00:02:14.960 I love the American flag, as should you.
00:02:17.600 And this flag is handmade in Charleston, South Carolina.
00:02:20.580 It's not one of those cheap flags.
00:02:22.120 It's going to fall apart.
00:02:23.320 Made overseas.
00:02:24.220 About to get a lot more expensive.

00:02:48.340 Start showing your allegiance to our great and beautiful country.
00:02:52.760 We're going to go around the world in 42 minutes today.
00:02:55.960 There are stories popping off all over the world.
00:02:58.140 I have been traveling like crazy.
00:02:59.740 I just got back from the Premium Cigar Association Convention in New Orleans.
00:03:03.980 I survived New Orleans.
00:03:05.540 You know, a few Coca-Colas, one or two cigars.
00:03:07.480 Nice, nice big brass bands.
00:03:10.120 It was a good time.
00:03:11.500 But in Australia, there is really, really good news for an issue that we've all been fighting on for a long time.
00:03:20.800 A mother was trying desperately to trans her kid in Australia. 0.93
00:03:25.860 The issue went to court and a judge has ruled.
00:03:29.700 Finally, this might be the first story like this.
00:03:32.740 A judge has ruled against a crazy mother who was trying to trans her poor little kid. 1.00
00:03:39.280 The Australian, the newspaper, reports that Justice Andrew Strum awarded sole custody of a 12-year-old boy to the boy's father.
00:03:49.200 The boy's father who opposed the boy's mother, the boy's mother who was trying to turn the 12-year-old boy into a 12-year-old girl.
00:03:56.360 This is a pretty lengthy judgment, a 58,000-word judgment that looked into the gender clinic that was involved in attempting to trans this kid.
00:04:05.620 And they found that the clinic had not formally diagnosed the little 12-year-old boy with gender dysphoria until the court case began.
00:04:16.580 So they were starting to trans the kid.
00:04:18.580 They never even diagnosed him with gender dysphoria.
00:04:20.840 And the judge determined that the boy did not have gender dysphoria. 0.98
00:04:25.480 He just had a crazy mother living in a crazy culture. 1.00
00:04:29.560 According to the Australian, quote,
00:04:31.360 The judge accepted evidence that the gender clinic has an ideological commitment to the medicalized gender-affirming model.
00:04:39.060 So that the mother takes this poor little boy to the gender clinic. 0.97
00:04:42.140 But the gender clinic is not a serious medical institution because the gender clinic never rules that a child does not have gender dysphoria.
00:04:52.740 The gender clinic is just an ideological, I don't know, what would you call it, conversion therapy factory that just takes in poor little kids who have lunatic parents and tries to chop them up and make them look like the opposite sex. 1.00
00:05:07.180 According to the judge, quote,
00:05:10.260 No alternative treatment options are offered by the clinic for gender dysphoria diagnosed there other than prescription of puberty blockers by a pediatrician.
00:05:20.680 A doctor whose diagnosis of the boy was in dispute, quote,
00:05:24.280 Could not identify a single case of a child who had been referred by her or one of her colleagues to a pediatrician at that clinic who had not been prescribed puberty blockers.
00:05:34.140 That's got to raise your eyebrow.
00:05:35.340 Even if you believe in transgenderism or whatever other nonsense, it's got to raise your eyebrow that 100% of cases referred to this clinic result in puberty blockers and a de facto diagnosis of gender dysphoria and trancing the kids. 0.54
00:05:51.060 There is nothing in medicine that comes out with a 100% rate.
00:05:56.940 So this is great news for this poor little kid.
00:05:59.320 Great news for the fight to eradicate transgenderism from public life entirely. 1.00
00:06:02.720 However, we got to remember something here.
00:06:06.840 One of the big political wins out of this case is it shows that empathy arguments can cut both ways.
00:06:13.560 Because so often you hear the empathy argument from people on the left, from the pro-trans side.
00:06:19.200 It says, what about the poor LGBT youth?
00:06:23.400 You know, we need to support trans kids.
00:06:25.780 Trans kids are being persecuted by this administration, by the global conservatives who are oppressing them, forcing them into the closet, not allowing them to be their true selves.
00:06:39.040 This is the argument you hear all the time. 0.98
00:06:41.200 Remember that lunatic fake bishop lady who was scolding President Trump after his inauguration? 1.00
00:06:47.360 The bishopress said, trans kids are afraid, Mr. President. 0.99
00:06:51.460 So that's an empathy argument.
00:06:53.260 But likewise, you can make an empathy argument here.
00:06:55.120 Say, look, we've heard from medical doctors.
00:06:59.680 We've heard from judges.
00:07:01.220 We've heard from serious people.
00:07:02.780 This boy does not think he's the opposite sex.
00:07:05.860 He does not have gender dysphoria. 0.97
00:07:07.380 This boy is the victim of a lunatic mother who I guess wanted a daughter or something like that. 0.58
00:07:12.980 And so she's willing to ruin this boy's life, probably lead him to an early grave, statistically speaking, 0.97
00:07:17.940 just to chop the poor kid up and make him look like a little girl. 1.00
00:07:21.360 We need to protect this poor little boy from his lunatic mother. 1.00
00:07:25.300 And in this case, that did happen because the boy was given to the father.
00:07:29.540 The father now is sole custody.
00:07:30.620 But the political lesson for us, I think, is because the empathy arguments can cut both ways,
00:07:40.120 the reliable mechanism for adjudicating policy is to pick the policy that is in line with the truth.
00:07:49.040 What the left tells us is, yeah, look, even if a man can't really be a woman, even if this isn't true,
00:07:55.720 it's just if we just lie to everybody, fewer people will kill themselves, which isn't even true, by the way.
00:08:01.760 According to this social scientific data, the transing doesn't actually reduce suicide rates.
00:08:06.380 But that's their argument.
00:08:07.620 They say, look, even if it's not true, you have to let the man into the woman's bathroom out of empathy.
00:08:14.100 But you can make an empathy argument both ways.
00:08:15.960 When it comes to the bathrooms, you make an empathy argument for the women. 1.00
00:08:18.120 You say, well, the poor women, maybe some of them are victims of sexual crimes. 1.00
00:08:21.020 They don't want to have to share a bathroom with some husky dude. 0.98
00:08:23.200 So if the empathy argument cuts both ways, the only reliable guide is going to be the truth.
00:08:31.620 And I think this story is the first of many.
00:08:34.340 The judge in this case cited the Cass Review, the Cass Review that came out of the UK,
00:08:38.540 which showed that the gender-affirming surgeries, which are really gender-denying surgeries,
00:08:43.920 are just absolutely dreadful, not based on any scientific reality.
00:08:49.020 This is the first of many.
00:08:50.480 And I hope we hold on to that political lesson.
00:08:53.200 We like to have compassion.
00:08:55.760 We like empathy and sympathy and all of this.
00:08:58.940 But the truth comes first.
00:09:01.880 Now, speaking of kids and their parents, a less happy story.
00:09:06.340 A Wisconsin teenage boy, a 17-year-old boy, allegedly murdered his parents.
00:09:11.420 Try to follow this. 0.95
00:09:12.460 17-year-old boy, allegedly murdered his parents in order to gain an inheritance so that he could fund his own campaign to assassinate President Trump in order to save the white race. 0.81
00:09:29.280 Did you follow that?
00:09:32.460 It took me one or two times to really get all the details here.
00:09:35.280 According to the FBI, he was in pursuit of, quote, the financial means and autonomy to assassinate President Trump.
00:09:44.740 Court documents show that the 17-year-old kid was allegedly part of a satanic cult.
00:09:49.840 It had a strong anti-Judaism and anti-Christian and anti-Western ideology.
00:09:56.820 That's according to WISN.
00:09:58.880 The kid left a manifesto.
00:10:01.220 According to the manifesto, he wrote,
00:10:03.860 quote, as to why specifically Trump has to be assassinated, I think it's pretty obvious.
00:10:09.700 By getting rid of the president and perhaps the vice president, that is guaranteed to bring in some chaos.
00:10:17.860 And then when you read further in the reporting, the headline says he murdered his parents.
00:10:21.300 When you read further in, you see he murdered his mother and his stepfather.
00:10:24.680 So not his biological father.
00:10:26.800 And people are all going to try to point to a political motive here.
00:10:30.140 The fact that he was trying to murder Trump, you know, it's a pretty clear political motive. 0.98
00:10:35.260 But he also might just be a total nut kid. 0.98
00:10:37.720 And maybe he's got daddy issues. 0.90
00:10:38.860 Who knows?
00:10:40.060 In any case, really, really awful story.
00:10:41.780 Obviously, you should pray for the murdered parents and for everyone involved.
00:10:46.100 And for President Trump, who's survived a lot of assassination attempts.
00:10:49.220 The key to this story for me is that one word, autonomy.
00:10:55.560 You see that?
00:10:56.240 He wanted the financial means and autonomy, according to the FBI, to assassinate Trump, 0.79
00:11:01.660 save the, inaugurate a race war, and then save the white race thereby. 0.76
00:11:06.900 This is a reminder to me and I think hopefully to all conservatives. 0.93
00:11:12.800 Radicalism is bad.
00:11:14.900 All radicalism is bad.
00:11:17.080 Radicalism from the word radix, which means the root, to pull up by the root.
00:11:20.860 It's bad.
00:11:21.920 It just doesn't work out very well.
00:11:23.580 I'm not a radical.
00:11:25.680 I'm not a revolutionary.
00:11:26.700 I am a conservative.
00:11:28.540 I'm a traditionalist.
00:11:30.380 I'm a normal guy.
00:11:32.280 It's good to be all of those things.
00:11:34.160 I was at a beautiful mass, Palm Sunday mass yesterday.
00:11:37.380 It was the longest liturgy of the year in the Catholic Church.
00:11:39.720 And I was in New Orleans at this beautiful, beautiful church.
00:11:42.080 Oldest church in New Orleans.
00:11:44.460 And as I'm examining my conscience before I go into confession, I noticed something.
00:11:49.580 In the examination of conscience, where you're just going through, okay, did I violate the
00:11:52.260 first commandment, the second commandment, third, fourth commandment?
00:11:55.380 We have to respect our parents.
00:11:56.860 Because there is a question that comes up.
00:11:59.720 It's, have you had a disordered desire for autonomy?
00:12:05.600 And that question is so jarring in our modern age.
00:12:08.940 What do you mean?
00:12:09.580 Autonomy is great.
00:12:10.400 That's the greatest thing we could possibly have.
00:12:11.840 That's what all of liberalism tends toward.
00:12:13.860 What do you mean a disordered desire for autonomy?
00:12:16.120 Well, that could be a violation of the commandment to honor your father and mother.
00:12:20.080 Because we're not totally autonomous creatures.
00:12:22.160 We have responsibilities.
00:12:23.340 We're born into a family.
00:12:24.380 We're not born as individuals.
00:12:26.260 We're born into a family from our parents.
00:12:27.800 And we owe our parents something as a result.
00:12:29.400 And we owe our whole community something in an extended understanding of the family.
00:12:34.440 This kid obviously had a rather disordered desire for autonomy.
00:12:40.040 The autonomy from his parents and a political autonomy.
00:12:44.360 Which brought me back then, speaking of the Catholics, to Thomas Aquinas on revolution.
00:12:50.900 Not in the Summa Theologiae, but in De Regno, on kingship.
00:12:54.080 Book one, chapter seven.
00:12:56.000 Where Thomas takes on this question of whether or not we have a right to revolution.
00:13:02.020 This is very important for us Americans because America was founded in a revolution.
00:13:07.460 Do Christians actually see a right to revolution? 1.00
00:13:12.740 There's so much more to say.
00:13:13.680 First, though, go to stopboxusa.com.
00:13:15.980 Use promo code Knowles.
00:13:17.740 Current handgun storage options are like choosing between two flavors of terrible.
00:13:22.040 Either your weapon is locked up tight.
00:13:24.760 Well, it's great.
00:13:25.400 Totally safe and tight.
00:13:26.560 Locked away.
00:13:27.560 And totally useless in an actual emergency.
00:13:29.760 Or it's sitting around like an accident waiting to happen.
00:13:33.540 Enter Stopbox USA.
00:13:35.080 Which realized that choosing between safe but inaccessible and accessible but dangerous was a false dichotomy.
00:13:41.580 Their solution?
00:13:42.620 The Stopbox Pro.
00:13:43.380 I have had my Stopbox Pro for six months now.
00:13:46.920 Maybe more.
00:13:47.280 Maybe more like eight months now.
00:13:48.560 And it's phenomenal.
00:13:49.680 The thing I love about it is locks your gun up nice and tight.
00:13:52.600 But it's analog.
00:13:54.580 Okay?
00:13:54.920 It's old school.
00:13:56.120 It uses your fingers for a code.
00:13:57.980 Doesn't rely on faulty electronics.
00:14:00.020 You know, all those fancy electronic locks.
00:14:03.060 You're just waiting for them to die when you need them most.
00:14:05.780 This thing is 100% mechanical.
00:14:07.660 No batteries.

00:14:45.520 Do we have a right to revolution? 0.99
00:14:47.180 This 17-year-old lunatic kid wanted a revolution from a race war, from killing his parents, and from killing Trump to save the white race. 0.99
00:14:54.880 I don't know. 1.00
00:14:55.120 That's one particular kind of revolution.
00:14:56.720 But let's just zoom it out.
00:14:58.100 Do we have a right to revolution, period?
00:14:59.740 Here's what St. Thomas says.
00:15:00.940 Should private persons attempt on their own private presumption to kill the rulers, even though tyrants, assuming the rulers are tyrants already, this would be dangerous for the multitude as well as for their rulers.
00:15:13.540 This is because the wicked usually expose themselves to dangers of this kind more than the good.
00:15:17.920 For the rule of a king, no less than that of a tyrant, is burdensome to them since, according to the words of Solomon, a wise king scatters the wicked.
00:15:25.960 Consequently, by presumption of this kind, to kill the king, to kill the supposed tyrant, danger to the people from the loss of a good king would be more probable than relief through the removal of a tyrant.
00:15:38.660 Furthermore, he writes, it seems that to proceed against the cruelty of tyrants is an action to be undertaken, not through the private presumption of a few, but rather by public authority.
00:15:50.840 So what Thomas is saying here is, yeah, you hate the authority above you.
00:15:55.880 You hate your dad.
00:15:56.640 You hate your boss. 0.97
00:15:57.540 You hate the mayor.
00:15:59.080 You hate the president.
00:16:00.600 You hate, even if you like the president, but you hate the political order.
00:16:03.140 You want to get rid of the political order.
00:16:04.300 You want to start chaos.
00:16:05.540 And you want to have a revolution.
00:16:06.900 Well, actually, the good that you're going to lose is almost always going to outweigh the good that you could gain.
00:16:15.820 So it's going to be more bad than good, and you probably just shouldn't do it.
00:16:19.660 But if, in a certain case, you actually are justified in removing the king or the president or the ruler, the civil authority, that should not just come from a private action.
00:16:31.400 That has to come in an orderly way.
00:16:33.380 It has to come from public authority.
00:16:34.740 Which is why, actually, there is a conservative argument for the American Revolution.
00:16:41.000 Because it wasn't, there were some real scoundrels and private citizens and lunatics and terrorists who were involved in the American Revolution.
00:16:48.440 But, by and large, it was conducted by people that had been invested with public authority in a relatively orderly way.
00:16:56.680 That's the conservative argument for it.
00:16:58.600 It's not that we don't believe ever in changing the political regime or even in revolution. 0.91
00:17:04.920 But what the libs want to do is just get all of these complete lunatics people through their own private judgment on the streets to go murder the king. 0.97
00:17:12.280 To go murder Trump. 0.96
00:17:13.280 There was a survey that came out a week or two ago, 55% of Democrats, of leftists, think that it would be justified to assassinate President Trump. 0.96
00:17:23.760 That's bad.
00:17:24.640 All radicalism is bad.
00:17:25.960 I don't care if it pops up.
00:17:27.100 It's usually on the left.
00:17:28.020 But even on the supposed right, it's just bad.
00:17:30.660 And it's, I'm not just wagging my finger and scolding.
00:17:33.380 It's bad from, and you can deduce its badness from natural philosophy, from human nature, and certainly from religion.
00:17:41.520 Speaking of this radicalism and political violence, the Pennsylvania governor just had a decent chunk of his house burned to the ground because of an arsonist.
00:17:51.120 This is a suspected arson attack.
00:17:53.180 The attack was targeted, obviously, at the governor.
00:17:55.860 It's hard to accidentally burn down the governor's mansion. 0.98
00:17:58.940 You know, oh, darn, I meant to get the house next door. 0.98
00:18:00.800 It was conducted through homemade incendiary devices. 0.98
00:18:04.840 I'm somewhat familiar with this because Antifa leftist terrorists through an incendiary device at a speech when I was giving a speech at UPIT a couple years ago.
00:18:14.200 And now that the suspected arsonist, we don't really know his political motives for sure. 0.82
00:18:21.040 He might have just been a total lunatic.
00:18:22.600 He was due in court a couple days after this attack on the governor's mansion because of a 2023 assault charge. 1.00
00:18:28.300 So he just might be a lunatic criminal who wants to watch the world burn. 0.87
00:18:31.840 In any case, it was a serious attack. 0.98
00:18:33.900 And right afterward, what you saw was conservatives and Republicans coming out and condemning the violence.
00:18:40.780 J.D. Vance comes out.
00:18:41.700 He says, thanks be to God that Governor Shapiro and his family were unharmed in this attack.
00:18:47.220 Really disgusting violence.
00:18:48.460 And I hope whoever did it brought swiftly to justice.
00:18:51.300 Pam Bondi came out right away.
00:18:52.760 The attorney general said basically the same thing.
00:18:54.540 A lot, a lot of conservatives and Republicans.
00:18:56.120 So it's unclear why was the Pennsylvania governor, Josh Shapiro, targeted.
00:19:01.300 Is it because he was a Democrat and it was some Republican who targeted him?
00:19:06.140 I guess it could be.
00:19:07.280 Was it because he's a Jew? 0.74
00:19:09.140 That's probably the reason that Josh Shapiro was not picked by Kamala Harris to be her running mate, 0.76
00:19:12.900 because the base of the Democrat Party now hates the Jews and he was a Jew.
00:19:16.600 And even though Pennsylvania is an important must-win state, it was just that was too much for the Democrat base.
00:19:21.960 It could be.
00:19:23.220 I mean, I think the bombing occurred on Passover, so a very important holiday for the Jews.
00:19:27.180 It could be. 0.97
00:19:27.520 It could be because the arsonist is just crazy.
00:19:30.700 And sometimes people don't have a motive.
00:19:32.820 They're certainly not a rational one.
00:19:36.220 That we can't really know right now.
00:19:37.700 All we can know is how the Republicans are responding.
00:19:45.260 In this case, the Republicans are responding uniformly by saying this was terrible.
00:19:51.340 We condemn the violence.
00:19:52.200 I hope this lunatic is brought to justice. 0.96
00:19:53.640 Really, really terrible stuff. 0.96
00:19:55.180 What happened when President Trump was almost murdered?
00:20:00.620 He had some Democrats condemn it. 0.99
00:20:03.060 He had some Democrats say, darn, so close. 0.99
00:20:06.240 Ah, boy, darn. 0.98
00:20:07.500 And I'm not, I don't think I'm being unfair or attacking strong men here. 0.99
00:20:13.260 One week ago, a public opinion survey showed that the majority of Democrats think that murdering President Trump would be justified.
00:20:21.640 And it wasn't all that close.
00:20:23.140 55% of Democrats said it would be justified.
00:20:26.880 Around 50% said it would be justified to kill Elon Musk.
00:20:30.420 Okay?
00:20:31.060 That's my takeaway from this.
00:20:33.000 There will be some, I just gave a long speech on political violence at the University of Pittsburgh, which you can catch on my YouTube channel, I think, and on the YAF YouTube channel.
00:20:41.820 But my takeaway was not that there's never any political violence from the right.
00:20:46.560 There is sometimes on the extreme right.
00:20:48.940 It's usually on the left, but sometimes on the right. 0.86
00:20:51.640 And that the political violence actually comes from the ideology of the left and this maximizing of autonomy, the kind that you see in the manifesto of that 17-year-old lunatic who wanted to murder Trump. 0.53
00:21:03.760 But it does sometimes happen on the right.
00:21:07.440 And yet, you're never going to see a right-winger, a mainstream Republican, defending the Oklahoma City bombing.
00:21:12.780 You will, however, see mainstream left-wingers defend BLM, torching cities, murdering dozens of people.
00:21:22.140 You will find mainstream Democrats justifying the assassination of President Trump.
00:21:26.720 That's the big takeaway to me.
00:21:27.920 Now, speaking of the Jews, the Associated Press is reporting, pressed for evidence against Mahmoud Khalil, he's that former Columbia graduate student who was creating ruckus, engaging in a lot of pro-Palestine kind of public demonstration, harassing Jews or at least leading people who harass Jews.
00:21:51.700 The government cites its power to deport people for beliefs.
00:21:58.460 So, this is supposed to be a big scare headline.
00:22:01.140 Oh, wow.
00:22:02.240 You know, the government was asked why they're deporting this poor Mahmoud Khalil.
00:22:06.140 And the government says that it has the power to deport people for beliefs, which obviously it does. 1.00
00:22:12.100 Rubio doubled down on this.
00:22:15.080 He said, condoning anti-Semitic conduct and disruptive protests in the United States would severely undermine that significant foreign policy objective.
00:22:24.260 Now, you have even civil libertarians weighing in.
00:22:27.840 Bill Maher, you know, as pro-free speech supposedly as it could be, weighs in, is it okay to deport Mahmoud Khalil from America for opposing Israel, supporting Palestine, such as it is, for his protest?
00:22:48.900 Is that American?
00:22:50.940 I'm okay with that.
00:22:51.680 All right, what if I was a young student at Columbia, they're on a green card, British, come in, happy to be here, do all my paperwork, get to Columbia. 0.85
00:22:59.880 And I start leading a group which is a bunch of white supremacists, and we start terrorizing black students in the way that they're terrorizing Jewish students. 0.81
00:23:07.500 Well, hang on. 0.92
00:23:08.540 In that circumstance, would we all be as comfortable with this?
00:23:11.980 Or is it the reality which was exposed by the mobs at Columbia, which is that for some reason, Jews get treated differently to anybody else when it comes to this kind of thing?
00:23:23.180 Because if that had been, honestly, white supremacists treating black students like that, they would be out of the country in seven minutes.
00:23:29.860 I really should have said Piers Morgan weighs in, because all you get from Bill Maher is the correct. 0.89
00:23:34.180 But hear that.
00:23:34.960 You get the correct from Bill Maher, the pro-free speech guy, the civil libertarian.
00:23:39.520 He's agreeing with Piers Morgan here.
00:23:40.860 He says, no, correct, you're right.
00:23:43.260 If this were a white supremacist kid who was here on a foreign visa, he would have been deported in two seconds.
00:23:51.600 So why is the anti-Semitic guy or the anti-Israel guy, why is it a different standard for him to be deported?
00:24:00.480 And I think they're basically right.
00:24:03.680 I don't, there aren't that many people here on foreign visas who are white supremacists.
00:24:08.440 That's just generally not how it works.
00:24:10.080 But sure, I'm glad people are coming to grips with this.
00:24:15.060 We should be able to deport people over their beliefs if their beliefs are anti-American.
00:24:20.040 I'm not saying we deport citizens.
00:24:21.100 I'm saying we deport foreigners. 1.00
00:24:22.120 They have no particular right to be here.
00:24:23.800 And if they're not helping the country, and if their views are contrary to the commonly held views of the country, then boot them out.
00:24:30.520 If it really reaches a point of social disruption.
00:24:33.860 However, and Bill Maher's right, and Piers Morgan's right here too.
00:24:38.180 However, they're missing one thing.
00:24:39.180 We would never deport people.
00:24:44.720 We would never deport foreigners who are here on visas for attacking white people. 1.00
00:24:50.840 We would never deport foreigners who are here on visas for attacking Christians. 1.00
00:24:56.700 We wouldn't do it.
00:24:59.040 We are now maybe going to deport this guy because he doesn't like the Jews. 0.99
00:25:03.460 We certainly would deport someone if he didn't like black people or Hispanic people or he were a white supremacist. 0.97
00:25:10.840 But you know for a fact, I don't, please prove me wrong. 0.90
00:25:14.680 We would never deport anyone for leading protests against white people or Western civilization. 0.54
00:25:21.880 You know, that awful colonial white Western civilization. 1.00
00:25:25.000 We would never. 0.99
00:25:25.360 In fact, the students who are here on the foreign visas are here to study why white people are evil and why Western civilization is terrible and why Christianity is wrong and oppressive and terrible. 0.98
00:25:35.600 We would never. 0.84
00:25:36.080 We bring people into the country for that kind of activism.
00:25:38.920 So this is really just my request. 0.85
00:25:41.180 Deport Khalil because he doesn't like the Jews and he's pro-Hamas or whatever. 0.96
00:25:45.560 Fine. 0.98
00:25:45.940 Good.
00:25:46.120 I don't want that guy in my country.
00:25:47.500 What good does he bring to my country?
00:25:48.980 I don't want that guy here. 0.98
00:25:50.780 And yes, deport the skinhead, the mythical skinhead who comes here on a foreign visa. 0.99
00:25:56.860 Sure, deport him. 0.99
00:25:57.580 That's fine. 0.89
00:25:58.420 But when are we going to start deporting the people who are generating hatred against white people and against Christians? 0.98
00:26:07.300 Let's deport those people too. 0.99
00:26:08.780 There are plenty of, I'm not saying American citizens.
00:26:11.380 We'll get to that later.
00:26:12.640 I'm not saying they wouldn't deserve it.
00:26:14.660 But no, no, no.
00:26:15.080 We're not talking about deporting citizens.
00:26:16.600 We're talking about these foreigners who are coming here who have no right to be here. 1.00
00:26:20.120 When are you going to deport them?
00:26:21.160 Because until you also go after those people, it just feels like the enforcement of these standards and norms is totally unbalanced.
00:26:28.800 There's so much more to say.

00:27:42.040 Tecovis, point your toes west.
00:27:44.400 Speaking of the youths and religion, great news coming out of Britain.
00:27:47.680 Really kind of surprising news, too, at least to some people.
00:27:51.420 Young Brits are becoming Catholic. 0.99
00:27:54.440 Look, weren't there some wars fought in Britain over Catholicism?
00:28:01.800 Didn't the Catholics lose, actually?
00:28:04.540 Didn't a lot of people die because of this?
00:28:06.660 And Britain is probably the Protestant country par excellence because Henry VIII solidifies the Protestant Revolution.
00:28:15.540 How are they becoming Catholic?
00:28:18.040 This is according to a study from the Bible Society published this week.
00:28:23.740 Anglicans have been overtaken. 1.00
00:28:26.060 The Catholics now outnumber the Anglicans in England by more than two to one among Zoomers and young millennials.
00:28:34.940 This is according to reporting from the Telegraph this Easter.
00:28:37.740 Thousands of people are going to be received into the Catholic Church, and substantial numbers of them are under the age of 35.
00:28:42.740 So notice, the Catholics aren't exploding in—well, they used to explode because of, like, Guy Fawkes and stuff and, you know, the wars of religion.
00:28:49.660 But now I'm exploding in terms of numbers and enthusiasm.
00:28:52.980 They're not just growing in England because parents are sending their kids to Catholic school.
00:28:59.080 They're not just growing in England because Catholics tend to have a lot of children.
00:29:03.680 They're growing because of conversions, too.
00:29:05.680 A lot of people are going to be received into the Catholic Church this Easter, this coming Sunday.
00:29:13.000 Archbishop Marco Toole of Cardiff says,
00:29:15.960 When you meet them and hear their stories, they say they are looking for clarity and stability.
00:29:21.300 They are attracted to the Catholic Church's strong sense of identity and clarity around the teachings of Jesus.
00:29:28.240 I'm not surprised by this really at all, in part because I'm an American and I have read some of my Alexei de Tocqueville.
00:29:36.280 Tocqueville predicted for America, he says,
00:29:37.840 Even though America seems like it's a Protestant country, over time, the religion of America is unstable, 0.90
00:29:43.980 and it's going to tend toward either Catholicism or atheism.
00:29:48.640 And I think you're actually seeing that play out in America, too.
00:29:50.920 But you're seeing the same thing in Britain right now.
00:29:53.260 Any return in the West to religion is going to tend toward Catholicism. 0.88
00:30:03.240 I think that's in part, I being Catholic, think that's in part because Catholicism is true.
00:30:08.520 And I think that the faith will endure until the end of the age.
00:30:12.720 But even if you don't really believe yet or you have some faith but you're not Catholic or whatever,
00:30:18.480 one of the reasons you might agree with my assessment as well is because Catholicism has endured.
00:30:25.600 The Catholic Church, love it or hate it, has endured from antiquity.
00:30:29.920 It's the only institution in the West that has endured since antiquity.
00:30:34.100 And so for younger people who want clarity, who want stability, who are considering these eternal questions for the first time
00:30:41.720 after decades of imposed ignorance and glibness and shallowness,
00:30:48.980 they are probably going to tend toward the most enduring, stable, sturdy kinds of religion in the West.
00:30:56.720 And that really comes down to one, and that's Catholicism.
00:30:59.660 You know, this is really no knock on my Methodist friends, say,
00:31:05.440 but there will not be a civilization-wide Methodist revival.
00:31:10.760 And that is what's going to bring everyone.
00:31:12.180 It's just not going to happen, okay?
00:31:15.100 It's not to say that people won't return to some degree to the mainline Protestant churches
00:31:22.200 or to the evangelical Protestant churches or anything like that.
00:31:25.000 It's just to say, if you're really looking to return, all caps with a V instead of a U,
00:31:31.140 you know, return to tradition, return to our civilization,
00:31:34.780 you're likely going to see people tending toward the ancient, enduring church with the smells and the bells.
00:31:44.640 Because if one of the marks of modernity is disenchantment, you know, a kind of lowering of our expectations,
00:31:53.620 a lowering of our ideals, a lowering of our sense of ourselves,
00:31:57.680 and now we think we're just kind of meat puppets to feel pleasure until we turn to worm food and take a dirt nap,
00:32:03.100 rather than as real spirits and bodies, you know, together but with an eternal destiny,
00:32:08.120 then you're going to want a religion that still has enchantment, you know, smells and bells, for instance. 0.95
00:32:17.500 If the mark of modernity is private judgment, maximizing autonomy, as that lunatic kid who wanted to kill Trump said, 0.72
00:32:26.760 it's all about just the individual and his own base quotidian appetites,
00:32:32.780 and you're reacting against that, as I think many people are,
00:32:37.880 then you're going to tend toward the religion,
00:32:43.220 the sole religion in the West, that is not based on private judgment.
00:32:49.100 You know, even Anglicanism, which has a lot of liturgy and a fair bit of tradition to it and all the rest,
00:32:55.220 it's still grounded on private judgment.
00:32:58.160 At the very least, the private judgment of the King of England.
00:33:00.440 And the other varieties of religion that flow from that are more and more grounded on private judgment.
00:33:07.420 But what people are reacting against is the tyranny of subjectivism
00:33:11.100 that has come from the exaltation of private judgment and the idolatry of individual autonomy.
00:33:17.280 That's why this is happening.
00:33:18.480 And it's why it's happening even in the home of Anglicanism 0.98
00:33:21.380 and maybe one of the chief political fonts of Protestantism.
00:33:25.760 It doesn't seem to make sense on the surface.
00:33:29.780 But this has been brewing for a long, long time.
00:33:34.460 It's people reacting against what they see as this just kind of stew of uncertainty and individual caprice.
00:33:45.240 They want something that's sturdy and solid and they just want, sometimes you just want to be told the answer.
00:33:52.400 And you don't need to reinvent the wheel every single morning.
00:33:55.260 That's why I'm not surprised at all.
00:33:57.660 Having gone to some nice churches in the UK, not surprised at all.
00:34:01.100 The Anglicans got all the really, really nice old churches.
00:34:04.320 But who knows?
00:34:04.900 Maybe we'll all come back together.
00:34:05.880 And by the end, I think the whole church will come back together, won't we?

00:34:33.960 Do it right now.
00:34:34.520 Now, my favorite comment yesterday is from 4thman64, and this is actually really, this is providential
00:34:44.020 because it's about the English, right after I talk about the English.
00:34:47.240 Englishman here, thank you so much for your use of the word ruffians made my day. 1.00
00:34:52.440 I'm glad you liked that.
00:34:53.760 You know, I was speaking to a British friend of mine, an English friend of mine, the other day.
00:34:58.860 And he texted me, he says, at the end of the text, he says,
00:35:01.420 Michael, you know, as we say in England, inshallah.
00:35:06.160 And so, you're right, the English idioms are changing as a result of mass migration, among other things.
00:35:12.660 Speaking of the changing times, this one, this is going to be my most controversial take of many months.
00:35:20.760 But it's urgent now because there is a bipartisan group of senators with the backing of President Trump
00:35:27.320 who want to end Daylight Savings Time.
00:35:32.460 And I don't like this.
00:35:34.540 I am a big supporter of Daylight Savings Time.
00:35:38.020 And I'm not, I'm not just saying that to be contrarian or anything.
00:35:41.580 I really like Daylight Savings Time.
00:35:43.000 I really think it is a mistake to end Daylight Savings Time.
00:35:45.320 You know, when all the senators get together across both parties and they all agree on something,
00:35:51.700 you know that thing is going to be terrible.
00:35:54.080 And in this case, what they want to do is lock the clock.
00:35:57.520 And why?
00:35:59.320 Because every person who's never given one second's thought to Daylight Savings Time
00:36:03.740 and has just scrolled through Twitter and heard something,
00:36:07.000 they'll say, actually, Daylight Savings Time is really bad because people die every year.
00:36:11.080 Did you know that?
00:36:11.680 They actually, it increases deaths every year.
00:36:13.320 And you say, oh, really? How's that?
00:36:15.660 Because one, I saw a tweet about that one time and it increases deaths
00:36:18.780 because people have to wake up a little earlier or whatever.
00:36:21.220 So they say people have heart attacks or something.
00:36:22.760 So it's a, I would say, a negligible uptick in deaths.
00:36:26.440 I think a little bit of a statistically dubious observation.
00:36:32.140 But what that ignores is all the benefits that you get from Daylight Savings Time.
00:36:40.380 Well, I guess the question you have to ask yourself,
00:36:42.360 which really gets down to a difference between the left and the right here,
00:36:45.680 is why do we have Daylight Savings Time in the first place?
00:36:50.640 Before we go and tear down Chesterton's fence,
00:36:53.540 how about we ask, why is that fence up in the first place?
00:36:57.720 Most people will say, well, because of farming.
00:37:01.480 You know, it used to be when a lot of people were farmers
00:37:03.420 that having that extra daylight was really helpful.
00:37:05.100 But, you know, now most people don't really farm, so it's not a big deal.
00:37:08.940 Well, okay, what are the other benefits of Daylight Savings Time?
00:37:12.080 Daylight Savings Time extends daylight in the warmer months
00:37:15.720 when you want to be outside playing around and doing stuff.
00:37:19.440 You don't need that extra daylight in the winter months
00:37:21.480 when you don't want to be outside really much anyway.
00:37:22.940 According to the Department of Energy,
00:37:28.400 Daylight Savings Time reduces energy usage and energy costs.
00:37:33.020 Not by a ton, but by half a percent.
00:37:35.260 It's pretty good, you know,
00:37:36.160 and you consider all the energy of the United States,
00:37:37.760 it's pretty good.
00:37:39.120 There is evidence that Daylight Savings Time
00:37:41.580 not only kills people, like the Libs argue,
00:37:45.240 but actually reduces deaths, too,
00:37:47.660 because it reduces car crashes.
00:37:49.320 That's from a study back in 1995.
00:37:52.500 It also saves property.
00:37:54.180 It might save people's lives
00:37:55.080 because Daylight Savings Time reduces street crime
00:37:57.920 pretty significantly.
00:37:59.220 Robberies, for instance,
00:38:00.240 drop 27% during the sunset hours
00:38:03.540 during Daylight Savings Time.
00:38:05.320 That's according to a more recent study,
00:38:06.680 a study from 2015.
00:38:08.280 Daylight Savings Time increases economic activity.
00:38:12.300 Because you can go out,
00:38:13.140 you're more inclined to go shopping,
00:38:14.560 you're more inclined to work a little bit.
00:38:16.260 But it increases economic activity
00:38:19.040 both domestically and internationally
00:38:20.720 because other countries use Daylight Savings Time, too.
00:38:23.640 And then I want to get to my
00:38:24.980 most basic argument for Daylight Savings Time.
00:38:30.760 It's a tradition.
00:38:32.920 It's a kind of fun tradition.
00:38:35.340 It's a tradition that recognizes,
00:38:37.920 in a particularly pronounced way,
00:38:39.580 the changing of the seasons,
00:38:42.120 the movement of time,
00:38:43.940 the variety of life.
00:38:46.560 It's kind of like fun and kooky.
00:38:48.480 People will say,
00:38:49.100 well, we shouldn't have to
00:38:50.560 change our clocks twice a year.
00:38:52.700 What a hassle.
00:38:53.320 It's not efficient.
00:38:54.340 Life is about more than efficiency, my friends.
00:38:57.120 Our modern, clinical, robotic culture
00:39:00.940 just wants to maximize efficiency in everything.
00:39:03.580 I am a conservative.
00:39:04.680 I don't want to maximize efficiency in everything.
00:39:06.700 I like to enjoy fun, quirky little things.
00:39:10.760 I like, I enjoy our culture, okay?
00:39:13.780 And that's a fun little cultural habit.
00:39:15.740 It actually does produce economic
00:39:18.200 and health benefits as well.
00:39:20.540 But it's kind of,
00:39:22.500 and it kind of makes sense.
00:39:23.480 And we've forgotten
00:39:24.240 why we had Daylight Savings Time
00:39:25.740 in the first place.
00:39:26.660 And like so many levelers and radicals,
00:39:29.100 when we forget why a tradition exists,
00:39:31.220 we just want to get rid of it.
00:39:32.940 We don't ask ourselves,
00:39:34.160 why did that tradition arise in the first place?
00:39:36.000 Why have we maintained that tradition?
00:39:37.700 Have we ever tried to get rid of the tradition?
00:39:40.300 How has it worked out?
00:39:42.560 It just seems like there's a mass psychosis
00:39:46.700 that's going on
00:39:47.620 that convinces everyone
00:39:49.260 that we've been wrong for so many decades now.
00:39:52.360 So many, many years. 1.00
00:39:54.640 There's no, it was all just bogus and stupid. 1.00
00:39:56.480 We're going to, no. 1.00
00:39:57.880 I'm pro Daylight Savings Time.
00:39:59.280 You should be too.
00:40:01.440 Call your congressman.
00:40:02.920 It's probably not the top issue on your list.
00:40:04.940 But Sarah, I actually think
00:40:06.100 it speaks to broader issues
00:40:07.500 and a broader political outlook.
00:40:09.840 Now, speaking of Trump initiatives,
00:40:12.360 big news on the trade war front.
00:40:14.220 President Trump has just exempted Apple from tariffs.
00:40:16.920 This is huge, absolutely huge.
00:40:19.900 Liberation Day, Trump says,
00:40:21.360 we're going to have blanket tariffs
00:40:22.320 on the entire world,
00:40:23.260 including uninhabited islands.
00:40:24.820 And there's going to be a baseline of 10%,
00:40:26.460 and then it's going to go up on most countries,
00:40:28.640 and it's going to go really far up
00:40:29.760 on countries like China.
00:40:30.900 Then Trump pauses most of the tariffs
00:40:35.560 for most countries.
00:40:38.360 Then, everyone says,
00:40:39.880 all right, the trade war is really just about China.
00:40:41.500 But then Trump exempts one of the biggest products
00:40:44.160 that we get from China,
00:40:45.680 namely iPhones, smartphones.
00:40:48.180 Code 8517130000 of this tariff policy
00:40:53.660 adds smartphones to the list of exemptions
00:40:56.300 from the 125% China tariff
00:40:57.960 alongside other electronic devices and components,
00:41:01.440 semiconductors, solar cells, and memory cards.
00:41:05.120 Now, this means,
00:41:06.840 you know my thesis on the tariffs.
00:41:09.580 My thesis on the tariffs is,
00:41:11.620 anyone who says that he knows
00:41:13.780 what the tariffs are about
00:41:15.120 is totally deluded or lying to you.
00:41:19.580 I don't care if they're pro-tariff.
00:41:20.920 I don't care if they're anti-tariff.
00:41:22.040 I don't care if they love Trump.
00:41:22.940 I don't care if they hate Trump.
00:41:23.620 But anyone who says to you,
00:41:25.820 oh, I know, let me tell you
00:41:27.140 what the tariffs are really about,
00:41:28.560 is wrong.
00:41:30.920 And you shouldn't trust that person.
00:41:32.020 And they're saying it
00:41:32.640 because pundits just have to pretend
00:41:34.280 to be certain about everything.
00:41:35.540 And they can be frequently wrong,
00:41:36.840 but never in doubt.
00:41:37.500 But I am telling you the truth,
00:41:39.360 which is that not one person on this earth,
00:41:43.320 with the possible exception of President Trump,
00:41:46.460 knows what these tariffs are about.
00:41:49.120 Because, as you know,
00:41:50.080 President Trump,
00:41:50.620 one of his great political gifts
00:41:51.600 is unpredictability.
00:41:53.100 Top cabinet officials
00:41:54.320 do not know what these tariffs are about.
00:41:56.200 And if you pretend to, 1.00
00:41:57.460 you're going to look like a fool. 1.00
00:41:59.520 Because the minute you say, 1.00
00:42:00.240 okay, the tariffs aren't really about the whole,
00:42:01.840 for a while they're saying,
00:42:02.500 it's all about the whole world
00:42:03.300 and we're going to totally rewrite
00:42:04.060 the trade regime
00:42:04.660 and this is reorienting the economy.
00:42:06.400 And then when Trump pauses
00:42:07.640 the tariffs on the whole world,
00:42:08.520 they say, well, no,
00:42:09.020 it actually wasn't about that.
00:42:09.880 Forget about that.
00:42:10.520 We were just bluffing.
00:42:11.420 It's about China.
00:42:12.340 It's all about China. 0.98
00:42:13.000 But okay, if you exempt China, 0.61
00:42:15.620 if you exempt the most important product
00:42:17.740 that we get from China,
00:42:18.500 from the tariffs,
00:42:19.660 then what,
00:42:19.980 are you really even
00:42:20.960 levying a serious tariff on China?
00:42:23.640 What is it?
00:42:25.380 I'm not trying to read
00:42:26.340 President Trump's mind.
00:42:27.200 Good luck.
00:42:27.980 Good luck with that.
00:42:29.100 He's the most impressive politician
00:42:30.240 of our lifetimes.
00:42:30.940 You're not going to read his mind.
00:42:33.360 What this shows you,
00:42:34.640 what we can deduce
00:42:35.680 from the tariffs
00:42:36.460 and from this exemption,
00:42:38.040 is just how reliant
00:42:40.400 we are on China.
00:42:41.100 Trump has to exempt the iPhone
00:42:42.640 because we would be nationally crippled
00:42:45.680 if we tariffed the smartphones
00:42:47.620 coming out of China.
00:42:48.500 We are just too reliant on China, 1.00
00:42:50.760 not only for cheap plastic tchotchkes,
00:42:53.660 not only for cheap t-shirts
00:42:55.600 or whatever,
00:42:56.640 but for the devices
00:42:58.480 that are probably
00:42:59.760 the most important technical tool
00:43:02.160 we use in our lives,
00:43:03.320 every single American.
00:43:06.960 The pauses,
00:43:08.180 the holdups,
00:43:09.140 the hiccups
00:43:09.680 on the tariffs
00:43:10.540 and the trade war,
00:43:11.220 the threats to the bond market even
00:43:13.720 that expose a major U.S. vulnerability
00:43:15.640 in the trade war
00:43:16.640 that President Trump acknowledged.
00:43:17.940 He said,
00:43:18.180 all right,
00:43:18.320 I'm pausing it in part
00:43:20.100 because people were getting queasy
00:43:21.600 about the bond market.
00:43:22.780 China owns a trillion dollars
00:43:24.220 in U.S. Treasury securities.
00:43:25.580 What all of this is showing me
00:43:26.800 is a really important political lesson,
00:43:28.720 which is we are simply
00:43:30.240 too dependent on China.
00:43:31.880 So whether you love tariffs
00:43:32.780 or hate tariffs
00:43:33.280 or love Trump
00:43:33.800 or hate Trump,
00:43:34.240 whatever,
00:43:34.920 any reasonable person
00:43:35.940 has to conclude
00:43:36.480 we must change
00:43:37.560 our trade practices with China
00:43:38.820 and our investment practices
00:43:40.500 with China
00:43:40.980 because
00:43:42.020 China
00:43:43.600 can poke
00:43:45.600 so many pressure points
00:43:47.040 on the United States
00:43:48.000 that
00:43:49.020 no matter what policy
00:43:51.700 we want to pursue,
00:43:52.420 we are going to be backed
00:43:53.120 into a corner.
00:43:54.000 We have to decouple.
00:43:56.460 Now,
00:43:56.720 speaking of our cell phones,
00:43:58.060 speaking of doom scrolling
00:43:58.820 on our cell phones
00:43:59.500 and just general isolation,
00:44:02.040 my friend Sour Patch Lids,
00:44:03.960 do you know Sour Patch Lids
00:44:04.640 from,
00:44:04.920 it used to be on Tim Pool's show
00:44:06.780 and now she's,
00:44:07.660 you probably know her from Twitter.
00:44:08.980 She made a really,
00:44:11.000 really great point
00:44:11.820 about men
00:44:12.900 and men's spaces
00:44:14.860 and men's alienation
00:44:16.300 and isolation,
00:44:16.760 but we don't have time
00:44:17.360 to get to it.
00:44:18.300 I really do want to get to it.
00:44:19.960 So,
00:44:20.900 we're going to get to it tomorrow.
00:44:21.800 How do you like that tease?
00:44:22.440 Because today is Music Monday.
