00:00:49.620 Yesterday, at a national prayer service to cap the inauguration festivities for President Trump,
00:00:55.120 the priestess in charge of the National Cathedral decided to lecture our president
00:01:00.520 on the importance of transing kids and ignoring immigration law.
00:01:04.900 Let me make one final plea, Mr. President.
00:01:10.700 Millions have put their trust in you.
00:01:12.520 And as you told the nation yesterday, you have felt the providential hand of a loving God.
00:01:23.500 In the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now.
00:01:33.600 There are gay, lesbian, and transgender children in Democratic, Republican, and independent families.
00:01:45.420 Some who fear for their lives.
00:01:47.660 And the people, the people who pick our crops and clean our office buildings,
00:01:55.660 who labor in poultry farms and meat packing plants,
00:01:58.560 who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants and work the night shifts in hospitals,
00:02:03.840 they may not be citizens or have the proper documentation.
00:02:09.260 But the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals.
00:02:14.840 They pay taxes and are good neighbors.
00:02:18.700 They are faithful members of our churches and mosques, synagogues, Wadara, and temples.
00:02:28.720 Hold on.
00:02:30.100 Before we get to the trans kids, before we get to the supposed immorality of immigration law,
00:02:36.080 they fill our synagogues and temples?
00:02:38.400 This lady thinks the Honduran peasants flooding into our country illegally are Jews?
00:02:44.300 I'm pretty sure there is precisely one Jew in all of Latin America, and he's the president of Argentina.
00:02:49.540 Coincidentally, I actually met him at one of the inauguration parties.
00:02:52.340 Also coincidentally, I happened to be in the National Cathedral for this chicky's heretical and ridiculous remarks.
00:02:59.620 It was actually pretty close to President Trump and Vice President Vance during this.
00:03:03.320 The looks on their faces were hilarious.
00:03:05.120 No one, however, should be surprised by the remarks of this fake priestess lady.
00:03:10.540 It is no wonder that a woman who would mistake herself for a bishop might also confuse a foreign national for an American citizen
00:03:18.320 or even a little boy for a little girl.
00:03:21.780 So we're going to bring a little bit of reality to that fantasy show that went on yesterday.
00:03:25.680 I'm Michael Knowles.
00:03:26.880 This is The Michael Knowles Show.
00:03:27.920 Welcome back to the show.
00:03:48.720 So much has happened in the last 24 hours.
00:03:51.380 I have finally returned from the imperial capital, where I happen to actually be present for some of these wild things.
00:03:59.080 But a lot going on, not just on the ceremonial level, but on the executive level.
00:04:04.920 We have now gotten our first spate of pardons for all of the January 6th.
00:04:10.660 We'll get to that in a moment.
00:04:11.680 First, though, I want to tell you about something that President Trump is not getting enough credit for.
00:04:18.400 People are looking at Trump's expression in the National Cathedral, and President Trump, he's looking kind of a little tired.
00:04:26.880 You know why Trump was tired?
00:04:28.860 Because President Trump has been moving nonstop for days.
00:04:33.460 I was sitting there not too far from where he was, and all of us are looking haggard, tired, all these inauguration parties.
00:04:41.420 I was up until about 3 o'clock in the morning at the Mayflower Cigar After Party, which was a ton of fun.
00:04:46.420 We had a great time.
00:04:47.380 We were at Shelly's Backroom Cigar Bar, which is a frequent spot of mine, and we were up very late.
00:04:52.780 President Trump, who's got a few years on me, was up much later than I was.
00:04:56.880 He went to many more parties than I did.
00:04:59.280 He shook many more hands than I did and also was the president.
00:05:03.240 On top of all of the physical demands of people in the government and around the government right now, he also was the president signing executive orders, hundreds of executive actions, well over a thousand pardons, installing all of his people into the government, dealing with the media, dealing with the bureaucracy, dealing with legislators, dealing with the emotion of becoming the president again.
00:05:29.120 And this guy shows up in the morning for the national service at the National Cathedral, and this ridiculous priestess decides to lecture him on all sorts of heretical nonsense.
00:05:42.160 It was totally, totally crazy.
00:05:43.960 The only reason I could even sort of keep my eyes open is because of all of those delicious Mayflower cigars I had at the party the night before.
00:05:51.520 Make sure that you celebrate with President Trump and the Daily Wire and Mayflower.
00:05:57.500 Go to mayflowercigars.com.
00:06:00.860 Bring the celebration home with you.
00:06:03.340 Mayflower cigars, the perfect way to keep this spirit of exuberance alive.
00:06:09.560 Nervous about financing a renovation or move?
00:06:12.820 TD can help ease those butterflies with renovations.
00:06:17.500 Refinancing can help you keep the home you love while increasing its value.
00:06:21.520 And although moving comes with new costs, like closing fees, it might be the perfect next step.
00:06:28.080 Ready to hear more?
00:06:30.520 Request a calming call with TD Mortgage Direct and say hello to good advice.
00:06:39.880 This guy is a total machine, President Trump.
00:06:43.900 A total machine.
00:06:45.600 I can't get over it.
00:06:47.380 I'm not 38, okay?
00:06:49.280 I'm 34.
00:06:49.980 President Trump is 78 years old.
00:06:52.560 He's got more than 40 years on me.
00:06:54.720 And this guy has more energy than anybody I saw in Washington, D.C.
00:06:59.120 And he sits there morning after the big day, and he listens to that very, very silly lecture.
00:07:09.220 Now, why?
00:07:10.440 Why go?
00:07:11.040 Why did President Trump go?
00:07:12.120 Why did I go to this thing?
00:07:14.700 Trump's thesis, his inauguration thesis, which he said right after the swearing in, was that
00:07:19.900 God saved Trump's life so that he could make America great again.
00:07:25.320 That's why.
00:07:25.880 That was it.
00:07:26.980 He said, by all accounts, I should have had my head blown off in Pennsylvania, but this
00:07:31.140 improbable, providential act, this last minute turn of the head to go look at a graph, saved
00:07:36.900 my life.
00:07:37.900 And God saved my life for a purpose.
00:07:40.360 Saved my life to make America great again.
00:07:44.340 I had this thought, too.
00:07:45.480 When it was 3 o'clock in the morning after the inauguration, and everyone was saying,
00:07:51.300 you know, I don't really want to wake up at 6 o'clock or 7 o'clock to go make it to the
00:07:55.640 National Prayer Service.
00:07:56.840 I thought, you know, if we really believe that there's a providential aspect to this election,
00:08:02.060 if you believe there's a providential aspect to everything, as I do, but it's so clear in
00:08:06.340 this election.
00:08:07.260 If you really believe that we need to bring religion back into public life, then it's important.
00:08:13.420 To have these kinds of ceremonies, to go to these kinds of ceremonies, to support them.
00:08:18.260 If we're not going to do it, nobody will.
00:08:20.220 There's a little bit of a question for Catholics as to whether Catholics can go to non-Catholic
00:08:24.900 religious ceremonies because Catholicism claims universal dominion, you know, an exclusive
00:08:31.380 religious claim because we are the bride of Christ, you know, and this is the universal
00:08:37.900 church is what Catholicism means.
00:08:39.280 However, the church has been quite clear that we can go and participate in some of these
00:08:45.160 events.
00:08:45.580 We can't participate in the non-Catholic aspects of them.
00:08:48.780 We can't say prayers that are contrary to the faith or anything like that, but we can
00:08:53.100 participate.
00:08:53.620 We can go and attend certain ceremonies.
00:08:55.640 You know, if a couple of Protestants get married or something, or if there's a national
00:08:59.760 ceremony, a political ceremony, this is an official event capping off the inauguration
00:09:05.040 of President Trump, but there obviously have to be some boundaries here, and this is what
00:09:09.440 went totally awry with the Episcopalian service with this silly woman at the National
00:09:16.620 Cathedral because it wasn't just the pro-trans stuff, which is deeply scandalous.
00:09:22.820 Look, first of all, it is just simply impossible for a woman to be a priest.
00:09:27.700 St. Paul is clear about this in Scripture.
00:09:29.860 Scripture is inerrant.
00:09:31.080 It's just, it cannot happen, okay?
00:09:33.260 So in the late 20th century, when the Episcopalians and the Anglicans decided they were going to
00:09:37.980 pretend that women can become priests, that invalidated their holy orders.
00:09:41.920 After that, very quickly, the Church of England and the Episcopalian Church, which is its version
00:09:47.180 in the United States, ceased to even have the trappings, really, of a serious religion and
00:09:53.700 became basically an LGBTQ activist organization.
00:09:57.940 And you heard that yesterday.
00:09:59.540 That was quite clear.
00:10:00.640 But it is really scandalous to have some woman who puts on a costume like a clown and
00:10:05.280 pretends to be a priest, saying things that are contrary to the faith, advocating things
00:10:09.700 that are hideous and deeply evil, like castrating little kids, deviant sexual sorts of behaviors,
00:10:16.700 things that are simply false as a matter of political theology, the notion that a nation
00:10:22.600 can't enforce simple immigration laws.
00:10:24.980 Even somewhat offensive when she says, yeah, we just need people to pick our grapes and
00:10:30.060 clean our homes.
00:10:31.620 Who's going to clean our homes if we deport all the Mexicans?
00:10:34.240 That's essentially what this Episcopalian priestess lady said.
00:10:37.880 But it wasn't even just that.
00:10:39.560 The National Prayer Service transgressed limits in other ways.
00:10:45.780 There was an imam that spoke.
00:10:50.240 There was a reading from the Quran there.
00:10:52.860 And then there was a chanting of a Muslim call to prayer.
00:10:56.240 Allahou Akbar, Allahou Akbar, Allahou Akbar.
00:11:27.180 What?
00:11:28.460 Why did we do that?
00:11:29.980 Why did we do that in the National Cathedral?
00:11:32.440 I think Thomas Jefferson's probably rolling over in his grave at that.
00:11:35.180 Now, I don't even really mean offense to our Muslim friends, our Muslim listeners out here.
00:11:40.400 In many ways, one can have a much more fruitful conversation about profound things with a Muslim
00:11:45.260 than with some modern Western lib secular atheist.
00:11:48.660 But the chanting of the Muslim call to prayer does not belong in a cathedral of any sort.
00:11:55.520 Usually when you hear the Muslim call to prayer in cathedrals,
00:11:58.160 it's cathedrals that Muslims have conquered and stolen from Christians,
00:12:01.460 like the Hagia Sophia, for instance.
00:12:04.300 Why?
00:12:05.220 Why would we?
00:12:05.620 Now, I know why.
00:12:06.260 The answer is because the people who run this pseudo church, people like this silly woman
00:12:13.580 pretending to be a priest, they have a shallow faith if they have faith at all.
00:12:20.200 And because there is a kind of indifferentism that's set in to our public life, where we
00:12:25.420 believe America, we believe in a way that is self-contradictory, that America is just
00:12:33.540 an idea.
00:12:34.860 But on the other hand, ideas don't matter.
00:12:37.560 America is just an idea.
00:12:39.000 It's not a people.
00:12:39.740 It's not a history.
00:12:40.700 It's not a geography.
00:12:41.980 It's just an idea.
00:12:43.980 But also, people of any creed can be fully American.
00:12:47.960 Hold on.
00:12:48.340 What do you mean creed?
00:12:49.040 A creed is a belief.
00:12:50.180 A creed is an idea.
00:12:51.340 How can America be an idea, but America can be any idea?
00:12:54.280 Then that means that America can be any damn thing at all, and then America is nothing.
00:12:57.220 We have, by abolishing all of these limits, we've destroyed even the creedal notion of
00:13:03.480 America.
00:13:05.600 And that wasn't just it.
00:13:07.060 I really don't mean to pick on the Muslims here.
00:13:09.540 I think that the real issue is the weakness of America's professing Christian types of creeds,
00:13:20.160 which have eliminated themselves.
00:13:23.300 And it wasn't just the Muslims.
00:13:24.740 There was also some weird Buddhist thing.
00:13:26.080 There's so much more to say.
00:13:27.760 First, though, text Knowles, K-N-W-L-E-S, to 989898.

00:14:29.320 Text Knowles to 989898 today.
00:14:31.860 There was a dude who got up there at the National Prayer Service.
00:14:36.200 He was a white guy, but he, I think his real name is Matt Regan, but he goes by Reverend Bup He, B-U-P space H-E-E.
00:14:44.860 Bup He, and one of his prayers that he said at the service was, may all Kama, not C-O-M-M-A, K-A-M-M-A, be resolved and the mind flower of wisdom bloom in Nibbana's eternal spring.
00:14:59.780 What on earth does that mean?
00:15:01.640 I'm not praying for that.
00:15:02.780 I don't want Nibbana's eternal spring.
00:15:04.460 I don't know what Kama is.
00:15:05.560 Why is that?
00:15:06.220 Why are these words even being uttered in the National Cathedral?
00:15:09.880 Cathedrals are Christian houses of worship.
00:15:12.720 They're supposed to be, but now, unfortunately, it's just radical leftists like that silly bishopress woman wearing Christianity as a skin suit, but without any of the actual substance of Christianity.
00:15:24.860 So then they invite in all of these people with views that are totally contradictory to Christianity to come in, and then what is the prayer, right?
00:15:33.640 It's very difficult.
00:15:35.200 When some of these eccentricities were going on, I was just praying the rosary in the cathedral.
00:15:40.080 I thought, well, we'll get at least one Christian prayer in here, won't we?
00:15:44.080 We need limits, okay?
00:15:48.120 And President Trump has responded.
00:15:49.780 When President Trump came out last night, he said, the so-called bishop who spoke at the National Prayer Service on Tuesday morning was a radical left hardline Trump hater.
00:15:57.860 True.
00:15:58.340 She brought her church into the world of politics in a very ungracious way.
00:16:01.700 True.
00:16:02.140 She was nasty in tone and not compelling or smart.
00:16:04.640 Seems to be right.
00:16:05.440 She failed to mention the large number of illegal migrants that came into our country and killed people.
00:16:09.920 Many were deposited from jails and mental institutions.
00:16:12.540 It is a giant crime wave that is taking place in the USA.
00:16:15.740 Apart from her inappropriate statements, the service was a very boring and uninspiring one.
00:16:19.700 She is not very good at her job.
00:16:21.460 She and her church owe the public an apology.
00:16:24.040 I agree.
00:16:24.900 I totally agree with that.
00:16:26.680 There were some moments that were nice.
00:16:28.040 The singer was very good.
00:16:30.020 Macchio, he sang Ave Maria.
00:16:32.140 That was beautiful.
00:16:32.700 That was kind of the Catholic aspect of the ceremony.
00:16:35.000 It was beautiful.
00:16:36.060 There were some lovely traditional hymns that were sung, but a lot of it was too silly.
00:16:43.440 A lot of it was bordered on wicked.
00:16:47.120 A lot of it entered into the realm of wicked, like when they talk about castrating the kids.
00:16:51.080 It was a symbol of the broader political problem that Trump has to deal with, which is we need to preserve what is still good and strong about America.
00:17:01.580 That cathedral is a beautiful building.
00:17:04.380 Some of the aspects of the ceremony were nice.
00:17:06.900 We need to preserve what is still good and relatively solid about America, but we need to reestablish limits or we're going to look like a total clown show, which is what that ceremony looked like yesterday.
00:17:19.520 Now, Trump is getting to work beyond the ceremonial stuff.
00:17:22.440 He is getting down to brass tacks.
00:17:24.400 One of the most significant changes that President Trump has wrought in the last 24 hours that very few people are talking about, President Trump rescinded an executive order from the 1960s.
00:17:38.360 This is an executive order from Lyndon Johnson, EO-11246.
00:17:44.140 What did EO-11246 do?
00:17:47.000 It established affirmative action for federal contractors.
00:17:52.560 Trump's executive order rescinding that executive order will ban all federal contractors from discriminating on the basis of race, which is exactly what affirmative action does.
00:18:04.060 It discriminates on the basis of race.
00:18:09.060 This could be the benefit of Trump and the Republicans being in the wilderness for four years.
00:18:14.460 Had Trump just remained president after 2020, I don't know that you would get an executive order like this.
00:18:21.100 This is so in the weeds.
00:18:22.460 This is going back now 60 years to pull another executive order, to move the ball way down the field.
00:18:29.820 Affirmative action is the beginning of DEI, all of these awful woke policies that people hate.
00:18:36.040 Where does this come from?
00:18:38.140 I think this comes from our political side, and Trump in particular, being in the wilderness, having a little bit of time, especially as the left is constantly trying to persecute us, and Trump in particular.
00:18:48.840 Having a little bit of time to refocus, say, okay, what is it that we believe?
00:18:55.280 Wow, things are even worse than we thought they were.
00:18:57.700 Wow, what would you do if you didn't, if you have a moment's reprieve, so you're not dealing with the constant business of politics, what would you do if maybe you could get back into power?
00:19:07.840 Trump had four years to think about that.
00:19:10.360 This is why we say our ways are not God's ways.
00:19:13.480 God's ways are not our ways, okay?
00:19:15.120 We were so disappointed.
00:19:16.240 I was crestfallen in 2020 when the election went to the Democrats, let's put it that way.
00:19:21.460 I was so upset.
00:19:23.480 But if the last 24 hours are any indication, the non-consecutive second Trump term might well be much, much better.
00:19:32.000 The signs are all pointing that it will be much, much better than a consecutive second Trump term.
00:19:39.660 On this point of DEI, Trump has also issued a memo closing all government DEI offices, effective, practically, immediately.
00:19:49.820 Every single federal government agency was just ordered to begin closing all of their DEI offices, 5 p.m. deadline today.
00:19:58.440 Here's the exact words of the memo.
00:20:01.660 No later than 5 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, January 22nd.
00:20:05.860 What are the agencies required to do?
00:20:07.940 Send an agency-wide notice to employees informing them of the closure, asking employees if they know of any efforts to disguise these programs by using coded or imprecise language.
00:20:18.060 A template agency-wide notice is attached.
00:20:20.560 So saying, you're going to close the offices, and if you even think about trying to establish a new office, the Office of Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity.
00:20:31.020 It's not DEI, it's EID or something like that.
00:20:33.560 If you try to mask these programs in some other way, we're going to get you.
00:20:37.800 We're going to shut that down too.
00:20:39.480 We're going to have these people rat on you, and we're going to root you out of the government.
00:20:42.820 After A, B, send a notification to all employees of DEIA offices that they are being placed on paid administrative leave effective immediately, as the agency takes steps to close and all DEIA initiatives, offices, and programs.
00:20:57.560 So we're not even going to let these DEI people continue to float around the government.
00:21:00.880 You're out.
00:21:01.640 We'll keep paying you for now.
00:21:02.920 Don't worry.
00:21:03.400 We don't want a legal fight about your paychecks or whatever, but you're out.
00:21:06.440 Go home.
00:21:07.500 This is like when Charles II showed up, and he dissolved the parliament.
00:21:11.200 That's like Trump, but he's not doing it to Congress.
00:21:14.220 Trump is showing up to the bureaucracy.
00:21:16.220 And like Charles II, he gets up there, and he just bangs on the floor, and he says, gentlemen, go home.
00:21:23.460 You are not needed here, DEI offices.
00:21:28.200 All out.
00:21:30.020 This is really precise stuff.
00:21:32.480 President Trump in the first term was sometimes criticized for being a little loose with his language, a little ambiguous.
00:21:37.760 You know, he had the right idea, but he wasn't turning the levers of power in the most efficient ways because of an advantage of Trump, which is that he was a Washington outsider.
00:21:46.100 But he didn't know how the city worked.
00:21:47.980 This is not Washington outsider machinations.
00:21:52.240 This is Washington outsider instinct coupled with Washington insider tactics.
00:22:00.100 Day one.
00:22:01.340 Day one.
00:22:03.020 This is good stuff.
00:22:05.360 And then we get to the pardons.

00:23:25.520 President Trump has pardoned all of the January 6thers.
00:23:28.740 Period.
00:23:29.240 Full stop.
00:23:30.560 There was a big question about this in the campaign.
00:23:32.820 Would Trump let the January 6thers rot?
00:23:36.120 Would Trump pardon some of the January 6thers but not the really, really bad ones?
00:23:41.800 That was kind of the middle ground?
00:23:43.140 You heard that from a lot of Republicans.
00:23:45.860 Or would he just pardon all of them?
00:23:49.280 It appears that he's just pardoning all of them, including people who got really crazy sentences.
00:23:55.020 I mean, all of the January 6thers who went to jail got some kind of crazy sentence.
00:23:59.520 People who, you know, went to jail for months or years even because they took selfies in the Capitol Rotunda.
00:24:06.380 They weren't particularly violent.
00:24:07.680 You know, they moved Nancy Pelosi's lectern or whatever.
00:24:10.140 Getting all this time in prison.
00:24:11.620 But you think of someone like Enrique Tarrio.
00:24:14.740 Enrique Tarrio was the head of the Proud Boys.
00:24:18.140 We were told the Proud Boys was a white supremacist neo-Nazi organization.
00:24:21.120 And you have a black Hispanic guy, Enrique Tarrio, who's the head of it.
00:24:24.320 It's kind of unusual.
00:24:25.760 He was serving a 22-year prison sentence.
00:24:30.080 For what?
00:24:32.240 For conspiracy, to conspire, to collude, to do bad stuff.
00:24:38.080 It was totally insane.
00:24:39.680 Trump has pardoned him, commuted sentences of all these people, 1,500 people.
00:24:48.020 The Federal Bureau of Prisons said 211 people had been released from federal facilities following Trump's order.
00:24:53.980 This is more sweeping than some people predicted.
00:24:56.320 And it serves a political purpose.
00:24:58.200 There are going to be some, even on the right, who say, well, it shouldn't have been all of them.
00:25:00.680 He should have left some of them either in prison or should have at least left this mark on their criminal records.
00:25:05.620 What this tells you is that Trump wants the statement to be that the January 6th prosecutions were not just individually unjust, but systematically unjust.
00:25:21.700 That's what this is about.
00:25:22.640 Trump here with these pardons is making a statement about January 6th, the worst day in the history of this rainy republic, about the January 6th prosecutions.
00:25:32.220 Had he pardoned or commuted the sentences of some people but left a significant number of people in prison or with this mark on their records, he would be saying the January 6th prosecutions went too far.
00:25:43.780 But that's not what he's saying.
00:25:45.840 He's saying the whole January 6th thing was a political operation.
00:25:52.900 It was a setup.
00:25:54.180 It was a hoax.
00:25:55.140 It was a political op.
00:25:56.280 The whole thing was rotten to its core.
00:25:58.460 The January 6th select committee committed crimes.
00:26:01.600 Don't forget, this also probably is a response to Joe Biden's preemptive pardoning of the January 6th committee, which committed crimes, which hid evidence, which hid information that was exculpatory to people on the right.
00:26:16.760 So this is a little bit of a tit for tat too.
00:26:18.960 If any libs are out there, hard libs who are really miffed about this pardon, you have no one to thank but Joe Biden.
00:26:26.540 Okay, but even beyond, even without the Biden pardon, Trump is saying the whole January 6th thing was a political operation.
00:26:33.760 And so we're going to wipe that whole thing away.
00:26:36.160 None of that should have happened.
00:26:37.900 Trump requested security forces to the Capitol.
00:26:42.520 Pelosi said no.
00:26:43.740 Then we saw this footage years later that actually the Capitol Police let some of these people in, these insurrectionists, gave them, it appeared to be a guided tour around the Capitol.
00:26:53.980 Hold on, this is not what we were told it was.
00:26:55.740 The whole thing just looked like an op, and now it's over.
00:26:59.200 Speaking of pardons, President Trump is also pardoning Ross Ulbricht.
00:27:02.880 Who's Ross Ulbricht?
00:27:04.800 He is the founder of the Silk Road, which was this dark, hidden internet, black market for drugs and reportedly contract killings and all sorts of really dark stuff.
00:27:17.520 Paid for, usually with cryptocurrency, really with Bitcoin.
00:27:20.640 This guy got caught, and he was serving a life sentence.
00:27:25.700 A life sentence without the possibility of parole since 2015.
00:27:29.380 This is going on 10 years now.
00:27:31.620 He was convicted on charges that included distributing narcotics and conspiring to commit computer hacking.
00:27:36.960 So this was really what got him, it was the illegal drug sales, and those drug sales contributed to the death of at least six people.
00:27:46.300 So he was serving this life sentence without the possibility of parole.
00:27:49.040 I don't really care ideologically to pardon this guy.
00:27:53.520 I actually think it's good to be tough on these guys.
00:27:55.720 I don't think there's some right.
00:27:57.100 I'm not an anarchist.
00:27:58.600 I'm not a libertarian.
00:27:59.500 I don't think there's some right to black markets, to sell drugs, or anything else.
00:28:04.280 I have no problem in principle with this guy spending his entire life in prison.
00:28:07.840 I mean, that's not a popular view anymore, but I'm a conservative.
00:28:11.240 I'm not a radical libertarian or anarchist or anything like that.
00:28:14.400 But I have no problem in principle with this guy spending his life in prison, as long as the law is applied fairly, and as long as the other drug dealers and the other criminals are receiving harsh sentences too.
00:28:27.140 The problem is today, on the one hand, we're being told by our political order, we need to let the drug dealers out of prison.
00:28:33.320 How strange is that?
00:28:34.700 At the same time that the political elite tell us, we need to let all the drug dealers out of prison, Joe Biden commuting the sentences of all these pro-drug people.
00:28:42.500 The left trying to liberalize drug laws, legalize drugs.
00:28:47.660 On the other hand, then this guy, who basically just was a drug dealer with Bitcoin, that guy is going to serve a life sentence without possibility of parole.
00:28:55.720 Well, that doesn't mean, that seems totally discordant.
00:28:57.640 It seems like they were going after him, maybe for more ideological hobby horses.
00:29:02.880 So Trump pardons him.
00:29:04.780 He says, I just called the mother of Ross William Ulbricht.
00:29:09.300 I think he actually spelled it Ulbricht, but it's Ulbricht, to let her know that in honor of her and the libertarian movement, which supported me so strongly, it was my pleasure to have just signed a full and unconditional pardon of her son, Ross.
00:29:20.520 The scum that worked to convict him were some of the same lunatics who were involved in the modern day weaponization of government against me.
00:29:26.300 He was given two life sentences plus 40 years.
00:29:28.200 Ridiculous.
00:29:28.760 Yeah.
00:29:29.800 Okay.
00:29:30.280 So what do we take away from this?
00:29:33.760 All right, there you have, he says it right there, in honor of the libertarian movement.
00:29:36.360 I'm not a libertarian, so it doesn't really do that much for me, but I do like part of the subtext of this.
00:29:44.140 I was there, I was at the Bitcoin conference when people were, and the Bitcoin conference was largely made up of libertarians.
00:29:50.200 People were really campaigning to free Ross Ulbricht and they said, Trump will support you, but this is a big issue for us.
00:29:56.520 You got to free Ross Ulbricht.
00:29:58.360 And he said, yes, I will.
00:30:00.480 And so what's he doing here?
00:30:01.720 He's just keeping his promise.
00:30:05.620 He's saying, hey, allies, you had my back.
00:30:07.900 I'm going to have your back.
00:30:09.140 Even with the January 6th, there's these people who went out there, they demonstrated for Trump.
00:30:13.940 Some got a little carried away.
00:30:15.220 Some were federal agents who hated Trump probably, but they go out there, they support this guy.
00:30:21.140 And Trump is saying, hey, I got you.
00:30:23.000 You're being unfairly targeted because you've aligned yourself with my side of things.
00:30:27.340 You've gone out on a limb.
00:30:28.300 Don't worry.
00:30:28.660 I got you.
00:30:29.100 Hey, even the way he's speaking here, I really like this because he's not saying I am a libertarian
00:30:33.000 and I really care about libertarianism.
00:30:34.400 He goes, yeah, look, to help out the libertarian movement, which supported me because I said
00:30:38.580 that I would do this, I'm going to do this thing.
00:30:40.200 I'm going to keep my promises.
00:30:41.500 Watch me.
00:30:43.000 While Washington, D.C. was just full, everything going on, constant churning of events, so much
00:30:51.200 to do in the early days of being president.
00:30:54.660 And Trump just says, I'm keeping this promise.
00:30:56.600 I'm keeping that promise.
00:30:57.420 I'm moving.
00:30:58.060 I mean, just working nonstop.
00:31:01.280 And speaking of crypto, Trump is now a crypto billionaire.
00:31:06.400 I meant to get to this story yesterday, but there's just too much going on.
00:31:09.080 There's the Trump meme coin.
00:31:11.280 The Trump meme coin was launched a day or two before Trump was inaugurated.
00:31:17.740 It now accounts for 89% of Trump's net worth.
00:31:22.140 Trump's crypto portfolio is now reported.
00:31:24.500 Who knows?
00:31:24.860 It changes by the hour.
00:31:25.880 But it is, as of recently, worth up to $58 billion on paper, which makes Donald Trump one of the 25 richest people in the world, in principle, on paper.
00:31:36.560 Now, the Trump coin is not a true coin in itself.
00:31:41.020 It's a token that's issued on the Solana blockchain.
00:31:43.020 There's also Melania coin.
00:31:44.200 But now Trump is a crypto billionaire.
00:31:49.040 The vast majority of his wealth on paper is in crypto.
00:31:52.920 And so people are saying, I don't like this.
00:31:55.380 This is weird.
00:31:56.340 I don't know.
00:31:56.640 Does this raise emoluments questions?
00:31:58.940 Why is he doing this?
00:32:00.600 Does crypto have any value?
00:32:02.220 Do these meme coins have any value?
00:32:03.780 The meme coins themselves say that these are not really investment instruments, so don't gamble all your money away on them.
00:32:09.080 So what is this?
00:32:11.080 Is it just Trump trying to enrich himself?
00:32:12.800 Look, Trump is good at making money.
00:32:15.560 He's been a rich guy all his life.
00:32:17.940 But even when he was bankrupt, he was still sort of a rich guy because he had this comeback.
00:32:21.560 He had that art of the comeback, both in business and in politics.
00:32:25.800 But I don't think this is just about enriching himself personally.
00:32:29.400 Because Trump is not only personally pro-crypto, he is politically pro-crypto.
00:32:34.360 I was at that Bitcoin conference when Trump embraced crypto.
00:32:39.040 This is a signal to me.
00:32:40.740 The launching of the Trump meme coin is a signal to me.
00:32:43.760 Trump is going to fulfill his promises to the Bitcoin community, not just on freeing Ross Ulbricht from the Silk Road.
00:32:49.540 That maybe he's going to get the federal government to invest a little bit in crypto.
00:32:54.900 That maybe he's going to turn the government to be supportive of crypto and Bitcoin.
00:33:01.020 And he's going to make some money in the meantime.
00:33:02.740 He's showing that this is a real avenue for storing wealth.
00:33:09.040 For transacting.
00:33:10.780 He's basically saying this is a real thing.
00:33:13.220 I don't know.
00:33:13.520 I've always been kind of skeptical of crypto.
00:33:15.020 But that's the signal here.
00:33:16.340 It's not just a personal one.
00:33:17.720 It's a political one.
00:33:18.680 Now, speaking of investments on slightly more tangible assets.
00:33:23.420 Lindsey Graham is coming out.
00:33:25.220 CBS Face the Nation to discuss the massive border investment that the Trump administration and the Republicans in Congress plan to make for border security.
00:33:37.100 Do you have a top line number yet on how much this is all going to cost?
00:33:41.940 Yes, $100 billion for border security through reconciliation would be enough to hire ICE agents, create new detention beds, and finish the wall and put technology in place.
00:33:56.680 Over four years, $200 billion will be given to the military to make it more capable of deterring China.
00:34:03.400 $100 billion for border, $200 billion for the military.
00:34:07.000 I met with Mike Johnson yesterday.
00:34:09.960 He's a dear friend.
00:34:12.040 I admire him greatly.
00:34:13.540 He has a political problem in the House.
00:34:15.540 He wants to do one big, beautiful bill.
00:34:18.560 I've never been more worried about an attack on our homeland than I am now.
00:34:21.960 With the rise of ISIS in Afghanistan and wars all over the world, I think the number one priority for the Republican Party should be to secure that border.
00:34:32.220 You need new money to do it.
00:34:34.040 And if we don't, we're playing Russian roulette with our own national security.
00:34:38.100 Absolutely right.
00:34:38.880 So you have, even here, I think it's helpful that Lindsey Graham is the one going out.
00:34:42.480 Because Lindsey Graham is sometimes considered a little bit squishier.
00:34:45.840 He's a little bit more moderate.
00:34:47.300 Sometimes they call him Lindsey Graham-nesty, even.
00:34:50.180 And he's the one who's coming out saying, no, no, we're doing it, baby.
00:34:52.620 Don't, we are, the Republicans in the House and the Senate might have all sorts of divisions, but we are unified on this major campaign promise from Trump and from many of them when they were going out to get votes for themselves.

00:35:47.460 My favorite comment yesterday is from EG Microscope 5786.
00:35:52.960 I actually, you know, I'm going to bring you behind the scenes here.
00:35:56.120 Usually the producers send me comments before the show and they say, pick your favorite comment.
00:36:01.520 This time everyone's traveling, everyone's a little scattered.
00:36:04.240 So I didn't get the comments before.
00:36:05.300 I said, you pick the comment guys, but it better be really, really good.
00:36:07.960 So we're going to see if this truly is my favorite comment.
00:36:10.480 They say, you would think a doctor helping people through a pandemic would never need a presidential pardon.
00:36:19.100 You're so right.
00:36:20.240 I do like that observation.
00:36:23.060 Mr. Davies or Professor Jacob or Markella, whichever one of you picked that.
00:36:27.080 It's a good comment and it's a good point.
00:36:28.940 Makes you wonder about Dr. Fauci.
00:36:34.520 Democrats are really, really disheartened right now.
00:36:37.640 The media are crestfallen.
00:36:39.540 They realize that they've lost a lot of their mojo.
00:36:43.040 Barack Obama, it seems like he's going to go into exile.
00:36:45.880 Joe Biden, just done.
00:36:47.800 I waved goodbye to him as Marine One took off.
00:36:50.640 The Dems seem to recognize something has gone radically wrong for them.
00:36:57.520 Except for the Democrats in Congress.
00:36:59.280 They have not gotten that message.
00:37:01.820 They do not seem to have moderated at all.
00:37:05.060 Here is AOC's reaction to the inauguration of Trump.
00:37:07.980 All these journalists are like, Congresswoman, are you going to the inauguration?
00:37:12.320 Congresswoman, are you going to the inauguration?
00:37:14.280 Are you going to the inauguration?
00:37:16.440 Let me make myself clear.
00:37:19.080 I don't celebrate rapists.
00:37:22.640 So no, I'm not going to the inauguration tomorrow.
00:37:25.360 Okay, that's it.
00:37:27.560 Trump, he, Trump's a rapist.
00:37:29.320 And that's why I'm not going to the inauguration.
00:37:33.280 She doesn't believe that.
00:37:35.460 She doesn't.
00:37:37.240 Nobody, no, nobody seriously believes that Donald Trump is a rapist.
00:37:42.600 I know some liberal judge in New York found Trump, what, civilly liable, not for rape, actually.
00:37:49.860 George Stephanopoulos was sued and CBS News, or ABC News, rather, had to pay out a major settlement to Trump because of the defamation of saying what AOC just said about Trump.
00:37:59.860 So AOC maybe wants to watch out as well because CBS just had to pay out big over that very same claim, which a court ruled is false.
00:38:09.380 But, you know, there was this civil thing about some woman, some tabloid gossip columnist from the 1990s claimed 30 years after the fact that Trump groped her, harassed her,
00:38:23.400 or even assaulted her in a Bergdorf-Goodman dressing room or something.
00:38:28.960 But this was after she went on TV and told Anderson Cooper that women want to be raped.
00:38:33.860 And Anderson clearly was, like, shocked by this and cut to commercial.
00:38:37.140 And it was, I don't know, it didn't seem like the most credible accusation.
00:38:42.120 But this was at the time when everyone was just trying to get Trump to not to appear on the ballot and maybe to even imprison him.
00:38:50.040 So, okay, that's what the claim AOC is making.
00:38:52.940 But I want you to zoom out from all of that, even if you're a Democrat.
00:38:55.680 I know there are many Democrats and liberals who listen to this show.
00:38:59.840 Do you really think Donald Trump's a rapist?
00:39:02.580 Do you really think that?
00:39:03.780 Look, no one's around.
00:39:04.640 No one's listening.
00:39:06.080 You're not on stage in a political debate.
00:39:07.920 Do you really believe Donald Trump, the guy from The Apprentice, the billionaire playboy from Home Alone,
00:39:17.580 who's never had a problem dating women, never had a problem having supermodels throw themselves at him.
00:39:22.200 Donald Trump, he's a rapist?
00:39:24.160 Do you believe that?
00:39:26.060 I don't think you believe that.
00:39:27.420 What I think is AOC and the Democrats are really sad that Trump became president and they don't want to go and they want to take their ball and go home and they want an excuse.
00:39:40.920 They want some way to justify their pulling out of the political process, they're undermining democracy, they're refusing to participate in the peaceful transfer of power.
00:39:50.520 They want to justify doing all the things that they've accused Trump of doing over the years and the way they're going to do it, because they have nothing, they have absolutely nothing, is they're going to make this obscene and exaggerated comment.
00:40:04.920 They're going to say Trump's a rapist.
00:40:07.340 Call him a murderer, too.
00:40:08.520 Why not?
00:40:10.240 He's a serial killer.
00:40:12.640 It would be just as credible.
00:40:14.980 No one really believes that.
00:40:16.040 Do you know what else people don't believe?
00:40:17.920 No one really believes, though I've been told many, many times over the last 24 hours, no one really believes that Elon Musk is a Nazi.
00:40:26.380 But here's a little clip.
00:40:28.060 This went viral, played on CNN, went viral on X, owned by Elon Musk.
00:40:32.720 Here's the proof that Elon Musk is a Nazi.
00:40:38.940 There it is.
00:40:40.800 There it is.
00:40:41.520 He did the Zieg Heil.
00:40:42.580 He did the Roman salute, didn't he?
00:40:43.880 And there it is right there.
00:40:46.100 But hold on.
00:40:47.160 Elon posted the full context of this gesture.
00:40:52.540 Tell me if you think this man is a Nazi.
00:40:56.380 This is what victory feels like.
00:41:21.420 Yeah.
00:41:21.920 And this was no ordinary victory.
00:41:26.980 This was a fork in the road of human civilization.
00:41:31.280 Okay.
00:41:31.980 This, this, you know, there are elections that, elections that come and go.
00:41:37.460 Some, some elections are, you know, important, some are not.
00:41:41.200 But, but this one, this one, this one, this one really matters.
00:41:47.680 And I just want to say thank you for making it happen.
00:41:51.580 Thank you.
00:41:52.260 My heart goes out to you.
00:42:02.040 It is thanks to you that the future of civilization is assured.
00:42:06.780 My heart goes out to you.
00:42:10.240 Here to here, my heart goes out to you.
00:42:12.680 Now, you might say, oh, Michael, it just doesn't make sense.
00:42:14.760 Why would he make that weird kind of spastic movement with his arm?
00:42:17.760 Did you see him walk on stage?
00:42:19.380 Have you ever seen him walk on stage at one of these rallies?
00:42:21.660 He's a quirky guy.
00:42:22.820 Okay.
00:42:23.200 He comes out, he jumps up and down a little bit.
00:42:24.900 He moves his arms in crazy ways.
00:42:27.000 That's not surprising to me at all.
00:42:29.020 You say, oh, my heart, my heart goes out to you.
00:42:31.760 You know, did it once.
00:42:32.800 This is Elon Musk, who, while interviewing the head of the Alternative for Deutschland,
00:42:38.180 agreed with her, was talking with her about how Hitler was a communist,
00:42:41.800 which is not true, but it's a popular refrain among people who,
00:42:46.480 like Elon Musk, are libertarians, people who are classical liberals.
00:42:51.420 Do you, just again, all right, all right, hold on, come on.
00:42:53.960 It's just us here, folks, okay?
00:42:55.100 Even you Democrats and libs who are listening.
00:42:57.320 You saw the clip.
00:42:59.920 You think Elon Musk is a Nazi?
00:43:01.400 You think Elon Musk is a Nazi?
00:43:03.380 You really think that?
00:43:04.300 No, you don't.
00:43:05.300 No, you don't.
00:43:06.020 And these kinds of attacks, I think, are so weak.
00:43:09.400 After all the hoaxes, including the very fine people hoax,
00:43:13.600 during which liberals tried to pretend that Trump called Nazis fine people,
00:43:17.720 when he explicitly said, I'm not talking about Nazis.
00:43:20.680 They should be condemned totally.
00:43:21.940 Joe Biden launched his presidential campaign in 2020 on that lie.
00:43:25.920 It's just collapsed, okay?
00:43:28.140 Like Joe Biden, it's just collapsed.
00:43:30.080 This, I don't know, it's weak stuff.
00:43:32.360 This is the best they got?
00:43:34.740 Trump's a rapist.
00:43:35.680 Elon Musk is a Nazi.
00:43:36.860 Who are you, who are you trying to convince?
00:43:39.000 Who are you even trying to convince with that nonsense?
00:43:41.620 Okay, back to Congress now.
00:43:43.380 I don't think that 145 Democrats in the House voting against a bill to deport rapists and murderers,
00:43:51.720 I don't think that's going to play well either.
00:43:53.420 And I'm not exaggerating there either.
00:43:58.140 145 Democrats just voted against a bill introduced by Nancy Mace to deport immigrants for sex crimes and domestic violence.
00:44:09.560 And these are really, these are the worst of the worst.
00:44:14.160 Nancy Mace introduces this bill, says, hey, look, before we get to deporting the millions and millions of other people who shouldn't be here illegally,
00:44:20.320 can we all at least agree on the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act?
00:44:28.680 This is a bill that passed the House with the support of 213 Republicans and 61 Democrats,
00:44:34.540 which means that 145 Democrats voted against the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act.
00:44:41.720 They voted in favor of violence against women by illegal aliens.
00:44:46.720 But here's AOC, Trump's a rapist and I don't support rapists.
00:44:51.560 Oh, yeah, well, that's fine because 145 of you guys just voted literally to support actual rapists in America illegally,
00:44:58.220 people who shouldn't be here even if they didn't commit those crimes.
00:45:00.480 You voted for that.
00:45:02.120 Why?
00:45:03.480 Because the highest political good for the Democrats is to expand their power.
00:45:09.220 They believe the way to expand their power is to flood the country with foreigners who are statistically quite likely to vote for them
00:45:16.320 and for their children and grandchildren to vote for them.
00:45:19.880 And they will do anything to try to preserve that.
00:45:24.640 They'll keep rapists here.
00:45:26.140 They'll keep murderers here.
00:45:28.000 They'll keep drug dealers here.
00:45:29.720 They'll allow Americans to be poisoned and killed.
00:45:32.260 They'll do anything to try to keep that power.
00:45:35.020 And it's not working.
00:45:35.780 And as this election has represented this major shift, their strategy just hasn't worked out.
00:45:42.000 Many of the Democrats in the presidential class, you know, the Obamas, maybe the Bidens, in the media class, even in academia,
00:45:50.880 they've said, okay, we have to rethink this.
00:45:53.140 These House Democrats, because sometimes, I don't want to be stereotypical, but sometimes members of Congress, especially on the left,
00:46:00.140 they're not the most agile thinkers in the world.
00:46:03.300 Let's put it that way.
00:46:04.140 They're stuck in this rut.
00:46:05.800 They say we're going to double down.
00:46:06.640 I know how we're going to improve our votes next time.
00:46:09.260 We're going to vote to defend illegal alien rapists.
00:46:13.140 That's a good idea.
00:46:14.820 Let's see how that works out for you.
00:46:16.540 Now, Trump has come in with this clear vision.
00:46:20.620 That's what we've been talking about all show.
00:46:22.600 He's represented this vision with a new image.
00:46:26.300 Trump has his official inaugural portrait.
00:46:29.320 And this was released a few days ago, but I think he's lived up to the image in just the past 48 hours.
00:46:37.080 It's this picture, clearly based on the mugshot of Trump.
00:46:42.180 It's the same kind of expression.
00:46:44.880 It's almost a recreation of it.
00:46:46.540 It's Trump looking real serious.
00:46:49.600 Mouth totally flat.
00:46:52.100 Eyes a little bit squinted.
00:46:55.220 You know, he's looking clearly at you.
00:46:56.940 One eyebrow, a little bit up, head down.
00:47:00.180 No one can accuse this man of not understanding show business.
00:47:03.580 It's a huge contrast with what we saw for Trump's first official photo.
00:47:08.980 First Trump, Trump's first official photo, rather.
00:47:11.960 Standing up straight, shoulders back, head up, big smile, all happy.
00:47:19.320 Go back to the new one.
00:47:21.000 The new one.
00:47:22.760 A little bit more leaning forward a little bit.
00:47:25.000 Even just that, the lean.
00:47:26.940 Trump's not going to leave anything to chance.
00:47:28.580 He's not going to allow months and years to go by trying to confirm his appointees.
00:47:33.260 He's not thinking about this on the job.
00:47:36.300 Leaning in.
00:47:37.280 He's had four years to prepare for this.
00:47:39.840 And there's no more Mr. Nice Guy.
00:47:43.620 And Trump has been talking about this on the trail.
00:47:45.660 There should be no surprise that this is the symbol of his new administration.
00:47:49.320 But we say talk is cheap, right?
00:47:51.500 However, Trump is backing up the talk with words, with actions.
00:47:55.720 This is like, you know, Trump talked about himself as a big tough guy for so many years.
00:48:00.460 Some people wondered, is he really a tough guy or does he just talk a good talk?
00:48:04.040 He's a New Yorker.
00:48:04.760 New Yorkers can talk real well.
00:48:06.300 Well, when he was shot in Pennsylvania, he stood up.
00:48:10.080 He said, let me get my shoe on.
00:48:11.020 He stands up facing down people who could still be shooting him.
00:48:13.860 And he just yells, fight, fight, fight.
00:48:15.320 He proved he's the guy he said he was.
00:48:17.740 It wasn't just talk.
00:48:18.640 He can actually walk the walk.
00:48:19.860 I think that's what you're seeing the first two days of this administration.
00:48:22.640 He said, we're going to be serious this time.
00:48:24.780 We're going to get things done much more efficiently, much quicker.
00:48:27.460 We're going, we know, we know the kind of punches we need to throw to really weaken this awful liberal establishment.
00:48:34.560 First 48 hours, he's proving it.
00:48:38.100 Speaking of portraits and courage, the quarterback of the Redskins, who, what's the new name of the Redskins?
00:48:45.260 What do they call it now?
00:48:46.300 The Commanders.
00:48:47.300 The Commanders.
00:48:48.160 The new, yeah, the Commanders.
00:48:49.520 This is the Trump era, baby.
00:48:50.880 We're going back to the Redskins like tomorrow.
00:48:52.800 At this pace, they're going to be the Redskins again by Friday, okay?
00:48:56.120 But regardless, the quarterback of the Redskins is coming out, and he is restoring normality even to the NFL, which has become awful in recent years, by talking about God, by talking about our Lord Jesus Christ on the football field.
00:49:12.220 But we've got to get to that story tomorrow, because we're running out of time, okay?
00:49:16.240 So you know I'm a tease.
00:49:17.480 Well, that's the tease.
00:49:18.740 This is not just going on in politics, in the government.
00:49:22.720 There are cultural effects of even the first days of the Trump administration.
00:49:27.560 But today's Woke Wednesday.
00:49:28.720 The rest of the show continues now.
00:49:29.860 You do not want to miss it.
00:49:31.000 Become a member.
00:49:31.520 Use code NOLS.

00:49:35.800 Thank you.
