00:03:35.720 He died as he lived, a hero.
00:03:39.580 Authorities are withholding the names of the other victims until the families are notified.
00:03:44.260 Consistent with Megyn Kelly's show policy, we do not name mass shooters on AM Update.
00:03:48.640 The shooter here was identified by Commissioner Tisch as a 27-year-old black male from Las Vegas, Nevada.
00:03:56.260 The vehicle he exited is registered in Nevada.
00:03:59.940 Inside of that vehicle, officers found a rifle case with rounds, a loaded revolver, ammunition, and magazines, a backpack, and medication.
00:04:09.400 The vehicle was searched by our bomb squad and found to be clear of any explosives.
00:04:13.840 The initial investigation shows vehicle traveled cross-country through Colorado on July 26th,
00:04:22.700 then Nebraska and Iowa on July 27th, and then in Columbia, New Jersey, as recently as 4.24 p.m. today.
00:04:31.980 The vehicle entered New York City shortly thereafter.
00:04:35.680 Commissioner Tisch describing the rampage, noting the shooter had a license to carry a concealed weapon in Nevada,
00:04:42.020 and, in addition to the revolver found in his car, had an M4 rifle with which he conducted the shootings.
00:04:49.400 Surveillance video shows a male exit a double-parked black BMW on Park Avenue between 51st and 52nd Streets.
00:04:58.340 Carrying an M4 rifle in his right hand, he walks towards the building's entrance.
00:05:04.700 That individual was seen exiting the BMW alone.
00:05:07.800 The building's security camera footage shows the shooter enter the lobby, turn right, and immediately open fire on an NYPD officer.
00:05:17.720 He then shoots a woman who took cover behind a pillar and proceeds through the lobby, spraying it with gunfire.
00:05:25.760 He makes his way to the elevator bank, where he shoots a security guard who was taking cover behind the security desk.
00:05:33.460 One additional male is shot in the lobby, per his own statement from the hospital.
00:05:40.380 The shooter then calls the elevator, which opens in the lobby.
00:05:44.000 A female exits that elevator, and he allows her to walk past him unharmed.
00:05:49.320 He goes up to the 33rd floor, which is Rudin Management, and begins to walk the floor, firing rounds as he traveled.
00:05:58.900 One person was struck and killed on that floor.
00:06:01.380 He then proceeds down a hallway and shoots himself in the chest.
00:06:06.840 The FBI deploying to the scene to assist the NYPD.
00:06:09.920 Initial checks to FBI databases not turning up any additional information about the shooter.
00:06:15.520 A chilling photo circulating on social media showing one office space where workers piled a mountain of furniture across the entryway,
00:06:23.840 barricading themselves in.
00:06:25.840 Employees waiting hours as police methodically swept each floor before they could be released.
00:06:31.540 Authorities believe the shooter acted alone.
00:06:34.320 Beyond his, quote, documented mental health history, no motive has yet been identified.
00:06:39.800 We'll have much more on this later today on The Megyn Kelly Show.
00:06:42.760 President Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance going on offense in separate public appearances,
00:06:50.880 firing back at accusations from legacy media and Democrats suggesting the Trump DOJ is running cover for powerful figures
00:06:58.020 and potentially even child sex abusers by not releasing the remainder of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
00:07:04.740 Vice President Vance speaking at a rally in Canton, Ohio, hitting back hard.
00:07:09.100 The president has been very clear.
00:07:11.180 He wants full transparency.
00:07:13.140 He's asked that from the attorney general.
00:07:14.840 And I know because I talk to her all the time.
00:07:17.080 The attorney general is hard at work on that issue right now.
00:07:19.800 For four years under Joe Biden's Department of Justice, the media didn't give a damn about the Epstein files or about the Epstein case.
00:07:27.100 For 20 years, you had Obama and George W. Bush's Department of Justice go easy on this guy.
00:07:35.020 They didn't fully investigate the case.
00:07:37.040 They didn't show any curiosity about the case.
00:07:38.980 And now Donald J. Trump is asking his Department of Justice to show full transparency.
00:07:43.780 And somehow that's a criticism of Donald J. Trump and not Barack Obama and George W. Bush.
00:07:49.600 Donald J. Trump, I'm telling you, he's got nothing to hide.
00:07:52.700 His administration has got nothing to hide.
00:07:54.740 He's going to keep on being an advocate for full transparency.
00:07:57.740 But while we're focused on that case, Donald J. Trump is also worried about making sure these great workers get more take-home pay and better jobs.
00:08:05.380 And that's the focus of the administration.
00:08:07.200 Meanwhile, President Trump, speaking from Scotland, shedding new light on his fallout with Jeffrey Epstein before the disgraced financier was convicted on two charges of solicitation of prostitution and solicitation of prostitution with a minor, which most people understand to be statutory rape, in a sweetheart deal cut in 2008.
00:08:27.880 For years, I wouldn't talk to Jeffrey Epstein.
00:08:30.380 I wouldn't talk because he did something that was inappropriate.
00:08:32.920 He hired help.
00:08:34.840 And I said, don't ever do that again.
00:08:36.300 And he stole people that worked for me.
00:08:38.680 I said, don't ever do that again.
00:08:40.200 He did it again.
00:08:41.560 And I threw him out of the place.
00:08:43.960 Persona non grata.
00:08:45.620 I threw him out.
00:08:47.200 And that was it.
00:08:48.140 I'm glad I did, if you want to know the truth.
00:08:50.300 And by the way, I never went to the island.
00:08:52.720 And Bill Clinton went there, supposedly, 28 times.
00:08:56.480 I never went to the island.
00:08:58.000 But Larry Summers, I hear, went there.
00:08:59.840 He was the head of Harvard.
00:09:01.180 And many other people that are very big people.
00:09:03.160 Nobody ever talks about them.
00:09:04.480 I never had the privilege of going to his island.
00:09:07.280 And I did turn it down.
00:09:08.540 But a lot of people in Palm Beach were invited to his island.
00:09:11.180 In one of my very good moments, I turned it down.
00:09:13.860 I didn't want to go to his island.
00:09:15.640 President Trump also questioning why, if there was any suggestion of wrongdoing tied to his name,
00:09:20.940 the DOJ did not use it against him when they had the chance under the Biden administration,
00:09:25.440 which indicted him twice in cases riddled with legal problems.
00:09:29.600 Those files were run by the worst scum on Earth.
00:09:34.540 They were run by Comey.
00:09:36.400 They were run by Garland.
00:09:38.340 They were run by Biden and all of the people that actually ran the government, including the autopen.
00:09:45.200 Those files were run for four years by those people.
00:09:48.840 If they had anything, I assume they would have released it.
00:09:51.500 The whole thing is a hoax.
00:09:53.380 They ran the files.
00:09:54.660 I was running against somebody that ran the files.
00:09:58.800 If they had something, they would have released.
00:10:01.220 Now, they can easily put something in the files that's a phony.
00:10:05.120 Like, as an example, Christopher Steele, a person you know well, happens to be from your country.
00:10:10.580 But Christopher Steele, as an example, wrote a book, a dossier.
00:10:15.140 We call it the fake news dossier.
00:10:17.140 And the whole thing was a fake.
00:10:19.220 Those files were run by bad, sick people.
00:10:22.920 If they had anything, why didn't they use it when I was killing Joe and then he gave out because he was 25 points down?
00:10:30.720 On Monday, Ghislaine Maxwell's legal team filing a petition with the Supreme Court to overturn her 2021 conviction and 20-year sentence for her role in the Epstein sexual abuse and as an abuser herself.
00:10:43.760 Her attorneys arguing Jeffrey Epstein's 2008 non-prosecution agreement, often described as a sweetheart deal, should have shielded Maxwell from prosecution.
00:10:53.680 According to that agreement, the U.S. Attorney's Office in Florida agreed not to, quote,
00:10:57.920 institute any criminal charges against any potential co-conspirators of Epstein, including, but not limited to, four other associates.
00:11:06.980 Maxwell was not one of the four named, but her legal team argues the deal extends broadly to all potential co-conspirators.
00:11:15.600 The feds contending the agreement is only binding in the Southern District of Florida, where it was negotiated under then-U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta,
00:11:23.360 and therefore is not binding in the Southern District of New York, where Maxwell was tried and convicted.
00:11:27.700 The timeline on when and whether the Supreme Court will weigh in is not yet clear.
00:11:34.220 Coming up, more from President Trump in Scotland weighing in on everything from the war in Gaza to the ugliness of windmills.
00:11:41.820 And a look at how President Trump is bucking traditional diplomatic channels.
00:11:49.900 A lot of people worry about the online platforms and which one to trust for your general online news source, right?
00:11:57.340 They don't know. Most of them are left, and you can't trust them.
00:12:00.380 Some are right, but, you know, you don't want to be manipulated against righties who, like, hate Trump, for example.
00:12:05.640 And this is where ground news comes in.
00:12:08.300 This is an important app you need to know about right now.
00:12:11.360 Unlike other platforms amplifying or suppressing certain narratives to shape your worldview,
00:12:16.040 this is an independent platform pulling in perspectives from across the political spectrum
00:12:20.160 to show you the truth mainstream media will not,
00:12:23.100 with more context than you will find in virtually any other place.
00:12:27.340 I see your comments.
00:12:28.420 I know you're worried about immigration, the economy,
00:12:30.840 simply finding the truth, missing from your online feeds.
00:12:34.480 Well, Ground News is here to help.

00:12:51.720 President Trump meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Scotland on Monday at the Trump Turnberry Resort.
00:13:01.420 The meeting coming on the heels of the Trump administration's latest trade breakthrough.
00:13:05.240 The framework outlining a 15% tariff on imports from the EU alongside an agreement from the EU to purchase $750 billion worth of American energy
00:13:16.460 and to invest an additional $600 billion in America.
00:13:21.000 There would be no reciprocal tariff by the EU on American goods.
00:13:25.080 The deal coming just days ahead of the U.S.-imposed Friday deadline.
00:13:29.400 President Trump referring to it as, quote, the biggest deal ever made.
00:13:33.000 On Monday, Mr. Trump addressing several hot topics, including the latest on the trade deal negotiations with China.
00:13:38.880 I know the media right now, and, you know, we have a good relationship with China.
00:13:43.580 But China's tough, and like you're tough, you know, we're all tough.
00:13:47.860 We're going to see what happens.
00:13:49.140 We made, we just concluded our deal with Japan.
00:13:52.520 It's very good, good for everybody.
00:13:54.580 We're making, you know, great deals.
00:13:56.820 We're making deals that are good for us, but we want them to be good for everybody.
00:14:00.980 I'd love to see China open up their country.
00:14:03.920 We're dealing with China right now, as we speak.
00:14:06.580 Yeah, we're dealing with China right now.
00:14:08.080 President Trump also remarking on the latest efforts in bringing the war in Gaza to an end.
00:14:13.820 Negotiations collapsing last week.
00:14:15.720 Special Envoy Steve Witkoff accusing Hamas of not acting in good faith.
00:14:20.300 Witkoff has been working to restore a ceasefire agreement,
00:14:23.120 but dismissed Hamas' latest proposal as unserious.
00:14:26.740 Though the exact terms of the rejected offer have not been made public.
00:14:30.360 President Trump weighing in on the stalled talks,
00:14:32.600 suggesting Hamas' growing desperation is making them harder to deal with.
00:14:36.460 It's very difficult to deal with Hamas, as I said.
00:14:39.840 You know, we got a tremendous amount of hostages out,
00:14:42.760 but it would take place in drips and drabs.
00:14:46.040 You'd get 10, you'd get 5, you'd get 2, you'd get 10, 12.
00:14:50.820 We'd get 12 one time.
00:14:52.580 Many of them would come to the White House and they were so thankful.
00:14:55.000 But I always said, when you get down to the final 10 or 20,
00:14:59.060 you're not going to be able to make a deal with these people because they use them as a shield.
00:15:02.940 And when they give them up, they no longer have a shield.
00:15:05.680 And the people of Israel feel so strongly about the hostages.
00:15:09.940 Some people would take a different view, but they feel so strongly about the hostages.
00:15:14.160 So that's an ongoing process.
00:15:16.980 Hamas has become very difficult to deal with in the last couple of days
00:15:21.420 because they don't want to give up these last 20
00:15:24.440 because they think as long as we have them, they have them, they have protection.
00:15:28.940 But I don't think it can work that way.
00:15:30.620 So I'm speaking to PB Netanyahu, and we are coming up with various plans.
00:15:36.520 Israel facing mounting pressure from the international community
00:15:40.020 as disputed reports of mass starvation in Gaza continue to emerge.
00:15:45.140 President Trump addressing U.S. efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the region.
00:15:49.640 As we want to get the children fed, we only hope the food goes to the people that need it.
00:15:53.980 Because so much, as you know, when you do something there,
00:15:57.580 it gets taken by Hamas or somebody, but it gets taken.
00:16:01.760 But we're prepared to help.
00:16:03.060 I spoke yesterday with the president of the European Union, Ursula,
00:16:08.740 who was terrific also on the subject, and she's going to play a big role also in helping us.
00:16:14.000 So we have a good group of countries that are going to help with the humanitarian needs,
00:16:18.580 which is food, sanitation, and some other things.
00:16:22.740 We're going to set up food centers, and we're going to do it in conjunction with some very good people,
00:16:29.480 and we're going to supply funds.
00:16:32.140 And we just took in trillions of dollars.
00:16:35.460 We've got a lot of money, and we're going to spend a little money on some food,
00:16:40.000 and other nations are joining us.
00:16:42.020 President Trump also railing against wind energy, the top form of electricity in the U.K.
00:16:47.940 Wind is the most expensive form of energy,
00:16:50.660 and it destroys the beauty of your fields and your planes and your waterways.
00:16:56.660 When we go to Aberdeen, you'll see some of the ugliest windmills you've ever seen.
00:17:01.520 They're the height of a 50-story building, and you can take a thousand times more energy
00:17:09.580 out of a hole in the ground this big.
00:17:12.540 This big.
00:17:13.160 It's called oil and gas because the wind is intermittent.
00:17:16.380 It doesn't work.
00:17:17.060 It's extremely expensive.
00:17:18.320 All the windmills are made in China.
00:17:20.360 They say that the blades, which are carbon fiber, you can't bury.
00:17:24.900 Oh, okay, you can't bury.
00:17:25.800 What are you going to do, dump them in the ocean someplace?
00:17:28.620 Because they only last a certain period of time.
00:17:30.640 And remember, a windmill has a life of eight years,
00:17:35.020 especially when they're out in the salty sea, and they start to rot and to rust.
00:17:39.440 I've restricted windmills in the United States because they also kill all your birds.
00:17:45.260 You know, they wipe out.
00:17:46.040 You know, it's interesting.
00:17:47.320 If you shoot a bald eagle in the United States, they put you in jail for five years.
00:17:52.060 And yet windmills knock out hundreds of them.
00:17:54.800 They don't do anything.
00:17:55.980 You explain that.
00:17:57.460 So it's a very expensive energy.
00:17:59.820 It's a very ugly energy.
00:18:01.340 And we won't allow it in the United States.
00:18:03.900 President Trump set to conclude the Scotland trip today.
00:18:06.700 Over the weekend, Politico dropping a story shedding new light on President Trump's unique
00:18:13.260 relationships with world leaders, revealing the personal touch the president brings to
00:18:17.660 maintaining ties with other heads of state by handing out his personal cell phone number.
00:18:22.880 From the piece, quote, six months into his second term, world leaders who want to remain
00:18:27.400 in the president's good graces regularly call and text, sometimes to discuss matters of global
