00:00:37.680 Less than 72 hours after being shot and coming within a fraction of an inch of being assassinated,
00:00:42.460 President Trump walked into the Republican National Convention on schedule.
00:00:47.880 Tomorrow while the things were gone, I'd worked for all my life.
00:00:53.540 Amazing.
00:00:54.020 You've got the required Lee Greenwood song.
00:00:59.400 I actually ran into Lee Greenwood.
00:01:00.460 He's one of the first guys I saw when I got here today.
00:01:04.500 With him emerging, Trump, with the bandage on his ear,
00:01:07.820 a couple days after having nearly been assassinated,
00:01:12.040 brought some tears to the eyes.
00:01:13.560 As you can see, actually, Don Jr.
00:01:15.140 Don Jr. has got tears in his eyes, as did many people here.
00:01:20.500 There were prayers.
00:01:22.480 There were models.
00:01:24.220 There was a new running mate, J.D. Vance.
00:01:26.060 This is the most historic National Party Convention since at least 1968 and possibly since 1892.
00:01:32.860 And I am coming to you here from the heart of it.
00:01:35.780 I'm Michael Knowles.
00:01:36.460 This is the Michael Knowles Show.

00:01:57.740 The RNC had not been underway for more than a handful of hours before some fake news started spreading.
00:02:04.220 The Libs accusing Trump of falling asleep on day one.

00:02:58.720 after the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.
00:03:01.120 It is amazing to be here.
00:03:03.920 And I miss, other than my wife and kids, I miss only one thing,
00:03:07.060 and that's my Good Ranchers meat.
00:03:08.160 Go to GoodRanchers.com, subscribe to any box, unlock their Prime Week savings.
00:03:13.400 Up to $150 off.
00:03:15.040 No code needed.
00:03:15.840 GoodRanchers.com.
00:03:17.440 72 hours, I'm sorry, less than 72 hours after being shot and nearly assassinated,
00:03:23.400 President Trump is up, vibrant, energetic.
00:03:28.280 His opponent, Joe Biden, could not keep his thoughts together long enough to answer a simple question
00:03:36.480 in an interview with Lester Holt on NBC.
00:03:40.140 And they looked at me and concluded I didn't do a damn thing wrong.
00:03:43.820 But my generic point is that it's, well...
00:03:51.380 No.
00:03:52.160 And my point, the whole point of my campaign is, uh...
00:03:58.940 He doesn't even say that.
00:04:05.620 He doesn't even say that.
00:04:06.400 He just trails off.
00:04:07.400 And there is something profound to this rhetorical error here.
00:04:13.960 Because the Biden campaign no longer has a point.
00:04:17.180 The point of the Biden campaign is that Donald Trump is Hitler,
00:04:21.720 and Donald Trump represents an existential threat to America, to our democracy, to our system of government.
00:04:28.920 That is the point of the campaign.
00:04:31.580 That's not my inference from Biden's rhetoric.
00:04:35.700 That is the actual premise of his campaign in his own words, as he has told us time and time again.
00:04:42.240 And singing the same anti-Semitic bile they sang back in Germany.
00:04:48.360 And the young woman got killed.
00:04:50.020 They spoke to the mother.
00:04:51.500 And they asked him, they said,
00:04:53.560 What do you think of those people?
00:04:55.540 The people who got killed.
00:04:57.200 The one who tried to stop it.
00:04:58.580 And the ones, he said, I think they're fine people on both sides.
00:05:02.080 What American president would ever say?
00:05:05.520 Nazis coming out of fields, carrying torches,
00:05:08.120 singing the same anti-Semitic bile,
00:05:10.880 carrying swastikas.
00:05:12.240 We're fine people.
00:05:14.000 This is the guy who says Hitler's done some good things.
00:05:16.700 I'd like to know what they are.
00:05:18.180 The good things Hitler's done, that's what he said.
00:05:22.600 Nazis, they're Nazis.
00:05:23.980 Trump likes Nazis.
00:05:25.120 Trump's a Nazi.
00:05:26.220 He likes Hitler.
00:05:27.160 Trump does, he wants Hitler to do Hitler Nazi things.
00:05:31.480 And he's an existential threat to our democracy.
00:05:34.220 That's the point of the campaign.
00:05:35.360 Biden says that he got into the race.
00:05:37.640 He was going to retire from politics,
00:05:39.100 but he got into the race in 2020
00:05:40.880 because Trump's a Nazi and he poses an existential threat.
00:05:44.060 Now, he doesn't really believe that.
00:05:45.940 The moment that Joe Biden tweeted out,
00:05:47.560 I'm glad that Donald Trump is doing okay after the shooting.
00:05:51.720 The moment he said, I called Donald Trump.
00:05:53.420 I'm grateful that he's alive and he's doing well.
00:05:55.540 The moment he said that,
00:05:56.760 he knew he was completely full of it comparing Trump to Hitler.
00:05:59.500 Because you wouldn't hope that Hitler is okay.
00:06:01.820 The moment that Biden and all the Democrats said,
00:06:06.360 you know, boy, by golly,
00:06:07.900 I'm really happy that Trump has recovered
00:06:10.480 and that he wasn't seriously injured.
00:06:11.920 You knew that they didn't really believe
00:06:13.720 he posed an existential threat to our democracy and our country.
00:06:16.680 Because if someone really did pose an existential threat,
00:06:19.540 the country dies.
00:06:21.960 If this man carries on,
00:06:24.580 then you wouldn't say that you were happy that he did well.
00:06:28.480 That kind of rhetoric, those premises,
00:06:32.580 justify anything up to and including an assassination.
00:06:37.120 So Biden can't defend that anymore,
00:06:40.080 but he has to defend that if he wants to have a campaign.
00:06:42.380 So he's struck dumb, dumber than he previously was even.
00:06:45.800 Lester Holt then in this interview,
00:06:48.520 I think the fifth attempt to restart the Biden campaign.
00:06:51.920 Don't forget, the first attempt was the debate.
00:06:54.820 That's why Biden proposed the debate
00:06:56.100 because he was slipping in the polls.
00:06:57.180 That didn't work.
00:06:58.480 Then it was the NATO press conference.
00:07:00.180 That didn't really work.
00:07:01.120 Then it was the Oval Office address after the assassination.
00:07:03.660 That didn't really work.
00:07:04.680 Now he's sitting down with Lester Holt on NBC.
00:07:07.460 And Lester Holt raised the very point that I just made.
00:07:11.020 You called your opponent an existential threat to the country.
00:07:14.560 You even said you'd put him in a bullseye.
00:07:18.280 What do you say now?
00:07:19.840 You called your opponent an existential threat.
00:07:22.860 On a call a week ago,
00:07:24.400 you said it's time to put Trump in the bullseye.
00:07:26.760 There's some dispute about the context,
00:07:29.680 but I think you appreciate that word.
00:07:31.580 I didn't say crosshairs.
00:07:32.320 I was talking about focus on.
00:07:34.100 Look, the truth of the matter was,
00:07:35.620 what I guess I was talking about at the time was,
00:07:38.860 there was very little focus on Trump's agenda.
00:07:42.200 Yeah, the term was bullseye.
00:07:44.500 It was a mistake to use the word.
00:07:45.940 I didn't say crosshairs.
00:07:47.720 I meant bullseye.
00:07:48.420 I meant focus on him.
00:07:49.840 Focus on what he's doing.
00:07:51.180 Nobody said you said crosshairs.
00:07:56.400 Lester Holt said very clearly,
00:07:58.320 you said you were going to put Trump in a bullseye.
00:08:01.200 I never said crosshairs.
00:08:03.940 Right, you said bullseye.
00:08:05.900 Yeah.
00:08:07.060 Come on, man.
00:08:08.580 So here you have the closest thing we've seen yet to Biden admitting
00:08:13.200 that he has been horribly irresponsible for his rhetoric
00:08:16.960 and that his rhetoric established the premises
00:08:19.260 that would justify assassination.
00:08:22.220 Ironically, once again,
00:08:23.400 the very thing that they accused Trump of doing,
00:08:25.820 Biden and the Democrats themselves actually did.
00:08:29.120 And here finally said,
00:08:30.220 I shouldn't have said that.
00:08:31.340 And he's still trying to get out of it.
00:08:32.720 I never said that thing that you never said that I said,
00:08:35.180 but he's still trying to weasel his way out.
00:08:38.140 And yet even Biden asked to admit,
00:08:40.140 OK, yeah, I probably should not have said that.
00:08:45.400 So then Lester Holt presses him further.
00:08:48.000 Is this the first time that NBC has ever pressed a Democrat president?
00:08:51.780 Lester Holt asks, OK, so maybe you regret some of your rhetoric
00:08:55.860 and you can't articulate what your campaign's about anymore.
00:08:58.940 But now, after this assassination attempt,
00:09:02.780 why haven't you heard from your Secret Service director?
00:09:06.280 Is it acceptable that you have still not heard,
00:09:09.100 at least publicly, from the Secret Service director?
00:09:12.060 Well, I've heard from him.
00:09:13.940 But have you heard from her publicly?
00:09:17.120 Publicly.
00:09:17.620 I've sat down in a situation room downstairs.
00:09:20.680 The Secret Service, the FBI, the national security agencies,
00:09:23.680 the Homeland Security, all the major elements.
00:09:28.360 Is it acceptable that you haven't heard from the Secret Service director?
00:09:30.880 Oh, I've heard from him.
00:09:33.780 Actually, it's a woman.
00:09:36.660 Named Kimberly Cheadle, who you appointed.
00:09:40.680 What are you talking about?
00:09:41.500 I paddle around at the Secret Service director all the time.
00:09:44.560 Oh, yeah, he and I, the Secret Service director and I,
00:09:47.580 we go to the swim and pool in Scranton, man.
00:09:49.780 You know, we go, we shave our hairy legs together, man.
00:09:52.860 He's a bad dude, that Secret Service director.
00:09:54.700 His name's Corn Pup.
00:09:56.260 No, actually, he is a she.
00:09:58.820 Confusing these days.
00:10:00.180 And her name is Kimberly Cheadle.
00:10:02.020 And you obviously haven't heard from her because you don't even know what sex she is.
00:10:06.520 Then he goes on, no, I hear from the Secret Service.
00:10:09.100 No, sir, you have Secret Service protection.
00:10:11.560 You have significantly more Secret Service protection than Donald Trump had,
00:10:14.780 which is why he was vulnerable to an assassination attempt that nearly killed him.
00:10:19.180 No responsibility, no accountability, no knowledge even of who the personnel are.
00:10:30.480 Nothing.
00:10:31.220 The lights are on and no one's home.
00:10:33.260 So let's focus on that Secret Service director.
00:10:35.180 Seems to me, if you're the director of the U.S. Secret Service and a president or a former president
00:10:40.180 or a party nominee or the leading presidential candidate in the country is very nearly assassinated
00:10:46.360 and only alive because of the grace of God and a movement of a head a nanosecond before a shot rang out,
00:10:54.040 probably you should resign.
00:10:56.360 Seems to me.
00:10:57.380 The boss of the Secret Service director, though, the Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas,
00:11:06.260 has just come out and fully endorsed Secret Service director Kim Cheadle.
00:11:11.840 Does the president have confidence in the Secret Service director after Saturday's failures?
00:11:16.640 I have 100 percent confidence in the director of the United States Secret Service.
00:11:20.920 I have 100 percent confidence in the United States Secret Service.
00:11:25.080 And what you saw on stage on Saturday with respect to individuals putting their own lives at risk
00:11:31.920 for the protection of another is exactly what the American public should see every single day.
00:11:37.980 It is what I indeed do.
00:11:40.320 What we saw Saturday is what we should see every single day, according to the director of Homeland Security,
00:11:46.620 secretary of Homeland Security.
00:11:47.720 Every day, according to Secretary Mayorkas, we should see a former president very nearly murdered.
00:11:57.380 Shot through the ear and very nearly murdered.
00:11:59.900 Every single day we should see that because of what a great job that was.
00:12:04.080 And then after the former president and presidential candidate is shot nearly through the brain,
00:12:09.360 we should see Secret Service agents mishandling their firearms.
00:12:17.280 One Secret Service agent who obviously is not physically capable of doing that job,
00:12:23.960 certainly not physically ideal, having trouble even holstering her weapon.
00:12:28.320 That's what we should see.
00:12:29.060 We should see a sniper getting off multiple rounds from an unsecure rooftop to nearly murder Donald Trump.
00:12:35.960 We should see that every single day.
00:12:37.280 And that's why, according to Mayorkas, he's got 100% confidence in the Secret Service director's ability.
00:12:46.300 So, Biden doesn't know who the Secret Service director is.
00:12:51.000 Mayorkas, the direct boss of the Secret Service director, has 100% confidence in her.
00:12:55.440 What about her?
00:12:56.220 Is she at least going to admit that this was a complete failure,
00:13:00.660 the sort of failure we haven't seen in about 40 years?
00:13:02.960 And is she going to resign?
00:13:07.000 Here's her answer.
00:13:08.000 Who is most responsible for this happening?
00:13:10.880 What I would say is that the Secret Service is responsible for the protection of the former president.
00:13:14.600 So the buck stops with you?
00:13:16.280 The buck stops with me.
00:13:17.940 I am the director of the Secret Service.
00:13:19.820 It was unacceptable, and it's something that shouldn't happen again.
00:13:22.820 The president and Homeland Security secretary said today they had 100% confidence in you.
00:13:28.840 But there are some members of Congress calling on you to resign.
00:13:31.840 I appreciate the secretary's comments, and we're going to continue to be transparent and communicate with people.
00:13:37.780 Do you plan to stay on?
00:13:38.860 Absolutely.
00:13:39.380 I do plan to stay on.
00:13:42.500 I take responsibility.
00:13:44.680 The buck stops with me.
00:13:46.740 This was completely unacceptable, and that's why nothing will change whatsoever.
00:13:51.780 I'm keeping my job.
00:13:52.780 It's all my fault.
00:13:53.760 I take full responsibility.
00:13:55.280 The buck stops with me.
00:13:56.700 What buck?
00:13:57.440 Huh?
00:13:57.760 Buck?
00:13:58.100 Who's me?
00:13:58.500 What are you talking about?
00:13:59.060 Joe Biden doesn't know who I am.
00:14:00.220 Anyway, bye.
00:14:01.840 Do words mean anything anymore?
00:14:08.080 You cannot simultaneously hold that what occurred was completely unacceptable, as it obviously was,
00:14:17.260 that you are taking responsibility, and that you're going to keep your job.
00:14:21.500 You can't do it.
00:14:24.680 But they will.
00:14:25.560 There will be no accountability.
00:14:27.860 The left doesn't seem to care all that much.
00:14:30.320 In fact, Alejandro Mayorca says we should see one of these assassination attempts every single day.
00:14:34.960 There's so much more to say.
00:14:36.080 First, though, it's tough to prioritize your health, especially if you're not sure where to start.
00:14:40.660 However, it's not just about making a decision.

00:15:45.280 Thank you, Lumen, for sponsoring this show.
00:15:47.920 Speaking of libs going into spin overdrive, we have seen the most hilarious example of fake news
00:15:55.440 that I've seen in quite a long time coming out of the RNC yesterday.
00:15:59.260 And it was a video that went around social media of President Trump supposedly falling asleep
00:16:05.800 on day one of the convention.
00:16:08.540 For Silicon Valley, ever since he got here, he hasn't done anything for the people who he wrote this movie about.
00:16:12.960 The video's cropped very, very thin.
00:16:15.540 You can only see Trump here.
00:16:16.840 You can't see any of the people around him, none of their faces, no one on the floor.
00:16:20.160 You can't even hear what's going on.
00:16:21.500 You're just hearing the commentary from MSNBC, but he's got his eyes closed.
00:16:26.180 So the libs are saying he fell asleep.
00:16:28.320 So there are a lot of confused libs out there, and I'm going to try to explain something,
00:16:34.720 because maybe they genuinely don't know.
00:16:38.000 What President Trump is listening to in that video is something called a prayer.
00:16:43.500 Prayer is when people speak to God, when they contemplate God, sometimes when they ask things of God,
00:16:50.780 when they consider God really at all, they do that.
00:16:53.940 And it is common during prayer to close one's eyes.
00:17:01.160 And I bet there are a lot of libs out there who don't have any idea what I'm talking about.
00:17:05.960 So in the spirit of charity and education, that's what's going on.
00:17:12.600 Now, I suspect some of the libs who were sharing that knew full well that this was a prayer,
00:17:18.960 and they just clipped it in a silly way to make it look like Trump fell asleep.
00:17:22.340 By the way, he was shot in the head two days prior.
00:17:25.220 If the man wanted to take a nap, I don't think anyone ought to begrudge him that nap.
00:17:30.520 But that's not what happened.
00:17:32.580 He was shot.
00:17:34.100 Part of his ear was blown off.
00:17:36.020 Back of his skull was nearly blown off.
00:17:38.200 And then 48 hours later, he was at the convention, and he made a very important point.
00:17:41.900 He said, the convention goes on as planned.
00:17:44.720 No changes.
00:17:45.540 We will not allow them to change this.
00:17:46.920 They really wanted to change the convention.
00:17:49.800 By nearly murdering the president two or three days before he would officially become the nominee,
00:17:56.840 but no, nothing would change.
00:17:58.640 And so he made it there, and he was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.
00:18:02.120 And yes, he closed his eyes and listened to prayers.
00:18:05.320 And there were some really great prayers.
00:18:07.640 The convention opened with the Catholic Archbishop of Milwaukee,
00:18:11.940 who gave what I thought was a perfect prayer to open a national political convention in America.
00:18:18.960 And let us pray.
00:18:19.800 Lord, we thank you for our nation.
00:18:26.120 Our founding fathers held these truths self-evident, that all are created equal,
00:18:32.840 endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
00:18:40.780 For 248 years, we have sustained this vision to guard the dignity of every life from conception to natural death,
00:18:51.580 to protect their liberty, especially to speak freely and to worship you and to support their pursuit of happiness through this life to the next.
00:19:03.320 We pray that you assist our elected officials and candidates, always to protect our freedoms,
00:19:13.780 to preserve our democracy, and to govern fairly.
00:19:18.260 Grant them the wisdom every day to place the good of our nation above personal interests, and to cherish our union.
00:19:26.900 This is a really beautiful prayer for this convention, because it is a prayer specifically for America.
00:19:39.360 It's using American language, words, and themes from the American tradition,
00:19:47.560 and speaking to them in the light of spiritual truth.
00:19:51.260 This prayer is seeing the state, which is distinct from the church, as if illuminated by the light that is reflected by the church.
00:20:04.180 Because both church and state derive their authority from God, and both church and state are necessary for man's ultimate ends.
00:20:13.900 We are, Christians believe, we are pilgrims in this world.
00:20:16.720 I think everyone has to acknowledge we're not going to be here forever.
00:20:21.260 From the perspective of eternity, we're here for a pretty short time, and so the material things of this world are not enough.
00:20:27.900 That's not what we're made for. Money won't buy you happiness.
00:20:31.480 And we Christians believe that we have greater ends, that there's a life of the world to come.
00:20:37.200 And the state is necessary, not only for man to achieve his natural ends, you know, feed his family, establish and maintain peace and order so that man can thrive and flourish in his family, in his business, in his community, in his fishing club, in all the things that we like to do from the perspective of nature.
00:20:57.520 But the state is also necessary to help man to achieve his supernatural ends, because it's very difficult to pray when there isn't peace.
00:21:08.040 We do it, you know, there are no atheists in foxholes.
00:21:10.900 But to really live out one's religion is greatly aided by peace and order, political stability.
00:21:18.940 So, the two are necessary here.
00:21:23.300 And this prayer is not, it doesn't ignore the natural and political order, neither does it solely focus on the natural and political order.
00:21:30.740 It gives you both.
00:21:31.520 I thought that was really appropriate.
00:21:33.340 There was another very charming Christian prayer.
00:21:36.780 There's so much more to say.
00:21:37.660 First, though, go to gcu.edu.
00:21:42.020 Grand Canyon University, a private Christian university in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona, believes that we are endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
00:21:50.680 GCU believes in equal opportunity, and the American dream starts with purpose.
00:21:54.620 GCU equips you to serve others in ways that promote human flourishing and create a ripple effect of transformation for generations to come.
00:22:02.080 By honoring your career calling, you impact your family, your friends, and your community.

00:22:23.300 I love GCU.
00:22:24.700 I was brought by some students to speak at GCU.
00:22:28.280 I think it was the first year of my campus lecture tour.
00:22:31.280 And I now work with two of them at two separate companies.
00:22:34.660 GCU is great.
00:22:36.160 Go check out Grand Canyon University today.
00:22:38.340 Private, Christian, affordable.
00:22:39.520 GCU.edu.
00:22:40.820 That is GCU.edu.
00:22:44.740 My second favorite prayer from day one of the RNC came from a Lutheran pastor.
00:22:50.100 This is how the Lutheran pastor opened up.
00:22:52.560 It's a great pleasure to be here.
00:22:55.060 Great pleasure to see President Donald Trump safe.
00:22:58.900 And if I may, before the benediction, give you this promise.
00:23:12.940 You're going to be so blessed.
00:23:17.540 You're going to be tired of being blessed.
00:23:20.320 I guarantee it.
00:23:21.460 Thank you.
00:23:22.460 Great little bit.
00:23:29.960 A nice moment of levity in this expression of gratitude that President Trump is safe.
00:23:35.000 I thought it was great.
00:23:35.520 He really seemed to get a kick out of it.
00:23:37.560 The crowd went wild for it.
00:23:39.700 This was great and really appropriate because we're a Christian country.
00:23:44.480 To quote John Adams, many of our founding fathers made important statements about the centrality
00:23:52.920 of Christianity to the United States.
00:23:55.780 John Adams put it quite well.
00:23:57.440 He said,
00:23:57.660 He was quite prolix, so I'll cut out some words, but it doesn't change the meaning at
00:24:05.440 all.
00:24:06.380 The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles
00:24:09.760 of Christianity.
00:24:11.040 Now I will avow that I then believed and now believe that those general principles of
00:24:14.600 Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.
00:24:21.420 Really good stuff.
00:24:22.760 Beautifully done.
00:24:24.800 Lots of great prayers.
00:24:26.060 There were some other prayers that missed the mark a little bit because we're a Christian
00:24:32.280 country and we have a long-standing tradition of religious tolerance and that's great, but
00:24:37.940 we're not a penentheistic country.
00:24:41.200 We're not a polytheistic country.
00:24:44.160 We're not any of those things.
00:24:47.000 We're a Christian country and the general principles on which the fathers achieved independence
00:24:52.240 were the general principles of Christianity.
00:24:54.420 So if really all Americans in the political process I think ought to recognize that, and
00:25:02.660 especially the conservative political party, we ought to recognize that.
00:25:07.300 Very important thing.
00:25:08.420 Now, there is a controversial speech.
00:25:11.220 Probably the speech that made the most headlines during day one of the RNC.
00:25:14.440 came from someone named Amber Rose, someone I had never heard of before until, seriously,
00:25:20.540 I mentioned this to someone who said, oh yeah, Michael, you never heard, because apparently
00:25:23.600 this gal did some sort of saucy things.
00:25:26.160 But no, I had actually never heard of this woman before.
00:25:28.360 And she was invited to speak at the RNC.
00:25:31.180 I guess she's got something of a colorful background and she's espoused views that are
00:25:34.600 quite naughty and done things that are quite naughty.
00:25:36.820 But before you pass judgment, just listen to her speech.
00:25:41.020 My entire family is racially diverse.
00:25:44.500 And I believe the left-wing propaganda that Donald Trump was a racist.
00:25:49.320 My father said, no, he's not, Amber.
00:25:52.140 What are you talking about?
00:25:54.020 And when I insisted, he said, prove it.
00:25:56.900 So to prove my father wrong, I did my research and looked into all things Donald Trump.
00:26:06.960 People have to do their research.
00:26:10.500 I watched all the rallies and I started meeting so many of you, his red hat wearing supporters.
00:26:17.200 I realized Donald Trump and his supporters don't care if you're black, white, gay, or straight.
00:26:29.600 It's all love.
00:26:31.640 My message to you tonight comes from a humble place.
00:26:34.880 The left told me to hate Trump.
00:26:36.500 And even worse, to hate the other side, the people who support him.
00:26:40.500 When you cut through the lies, you realize the truth.
00:26:43.520 American families were better when Donald Trump was president.
00:26:46.300 Why am I supposed to have a problem with this?
00:26:51.900 Why am I, as a conservative Republican, supposed to have a problem with this?
00:26:55.640 This woman didn't get up there advocating her views that are contrary to goodness and truth and the Republican Party platform.
00:27:05.600 She didn't get up there peddling abortion or something like that.
00:27:08.880 God forbid, that would be awful.
00:27:10.140 I would criticize that.
00:27:12.060 I'd be outraged by that.
00:27:13.080 She didn't do that.
00:27:13.640 She apparently did some saucy photo shoots or something.
00:27:18.420 Okay.
00:27:19.160 She was dressed quite elegantly there.
00:27:22.060 That doesn't bother me.
00:27:23.560 She what?
00:27:24.420 What's the problem?
00:27:25.680 She said all sorts of crazy things about religion.
00:27:27.960 Okay.
00:27:28.260 Was she talking about any of that?
00:27:29.400 No.
00:27:30.040 She got up there and she said,
00:27:31.420 Hey, I was told to hate Trump and I was told by the media that Trump is awful and evil and racist and terrible and I believed it and then I realized it wasn't true.
00:27:44.560 And so I'm telling people who look like me, who do things that I do, who talk the way that I talk, that are not usually part of the Republican base.
00:27:52.520 Hey, you're being lied to by the media.
00:27:54.360 Take it from me somewhere that you follow.
00:27:56.020 Apparently this woman has 25 million Instagram followers.
00:27:59.380 I don't know what she's doing that I'm not doing on Instagram.
00:28:01.420 She's got more than I do.
00:28:04.680 She's telling those people, hey, vote for Trump.
00:28:06.880 That's it.
00:28:07.880 I'm supposed to be upset by that.
00:28:09.360 I'm supposed to be outraged by that.
00:28:10.620 That's good.
00:28:11.080 I'm glad she's doing that.
00:28:12.880 What do you think this is?
00:28:14.520 What do you think we're doing right now?
00:28:15.840 We're at the Republican Party convention in a presidential year.
00:28:20.040 We're nominating a presidential candidate and now running mate, J.D. Vance.
00:28:24.340 And we're going to go try to win an election in November.
00:28:27.320 The convention exists to help the candidate win the election.
00:28:32.480 That's it.
00:28:34.740 If this woman, Amber Rose, in any way, if she gets one extra vote for Trump, it's worth it.
00:28:41.980 If she came here and changed the party platform, if she, I don't know, made President Trump rewrite his platform or something, I guess that could be bad.
00:28:54.920 It's not what's happening.
00:28:55.720 She's just going there and saying, hey, he's a good guy.
00:28:57.860 He's not a racist.
00:28:58.800 The media are liars.
00:28:59.940 Vote for Trump.
00:29:00.960 Thanks.
00:29:01.480 That's great.
00:29:02.460 A prominent person who usually wouldn't side with us is doing that?
00:29:06.340 Fine by me, man.
00:29:07.780 You've got to put these things in their proper place.
00:29:11.980 This is not, we're not here at a philosophy symposium, okay?
00:29:16.520 This is not some academic conference.
00:29:19.000 This is not some kind of purity ritual.
00:29:23.340 We're at a political party convention.
00:29:26.200 We're going to get people excited about some candidates and we're going to go try to win an election in November.
00:29:31.600 That's it.
00:29:32.500 That's what this is for.
00:29:33.600 You know a thing by what it's for.
00:29:34.920 If we were in a philosophy convention, we might talk about good old Grandpa Aristotle, who recognized that you know things, in large part, by what they are for.
00:29:45.200 That's what conventions are for.
00:29:47.340 I think this convention is doing a pretty good job of it.
00:29:50.000 Now, support is coming in from all sorts of places.
00:29:53.760 It's coming in from the Amber Roses of the world.
00:29:58.740 It's coming in from Elon Musk.
00:30:01.760 There's a report out.
00:30:02.580 Elon Musk is committing $45 million per month to a pro-Trump super PAC.
00:30:10.080 After the unjust conviction of Trump by the Democrats in New York, I made the biggest political donation of my life.
00:30:19.420 And it was significantly less than $45 million.
00:30:22.740 And I only made it once.
00:30:25.300 Elon's making it every single month.
00:30:27.180 That's great.
00:30:28.080 So then let's ask the Amber Rose question.
00:30:29.960 Is Elon a conservative?
00:30:34.100 I guess in some ways he's more conservative than Amber Rose.
00:30:36.860 Maybe he's less conservative than Amber Rose.
00:30:40.080 He's pretty radically liberal in the classical sense in a lot of his comportment, in a lot of his lifestyle.
00:30:48.800 I wouldn't call Elon Musk exactly a conservative.
00:30:52.800 Not really even close.
00:30:55.800 But is he going to help us?
00:30:57.880 Does he agree on some pretty important things?
00:31:01.060 And is he going to put his money where our mouths are and help us out to take back one of the big tech platforms
00:31:08.000 so that it's not just pure liberal dominance all over big tech?
00:31:15.020 Yeah, he is going to do that.
00:31:16.060 He's going to put $44 billion there.
00:31:18.180 Is he going to now donate to the Trump campaign or affiliated super PACs?
00:31:23.200 Yeah, great.
00:31:23.980 Thanks.
00:31:24.420 Thanks, man.
00:31:25.700 Thank you.
00:31:26.400 What are all the complainers doing?
00:31:27.960 What have the complainers ever done?
00:31:29.840 You've got to win an election, guys.
00:31:31.120 You don't just win an election by being the purest guy on Twitter.
00:31:36.560 It's not how it works.
00:31:38.600 Elon Musk isn't the purest guy on Twitter.
00:31:40.060 He owns Twitter.
00:31:41.640 Now, speaking of cultural figures in the year of our Lord, 2024,
00:31:46.360 I mentioned yesterday on the show that Jack Black, a popular movie star of the 2000s,
00:31:51.560 he was at School of Rock and, you know, a bunch of, a bunch of, he's got this band Tenacious D with some other guy.
00:31:55.800 It's Jack Black and some other guy.
00:31:57.600 And some other guy said on stage right after the assassination attempt on Trump,
00:32:04.220 he said that his greatest wish is that next time the shooter won't miss.
00:32:08.740 And you could tell, I looked, I said, but did Jack Black say that?
00:32:11.000 And it wasn't Jack Black.
00:32:11.600 It was the other guy.
00:32:12.540 And Jack Black didn't really know what to say.
00:32:14.220 So Jack Black has just come out.
00:32:15.480 He said, I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday.
00:32:19.420 I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form.
00:32:23.720 After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour
00:32:28.600 and all future creative plans are on hold.
00:32:30.380 Whoa, that's pretty big.
00:32:31.080 So he's saying, I'm canceling the tour that I'm currently on.
00:32:33.800 And I might be canceling the whole band because the other guy said something so egregious.
00:32:39.020 And he says, I'm grateful to the fans for their support and understanding.
00:32:42.060 This is a good message.
00:32:44.160 And this is a good message.
00:32:45.600 I'll take it.
00:32:46.980 You know, we want to be gracious.
00:32:48.280 We want to accept apologies.
00:32:49.520 This is a pretty full-throated apology.
00:32:51.000 I guess he doesn't say the word sorry exactly.
00:32:54.760 But he does say he would never condone what was said.
00:32:58.400 And he's going to cancel the tour.
00:33:00.060 So he's actually putting his money where his mouth is.
00:33:03.420 And he's saying he might cancel the whole band.
00:33:05.500 This is the right thing to do.
00:33:06.820 Good on Jack Black.
00:33:07.860 It's the right thing to do.
00:33:09.180 But importantly, it's the only thing to do.
00:33:14.160 What's he going to do?
00:33:15.120 Now, every interview he gives, this is going to come up.
00:33:20.080 Don't forget, even the liberal press have turned on Biden here.
00:33:24.360 Biden was shocked that Lester Holt was asking him tough questions.
00:33:28.040 Biden was shocked that even George Stephanopoulos, who is the hack's hack.
00:33:32.540 You know, he was the chief Democrat propagandist in the White House under Bill Clinton.
00:33:38.620 That even George Stephanopoulos was asking him kind of tough questions about whether he'd stay in the race.
00:33:42.340 That was before the assassination attempt.
00:33:45.680 Jack Black knows he's not going to be able to do any interviews.
00:33:48.100 And what are the performances going to look like?
00:33:51.040 He's going to have people in the audience either booing him for condoning something so egregious,
00:33:56.400 or, maybe worse, applauding the murder of a former president.
00:34:03.580 Which do you want?
00:34:04.840 I mean, it's arsenic or cyanide.
00:34:06.240 Pick your poison.
00:34:06.780 And the predicament that Jack Black is in right now is the predicament of the Trump campaign.
00:34:14.360 I'm sorry, of the Biden campaign.
00:34:15.900 Now, I sound like Joe Biden, because I've been up all night and, you know, kind of wandering around and, you know,
00:34:21.480 I don't know, talking to Corn Pop or whatever we do here at the RNC.
00:34:25.220 It's the predicament of the campaign.
00:34:26.800 It's the predicament of, like, every lib right now.
00:34:29.740 Admit that Trump is not Hitler and you have been lying for years.
00:34:36.800 Or, justify his assassination, which very nearly occurred on Saturday.
00:34:46.160 Those are the two options.
00:34:48.000 Admit you're completely full of it.
00:34:50.600 Call for Trump's murder.

00:35:40.720 My favorite comment yesterday is from the real Captain Redbeard.
00:35:44.700 Converting to Catholicism shows that he takes, I think this is J.D. Vance,
00:35:48.620 J.D. Vance takes religion and truth seriously.
00:35:51.000 You don't just convert for no reason, especially if you have a Baptist background.
00:35:54.240 Yeah, this is really good.
00:35:55.280 Even if you're not Catholic and even if you don't like Catholicism,
00:35:58.060 this is something that makes me believe that J.D. Vance's political development is legit.
00:36:04.200 A lot of libs now are saying, J.D. Vance, he's a grifter, he's a liar, he was a never-Trumper, whatever.
00:36:09.360 He's totally changed his views on politics.
00:36:11.580 Yeah, yeah, he's developed his views.
00:36:13.080 They've deepened, as is true for all of us, by the way.
00:36:15.080 But the fact that his political conversion was begun by a religious conversion,
00:36:24.240 I think should give you much more faith.
00:36:28.380 And at the very least, the political conversion, because all politics ultimately is theological.
00:36:32.720 And so by now, and by the way, it's not as though he undertook this religious conversion
00:36:38.660 because it was politically advantageous.
00:36:40.120 This is America, okay?
00:36:41.100 Being a Catholic doesn't exactly confer a political advantage.
00:36:44.460 He would have been better off remaining a Baptist or an evangelical,
00:36:47.320 or I don't remember exactly what denomination he was in which he was raised.
00:36:52.320 But the fact, even if you don't like Catholicism or whatever,
00:36:55.440 the fact that he took that leap and really planted a new flag,
00:37:04.540 then his political views came from that, his political views which were very much in line
00:37:08.440 with Catholic social teaching in most cases, many cases at least.
00:37:13.260 I think that should give you a little bit more confidence.
00:37:15.160 I totally agree with that commenter.
00:37:18.020 Now, speaking of bizarre statements after the assassination attempt,
00:37:22.820 we turn from Jack Black to the Rhode Island State Police.
00:37:27.860 I don't have much to say about this.
00:37:29.540 It's just kind of weird.
00:37:30.640 After the assassination attempt on Saturday, the Rhode Island State Police said,
00:37:37.700 the Rhode Island State Police is in close contact with local, state,
00:37:40.640 and federal law enforcement agencies,
00:37:42.560 and our fusion center works 24-7 to synthesize intelligence
00:37:45.120 and provide us with actionable information.
00:37:47.500 We have no reason to believe that the incident in Pennsylvania
00:37:50.200 has any connection to Rhode Island.
00:37:54.120 That's the end of the statement.
00:37:55.080 Rhode Island is pretty far away from Pennsylvania.
00:38:02.820 I did not think Rhode Island could in any way have anything to do with the attack on Saturday
00:38:10.220 until the Rhode Island State Police issued that statement.
00:38:12.960 Now, I...
00:38:14.360 Huh?
00:38:15.100 What?
00:38:17.140 I...
00:38:17.660 Just a real head-scratcher.
00:38:19.800 It's just the cherry on top of all the other questions.
00:38:25.000 This one, I assume, totally irrelevant.
00:38:27.120 You know, it's...
00:38:27.540 In a way, it's kind of a really bizarre instance of the line of scripture,
00:38:33.740 the guilty flee where none pursueth.
00:38:36.200 You know, you think, hmm, okay.
00:38:40.940 Why would you be involved?
00:38:42.700 But it's just a little cherry on top of all the questions.
00:38:45.860 How was there such a massive security failure?
00:38:47.720 Or why did President Trump not have anywhere near the security of a sitting president?
00:38:54.020 President Trump, who, sure, he was a former president,
00:38:55.740 but he's also the Republican nominee in 2024.
00:38:58.580 He's also being called Hitler and a threat to a democracy by all the top Democrats.
00:39:02.880 And how was this allowed to happen?
00:39:05.960 Now, speaking of...
00:39:09.660 Speaking out of turn,
00:39:11.880 Joe Biden got sick of Lester Holt during this interview on NBC.
00:39:15.140 And after having to answer questions about his own inflammatory and violent rhetoric,
00:39:20.600 after having to try to articulate the point of his campaign,
00:39:22.980 which he wasn't able to do anymore, after this, after that,
00:39:25.040 he finally lost it.
00:39:26.180 He said, hey, Lester, why aren't you talking about Trump?
00:39:29.400 In your last TV interview, you were asked if you had watched the debate.
00:39:32.820 Your answer was, I don't think so, no.
00:39:35.420 Have you since seen it?
00:39:37.320 I've seen pieces of it.
00:39:38.360 I've not watched the whole debate.
00:39:39.400 And the reason I ask, because I guess the question is, are you all on the same page?
00:39:44.100 Are you seeing what they saw?
00:39:46.460 Which was moments of, frankly, that appeared to be, you appeared to be confused.
00:39:52.220 Lester, look.
00:39:54.060 Why don't you guys ever talk about the 18, the 28 lies he told?
00:39:58.700 Where are you on this?
00:40:01.080 Why didn't the press ever talk about that?
00:40:02.980 28 times it's confirmed he lied in that debate.
00:40:06.640 I had a bad, bad night.
00:40:09.920 I wasn't feeling well at all.
00:40:12.200 And I had been, without it making, I screwed up.
00:40:17.120 But if you...
00:40:17.620 I just asked a question, because the idea that you may or may not have seen
00:40:22.100 what some of these other folks have seen, you're not on the same...
00:40:25.540 I'd have to see I was there.
00:40:29.780 I'd have to see it, I was there.
00:40:31.800 And by the way, seriously, you won't answer the question,
00:40:34.360 but why didn't the press talk about all the lies he told?
00:40:37.140 I don't know anything about that.
00:40:38.240 We have reported many of the issues that came up during that debate.
00:40:41.540 No, you haven't.
00:40:42.140 But we'll provide you with them.
00:40:43.540 God love you.
00:40:44.460 Okay.
00:40:48.460 I don't know which part is worse.
00:40:51.940 The part where Biden stammers and stammers and says,
00:40:53.940 you gotta talk about Trump!
00:40:55.520 Or the part where he just laughs like a maniac.
00:40:58.680 Or the part at the end where he just wants to murder Lester.
00:41:01.640 God love you, God love you, Lester.
00:41:03.580 Yeah, because the media never call Trump a liar.
00:41:06.260 I would say that's something we have a real dearth of in the establishment media.
00:41:09.760 Calling Trump a liar.
00:41:10.740 You've never heard that, right?
00:41:12.720 And so I don't know what Biden's talking about, 28 lies or something.
00:41:15.280 Yeah, the libs always report on all the lies of Donald Trump, many of which are not lies.
00:41:19.640 But after that debate on CNN, even CNN had to come on air and talk about the lies, not that Trump uttered, but that Biden uttered.
00:41:33.900 I'll give you some of them.
00:41:34.880 He said he's the only president in a while who didn't have any troops dying anywhere in the world.
00:41:39.080 Troops have, of course, died on his watch.
00:41:40.840 He said he's put in a $15 per shot cap on insulin and Medicare.
00:41:44.320 It's a $35 a month cap.
00:41:45.980 He said it's a $200 cap on overall drug spending and Medicare.
00:41:49.580 It's $2,000 a year.
00:41:51.520 He said the border now has fewer crossings than when Trump was in office.
00:41:54.360 That's generally not true.
00:41:55.780 He said, or at least strongly suggested, unemployment was at 15% when he took office.
00:41:59.800 It was actually 6.4.
00:42:01.000 He said Trump wants to get rid of Social Security.
00:42:03.820 Trump doesn't.
00:42:04.520 He said billionaires pay 8.2% in taxes.
00:42:07.080 It's much higher.
00:42:07.840 He said Trump told Americans to inject bleach amid COVID.
00:42:10.480 We know Trump made foolish comments about scientists studying disinfectant injection,
00:42:14.880 but didn't frame it as advice to people.
00:42:16.740 And Biden said the Border Patrol endorsed him.
00:42:19.040 No, its union supported the border bill he'd supported, never endorsed him himself.
00:42:23.300 It goes on.
00:42:24.640 It goes on, but it's brutal.
00:42:27.380 Even they had to admit it.
00:42:28.480 And so if you're Joe Biden, of course your reaction is, why aren't you talking about Trump?
00:42:33.860 And that's your reaction because the media are supposed to talk about Trump.
00:42:38.520 It's supposed to all be about Trump.
00:42:41.280 All of Trump's lies and many of his true statements that aren't lies, but they're going to call them lies.
00:42:47.180 And all of Trump's supposedly inflammatory rhetoric, which is nothing.
00:42:51.500 It's downright peaceable compared to the violent rhetoric coming from Joe Biden.
00:42:56.280 But that's just what he's come to expect.
00:42:58.980 Joe Biden's been in politics for 50 years, more than 50 years.
00:43:02.960 He first got elected in 1970 to the Newcastle County Council, I think.
00:43:06.540 And then the Senate, a couple years later, and he's been in D.C. ever since.
00:43:12.040 And all that time, the press does the Democrats' bidding and attacks Republicans.
00:43:18.240 So now why is the press turning all of a sudden?
00:43:20.900 Well, now the press is going a little bit easier on Trump because he was nearly murdered on Saturday night.
00:43:27.940 And because the premises that they have been articulating justify the assassination attempt.
00:43:33.880 So that's why they're pulling off a little bit.
00:43:35.360 But they were turning before because Joe Biden had lost the support of his own party.
00:43:43.020 His own party lost confidence in him, in part because of that terrible debate performance.
00:43:48.400 Because that terrible debate performance took away their ability to lie for him.
00:43:54.560 Had Joe Biden not challenged Trump to the debate, he wouldn't have done the debate.
00:43:57.220 He could have just hit out in the White House or hit out of Camp David.
00:44:00.720 And the media could have continued to lie and said, oh, no, he's not demented.
00:44:03.920 He's not senile.
00:44:04.700 He has a childhood stutter.
00:44:05.900 He's working all the time.
00:44:07.620 He can spell his name.
00:44:09.640 He knows, you know, which end is up and which end is down.
00:44:13.760 And they could have done that.
00:44:14.880 But because Joe Biden, he's the one who asked for the debate, because he showed the American people that he really is in decline, he exposed the press for liars.
00:44:26.680 So the press were angry about that.
00:44:28.920 They had a crisis of their own credibility.
00:44:31.000 And also he revealed that he's going to lose to Trump if nothing changes between now and November.
00:44:36.600 So then there was an open insurrection in the Democrat Party.
00:44:39.260 That word is overused these days, but this was a real insurrection.
00:44:42.220 There was a real mutiny within the Democrat Party to replace Biden.
00:44:46.540 It included an op-ed ostensibly written by George Clooney, rumored to have been written by Barack Obama, or at least inspired by Barack Obama in the New York Times, saying Joe's got to go.
00:44:56.620 And then that didn't work.
00:44:59.920 But it was a game of chicken between Joe Biden and the liberal establishment.
00:45:05.480 And Joe Biden told the liberal establishment, you got to back me or I'll destroy your chances at winning.
00:45:11.020 And the liberal establishment said, well, no, you got to drop out or we're going to destroy your chances of winning.
00:45:16.740 And they're both just waiting for the other one to blink.
00:45:20.360 But now I think finally, especially after the assassination attempt, the mutiny is over.
00:45:28.160 There's no political mojo to get it done.
00:45:31.020 But now the press are going to have to live with everything they've just said.
00:45:36.180 So now the establishment press have admitted he has dementia.
00:45:41.160 He's senile.
00:45:42.380 He lies a lot.
00:45:43.840 Maybe he doesn't even lie because it's not intentional because he doesn't even know which end is up.
00:45:48.020 And now, all of a sudden, the Democrats are in despair.
00:45:53.160 It's not even chaos.
00:45:54.080 I don't think they can really replace him anymore.
00:45:56.420 It's just despair.
00:45:57.360 Meanwhile, at the Republican National Convention, where our nominee was within a hair's breadth of being murdered two and a half days ago,
00:46:06.900 the spirit, and I've been here all day.
00:46:09.740 I left National in the middle of the night and I've been here all day.
00:46:15.880 Anyway, the spirit here is jubilant and grateful and excited for November.
00:46:23.920 Now, we'll see if the Republicans figure out a way to screw it up.
00:46:26.360 I'm Michael Knowles.
00:46:27.040 This is The Michael Knowles Show.
00:46:27.860 See you tomorrow.
