00:01:05.980 Joe Biden's inflation is out of control. But then it goes on to say, President Nixon in 1972 signed

00:01:11.740 into law automatic benefit adjustments tied to the consumer price index. So no, it's not that Joe Biden's

00:01:18.560 just giving you a lot of money. He has to do that because the inflation rate under him is so bad.

00:01:22.640 And also, it wasn't Democrats who even set up that rule. It was the Republicans who set up that rule.

00:07:35.840 is absurd. And so last night, Joe Biden had the Hail Mary speech. Joe Biden came out. He said,

00:07:40.840 I'm going to make a speech defending democracy. And Joe Biden already tried this tactic. He tried that

00:07:47.620 in front of the big infernal red wall where he called half the country fascists and was gesticulating

00:07:55.000 wildly. And the speech did not go well. It got terrible, terrible reviews. So because the

00:07:59.260 Democrats have nothing, Joe Biden just tried it again. He tried the exact same speech. Half the

00:08:05.020 country's evil. They're terrorists. He didn't call us fascists this time per se, but he insinuated that

00:08:11.540 we're fascists. And he did call us a threat to democracy. The aesthetics were much better this time

00:08:15.620 instead of the infernal red, you know, gigantic backdrop. It was just a regular blue wall with

00:08:21.500 some American flags behind him. But the speech was substantively the same. And it was a speech

00:08:25.720 not on any political issue because all of those don't look very good for the Democrats right now.

00:08:29.920 It was on democracy. I know there's a lot at stake in these midterm elections from our economy,

00:08:37.320 the safety of our streets, to our personal freedoms, the future of health care, social security,

00:08:42.680 Medicare. It's all important. But we'll have our differences. We'll have our difference of

00:08:48.680 opinion. And that's what it's supposed to be. But there's something else at stake. Democracy itself.

00:08:57.060 I'm not the only one who sees it. Recent polls have shown an overwhelming majority of Americans

00:09:03.020 believe our democracy is at risk, that our democracy is under threat.

00:09:09.700 They, too, see that democracy is on the ballot this year. And they're deeply concerned about it.

00:09:17.560 So today, I appeal to all Americans, regardless of party, to meet this moment of national and

00:09:25.300 generational importance. We must vote knowing what's at stake and not just the policy of the moment.

00:09:33.420 Democracy is on the ballot. Forget about all those political issues, you know, immigration,

00:09:37.840 the economy, health care, education. Forget about all that because we're terrible. Our record is

00:09:42.860 terrible and we're deeply unpopular on all of that, we Democrats. But democracy is on the ballot.

00:09:49.460 So as I'm hearing him give this speech, I just keep asking myself, what does he think democracy is?

00:09:56.680 I'm no political science PhD, but last time I checked, democracy is what the majority of people vote for.

00:10:06.080 That's democracy. That's all democracy is. It's what most people vote for when they participate in their

00:10:14.460 government. It's different than aristocracy. It's different than oligarchy. It's different than monarchy.

00:10:19.000 It's just, that's, it's just what the people vote for. That's it. So if the people want to elect

00:10:24.420 Republicans and they go out and they vote for the Republicans, that cannot be a threat to democracy.

00:10:30.960 That would, that necessarily by definition is an expression of democracy. But Joe Biden doesn't

00:10:36.820 seem to understand that. He goes on to give his definition of democracy.

00:10:42.420 For democracies are more than a form of government. They're a way of being, a way of seeing the world,

00:10:50.720 a way that defines who we are, what we believe, why we do what we do.

00:10:57.940 Democracy is simply that fundamental.

00:11:01.720 That's not true. None of that is true. Democracy actually just is a form of government.

00:11:06.820 That's all it is. It's not a way of seeing the world. It's not an ideology exactly. It's just

00:11:14.840 a form of government different than oligarchy. Well, now, unfortunately, our democracy seems to

00:11:19.740 be much closer to an oligarchy. But democracy itself is different than oligarchy. It's different

00:11:23.700 than monarchy. That's all it is. What Joe Biden is describing here is not democracy. What he is

00:11:29.020 describing is liberalism. Liberalism really is a way of viewing the world. Liberalism really is an

00:11:35.500 ideology. Liberalism really is a kind of identity, a deep identity, especially for these people,

00:11:39.700 for the liberals. But liberalism and democracy are different. And I'm not the first to point it out.

00:11:46.060 Adrian Vermeule has made this point. Patrick Deneen has made this point. A lot of other people have

00:11:49.580 made this point. When the liberals say democracy, they mean liberalism. That is why when the people

00:11:58.260 vote against them, it cannot be legitimate. So I'm looking at the elections now, and I'm looking at

00:12:02.940 how Twitter is warning that the election is going to take a really long time. It's going to take days

00:12:07.320 and weeks to count. And you're hearing this from the Pennsylvania Secretary of State. Oh,

00:12:10.480 don't expect results on election night. No, it's going to take days and weeks to count.

00:12:13.200 And I'm looking at all of this, and I'm saying, oh, they're trying to rig it. They're trying to

00:12:18.160 rig it. This is not some crazy conspiracy theory. The Democrats bragged about rigging the 2020

00:12:22.220 election in Time magazine in a very lengthy essay. I quoted it at length the other night during a

00:12:27.220 YAF speech at the University of Kentucky. But they brag about this stuff, how they changed all the

00:12:31.140 rules, how they suppressed certain lawsuits to rig the election in 2020. Because they say we have to

00:12:36.520 save democracy, rather. And so if democracy is on the ballot, then in their minds, they're justified

00:12:42.180 in doing absolutely anything they can, up to and including rigging the election. So now we're in a

00:12:46.320 weird situation where when conservatives win, the liberals deny it because they don't consider us

00:12:55.520 legitimate participants in our democracy. When the liberals win, we deny it because they rig the

00:13:02.780 elections and brag about it openly. So here we are. Nobody really believes that the elections are

00:13:09.960 legit anymore. The Democrats, I think, are much more at fault about this. They have been denying the

00:13:14.760 elections much longer than Republicans have, and with much less reason. They deny the results of the

00:13:19.700 2000 elections. Some deny the results of 2004 and objected to these elections. The woman who lost in

00:13:25.280 2016 denied the results of that election, Hillary Clinton. Stacey Abrams continues to deny the results

00:13:30.200 of the 2018 election. Okay, it's really only 2020 where they changed all the rules and admitted that

00:13:36.000 they rigged it, that the conservatives said, hey, this doesn't seem like a totally legit election.

00:13:40.660 But either way, regardless, I'm not even here just to point fingers and cast blame.

00:13:44.420 Regardless, here's where we are. Neither side believes in the integrity of the elections.

00:13:50.580 And you've got Joe Biden himself saying the election is essentially only legit if we win,

00:13:55.460 because we, the liberals, are the only supporters of democracy. The MAGA Republicans,

00:14:01.380 which statistically means all of the Republicans, oppose the democracy. So when they win,

00:14:06.400 it is by definition illegitimate. So here we are. The great defenders of democracy are saying

00:14:11.240 that only they can win. The great defenders of democracy, Joe Biden and the rest of them are

00:14:15.260 saying, if we don't have one party democratic liberal rule in this country, we no longer have

00:14:19.780 our traditional American system of government. Those are the stakes. And they're going to keep

00:14:23.860 counting those freaking ballots until they get the answer that they want, if they have any opportunity

00:14:29.360 to do so. It was ironically a very, very anti-democracy speech. And it was, I'm not going to subject you to

00:14:39.300 the rest of the stupid Joe Biden speech where he says, he talks about the attack by the BLM-loving,

00:14:46.440 gay pride-waving, nudist, hippie hemp jeweler from Berkeley, who is now apparently the most right-wing

00:14:54.860 Republican in America who went into the Pelosi's home under very suspicious circumstances.

00:14:59.300 And there were all sorts of questions raised by the dispatch call where Paul Pelosi apparently

00:15:05.160 knew the guy according to the dispatch recording and said he was a friend of his and knew him by

00:15:09.820 name. But now they're saying he didn't know him at all. And the whole thing is, it stinks to high

00:15:13.180 heaven. But Joe Biden uses this, this whole apparent home invasion right before the election to say

00:15:22.220 that the Republicans are terrorists and insurrectionists. I'm going to spare you all

00:15:24.960 that stupid stuff. There was just one line that really drove me crazy because again, it seemed to

00:15:30.720 set the stage for Democrats trying to rig this thing next Tuesday, where he said, look, you can't only

00:15:37.180 love your country when you win. I've said before, you can't love your country only when you win.

00:15:45.120 This is no ordinary year. So I ask you to think long and hard about the moment we're in.

00:15:54.620 Really ironic coming from the head of the Democrat party. You'll remember infamously,

00:16:00.240 Michelle Obama said in 2008 that the first time in her adult life that she was ever proud of her

00:16:05.180 country was when it elected her husband. She's saying, yeah, I didn't like my country at all. I only like

00:16:11.220 it when, not only when we win the Democrats, but when I personally win, the Obama family gets to go

00:16:16.460 to the White House. And furthermore, you see from the Democrats and their rhetoric, not only do the

00:16:24.140 Democrats only love their country when they win, they don't even seem to love it then. The Democrats

00:16:29.460 don't love America. They don't, they don't. I know you're not supposed to say that, but that's what,

00:16:34.760 that's what they say. When Barack Obama campaigns to fundamentally transform America,

00:16:39.120 what he's saying is I don't love America because you don't want to fundamentally transform things

00:16:42.980 that you love. You want to fundamentally transform things that you don't love, or at the very least

00:16:47.540 that you think are just so awful or in just such a terrible state of disrepair that there's nothing

00:16:52.580 worth preserving about them, that you've got to fundamentally change it. And Democrats have said

00:16:58.820 this for many. America's racist. America's awful. It's bigoted. It's terrible. It's imperialist.

00:17:03.240 It's thisist. It's thatist. They hate it. They hate the country. They want to radically change it.

00:17:09.580 And they are radically changing its system of government. The other irony about the whole

00:17:13.100 pro-democracy line here is that the founding fathers hated democracy. And the word democracy

00:17:19.420 appears nowhere in the Constitution. It appears nowhere in the Declaration of Independence. It does

00:17:23.480 appear in the Federalist Papers, which explains the system of government that the framers gave us.

00:17:28.620 And every single time it appears in the Federalist Papers, it appears with disapproval. The framers

00:17:34.640 and the founders hated democracy. They established a republic where there is a distinction. It's a

00:17:42.420 little bit of a nuanced distinction between what a republic is and what a democracy is. And a lot of

00:17:45.860 people are dead certain that they know the exact difference. But I think the founding fathers

00:17:49.120 themselves were actually somewhat contradictory on this topic. Regardless, what the effect of it was,

00:17:55.960 was to give us a regime that had a lot of different elements. It had a kind of monarchical element in

00:18:00.220 the executive who was strong. It had a kind of aristocratic element in the Senate and other

00:18:04.960 political structures. It obviously had a strong democratic element and representation for the

00:18:08.620 people. It had checks and balances. It was just a kind of a mixed regime. But the idea that America

00:18:13.640 was established as our sacred democracy is just completely made up. That's a retconning by the

00:18:19.500 Democrats, who ironically don't even like democracy themselves. But this is their line. They're

00:18:23.020 sticking to it. So Karine Jean-Pierre now gets her marching orders from the White House. She says,

00:18:28.340 if basically, if you vote for the Republicans, you're voting against democracy.

00:18:31.840 The president has long talked about our nation being at an inflection point. He has been clear,

00:18:38.520 democracy is under assault and we cannot pretend otherwise. The president will continue to call

00:18:44.200 attention to the threat to democratic integrity and to public safety posed by those who deny

00:18:51.060 the documented truth about election results and those who seek to undermine public faith in our

00:18:58.220 system of government. Unfortunately, we have seen mega, MAGA Republican officials who don't believe

00:19:05.160 in the rule of law. They refuse to accept the results of free and fair elections and they fan the flames

00:19:12.580 of political violence through what they praise and what they refuse to condemn. It remains important for

00:19:20.300 the president to state strongly and unequivocally that violence has no place in our democracy.

00:19:27.460 The mega, MAGA Republicans are an existential threat to our democracy because they deny the results of

00:19:34.800 elections. They say that the elections are stolen sometimes and that's the big lie and that's why

00:19:40.640 they're a threat to democracy, says Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary.

00:19:43.480 Now, on December 17th, 2016, here is what Karine Jean-Pierre said. Stolen emails, stolen drone,

00:19:51.540 stolen election. Welcome to the world of unprecedented, unprecedented, get it, Trump.

00:20:00.280 March 12th, 2019, this is what Karine Jean-Pierre had to say. The race, Stacey Abrams' race in Georgia,

00:20:08.460 the race was stolen. Okay. And then we have, reminder, Brian Kemp stole the gubernatorial election

00:20:18.460 from Georgians and Stacey Abrams. But the mega, MAGA Republicans, they're the existential threat

00:20:26.680 to democracy because they uniquely deny the results of elections, right? Not only are Republicans not

00:20:33.080 unique in questioning the results of elections, we do it probably one one-thousandth of the time

00:20:37.440 that the Democrats do. It's only a problem when we do it. So what is this? Hypocrisy from the

00:20:42.420 Democrats? No. To quote again that great conservative law professor, Adrian Vermeule,

00:20:46.760 it's not hypocrisy, it's hierarchy. You see this in a story from the New York Times. I couldn't

00:20:52.040 believe this headline yesterday. Black faith leaders in Georgia speak out against Herschel Walker.

00:20:59.140 Oh, good. They're speaking out. Herschel Walker is really bad. It's good that those faith leaders

00:21:03.520 are speaking out. The pastor, Jamal Bryant, delivered a fiery sermon on Sunday denouncing

00:21:12.240 Herschel Walker. Said in 2022, we don't need a walker, we need a runner. It was an instance of

00:21:17.560 black faith leaders in Georgia amplifying their criticism of the Republican Senate candidate.

00:21:21.600 Now, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not a lawyer. Isn't that illegal? Isn't that illegal for churches

00:21:28.320 which have tax-exempt status to preach politics from the pulpit? Because that's what I was told.

00:21:34.220 I was told that breaks federal law. And actually, I hear in the pages of outlets like the New York

00:21:40.020 Times, like the Washington Post, like all the leftist establishment media, that this is an evil,

00:21:44.340 terrible threat to America when those pastors are preaching against the Democrats, when they're

00:21:51.080 preaching out on politics. But you see, the pastors, the real pastors who take Christianity

00:21:58.780 seriously, they speak out against the left because the left is essentially opposed to Christianity.

00:22:04.780 In fact, the left comes out of an attack on the church. That's where the word comes from. It comes

00:22:09.920 from the French Revolution, the people who sat on the left of the National Assembly. They were the people

00:22:13.540 who were attacking specifically the church. So real pastors, real Christians speak out against the left.

00:22:20.040 Okay. And to put it as bluntly as I possibly can. And so the libs hate that. And so they always

00:22:26.420 threaten to take away the tax-exempt status of churches that do that. And they always say it's

00:22:31.480 a law and they're going to prosecute these people and all the rest. But then when the wolves in sheep's

00:22:37.300 clothing, the wolves in shepherds' clothing, who from the pulpit preach leftism and lead their flocks

00:22:43.880 astray, they say this is a wonderful thing. Oh, it's just a great example of faith leaders speaking out.

00:22:51.040 But it's not hypocrisy. It is hierarchy, to quote Vermeule. They don't care that, yes, they think

00:22:59.460 it's a double standard, sure. But they don't think that the left and the right are comparable. They

00:23:04.620 don't think that the leftist pastors and the right-wing pastors are comparable. They don't think that

00:23:09.640 the Biden voters and the Trump voters are comparable. Only the leftists are considered

00:23:14.800 legitimate to these people. And Biden has said it himself. He said, democracy is threatened by the

00:23:23.220 very existence of half the country. Yes, that's incoherent if you think that by democracy, he

00:23:29.780 means democracy. That's not what he means. He means liberalism. And if you contradict the libs,

00:27:08.400 tough on China when they knew that they were never going to change the trade relationship between

00:27:11.920 the U.S. and China. But then Trump comes in and he starts actually doing these things.

00:27:17.940 And he starts actually putting pretty conservative justices on the court. Unlike George Bush,

00:27:24.180 who accidentally put some conservative justices on the court, but tried to put liberal justices

00:27:27.980 on the court and did end up putting John Roberts, who's a pretty liberal justice on the court.

00:27:33.800 George W. Bush, who talked a good game on conservatism, but he was basically for open borders. He was for

00:27:38.640 Wilsonian adventurism around the world. He was for basically the kind of Clinton global trade,

00:27:52.040 Liz Cheney is doing here. And that's what all these guys, that's what the Lincoln Project is about.

00:28:23.560 moved Democrat. And they just, they just didn't like Trump. They didn't like the tough talk. I don't

00:28:28.840 know. Whatever it was, they just, they, they moved Democrat. There are all sorts of explanations as to

00:28:32.760 why that was. I think that Trump actually got too much blame for the, for the move of suburban white

00:28:37.560 women out of the GOP. But regardless, they're coming right back into the Republican Party now.

00:28:42.180 Suburban white women have shifted 15 points in favor of GOP control of Congress. This is a crucial

00:28:49.980 demographic. The, the move demonstrates a 27 point move away from the Democrats since the journal's

00:29:00.460 poll back in August. So it wasn't that long ago. And the white suburban women consist that they make

00:29:06.580 up 20% of the electorate. So why is this? The, the Trump haters will say that this is because Trump's

00:29:14.280 not on the ballot. And so we're finally getting the suburban white women back. I don't think that's

00:29:18.420 really the big story here. I think it's just crime. I think crime is the big story of the midterm

00:29:24.100 elections. I think that the Democrats for the past several years have campaigned on defunding

00:29:28.900 the police and abolishing the police and letting the criminals out of prison. And normal people hate

00:29:34.260 that. Normal people of all races, especially women across the, the fruited plains, sea to shining

00:29:41.380 sea in America. They hate it when you let criminals out of prison and they hate it when they have to fear

00:29:45.800 for their property and their lives and the lives of their family. And I don't think it really has

00:29:51.120 to do with Trump at all. The other big story here, Democrats put all their eggs in the basket of

00:29:56.500 abortion. They said, look, we're losing on the economy and immigration and foreign policy and

00:30:00.240 on and on and on. But the one issue we're going to run on now is that the Supreme Court overruled

00:30:04.980 Roe v. Wade. And this is going to fire up women all around the country. And the women are going

00:30:09.660 to come out and vote for us. And we're going to stop the red wave. And we're actually, maybe we'll

00:30:12.640 even have a blue wave. We'll see what, and then it just didn't happen. Just didn't happen. And

00:30:16.580 actually, it's not even just that, you know, the women shifted firmly to the Democrats, but the men

00:30:23.600 kind of overwhelmed them. No, no, no. The women shifted to the GOP. They don't, one, the pro-life

00:30:28.380 movement is mostly women. And the pro-life issue, it splits women basically 50-50. And the momentum

00:30:35.800 is clearly on the side of the pro-life movement. But also just poll after poll shows most people

00:30:41.520 don't vote on abortion. Even I, I care about abortion a lot. I will vote on abortion. I'm

00:30:45.660 part of 15% of the electorate that does. You might care a lot about abortion. You are part of a very

00:30:51.140 small portion of the electorate that does. And that 15% includes both the pro-abortion fanatics and

00:30:56.360 the defenders of life. So what is it? Seven and a half, seven and a half. It's just, it's so small.

00:31:01.740 The Democrats just completely, completely miscalculated here, both on crime and on abortion.

00:31:07.780 And, and far from seeing the, the GOP split or the women vote split or anything like that,

00:31:13.040 you're actually seeing it all come together. And you're seeing it come together in a really

00:31:16.920 crucial place in Arizona. So in Arizona, Blake Masters is running for the Senate against Mark

00:31:22.980 Kelly. Mark Kelly is a rubber stamp for Chuck Schumer and he's a Democrat, but he's got an

00:31:27.760 interesting personal story. He's an astronaut. His wife, Gabby Giffords was shot at a political

00:31:32.960 event and she had to leave Congress. And then he runs and he, he enters the Senate. And so he's got

00:31:37.900 a good personal story, even though he's an absolutely terrible Senator. Blake Masters is running

00:31:41.940 in many ways as an avatar of the new right. He's not just reciting all the same stupid platitudes

00:31:47.240 that we've heard for the last 15 years from the squishy loser Republicans. He's talking about real

00:31:51.640 things. He thinks that the 2020 election was stolen. Okay. His words, not mine. Don't take

00:31:56.380 me off YouTube, but that's what he thinks. He says that in America, it should be a top priority of our

00:32:01.280 politics to make it, to create the political conditions such that people can raise a family

00:32:06.680 on one income. Really, really great stuff. Talking in explicitly pro-family, traditional

00:32:11.700 conservative terms. I absolutely love that. On and on. We've interviewed Blake on this show. I'm

00:32:17.440 really supportive of his campaign. He, he was behind a little bit in the polls. We'll see.

00:32:23.080 It's going to be a real nail biter, but he got great news because the libertarian candidate in

00:32:27.480 that race, Mark Victor, just dropped out and urged his supporters to vote for Masters. Really good news.

00:32:34.080 Now, one thing that's unfortunate about the way that the Democrats have rigged our system in the last

00:32:39.240 few years is that they've taken election day and turned it into election months. In some cases,

00:32:43.700 election two months, there's widespread mail-in votes. So the question is how many people have

00:32:47.440 already voted for Mark Victor? I don't know the exact rules in Arizona, so it might not be as bad

00:32:52.700 as it is in some states. The other problem is Mark Victor will be on the ballot. So he didn't drop out

00:32:57.100 early enough to not be on the ballot, which is too bad. That would have helped Blake a lot more.

00:33:02.080 But in any case, good on Mark for dropping out. He says, after a discussion with him,

00:33:07.900 I believe it is in the best interests of freedom and peace to withdraw my candidacy and

00:33:12.520 enthusiastically support Blake Masters for US Senate. I intend to assist in any way reasonably

00:33:18.060 possible to elect Blake. Great line. And that's how Republicans should be thinking,

00:33:22.560 and not just Republicans. It's how moderates and even center-left people should be thinking.

00:33:28.100 I think about the people who were on the left, who in recent years seem to be supporting the

00:33:33.120 Republicans more than the Democrats. I think about really prominent people, Joe Rogan.

00:33:36.380 I think probably Bill Maher. I think about people like Elon Musk. Elon Musk was on the left for most

00:33:43.820 of his life. He seems to be much more on the right right now. Normal people who say, look, I might not

00:33:49.740 agree with everything this candidate wants. I might not agree even with their basic way of viewing the

00:33:53.020 world. But I know that something is just really, really corrupt. Something is really, really wrong.

00:33:58.080 Something is really, really incompetent about the Democrat Party. It's ironic that the Democrats

00:34:04.100 are making this play right now to say, regardless of what you think about the issues,

00:34:07.780 you've got to vote for us because we're the defenders of democracy. I think it's totally

00:34:34.480 They're calling parents at school boards domestic terrorists. They're trying to transgender our

00:34:39.220 kids against our will. They're trying to, they're just, they're such a threat to our traditional way

00:34:43.880 of life, such a threat to our rights, such a threat to our liberties that we can't vote for the

00:36:46.860 billion dollars through the Department of Health and Human Services to, quote, help lower heating

00:36:51.100 costs for American families this winter. And the funds will cover unpaid utility payments and, quote,

00:36:57.140 help families make cost-effective home energy repairs to lower their heating and cooling bills.

00:37:02.300 Okay, again, this is just like the Social Security payments. They think that this is a great headline.

00:37:08.540 Hey, we're going to give you a bunch of money. But because we're talking about a topic that is so

00:37:16.800 basic, why is everything so expensive? Why is it expensive to go buy groceries, to go buy gas,

00:37:22.760 especially, to heat my home? Because it's about something that people are very, very familiar with

00:37:27.160 at all degrees of the political spectrum. The question that this policy will raise is,

00:37:36.300 why are heating costs so high? Why do they have to do this? Oh, because of the stupid energy policies

00:37:44.040 of Joe Biden. Don't forget, gas prices are super high right now. They're double what they were when

00:38:50.780 money, by the way? It's not your money, Joe Biden. It's my money. Why are you spending my money to

00:38:55.700 subsidize the heating bills that I used to be able to afford that I can't afford anymore because of

00:38:59.760 your stupid policies? Speaking of inefficient ways to spend money, this story came up a couple of days

00:39:06.880 ago and it horrified me. You know that I'm not much of a dog person. I'm not a cat person either,

00:39:14.260 but I'm not really a dog person. I'm a people person. And this is so sad. There's a restaurant

00:39:21.740 in San Francisco that is now serving dogs filet mignon in what is considered to be the first eatery

00:39:31.260 designed only for dogs. This is not like you go to the cafe and they have a little puppy bowl of water

00:39:38.500 and treats or whatever. This is the restaurant is only for dogs. It's called Doge, D-O-G-U-E,

00:39:47.020 like Vogue, Doge. And it launched in September in the Mission District in San Francisco.

00:39:52.200 And the meals include several courses and they cost $75 per dog. I kid you not, costs more money

00:40:04.060 to feed a dog at this restaurant than most people pay even at a nice restaurant to go out and eat

00:40:11.480 themselves. It does include a mimosa and a pastry for the dog's owner, but the real food is for the

00:40:18.300 dogs. The dog plates have items such as chicken skin waffles, filet mignon, steak tartare with quail egg.

00:40:25.840 Oh, that sounds nice. And some of the food, you know, is relatively affordable. It can get up to

00:40:32.760 $95. Why? Why is this happening? It's happening for one reason and one reason only. It's because

00:40:41.200 people are not having children. And so they are treating their dogs as their children.

00:40:48.720 I'm not opposed to dogs. I don't really like them and I don't intend to get one,

00:40:52.000 but I'm not opposed to dogs. They're fine in theory. I like them in theory.

00:40:56.540 But I really don't like dogs when the dogs are treated like children. And that's what has

00:41:02.940 happened in our society. People don't want to, they think that they don't want to have kids because

00:41:10.580 they think it's too much responsibility and they think it's too expensive and they think they're not

00:41:15.860 in a state in life where they can, they'd have to make the commitment to get married ideally.

00:41:19.640 And, you know, it's just too much responsibility and commitment, man. I'm just going to start out.

00:41:23.460 I'm just going to get a dog. It's the same thinking that as people say, well, I don't want to get

00:41:27.540 married right away. Maybe I'll just move in with my girlfriend. You know, just kind of, it's a lesser

00:41:30.900 step. I can get out whenever I want. It's less responsibility. You can't, you know, take a, you can't

00:41:36.020 take a kid to the shelter. You're not really supposed to. You can take a dog to the shelter if it's too

00:41:39.540 much. So I'm going to do that and that'll be a lot easier. But the practical effect of that

00:41:46.140 is you don't have less responsibility, really. People treat their dogs like children. They spend

00:41:53.140 every bit of time that they would spend on children. They just channel all that time

00:41:57.100 toward their dogs. I know people who get babysitters for their dogs to come over for

00:42:00.400 their homes when they go away and sit with the dog for days on end and spend all sorts of money

00:42:05.240 on the dog's vet and the grooming and the food and the filet mignon and everything, okay?

00:42:10.220 And this is what they think about cohabitation. They say, oh, well, I'm just going to move

00:42:15.020 in, but then it's not as much of a commitment. It's not going to be as intense as getting married,

00:42:18.900 but it is just as intense. You know, you are living with this person. You're very often putting

00:42:24.920 the same amount of energy and emotional investment and money even into that. You're just not getting

00:42:31.540 the fruits of it. So you're putting all the same amount of money and time and care into

00:42:36.980 your dog. But the dog's not going to take care of you in your old age. You're not going to see

00:42:41.200 your smile reflected on the face of the dog. You're not going to get little doggy grandchildren

00:42:47.540 someday. You're not going to get to go to your doggy's ballet recital. And even now, it's really

00:42:53.580 sad. People will take their dogs to doggy daycare, and they'll get little certificates for your doggy

00:42:58.780 completed this task, or your doggy jumped through the hoop today. So you just can't deny your human

00:43:05.900 longings. And so what people are doing is they're not avoiding that emotional and financial

00:43:10.880 expenditure. They're just putting it in a dead-end place. Same thing with cohabitation. You're not

00:43:17.280 avoiding the financial and emotional expenditure. You're just putting it into a place where there's

00:43:22.100 much less stability, where the whole thing could fall apart, where it's not designed to grow and

00:43:26.260 grow your family and grow your life. And people just need to grow up and save the filet mignon for the

00:43:32.540 adult. Save the filet mignon and the quail eggs for me, okay? Because I can appreciate it much more

00:43:36.740 than a dog. And stop. You're not going to avoid civilization and society. You're not going to avoid

00:43:48.160 the way that life has been lived for millennia, okay? We think that we, in the modern age,

00:43:55.340 we think that everything that came before us was really dumb and stupid, and we figured it out.

00:44:44.700 Elon Musk taking their blue check privileges away. Well, he's actually not taking their blue check

00:44:51.620 privileges away. He's just going to charge them $8 a month for it. And you can tell, it's all the

00:44:57.400 art of the deal stuff. First, he comes out, he says, I'm going to fire three quarters of the staff.

00:45:02.220 And everyone freaks out about that. And he's probably going to fire a much lower number.

00:45:06.600 But whatever he fires, it'll seem like a compromise because he started out at this

00:45:10.100 insane negotiating position. So he opened up, he said, I'm going to charge people $20 a month

00:45:14.140 for their blue checks. And then everyone freaked out about it. And he said, okay, it'll only be $8 a

00:45:19.100 month. But that was probably his number to begin with. And he says, I'm going to charge you $8 a month

00:45:22.260 if you want to keep your blue check. If you want to get special privileges with your blue check,

00:45:25.800 because I'm going to democratize the blue checks. And AOC in particular lost it. She goes, LMAO,

00:45:34.580 at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that free speech is actually an $8 a

00:45:39.380 month subscription plan. Elon Musk, I love the Elon Musk AOC dynamic, where he'll say, hey,

00:45:46.780 stop flirting with me. Come on, I'm shy. Hey, come on. And so he responds here, he goes,

00:45:50.660 your feedback's appreciated. Now pay $8. Because he's not charging $8 for free speech.

00:45:57.200 He's charging $8 for what he's referred to as the lords and peasants model of Twitter that has

00:46:03.740 prevailed until now, which is that if you're on Twitter and you have a blue check, I am one of

00:46:09.940 the blessed few who has a blue check. And it's true, you get amplified a lot more. You have a much

00:46:15.840 wider reach. It's considered not just a way to verify your identity, which is what it was supposed

00:46:20.720 to be, but it's considered a mark of prestige. This is why it was really strange back when in 2016 or

00:46:27.040 2017, the liberals took away Richard Spencer, the white identitarian political activist. They took

00:46:33.420 away his blue check mark, his verification badge. Well, if it's a verification badge, why would they

00:46:38.140 take it away? Did he stop being Richard Spencer? No, they took it away because they knew that it was a

00:46:42.140 mark of prestige and they wanted to take that prestige away from him. And so Elon Musk is coming

00:46:45.760 in and saying everyone should get the prestige. And the liberals, the Democrats, ironically, they say,

00:46:51.460 no, we don't want that. Is it about the $8? Elon also replied to AOC with a picture from her campaign

00:46:58.340 website where she is selling a purple sweatshirt, just a cheap purple sweatshirt for $58. He's like,

00:47:05.900 is $8 so hard for you? Also, AOC drove a Tesla. I don't know if she still does, but the woman

00:47:11.260 famously owned a Tesla. Okay, so she's doing very well and she clearly likes Elon Musk's products.

00:47:19.540 But in a way, it is just a perfect representation of the stakes in this election, which is the

00:47:26.420 Democrats are telling you that if you don't support them, you hate democracy. Meanwhile,

00:47:30.680 they do everything they possibly can to undermine democracy. Whether we're talking about trade deals,

00:47:36.000 whether we're talking about immigration, whether we're talking about election day,

00:47:39.280 or whether we're talking about your blue checkmark on Twitter, Democrats are the party of oligarchy.

00:47:46.660 Maybe they always were. They certainly are now. The Republicans are the party of democracy.

00:47:55.280 For better or for worse, that's the situation that we are in right now. And many people have

00:48:01.580 perceived that. And that's why people who not that long ago would have called themselves Democrats

00:48:12.520 flocking in droves to the Republicans. It's why the Democrats are trying so hard to suppress their
