00:02:41.600 Spain defeating Argentina 1-0 yesterday in a dramatic extra time victory to win the World Cup.

00:02:48.740 The final played at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands in New Jersey,

00:02:53.180 just outside of New York City.

00:02:55.140 The game remaining scoreless through regulation despite Spain taking 15 shots,

00:03:00.180 while Argentina failed to record a single attempt on goal.

00:03:03.640 Argentina losing one of its top players in the 93rd minute,

00:03:07.180 the resulting red card leaving the team a man down for all of extra time.

00:03:11.960 Argentina's goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez,

00:03:14.760 almost single-handedly keeping his team in the game,

00:03:17.420 making a World Cup final record, 10 saves in regulation, playing with a broken finger no less.

00:03:24.520 Early in the second half of overtime, Spain finally breaking through. Left winger Nico

00:03:29.440 Williams heading the ball backward from near the goal line, sending it into the box to forward

00:03:34.300 Ferran Torres, who charged in and fired the game winner into the top of the net.

00:03:39.980 Argentina not recording its first shot of the game until the 116th minute,

00:03:44.120 then playing with intense urgency, launching attack after attack, but never finding the net.

00:03:50.700 The victory gives Spain its second men's World Cup title ever,

00:03:54.680 while ending 39-year-old Lionel Messi's bid to win consecutive championships.

00:04:00.160 Spain also becoming the first country to hold the men's and women's World Cup titles at the same time.

00:04:06.400 President Trump among the many high-profile individuals in attendance

00:04:10.180 to watch the conclusion of a successful North American World Cup.

00:04:15.500 Social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate arrested Saturday in Miami

00:04:20.640 on a British extradition request tied to dozens of rape, trafficking, and other charges.

00:04:27.440 U.S. Marshals taking the dual American-British citizens into custody on a sealed warrant,

00:04:33.000 according to the AP.

00:04:34.820 TMZ publishing videos showing agents handcuffing the brothers

00:04:37.960 outside a convention center in downtown Miami where Andrew Tate had been scheduled to co-host

00:04:43.380 a bare-knuckle boxing event. The brothers already facing a combined 21 charges in Britain

00:04:49.420 involving three alleged victims, including rape, human trafficking, assault, and controlling

00:04:55.520 prostitution for financial gain. Yesterday, Assistant Chief Constable Karina Thomas announcing

00:05:01.780 the scope of the expanded case. Following the initial charges being authorized, we have

00:05:06.540 continue to investigate further offenses reported to both Bedfordshire Police and Hertfordshire

00:05:11.360 Constabulary. As a result, 38 new charges in total have now been authorized against Andrew and Tristan

00:05:18.280 Tate, bringing the total number of charges faced to 59. The charges relate to seven victims spanning

00:05:25.360 a period from 2010 to 2017. The Crown Prosecution Service charging Andrew with seven additional

00:05:32.600 counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation,

00:05:38.340 three counts of assault causing bodily harm, and 19 charges involving indecent images of a child

00:05:43.960 and extreme pornography. Tristan now facing one additional count of sexual assault,

00:05:50.000 two counts of rape, and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.

00:05:55.960 The brothers gaining millions of followers on social media by promoting an aggressively

00:06:00.600 misogynistic vision of masculinity. The British case only won part of the brothers' years-long

00:06:06.840 legal battle. The Tates also facing criminal proceedings in Romania since their arrest there

00:06:12.200 in December 2022. Romanian prosecutors accusing the brothers of using the so-called lover-boy

00:06:19.100 method, allegedly luring women with promises of romantic relationships before coercing them

00:06:25.080 into producing pornographic content.

00:06:27.920 Journalist Matt Shea,

00:06:29.300 who investigated the Tate brothers

00:06:30.640 in documentaries for the BBC,

00:06:33.120 explaining on the network

00:06:34.140 why the Miami arrests come as a surprise.

00:06:37.600 Well, it's surprising because

00:06:40.260 we have to remember, right,

00:06:42.480 that throughout the litany of accusations

00:06:45.000 against the Tate brothers,

00:06:46.600 perhaps the biggest ongoing right now

00:06:48.440 is the Romanian investigation into them.

00:06:51.500 So there are two indictments in Romania.

00:06:53.380 There's one from 2023, which alleges both Andrew and Tristan Tate formed an organized criminal group and did human trafficking and were guilty of rape as well.

00:07:04.500 And a newer investigation involving additional allegations, including trafficking of a minor, sex with a minor, money laundering, witness tampering, and the list goes on.

00:07:13.660 And the agreement that the U.K. had with the Romanian authorities was that they would wait for that investigation to complete and any sentencing to complete before the Tates were then extradited to the U.K. from Romania.

00:07:28.640 So this has been a bit of a shock because it's changed that. And presumably that's because of this new evidence.

00:07:35.960 A Romanian court approving Britain's original extradition request in March 2024,

00:07:42.540 but postponing the brothers' transfer until the criminal proceedings against them in Romania

00:07:47.000 were completed, according to Reuters. Romanian authorities lifting the brothers' travel

00:07:52.080 restrictions in February 2025, allowing them to return to Florida while the cases in Romania

00:07:57.760 remained unresolved. The brothers denying all allegations against them, their attorney Joseph

00:08:03.580 McBride accusing British officials of trying to bypass the Romanian proceedings and arguing

00:08:09.020 America should reject the extradition request. Andrew and Tristan Tate set to appear in federal

00:08:15.320 court in Miami sometime this week, according to the Wall Street Journal. Two U.S. Forest Service

00:08:22.700 employees safely released after allegedly being kidnapped, zip-tied, and held at gunpoint for

00:08:28.840 nearly 15 hours in a remote part of Northern California in a terrifying and bizarre incident.

00:08:35.700 Authorities identifying the suspects as 49-year-old Joseph Charles Henriksen and his 23-year-old son

00:08:42.240 Phoenix Henriksen. The crisis beginning around 10.55 a.m. Thursday. Two federal employees were

00:08:48.780 reportedly performing routine seasonal fieldwork near Gumboot Lake in the Shasta Trinity National

00:08:54.380 Forest in California. Authorities say Joseph Henriksen confronted the workers with a gun,

00:08:59.820 forcing them into a privately owned trailer deep inside the forest. It is unclear to whom

00:09:05.580 the trailer belongs. The trailer sits roughly 6,000 feet above sea level in heavily wooded,

00:09:11.620 mountainous terrain, accessible only by a single-lane road, according to the New York Times.

00:09:17.560 Federal prosecutors say Henriksen used one of the victim's phones to contact authorities,

00:09:22.600 warning that he had live ammunition. ABC-10 obtaining police scanner audio capturing the

00:09:29.240 demand that helped set negotiations in motion. I have two biologists in my custody right now.

00:09:38.160 I've tried to make contact with the FBI through the law enforcement agent that is in the ranger

00:09:47.100 station here in Shasta. I'm requesting FBI investigators to speak to so that I can release

00:09:54.580 these hostages. Siskiyou County Sheriff Jeremiah LaRue laying out the hours-long effort to establish

00:10:01.100 contact and bring the workers home safely. We sent deputies and our special response team

00:10:08.560 to the location around noon. At about 1.03 p.m., using our drones, we were able to identify a

00:10:18.740 trailer where Mr. Hendrickson was inside, and we attempted every effort to begin communicating with

00:10:25.980 him to resolve the potential conflict. And it wasn't until about 4 o'clock, about 4.20,

00:10:32.940 that we were able to begin negotiations with Mr. Hendrickson. At about 1.50 a.m.,

00:10:41.420 the survivors, the hostages, the two employees of the Forest Service were released.

00:10:48.920 Authorities say drone footage showed the Elder Hendrickson carrying an AR-15-style rifle

00:10:54.260 and repeatedly moving in and out of the trailer. Campers and other visitors reportedly evacuated

00:11:00.280 from the surrounding area as hundreds of officers converged on the isolated campground.

00:11:05.520 The response drawing local, state, and federal agencies, including tactical teams, hostage

00:11:10.480 negotiators, bomb technicians, and members of the FBI's hostage rescue team, flown in from Quantico,

00:11:16.620 Virginia. Acting FBI Sacramento Special Agent in Charge Brian Tosh at a Friday press conference

00:11:23.080 praising the coordinated response and its rare, peaceful conclusion.

00:11:27.520 At approximately 2.30 a.m., Joseph Heinrichsen and his son, Phoenix Heinrichsen, surrendered.

00:11:34.700 Joseph has been arrested on federal kidnapping charges.

00:11:38.160 At the time, he had an AR-15 and knives and claimed to have grenades.

00:11:43.280 Crisis situations like this don't often result in everyone leaving the scene safely.

00:11:48.860 We are very proud of the work everyone did today.

00:11:51.200 Both Forest Service employees evaluated after their release and allowed to return home,

00:11:57.140 with authorities reporting no serious injuries. Federal prosecutors charging both Henriksons on

00:12:02.860 Friday with kidnapping federal employees. As a possible motive, Shasta County Sheriff Michael

00:12:08.520 Johnson telling the New York Times the elder Henriksen had spent years expressing intense

00:12:13.440 grievances against the federal government. Sheriff Johnson not providing more information about

00:12:18.840 Henriksen's complaint, but saying the father and son specifically targeted the workers because of

00:12:24.500 their connection to the federal government. If convicted, each man faces a maximum sentence of

00:12:29.980 life in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. Coming up, several U.S. service members killed

00:12:38.700 across the Middle East as renewed fighting with Iran drives up the U.S. military death toll.

00:12:43.860 and Paul Pelosi charged with a hit-and-run after allegedly leaving the scene of a Napa Valley crash.

00:14:16.480 Several American service members killed in the Middle East over the weekend as

00:14:20.640 fighting between the U.S. and Iran intensifies once again. CENTCOM announcing yesterday that

00:14:26.600 one service member died in northern Iraq while troops were attempting to destroy unexploded

00:14:31.620 material from an Iranian attack drone. The death comes one day after an Iranian missile and drone

00:14:38.020 attack on American and allied forces in Jordan, with CENTCOM initially announcing two U.S. troops

00:14:44.200 were killed and four others evacuated from the area for medical treatment. Those four have since

00:14:50.020 been released from the hospital, while additional troops treated for less serious injuries have

00:14:54.780 since returned to duty. Another service member remaining unaccounted for. According to CENTCOM

00:15:00.880 yesterday, search teams did recover unidentified remains near the site in Jordan yesterday,

00:15:06.620 with an examination underway to determine whether they belong to the missing American.

00:15:11.320 President Trump talking with NewsNation yesterday, describing the deaths as, quote,

00:15:15.660 a very sad thing, and saying the troops died serving their country. The latest confirmed

00:15:20.900 deaths bring the American military toll since the war began to 17. If the remains are positively

00:15:26.580 identified that would make 18 with more than 400 troops injured. Former Democrat House Speaker

00:15:34.000 Nancy Pelosi's husband officially charged with a hit-and-run after allegedly crashing into a

00:15:39.540 parked car and leaving the scene in Napa Valley, California. Napa County prosecutors charging

00:15:45.400 86-year-old Paul Pelosi on Friday over the July 3rd collision in Yontville. According to the Napa

00:15:51.540 County Sheriff's Office, Pelosi, in his brown convertible, struck a legally parked unoccupied

00:15:57.800 vehicle. He briefly stopped, then drove away without providing the information required under

00:16:03.000 California law. No one was injured, and authorities say alcohol was not involved. A California Highway

00:16:09.300 Patrol officer finding Mr. Pelosi about a quarter mile from the scene after he allegedly continued

00:16:14.720 driving until his car stopped working. Mr. Pelosi facing one misdemeanor count of hit-and-run

00:16:21.060 involving property damage, carrying up to six months in county jail, a $1,000 fine, or both,

00:16:27.260 according to the AP, along with a separate charge for allegedly making an unlawful turn.

00:16:32.840 A Pelosi family spokesperson previously saying he personally apologized to the vehicle's owner

00:16:38.240 and promised to cover the damage, which shouldn't be hard since his net worth is approximately

00:16:43.800 $275 million per NewsNation. Mr. Pelosi set to appear in court on August 14th,

00:16:51.460 Representative Pelosi, approached by a Fox News reporter on Friday,

00:16:55.020 declining to address the case.

00:16:56.920 How is Paul doing since the accident?

00:17:00.780 The accident that happened?

00:17:02.540 Thank you.

00:17:02.940 Reports were saying it was a hit and run.

00:17:05.180 How's he doing?

00:17:05.920 And do you think he'll avoid jail time?

00:17:07.500 That's enough.

00:17:08.460 This is not Mr. Pelosi's first driving-related criminal case in Napa County.

00:17:12.640 In 2022, Mr. Pelosi pleading guilty to a DUI stemming from another crash,

00:17:18.400 receiving a five-day jail sentence and three years of probation. Mr. Pelosi's driving record,

00:17:24.120 a source of concern among those who know the Pelosi's, according to the New York Times,

00:17:29.040 court records show he has had at least eight driving violations in the past 15 years,

00:17:34.380 including driving down a one-way street, speeding, and running red lights.
