00:00:17.680 Good morning, everyone. I'm Megan Kelly. It's Friday, June 19th, 2026, and this is your AM
00:00:23.500 Update. The alleged mastermind behind the White House UFC attack plot identified as an illegal
00:00:29.820 immigrant from Mexico. The Obama deal allowed the accumulation of stockpiled weapons-grade
00:00:35.380 material. Ours is actually leading to the destruction of that stockpile. Vice President
00:00:40.480 J.D. Vance defending the new Iran agreement, confronting critics at home and abroad as
00:00:46.160 negotiations toward a final deal are set to begin. He later recalled reciting a simple prayer,
00:00:52.300 Jesus, Mary, get me there, just get me there. President Trump recognizing three men today,
00:00:58.700 awarding them the nation's highest military honor for their extraordinary acts of valor.
00:01:04.460 And 2 million Knicks fans flooding lower Manhattan,
00:01:08.120 celebrating a championship win decades in the making.
00:01:11.620 All that and more coming up in just a moment on your AM Update.

00:02:45.340 Agency, LLC, a licensed insurance agency. The alleged ringleader of the explosive drone
00:02:53.600 and sniper plot targeting Sunday's White House UFC event is a 31-year-old illegal immigrant
00:03:00.140 from Mexico, according to the Department of Homeland Security. The Justice Department
00:03:04.780 charging Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez and four other men earlier this week with plotting a
00:03:10.880 mass casualty attack targeting government officials and thousands of spectators at UFC
00:03:16.480 Freedom 250. According to federal court filings, the plot calling for explosive drones to drive
00:03:22.160 spectators and government officials toward waiting snipers, while a second group allegedly
00:03:27.300 prepared to storm the White House gates. The group allegedly preparing for months,
00:03:32.540 developing maps, escape routes, and plans for a safe house before the mother of one participant
00:03:38.440 learned of the plot and alerted authorities. DHS telling Fox News Alvarez came to the U.S.
00:03:44.460 as a child, remaining in the country after his visitor visa expired in 2001 and later receiving
00:03:50.840 protection from deportation through the Obama-era DACA program. News Nation reporting his DACA
00:03:57.840 status has been revoked following his arrest, ICE also lodging an immigration detainer against him.
00:04:04.780 The FBI taking Alvarez into custody on the day of the fight at an old church near the town of
00:04:10.120 western Nebraska, which he allegedly selected as a safe zone for himself and his co-conspirators,
00:04:16.260 reports local outlet WOWT-TV. Alvarez, with thick, curly, dark hair and a full beard,
00:04:24.500 seen grinning in his mugshot wearing an orange jail uniform. According to the charges filed
00:04:30.400 in Nebraska, the FBI identifying Alvarez as Shepard in the group's encrypted chats,
00:04:36.320 accusing him of planning, organizing, and directing the attack. In one message,
00:04:40.660 Alvarez allegedly instructing members where to position sniper and drone teams,
00:04:45.500 pointing out a long-range location he described as a great shot with an easy escape toward the
00:04:51.600 river. When another participant discussed building drones carrying explosives, Alvarez
00:04:57.160 allegedly responded, quote, as many and as deadly as we can get. Prosecutors also accused him of
00:05:04.000 telling the group he already had one drone and was working on more. Fox News reporting investigators
00:05:09.940 have identified 23 people within the alleged planning network, though only five arrests have
00:05:16.040 been announced, as federal officials emphasize the investigation is ongoing. The five men arrested
00:05:22.180 so far charged with conspiracy to commit murder, carrying a potential sentence of life in prison
00:05:27.760 and a $250,000 fine. The DOJ also bringing conspiracy charges involving violence on
00:05:34.820 White House grounds. That's an offense carrying up to five years.
00:05:39.940 Vice President J.D. Vance taking a turn behind the White House briefing room lectern yesterday,
00:05:45.580 filling in for Press Secretary Caroline Levitt while she's on maternity leave
00:05:49.060 to defend the administration's newly signed agreement with Iran.
00:05:53.520 The VP opening the briefing by pointing to encouraging progress in the hours since the signing of the agreement.
00:05:59.840 Last night, 12.5 million barrels of oil went through the Strait of Hormuz.
00:06:04.420 That is a high since the beginning of the conflict.
00:06:07.020 Oil prices are down nearly at their level from the pre-war conflict.
00:06:10.700 Gas prices dropped below $4 a gallon today for the first time since the conflict.
00:06:15.620 And importantly, they're going to keep falling further given how low oil prices are.
00:06:20.600 The vice president pressed on Iran's ballistic missile program
00:06:23.640 after President Trump acknowledged at the G7 that the regime would retain some missiles for self-defense.
00:06:30.940 That concession angering some of the more fervent war hawks, Mr. Vance responding.
00:06:36.420 So we destroyed a substantial number of their ballistic missiles and their
00:06:40.040 ballistic missile launchers themselves. It's not just the bullets, but it's the actual gun.
00:06:45.160 And that's what we were extremely effective at in destroying during the last three months of
00:06:49.220 the campaign. All the president said yesterday is that, of course, countries don't give up the
00:06:55.380 right of self-defense. Israel doesn't give up the right of self-defense if Hezbollah fires rockets
00:07:00.100 or drones at Israel. The Iranians don't give up the right of self-defense in their country,
00:07:05.460 but we do expect that as part of the final deal, they are not going to be able to build the kind 0.98
00:07:10.380 of missiles that can broadly threaten the entire world. And that's what the President of the United
00:07:14.780 States said yesterday. What we want to see is Iran not funding regional instability,
00:07:20.340 funding regional terrorism, and of course, try to rebuild their nuclear weapons program.
00:07:24.200 Secretary of War Pete Hegseth declaring in March that Tehran's ballistic missile production capacity
00:07:29.780 had been, quote, functionally defeated, leaving Iran with some missiles but severely limiting
00:07:35.280 its ability to replace them. Mr. Vance also rejecting the claim that President Trump has
00:07:40.400 simply revived the Obama-era Iran deal under a different name. Number one, the Gulf Coast
00:07:47.400 coalition loves this deal because they think that it makes Iran weaker. They hated the Obama deal
00:07:52.820 because they thought that it made Iran stronger. They know more about this and they have more to
00:07:56.660 lose than anybody, including the United States of America, so I trust their judgment. Now,
00:08:01.400 there are all these substantive differences as well. The Obama nuclear deal allowed enrichment.
00:08:06.020 Ours will not. The Obama deal allowed the accumulation of stockpiled weapons-grade
00:08:10.540 material. Ours is actually leading to the destruction of that stockpile of enriched
00:08:15.120 material. So there are many differences. The Obama deal gave them over a billion dollars
00:08:18.500 of American money. This deal gives them zero dollars of American money.
00:08:24.380 Vice President Vance arguing the MOU is the foundation of what will hopefully lead to a
00:08:29.220 wider peace in the region, but only if all sides, including Hezbollah and Israel, show restraint.
00:08:35.840 We expect Hezbollah is not going to be firing rockets and firing drones at the Israelis.
00:08:40.400 And we also expect that the Israelis are not going to be going wild in Lebanon, right? Both sides
00:08:44.700 have to honor their end of the deal. Now, as you guys know, sometimes these ceasefires
00:08:48.500 are a little messy. The President of the United States said this a couple of weeks ago, that
00:08:52.720 a ceasefire in that region of the world just means they're shooting a little bit less at each other
00:08:56.860 than they were before. What you've seen is radical progress in Lebanon, less shooting,
00:09:02.680 less firing, but you're still going to have these little flare ups from time to time. And that's
00:09:06.640 just the sort of thing that we're going to have to manage through the diplomatic process. And
00:09:10.440 eventually what we want to see is the Lebanese government, the elected representatives of the
00:09:14.660 people of Lebanon who are able to police Southern Lebanon so that Hezbollah has not taken over the
00:09:19.960 country. The Israelis are not threatened. And then consequently, the Israelis are not attacking
00:09:24.640 southern Lebanon or Beirut either. Vice President Vance also taking aim at Israeli cabinet members
00:09:30.780 who have been attacking the deal and President Trump. Donald J. Trump is the only head of state
00:09:37.680 in the entire world who is sympathetic to the nation of Israel at this moment in time. And he
00:09:44.460 happens to be the head of state of the world's superpower. If I was in the cabinet of the Israeli
00:09:49.380 government, I might not be attacking the only powerful ally that I have anywhere left in the
00:09:55.880 entire world. And the second message I would give to some of those cabinet members, Bibi,
00:10:00.360 to his credit, has not gone down this path. But to some of these cabinet members in Israel who
00:10:04.860 are attacking the president of the United States, the other thing that I would say is that over the
00:10:08.800 last three months, two thirds of the defensive weapons that have protected your homeland have
00:10:15.180 been built by American hands and paid for by American tax dollars. The problem for Israel 0.65
00:10:21.060 is not Donald J. Trump. And anybody in Israel who thinks their biggest problem is the president of
00:10:27.060 the United States needs to wake up and smell the reality of the situation that country is in.
00:10:33.180 The VP telling reporters that with the MOU officially signed, the difficult work of negotiating
00:10:38.760 a final deal could begin in Switzerland as soon as this weekend, with his own travel plans depending
00:10:44.720 on when the Iranian delegation can arrive. Coming up, President Trump presenting three
00:10:51.520 American service members' Medals of Honor in a White House ceremony. And the Knicks
00:10:56.620 take over Lower Manhattan, celebrating their first NBA title since 1973.
00:11:02.080 three. Feeling sluggish, bloated, not quite like yourself? Life constantly bombards us
00:11:15.320 with silent threats, processed foods, artificial light, nonstop stress, all of which can disrupt
00:11:20.940 gut health, drain energy, and weaken immune health. When that happens, it's not that your
00:11:25.900 body is broken. It's that it might be missing the right inputs. That's why I want to tell you
00:11:30.880 about Armra Cholestrum.
00:11:32.580 It's packed with more than 400 bioactive nutrients
00:11:35.080 that they say can work at a foundational level
00:11:37.720 to fortify gut health, support immune health,
00:11:40.980 fuel recovery, and promote whole body vitality.

00:12:13.140 President Trump hosting a Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House yesterday,
00:12:17.880 awarding three American service members for extraordinary acts of courage,
00:12:22.340 two in Vietnam, one in Afghanistan.
00:12:25.240 The Medal of Honor, the nation's highest military decoration,
00:12:28.480 awarded to members of the U.S. Armed Forces distinguishing themselves through acts of
00:12:33.800 valor above and beyond the call of duty, risking their own lives in combat against enemy forces.
00:12:40.520 The first recipient retired Marine Major James Capers Jr., born into a family of sharecroppers
00:12:46.700 before enlisting in the Marine Corps and eventually going on to become one of the
00:12:50.580 most decorated Marines in U.S. history. Capers becoming the first Black enlisted Marine to
00:12:56.540 earn a battlefield commission, rising into the officer ranks while serving in combat and the
00:13:02.360 first Black officer to lead a Marine recon company. Capers deepened Vietnamese jungles in 1967,
00:13:09.480 leading an elite nine-man recon team known as Team Broad-Minded, tasked with locating an enemy base.
00:13:16.980 Over the course of four days, the outnumbered team repeatedly repelling attacks and killing
00:13:21.560 more than 200 enemy fighters. On the final day of battle, the Marines ambushed by a claymore mine
00:13:27.860 and a relentless barrage of enemy fire. Capers sent flying into a tree, suffering a massive
00:13:34.700 abdominal injury, a badly broken leg, and shrapnel wounds in 17 places. Despite the extensive
00:13:41.660 injuries and tremendous blood loss, Capers continuing to lead after every Marine under
00:13:47.280 his command had been wounded. President Trump describes what happened next, referring to capers
00:13:52.640 here as Jim. Jim Rose, pushing forward on a leg that shouldn't have been able to carry any of his
00:13:59.480 weight. After a shot of morphine, Jim asserted command of the firefight he took over like
00:14:06.820 nobody's ever seen before. Barely clinging to consciousness, he called in close air support
00:14:13.740 for an entire hour. Very dangerous. It was sometimes a little bit too close.
00:14:20.200 And it was the only force strong enough to repel the onslaught of a lot of very tough soldiers on
00:14:27.000 the other side. Once an extraction helicopter reached his team, Jim loaded his wounded men
00:14:33.440 first before finally loading himself. When the helicopter groaned under the weight of his entire
00:14:40.380 team too many people. He attempted to deplane, but his team physically held him back, refusing
00:14:47.220 to leave their leader behind. Major Capers accepting the Medal of Honor in person nearly
00:14:52.760 five decades after retiring from active duty in 1978, following 22 years of service.
00:15:00.060 The next Medal of Honor awarded posthumously to retired Marine Colonel John W. Ripley.
00:15:05.120 On April 2, 1972, more than 30,000 North Vietnamese troops backed by 200 tanks and
00:15:12.520 other heavy equipment preparing to advance into South Vietnam, their route taking them across a
00:15:18.320 bridge, one that would have carried the invasion deeper into South Vietnam but for the extraordinary
00:15:23.620 actions of then-Captain John Ripley. The only prayer of stopping the assault? Destroying the
00:15:30.300 bridge. South Vietnamese engineers had stockpiled more than 500 pounds of explosives nearby,
00:15:36.780 but only one man had the experience to place them. Ripley reaching for the first load of explosives.
00:15:43.600 Everyone said, don't do it, John, don't do it. He grabbed the steel girders above his head and
00:15:49.220 hand over hand, he climbed dangling beneath the bridge and over the rushing water with a lot of
00:15:56.480 very angry people watching him, completely exposed to withering enemy gunfire. John
00:16:03.480 completed not one, not two, but five such trips. He's a strong guy, a very strong guy.
00:16:12.960 At one point, John remembers a tank round blasting into the bridge and knocking him
00:16:18.380 temporarily unconscious. For five straight hours, he hauled explosives, placed charges,
00:16:24.240 and ran a primer cord to each one of them.
00:16:28.940 He later recalled reciting a simple prayer,
00:16:31.300 Jesus, Mary, get me there, just get me there.
00:16:35.620 When John detonated the explosives,
00:16:37.980 the bridge collapsed into the river,
00:16:40.040 crushing the advance and saved the hope 0.99
00:16:42.600 of a free Vietnam for Easter morning.
00:16:46.380 Colonel Ripley retiring from active duty in 1992
00:16:49.240 and passing away in 2008.
00:16:51.700 his sons, grandsons, and daughter-in-law attending the ceremony on his behalf.
00:16:58.220 And finally, Army Major Nicholas Dockery awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions
00:17:02.460 on October 2, 2012 in Afghanistan.
00:17:06.120 Then, 2nd Lieutenant Dockery leading a platoon tasked with guarding a governor's compound
00:17:11.340 when 150 Taliban fighters launched a surprise attack,
00:17:15.960 President Trump recounting the extraordinary series of actions that followed.
00:17:19.840 Nick did a quick headcount and realized one of his team members was still missing, Sergeant Jack Hansbrough.
00:17:27.340 Nick rushed through the compound until he found the sergeant being dragged unconscious through an alleyway by two Taliban fighters with very bad intentions.
00:17:38.620 Nick eliminated both terrorists in close quarters, then pulled Sergeant Hansbrough back to cover, but found he was not breathing.
00:17:45.580 So urgently, Nick administered CPR until the sergeant's heart kicked back in.
00:17:53.920 As mortar fire thundered down all around them, Nick covered his incapacitated teammate with his own body, shielding him from further injury.
00:18:02.780 In his final act of unbelievable valor that day, Nick climbed his way to the open roof where he was again vulnerable to Taliban gunfire at highest levels.
00:18:13.840 He signaled enemy positions with smoke grenades, allowing American gunships to come to the platoon's rescue.
00:18:22.640 Dockery, the last man to depart the battlefield after four hours of relentless fighting.
00:18:28.000 He went on to become an Army Green Beret before retiring earlier this year.
00:18:33.840 Approximately two million New York Knicks fans packing lower Manhattan yesterday morning,
00:18:38.560 decked out in orange and blue, celebrating the team's first NBA championship win since 1973.
00:18:46.600 The newly crowned champions parading down the Canyon of Heroes with roughly one and a half
00:18:51.480 tons of recycled paper raining down from the high rises above. The Knicks repeatedly battling back
00:18:57.960 from steep deficits throughout their championship run, including game four of the finals, the
00:19:03.640 miracle at MSG when they slowly chipped away at the San Antonio Spurs' 29-point lead to eventually
00:19:11.140 win the game by one point. The team doing it again in Game 5, erasing a 16-point deficit
00:19:18.500 to clinch the championship on the road 94-90. Fans beginning to line up Wednesday night,
00:19:25.980 camping out for hours before the viewing pens opened at 6 a.m. Those pens filling in less than
00:19:32.220 two hours according to the nypd with the parade still hours away jubilant fans speaking to fox

00:20:06.460 The celebration not entirely painless. The FDNY reporting at least 26 people taken to hospitals,
00:20:13.060 with another 16 treated at the scene for minor problems, including several cases of
00:20:17.640 heat-related illness. The parade culminating at City Hall, with Mayor Zoran Mamdani presenting
00:20:23.840 each player with a symbolic key to the city. Nick's point guard and MVP of the NBA Finals,
00:20:31.080 Jalen Brunson, who scored 45 of the 94 total points to win game five, taking the mic.
