lost about $3,000 of take-home pay.
00:12:02.460 In the first 10 months of the Trump economy, we've increased take-home pay by about $1,200
00:12:07.040 adjusting for inflation.
00:12:08.580 So that's a huge, huge thing, and this jobs report confirms that.
00:12:11.940 Now turning to immigration, VP Vance asked about recent comments made by Pope Leo XIV,
00:12:17.960 the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, last week releasing a rare statement
00:12:21.680 criticizing the Trump administration's mass deportations effort, quote,
00:12:25.800 we are disturbed when we see among our people a climate of fear and anxiety around questions
00:12:31.000 of profiling and immigration enforcement.
00:12:34.100 Many conservatives taking issue with the bishops, saying that statement sounds more like
00:12:38.180 a demand to accept an unending wave of mass migration.
00:12:41.940 And earlier this week, Pope Leo himself offering a more nuanced statement, somewhat, though,
00:12:46.900 echoing the bishops.
00:12:47.580 I appreciate very much what the bishops have said.
00:12:51.680 I think it's a very important statement.
00:12:53.840 I would invite, especially all Catholics, but people of goodwill to listen carefully to what
00:12:59.380 they said.
00:13:00.280 If people are in the United States illegally, there are ways to treat that.
00:13:04.680 There are courts.
00:13:05.580 There is a system of justice.
00:13:06.920 No one has said that the United States should have open borders.
00:13:10.120 I think every country has a right to determine who and how and when people enter.
00:13:17.480 But when people are living good lives, and many of them for 10, 15, 20 years, to treat them
00:13:23.880 in a way that is extremely disrespectful, to say the least.
00:13:28.020 The vice president of practicing Catholic, reacting.
00:13:31.040 The Catholic Church's views on this are actually quite clear.
00:13:34.880 And it's that, yes, you must treat immigrants humanely.
00:13:38.440 On the other hand, every nation has the right to control its borders.
00:13:41.640 And obviously, how you strike that balance is very important.
00:13:44.580 We ignored how open borders were not actually good for the dignity, even of the illegal migrants

00:13:51.180 You had little kids getting sex trafficked.
00:13:53.260 Border security is not just good for American citizens.
00:13:56.400 It is the humanitarian thing to do for the entire world.
00:13:59.740 Because when you empower the cartels, and when you empower the human traffickers, whether
00:14:05.000 in the United States or anywhere else, you're empowering the very worst people in the world.
00:14:09.780 It's almost like Europe and America got this idea in their head that to control your border
00:14:15.980 at all was fundamentally uncompassionate.

00:14:24.820 So putting the interests of your citizens first, it's not some ancillary thing.

00:14:32.160 DHS announcing in October more than 527,000 deportations since the start of the second
00:14:38.300 Trump administration, as well as 1.6 million self-deportations.
00:14:44.420 Now, this is a crazy story.
00:14:46.160 A former congressional staffer of Republican U.S.
00:14:48.880 Congressman from New Jersey, Jeff Van Drew, charged with staging a violent political attack
00:14:53.440 against herself.
00:14:55.340 According to the federal criminal complaint out of the District of New Jersey, 26-year-old
00:14:59.660 Natalie Green is charged with one count of conspiracy to convey false statements and hoaxes,
00:15:05.500 and one count of making false statements to a federal law enforcement official.
00:15:08.700 Late on July 23, 2025, Green's unnamed co-conspirators are calling 9-1-1, telling officers they had
00:15:16.140 been attacked by three men while walking on a wooded nature trail in Egg Harbor Township.
00:15:22.500 The co-conspirator telling the 9-1-1 operator, quote,
00:15:25.420 I came here with my friend and three guys just attacked us.
00:15:28.640 They were attacking her.
00:15:29.700 They were like talking about politics and stuff.
00:15:32.080 They were like calling her names.
00:15:33.640 And they said if we don't be quiet, they were going to shoot us.
00:15:36.360 Police arriving on the scene led to Green by the co-conspirator, officers discovering
00:15:40.920 Green laying on the ground, her feet and hands bound by black zip ties, her shirt pulled over
00:15:46.340 her head.
00:15:47.180 From the complaint, again quoting, when the officers found Green, she had numerous lacerations
00:15:51.360 on her right side, including her face, neck, upper chest, and shoulder.
00:15:55.620 The words, Trump whore, were written on her stomach, and Van Drew is a racist was written
00:16:00.540 on her back with a black marker.
00:16:02.860 Green was brought to a hospital for treatment in a later interview with investigators.
00:16:06.360 Green described routine threats received by Congressman Van Drew's office, where she
00:16:11.640 worked.
00:16:12.580 Officers searching her vehicle, discovering black zip ties similar to the ones used on
00:16:17.560 Green.
00:16:18.520 Further investigation leading detectives to a scarification artist, which is exactly what
00:16:24.500 it sounds like, a person who cuts into a client's body to intentionally create scars.
00:16:29.020 In Pennsylvania, hours before the alleged attack, a receipt from the body modification shop,
00:16:34.220 revealing Green paid 500 bucks in cash and signed a waiver for, quote, scarification.
00:16:40.380 There's a new vocabulary word for everybody.
00:16:42.600 The federal complaint does not identify Congressman Van Drew by name, but a spokesman for the
00:16:47.240 Congressman's office confirms that Green is a former employee, quote, while Natalie is
00:16:51.560 no longer associated with the Congressman's government office, our thoughts and prayers are with
