Ep. 1375 - Elon Musk's Thermonuclear Lawsuit On Woke "Fact Checkers"

Summary

The moment court opens today, Elon Musk is reportedly going to destroy the left-wing cancel mob and Michael Knowles publicist Media Matters with facts and lawsuits. The promise from Musk comes after a report from Media Matters last week alleging that X, formerly known as Twitter, is serving up mainstream corporate ads next to neo-Nazi content.

00:00:37.680 The moment court opens this morning, Elon Musk is reportedly going to destroy left-wing cancel mob
00:00:44.360 and Michael Knowles publicist Media Matters with facts and lawsuits.
00:00:50.180 The promise from Musk follows a report from Media Matters last week
00:00:54.180 alleging that X, formerly known as Twitter, is serving up mainstream corporate ads next to neo-Nazi content.
00:01:05.200 Booga, booga, booga.
00:01:05.920 Very scary.
00:01:07.280 The biggest corporations in the country immediately took the bait.
00:01:10.180 Apple, IBM, Disney, Warner Brothers Discovery, Comcast, NBCUniversal, Lionsgate, Paramount Global
00:01:16.120 all announced they were pulling ad money from the platform.
00:01:21.460 Here's the report.
00:01:22.380 Very scary.
00:01:22.880 It looked like Media Matters had won.
00:01:25.920 They had finally caught Elon with his pants down until Elon pulled up the back-end data
00:01:32.480 and discovered that Media Matters had made the whole thing up.
00:01:38.280 According to the actual X logs, of the 5.5 billion ad impressions that were served the day that Media
00:01:46.660 Matters conducted its research, fewer than 50, not 50 million, not 50, 5-0, were served alongside the content highlighted by Media Matters.
00:01:57.860 The data showed that for one brand showcased in the article, two of its ads served adjacent to two posts three times, and that ad was only seen in that setting by one user, the author of the Media Matters article.
00:02:16.160 In other words, the whole thing was a hoax.
00:02:19.200 Media Matters made a bunch of dummy accounts and then gamed the algorithm relentlessly until they could get even a handful of examples to back up its fraudulent claim.
00:02:28.900 All of which prompted Musk to declare, quote,
00:02:31.860 Now, the split-second court opens on Monday.
00:02:35.000 X Corp will be filing a thermonuclear lawsuit against Media Matters and all those who colluded in this fraudulent attack on our company.
00:02:43.080 Now, I am torn.
00:02:45.100 On the one hand, Musk is obviously right.
00:02:49.540 And frankly, we've all known that Media Matters and the other left-wing cancel groups, the ADL, Right Wing Watch, all the rest of them, have been pulling this sort of fraud for years.
00:02:59.280 This is what they do.
00:03:01.080 But on the other hand, I love the free publicity that Media Matters gives me.
00:03:06.520 I love it.
00:03:07.220 There are at least two Media Matters employees who are paid to watch my show and then clip out and promote the best segments from my show.
00:03:16.960 They do it better than the Daily Wire employees do a lot of the time.
00:03:20.900 It's faster.
00:03:21.900 It's before my show's over.
00:03:22.900 They've got the clips up.
00:03:24.740 But I am willing to put my selfish desires aside for the good of the country.
00:03:30.640 If it wasn't clear before, it should be now.
00:03:32.800 Now, Elon's buying Twitter was a complete game-changer for conservatives.
00:03:38.840 It gave us our first foothold into the big tech platforms that control our public square.
00:03:43.940 Elon is taking a lot of slings and arrows for us, but the foothold seems to be working and scaring the libs to death.
00:03:50.920 And they're scared because they know that big tech censorship was indispensable to their rigging of the 2020 election.
00:03:57.500 And if 2024 is a rematch, as it's looking like it will be, then their inability to censor conservatives this time around might, might just cost them the election.
00:04:09.780 I'm Michael Knowles.
00:04:10.720 This is The Michael Knowles Show.
00:04:11.540 Welcome back to the show.
00:04:31.700 It's finally here.
00:04:32.500 The best deal of the year.
00:04:33.760 50% off new Daily Wire Plus annual memberships.
00:04:36.820 Go to dailywire.com slash subscribe right now to join.
00:04:40.200 Kanye West has a new song.
00:04:43.440 We'll get to it.
00:04:44.500 But first, I don't want to move on quite yet from these radical libertarian wrenches in the left-wing system that govern us.
00:04:54.020 Not just Elon Musk, but also the soon-to-be president of Argentina, Javier Millet, who no one really knows anything about.
00:05:04.400 But I think a lot of people, especially on the right, realize represents a major change in Argentina and a change that is positive and a lurching to the right.
00:05:15.600 Here is just one clip from Mr. Millet.
00:05:18.680 I'll translate.
00:05:19.820 He goes, you can't give SHIT leftards an inch.
00:05:23.620 Can you define SHIT leftist?
00:05:25.560 The interviewer asks.
00:05:26.780 All collectivists, all kinds of collectivists.
00:05:29.040 Well, why do you call them SHIT?
00:05:31.800 Because they are SHIT.
00:05:33.900 If you think differently from them, they will kill you.
00:05:39.800 This is the point.
00:05:40.860 You can't give SHIT leftists an inch.
00:05:43.780 If you give them an inch, they will use it to destroy you.
00:05:46.840 You can't negotiate with leftards.
00:05:49.260 Oh, my goodness.
00:05:51.040 You don't negotiate with trash because they will end you.
00:05:53.940 That's this guy.
00:05:56.000 When he won, he just starts jumping around the stage.
00:05:58.920 He's got crazy looking hair.
00:06:00.720 He is very much a Trumpian figure.
00:06:04.680 In the looks, in the bombastic language, in the political program, he has a more right-wing populist kind of agenda.
00:06:13.140 That not issue for issue, but almost issue for issue, maps onto Trump, which is great.
00:06:18.480 That's good news for Argentina.
00:06:19.600 But, you know, it's just not in the conservative ethos to just jump for joy and be totally happy and say the future is going to be bright.
00:06:32.480 It's not.
00:06:32.860 We always need a little wrinkle in there, okay?
00:06:35.840 And here's the little wrinkle, is that you could describe Javier Millet as a radical right-wing conservative, I guess.
00:06:45.020 But you could probably more accurately describe Javier Millet as a radical liberal.
00:06:52.140 He's a radical libertarian.
00:06:54.940 He has certain eccentric political views.
00:06:59.320 He's rapt philosophic about the benefits of tantric sex and orgies and things like that.
00:07:06.520 He has described using media, media meaning like the plural of mediums, like psychic mediums, to communicate with dogs.
00:07:17.900 And he's described channeling the spirits of Ayn Rand.
00:07:22.460 And so I don't mean any of this to knock him, okay?
00:07:25.360 I just want to point out, he's not, this isn't going to be the reestablishment of the Holy Roman Empire over here.
00:07:32.420 He's a radical libertarian.
00:07:35.120 And that is preferable to some radical progressive leftist.
00:07:39.740 But it's not quite the same thing as a traditionalist conservative, okay?
00:07:44.200 And if you look around the political environment, a radical libertarian might be the first step that we need.
00:07:54.660 We might not have a whole lot of other options here, okay?
00:07:57.000 I don't think we're going to have a Jacobite rising and the restoration of, you know, the old regime in France or anything like that, okay?
00:08:03.920 We might, this might be the best that we can get.
00:08:06.860 Javier Millet is really good on abortion, it seems.
00:08:10.480 He's really good on crime.
00:08:11.640 He's really good on economic flourishing.
00:08:17.080 He's an economist by trade.
00:08:18.840 He's really good on recognizing threats from the political left.
00:08:23.000 He's really good on inspiring the people, bringing the people in, you know, that deplorable, irredeemable hoi polloi that the leftists hate.
00:08:32.360 He brings them into a popular political movement.
00:08:34.740 One hopes that his election heralds good things for the future, just as the Brexit in the UK was a sign, augured very well, and made it seem as though Donald Trump might be elected and then he was elected in 2016.
00:08:48.480 Perhaps Millet's election in 2023 in Argentina shows good signs for 2024 in the United States.
00:08:55.160 But when you look at all the really big right-wing wins, they tend to come from more libertarian-minded people.
00:09:05.040 Javier Millet was asked about homosexuality.
00:09:07.300 And there are other right-wing strongmen, you know, in Latin America who have had clearer views on family, on the complementarity of the sexes, on tradition and social order.
00:09:23.540 Someone like Jair Bolsonaro who said, no, we're not going to be encouraging pride parades.
00:09:28.500 Let's put it that way.
00:09:29.840 And Millet is not one of those.
00:09:31.600 Millet seems to be totally fine with some of the aspects of the sexual revolution in much the same way that Trump is.
00:09:38.360 You know, don't forget, Trump was the most pro-LGBT candidate ever to run for office, I think, in either party.
00:09:44.880 He was more pro-LGBT during his race in 2016 than Barack Obama was during his first race.
00:09:50.700 So, I just don't want us celebrating too much, okay?
00:09:57.880 I love that Millet was elected.
00:10:00.620 I think it bodes well for Argentina and for the world.
00:10:04.740 But I'm not going to say three cheers for Javier Millet yet.
00:10:07.660 I'm going to say two cheers for Javier Millet.
00:10:09.660 And we'll see what happens.
00:10:12.160 He's got a kind of social conservatism to him.
00:10:15.000 He's clearly got an opposition to the radical leftists.
00:10:18.360 But can we channel this reaction against collectivism?
00:10:24.060 Can we channel this reaction against the leftist lunatics, the, in Javier Millet's words, S-H-I-T, libtards, or whatever leftards that he calls them?
00:10:33.620 Can we channel that popular sentiment into a profound and enduring coherent conservatism?
00:10:41.400 I hope so.
00:10:42.600 We'll have to see.
00:10:44.020 Now, one thing that those radical libertarians love is gold.
00:10:47.780 So, you've got to check out Birch Gold.
00:10:49.420 Right now, text Knowles to 989898.

00:11:52.580 That is Knowles, K-N-A-W-L-A-S, to 989898.
00:11:55.360 Speaking of potentially decisive conservative wins, Speaker Mike Johnson has now promised to release 44,000 hours of January 6th footage.
00:12:09.140 So, Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats, they had all the January 6th footage, but they realized that it contradicted their fraudulent narrative that they had made.
00:12:17.620 The January, sorry, sorry, excuse me, I'm sorry, I misspoke.
00:12:20.600 I meant to say, January 6th, the worst day in the history of this or any republic the day that democracy almost collapsed.
00:12:33.000 We were told that it was an insurrection, a near coup d'etat that nearly shredded the Constitution.
00:12:39.900 Democracy just was on the brink of total annihilation.
00:12:45.340 Or sacred temple of democracy, the Capitol was attacked, which wasn't even true.
00:12:50.480 It was just a bunch of eccentric people walking through the Capitol compared to the actual leftist attacks on the Capitol that have happened at least half a dozen times in recent decades.
00:13:01.400 Where radical leftists set off bombs, started shooting congressmen, that sort of thing, which happened not in the distant past, but just some decades ago.
00:13:11.640 We were told that January 6th, the podium guy, you know, the Nancy Pelosi lectern guy waving at the cameras or the horn hat guy walking through getting a private tour guided by the Capitol police of the Capitol, that that was the grave threat to democracy.
00:13:22.540 Turned out not to be true.
00:13:23.960 Tucker Carlson was able to release some of the January 6th footage.
00:13:28.060 Now Mike Johnson says he's going to release the rest of it.
00:13:31.360 Brandon Strzokka had a good take on this, which is he tweeted out just a little bit of footage showing a handful of people walking through the Capitol.
00:13:40.220 Again, not tearing things down, not shooting people, not vandalizing anything.
00:13:46.140 There's one guy in particular, he's wearing a red MAGA sweater and he's just, he's just videoing.
00:13:50.200 He's walking very politely.
00:13:53.200 There are Capitol police there.
00:13:54.560 They're just letting him do it.
00:13:55.540 They don't really, no, no one's seems all that nervous.
00:13:59.000 Certainly no one seems violent at all.
00:14:00.260 The cops don't seem worried in the least.
00:14:03.440 And they keep walking.
00:14:04.660 There's more cops there.
00:14:05.800 Okay.
00:14:06.200 They're just, they're just walking.
00:14:07.500 Everyone's chilling.
00:14:08.080 They'll be sitting there sipping a cup of coffee.
00:14:12.240 No big deal, right?
00:14:13.760 So that guy in the red sweater who's taking the video, his name is Matthew Perna.
00:14:20.240 Sorry, let me rephrase that.
00:14:21.700 His name was Matthew Perna.
00:14:24.120 He was calmly walking through the Capitol and then he was charged by the left-wing Gestapo.
00:14:31.180 And he was told that he might face six to 12 months in prison if this thing went to trial.
00:14:37.660 And so he just pled guilty.
00:14:39.720 He said, okay, I'm going to plead guilty so I don't need to go to prison for six to 12 months.
00:14:42.920 After he pled guilty, Joe Biden's DOJ informed him that it would seek a terrorism enhancement to his sentencing.
00:14:51.060 Because, I don't know, maybe that's the same iPhone that Al-Qaeda uses or something.
00:14:56.180 I don't know what on earth could possibly justify a terrorism enhancement.
00:14:59.880 This happened to a lot of the January 6thers though.
00:15:02.420 So he was told he would face a terrorism enhancement which could raise the sentence to a potential nine years in federal prison.
00:15:07.500 But hey, they already tricked him into pleading guilty.
00:15:09.240 So they had him, right?
00:15:10.980 Four days after receiving that news, Matthew went into his garage and put a rope around his neck and hanged himself.
00:15:17.000 Not the only case of total despair coming from this political persecution that was not really grounded in reality.
00:15:28.140 How many lives were ruined for this hoax?
00:15:31.120 Who's responsible for that?
00:15:33.120 Nancy Pelosi, certainly.
00:15:34.580 The Democrats, certainly.
00:15:35.800 Liz Cheney, certainly.
00:15:37.200 Adam Kinzinger, certainly.
00:15:38.360 Them, perhaps more than the others even.
00:15:41.340 Because they were fake conservatives, you know, rhinos.
00:15:47.080 They were Republicans in name only in the truest sense of that term.
00:15:50.180 Meaning that their entire raison d'etre in Washington was to put on a performance as a Republican.
00:15:59.620 But at all the crucial moments, they would side with the Democrats.
00:16:03.360 Whenever it really counted, whenever the Democrats needed some semblance of an actual opposition, they would sit on the January 6th committee.
00:16:13.840 But the January 6th committee, ostensibly investigating what happened on January 6th, actually served the opposite purpose.
00:16:20.840 They covered it up.
00:16:22.460 It was a big hoax.
00:16:24.780 And they made sure that as long as they had any power at all, they would keep the tapes that showed what really happened on that day, that exculpated a lot of people, they would keep that to themselves.
00:16:38.280 And people died because of that.
00:16:41.040 The only people who died in the political violence and subsequent political persecution of that day were conservatives.
00:16:54.780 Or were people who felt hounded by the left?
00:16:59.320 The only person who died in the political violence of that day was Ashley Babbitt.
00:17:02.520 She was killed by a trigger-happy cop.
00:17:03.920 She was a Trump supporter.
00:17:05.480 And then how many people killed themselves because of the hounding from the left?
00:17:10.140 So anyway, Mike Johnson is going to release all that.
00:17:12.700 And I think it's really, really important, really, really important that we, in as much as we possibly can, hold these people to account.
00:17:19.540 Because we are told by the left and by the squishes, move on from 2020.
00:17:23.920 Move on.
00:17:24.420 Don't talk about it anymore.
00:17:25.360 This is one of the biggest attacks on Trump.
00:17:26.880 Stop talking about January 6th and stop talking about the 2020 election.
00:17:31.400 How are we going to stop talking about it?
00:17:33.180 We're running again, almost certainly with the same candidate.
00:17:36.060 There are still people who are being prosecuted.
00:17:39.420 There are people who have sat in prison for years because of the nonsense of the January 6th investigators and prosecutors.
00:17:47.200 And we're probably going to have a rematch of the 2020 election.
00:17:51.380 So if you don't change any of the rigging, if you don't shed some light on the ways that the left cheated and persecuted people who had the audacity to vote against the ruling party, the Democrats, how are you possibly going to have a fair election in 2024?
00:18:06.620 Can't do it.
00:18:08.060 The only way out is through.
00:18:09.840 Okay, guys, you can't just move on and keep your—I guess if you want to be like a Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger Republican, and you want to just lose with dignity,
00:18:17.200 no dignity involved whatsoever, by the way, then fine.
00:18:20.180 But if you want to be an actual conservative, an actual Republican, you can't just move on.
00:18:24.300 What the left did in 2020 and in the days following 2020 was horrific, was a resetting of our political order, and was downright evil in these cases that led to despair and death and imprisonment for bogus reasons.
00:18:38.940 You can't just move on from that.
00:18:40.640 You've got to fix that if you don't want it to happen again in the future.
00:18:43.500 Speaking of that insurrection, insurrection, a Colorado judge was just tasked with deciding whether or not to kick Donald Trump off the ballot because the left is arguing that Donald Trump is disqualified from running again under the 14th Amendment because the 14th Amendment says,
00:19:03.740 if you've ever been a traitor and you've led an insurrection against the country, then you are disqualified from public office.
00:19:14.260 And the judge just ruled that that is a ridiculous argument.
00:19:18.760 Of course it's a ridiculous argument.
00:19:20.300 And actually, the way that this judge issued the ruling is particularly devastating for the left-wing case because this judge is not some Trump appointee.
00:19:29.840 She's not some Republican.
00:19:31.120 She's a left-wing judge.
00:19:33.000 She was appointed by the left-wing Democrat governor of Colorado.
00:19:36.620 And she even believes that January 6th constituted an insurrection.
00:19:43.000 And still, she says, that this argument is ridiculous.
00:19:46.400 She ruled that the insurrection clause of the 14th Amendment does not apply to the presidency.
00:19:53.460 Even though the Capitol riot was a, quote, insurrection and that she believes Trump meant to, quote, incite political violence.
00:20:00.560 I love this.
00:20:01.240 Even some hysterical lib judge in Colorado, which has become super left-wing ever since they legalized the Haitian oregano.
00:20:11.140 Everyone's just walking around high as a kite all the time, muttering ridiculous lib phrases like insurrection and political violence or whatever.
00:20:19.100 And even still, she says, she put the bong down long enough.
00:20:23.720 I don't want to accuse her of being a pothead.
00:20:25.880 You know, we're in a new era.
00:20:27.420 Snoop Dogg is giving up weed.
00:20:28.620 I don't want to make some claim based on nothing that this judge is a big pothead.
00:20:33.080 She's a liberal.
00:20:33.920 It's bad enough.
00:20:34.780 And even she acknowledges.
00:20:36.620 Even she acknowledges.
00:20:38.320 Guys, this 14th Amendment insurrection, it's complete nonsense.
00:20:42.460 You can't keep the man off the ballot for that.
00:20:44.880 And I think what's implicit in all of these cases is the only reason they're trying to keep Trump off the ballot is because they know that if they put him on the ballot, a lot of people, maybe most people, maybe most people in the crucial states,
00:20:57.680 are going to vote for him, just like they did in 2016.
00:21:01.900 Very important.
00:21:04.440 And why might people want to reelect Donald Trump?
00:21:07.300 Well, one reason, one big reason for me, is that he's the most pro-life president in my lifetime, and he was instrumental and an essential piece of the story of getting Roe v. Wade overruled.
00:21:19.620 If you're a pro-lifer, you've got to check out Preborn.
00:21:21.760 Right now, go to preborn.com slash Knowles.
00:21:23.740 We talk about Preborn a lot on this show.
00:21:25.520 It's because we believe in their mission, and we know that you do, too.
00:21:28.680 Who would not want to help mothers and their children in crisis?
00:21:31.800 Preborn is an organization dedicated to saving the lives of the unborn.
00:21:35.680 Every day, Preborn's network of clinics rescues 200 babies as they compete head-to-head with the abortion giants.
00:21:43.280 They offer free ultrasounds to mothers considering abortion, and once she sees her baby and hears its heartbeat, she is twice as likely to choose life.
00:21:51.760 It basically doubles the baby's chance at surviving.
00:21:55.720 And right now, through a matching program, your tax-deductible gift is itself doubled.
00:22:00.980 100% of your gift will go toward providing free ultrasounds to mothers in crisis, as well as supporting mothers and their babies with diapers, car seats, counseling, and more.
00:22:10.900 Now's the time of the year.
00:22:12.320 Everyone's writing their checks.
00:22:13.960 It's time to get the write-offs.
00:22:15.220 I usually wait until New Year's Eve.
00:22:16.500 Don't be like me.
00:22:17.200 Do it now.
00:22:18.520 Double down today by dialing pound 250.
00:22:20.920 Say the keyword baby.
00:22:22.220 That is pound 250, or go to preborn.com slash Knowles, preborn.com slash K-N-O-W-L-E-S.
00:22:28.420 Speaking of legal attacks on liberal strongholds, the Department of Education is now investigating seven schools, seven colleges and universities, including three Ivy League schools, four alleged incidents of anti-Semitism and anti-Muslim harassment.
00:22:49.440 Those schools include Lafayette, Wellesley.
00:22:55.260 Isn't Wellesley the school that What's-Her-Face went to, that my cousin, Hillary Clinton, went to?
00:22:59.480 I think so.
00:23:00.560 Cooper Union and a public school district in Kansas, so not even just the colleges and universities.
00:23:09.220 And then of the Ivy League schools, Columbia, Cornell, and UPenn.
00:23:14.040 This is obviously a problem at these campuses.
00:23:17.340 I was just at Cornell, and I was at Cornell one week after some kid threatened to murder all the Jews on campus and slit the throats of the Jewish men and do all sorts of unspeakable things to the Jewish women and even was threatening Jewish babies.
00:23:30.380 And it was really, I mean, this is real.
00:23:31.740 I'm not denying that this is real.
00:23:33.800 There are obviously threats and harassment against Jewish students, for sure.
00:23:39.300 And the DOE is trying to be even-handed here, and they're saying, we're going to investigate anti-Islamic incidents, too.
00:23:46.420 I haven't seen a ton of those.
00:23:47.940 I haven't heard about a lot of those.
00:23:49.740 But I don't know.
00:23:50.600 Maybe those are happening, too.
00:23:51.700 I'm not going to say that they're certainly not happening.
00:23:55.080 And both of those things certainly should be investigated.
00:23:57.700 And absolutely, I'm all, I am fine with the state going after these big bloated schools that are little more than indoctrination centers for leftism.
00:24:07.860 But I got to ask, what about the anti-Christian harassment?
00:24:12.880 I'm not denying in any way that there is anti-Jewish harassment.
00:24:18.680 And I'm somewhat skeptical, but I'm willing to grant that there's anti-Islam harassment.
00:24:23.200 What about the anti-Christian harassment?
00:24:24.840 And if you're going to look at this from a racial point of view, if you're saying, well, they're attacking the Jews because the Jews are a tribe, or they're attacking the Muslims because they're Arab, and there's anti-Arab sentiment.
00:24:35.020 Okay, yeah, maybe there is.
00:24:36.580 I don't deny any of that.
00:24:38.180 What about the anti-white sentiment, which is pervasive at all of these schools?
00:24:43.440 There's one big distinction between these various types, the anti-Jewish, the anti-Muslim, the anti-Arab, versus the anti-Christian, and often the anti-white.
00:24:55.160 The big distinction is, in the former category, those incidents are kids or townspeople just vandalizing things, I don't know, drawing swastikas, an offhanded comment here or there.
00:25:12.120 In the case of the anti-Christian and anti-white harassment, that's coming from the classrooms.
00:25:16.880 Okay, and those incidents are not happening late at night at an off-campus party or through vandalism on a dorm room wall.
00:25:23.900 The anti-Christian and anti-white harassment is coming from the faculty and the administration.
00:25:28.600 It's coming from professors who say that we need to abolish whiteness, that that's a goal worth pursuing.
00:25:33.180 It's coming from the professors in the administration who are decrying Christianity as an awful imperialist religion that's completely bogus anyway, and even if it weren't bogus, has led to all sorts of terrible things through all of human history.
00:25:44.920 That's a big distinction, and I'm opposed to all of it.
00:25:48.800 Yeah, keep that, I love it, keep that investigation up of the anti-Islam even and the anti-Semitism and the, sure, keep those investigations up.
00:25:59.380 Now, when are we, it's not going to be under the Biden administration, but when are we going to have the political cojones and the correct moral vision and the spine?
00:26:10.580 Let's talk about other anatomical features that are a little closer to the intellect.
00:26:14.660 When are we going to have the courage and the moral clarity to stand up against that?
00:26:19.100 Because that is the kind of harassment that is happening with the official sanction of the universities, the professors, and the administrators.
00:26:28.360 Now, speaking of the Jews and the Muslims and the war in the Middle East, the United States is reportedly close to a deal for a at least temporary ceasefire to free some hostages.
00:26:39.240 This is being reported now in the press, and it's being widely reported that this deal would free dozens of women and children held hostage in Gaza in exchange for a five-day pause in the fighting, say people familiar with the emerging terms.
00:26:55.020 And I actually, I was having a little bit of a debate on this issue with Professor Jacob this morning, because this, I assumed this was just a good thing.
00:27:03.040 But Professor Jacob said, well, if you have a five-day ceasefire, then Hamas might be able to reconstitute itself.
00:27:09.680 So it's not a totally uncontroversial thing.
00:27:12.700 I still think it's good.
00:27:14.400 I think that's what we want.
00:27:15.760 The reason I think this is good is because the hostages are the key issue here.
00:27:21.640 The hostages, one, I think it's good to free the hostages.
00:27:24.640 I don't want the hostages to be held hostage any longer by Hamas and these other lunatics.
00:27:28.920 But two, the hostages are the key point of escalation here.
00:27:35.140 So long as the hostages are being held in Gaza, the war can't end.
00:27:40.060 And the prospect of escalation, whether that's from Iran, whether that's from Lebanon, whether that's from China and Russia, whether that's from the United States, whether that's from the Houthis in Yemen, whether that's from who knows?
00:27:50.860 We've already got a lot of powers involved in this war.
00:27:53.800 The prospect of escalation is much, much higher.
00:27:56.740 So I'm all for it.
00:27:58.920 I'm not backing necessarily the popular left-wing call for a total ceasefire to say, well, you know, Gaza's been punished enough or something.
00:28:07.980 I totally recognize that the state of Israel cannot tolerate the security risk of another October 7th attack, cannot tolerate the security risk of Hamas continuing to rule in Gaza.
00:28:19.040 Totally recognize that.
00:28:20.420 Frankly, if Hamas is allowed to continue to govern in Gaza, in the long run, that's probably going to lead to a greater likelihood of war.
00:28:29.360 But if we could get a brief ceasefire in exchange for hostages, that seems, I think, good for everybody, but it's certainly good for the U.S. interest.
00:28:41.340 I am all for it.
00:28:42.880 Now, speaking of foreign affairs, speaking of China, China, Xi Jinping was just in our country.
00:28:49.600 And, you know, they fixed up San Francisco for him.
00:28:54.740 It's amazing.
00:28:56.160 We've been told by the liberal politicians who run San Francisco and California for years that they can't do anything about it.
00:29:01.880 The bums on the streets, the criminals, the vagrants, the people dying of exposure, the druggies.
00:29:06.200 There's nothing that can be done.
00:29:07.500 And then Xi Jinping shows up for, what, two days?
00:29:10.040 And San Francisco all of a sudden is completely better.
00:29:12.340 Can we get Xi Jinping to go on a national tour?
00:29:15.040 Can we bring him to New York and D.C., Seattle and Chicago?
00:29:19.180 Oh, man, bring Xi Jinping to Chicago.
00:29:21.260 They'll have that place cleaned up overnight.
00:29:23.380 I'm not a big fan of the Chinese Communist Party, but look, I'm a pragmatic fellow.
00:29:27.940 If Xi Jinping taking a brief vacation to one of our cities manages to clean it up after decades of liberal neglect, I'm all for it.
00:29:36.080 Let's go.
00:29:36.760 Now, the other big announcement that came with Xi's arrival here is that China has now launched the world's fastest internet.
00:29:47.340 This is internet with a 1.2 terabit per second link.
00:29:50.560 This is not only blowing the U.S. out of the water on this technology, but it's also years ahead of the forecasts for China getting this technology.
00:29:59.400 The Chinese network can now send the equivalent of 150 movies per second.
00:30:04.180 This is three times faster than the nearest rival in the United States, two years earlier than industry forecasts.
00:30:13.300 This has got to be scary stuff if you are a bellicose American patriot who doesn't want China to overtake you on the world stage.
00:30:21.800 Because what we do, especially American conservatives, is we lie to ourselves.
00:30:26.520 And we say, oh, those Chinese communists, they're communists.
00:30:30.740 So they've got some economic system that's never going to work.
00:30:32.980 Look, we already beat communism.
00:30:35.320 We won the Cold War.
00:30:36.500 Same thing's going to happen in China.
00:30:37.560 We don't need to worry about it.
00:30:38.820 Forget about it.
00:30:39.460 Oh, things are bad in China, actually.
00:30:41.200 They've got problems.
00:30:42.700 Oh, look, I read about it in Western media.
00:30:44.280 So they've got problems.
00:30:45.140 I'm not worried at all.
00:30:46.240 You should be somewhat concerned.
00:30:49.280 I don't ever think anyone should live in servile fear or stay up at night worrying about some foreign country.
00:30:53.780 But you can't just write off China as communist, okay?
00:31:00.140 Yes, Xi Jinping uses communist rhetoric sometimes.
00:31:04.300 But what he describes is socialism with Chinese characteristics.
00:31:08.460 And if you actually go in and read his speeches, there's a lot to them that is fairly conservative, a lot of social conservatism.
00:31:18.840 He's been routing a lot of LGBT propaganda out of his movies, out of his culture.
00:31:24.060 But even on economics, if that's the primary way you're looking at politics, Xi Jinping promotes economic liberalization in certain areas when it is serving the national interest.
00:31:40.140 Okay, this guy does not sound like an orthodox, by-the-book Marxist-Leninist.
00:31:44.760 Far from it, okay?
00:31:45.980 In some ways, the guy sounds like a national conservative, actually.
00:31:48.960 Okay, and that should give us all a little bit of pause because it means that Xi Jinping is a clever fellow who's going to avoid some of the pitfalls that the Soviet Union fell into.
00:32:01.040 And it could lead the United States to a global war.
00:32:04.600 You know, there's this concept promoted by the Harvard political scientist Graham Allison called the Thucydides Trap.
00:32:12.000 The notion is that when a rising power challenges a dominant power, the result usually is war.
00:32:18.460 That it seems almost inevitable.
00:32:21.380 Graham Allison has pointed out that three-quarters of the time, of the last major changes to the global order, the last whatever, upwards of 20 changes, in three-quarters of those cases, war, major war, has been the result.
00:32:36.040 So do we want that?
00:32:37.080 Do we really think that the United States is in a good position to wage a global war, primarily against China?
00:32:43.380 Is that something that we desire?
00:32:44.600 It's not something I desire, and I'm skeptical about our ability to do it, particularly when China owns the country because they're our main creditor.
00:32:52.240 And whenever we want to wage our wars of empire around the world, we borrow the money from China, particularly when China manufactures all our stuff, particularly when the biggest American companies who produce the most important American material products,
00:33:07.920 talking about companies like Apple, when they do the vast majority of their manufacturing in China, when, for some reason, American liberals let China into the World Trade Organization and said a rising tide lifts all ships and it's good to see China rise.
00:33:22.480 And then China spent the next 20 years stealing all of our intellectual property.
00:33:25.740 So they got it.
00:33:26.380 They got it.
00:33:26.820 They've got our intellectual property, guys.
00:33:28.140 Do you really think now is a great time to wage a war on China?
00:33:33.840 America says that we can't even clean up our cities, can't enforce our border, can't do basic political things.
00:33:41.120 And then Xi Jinping shows up for two days and everything's fixed.
00:33:44.220 That should give us pause.
00:33:47.080 And Xi knows this.
00:33:48.980 Xi knows that the risk of war is pretty high.
00:33:51.740 And he's trying to head it off.
00:33:53.080 This has not been reported almost anywhere.
00:33:55.040 But Xi gave a speech to U.S. CEOs.
00:33:56.980 Here's what he said.
00:33:57.600 He said, the number one question for us is, are we adversaries or partners?
00:34:02.140 This is the fundamental and overarching issue.
00:34:03.920 The logic is quite simple.
00:34:04.940 If one sees the other side as a primary competitor, the most consequential geopolitical challenge, and a pacing threat, it will only lead to misinformed policymaking, misguided actions, and unwanted results.
00:34:14.560 China is ready to be a partner and friend of the United States.
00:34:17.080 The fundamental principles that we follow in handling China-U.S. relations are mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation.
00:34:24.140 So he's speaking very bluntly.
00:34:27.720 And he's saying, yeah, I read the Thucydides trap essay, too.
00:34:32.560 And I know that we could be headed toward war.
00:34:37.740 And I'm willing to avoid war.
00:34:40.000 But you need to recognize I'm not just some backwater, and I'm not just some stupid communist dictator who's headed for the ash heap of history.
00:34:47.160 What we've done in China has been working really, really well.
00:34:50.820 And you guys in the West have been giving up all of your competitive advantages.
00:34:55.600 Not just your material advantages, largely to us, but your political advantages, your philosophical advantages, and certainly your theological advantages, I think is implicit in any sober analysis of the situation.
00:35:07.620 So you've forgotten what inspires you.
00:35:10.300 You forgot what made your country great.
00:35:11.940 You forgot what made your civilization great.
00:35:13.640 Now you're a dying civilization, and you're on the decline in virtually every measure.
00:35:19.080 You can't even control your streets.
00:35:20.440 You can't even control your border.
00:35:21.800 And we're on the rise.
00:35:24.120 And if you want to just keep your head in the sand and deny that until it's too late and go to war, okay, don't blame it on me.
00:35:31.380 That is a – he said it in really nice words, and Xi Jinping is really friendly and smiley, and he's palling around with all his Democrat politician buddies in America.
00:35:40.680 But this is a threat.
00:35:45.980 And so it's a promise, basically, that there will be war if the U.S. doesn't get smart and doesn't get smart.

00:36:22.660 My favorite comment yesterday is from The Mob Seat, who says, imagine having your brain in a haze.
00:36:28.600 Oh, this is with regard to Snoop Diggity Doogity Dog giving up the devil's lettuce.
00:36:33.360 He says, imagine having your brain in a haze and walking out of the fog after 30-plus years.
00:36:38.760 He'll feel like he's on another planet.
00:36:41.220 So true.
00:36:41.920 Although the thing is, if he entered into this Mary Jane-infused haze 30 years ago,
00:36:49.680 then he's going to come out of it and he's going to look at reality right now and he's going to say,
00:36:52.880 he's going to say, what the hell is going on here?
00:36:55.920 He'll probably say like, what the hizzle is going on with the frizzle?
00:36:59.040 You know, you know, but he'll, he'll, because he's got to come out of it a little bit.
00:37:01.620 You know, he's not just going to sober up immediately.
00:37:03.500 But, but once he does sober up and he looks around, he's going to say, wait, what?
00:37:07.620 Okay, pass the bong again, please, because this world is far crazier than any hallucination
00:37:14.120 I ever had back in the early 90s, smoking the sin spinach.

00:38:15.580 Speaking of violence, there are new outtakes from the set of that movie that Alec Baldwin
00:38:22.240 worked on where he shot and killed that woman, the cinematographer.
00:38:25.260 And the outtakes seem to show, and they're being promoted by NBC, which obviously is a company
00:38:30.620 that Alec Baldwin has worked for for much of his career.
00:38:32.680 There are outtakes that seem to show that Baldwin was, in fact, concerned about some of the safety
00:38:41.040 measures or lack thereof on the set, and that he expressed his concern. He didn't want to shoot
00:38:45.800 toward the cinematographer. The cinematographer should not have been standing in the line of fire.
00:38:50.320 She should have been probably looking at a monitor off in the other direction.
00:38:53.480 And forget about the cinematographer for a second, the tragedy that she was killed.
00:38:59.300 There were so many steps along the way, so many safety malfunctions that occurred
00:39:05.100 before Alec Baldwin pulled that trigger. Here he is.
00:39:08.940 And everyone doesn't seem to be right here, like in the path of the gun. Could you please move?
00:39:14.420 Just want to be over him a little bit so I can see.
00:39:16.560 Now, wait a second. If I'm going to shoot right, do you want to go on the other side of the camera?
00:39:19.440 I don't want to shoot toward you.
00:39:20.240 So you see him. Look, Alec Baldwin's a total pro, and he's there as an actor, and he's saying,
00:39:26.160 I don't want to shoot toward you, but apparently they continued in this reckless way anyway on the
00:39:31.720 set. And here's a really unpopular opinion. This is going to be unpopular opinion Monday here.
00:39:39.060 It's not Baldwin's fault. Alec Baldwin is not responsible for the shooting on the Rust set.
00:39:45.240 I know instantly what people are going to say is, if you have a firearm,
00:39:48.560 it is always your responsibility what happens with that firearm.
00:39:52.460 If you have a firearm and you're pointing it at someone,
00:39:55.880 then you need to be ready to kill that person. You have to be ready to destroy whatever you're
00:40:01.580 pointing at. That's basic firearm safety 101, and that's all true. But that's not moviemaking 101.
00:40:07.860 Moviemaking, if you're using a gun in a movie, it almost always involves you pointing it and
00:40:12.740 shooting it at somebody. It is not comparable. The rules and regulations you would follow at a gun
00:40:19.960 range or for any person in regular life using a firearm, it is not comparable to the way that
00:40:25.140 actors use firearms in movies. And Alec Baldwin here is an actor. The people who are responsible,
00:40:31.740 primarily it's the armorer, the weapons master on the set, who was some clueless young girl who
00:40:38.780 obviously didn't know what she's doing. And the result is that a woman's now dead.
00:40:42.660 The second person responsible would be the first AD, the first assistant director who goes,
00:40:46.360 gets the weapon, should also be checking to make sure that it's not loaded at all,
00:40:49.880 hands it to the actor. The third group responsible, I guess, would be the producers
00:40:53.780 and the crew on set. And technically, Alec Baldwin is a producer here, but it's only a technicality.
00:40:59.860 He's a producer as a common financial workaround for how to pay his acting contract. But he's not
00:41:06.120 actually a producer in the way that producers produce films. He's an actor, primarily in the
00:41:12.860 movie. And everyone's going after him because he's a jerk and nobody likes him. And I know,
00:41:18.220 but this is my unpopular view. Throw tomatoes at me. I'm here to tell you the truth. I'm not here
00:41:22.500 to pander to you. Okay. They're going after Alec Baldwin because he's an easy target, because he is a
00:41:29.200 rich, famous, straight white guy who has a legendary temper and he's just easy to attack.
00:41:36.160 And it's a lot easier to put the blame on him than on this clueless armorer whose fault it actually
00:41:40.700 is. But if he were just an unknown actor, very few people would actually be blaming him for this.
00:41:48.820 I got, listen, don't ever accuse me of just carrying water or reciting talking points, guys. I'm
00:41:55.560 defending Alec Baldwin, who is a very unlikable liberal. But in this case, that's the way it is.
00:42:02.420 That's the way it goes. Speaking of controversial entertainers, Kanye has a new song. This is his
00:42:07.380 first song ever since the eccentric, shall we say, display that he made, what was it, about a year ago
00:42:14.920 on the Alex Jones show and with the face mask and the Yahoo, the net and Yahoo and where he was going
00:42:24.380 after the Jews and all that. You remember that thing? So anyway, he's got a new song out. Here is
00:42:28.700 the song.
00:42:29.140 And no, I didn't put that drop in there. That drop is in the record already. It's not Beethoven's
00:42:44.960 time anti-Semitic. I just Jewish. I just scooters. Can we ran on like a man?
00:42:51.680 This guy printed in the breeze. So whose baby is it? Whose baby is it?
00:42:58.400 My putting belt to pull up with the switch.
00:43:01.420 Okay. You know, I think this will be more actually productive if I just read the lyrics.
00:43:05.920 This is not, I don't, look, I'm not really even knocking. I am knocking the music, I guess,
00:43:11.760 but it's, it's not for me. This is not, I'm not, I'm not a big fan of hip hop or rap or
00:43:17.080 most music made in the last 70 or 80 years. I've liked some of Kanye's music in the past.
00:43:23.800 I liked that song that he wrote with Paul McCartney, Only One. I thought that was pretty
00:43:26.500 good. I've often thought Kanye is a pretty good, has a pretty good ear. So he hears good songs that
00:43:33.320 he then samples and raps over. And I don't love the rapping, but I like, you know, like Jesus Walks
00:43:37.340 is a great example. That's a, Jesus Walks, you know, and then that's a good song. And then he
00:43:42.940 raps over it and makes it popular. So, okay. This song is with Ty Dolla $ign and Lil Durk,
00:43:51.340 whoever they are. And here are the lyrics.
00:43:54.080 Three gang leaders with me all times. I don't know who I effed last night. I got Alzheimer's.
00:43:58.320 I don't know who them hoses, man. They all lie and Brody, tell me who them hoses, man. They all
00:44:02.300 fine, run and hooligan. And we with the foolishness. How I'm anti-Semitic. I just effed a
00:44:06.920 Jewish B-I-T-C-H. I just effed Scooter Braun, the big celebrity manager, B-I-T-C-H. And we ran
00:44:14.200 up like Olympics, got pregnant in the threesome. Whose baby is it? Whose baby is it? My ninjas,
00:44:19.180 he doesn't say ninjas, but it's a word that I'm not allowed to say because I'm a white fellow,
00:44:22.840 putting belt to A-double-S, pull up with the switches. This ain't Jimmy Butler, but the heat
00:44:27.760 got extensions. This ain't Columbine, but we came in with the trenches. I assume trench coat.
00:44:32.100 But she asking me to aim for, this is a little tawdry, this lyric, more so even than the others.
00:44:38.060 She asking me to aim for her neck because her boyfriend bought that necklace. With the trenches,
00:44:42.540 precious, with the trenches, eff it. I scratched another ninja woman up off my checklist. Okay.
00:44:48.120 Why do I read any of this? This is a song about revenge. Kanye is singing. There are other verses
00:44:56.500 with other rappers in it, but this is his verse. And he's singing about revenge. I don't know who
00:45:01.700 I effed. I got Alzheimer's. You can't say that I don't like Jews. I just effed one of those Jews.
00:45:05.780 And I just effed this other guy's girlfriend. And I just, I disrespected him and a gift that he had
00:45:12.460 given her. Yeah. I'm just, it's not even about her. It's about him. And I'm just getting back at him.
00:45:16.960 And I'm getting back at Scooter Braun. And I'm getting back at the Jews. And I'm getting back at
00:45:19.580 this guy. And I'm getting back at that guy. And I'm just effing everybody. And I'm hitting people.
00:45:25.780 And I'm like, I'm like the shooters at Columbine. I'm dressing up in trench coats like them.
00:45:29.640 It's all about revenge. And it's about revenge, presumably because Kanye got canceled.
00:45:36.120 And he lost a ton of money and Adidas canceled him. And he'll probably bounce back to some degree
00:45:41.720 because the guy just seems to be made of Teflon, even after his rather elaborate breakdown last year.
00:45:47.720 But it's the revenge to me that's the key. Because he made another album not that long ago called
00:45:53.560 Jesus is King that was actually somewhat beautiful by the standards of modern pop music.
00:45:58.920 I think there was a song on there, Water. We are water like a newborn daughter.
00:46:03.380 And a friend of mine actually wrote part of the bridge to that song. Actually, ironically,
00:46:08.180 a Jewish friend of mine wrote part of the bridge to that song. But the whole album was just about
00:46:11.700 how Jesus is King and we should all be Christian and worship God and be good and
00:46:16.700 rumored during the making of that album was Kanye's demand that nobody engage in fornication.
00:46:23.260 And he was trying to save his marriage. And a lot of people go crazy after a divorce.
00:46:28.440 But he really seemed to be aiming at virtue. And then here in this new song,
00:46:33.240 as first we've heard from him in over a year, or about a year at least,
00:46:38.440 it's all just about getting back at people and doing nasty things and fornicating and hitting people.
00:46:43.420 And, you know, and vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord, and I will repay. And so I feel for the guy
00:46:51.300 in that it's very easy to fall into vice and to enjoy the notion of revenge against people you
00:47:01.260 think have wronged you. But it's not the right way. If you compare this song to the Jesus is King
00:47:07.040 album, Jesus is King album is much better. And Kanye was probably in a much better place when he was
00:47:12.180 doing that album. Okay. The rest of the show continues now. You don't want to miss it.
