00:00:37.660 President Trump is brutalizing the Democrat governor of Maine, the woke top brass of the military, and the president of Ukraine.
00:00:46.820 All of which is great news for the people of Maine, for our troops in the military, and oddly enough, even for the president of Ukraine.
00:00:55.380 America's strategic realignment from weakness to, how shall I put it, FAFO is moving full steam ahead.
00:01:05.000 I'm Michael Knowles.
00:01:05.700 This is The Michael Knowles Show.
00:01:06.500 Welcome back to the show.
00:01:26.820 A man accused of cannibalism and hacking someone to death with an axe has been granted conditional release.
00:01:32.720 So much for law and order in America.
00:01:34.680 There's so much more to say first, though.
00:01:37.760 Go to VandyCrisps.com slash discount slash Knowles.
00:01:42.760 Potato chips were not always just another snack food.
00:01:45.360 Back in the 1850s, they were accidentally invented when Cornelius Vanderbilt complained that his potatoes were not thin enough.
00:01:51.940 And the chef sent them back extra crispy.
00:01:54.480 They became the hottest high-end finger food in America.
00:01:57.620 And here's the thing.
00:01:58.460 They were made with real beef tallow, not processed seed oils.
00:02:01.860 That is why VandyCrisps was created.
00:02:03.900 It is the first real potato chip that you have probably ever tasted in your entire life, made the way that they were made 100 years ago.
00:02:12.740 They have three simple ingredients.
00:02:14.860 Heirloom potatoes, grass-fed beef tallow, and sea salt.
00:02:18.080 Not only is it that much better tasting, that tallow is also packed with nutrients that are great for your brain, your skin, your hormones.
00:02:26.340 They're 100% American-made.
00:02:28.040 It isโ€”I struggle to even call it a potato chip.
00:02:31.120 It is so much better that it is categorically different than any chip you have ever eaten.
00:02:35.980 They're just magnificent.
00:02:38.040 And sweet little Elisa thinks so, too.
00:02:39.760 And they pass her health checks.
00:02:42.120 And they pass my taste check.
00:02:44.380 VandyCrisps.com slash discount slash nulls.
00:02:47.080 Get 20% off your order.
00:02:48.280 I guarantee you, it will be far and away, orders of magnitude more, the greatest potato chip you have ever eaten in your life.
00:03:00.600 President Trump just hosted an event for the governors of the various states, and he got into a delicious exchange, almost as delicious as a VandyCrisp potato chip, a truly just scrumptious little exchange with the Democrat governor of Maine, Janet Mills.
00:03:22.300 It was over Maine's threat not to follow federal law when it comes to keeping men out of women's sports.
00:03:30.300 Here's the exchange.
00:03:32.040 The NCAA has complied immediately, by the way.
00:03:35.600 That's good.
00:03:36.220 But I understand Maine.
00:03:38.300 Is Maine here, the governor of Maine?
00:03:41.100 Are you not going to comply with it?
00:03:44.080 I'm complying with the state and federal law.
00:03:46.340 Well, we are the federal law.
00:03:48.660 Well, you better do it.
00:03:49.800 You better do it because you're not going to get any federal funding at all if you don't.
00:03:53.280 And by the way, your population, even though it's somewhat liberal, although I did very well there, your population doesn't want men playing.
00:04:00.300 So you better comply because otherwise you're not getting any federal funding.
00:04:06.500 I'll see you in court.
00:04:07.180 Every state.
00:04:08.160 Good.
00:04:08.400 I'll see you in court.
00:04:09.060 I look forward to that.
00:04:09.960 That should be a real easy one.
00:04:12.880 And enjoy your life after governor because I don't think you'll be in elected politics.
00:04:17.040 Oh, just so good.
00:04:19.420 So good.
00:04:19.800 Trump just puts her on the spot.
00:04:21.760 And what's supposed to be a very nice, happy, diplomatic meeting with all the governors of both parties.
00:04:28.420 He says, hey, I heard the governor of Maine is not going to follow federal law.
00:04:31.440 Well, yes, we will follow federal law.
00:04:33.240 Yeah, we are the federal law.
00:04:34.540 So if you if you're not going to follow what we're telling you to do, you're in violation of federal law.
00:04:39.000 I'll see you in court.
00:04:40.260 Yeah, good.
00:04:40.660 I can't wait.
00:04:41.360 Oh, that's going to be a fun one.
00:04:42.780 I can't wait to see you in court.
00:04:44.160 That's great.
00:04:44.640 And then I hope you enjoy your retirement because you're never getting elected again.
00:04:49.400 This is beautiful.
00:04:52.700 Really, really beautiful.
00:04:54.300 In part, at a 30,000 foot civics view, this is how the government is supposed to work.
00:05:01.620 You are supposed to have sometimes a little bit of disagreement between the states and the federal government.
00:05:07.280 And in this case, the federal government is totally in the right.
00:05:10.240 And so one hopes and expects that Trump will be able to just totally squash this Democrat governor of Maine.
00:05:15.940 But the other reason it's really beautiful from a little more practical political level is the vast majority of Americans do not believe men should be competing in women's sports.
00:05:25.580 They don't want men forcing themselves into girls' locker rooms.
00:05:29.340 They don't want men giving girls concussions when they play volleyball with them or cracking their skulls when they're boxing with them.
00:05:35.420 They don't want they know it's ridiculous and they feel it at a visceral level.
00:05:40.240 So once again, Trump puts himself on the right side of an 80-20 issue.
00:05:46.600 How many Americans are going to watch that exchange and say, I'm with the Democrat governor of Maine?
00:05:52.580 Yeah, let those men just go in and brutalize little girls.
00:05:56.020 How many?
00:05:56.700 I'm being as generous as I can be.
00:05:58.420 What's it going to be, 20%?
00:05:59.980 Tops?
00:06:00.500 Probably going to be more like 10% or 5%.
00:06:02.560 This is like when Trump came out.
00:06:04.520 He said, we're going back to plastic straws.
00:06:06.800 We're not going to have those stupid paper straws anymore.
00:06:08.420 Baiting the Democrats to take the side of paper straws, which no one likes, including Democrats.
00:06:14.220 Beautiful, beautiful stuff.
00:06:15.740 And he doesn't back away.
00:06:16.600 He knows that he has got the momentum.
00:06:18.840 He knows, this is really the significance of November.
00:06:22.320 He's got the popular vote.
00:06:23.540 Most people are with him.
00:06:24.820 He goes, he says, hey, all right, hope everyone's having a good lunch.
00:06:26.920 Hey, who can I pick on?
00:06:28.040 Oh, yeah, Governor of Maine.
00:06:29.840 You think you're going to play games with me?
00:06:31.740 I'm putting you on the spot right now with a national, frankly, international spotlight.
00:06:37.380 And what's the best the Democrats can do?
00:06:39.280 What is their pushback?
00:06:40.960 The best response they can come up with to President Trump's initiative is to call him racist.
00:06:49.460 I kid you not.
00:06:50.540 This has been the reflexive Democrat move for 40, 50 years at this point.
00:06:55.440 And they're just, they're trying that.
00:06:57.020 It's got diminishing marginal returns.
00:07:00.220 In fact, a big driver of the 2024 election was how much people hate political correctness,
00:07:05.320 wokeness, DEI, the kind of embedded racial grievance in our politics.
00:07:11.540 Trump wins on, we're going to get rid of DEI.
00:07:14.100 He implements getting rid of DEI, this kind of radical leftism, identity politics in our government.
00:07:20.060 And then Jim Clyburn, Democrat senator, race hustler par excellence, goes on CNN.
00:07:28.760 And he says, you know, all of this anti-DEI stuff, the fact that President Trump just replaced the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
00:07:36.900 because that chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, C.Q. Brown, was a big proponent of DEI.
00:07:42.540 He said, that's just evidence of Trump's racism.
00:07:45.020 Frankly, it's the new N-word.
00:07:46.380 Because of his skin color, he has been declared DEI or woke.
00:07:55.820 Is that why you think the president has let him go, because he's black?
00:08:00.780 That's what I think.
00:08:02.380 As you know, there have been others who have been fired, including Defense Secretary Hegseth has fired other senior military leaders,
00:08:08.880 Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Lisa Franchetti, Air Force Vice Chief of Staff, General James Slife.
00:08:15.660 What is your reaction to those who would say, hold on, there were others who will let go.
00:08:20.560 Are you leaping to conclusions?
00:08:22.480 What's your reaction?
00:08:24.360 I'm not leaping to anything.
00:08:26.140 I'm going by that book that Hegseth wrote.
00:08:30.060 What did he write in that book?
00:08:32.700 You know that these words that they're throwing around like woke, that's an acronym that they've come up with.
00:08:39.020 And you know what it means.
00:08:41.680 When they say DEI, we know what it means.
00:08:45.740 As I heard somebody say earlier today, they are substituting these acronyms for the N-word.
00:08:53.640 It's the N-word.
00:08:57.000 D-E-I, or woke, are acronyms?
00:09:01.460 Was that the word he used?
00:09:02.360 Did Jim Clyburn say acronyms?
00:09:05.500 That's not a word.
00:09:07.400 Previously, I thought that Clyburn was just a radical leftist.
00:09:11.740 Now I'm not convinced he's even literate.
00:09:13.720 I'm not sure that he even knows how to use the English language, which actually bodes well for him,
00:09:18.020 because it means he might not be malicious.
00:09:19.700 He might just be completely ignorant.
00:09:22.320 It's an acronyms.
00:09:23.880 But then later he uses the word acronym.
00:09:25.940 He says, you know, this DEI, it's an acronym.
00:09:29.260 DEI is not an acronym.
00:09:30.660 DEI is an initialism.
00:09:31.920 There's a difference between an acronym and an initialism.
00:09:33.980 I'm being a little pedantic here, and I digress.
00:09:36.260 He says it's the new N-word.
00:09:39.540 But you heard the question from CNN.
00:09:41.700 Even CNN, the black lady on CNN says, hold on, you're saying it's the N-word.
00:09:45.920 You're saying this, the guy was fired because he's black.
00:09:48.280 But Trump also fired an Italian lady and a white guy at the same time.
00:09:52.800 So of the three people I'm showing on screen here, only one of them is black.
00:09:58.140 Why would you say he's being fired just because he's black?
00:10:00.560 And Clyburn doubles down, and he starts making up words,
00:10:03.120 and he starts babbling like a child who doesn't never learn the English language.
00:10:06.860 But the end result of it is the same.
00:10:09.460 It's the same conclusion we've heard from the libs for 40, 50 years.
00:10:12.900 If you oppose us in any way, we're going to smear you as racist.
00:10:18.180 So, okay, before we get into how that's a stupid tactic, let's just take it on the merits, okay?
00:10:24.440 Clyburn says that the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, C.Q. Brown,
00:10:28.260 was fired not because he is a leftist politically, not because he's woke,
00:10:33.800 not because he engages in ugly racial identity politics.
00:10:38.640 No, no, no, he's not leftist.
00:10:40.180 He's not woke.
00:10:41.120 It's just because he's black.
00:10:42.120 Okay, is C.Q. Brown a big lib?
00:10:45.600 Let's go to the tape.
00:10:47.420 I'm thinking about how full I am with emotion, not just for George Floyd,
00:10:51.600 but the many African-Americans that have suffered the same fate as George Floyd.
00:10:55.460 Memo, you said that, you signed on to, that there should be a reduction, essentially,
00:11:01.940 of about 9% of the white officers.
00:11:04.780 That's 5,400.
00:11:07.820 We have 5,400, you know, too many white officers.
00:11:12.120 These are the kinds of things that we are, as an Air Force, are looking,
00:11:15.900 how do we engage with different diverse communities based on race and gender in particular.
00:11:21.180 This is actually pretty impressive because we've had a lot of leftists moved up into the top brass in recent years.
00:11:28.840 It's one of the reasons morale in the military is so low.
00:11:32.140 It's one of the reasons they have recruitment issues.
00:11:34.020 It's one of the reasons why Pete Hegseth was put into that position because at least he raises the morale a little bit.
00:11:38.740 But it's just ugly, ugly stuff, okay?
00:11:41.240 And Trump was actually nice about the firing.
00:11:44.320 Trump came in and he said, you know, look, I want to thank the chairman of the Joint Chiefs for his years of service in the military.
00:11:53.600 Thank you.
00:11:54.260 And now we're going to rectify one of the problems of the Biden administration.
00:11:57.320 Someone who was passed over for promotion is going to get this promotion.
00:12:00.060 So he was actually diplomatic.
00:12:01.180 He didn't come in and lay the hammer down on this guy, C.Q. Brown.
00:12:04.240 But he is a leftist in the military.
00:12:06.880 He's advancing a despicable, woke ideology, politically correct ideology, whatever you want to call it.
00:12:13.780 It's not good for military fitness.
00:12:15.720 The American people rejected it overwhelmingly.
00:12:17.760 The majority of voters rejected it in November.
00:12:20.520 He's out.
00:12:21.060 And Jim Clyburn and the Democrats can say, oh, it's because he's black.
00:12:23.700 Oh, it's the N-word.
00:12:25.180 Oh, you guys are racist, racist, racist.
00:12:26.800 But it doesn't work when Trump gets an historic proportion of the black male vote, almost 50% of Hispanics.
00:12:32.160 The racism thing, it's just played out.
00:12:35.280 There's so much more to say first, though.

00:13:38.820 Meanwhile, speaking of foreign affairs, President Trump has just announced a new deal for Ukraine because, you know, the liberal establishment had been pushing Ukraine and endless military funding and keeping that country to be a meat grinder to kill as many Russians as possible and sacrifice as many Ukrainians as possible.
00:14:01.160 But there's really no end in sight to the conflict, and it was just going to go on and on and on and potentially boil over into a regional or even global war.
00:14:10.220 Trump says, okay, I got a deal for Ukraine.
00:14:14.060 You're going to pay us back for the money that we've given you, and you're going to pay us back with mineral rights in Ukraine.
00:14:19.500 And that's actually going to be better, not only for the United States, but for Ukraine itself.
00:14:26.620 How close are you to striking a minerals deal with Ukraine?
00:14:29.240 I think we're pretty close, yeah.
00:14:30.640 I think they want it, and they feel good about it.
00:14:33.080 And it's significant.
00:14:34.620 It's a big deal.
00:14:35.820 But they want it, and it keeps us in that country, and they're very happy about it.
00:14:40.480 But we get our money back.
00:14:42.900 This should have been signed long before we went in.
00:14:45.520 It should have been signed by Biden, but Biden didn't know too much about what he was doing.
00:14:51.000 The war should have never happened, number one.
00:14:53.600 When it did happen, it could have been settled the first week or two weeks.
00:14:56.500 After that, it got bad.
00:14:58.100 It got really bad.
00:14:59.180 But it should have never happened, and it should have been settled.
00:15:03.060 And it could have been settled very easily at the beginning.
00:15:05.800 Now it's tougher, but we'll get it settled.
00:15:07.880 So the libs are saying this is absolutely terrible.
00:15:10.640 Trump is trying to secure this minerals deal and extract money out of Ukraine.
00:15:16.280 Granted, we've given hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine here.
00:15:19.000 So asking for a little something back is, I don't think, immoral or out of the question.
00:15:25.120 However, they're saying this is wrong because America, just we give aid to our friends.
00:15:29.700 I guess Ukraine is our friend.
00:15:30.800 And we support people, and it's never self-interested.
00:15:33.720 And hold on, hold on.
00:15:34.660 Now, what they don't seem to understand is incentives.
00:15:41.320 I think it's a little bit overstated sometimes on the right how important it is to have a
00:15:45.600 businessman as president because you also want a statesman as president.
00:15:48.860 You also want a philosopher as president.
00:15:50.360 You also want someone who gets the big picture historically and militarily and ethically.
00:15:56.760 And so it's more than just business.
00:15:58.200 But this would be an area where having a businessman as president is a real advantage because while
00:16:05.960 the libs want us to continue writing a blank check to Ukraine ad infinitum with no goal
00:16:12.900 in sight, with no real benefit to the United States in sight, Trump is saying, no, hold on.
00:16:18.500 If you want us to keep backing Ukraine, you got to give us some skin in the game.
00:16:24.320 You got to give us some potential upside here.
00:16:26.520 We live in a democracy, so the people can turn against the war.
00:16:31.200 We get sick of war very quickly, and the American people are sick of this war already.
00:16:35.520 So if you want us to have any continued involvement in Ukraine and not just give it away to Russia's
00:16:41.300 traditional sphere of influence, which it's been in for something like a thousand years
00:16:44.560 or more, then you got to give us some stake in it.
00:16:49.120 That's what Trump is saying here.
00:16:50.320 He's saying a mineral deal in Ukraine means, one, the United States is going to invest money
00:16:57.240 in Ukraine, not just in sending you weapons.
00:16:59.140 We're going to invest money in building out this industry, which is good for you.
00:17:03.340 Then, because we're going to maybe be making a little bit of money on this, we're going
00:17:07.180 to have a reason to stay in Ukraine.
00:17:08.940 We're going to have a reason to stop Russia from going in and just taking over your country.
00:17:12.980 It's almost certainly not going to pay for all the hundreds of billions of dollars that
00:17:17.440 we've spent on the Ukraine war, which is also fine for Ukraine.
00:17:21.940 Ukraine's definitely getting the better end of the bargain here, but you're giving the
00:17:24.340 United States a little bit of a stake.
00:17:25.720 You're aligning incentives in such a way that gives us any reason whatsoever to stick around.
00:17:33.100 Now, Zelensky didn't get this right away, because Zelensky is not a great leader.
00:17:36.840 So, Zelensky says he was going to reject this deal and blah, blah, blah.
00:17:41.020 He's coming around on the deal, okay?
00:17:43.480 Ukraine should have been begging for a mineral deal like this, okay?
00:17:47.260 This is the best guarantee of support, of U.S. support, that that country has ever had.
00:17:52.360 And sometimes it takes a businessman.
00:17:55.060 Now, speaking of death and destruction, a man accused of cannibalism and hacking someone
00:18:04.140 to death with an ax has just been granted conditional release, coming to a neighborhood near you.
00:18:11.860 This man, this is an amazing, amazing story.
00:18:14.980 Pulling it up here from NBC Boston.
00:18:17.920 Connecticut man, accused of all these hideous things, has been granted release according to
00:18:24.780 the Connecticut Psychiatry Security Review Board.
00:18:27.560 Just a few lines from this article.
00:18:31.120 He's currently at Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown.
00:18:34.380 Smith is accused of hacking a man to death with an ax in Bridgeport and eating part of
00:18:38.380 the victim's brain and an eyeball.
00:18:42.200 The PSRB said Smith has demonstrated long-term stability, remained engaged in all recommended
00:18:47.920 treatments, and consistently followed his care.
00:18:50.140 The board granted Tyree Smith's release after a careful review of his clinical progress,
00:18:56.360 officials said.
00:18:57.380 This is third world stuff.
00:19:01.760 This is third world stuff to let murderer cannibals out of prison, willy-nilly, no concern
00:19:08.940 for the victims or the victims' families, just, oh, it's okay, he's out now.
00:19:12.080 And what's funny is, the leftists who promote this stuff, who promote clemency, who campaign
00:19:21.440 ardently against the death penalty, even in principle, who want to go soft on crime, and
00:19:25.880 some of them want to abolish prisons.
00:19:27.120 They accuse conservatives who want to be a little tougher on crime.
00:19:34.080 They accuse us of being kind of third world, medieval, this old tribal system of punishment.
00:19:40.240 In the third world, one of the defining features is that the law is not evenly applied.
00:19:49.020 It's capricious, criminals run loose, injustice dominates.
00:19:54.120 And that's what we're doing here.
00:19:55.120 We have a few more steps in the middle.
00:19:56.740 We have a few more lawyers.
00:19:57.920 We have the ACLU.
00:19:59.120 We have all these campaigns based on dubious philosophy and ideology.
00:20:04.500 But it's the same thing.
00:20:06.300 You can literally murder and eat somebody in America.
00:20:13.240 And if you fit the right narrative, racially, ideologically, maybe geographically, you'll
00:20:19.060 get off the hook.
00:20:21.300 That's crazy, man.
00:20:23.320 That's totally crazy.
00:20:24.420 How do you get to that point?
00:20:25.800 I understand how you get to it in the third world.
00:20:27.520 They just don't have enough resources to lock up the criminals.
00:20:30.080 We're lousy with resources, man.
00:20:32.320 We have a super abundance of resources.
00:20:34.160 We choose not to lock up the criminals, even the murderer cannibals.
00:20:40.020 How do we get there?
00:20:41.780 I'll tell you exactly how we get there.
00:20:44.560 This is the consequence of perverting our justice system to throw retribution out the
00:20:51.660 window.
00:20:52.660 What do we think of when we think of our justice system today?
00:20:54.960 We say it's a corrections system.
00:20:58.180 It exists to rehabilitate people.
00:21:01.180 And yeah, there's a correctional or rehabilitative aspect to punishment.
00:21:06.960 There's also a deterrent aspect to punishment, which we also ignore.
00:21:10.460 You punish bad guys to deter other bad guys.
00:21:13.900 But the primary purpose of the criminal justice system is to punish people for having done bad
00:21:21.740 things.
00:21:22.760 That is the primary purpose.
00:21:25.120 The leftists say, oh, that's uncivilized.
00:21:27.340 We don't want to just punish people.
00:21:28.600 An eye for an eye will make the world blind.
00:21:33.300 The primary purpose of the justice system has to be retribution.
00:21:38.760 Because one, that is what is most closely connected to justice.
00:21:45.120 Justice is giving to people what they deserve.
00:21:47.920 When you do good, you get good.
00:21:49.160 When you do bad, you get bad.
00:21:50.900 But furthermore, everyone is in need of a little rehabilitation.
00:21:54.200 Everyone's got problems.
00:21:55.000 I got problems.
00:21:56.080 I have temptations.
00:21:57.480 I do bad things.
00:21:59.880 Should I be thrown in prison?
00:22:01.740 No, I haven't broken the law.
00:22:04.320 No, should you be thrown in prison because, you know, you want to reach for that fifth
00:22:07.280 cupcake?
00:22:07.740 No, you haven't broken a law.
00:22:09.280 You go to prison for breaking the law and you are punished for your crime.
00:22:14.600 And hopefully you're rehabilitated there.
00:22:16.160 And hopefully your presence there deters people.
00:22:17.700 But you have to recognize that there are good things and bad things.
00:22:22.740 And when you do bad things, you are punished for it simply for doing the bad thing.
00:22:26.980 And if we, we are now, we are so morally confused in society.
00:22:32.520 I mean, we're murdering babies.
00:22:33.700 We're selling babies to the highest bidder.
00:22:35.720 We're cracking open our border, allowing face-tattooed Satanists to flood our country
00:22:39.820 with foreign criminals.
00:22:40.860 I mean, we are real confused.
00:22:42.580 But if we have now reached the point when we don't know, we can't discern the good or
00:22:48.740 bad in murder and cannibalism, you know something about our justice system has really, really
00:22:56.080 collapsed.
00:22:57.700 Now I have a question for you.
00:22:59.160 What happens when a Christian takes psychedelics?
00:23:03.080 Joshua Zatkov sat down with me to share his mind-altering experience, what he saw, how it
00:23:07.400 changed his perspective on faith, reality, and the spiritual world.
00:23:11.320 Check out this teaser from Michael and the Psychonaut.
00:23:15.160 When I started getting into DMT, where I was having encounters with light beings, what
00:23:19.600 did you think the light beings were?
00:23:21.480 With acid and mushrooms, you don't typically, at least I never had visuals.
00:23:27.000 With the DMT, this was like full-on, like you're seeing a whole world just crack open
00:23:32.600 in front of you.
00:23:33.340 What would they tell you?
00:23:34.180 These three beings come in my room, and another one came in, and it was dragging.
00:23:37.400 My body, and they told me, if you don't stop doing heroin, this is you.

00:23:59.220 Speaking of the third world, Democrat Representative Jasmine Crockett, this is a member of Congress,
00:24:04.940 Democrat.
00:24:06.120 She went on The Breakfast Club show to explain how she is rooting for Canada and Mexico over
00:24:12.920 the United States.
00:24:15.000 Really been the one to call it out.
00:24:17.020 The fact that I'm rooting for Canada and I'm rooting for Mexico a lot is really wild, but
00:24:22.000 they are really the ones that are speaking truth to power right now.
00:24:25.640 They can see what it is, and they were like, we are not messing with this crazy regime from
00:24:29.460 Mar-a-Lago and basically calling them thugs.
00:24:32.340 That's what it is.
00:24:33.320 But I'm like, y'all knew who he was when y'all elected him.
00:24:35.920 So don't act surprised.
00:24:38.440 Yeah, yeah.
00:24:39.180 You know, I'm just rooting.
00:24:40.260 I'm rooting for Canada and Mexico now.
00:24:43.060 And that's so wild, huh?
00:24:45.560 That isn't wild.
00:24:47.480 The left always roots against America.
00:24:49.600 And I'm not just throwing bombs, and I'm not being a cheap partisan here.
00:24:55.000 Show me the counterexample.
00:24:57.860 To an actual leftist, identifies, says, I'm on the left, I'm an ideological leftist.
00:25:04.960 You ask them, hey, what do you think about the founding of America?
00:25:06.880 What are they going to tell you?
00:25:07.600 The first thing they're going to tell you is, this country was founded on stolen land.
00:25:12.760 The evil white man, he took the land from the Indians.
00:25:17.240 They'll call them Native Americans or something.
00:25:19.560 And then this country was built on the backs of slaves.
00:25:23.560 The injustice of slavery, which has been practiced everywhere in the world for all of history.
00:25:27.340 It was actually practiced here probably less time than just about anywhere else in the entire world.
00:25:31.280 But it was built on slavery, and then discrimination, and then sexism, and then homophobia, and then transphobia,
00:25:39.040 and nothing ever good ever happened in this country.
00:25:41.440 But for the poor, oppressed, marginalized people, who sometimes were able to throw an axe and crack the hellish facade that covers America,
00:25:55.800 that's what they'll tell you.
00:25:57.920 They always root against America.
00:26:01.680 Why is that?
00:26:02.860 I don't even think I, we don't need to say any more about that.
00:26:05.300 I think even many on the left would agree with that.
00:26:07.800 But they, they'll say, no, no, we love America.
00:26:09.520 We love what America could be.
00:26:11.460 You know, but that, to say you love what America could be, or, you know, the dream of what America might be someday,
00:26:15.980 that, that is to say you don't like what America is now.
00:26:18.740 You don't like what America was yesterday.
00:26:20.640 You don't like what America's ever been.
00:26:22.140 When Barack Obama says he wants to fundamentally transform America,
00:26:25.000 that is another way of saying he hates America as it is and as it has been.
00:26:28.020 And it represents a contempt for one's country.
00:26:33.020 And as I've said it many times on the show, liberalism is just screw you, dad.
00:26:39.560 It comes down to three words, screw you, dad.
00:26:42.280 And this is related even etymologically, because this contempt for one's country is a contempt for the patria.
00:26:50.460 You know, that's the, like patriotic, you know, that's your country.
00:26:53.320 It comes from, it comes from the same root as pater, as father.
00:26:56.740 They both come from the same thing, and they come from the same contempt.
00:27:00.280 And so it's no surprise.
00:27:01.040 I'm rooting against America.
00:27:02.240 Oh, gee, you don't say Democrat congressman.
00:27:04.520 Wow, shocking.
00:27:05.360 Now, speaking of, not just women, but men too.
00:27:11.780 There's a story I wanted to get to last week.
00:27:14.300 I didn't have time, but I really want to get to it.
00:27:17.560 This is, this is very much in line with unsurprising news stories.
00:27:21.400 Headline from the Washington Post.
00:27:22.760 Men may be more romantic than women, experts say.
00:27:30.340 A question, is it true that men are more romantic than women?
00:27:34.800 And then you get like a billion words on yes.
00:27:41.260 Yeah, yeah, you don't need, you don't need an article in the Washington Post for that.
00:27:45.300 But you don't need studies and experts to tell you things that everyone just knows.
00:27:52.320 How many love poems have been written by women?
00:27:56.320 Ever.
00:27:57.480 How many love ballads have been written by women?
00:28:00.980 Like none.
00:28:02.040 Like none ever.
00:28:04.200 And I don't know, I guess maybe in our modern culture, because we're so poisoned by feminism
00:28:07.880 and the sexual confusion, we think, no, it's kind of like the people who say,
00:28:12.980 well, I think a woman could beat up a man.
00:28:15.260 You know, it just depends on if they meet the same standards.
00:28:17.600 You think, no, no.
00:28:19.740 Statistically, no woman in the world can beat up any man.
00:28:24.300 I know that there are like one or two exceptions maybe,
00:28:27.240 and that's what the libs are always going to point to.
00:28:28.620 But statistically speaking, no woman can beat up any man.
00:28:32.600 And I think the same is true here.
00:28:34.520 Some women have a romantic sensibility.
00:28:36.280 Maybe there are some exceptions.
00:28:37.800 Some men do not at all.
00:28:39.300 But yes, men are more romantic than women.
00:28:42.780 Because they need to be.
00:28:45.020 Women are the ones who are pursued.
00:28:47.320 Men are the ones who do the pursuing.
00:28:49.580 So men write the love poems.
00:28:51.860 Men write the love ballads.
00:28:54.200 Men, you know, hold the boombox outside the girl's window at night, you know,
00:28:58.620 begs for her love.
00:29:00.120 Men send the flowers.
00:29:01.320 Men get down on their knee.
00:29:02.340 Yes, men are more romantic.
00:29:04.780 They have to be.
00:29:05.500 It's the same reason that men are funnier than women.
00:29:08.280 Women don't need to be funny.
00:29:10.160 Women are pursued.
00:29:11.260 Men pursue.
00:29:13.240 So men, we got to use everything we can get.
00:29:16.280 And men aren't as good looking as women.
00:29:18.880 So we need to, we got to use every tool in our toolbox.
00:29:24.260 Write the poem.
00:29:25.760 Tell the joke.
00:29:27.040 And whatever, make the money.
00:29:28.240 I don't know.
00:29:28.660 Whatever.
00:29:29.800 Good grief.
00:29:30.300 We're just, it's all of a piece with all of these big headlines based on scientific studies
00:29:37.500 and all the experts to tell us things that our grandparents knew intuitively.
00:29:42.660 We're pathetic.
00:29:43.560 Well, actually, where's your source though?
00:29:45.700 Where's your source that men are more romantic?
00:29:48.700 I don't know.
00:29:49.320 Every poem ever written, I guess.
00:29:51.260 Is that a good enough source?
00:29:53.040 Now, speaking of men and women, there is an actor who I'd never heard of, but apparently
00:29:58.080 he's an actor.
00:29:58.720 But he thinks that he's a woman and his name is Hunter James Schaefer.
00:30:02.480 And he's in some show.
00:30:03.420 I don't even know what show it is.
00:30:04.760 He is furious that now under the Trump administration, his passport will identify him as a male.
00:30:15.680 Bureau of Consular Affairs has frozen passport applications requesting a gender marker change
00:30:21.480 or renewals or new applications with a gender marker deferring from an applicant's gender assigned
00:30:27.820 at birth.
00:30:28.720 So my initial reaction to this, because our president, you know, is a lot of talk, was
00:30:40.420 like, I'll believe it when I see it.
00:30:44.180 And today, I saw it on my new passport mail.
00:30:55.780 So now to specify, I my gender markers were first changed in my teens when I first got my driver's
00:31:08.100 license and then passports following all have been female since then.
00:31:16.680 It hasn't really been a problem.
00:31:19.960 Okay, there's the issue.
00:31:23.240 That is a problem.
00:31:25.220 It's a problem when official documents lie.
00:31:30.240 It's a problem even just the level of national security when when official documents pertaining
00:31:38.940 to national security cannot identify a person as a man or a woman or cannot reliably identify
00:31:44.500 a person as a man or a woman.
00:31:45.700 That is a problem.
00:31:48.120 It's a problem when a woman has her rights violated and is is denied even her own bathroom or even her
00:31:55.520 own locker room.
00:31:56.280 That's a problem that what the left says with the gender ideology is that's not when why is this a
00:32:01.640 problem?
00:32:01.840 This isn't a problem.
00:32:02.560 You're making this a problem.
00:32:03.280 No, no.
00:32:03.500 It just is a problem.
00:32:05.560 When you lie, when you infringe on the legitimate rights of people, when you take 890 medals and
00:32:13.340 trophies away from hundreds of women across 29 different sports and you take their scholarships
00:32:19.440 and you take that's a problem.
00:32:20.960 It's not a problem for you.
00:32:22.140 It's nice for you, you think, but it's a problem for these other people.
00:32:27.400 So it's never been a problem.
00:32:28.660 No, it is.
00:32:29.380 It is living out of accord with reality is a problem.
00:32:33.040 It creates many, many problems, myriad problems, uncountable number of problems.
00:32:38.960 Now, you feel bad for this guy in particular.
00:32:41.680 This is a freaky one because this guy does kind of look like a woman.
00:32:45.120 So almost all transvestites and trans identifying people don't really look like the opposite
00:32:52.160 sex, but this guy kind of does.
00:32:54.060 And that's freaky.
00:32:54.860 I mean, that's actually kind of a problem, too.
00:32:56.560 All right.
00:32:56.860 Because you imagine some guy starts dating this guy and he thinks he's dating a woman
00:33:01.500 and he thinks he's going to get married and have kids and then he finds out one day,
00:33:05.220 oh, no, I ain't going to happen, man.
00:33:07.100 I got, you know, I'm a man.
00:33:09.400 That's a problem.
00:33:10.360 That's actually wrong.
00:33:11.440 Even to that, it's just disordered and wrong, okay?
00:33:16.420 And one feels for this guy because apparently this guy got trans when he was like two years
00:33:20.320 old.
00:33:20.900 And if you look at his Wikipedia page, it says, you know, he started expressing his
00:33:24.480 feminine, well, it's a she, but, you know, he started expressing his femininity when he
00:33:28.240 was a toddler.
00:33:29.800 What does that mean?
00:33:30.480 That means that one or both of his parents were abusive.
00:33:34.760 That's all that means.
00:33:35.520 If his parents are leading him to believe that he's the opposite sex as a toddler, they're
00:33:42.840 abusive, either through negligence and ignorance or through malice.
00:33:46.080 But that act in itself is abusive to a child.
00:33:51.040 And then, you know, he says, and that's why I got my passport changed to the opposite sex
00:33:54.740 when I was a teenager.
00:33:55.820 Yeah, I have a great deal of pity for this guy.
00:33:58.480 I mean, he has had a messed up life for sure.
00:34:00.940 That does not give him the right to mess up other people's lives, to mess up our national
00:34:07.740 security, to mess up our system of rights and privileges for men and women.
00:34:12.980 It doesn't, it's a problem, whether he thinks so or not.

00:34:42.420 My favorite comment yesterday is from Lynn Nichols, 2847, who says, it's actually refreshing
00:34:48.420 to see humor back in the U.S. government.
00:34:50.700 The jokes and laughter and smiling faces are such a welcome change from the sourpusses' angry
00:34:55.200 bitter faces of the past several years.
00:34:57.040 I totally agree.
00:34:58.060 I was on two news shows when I was in Washington a few days ago.
00:35:02.760 I was on PBS NewsHour, great, great privilege to be invited on there, you know, that don't
00:35:07.240 necessarily always invite conservatives on, so I was very grateful to be on.
00:35:10.240 And I was on Washington Journal on C-SPAN, which I had been on a number of times, though
00:35:13.960 this was the first time in person.
00:35:15.220 And I was asked about, you know, about Trump, is he an authoritarian, is he, one question
00:35:19.740 in particular pertained to him quoting Napoleon.
00:35:24.740 Can you believe this?
00:35:25.880 Isn't this terrifying?
00:35:27.100 Trump is quoting Napoleon.
00:35:28.900 Trump is saying things like, you know, long live the king or whatever.
00:35:31.720 And I think, oh man, it's okay to laugh a little bit, man.
00:35:37.160 You know, it's, Trump is an entertainer.
00:35:39.220 He was one of the biggest entertainers in the country for decades, but he was the number
00:35:44.920 one rated on network television for like 15 years.
00:35:48.100 The guy can tell a joke, whatever you want to say about him.
00:35:50.640 Ronald Reagan would begin his meetings and many of his speeches with jokes.
00:35:55.060 It's okay.
00:35:56.120 The angels can fly because they can take themselves lightly, says G.K.
00:35:59.040 Chesterton.
00:35:59.520 It's all right.
00:35:59.920 Now, speaking of Trump calling himself a king, Madonna, the singer, Madonna, she's in the news
00:36:09.800 and she's furious at Trump.
00:36:13.040 She tweets out, I thought this country was built by Europeans escaping living under the
00:36:19.180 rule of a king to establish a new world governed by the people.
00:36:22.880 Currently, we have a president who calls himself our king.
00:36:26.980 If this is a joke, I'm not laughing.
00:36:31.520 And Trump said, he said, long live the king because Trump tweeted out, he said, I'm ending
00:36:37.060 congestion pricing in New York.
00:36:40.180 I'm saving New York.
00:36:41.960 Long live the king.
00:36:43.700 She goes, this is, I thought this country was built by Europeans.
00:36:47.080 All right, put a pause right there.
00:36:48.140 Whoa.
00:36:48.820 Hey lady, cool it with the racism.
00:36:51.140 Because, you know, she didn't think about this, but, and the country was built by Europeans.
00:36:54.780 But to say that is to say that white people built the country, which you're not allowed
00:37:02.640 to say, because you have to say this country was built first by Native Americans who were
00:37:07.800 brutalized by the evil white man.
00:37:10.440 And then the evil white man brought over the black man and he built the country.
00:37:14.180 And the only person who didn't build the country at all is the white man.
00:37:17.140 But actually, Madonna just came out.
00:37:18.700 She goes, I thought this country was built by white people.
00:37:21.280 Yo lady.
00:37:22.300 Hey, cool it, David Duke.
00:37:23.560 All right, I thought this was a multicultural democracy.
00:37:26.620 So anyway, that was a slip of hers.
00:37:28.300 She didn't mean to say that, but she did.
00:37:30.240 It says they were escaping, living under the rule of a king.
00:37:32.980 And now our president calls himself the king.
00:37:36.600 If this is a joke, I'm not laughing.
00:37:38.460 So I Googled.
00:37:39.380 I said, hold on a second.
00:37:40.860 I just want to, let me just go to Madonna's Wikipedia page.
00:37:43.840 So I go, this is the first two sentences on Madonna's Wikipedia page.
00:37:48.900 Madonna Louise Ciccone is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress commonly known as the queen of pop.
00:37:58.780 She has been recognized for her continual reinvention of her still doing music production, songwriting, and visual presentation.
00:38:04.820 Did you catch that?
00:38:08.200 She, ah, hold on.
00:38:09.780 I thought this was a country founded by Europeans escaping the intolerable yoke placed on them by a tyrant monarch.
00:38:18.060 And this woman calls herself the queen of pop.
00:38:21.800 I won't stand for it.
00:38:24.600 Or is it just a kind of a tongue-in-cheek little title?
00:38:28.120 I think it might be that.
00:38:30.020 The biggest part of, I mean, she looks kind of silly here.
00:38:34.240 You know, Elvis Presley, he didn't realize this country was built by Europeans seeking to escape the king.
00:38:39.780 No, it's all right.
00:38:40.300 And Trump, when he makes a little joke, he says, look, I just fixed a traffic problem in New York from the federal government.
00:38:45.720 I have saved New York City.
00:38:48.320 I am the king.
00:38:49.460 I am the man.
00:38:51.260 It's like, basically, it's like him getting up and singing that song from 10 years ago.
00:38:54.260 You could tell everybody, I'm the man, I'm the man.
00:38:57.000 That's basically what he's saying.
00:38:58.840 All that different.
00:38:59.820 But really, the notable thing that she said here that very few people are picking up on,
00:39:05.760 I thought this country was built by Europeans.
00:39:07.580 Wow.
00:39:08.460 Wokeness, political correctness, racial identity politics is so dead that we're even now permitted to admit
00:39:15.420 that places like New Amsterdam and New England were established by Europeans.
00:39:22.080 That's amazing.
00:39:23.500 Speaking of the Europeans, President Trump was just asked about the German elections,
00:39:27.160 which I'm not even going to really cover all that much.
00:39:28.940 It's not that interesting.
00:39:30.560 The short version of the German elections is that the AFD party, which is called far right,
00:39:35.560 even though it's not far right, it's led by a lesbian libertarian who thinks that Hitler was a Marxist.
00:39:40.080 So it's like a regular kind of libertarian sort of right-wing party in America.
00:39:45.660 But they call it far right.
00:39:47.220 There's a firewall against it.
00:39:48.500 No one works with them.
00:39:49.500 They managed to double their support, the AFD, which is impressive.
00:39:53.820 Doesn't get them across the finish line.
00:39:55.540 The regular old conservatives who are kind of libs won.
00:39:58.460 You know, it's not that much to say.
00:40:00.340 But in the run-up to the election,
00:40:02.980 the president was asked what he thought about the German elections.
00:40:06.820 And he gave what I thought was a perfect answer.
00:40:10.340 Germany has elections on Sunday.
00:40:12.440 What are your thoughts?
00:40:13.660 What do you expect to happen in the elections on Sunday?
00:40:15.840 Who has elections?
00:40:16.960 Germany.
00:40:17.920 Oh, Germany.
00:40:18.740 I wish them luck.
00:40:19.720 We got our own problems.
00:40:23.220 Goodbye, everybody.
00:40:24.300 Thank you very much.
00:40:25.400 Thank you.
00:40:25.860 Thank you for us.
00:40:26.800 We got our own problems.
00:40:34.020 Good luck, guys.
00:40:35.100 I love this.
00:40:36.660 This attitude is strong from the standpoint of America first and not getting entangled in alliances all over the world.
00:40:44.920 But it's actually a strong attitude even from the standpoint of geopolitics.
00:40:50.260 Because what Trump is saying here is, hey, we're going to lead.
00:40:54.060 I'm not watching the German elections to see if I'm going to get away with being able to do some of the things I want to do.
00:41:01.840 Trump is quite involved in different parts of the world.
00:41:04.500 He was just able, it seems like he was able, to cut this mineral deal in Ukraine.
00:41:09.380 He was the most successful foreign policy president probably of my lifetime.
00:41:12.680 George H.W. Bush was also very successful.
00:41:15.640 But Trump's up there.
00:41:16.960 And Trump maybe was a better foreign policy president even.
00:41:20.960 And Trump comes out and he says, what?
00:41:23.420 The German elections?
00:41:24.160 Whatever.
00:41:25.220 Who cares?
00:41:26.400 We're going to be doing what we're doing.
00:41:28.800 We are going to lead.
00:41:30.460 And because Trump is not an isolationist or whatever the libs want to call him.
00:41:34.580 Manifestly not.
00:41:35.180 He wants to acquire Greenland and Canada.
00:41:37.320 He wants to build a casino in Gaza.
00:41:39.400 He wants to get mineral rights in Ukraine.
00:41:41.760 He is not an isolationist.
00:41:43.400 Not far from it.
00:41:44.920 Trump is a realist when it comes to the fact that America is the global empire.
00:41:50.820 And as such, he says, yeah, look, we're going to keep doing what we're doing.
00:41:57.380 Europeans better get on board.
00:41:59.800 You don't ask me about the German elections.
00:42:03.040 You ought to ask the Germans about the American elections.
00:42:05.360 That's what's going to be important.
00:42:06.360 Now, speaking of foreign relations with America, I have news.
00:42:11.420 I'm just going to tease it.
00:42:13.500 I'm just going to tease.
00:42:14.340 You know me, I'm a tease and I'm running out of time.
00:42:16.360 But this is bad news.
00:42:19.540 You know John Oliver?
00:42:21.000 He's the liberal British guy who started out on The Daily Show and then he got his own show.
00:42:25.740 And he just, he does, you can't even say that he makes jokes.
00:42:30.800 He just reads a headline from American political news and then just is like, what the F?
00:42:38.120 You know, in, are you effing kidding or whatever?
00:42:41.100 And that's the substitute for a joke.
00:42:43.400 But anyway, he's super annoying and doesn't offer any insight on American politics.
00:42:48.180 And he's vowing to stay in America despite President Trump.
00:42:53.100 Which actually, that fact tells you something about all of these, all of the hand-wringing over President Trump.
00:42:58.880 We'll get to that tomorrow.
00:42:59.820 But I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
00:43:02.020 John Oliver is staying in America.
00:43:04.820 Now, very exciting Membrum Segmentum today.
00:43:08.160 I'm going to be doing a little crossover with my friend, Mr. Ben Shapiro,
00:43:11.180 to talk about a big news story that we actually didn't have time to get to today,
00:43:14.580 which is the Pope's health.
00:43:16.620 There are news reports out that Pope Francis is on his deathbed potentially
00:43:19.900 and lots of jockeying for position over who the next Pope will be,
00:43:23.820 what it all means, how to think about it.
00:43:25.840 The rest of the show continues now.
