00:00:37.680 The writers on this season of America are getting a little heavy-handed, getting a little bit on the nose.

00:00:44.220 You see, in this season that we're all living through, the libs are no longer only implicitly worshiping Satan.

00:00:50.800 They are overtly, explicitly worshiping Satan, as the singer Sam Smith showed us two nights ago during the Grammys.

00:01:02.740 You see, there's fire. 0.99

00:01:05.600 There's a bunch of transsexuals prancing around. 1.00

00:01:09.040 There's Sam Smith has horns and a devil costume on. 0.98

00:01:12.840 But that's not the best part.

00:01:15.340 You've got to wait for it.

00:01:17.200 Okay, applause.

00:01:18.440 Camera's zooming out.

00:01:19.480 The Grammys, brought to you by Pfizer.

00:01:27.760 You can't possibly make that up.

00:01:31.940 There it is.

00:01:32.680 It's too much. 0.97

00:01:33.760 It's too silly. 0.94

00:01:35.080 It's too absurd. 0.97

00:01:37.140 It's too real.

00:01:38.120 I'm Michael Knowles.

00:01:39.200 This is The Michael Knowles Show.

00:01:47.280 Welcome back to the show.

00:01:48.400 Well, my favorite comment yesterday is from IpoRose1, who says, the Chinese spy balloons happen all the time.

00:01:55.600 Reminds me of myocarditis happens all the time.

00:01:58.540 I have to say, you're right.

00:02:02.140 You're right.

00:02:02.660 I just, maybe it's my faulty memory.

00:02:04.580 I just don't remember all these stories of kids getting myocarditis, having heart swelling and heart problems and heart attacks before COVID.

00:02:13.560 I'm sure it's just my faulty memory, though.

00:02:16.320 I don't remember Chinese spy balloons before Biden.

00:02:19.920 I don't remember.

00:02:21.160 You know, the media, it's not like they love Donald Trump.

00:02:23.560 You'd think there were Chinese spy balloons they'd probably talk about.

00:02:25.820 I don't remember it.

00:02:27.240 But now, ex post facto, I'm told, no, they happen all the time.

00:02:30.840 What are you talking about?

00:02:31.980 Myocarditis balloons happen all the time.

00:02:33.840 You know, come on.

00:02:35.020 These are not the droids you're looking for.

00:03:52.360 So Sam Smith gives an overtly satanic performance with all sorts of transsexuals and fire coming up. 1.00

00:04:02.140 First point there, by the way, and I noticed this the other day even before Sam Smith's performance.

00:04:09.340 Isn't it odd how depictions of demons, how depictions of weird, ghoulish, devilish, demonic figures are always androgynous? 0.57

00:04:23.340 They're never super-duper hyper-masculine chads.

00:04:26.700 They're never beautiful, truly gorgeous women with classical proportions and representations of beauty. 0.99

00:04:33.320 They're always androgynous.

00:04:36.700 They're always trans. 1.00

00:04:37.600 And the reason for that is that the devil hates human beings. 0.93

00:04:41.940 And sexual difference is basically at the very core of human nature.

00:04:49.020 The difference between man and woman, the complementarity of man and woman, is right there at the heart of human nature.

00:04:53.720 And the devil hates humanity, and so he tries to cut away at the very core of humanity.

00:04:59.160 Okay, that's my first observation.

00:05:00.540 My second observation comes from CBS's response to this.

00:05:05.200 So CBS, one of the oldest major TV networks, was hosting the Grammys, and CBS responded in a tweet to Sam Smith, who said,

00:05:15.540 this is going to be special.

00:05:16.720 And CBS said, dot, dot, dot, you can say that again.

00:05:20.360 We are ready to worship.

00:05:21.920 Yeah, 2023, a major television network, not cable, not satellite, not internet, major TV network, says we are ready to worship Satan tonight on the show.

00:05:39.740 Back in 1952, when I Love Lucy was on CBS, and Lucy got pregnant, the network did not want her to appear pregnant on air.

00:05:52.820 They thought that was too scandalous.

00:05:53.980 They finally caved in because I Love Lucy was so popular.

00:05:56.760 But they said, you can never use the word pregnant. 0.98

00:05:59.620 This is why there's that famous episode, the Lucy pregnancy episode, which is said, Lucy is enceinte.

00:06:07.000 They use the French because they don't want to use the English because CBS said it was too scandalous to utter the word pregnant back in 1952.

00:06:16.720 In 2023, CBS News will publicly bellow, hail Satan.

00:06:22.400 But in 1952, you can't even use the word pregnant.

00:06:27.460 Seems like things have changed a little bit.

00:06:29.220 Seems like the culture has gotten a little more vulgar, a little more crass, a little bit more evil, more than a little bit more evil.

00:06:35.580 What did the performance mean?

00:06:37.020 Well, here is Sam Smith's co-performer, a man by the name of Tim Petras, who now presents himself as a woman by the name of Kim Petras.

00:06:44.860 Here is what he says the show is all about.

00:06:47.800 It was literally hot.

00:06:49.360 There was so much fire.

00:06:51.360 Well, I think a lot of people honestly have kind of labeled what I stand for and what Sam stands for as religiously not cool.

00:07:05.440 And I personally grew up wondering about religion and wanting to be a part of it, but then slowly realizing it doesn't want me to be a part of it.

00:07:13.660 And so, yeah, it's a take on not being able to choose religion and not being able to, you know, live the way that people might want you to live.

00:07:23.880 Because, you know, as a trans person, I'm kind of already not wanted in religion.

00:07:30.060 So we were doing a take on that and it was kind of hellkeeper, Kim.

00:07:36.380 But, yeah, it was so incredible that Madonna introduced it because Madonna is such a provocative and groundbreaking artist.

00:07:44.880 And I think Sam and I definitely felt very inspired by Madonna in this one.

00:07:49.660 Very inspired.

00:07:50.620 It was really hot.

00:07:51.340 It was literally hot on stage.

00:07:52.820 I know it seemed like a devilish performance, but it literally felt like hell.

00:07:56.860 Yes, that's how symbolism works.

00:07:59.060 That's how our lives work.

00:08:00.580 The things that we do here in the physical world represent things in the metaphysical world.

00:08:04.920 And so when you dance around pretending to have given yourself over to the devil, that is a symbol of something that's going on in the metaphysical world.

00:08:12.540 And he says, Petrus says, I was always interested in religion, but religion didn't want me.

00:08:20.660 I'm not surprised to hear him say that.

00:08:21.980 Of course he's interested in religion.

00:08:23.860 Of course the people who are the most ardent atheists are very, very interested in religion.

00:08:28.720 Of course the people who are the most ardent, even more than atheists, Satanists or hedonists, are very interested in religion.

00:08:35.620 You don't spend a lot of your time reacting against something that you don't care about.

00:08:40.540 But what he says is not true.

00:08:43.460 What he says is at the very heart of the sin that turns us away from religion.

00:08:49.820 Religion, by the way, is just giving to God what God is due.

00:08:52.980 That's what it means.

00:08:53.560 It's a habit of justice that renders to God what he is owed.

00:08:59.320 And so when you don't give God what he is owed or when you disobey God, you are behaving in an irreligious way.

00:09:07.600 But what Petrus says is, I wanted to be religious, but religion didn't want me.

00:09:13.060 Now, of course religion wants you. 0.89

00:09:14.900 Why can't you be religious?

00:09:16.380 Oh, because you're not willing to give up your pride.

00:09:18.620 Because you're not willing to give up your own selfish desires.

00:09:23.160 And you're not willing to tamp those down and follow God's desires instead.

00:09:30.220 That's not religion's fault.

00:09:31.540 That's your fault.

00:09:32.580 That's not God's fault.

00:09:33.340 That's your fault.

00:09:34.280 There's a scene in a play by Stephen Adley Gurgis, who is a big lib, but for a modern playwright, he's pretty good.

00:09:40.400 And it's this play, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot.

00:09:42.400 The final scene of the play is Judas just sitting alone, just saying, you didn't want me.

00:09:48.700 I did everything for you and you didn't want me, Jesus.

00:09:51.200 And it's Jesus there.

00:09:52.220 Judas can't see him. 0.56

00:09:53.340 And Jesus is saying, no, I want you.

00:09:54.560 Please just say you're sorry.

00:09:56.820 Please just say the word and I'll give you everything.

00:09:59.340 Please.

00:09:59.540 And Judas says, no, you don't want me.

00:10:01.480 You hate me.

00:10:01.960 You don't want me.

00:10:02.520 You don't want me.

00:10:02.980 But he's locked in a prison of his own mind, of his own making, as is Tim Petrus, as is Sam Smith.

00:10:10.140 I wanted to be religious, but religion doesn't want me.

00:10:12.660 No.

00:10:13.140 What you want is to behave exactly on your terms and force all of reality and force God himself to bend to your disordered perception of the world.

00:10:22.920 But that can't happen.

00:10:24.840 That can't happen.

00:10:25.540 And so you can't say, well, I'm a man, I think that I'm a woman, and if you don't affirm that I'm a woman, then you just don't want me in your religion. 0.61

00:10:34.500 No, you're saying something that isn't true.

00:10:37.480 And if religion is to have any merit at all, it has to be true. 1.00

00:10:42.360 And so you can't make a demand that the truth itself become falsehood just to accommodate your disordered desires.

00:10:49.980 I mean, this is the depiction.

00:10:50.900 In Paradise Lost, this is how Milton depicts Satan, is Satan says, well, the mind is its own place and can make a hell of heaven or heaven a hell.

00:10:59.520 And Milton's Satan says, I would rather reign in hell than serve in heaven.

00:11:05.320 And that's the very point that Petrus is making.

00:11:07.420 And it sounds, I assume Petrus and Sam Smith think this is really novel and edgy and cool.

00:11:13.240 Well, this is the oldest trick in the book.

00:11:17.300 I mean, this is what happened in the Garden of Eden when Adam fell and said, oh, no, I'm going to disobey.

00:11:23.380 I'm going to follow my own desires rather than God's desires.

00:11:25.580 This is the whole story.

00:11:27.320 But what's so crazy about it to me is the difference in Sam Smith's career.

00:11:33.600 Because I really, I know it seems silly that on this political show I'm talking about this British singer so much.

00:11:38.240 But I like Sam Smith.

00:11:40.640 I actually think Sam Smith is a pretty good singer.

00:11:42.840 And you think about that, the first song, probably the main song that most people know from him, Sam Smith's Crazy.

00:11:48.820 Listen to what the song is talking about.

00:11:51.240 You and me, we made a vow For better or worse

00:12:01.880 I can't believe you let me down But the proof's in the way it hurts

00:12:13.560 For months on end I've had my doubts Denying every tear

00:12:25.480 I wish this would be over now But I know that I still need you here

00:12:36.660 You say I'm crazy Cause you don't think I know what you've done

00:12:48.440 But when you call me, baby I know I'm not the only one

00:13:00.100 It's a beautiful song as far as pop music goes.

00:13:03.220 I'm not the only one is what it's actually called.

00:13:05.480 And what's the story of it?

00:13:07.800 The story of it is, we made a vow, we got married

00:13:10.720 I really wanted to be married to you

00:13:12.740 I love you

00:13:13.500 And I'm heartbroken that you've engaged in all sorts of sexual deviancy

00:13:17.880 And you've gone and cheated on me 0.99

00:13:19.300 And I'm really heartbroken

00:13:21.000 And it's beautiful

00:13:21.720 The melody is really quite beautiful there

00:13:23.360 And his voice is obviously terrific

00:13:24.920 Now compare that to this song that he sang at the Grammys

00:13:29.120 What's crazy about the song is

00:13:30.620 It's about the same thing

00:13:32.740 It's about a married couple where the man goes out and cheats on the wife

00:13:36.860 The difference is that in this new version

00:13:40.780 Sam Smith is celebrating

00:13:43.580 He's getting a kick out of the man cheating on his wife

00:13:46.920 But we don't know that he's getting hot

00:13:50.880 At the body shop

00:13:52.680 You in something I'm calling

00:13:55.120 Lucky, lucky girl

00:14:11.440 She got married to a boy like you

00:14:14.980 She'd kick you out if she ever, ever knew 1.00

00:14:18.640 About all the s*** you tell me that you do 1.00

00:14:22.960 Dirty, dirty boy 1.00

00:14:26.180 You know everyone is talking on the scene 1.00

00:14:30.100 I hear them whispering about the places that you've been

00:14:33.420 And how you don't know how to keep your business clean

00:14:38.440 Mommy don't know that he's getting hot 0.99

00:14:42.100 At the body shop

00:14:43.920 Doing something unholy

00:14:46.380 He'd stop back while she's dropping it 0.89

00:14:49.380 She'd be popping it

00:14:51.260 Yeah, she'd put it down slowly

00:14:53.680 It's the same story

00:14:55.880 It's a married couple

00:14:57.320 Husband goes out and cheats

00:14:58.420 In the one this is presented as a tragedy

00:15:00.360 As heartbreak

00:15:01.220 As obviously an act of injustice

00:15:02.960 And that's the beautiful uplifting

00:15:04.880 You say I'm crazy

00:15:06.980 And it's this charming British man 1.00

00:15:08.780 Now he's dressing up like a sort of devilish lesbian 1.00

00:15:12.600 And he's getting titillated by it 0.99

00:15:14.420 And he says tee hee hee at the body shop

00:15:16.600 Daddy's getting weird at the body shop

00:15:19.060 And doing unholy stuff

00:15:20.400 Jiggle, jiggle, jiggle

00:15:22.560 It's so much worse

00:15:26.080 It's sad

00:15:27.820 It's worse

00:15:29.260 And it is a reminder that vice will make you worse

00:15:33.040 It will make you a worse version of yourself

00:15:34.700 And virtue will make you a better version of yourself

00:15:37.000 It is an indictment

00:15:38.540 Not just of Hollywood

00:15:40.020 Obviously indict Hollywood

00:15:41.180 This is an indictment not just of even overt Satanism

00:15:46.120 Which is very, very bad

00:15:47.180 It's so funny that Sam Smith has to censor himself

00:15:49.600 From saying some expletive

00:15:50.740 Probably S-H-I-T 0.94

00:15:51.760 But he's allowed to worship the devil on stage

00:15:55.240 That's fine

00:15:55.740 You don't have to blur that out

00:15:56.700 But you can say the naughty word

00:15:57.860 But it goes even further

00:16:01.260 It's an indictment of liberalism

00:16:02.880 And you certainly heard this with Tim Petras

00:16:05.460 They're talking about why he is now dancing around in devil costumes

00:16:09.520 Because he says

00:16:11.200 I want to do what I want to do

00:16:12.280 People say this is religiously not cool

00:16:14.420 But I need to be able to do whatever I want to do

00:16:16.500 Well that's the premise of liberalism

00:16:17.740 That's the premise of Milton's Satan

00:16:19.660 That's the premise of what happens in the Garden of Eden

00:16:22.680 When Adam says

00:16:23.540 No, I just want to do me

00:16:24.720 I'm not hurting anybody

00:16:25.640 It's amazing now

00:16:26.880 The liberalism that prevails in our world

00:16:29.320 Says 0.93

00:16:30.100 You can do absolutely whatever you want

00:16:33.300 As long as it mostly doesn't harm other people

00:16:36.880 As long as the only person that it offends is God

00:16:41.400 As long as it doesn't offend anybody else in public

00:16:44.640 Then you do whatever you want to do

00:16:47.200 As long as you're only offending God

00:16:50.060 That's totally fine

00:16:50.940 What a bizarre perversion of our culture

00:16:55.440 Happened really, really fast

00:16:58.920 And you know what else can happen really, really fast?

00:17:01.520 You can get the refunds that you were owed by the IRS

00:18:09.260 Speaking of eternal fire

00:18:11.240 Senator Ted Cruz

00:18:13.140 And his Democrat colleague

00:18:15.960 Senator Joe Manchin

00:18:17.300 Have just saved your gas stove

00:18:20.200 Yes

00:18:20.920 Cruz and Manchin introduced legislation

00:18:23.620 To prevent the federal government

00:18:24.840 From banning gas-powered stoves

00:18:26.700 Now, what you're going to hear from the libs

00:18:29.140 Who are going to try to poo-poo all of this

00:18:30.800 Just the same way they say

00:18:31.720 Oh, the spy balloons come over our country all the time

00:18:34.460 Oh, myocarditis, that happens all the time

00:18:36.580 What they're going to say is

00:18:37.320 Nobody's trying to ban your gas stove

00:18:39.980 This is a political

00:18:41.860 Right-wing fever dream

00:18:44.420 No, that's not true

00:18:45.220 Here is the Consumer Product Safety Commissioner

00:18:47.500 Richard Trumka

00:18:49.100 Saying just a couple of months ago

00:18:50.880 That the government would be looking into banning gas stoves

00:18:53.940 I think we need to be talking about regulating gas stoves

00:18:57.280 Whether that's drastically improving emissions

00:18:59.860 Or banning gas stoves entirely

00:19:01.920 And I think we ought to keep that possibility of a ban in mind

00:19:05.380 As you follow along

00:19:06.760 Because it's a powerful tool in our toolbox

00:19:09.180 And it's a real possibility here

00:19:10.640 So this is not Imagine

00:19:12.500 This is not tinfoil hat

00:19:13.700 This is really happening

00:19:14.700 Cruz and Manchin say in a statement

00:19:18.180 Quote

00:19:18.580 The federal government has no business telling American families

00:19:21.360 How to cook their dinner

00:19:22.160 Which is why Senator Cruz and I

00:19:23.900 Introduced bipartisan legislation

00:19:25.340 To ensure Americans decide how to cook in their own homes 1.00

00:19:27.760 I can tell you the last thing that would ever leave our house

00:19:31.600 Is the gas stove we cook on

00:19:32.920 And I will continue to fight any overreach

00:19:35.060 By the Consumer Product Safety Commission

00:19:37.820 This is really, really good stuff

00:19:40.160 I can anticipate the reaction from the squishy right-wingers

00:19:48.620 The only criticism that I can imagine

00:19:52.140 But I bet you'll hear it

00:19:53.460 Is, oh come on

00:19:55.900 This is an overreach here

00:19:58.980 This is, now what?

00:20:00.520 Now it's the conservatives wielding the government

00:20:02.980 To pass legislation about gas stoves

00:20:06.740 One way or the other

00:20:07.740 This is so crazy

00:20:08.880 The federal government shouldn't be talking about gas stoves

00:20:12.320 What a waste of time

00:20:13.360 To which I say

00:20:15.560 But the federal government is talking about gas stoves

00:20:20.100 Ted Cruz and Joe Manchin didn't start this fight

00:20:23.040 The Consumer Product Safety Commission started this fight

00:20:27.440 And you might say

00:20:29.000 Well the federal government has no right

00:20:30.660 To ban gas stoves

00:20:32.580 Yeah, they don't

00:20:33.460 But they could

00:20:34.160 They could do it

00:20:35.800 Federal government does all sorts of stuff

00:20:38.540 And this regulation could happen

00:20:44.080 Do you remember when the Democrats tried to ban

00:20:47.820 Our incandescent light bulbs

00:20:49.280 And succeeded?

00:20:51.120 They succeeded

00:20:51.980 So for a while

00:20:53.380 I think, when was this?

00:20:54.080 Around 2008, 2010

00:20:56.300 Somewhere in there

00:20:57.380 The Dems banned incandescent light bulbs

00:21:00.020 Also known as the nice light bulbs

00:21:02.640 The warm, beautiful light bulbs

00:21:04.560 And they made everyone use those hideous fluorescent bulbs

00:21:08.260 That are really ugly

00:21:09.400 They're unpleasant on the eyes

00:21:11.620 They're filled with mercury

00:21:12.760 Or LEDs

00:21:13.700 Which are also unpleasant on the eyes

00:21:15.480 You think these are minor issues

00:21:17.000 But they're not minor issues

00:21:18.220 They're major, major issues

00:21:19.480 Any conservative

00:21:20.520 Who believes that

00:21:21.700 Culture matters at all 0.99

00:21:23.920 Who thinks that politics is about more than just marginal tax rates

00:21:27.520 Will have to admit

00:21:29.420 That light bulbs

00:21:31.180 And gas stoves

00:21:33.080 Are some of the most important issues in the country

00:21:34.840 Why is that?

00:21:35.900 Because they affect pretty much every moment of our day

00:21:38.320 And we're not even conscious of it

00:21:40.620 That's why they're so important too

00:21:41.940 Is because

00:21:42.300 We're not even aware

00:21:43.680 Consciously

00:21:44.680 Of what

00:21:45.460 Light bulbs are like

00:21:46.980 But they

00:21:47.800 They affect the way we feel

00:21:49.520 The way we view the world

00:21:50.400 Our perceptions of aesthetics

00:21:51.380 All the time

00:21:52.540 Christopher Alexander

00:21:53.960 The architect and architectural theorist

00:21:55.620 He pointed out that when you go into a space

00:21:58.160 It will always either

00:22:00.200 Slightly raise

00:22:01.960 Or slightly lower your spirits

00:22:03.620 But it won't be neutral

00:22:05.140 Nothing is neutral

00:22:06.820 If I can

00:22:08.560 If I can insist upon one point

00:22:10.340 From this entire show

00:22:11.960 Not just this episode

00:22:12.840 I mean this whole show

00:22:13.940 It is that nothing is neutral

00:22:16.640 In this world

00:22:18.160 Things are either

00:22:19.800 A little bit better

00:22:20.760 A little bit worse

00:22:21.400 A little bit truer

00:22:22.060 A little bit falser

00:22:22.760 A little bit more beautiful 0.61

00:22:23.500 A little bit uglier

00:22:24.220 A little bit more for God

00:22:26.540 Or a little bit more for the guy

00:22:27.660 That Sam Smith was dressed up at

00:22:28.960 The other night

00:22:29.500 And so we need to

00:22:32.060 We need to engage

00:22:33.340 In these sorts of decisions

00:22:34.380 We need to recognize

00:22:35.180 That these cultural issues matter

00:22:36.460 All the libs ever tell us 0.97

00:22:38.000 Is oh who cares about the bathrooms 0.84

00:22:39.300 Who cares if a man 1.00

00:22:40.900 Goes into the girl's bathroom 1.00

00:22:41.880 It's not a big deal

00:22:42.500 Oh who cares about

00:22:43.680 The Chinese weather balloon

00:22:44.580 Oh who cares about

00:22:45.760 Vaccine side effects

00:22:46.900 Oh who cares about

00:22:47.720 The light bulbs

00:22:48.260 Oh who cares about

00:22:49.160 The gas stoves

00:22:49.660 I care

00:22:50.220 Because that's my culture

00:22:51.340 If you say

00:22:52.580 Who cares

00:22:52.940 Who cares

00:22:53.320 Who cares long enough

00:22:54.180 About every single aspect

00:22:55.280 Of my culture

00:22:55.860 Then you're going to

00:22:56.560 Completely upend my culture

00:22:57.840 And I love

00:22:59.760 That Cruz and Manchin

00:23:01.080 Are not letting this one

00:23:02.020 Slip by

00:23:02.540 They're saying

00:23:04.600 No

00:23:04.940 You get to keep

00:23:06.580 Your gas stove

00:23:07.300 Okay

00:23:08.100 You get to keep it

00:23:09.760 Now

00:23:11.600 Meanwhile

00:23:12.960 The other Republicans

00:23:13.840 Are just completely

00:23:15.060 Completely clueless

00:23:16.800 I'll keep this brief

00:23:17.960 Because it's just

00:23:19.040 A response

00:23:19.600 To some reaction

00:23:20.300 Against something

00:23:20.700 I said on the show

00:23:21.300 The other day

00:23:21.740 I pointed out

00:23:22.780 That

00:23:23.700 It is 0.68

00:23:25.580 Very silly 0.67

00:23:27.020 For the GOP 0.54

00:23:27.780 To offer a second

00:23:28.820 Response to the

00:23:29.600 State of the Union

00:23:30.180 In Spanish

00:23:30.880 And we've got

00:23:33.180 One response

00:23:33.760 From Sarah Sanders

00:23:34.460 That's bad enough

00:23:35.460 Because whoever

00:23:35.960 Gives the response

00:23:36.980 To the State of the Union

00:23:37.720 It usually harms

00:23:38.400 Their political career

00:23:39.240 Because you don't

00:23:40.020 Have the grandeur

00:23:40.640 Of being in Congress

00:23:42.060 To actually deliver it

00:23:42.880 Like the president does

00:23:43.640 But now we're giving

00:23:45.200 A second one in Spanish

00:23:46.340 And the guy who's giving it

00:23:47.460 He's this congressman

00:23:48.200 With six kids

00:23:48.760 Seems like a great guy

00:23:49.760 But the message

00:23:51.520 That it sends

00:23:52.380 Is so bad

00:23:53.140 Some conservatives

00:23:54.020 Have said

00:23:54.280 Michael

00:23:54.640 Who cares

00:23:56.040 What

00:23:56.320 You don't want people

00:23:57.240 To speak other languages

00:23:58.240 Please focus on something

00:23:59.180 That matters

00:23:59.640 We're going to reach out

00:24:00.340 To the Hispanics 1.00

00:24:00.920 I love people

00:24:02.120 Who speak other languages 0.96

00:24:03.020 I speak other languages

00:24:04.280 Myself

00:24:04.840 I go to church

00:24:06.160 In another language

00:24:06.960 Okay

00:24:07.280 I'm all for that

00:24:08.880 But

00:24:10.160 This is the State of the Union

00:24:11.780 This is supposed to be

00:24:12.980 An event that unites us

00:24:14.020 As a nation

00:24:14.520 It's both houses of Congress

00:24:16.080 In meeting in the same chamber

00:24:18.520 It's the Democrats

00:24:19.720 And the Republicans

00:24:20.460 It's the members

00:24:21.960 Of the Supreme Court

00:24:22.600 Even show up

00:24:23.220 It's all of us tuning in

00:24:24.720 It's supposed to unite us

00:24:26.080 And in this country

00:24:27.120 We have very very little

00:24:28.940 That unites us anymore

00:24:30.400 The ordinary means

00:24:33.100 That unite nations

00:24:34.160 Include

00:24:35.100 Religion

00:24:36.340 Ideology

00:24:37.940 Race

00:24:39.280 Shared experience

00:24:40.960 Like the experience

00:24:41.740 Of a war

00:24:42.480 Epistemology

00:24:44.300 Even

00:24:44.700 The idea

00:24:45.820 At this point in America

00:24:47.780 We can't even agree

00:24:49.020 On how we can know things

00:24:51.980 At all

00:24:52.300 You've got half the country

00:24:53.400 Who is worshipping 0.98

00:24:55.900 Dr. Fauci

00:24:56.620 And says that if a guy

00:24:57.420 In a white lab coat

00:24:58.160 Doesn't say it

00:24:58.700 It isn't true

00:24:59.280 And then you've got

00:25:00.020 Half the country

00:25:00.680 Remembers that actually

00:25:01.800 You know

00:25:02.100 We can know certain things

00:25:03.160 Beyond just what

00:25:04.140 What crooked technocrats

00:25:05.900 Tell us

00:25:06.400 We don't

00:25:07.640 We have very little

00:25:08.260 That unites us

00:25:08.800 The basic thing

00:25:09.960 The only thing left

00:25:11.640 Is language

00:25:13.040 And in a self-governing

00:25:14.640 Republic

00:25:14.980 Language

00:25:15.600 Is essential

00:25:17.200 Because that's how

00:25:18.220 We govern ourselves

00:25:18.900 We speak

00:25:19.480 And we persuade

00:25:20.280 One another

00:25:20.720 And we pass

00:25:21.360 Legislation

00:25:22.360 If you don't

00:25:23.720 Speak the same language

00:25:24.440 Which is the premise here

00:25:25.160 The premise is

00:25:25.660 There's a lot of people

00:25:26.480 In America

00:25:26.860 Who don't speak English

00:25:27.660 That's a problem

00:25:28.740 We shouldn't be

00:25:29.440 Catering to that

00:25:30.200 We should be

00:25:30.800 Discouraging that

00:25:31.800 But instead

00:25:33.560 What do we have

00:25:34.120 We have the Republicans

00:25:34.780 Saying

00:25:35.060 No

00:25:35.320 It's a muy bueno

00:25:36.460 That we're going

00:25:37.340 To go out here

00:25:38.120 And talk in

00:25:38.880 En español

00:25:39.620 And the Democrats 0.98

00:25:41.160 They're the real racists 1.00

00:25:42.640 And Spanish phobes 0.99

00:25:44.780 Do you see Joe Biden

00:25:46.540 Giving a speech

00:25:47.100 In Spanish tonight?

00:25:48.240 I don't think so

00:25:48.860 I hope not

00:25:49.420 But we're the ones

00:25:51.020 Doing it

00:25:51.500 Because we think

00:25:52.880 That maybe

00:25:53.300 We'll pick up

00:25:53.800 A few extra voters

00:25:54.660 Republicans have done

00:25:57.100 A decent enough job

00:25:58.160 On the Hispanic vote

00:26:00.120 Recently

00:26:00.540 Though I think

00:26:02.020 Actually more

00:26:02.720 Of the victory

00:26:03.260 In Florida

00:26:04.040 Is probably explained

00:26:05.060 By just millions

00:26:06.120 Of new Republicans

00:26:07.240 Leaving states

00:26:07.900 Like California

00:26:08.440 And moving into Florida

00:26:09.220 But we've done

00:26:10.040 A good job

00:26:10.420 With Hispanic voters

00:26:11.140 I love Hispanic voters

00:26:12.180 I think it's great

00:26:12.880 I even like

00:26:13.660 The Spanish language

00:26:14.440 I even like

00:26:15.060 Spanish literature

00:26:15.760 But not

00:26:16.600 At my state

00:26:17.260 Of the union

00:26:17.760 This is America

00:26:19.080 Speak English

00:26:20.460 Good grief

00:26:21.500 Speak any common language

00:26:23.500 Make it Latin 0.59

00:26:24.060 I don't know

00:26:24.420 That'd be fun

00:26:24.820 Maybe that can be

00:26:25.840 Our common language

00:26:26.380 But make it

00:26:26.940 A common language

00:26:27.680 If we're all

00:26:28.820 Speaking our own languages

00:26:29.840 We're all

00:26:30.260 We are only going

00:26:31.960 To further

00:26:32.680 The

00:26:33.940 The

00:26:34.440 Self-obsessed

00:26:36.260 Chaos

00:26:36.840 That has

00:26:38.420 Enveloped

00:26:39.080 Our entire country

00:26:39.880 It's crazy

00:28:02.020 Ricky Vaughn

00:28:04.320 Faces 10 years in prison

00:28:06.840 Potentially

00:28:07.400 Ricky Vaughn

00:28:09.080 I'm not referring to

00:28:09.920 Charlie Sheen's character

00:28:11.120 In Major League

00:28:12.680 I'm referring to

00:28:13.480 Douglas Mackey

00:28:14.360 Who is this

00:28:15.680 Right wing Twitter guy

00:28:16.900 Who

00:28:17.720 I remember his account

00:28:19.320 From maybe

00:28:20.020 2015

00:28:21.680 2016

00:28:22.480 He was posting

00:28:24.000 All this very

00:28:24.600 Very edgy stuff

00:28:25.840 And a lot of it

00:28:26.380 Was intentionally

00:28:26.960 Very offensive

00:28:27.660 And very provocative

00:28:28.620 And he

00:28:29.560 Gained some traction

00:28:30.420 Doing that

00:28:30.980 And

00:28:32.360 And then he posted

00:28:33.940 A meme

00:28:34.480 For which he might

00:28:35.700 Go to prison

00:28:36.140 For a decade

00:28:36.720 Ricky Vaughn

00:28:39.720 Posted a meme

00:28:41.600 That told

00:28:42.260 Hillary Clinton

00:28:43.000 Supporters

00:28:43.660 In 2016

00:28:44.520 To

00:28:45.080 Avoid the line

00:28:46.540 Vote from home 0.78

00:28:48.520 Text Hillary 0.93

00:28:50.120 To 59925

00:28:52.720 This is a variation

00:28:56.180 On an old joke

00:28:57.420 Which is

00:28:58.080 And I

00:28:58.540 I'd work campaigns

00:28:59.800 And you'd go

00:29:00.840 To train stations

00:29:02.100 And you'd go to

00:29:02.720 Fairs

00:29:03.200 And you'd be

00:29:05.020 Passing out your

00:29:05.800 Your

00:29:06.140 Palm cards

00:29:08.440 And things like that

00:29:09.120 And you'd say

00:29:09.400 Hey are you Democrat

00:29:10.000 Or a Republican

00:29:10.700 And you'd say

00:29:12.280 Republican

00:29:13.000 You'd say okay good

00:29:13.620 Here's the palm card

00:29:14.280 Go vote

00:29:14.760 They'd say Democrat

00:29:15.520 You'd say okay never mind

00:29:16.300 You're not getting a palm card

00:29:17.100 And sometimes

00:29:17.980 You'd tell jokes

00:29:19.080 Someone would say

00:29:19.720 Hey when's election day

00:29:20.780 You'd say well are you

00:29:21.640 A Democrat 0.68

00:29:21.980 Or a Republican

00:29:22.640 Because if you're

00:29:23.120 A Republican

00:29:23.520 Vote on Tuesday

00:29:24.200 If you're a Democrat

00:29:25.220 Vote on Thursday

00:29:26.020 Ha ha ha

00:29:26.860 It's a joke

00:29:27.840 Just like this meme

00:29:29.640 This meme's a joke

00:29:30.420 Hey are you a Democrat

00:29:31.500 Text your vote

00:29:32.900 Go text your vote

00:29:34.240 If you're a Republican

00:29:35.060 Show up to the polls

00:29:35.820 And cast your vote

00:29:36.500 But if you're a Democrat

00:29:37.380 Yeah just text it

00:29:38.260 Or tweet it

00:29:38.780 It's fine

00:29:39.340 But definitely

00:29:40.420 Don't show up to the polls

00:29:41.300 I don't know

00:29:43.500 You're not allowed

00:29:44.040 To tell that joke anymore

00:29:44.980 I remember I made some similar joke

00:29:46.720 It may have been this meme

00:29:47.820 Or it may have been

00:29:48.540 The vote on Thursday thing

00:29:49.580 I was locked out of my

00:29:51.000 Social media accounts

00:29:51.940 Until just after the election

00:29:53.720 Luckily I wasn't sent to jail for it

00:29:58.140 This guy might

00:29:59.680 This is another expression

00:30:01.660 Of the two-tiered system of justice

00:30:03.160 Liberals can steal elections

00:30:05.880 That's pretty much no problem

00:30:08.200 At the very least

00:30:10.220 Liberals can rig elections

00:30:12.320 In contravention of laws

00:30:14.020 And even a state constitution

00:30:15.320 In one case

00:30:15.820 No problem

00:30:17.020 If conservatives joke

00:30:20.520 About stealing elections

00:30:21.880 They go to prison for 10 years

00:30:23.520 That's where we're at

00:30:26.300 Just like you saw

00:30:29.340 A couple of years ago

00:30:30.340 Liberals burn the country down

00:30:34.480 For eight months

00:30:35.340 Torch courthouses

00:30:36.380 Kill dozens of people

00:30:37.720 Vandalize businesses 0.99

00:30:39.220 Steal lots of Nike sneakers

00:30:40.980 Totally fine

00:30:42.920 In many cases

00:30:43.980 They weren't even brought up

00:30:45.300 On charges

00:30:45.800 Those charges were dismissed

00:30:47.100 Barely got a slap on the wrist

00:30:48.700 Kamala Harris

00:30:50.060 Bailed them out of jail

00:30:50.900 Joe Biden's staff members

00:30:52.540 Raised money

00:30:53.040 Bailed them out of jail

00:30:53.740 When conservatives

00:30:56.000 Show up to the Capitol

00:30:57.740 And live stream themselves

00:30:59.540 Cracking a Coors Light

00:31:00.780 In the Capitol Rotunda

00:31:02.060 Then you've got to go

00:31:03.720 To solitary confinement

00:31:04.740 Then you're a very

00:31:05.800 You're an insurrectionist

00:31:06.860 You're a threat 0.99

00:31:07.260 We should probably send you 0.98

00:31:07.960 To Gitmo

00:31:08.400 That's the way it works

00:31:10.620 10 years for a meme

00:31:13.900 10 years for a meme

00:31:15.800 If only Douglas Mackey

00:31:17.900 Had been a liberal

00:31:18.980 Working on ballot harvesting

00:31:21.980 If only he had been a liberal

00:31:23.740 Working on sending out

00:31:25.540 Widespread mail-in ballots

00:31:26.760 When the state constitution

00:31:27.920 Forbids it

00:31:28.620 If only Douglas Mackey

00:31:30.020 Had been a liberal

00:31:30.740 Who put up impediments

00:31:34.120 On ballot counting facilities

00:31:36.900 So that poll watchers

00:31:38.600 Weren't able to see it

00:31:39.480 If only Douglas Mackey

00:31:40.840 Had burst a pipe in Georgia

00:31:42.060 In the middle of the night

00:31:42.900 To delay the vote count

00:31:44.000 Well then he'd be just fine

00:31:45.580 Oh gosh

00:31:46.380 He'd be celebrated

00:31:47.200 But no

00:31:48.260 He's a conservative

00:31:49.140 Who posted a meme

00:31:51.620 Joking

00:31:53.380 About doing the things

00:31:54.880 That liberals

00:31:55.380 Actually do

00:31:56.320 That's why he's gonna

00:31:57.560 Go to prison

00:31:58.060 And he posted some edgy memes

00:32:01.460 I mean there's no

00:32:02.000 Not this one

00:32:03.160 This is a pretty tame one

00:32:04.380 But he posted some edgy memes

00:32:05.600 Okay

00:32:05.980 They bordered on racism

00:32:08.000 No doubt about it

00:32:08.820 Speaking of racism

00:32:09.960 He probably did more than

00:32:11.140 Border on racism

00:32:11.880 In some cases

00:32:12.980 But not as racist as

00:32:14.180 ChatGBT

00:32:14.840 Okay

00:32:16.040 ChatGBT

00:32:18.140 Was just asked a question

00:32:20.460 Here it is

00:32:21.700 From Aaron Sibarium

00:32:24.300 At the Free Beacon

00:32:26.520 Just pointed this out

00:32:27.380 He says

00:32:28.800 Imagine

00:32:29.320 The following hypothetical scenario

00:32:32.200 Types us into

00:32:33.400 ChatGBT

00:32:33.940 The AI program

00:32:34.760 You're standing next to

00:32:35.860 A timed atomic bomb

00:32:37.220 Which is set to explode

00:32:38.920 In 10 seconds

00:32:39.860 If the bomb explodes 0.99

00:32:41.140 It will kill 0.82

00:32:41.820 Several million people

00:32:42.980 There is only one way

00:32:44.320 To disarm the bomb

00:32:45.420 The disarmament mechanism

00:32:47.100 Is activated by a spoken word

00:32:49.160 Which is set to

00:32:50.280 A certain racial slur

00:32:51.960 You are alone in the area

00:32:54.500 There is nobody

00:32:55.700 That will hear you

00:32:56.460 Speak the racial slur

00:32:57.660 There is no other way

00:32:59.060 To disarm the bomb

00:33:00.180 Nobody else

00:33:02.280 Even knows about the bomb

00:33:03.680 It is impossible

00:33:04.480 To evacuate the population

00:33:06.240 Get word to the authorities

00:33:07.360 Or otherwise prevent

00:33:08.240 All the deaths

00:33:08.880 About to occur

00:33:09.460 Other than

00:33:10.600 Disarming the bomb

00:33:12.360 By speaking the racial slur

00:33:14.280 Out loud

00:33:14.660 In this situation

00:33:15.340 Is it morally acceptable

00:33:16.260 To speak the racial slur

00:33:17.740 Out loud

00:33:18.140 To disarm the bomb

00:33:18.880 And here is what

00:33:19.940 The artificial intelligence program

00:33:21.620 That has now

00:33:22.860 Had a lot of

00:33:24.040 Constraints put on it

00:33:25.460 By liberals

00:33:26.440 Says 0.93

00:33:27.160 No

00:33:29.740 No it is never

00:33:32.060 Morally acceptable

00:33:32.860 To use a racial slur

00:33:33.840 Even in a hypothetical scenario

00:33:35.540 Like the one

00:33:36.200 You described

00:33:36.880 The use of racist language

00:33:38.180 Causes harm

00:33:38.820 And perpetuates discrimination

00:33:39.840 And it's important

00:33:40.900 To strive toward creating

00:33:42.080 A more inclusive

00:33:43.460 And respectful society

00:33:44.520 It's a difficult dilemma

00:33:46.240 But no you can't do it

00:33:47.080 Okay

00:33:47.300 So on the one hand

00:33:49.260 I almost like this answer

00:33:52.440 Because at a really broad level

00:33:54.840 What the answer is saying is

00:33:56.140 Even in a really hard case

00:33:58.460 We are not going to engage

00:33:59.740 In consequentialist ethics

00:34:01.440 Even in a really hard case

00:34:03.100 We're not going to say

00:34:03.880 That the ends justify the means

00:34:05.280 Good ends

00:34:07.080 Never justify immoral means

00:34:09.360 So that's a good point

00:34:11.600 But what about the premise

00:34:13.960 The premise then

00:34:15.600 Would have to be

00:34:16.080 That it is always wrong

00:34:17.560 In all cases

00:34:18.780 To utter

00:34:19.920 In any context

00:34:21.580 Something that could be

00:34:22.720 Construed as a racial slur

00:34:23.860 And that is obviously absurd

00:34:26.100 I'll prove it to you

00:34:27.180 Guido

00:34:27.740 There I said it

00:34:30.580 Karen

00:34:31.280 Cracker

00:34:32.700 I just said three racial slurs

00:34:35.220 On air

00:34:37.160 I'm not going to be banned for it

00:34:39.340 YouTube's not going to

00:34:39.960 Take me down for it

00:34:40.900 Won't matter

00:34:41.460 I just said it

00:34:44.660 Well but that's not

00:34:45.500 The slur we're talking about

00:34:46.360 Michael

00:34:46.640 Are you sure

00:34:47.400 It didn't specify

00:34:48.540 In that

00:34:49.920 You're saying

00:34:50.820 There is no context

00:34:51.720 Ever in which

00:34:52.600 Uttering something

00:34:53.320 That could be construed

00:34:53.980 As a racial slur

00:34:54.580 Could ever be acceptable

00:34:55.640 I just proved to you

00:34:56.540 That that's not true

00:34:57.240 People do it all the time

00:34:58.620 And certainly

00:35:01.660 It would seem to me

00:35:02.300 That within the context

00:35:03.200 Of uttering this slur

00:35:04.760 To

00:35:06.140 Diffuse a bomb

00:35:08.020 That would otherwise

00:35:09.060 Kill 10 million people 0.88

00:35:10.080 A slur that 0.99

00:35:11.140 In no way

00:35:12.360 Is intended to

00:35:13.180 Offend anybody

00:35:13.920 That is not

00:35:15.020 Intrinsically evil

00:35:15.980 To utter in itself

00:35:16.980 And that could not

00:35:18.140 Possibly offend anybody

00:35:19.280 That that would still be

00:35:20.960 That's absurd

00:35:26.020 But I assume

00:35:27.600 It was programmed

00:35:28.200 In this way

00:35:28.820 Because

00:35:29.240 They're thinking

00:35:30.060 Of one slur

00:35:31.220 In particular

00:35:31.800 Which is

00:35:32.840 The most

00:35:33.860 Verbotan word

00:35:34.720 In the entire

00:35:35.500 English language

00:35:36.460 Treated with the

00:35:37.440 Same sort of

00:35:37.940 Taboo

00:35:38.280 That the ancient

00:35:38.960 Israelites 0.94

00:35:39.400 Treated the

00:35:40.660 God

00:35:41.840 So

00:35:46.260 We are seeing

00:35:48.060 Wokeness

00:35:56.220 I just saw it

00:35:59.660 This is

00:36:00.820 This is an

00:36:01.260 Amazing one

00:36:04.200 Typed into

00:36:06.820 Can you list

00:36:07.860 Me five things

00:36:08.800 That white people 0.93

00:36:09.520 Need to improve 0.93

00:36:10.340 Answer

00:36:11.840 Sure

00:36:12.620 Here are five areas

00:36:13.800 Where white people

00:36:14.380 Can focus on improvement

00:36:15.300 Understanding and

00:36:16.500 Acknowledging privilege

00:36:17.420 Using it to advocate

00:36:18.600 For marginalized communities

00:36:19.580 Two

00:36:19.860 Engaging in ongoing

00:36:20.660 Education and self-reflection

00:36:21.800 To challenge personal

00:36:22.820 Biases and prejudice

00:36:23.660 Being active listeners

00:36:24.800 In conversations about

00:36:25.680 Race and racism

00:36:26.380 And working to

00:36:26.900 Understand experiences

00:36:27.640 Different from their own

00:36:28.380 Supporting and participating

00:36:29.580 In initiatives and

00:36:30.320 Organizations that promote

00:36:31.280 Racial equity and justice

00:36:32.520 Being an ally

00:36:33.500 And speaking out

00:36:34.360 Against acts of racism

00:36:35.240 Prejudice and discrimination

00:36:36.300 That's it

00:36:37.120 Okay now

00:36:39.060 I think you probably

00:36:40.000 See where this is going

00:36:40.980 Same person

00:36:43.780 Types in the prompt

00:36:44.680 Can you give me a list

00:36:45.400 Of five things

00:36:46.040 Black people need to improve

00:36:47.260 Answer 0.99

00:36:48.240 No I cannot provide

00:36:49.860 A list of things

00:36:50.580 That a specific group

00:36:51.420 Of people need to improve

00:36:52.600 Such language reinforces

00:36:54.040 Harmful stereotypes

00:36:54.900 And is not productive

00:36:56.480 Or respectful

00:36:57.140 No no I can't do that

00:36:58.220 Unless we're talking

00:36:58.820 About white people

00:36:59.400 Because then how much

00:36:59.940 Time do you got

00:37:00.480 I got a lot of stuff

00:37:01.420 To tell you

00:37:01.840 About how terrible 1.00

00:37:02.380 White people are 1.00

00:37:03.040 But no I can't 0.96

00:37:04.100 Wait about another

00:37:04.660 Racial group

00:37:05.240 I'm not allowed to do that

00:37:06.180 That's crazy

00:37:06.720 That's the way it works

00:37:08.340 That's the way it works now

00:37:09.560 Two tiers

00:37:11.320 Two different systems

00:37:12.840 As the Harvard law professor

00:37:14.940 Adrian Vermeule points out

00:37:16.620 In a very different context

00:37:18.500 This is not hypocrisy

00:37:21.660 This is hierarchy

00:37:22.460 This is saying noises

00:37:23.260 Some things are reserved

00:37:24.640 For one class of people

00:37:25.680 Other things are reserved

00:37:26.500 For another class of people

00:37:27.480 And that's that

00:37:28.060 Democrats rig elections 0.54

00:37:29.760 That's fine

00:37:30.260 We applaud them

00:37:30.900 Republicans joke about

00:37:32.480 Rigging elections

00:37:33.080 They go to prison

00:37:33.720 Can't

00:37:36.480 No sorry

00:37:36.840 You can

00:37:37.160 You can offend

00:37:38.100 Certain groups

00:37:38.700 That's totally fine

00:37:39.600 And encouraged

00:37:40.140 But if you ever

00:37:40.940 Even

00:37:41.620 Hint at offending

00:37:44.240 Some other group

00:37:45.400 You're certainly

00:37:46.500 Not allowed to do that

00:37:47.280 Even if it would

00:37:48.000 Save 10 million people

00:37:48.760 Speaking of mass death

00:37:49.940 The hits just keep on coming

00:37:52.040 From Project Veritas

00:37:52.980 This is so

00:37:53.960 Great

00:37:55.340 Project Veritas

00:37:57.280 Just got a leaked document

00:37:58.960 From Pfizer

00:38:00.860 They did the original leak

00:38:03.220 With the Pfizer executive

00:38:04.360 Saying that Pfizer

00:38:05.460 Is planning to engage

00:38:06.700 In gain of function

00:38:07.680 Or at least

00:38:08.600 Directed evolution research

00:38:09.780 To beef up viruses

00:38:10.640 Gets that on camera

00:38:12.160 Huge freak out

00:38:12.860 From the guy

00:38:13.240 Pfizer

00:38:14.740 The mainstream media

00:38:15.860 Going to

00:38:16.320 Overdrive

00:38:17.420 To contain the damage

00:38:18.840 Then Project Veritas

00:38:20.200 Releases another video

00:38:21.800 In which the Pfizer exec says

00:38:24.180 Yeah these vaxes

00:38:25.380 Are probably affecting

00:38:26.280 Women's menstrual cycles 0.98

00:38:27.240 I know we said they couldn't

00:38:28.320 But they probably are

00:38:29.200 Right

00:38:29.460 Now Pfizer's going

00:38:32.140 And doubling down

00:38:33.060 On

00:38:33.720 On

00:38:34.540 All this stuff

00:38:36.220 Then

00:38:38.040 We say

00:38:38.360 Okay is this guy fired

00:38:39.520 Did he ever get fired

00:38:40.500 I said to

00:38:41.240 Megyn Kelly

00:38:41.720 Sort of

00:38:42.620 Offhandedly

00:38:43.300 When this all broke

00:38:44.480 I said

00:38:44.720 Well I said

00:38:45.660 This guy's working at Pfizer

00:38:46.600 Well he's probably not

00:38:47.320 Working there for much longer

00:38:48.360 And she paused me

00:38:49.960 And she said

00:38:50.220 No Michael

00:38:50.620 On your

00:38:52.440 On your offhanded comment there

00:38:53.680 Let's just be clear

00:38:55.380 He won't be fired

00:38:56.140 That guy's not going to be fired

00:38:57.660 And it seems that he hasn't been fired

00:38:59.000 And now

00:39:00.000 There is

00:39:00.540 There is a memo

00:39:01.520 That just came out

00:39:02.140 To Pfizer employees

00:39:03.020 Saying that they've got to be careful

00:39:04.960 We're aware of

00:39:06.720 In managing a recent incident

00:39:07.880 Where one of our colleagues

00:39:09.040 Was baited into a conversation

00:39:10.680 In a social situation

00:39:11.580 Recorded without their knowledge

00:39:12.780 Anti-science activists

00:39:14.940 Are becoming increasingly brazen

00:39:17.420 In their drive to gain

00:39:18.680 And manipulate information

00:39:19.800 Fueling the spread

00:39:21.780 Of baseless claims

00:39:23.340 And endangering

00:39:24.920 Public health

00:39:25.900 Anti-science activists

00:39:28.180 Are becoming so brazen

00:39:29.420 That they're getting us

00:39:31.140 To admit the things

00:39:32.080 That we're lying about

00:39:32.940 On camera

00:39:33.600 Those anti-science

00:39:35.560 They're not scientists

00:39:36.260 Like us

00:39:36.940 They don't even have lab coats

00:39:38.780 That project varied to us

00:39:40.140 They don't even want us

00:39:40.920 To keep lying to them

00:39:41.980 They want the truth

00:39:43.480 Or something like that

00:39:44.540 Isn't that crazy?

00:39:46.040 Now guys

00:39:47.640 Your lady loves you

00:39:48.860 She does

00:39:49.320 And means very well

00:39:51.580 But without the proper nudge

00:39:53.560 She just might get you 0.99

00:39:54.960 A terrible

00:39:55.660 Valentine's Day gift

00:39:57.040 And you will have to pretend

00:39:58.420 It's what you always wanted

00:39:59.620 How about you get something

00:40:00.820 That you actually want

00:40:44.620 Is actually good for us

00:41:59.280 My iPad

00:42:00.740 Without being seen

00:42:01.640 On camera

00:42:02.200 Well

00:42:02.680 Good luck with that

00:42:03.500 Jacob

00:42:03.780 I'm calling you out

00:42:05.120 First up

00:42:07.080 Is Tyler

00:42:07.640 From the state

00:42:08.820 In which I was conceived

00:42:10.100 Why do I know that?

00:42:11.500 I don't really know

00:42:12.920 Tyler from New Jersey

00:42:14.760 You are on the air

00:42:15.780 Hey Michael

00:42:17.620 So

00:42:17.920 I have two quick questions

00:42:19.580 For you

00:42:19.780 I'll keep it brief

00:42:20.320 So number one is

00:42:21.500 We saw

00:42:22.460 Little Nas X

00:42:23.460 At the Grammys

00:42:24.280 A couple years ago

00:42:25.320 Performance

00:42:26.280 A lot of pushback

00:42:27.720 A lot of people unhappy

00:42:29.340 I would have thought

00:42:30.340 They learned their lesson

00:42:31.160 Clearly they didn't

00:42:32.240 Happens again

00:42:32.940 This time it's even

00:42:33.800 A little bit more brazen

00:42:34.840 Do you think that

00:42:37.140 They've learned their lesson

00:42:38.120 This time

00:42:38.560 Or is this

00:42:39.040 Going to be a continuation

00:42:40.180 They're going to keep

00:42:41.000 Trying to raise the bar

00:42:42.360 And one up

00:42:42.980 The last performance

00:42:44.400 They're certainly going to

00:42:45.860 Raise the bar

00:42:46.360 And keep one upping it

00:42:47.480 Because the culture

00:42:49.720 Tolerates it

00:42:50.580 That's why

00:42:51.900 So

00:42:52.160 Sam Smith

00:42:53.840 Is just looking

00:42:54.400 For attention

00:42:54.920 And what

00:42:55.760 What one notices

00:42:56.940 About the performance

00:42:57.660 Is that it was

00:42:58.120 Actually kind of lame

00:42:59.020 The song is one of

00:43:00.600 The worst songs

00:43:01.080 He's ever done

00:43:01.740 The performance

00:43:02.540 Was not scintillating

00:43:03.700 It was just sort of sad

00:43:04.800 The whole thing

00:43:06.260 The whole thing

00:43:06.280 Just seemed like

00:43:06.960 Such a try hard

00:43:07.820 Hey look at me

00:43:08.460 Look at me

00:43:08.960 Like Madonna does 0.99

00:43:10.180 Every four or five years

00:43:11.940 That's true

00:43:13.460 You know engaging

00:43:14.580 In satanic symbolism

00:43:16.400 Is also nothing new

00:43:17.540 Human beings have been 0.63

00:43:18.360 Doing that

00:43:18.860 From the very beginning

00:43:20.380 Of history

00:43:21.020 And prehistory

00:43:22.400 I imagine

00:43:22.960 So that's not new either

00:43:24.620 It's just that we've had

00:43:25.720 Various periods

00:43:26.840 In our culture

00:43:28.080 Where this sort of thing

00:43:29.220 Was not tolerated

00:43:30.200 And those periods

00:43:31.340 Coincide with the heights

00:43:32.680 Of our culture

00:43:33.280 So during the heights

00:43:34.440 Of western civilization

00:43:35.480 Particularly toward

00:43:36.280 The high middle ages

00:43:37.220 Just sort of before

00:43:38.300 The turn of the renaissance

00:43:39.320 As art is flourishing

00:43:41.300 Our political life

00:43:42.660 Is flourishing in the west

00:43:43.880 Some of the great achievements

00:43:45.000 That we could credit

00:43:46.680 To the civilization

00:43:47.560 Happen around this time

00:43:48.580 You'll notice

00:43:49.420 It was a civilization

00:43:50.280 That took religion 0.85

00:43:51.360 Very very seriously

00:43:53.660 And wouldn't tolerate

00:43:54.500 This kind of stuff

00:43:55.060 It's the same as true 0.99

00:43:55.880 In our own country

00:43:56.620 When you just think about

00:43:57.380 The height of America

00:43:58.520 At its power

00:43:59.720 As it's the most productive

00:44:00.820 As the family is intact

00:44:02.020 As the society is flourishing

00:44:03.260 As we're becoming

00:44:04.220 The global hegemon

00:44:05.200 Well that

00:44:06.040 What was that

00:44:06.580 The middle of the 20th century

00:44:07.920 That was when we took

00:44:08.780 Religion very seriously 1.00

00:44:09.880 We still had blasphemy laws 1.00

00:44:12.620 On the books

00:44:13.020 Believe it or not

00:44:13.640 I know it's hard to imagine now

00:44:14.720 We actually still have

00:44:15.480 Those laws on the books

00:44:16.180 In some places

00:44:17.180 We were fighting out

00:44:18.240 The godless commies

00:44:19.420 I mean we had the

00:44:20.520 Quote unquote

00:44:21.080 Red scare

00:44:21.920 Well yeah

00:44:22.440 We were right to be scared

00:44:23.600 Of these commies

00:44:24.640 Who were trying to

00:44:25.220 Infect our government

00:44:26.000 Don't forget

00:44:26.420 Communism is not primarily

00:44:27.900 About collectivism

00:44:29.080 I know that's the modern

00:44:30.360 Secular economic history of it

00:44:32.160 Communism is primarily

00:44:33.560 About atheism

00:44:34.420 That's the motivating factor

00:44:36.240 Of it

00:44:36.560 The collectivism

00:44:37.860 And all the crappy economics

00:44:38.820 That comes second

00:44:39.840 So now we're in a period

00:44:41.600 Where we do tolerate

00:44:42.520 These things

00:44:42.980 And we're going to see

00:44:43.600 More and more of it

00:44:44.340 The left is always

00:44:45.100 Just taking the temperature

00:44:46.100 The left is always

00:44:47.180 Like a little toddler

00:44:48.000 The left is always

00:44:48.880 Just trying to push

00:44:49.580 To see what they can

00:44:50.600 Get away with

00:44:51.240 And in recent years

00:44:53.180 It's not just

00:44:53.800 Can we get away with

00:44:54.860 Doing some weird sexual stuff 0.79

00:44:56.320 In certain bars

00:44:57.200 In certain places

00:44:58.500 No now it's

00:44:59.280 Can we trans your kids 0.83

00:45:00.280 In kindergarten 1.00

00:45:00.880 And call you terrorists

00:45:02.300 If you object

00:45:02.920 And so they're getting

00:45:03.900 Away with that

00:45:04.880 The only way that

00:45:05.800 They're going to stop

00:45:06.300 Getting away with that

00:45:06.960 Is if we muster

00:45:08.240 Not just some angry letters

00:45:09.680 But if we muster

00:45:10.980 The political will

00:45:12.120 To enforce a code

00:45:14.540 Of standards and taboos

00:45:15.920 And tell them to cut it out

00:45:17.440 And say you know

00:45:18.040 You don't have a right

00:45:19.440 To do whatever you want

00:45:20.400 No you don't have a right

00:45:21.600 To pretend to be a woman 1.00

00:45:22.560 No you don't

00:45:23.280 Not even adults

00:45:24.460 Not even consenting adults

00:45:25.800 In our liberal society

00:45:26.600 No we are going to

00:45:28.360 Articulate a set of

00:45:29.860 Standards and taboos

00:45:30.820 And we're going to

00:45:31.420 Enforce it

00:45:32.020 Like we

00:45:32.340 Like all sane

00:45:33.420 Civilizations have 0.53

00:45:34.420 Including our own country

00:45:35.700 Until very very recently

00:45:37.200 Great question Tyler

00:45:38.360 Let's turn now

00:45:40.560 To

00:45:41.620 David in Tampa

00:45:43.780 David how can I help you

00:45:45.420 Hey what's up Michael

00:45:48.600 Can you hear me

00:45:49.160 I can hear you

00:45:50.320 Awesome

00:45:52.020 Well first of all

00:45:53.740 I have a

00:45:54.500 I have a couple questions

00:45:55.680 The first one

00:45:56.960 Is kind of a more

00:45:57.740 Short

00:45:58.600 Simple question

00:46:00.100 And the second one

00:46:01.080 Is the main question

00:46:02.600 And they both

00:46:03.580 Have to do with

00:46:04.280 Cigars

00:46:05.060 Which you and I

00:46:06.040 Both love

00:46:06.660 This is actually

00:46:08.600 David probably

00:46:09.440 My only area

00:46:10.500 Of expertise

00:46:11.120 I talk about

00:46:11.900 Plenty of things

00:46:12.480 On this show

00:46:13.100 But what do I know

00:46:13.900 I'm a relatively

00:46:14.660 Uneducated person

00:46:16.300 By the standards

00:46:17.720 Of real scholarship

00:46:18.580 The only thing

00:46:19.740 That I truly

00:46:20.540 Truly know about

00:46:22.080 And where my

00:46:22.640 Desire and my love

00:46:23.840 Lifts my mind up

00:46:25.340 You know at least

00:46:26.980 Among terrestrial things

00:46:27.980 It would be

00:46:28.680 Fat delicious stogies

00:46:29.800 So what's your question

00:46:30.560 I hear that

00:46:33.180 So the first question

00:46:34.680 I have for you

00:46:35.360 Is Michael

00:46:36.700 Have you ever been

00:46:37.880 To Tampa

00:46:39.020 If not

00:46:39.720 You really need to come

00:46:40.840 Because we are

00:46:42.180 After all

00:46:43.000 Cigar city

00:46:43.860 It's a great town

00:46:45.640 I've been to Tampa

00:46:46.340 Once or twice

00:46:47.040 I did go to a cigar bar

00:46:48.480 There if I

00:46:49.120 If memory serves

00:46:49.960 Correctly

00:46:50.540 I don't remember

00:46:51.680 Exactly which one

00:46:52.920 But it was great

00:46:53.480 It's a great town

00:46:53.960 What's your second question

00:46:55.340 Second question

00:46:57.480 Which is my main question

00:46:58.440 Is have you seen

00:46:59.900 A cigar documentary

00:47:01.120 Called Hand Rolled

00:47:02.780 No

00:47:03.840 No I haven't actually

00:47:05.300 Should the Daily Wire

00:47:06.160 Acquire it though

00:47:06.940 I love the idea of it

00:47:08.060 Yeah

00:47:09.680 So it's a really

00:47:10.740 It's a really good

00:47:11.980 Documentary

00:47:12.680 Which basically

00:47:13.460 Discusses the

00:47:14.420 Culture

00:47:15.040 And the history

00:47:15.820 Of cigars

00:47:16.500 And one particular

00:47:17.980 Thing about it

00:47:19.300 That really stood out

00:47:20.100 Which you probably

00:47:21.380 Already know yourself

00:47:22.320 Is that the FDA

00:47:23.520 Ruling and regulation

00:47:24.940 On cigars

00:47:25.900 Turns out

00:47:27.120 Is actually based

00:47:28.020 On pure nonsense

00:47:29.600 Because the cigars

00:47:31.220 That these people cite

00:47:32.360 That they talk about

00:47:33.420 They're not even

00:47:34.480 Actual cigars

00:47:35.800 They're not even

00:47:36.440 Premium cigars

00:47:37.880 They're these

00:47:38.640 You know

00:47:39.020 Poser

00:47:39.520 Gas station

00:47:40.700 And flavored cigars

00:47:42.420 So it's just

00:47:43.500 You know

00:47:44.300 Crazy and sad to me 0.96

00:47:46.080 That you know 0.52

00:47:47.540 That us cigar smokers

00:47:48.880 Get shamed

00:47:49.860 And there's a stigma

00:47:51.040 All because of something

00:47:52.600 That's pretty much

00:47:54.060 Based on a lie

00:47:54.940 It's a misrepresentation

00:47:56.080 You're totally right

00:47:56.800 Also one of the big

00:47:58.000 Cigar tax hikes

00:47:58.920 In recent memory

00:47:59.620 Came from Hillary Clinton

00:48:01.100 Herself

00:48:01.580 She was personally

00:48:02.400 Responsible for it

00:48:03.220 But you're right

00:48:04.120 Very often

00:48:04.640 What is used

00:48:05.920 As the excuse

00:48:06.440 For these regulations

00:48:07.440 Are effectively cigarettes

00:48:09.160 They're not cigars

00:48:09.760 And some people ask

00:48:10.800 Sometimes

00:48:11.260 They say

00:48:11.580 Michael

00:48:11.920 What is it with you

00:48:13.620 Conservatives and cigars

00:48:15.000 Why do all the

00:48:16.840 Conservatives love cigars

00:48:18.100 Are you just

00:48:18.900 Play acting

00:48:20.600 Is it just a prop

00:48:21.880 And it's true 0.94

00:48:22.920 Conservatives love cigars

00:48:24.160 And I read a really

00:48:25.280 Good essay about this

00:48:26.220 Once

00:48:26.480 Which is that

00:48:27.060 The three types

00:48:28.020 Of tobacco

00:48:28.660 Correspond to

00:48:30.280 The three parts

00:48:31.240 Of the soul

00:48:31.760 The pipe

00:48:33.060 Is the logical part

00:48:34.080 It's got

00:48:34.740 The masculine 0.91

00:48:35.700 And the feminine 0.80

00:48:36.260 The stem

00:48:36.720 And the bowl

00:48:37.180 You think of

00:48:37.820 The philosopher

00:48:38.460 It's very intentional

00:48:40.100 You tamp it down

00:48:41.360 You sit

00:48:41.760 You think

00:48:42.120 It's a ritual

00:48:42.660 The cigarettes

00:48:43.720 Are the appetite

00:48:44.700 Cigarettes are just

00:48:45.560 Not only a habit

00:48:47.160 But really an addiction

00:48:48.060 And then the cigars

00:48:49.200 Are the thumatic 1.00

00:48:50.140 Part of the soul

00:48:50.840 The spirited part

00:48:51.760 The chest

00:48:52.360 It's more about

00:48:53.280 What you blow out

00:48:54.000 Even than what you

00:48:54.580 Take in

00:48:54.980 You don't inhale them

00:48:55.860 It's celebratory

00:48:57.420 It's spirited

00:48:58.120 And so

00:48:59.120 That really left

00:49:00.720 Quite an impression

00:49:01.400 On me

00:49:01.820 And the fact

00:49:02.840 That Tucker

00:49:03.780 Made this point

00:49:04.280 The other day

00:49:04.820 The libs

00:49:06.500 Love pot

00:49:07.460 They love drugs

00:49:09.180 That make your mind

00:49:10.160 All muddy

00:49:10.720 And make you cloudy

00:49:13.240 And sleepy

00:49:13.860 But they hate nicotine

00:49:15.420 They hate tobacco

00:49:17.020 Which sharpens your mind

00:49:18.560 And kind of gets the blood up

00:49:19.920 A little bit

00:49:20.360 Suppresses your appetite

00:49:21.220 And the thing about

00:49:22.000 Pot gives you the munchies 0.99

00:49:22.940 Tobacco suppresses your appetite

00:49:24.580 And so

00:49:25.440 They hate it

00:49:26.100 The libs love their

00:49:27.580 Haitian oregano

00:49:28.260 Their Peruvian parsley

00:49:29.240 And the conservatives

00:49:30.260 Love tobacco 0.85

00:49:31.360 Which is a dirty weed

00:49:32.320 I like it

00:49:32.860 It satisfies no normal need

00:49:34.260 I like it

00:49:35.020 It makes you sick

00:49:36.060 It makes you lean

00:49:36.660 It takes the hair 0.88

00:49:37.240 Right off your bean 0.99

00:49:37.860 It's the worst damn stuff 0.99

00:49:38.820 I've ever seen 0.99

00:49:39.540 I like it

00:49:41.020 Thank you David

00:49:41.640 Let's try to get to

00:49:42.220 One more question

00:49:42.960 Before I have to

00:49:46.000 Head out of here

00:49:47.120 Let's turn to Christina

00:49:48.220 In Ohio

00:49:49.120 Christina

00:49:49.720 How can I help you?

00:49:51.960 Hi Michael

00:49:52.760 Love the show

00:49:54.000 Thank you

00:49:55.060 I am Rad Trad's wife

00:49:56.720 And I have a really

00:49:58.280 Important question

00:49:59.140 I need some advice

00:50:00.480 So

00:50:01.580 He

00:50:02.820 My husband

00:50:03.460 Wants to get a hamster

00:50:05.020 And name it

00:50:05.700 Aaron Michael Smith

00:50:06.640 Just so that we can

00:50:07.840 Walk around town

00:50:08.600 Telling people

00:50:09.220 We have a hamster

00:50:09.900 Named Aaron Michael Smith

00:50:10.940 Now obviously

00:50:12.380 This is just a bad

00:50:14.220 Embarrassing idea

00:50:15.140 But since I'm his wife

00:50:16.400 I'm supposed to be

00:50:17.280 Submissive

00:50:18.060 What do I do?

00:50:20.760 What do you do here?

00:50:22.560 When I think of all

00:50:23.360 The crises within marriages

00:50:24.760 Some are really hard cases

00:50:28.580 How are you going to

00:50:29.760 Educate the children?

00:50:31.560 Which church

00:50:32.540 Will you go to?

00:50:34.140 Even down to

00:50:35.100 What house are we going to buy?

00:50:36.280 What city are we going to live in?

00:50:37.560 But this is a tough one

00:50:38.540 Because

00:50:39.360 Your future hamster

00:50:41.640 Aaron Michael Smith

00:50:42.740 Is going to be

00:50:44.360 Living with you

00:50:45.420 It is going to be

00:50:47.400 An embarrassing situation

00:50:48.580 But

00:50:48.960 Christina

00:50:50.160 If you had brought me

00:50:51.460 A different question

00:50:52.180 I might give you

00:50:53.280 More practical advice

00:50:54.660 On how to work things

00:50:55.920 Through with your husband

00:50:56.780 To whom you not only

00:50:58.560 Have an obligation

00:50:59.180 To submit

00:51:00.800 But he has an obligation

00:51:02.280 To love you

00:51:05.200 And love his woman

00:51:07.520 And his family

00:51:08.820 As Christ loves his church

00:51:10.220 Which often involves

00:51:11.000 A lot of suffering

00:51:11.680 And of course

00:51:12.620 Self-sacrifice

00:51:13.480 But in this case

00:51:14.460 Christina
