When my friends and I left California three years ago,
00:00:09.760
And now, even California officials are admitting we were right.
00:00:15.620
After more than a century of long-term population growth,
00:00:19.620
the state of California is now officially predicted to stagnate.
00:00:25.200
California today has about 39 and a quarter million people.
00:00:28.380
A decade ago, that number was predicted to grow to 53 million by 2060.
00:00:36.060
Just three years ago, that prediction was adjusted down significantly to 45 million.
00:00:42.420
And last week, the California Department of Finance adjusted the prediction down once more
00:00:47.180
to 39 and a quarter million, the same number that we have today.
00:00:53.080
Which means that if the trend of prediction adjustments keeps up,
00:00:56.980
it's likely that California will die not of mere stagnation, but of mass exodus.
00:01:04.100
And California is not the only liberal state losing people.
00:01:07.260
New York is facing the exact same problem as the state's comptroller grudgingly just admitted on TV.
00:01:14.620
In terms of our budget planning process in New York, we have the somewhat strange calendar of the fiscal year.
00:01:21.740
The budget planning process starts on April 1st, and of course, you don't have your heart tax collection date until April 15th.
00:01:27.420
So the budget that was put in place, you know, frankly, was based on more optimistic numbers.
00:01:32.340
But, you know, in the current financial plan, division of budget is taken down each year for the next few years,
00:01:40.820
And, you know, we're now slightly ahead of current updated projections, which have been lowered.
00:01:47.620
But the weakness, Neil, has been in the personal income tax collections.
00:01:50.820
And some of that has to do with taxpayer migration that you alluded to.
00:01:55.120
But I think as much of it's just reflective of a slowing economy right now.
00:02:03.000
Forget about tax revenue and New York or whatever.
00:02:06.500
Just as a matter of politics, just as a matter of rhetoric, that is what we observers of rhetoric call an excrement sandwich.
00:02:15.200
That is where you wedge the bad news in between perfectly fine and ordinary news.
00:02:20.740
Yes, tax receipts are down because of the bad economy and the mass exodus and the bad economy, of course.
00:02:46.380
Forget about the consequences of what that means for the red states.
00:02:51.960
Forget for a moment about what that means for national unity or whatever.
00:02:56.420
Just take a moment to savor at least one consolation of being a conservative,
00:03:01.300
which is that eventually, after a long time perhaps, consequences catch up with bad government.
00:03:09.120
Eventually, after a long time, might take decades, reality reasserts itself in the end,
00:03:15.720
as it is reasserting itself in New York and California today.
00:03:34.120
In just a moment, we have a middle-aged white guy from the Civil Air Patrol
00:03:38.700
talking about how terrible middle-aged white guys are
00:03:41.060
and sending a message to any white guy who might want to join the military
00:03:47.580
First, though, I want to zoom out internationally
00:03:52.640
and this reflection in public opinion polls and people's behavior,
00:03:57.860
It's not just happening in New York and California.
00:04:06.000
I mean, I'm not literally in Hungary right now.
00:04:07.920
I'll be flying out to Hungary almost immediately after this show,
00:04:12.080
and I'll be giving a speech outside of Budapest on Friday.
00:04:15.280
So if you're in town, happen to be in the neighborhood,
00:04:21.380
It's the Hungarian translation of my first blank book,
00:04:26.420
a comprehensive guide that is now available in Hungary starting today.
00:04:31.440
But it's not just Hungary that's gone pretty conservative.
00:04:40.140
Spain right now is looking at its first properly right-wing government
00:04:52.480
polls are showing that the conservative popular party,
00:04:55.720
which is the sort of center-right, mainstream, regular old,
00:05:00.920
kind of squishy Republican Party equivalent in Spain,
00:05:04.200
led by Alberto Nunez Feijo, I'm sure I'm mispronouncing that,
00:05:09.040
has enough support to unseat the Socialist Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez,
00:05:13.940
but doesn't have enough support to get an outright majority,
00:05:16.680
which means that the kind of center-right, conservative-ish party
00:05:19.940
is going to have a form of coalition government
00:05:21.800
with a properly conservative party, which is the Vox Party, means voice.
00:05:35.540
So with the properly conservative party as the kingmaker,
00:05:45.020
and we'll get to why I say potentially in a second,
00:05:52.660
Saying neither globalist agendas nor separatist concessions
00:06:00.320
This issue of water, this issue of environmentalist policy,
00:06:06.860
where conservatives, where ordinary people are seeing
00:06:10.240
the liberals and the squishes and the globalists
00:06:16.760
or even worse, prioritizing regular old wildlife
00:06:31.320
hey, the Spanish people should have access to water.
00:06:46.120
The conservatives are coming in and they're saying,
00:06:55.940
and the basic traditional desires of ordinary people.
00:07:09.640
and they're going to vote for the conservatives.
00:07:15.660
oh, if you sleep well, you sleep eight hours a night,
00:07:23.720
Right now, head on over to GenuCell.com slash Knowles.

because the liberals still have a lot of power.
00:09:06.500
like you saw in the initial Muslim invasion of Spain.
00:09:40.140
And the specific answer on all of those things,
00:10:06.640
There's a great line from the Christian writer,
00:44:25.920
long life, 96 years old, cut down in his prime,
00:44:31.280
He died after a battle with Alzheimer's disease.
00:45:01.220
the kid, even though Bennett was a pretty old man
00:45:03.520
And so that generation of music, that crooning,
00:45:13.300
comportment for some people of that generation,
00:45:19.980
Now, public comportment for our popular musicians
00:45:26.720
But Tony Bennett and Sinatra and all those guys,
00:45:32.080
and they would sing, and they would sing in a way
00:45:37.700
And a reminder, by the way, I know some people say
00:45:44.540
If you've ever said RIP, you have prayed for the dead.
00:45:48.860
RIP means may he rest in peace, requiescat in pace.
00:45:51.200
So requiescat in pace, Tony Bennett, great guy,
00:45:54.920
provided us a lot of great stuff over the years.
00:45:57.180
And I don't look forward to seeing his hologram,
00:45:59.100
but I do look forward to playing more of his music.
00:46:07.140
I've got to go gallivant around Budapest, you know,
00:46:09.120
and be part of the right-wing conspiracy out there.
00:46:10.740
So anyway, we'll look forward to a member block next week.
