The government is shut down, and there's no sign of an end in sight. Is it because Democrats want to give health care to illegal aliens? Or is it because they don't want to let Americans die in the streets?

Democrats have officially shut down the government. Why? Republicans are arguing
00:00:05.460
that the Dems shut down the government to give health care to illegal aliens.
00:00:10.380
Democrats are responding that they only shut down the government to give health care to legal
00:00:15.260
immigrants as well as other Americans. In reality, the shutdown has almost nothing to do with health
00:00:21.460
care, and it has everything to do with Democrats. Historically bad poll numbers right now. We'll get
00:00:28.360
into the minutiae. I'm Michael Knowles. This is The Michael Knowles Show.

00:02:32.760
Why is the government shut down? Is it because, as the Republicans contend, Democrats want to give
00:02:40.640
health care to illegal aliens? Democrats do, I'm sure, want to give health care to illegal aliens,
00:02:44.820
but I don't think that's quite what's going on. Is it because, as the Democrats contend,
00:02:51.580
they just want to give health care to all Americans and those Republicans want to let
00:02:57.400
Americans die in the streets? No, I don't think it's that either. I think this is all about poll numbers,
00:03:03.800
and I think this is about every other issue beyond health care. What could have happened?
00:03:10.360
There was a midnight deadline. We just passed it. We're now, whatever, eight, nine hours past it.
00:03:16.000
And the midnight deadline was to fund the government. What the Republicans tried to do
00:03:22.920
was pass a continuing resolution that would just fund the government at its current spending levels.
00:03:28.480
Nothing changes. Nothing. They're not, Republicans aren't trying to sneak anything in. It's just,
00:03:32.740
they're going to just keep it going while they negotiate a broader budget. Democrats said no.
00:03:40.980
They said no. We're not going to keep the government going at current spending levels.
00:03:45.420
Nothing changes. It's all normal. We're not going to do that. We are going to shut down the government.
00:03:50.260
We're going to shut down so-called non-essential services. It does raise some question as to why
00:03:55.040
we have so many non-essential services in our government. That's a point for another time.
00:03:59.420
The Democrats say, we will only fund the government if you Republicans who control the White House
00:04:06.540
and the House of Representatives and the Senate and the Supreme Court, I guess,
00:04:12.220
and who have unified government, if you guys give us a bunch of extra subsidies for Obamacare.
00:04:18.260
Obamacare. What? Why? What's that about? What this is about is Democrats right now losing on every
00:04:30.220
single issue, almost every single issue other than healthcare. Also the environment, women's rights.
00:04:37.660
But if you look, we covered this on the show just a few days ago. Right now, and we're what,
00:04:43.700
nine months into President Trump's second term. Right now, the Democrats should be winning on a
00:04:52.020
lot of issues. That's just what happens. The midterm elections happen after a presidential election,
00:04:57.680
and the party that's out of the White House usually does really, really well. And the problem for the
00:05:01.800
Democrats right now is they're actually somehow still underwater on all the issues that matter to
00:05:06.720
people on crime, on the economy, on immigration, on foreign policy. They're tied on defensive
00:05:14.780
democracy, which is a kind of made up issue. It's a real sloganeered kind of issue that is supposed to
00:05:22.500
just buoy the Democrats. Even that, the Democrats and Republicans are statistically tied on. The only
00:05:27.760
issues that the Democrats are still doing all right on are women's rights, the environment, whatever,
00:05:34.820
end healthcare. Healthcare is one that the Democrats historically can lean on, and so they're doubling
00:05:39.680
down on that. And they're going to shut down the government in order to change healthcare,
00:05:46.440
or at least change the conversation now to focus on healthcare. Now, part of the reason the Democrats
00:05:51.920
feel like they can do that is Republicans always get blamed for a government shutdown. Maybe that will
00:05:56.340
happen again, Republicans. That's the conventional wisdom, is the Republicans always get blamed for the
00:06:00.160
shutdown. I'm not so sure it's going to work this time. You have to remember,
00:06:04.200
we've just endured a seismic political shift. The coalitions have changed. A lot of voters that
00:06:09.360
have historically gone to the Dems have moved significantly to the right, including black men,
00:06:14.380
including women of all kinds, including young women, especially young voters, moved 10 points in
00:06:19.380
2024. The GOP has flipped the script on a lot of issues, on things like tariffs, on things like
00:06:25.540
immigration to some degree, on things like foreign wars. So I'm not sure that the conventional holds,
00:06:30.240
conventional wisdom holds, rather. I'm not sure that past really is precedent here.
00:06:35.080
And on top of that, the voters gave Republicans a unified government. So it does not stand to reason
00:06:40.460
that the party that controls the entire government would shut down the government.
00:06:46.380
Also because, I think what the Democrats are counting on is the heavy libertarian influence
00:06:53.440
in the Republican Party for the entirety of my lifetime, for many decades at this point,
00:06:59.480
which suggests that Republicans are thrilled to shut the government down. The Republicans are
00:07:04.760
borderline anarchists. They don't want any government at all. They want to privatize everything.
00:07:09.140
Once again, though, after the Trump revolution in 2016, that's not really the case. That's not,
00:07:14.900
there are plenty of Republicans and conservatives who do want to wield the government. In fact,
00:07:19.700
it's a discordant line of argument for the Democrats because the Democrats have spent the last seven
00:07:24.160
months claiming that Trump is a fascist dictator who wants to turn the government on all of his
00:07:29.100
enemies, that he's an authoritarian, that he's using the government too much. So again, you can't
00:07:33.880
simultaneously make both of those arguments. These Republicans hate the government. They want to
00:07:37.540
dismantle the government. Also, they want to build up the government and use it to pummel their
00:07:41.400
enemies. You have to pick one if you want to make sense. But the one thing the Democrats do have to do,
00:07:48.400
is change the conversation. Because at this point in Trump's first term, the Democrats should be doing
00:07:53.560
really well in their poll numbers, and they're not. In fact, their unfavorability rating is as high as
00:08:00.420
it's ever been, which is really, really bad news. They have to do something. And I think this
00:08:06.600
government shutdown comes out of sheer political desperation for Democrats. Shoot, the economy was
00:08:12.960
supposed to collapse. The tariffs were supposed to destroy the economy. The tariffs were supposed to
00:08:17.580
lead to massive inflation. The tariffs, and none of that happened. Even Jerome Powell, who's being
00:08:22.580
rhetorically pummeled by Trump every single day. Even Jerome Powell, chairman of the Fed, said,
00:08:26.360
no, actually inflation has not come about because of the tariffs. Well, the immigration crackdown,
00:08:32.220
that was supposed to work for Democrats. No, actually, the Republican immigration policies
00:08:35.900
are still very popular. Very popular. Well, Trump was supposed to get us into World War III.
00:08:41.900
Actually, he hasn't. Well, well, well. So Democrats have these really high unfavorables. They have to
00:08:48.420
change the conversation away from crime in the cities. Every second we're talking about crime in
00:08:54.400
the cities, it's bad for Democrats because the Democrats are the ones letting their own constituents
00:08:59.200
be murdered by criminals and taking the side of the criminals when they do it. Every second that we spend
00:09:04.720
talking, even about the economy, which does have some underlying issues, of course, even that,
00:09:09.620
it's not working for the Democrats. Every second we're talking about really just about any issue.
00:09:15.760
The only issue that might be able to move the needle for them is health care.
00:09:21.540
And the only way that they can distract from the conversations that are going on,
00:09:26.040
probably first and foremost, the political violence from the left, which has not had success
00:09:31.500
persuading voters in recent years, and so has increasingly threatened its opponents,
00:09:37.280
and actually celebrated even the murder of one of its most prominent opponents.
00:09:42.020
All of that stuff redounds to the detriment of the Democrats.
00:09:49.200
Hakeem Jeffries there in the House, Chuck Schumer in the Senate, even though these guys have spent
00:09:53.980
many, many years invading against government shutdowns, which they always blame on the Republicans,
00:09:59.700
now they are advocating for a government shutdown. But they're doing it because they have no other
00:10:03.920
option. They have to do something to change a conversation, and they have to do anything they
00:10:07.920
can to make the conversation about health care. Whether or not that will work remains to be seen
00:10:12.860
because there's a brutal poll just came out from New York Times and Siena. We'll get to that in one
00:10:17.000
moment. First, I want to tell you about PolicyGenius. Go to policygenius.com slash Knowles.
00:10:22.980
Rising costs have left many Americans overestimating expenses across the board. While people often assume
00:10:28.000
certain products and services cost far more than they actually do, this tendency is particularly
00:10:33.460
evident with life insurance, where 72% of Americans overestimate the actual cost of coverage.

00:11:26.640
much you could save. PolicyGenius.com slash Knowles. New York Times-Siena poll, September 22nd through
00:11:33.100
27th, so quite recent. Views on whether the Democrats should or should not shut down the government if
00:11:39.600
their demands are not met. So right there off the top, I know what Democrats are going to say.
00:11:44.880
They're going to say, that's a push poll. That's a loaded question. Why are you blaming the shutdown on
00:11:51.100
the Democrats? And the answer is because the Democrats are obviously the ones doing it.
00:11:57.280
The Republicans control the government. They very much do not want to shut down the government. The
00:12:01.660
only party advocating to shut down the government is the Democrats. Even the New York Times is
00:12:06.400
admitting it. So don't go after the New York Times if you're on the left. Trust me, if the New York
00:12:12.200
Times could spin this in a way that would blame Republicans, I'm sure they would. They just can't.
00:12:16.040
It's not possible. So if the Times isn't going to succeed at it, I don't think you,
00:12:21.660
random Democrat congressmen, are going to succeed at it either. What does the poll say? All respondents,
00:12:27.840
only 27% say that the Dems should shut down the government. 65% say they should not. Only one in
00:12:34.340
four voters, just about, says the Dems should shut down the government. 65% no. Among Democrats,
00:12:43.160
only 47% say that they should shut down the government. So this government shutdown is
00:12:49.700
unpopular. Less than 50% support. Even among Democrats. Among independents, only 32% think
00:12:59.980
support the Democrat shutdown. Among Republicans, unsurprisingly, 5%. So first of all, those poll
00:13:08.780
numbers alone show you who is shutting down the government. No group, no group wants to shut down
00:13:16.520
the government. There is no majority of any political group in the country that wants to shut down the
00:13:21.800
government. But in as much as the different groups support or don't support it, the support
00:13:29.000
is only among Democrats. Basically, no Republicans support this. So in my mind, if the media do not
00:13:39.400
have their hegemonic power that they once did, if the spin machine for the Democrats is not firing
00:13:47.680
on all cylinders, I don't know that this is going to be blamed on Republicans. If even the New York
00:13:53.820
Times today cannot blame this on the Republicans, this seriously could backfire for the Democrats.
00:14:01.480
And meanwhile, Trump is willing to take advantage. He says, look, I don't want to shut this thing down.
00:14:06.920
Things are going pretty well. But if you're going to shut it down and you're going to make us get rid
00:14:11.200
of these federal workers, then we're not going to play your game and merely furlough a lot of the
00:14:15.660
federal workers and then, you know, give them their jobs back with back pay and extra pay.
00:14:20.220
No, if you really want to shut this thing down, fine, then we're going to use this opportunity
00:14:25.280
that you're foisting upon us in order to continue to streamline government, which is one of the
00:14:29.940
things we were elected with back in November. In fact, this is one of the things we won the popular
00:14:36.460
vote on, namely bringing efficiency back to government, Doge. This could really backfire.
00:14:42.080
This could really, really backfire for the Dems. And even still, it shows you the desperation of
00:14:48.480
their position. Even still, if I were Hakeem Jeffries, I might shut down the government anyway.
00:14:54.280
Not because I think that's likely to help the Democrats. It's just that everything else seems
00:15:00.680
worse. If the Democrats continue on their current trajectory, they're going to get blown out in the
00:15:04.980
midterms and maybe in 2028. So in some ways, it's the least bad option for Dems. But I see a lot of
00:15:12.340
upside here for the Republicans. I don't see a lot of upside for Democrats. Meanwhile, the essential
00:15:18.220
services are moving ahead. And this is the real threat for Dems. So they're going to stand around
00:15:22.820
and they're going to whine about how they want to, they're going to hold the government hostage in
00:15:26.800
order to ram through a bunch of plausibly popular healthcare proposals. But some of them are pretty
00:15:34.120
unpopular and the ones that pertain to immigration are really unpopular. But at least we're not
00:15:40.200
talking about ICE, right? Well, not really, because the Department of Homeland Security is an essential
00:15:44.060
service. Law enforcement is an essential service. So while the Democrats are putting on this sideshow,
00:15:50.480
Trump is going in and enforcing the law in a popular way. Like a federal raid just happened in
00:15:55.660
Chicago. 300 ICE agents rappelling down from helicopters, targeting a building full of illegals. And
00:16:02.360
we're not just talking about the gardener. We're not just talking about the nice abuela who cleans your
00:16:07.340
home or something. We're talking about Trende Aragua terrorists.
00:16:14.580
It led 300 federal officials to that apartment complex. Some even rappelled down from Blackhawks
00:16:21.800
onto the rooftop in order to help secure that perimeter. Now, they were searching for suspected
00:16:26.760
members of the violent Venezuelan gang, Trende Aragua. Of course, TDA has been designated as
00:16:32.380
a terrorist organization under the Trump administration. Now, it was the biggest show
00:16:36.500
of force that we've ever seen on the ground here. We had agencies, FBI, Border Patrol, ICE, and ATF
00:16:42.720
all involved here. And they were all looking for targets in that same exact building. It was a five
00:16:47.600
story building. It was a tall task for them. And anything could have gone wrong. But luckily,
00:16:52.280
the operations went pretty smoothly. Preliminary reports show that about 30 illegal immigrants were
00:16:58.440
arrested in this operation. Some of them suspected Trende Aragua.
00:17:02.720
Okay, so 30 illegals arrested. Massive show of force here. 10x the number of people arrested show up
00:17:10.300
as law enforcement. Really, really smart. Smart as a matter of justice. You need to arrest these people.
00:17:18.580
But also really smart politics. And bold, by the way, because you're talking about serious gangsters.
00:17:25.500
You're talking about a foreign terrorist organization, Trende Aragua. This could have turned into a
00:17:30.580
shootout in Chicago. I guess a shootout in Chicago is, you know, just a day ending and why. But had this
00:17:36.900
gone south, had some innocent or largely innocent person been killed, had a law enforcement official
00:17:43.460
been killed. That could have been really bad. That did not happen. And ICE rounds up these people.
00:17:52.980
And so the Democrats are in this awful position. They either need to do what is obviously right,
00:17:58.460
and what is obviously politically popular, and say, okay, all right, I guess it's good that we're
00:18:04.180
arresting Trende Aragua gangsters, human traffickers, people who kill Americans, a foreign terrorist
00:18:11.320
organization. Yeah, I guess that's good. They can either take that side, or, I know it sounds
00:18:17.500
preposterous, or they can take the side of the terrorists, the foreign national terrorists
00:18:23.940
killing Americans. And you know which side they took? Here we have governor of Illinois, J.B. Pritzker,
00:18:32.340
thinks he's going to run for president in 2028. Democrat, Mr. Pritzker says on Twitter, to Donald
00:18:38.440
Trump, stop using military troops and ICE to invade and disrupt American cities. First of all,
00:18:49.360
federal troops don't invade American cities to carry out federal law. The federal government that the
00:18:55.840
federal troops refer to is the American government. You're part of America, Mr. Pritzker. Maybe you don't
00:19:01.620
feel that way. Maybe you don't like America. Maybe you wish you weren't part of America. I don't see
00:19:05.820
a lot of American flags at the Democrat rallies, so I know you have an antipathy to the country.
00:19:12.540
But they're your troops. They're your countrymen. You say, thank you. Thank you,
00:19:19.640
American servicemen, for protecting American citizens by carrying out basic American laws. No,
00:19:25.040
stop using military troops to invade and disrupt American cities. Stop sending in the Americans
00:19:32.560
to fix my bad governance. Stop, he says, calling your political opponents enemies of the United
00:19:39.860
States. Excuse me, that's a real pot calling the kettle black, isn't it? By the way, where's the
00:19:44.820
political violence coming from? It's coming uniquely from the left, according to the left-wing
00:19:49.220
magazines. So if you want to insinuate here that Trump is treating his domestic opponents as enemies,
00:19:55.920
that's not coming from the right. That's coming from the left. You're murdering your political
00:20:00.500
enemies, you on the left. We're not doing that. You Democrats, you people who identify as very liberal
00:20:06.620
are, according to polling, eight times as likely to defend political violence against your opponents.
00:20:11.180
The young Democrats, the young liberals, 30 percent of them support political violence against their
00:20:19.380
enemies. Many, many multiples over what conservatives and moderates say. Stop calling, are you kidding me?
00:20:27.080
You're the ones doing it. Stop attacking the First Amendment. Wow, that's it. You know, I wrote a whole book
00:20:32.000
on the First Amendment called Speechless, Controlling Words, Controlling Minds. Thank you very much.
00:20:35.880
Number one national bestseller. You can get it wherever great books are sold. I did a real deep
00:20:41.080
dive into the First Amendment and the broader free speech tradition in America and in the West.
00:20:47.860
I don't recall the provision of the First Amendment that says that foreign gangster murderers
00:20:56.400
have a right to live in American apartment buildings. Do you remember that part of the
00:21:00.200
First Amendment? If someone can pull up the text of the First Amendment, please do let me know. I know
00:21:07.100
it protects freedom of speech, of religion, the right to redress grievances is in there somewhere.
00:21:14.160
I don't recall the right of Venezuelan murderers to invade American cities and murder Americans. I
00:21:23.340
don't recall that one. Our troops, says Governor Pritzker, and our nation deserve better than you
00:21:29.660
acting as a petty tyrant. Who's the petty tyrant here? What's a tyrant? A tyrant is a leader,
00:21:37.140
a single leader, who wields power for private interest. Not for the common good, but for private
00:21:43.680
interest. What is Donald Trump doing? Donald Trump is merely enforcing the most basic laws.
00:21:52.640
That's what he's doing. That is the first charge of a U.S. president.
00:22:01.780
Of all the things we elect the president to do, hold state dinners, give addresses,
00:22:06.840
of all the things we elect them to do, enforcing the most basic federal laws is pretty much the
00:22:14.600
first one. Trump is acting like a president. On the contrary, these Democrat leaders, especially
00:22:21.220
including J.B. Pritzker, they're the ones acting like tyrants because what they're doing is they're
00:22:25.660
ignoring the law. They're neglecting the common good. They're undermining the common good. What
00:22:29.740
is the law? The law is an ordinance of reason for the common good by him who has care of the
00:22:33.320
community and promulgated. These guys are ignoring that. They're letting crime fester.
00:22:39.500
Chicago is like a war zone. J.B. Pritzker doesn't care. He's willing to let Chicago be
00:22:45.480
murdered and slaughtered by the bushel basket as long as he thinks it will give him an electoral
00:22:53.900
advantage. And the chief way that the Democrats have tried to gain an electoral advantage is by
00:22:58.060
flooding the country with illegals, largely including these criminals and these gangsters.
00:23:03.760
Who's acting like the tyrant? It's the Democrats. This is a terrible response by Pritzker and by the
00:23:12.420
Democrats broadly. But once again, I don't think we can leave the analysis at, wow, these dumb
00:23:18.860
Democrats, boy, they should get their act together, right? Because it's actually, they're in a tougher
00:23:23.000
spot than that. You have to have almost a little more sympathy for them. What are they going to do?
00:23:29.380
Are they suddenly going to come out in defense of enforcing immigration law, in defense of national
00:23:34.580
sovereignty, in defense of borders, in defense of the right of citizens to determine who gets to come
00:23:38.960
to their country? No, if they do that, they're conceding the whole point to Trump. And they're
00:23:45.600
going to lose the electoral advantage that they were cynically trying to gain by flooding the country
00:23:48.780
with foreigners. Are they suddenly going to defend law enforcement? Then they're ceding the point to
00:23:54.200
Trump. They're in a tough spot. Trump has staked out virtually all of the popular positions on issues
00:24:02.740
with a few exceptions, right? The health care is the Hail Mary for the Democrats. But with a few
00:24:08.760
exceptions, Trump has all the popular views. That's how he won the popular vote. Democrats,
00:24:15.220
on the other hand, they're on the wrong side of virtually every single issue.
00:24:19.900
And so long as that dynamic continues, so long as the Democrats remain Democrats,
00:24:24.740
then Trump is going to enforce the law. He's going to look like a hero. Pritzker is going to look
00:24:29.880
feckless at best and nefarious at worst. Now, you don't just need to take my word for it.
00:24:37.940
Trump's popular and effective immigration policy is being lauded not only by Republicans,
00:24:44.860
but by CNN, one of his big political rivals in the media, and even by the foreign gangsters.
00:24:53.220
We'll get to that momentarily. First, though, I want to tell you about Chevron.
00:24:57.500
America is built on hard work and powered by American energy. Chevron has spent $44 billion
00:25:04.340
with local businesses across all 50 states since 2022, fueling infrastructure and communities,
00:25:10.600
all while strengthening local economies. Last year, Chevron increased U.S. production nearly 20%,
00:25:16.420
powering communities and businesses from the heartlands to the coast. We're helping to fuel
00:25:20.920
America's energy advantage, building a brighter future right here at home.

00:25:28.980
CNN runs a quick little interview here with a cartel leader, Sinaloa cartel,
00:25:35.620
talking about the dangers of being involved in the cartel, what that looks like. And CNN asks this
00:25:42.320
cartel leader, hey, is Trump's policy making your life tougher? Because the ideal answer for the
00:25:48.840
Democrats is, no, Trump's policy is ineffective, and we're still doing whatever we want. And Trump's
00:25:55.940
a bumbling idiot, and he's distracting, and he's going after lawful, legal Americans, blah, blah, blah.
00:26:00.820
That's the right answer for the Dems. Here's the answer they get.
00:26:05.620
Do you think what President Trump has been doing has been making your job tougher?
00:26:18.740
I got to give the devil his due. The devil's their due, the Sinaloa cartel members and CNN.
00:26:25.200
The cartel members, they didn't study abstract leftist political theory in college. The Sinaloa,
00:26:32.440
the gangsters, they, I don't know, they don't have the most ideological view of politics. They're
00:26:38.880
pretty tough, practical people. Trump is a pretty tough, practical person. So CNN says,
00:26:43.740
is what Trump's doing making your life harder? And the Sinaloa guy says, yeah, for sure. He's
00:26:48.780
blowing us up. Yeah, I think he's rounding us up. He's deporting us to mega super prisons in El
00:26:56.740
Salvador, where Bukele is dealing with us in a reasonable way. Not one of these mamby-pamby
00:27:04.460
kind of ways. And then when we try to run our poison up to the American shores, Trump blows us
00:27:09.300
out of the water with drones. So yeah, I would say he's making our job a little bit tougher.
00:27:16.680
I can't quite figure out why CNN would air this. I get why they asked the question,
00:27:23.180
why would they air this? Unless it's that the Democratic Party has become so ideologically
00:27:32.860
perverted that they have sympathy for the cartel members. I mean, they do. The Democrats have
00:27:40.840
openly run on letting criminals off the hook. The Democrats have openly run on suppressing law
00:27:48.960
enforcement or even abolishing law enforcement, abolishing prisons. So the Democrats openly run
00:27:54.180
on that stuff. Maybe, I don't know, maybe CNN thinks that everyone's going to have their heartbreak for
00:28:00.740
the poor Sinaloa cartel members. Will somebody please think of the cartel members? Maybe that's
00:28:07.080
what they're thinking. But it just reads horribly to the right, which is a lot of the country,
00:28:13.800
and certainly to the middle. If the Democrats are on the side of the Sinaloa cartel, I think most
00:28:20.700
people are going to be on the opposite side from the Democrats. Now, the Times had a smarter way
00:28:27.180
to go after Trump's immigration policy, which is one of the most popular things he's doing.
00:28:34.020
So this is how the Times covered it just on the Feast of St. Michael just a couple days ago.
00:28:38.460
Headline, I'm from here. U.S. citizens are ending up in Trump's dragnet. As immigration
00:28:46.800
agents take a more aggressive approach, they have stopped and in some cases detained American
00:28:50.760
citizens. There are four Times writers on this piece. Sorry, three. Three ladies. Jasmine Ulloa,
00:28:57.940
Allison McCann, and Jennifer Medina. Three ladies very upset about the Trump immigration policy
00:29:04.900
because, you see, the immigration raids, which the Democrats oppose in general,
00:29:11.420
even when it targets MS-13 and Trendy, Aragua. They said, oh, those poor guys. Let the Sinaloa
00:29:15.780
cartel off the hook. But they say it's supposed to target only illegals. But did you know some
00:29:21.980
American citizens are getting trapped and caught up in it? Yeah. What did you think was going to happen?
00:29:30.480
Just think about this for two seconds. What did you think was going to happen? How do you think
00:29:35.940
immigration raids work? Do you think that the illegals are walking around the country
00:29:43.540
wearing big t-shirts that say, I'm an illegal. Come get me, Tom Homan. Is that what you think?
00:29:48.900
And then all ICE has to do is go in and say, oh, there he is. I see that shirt right there. It says,
00:29:54.120
yo soy illegal. Come and get me, Toma. No. The whole problem is these people are hiding in the
00:30:04.200
country. They were invited in by Democrats, quite explicitly invited in by Democrats.
00:30:11.220
Democrats even went so far as to violate their own interpretation of the Constitution
00:30:16.260
to give these people amnesty, to let them further blend into the country. That's what Barack Obama did.
00:30:21.700
That was executive amnesty, which he'd previously said was unconstitutional. Joe Biden, come on in.
00:30:28.180
And then they blend in. And now the American people elect Trump to say, we got to get these
00:30:34.180
guys out. They're causing a lot of problems. So if they're not wearing shirts that say, yo soy
00:30:40.180
illegal alieno, send me down to Bukeleville, then how do you get it? Well, you go to the job sites that
00:30:47.320
they work at. You go to the crime houses that they live in. You notice that they don't speak
00:30:52.280
English. You take a look and you see, you know, probably a little old lady from Norway is not
00:30:58.300
going to be an illegal alien. But if, you know, if you got the accent, you got the look, you clearly
00:31:03.100
haven't been here very long, then maybe you're, if you got some face tattoos, if you're, you know,
00:31:07.880
trafficking fentanyl, maybe there's a better chance you're an illegal alien. So they go in,
00:31:12.400
they round people up, but sometimes legal residents or citizens get caught up too.
00:31:17.960
Yeah, that's, that's the problem. Of course. This is a pretty insidious little article here
00:31:25.620
because catching some citizens in an immigration raid is inevitable. It is not possible to enforce
00:31:35.720
immigration law when you have this many tens of millions of illegal aliens in the country.
00:31:40.040
Uh, it's not possible to, to pinpoint all of the illegals. That's the whole, that's the whole
00:31:46.900
issue. You can't quite pinpoint them. So once again, I think even that could, well, I think all
00:31:53.660
that will really serve to do is to highlight just how widespread the illegal immigration problem
00:31:58.880
is and how much it affects our political order. Cause you're gonna have the Democrats say,
00:32:03.560
well, they really don't commit crime and they really don't use welfare resources. And none of that's
00:32:07.740
true. But, but one real sticking point is a lot of us are concerned that the illegal aliens are
00:32:13.100
voting. I don't want to say, well, they're, they're screwing up our elections. Now they are already
00:32:19.020
compromising our electoral system because congressional apportionment is based on the census. It's based
00:32:25.660
on population data. It's not based on the number of citizens. It's based on the number of people in
00:32:30.500
the state. So you flood the country with illegal aliens that is going to give the states that have
00:32:36.460
those illegal aliens more representation in Congress. So when you have sanctuary cities and
00:32:43.160
sanctuary states where you say, Hey, illegals flood in here, that is Democrats cheating to rig the
00:32:48.220
electoral system to give themselves more power in the federal government. That, that is indisputable.
00:32:55.280
So you've already got that issue, but the Democrats will then say, well, look, yeah. Okay.
00:32:58.740
We flood the country with these guys. We flood certain states with these guys. And that does
00:33:01.740
in some way affect the electoral system, but at least they don't vote. And it turns out that's
00:33:05.900
not true. You remember the superintendent we were covering last week is the Des Moines,
00:33:11.140
Iowa superintendent. He was the superintendent of the biggest school district in Iowa.
00:33:16.740
He was paid over $300,000 per year. You know, all the jobs Americans won't do. That's why we need
00:33:21.800
the illegal aliens. He's been there for a while. He had a rap sheet. He had some problems.
00:33:25.720
Well, this guy, he finally gets arrested and it turns out that this guy was registered to vote.
00:33:35.180
Hold on. What? That cannot be. I was reliably informed by the Democrats and by the liberal media
00:33:43.920
that the illegal aliens are never registered to vote, that this is a made up issue by the Republicans
00:33:50.220
could never happen. Then how was this guy registered to vote? For years, for years and years.
00:34:01.800
How did that happen? Now, this is just one high profile case. As we mentioned, ICE goes in,
00:34:10.160
rounds up 30 of these guys. And then there have been 1.6 million who have left in the first, what,
00:34:16.000
seven, eight months of the Trump administration, according to the Center for Immigration Studies,
00:34:20.840
many through self-deportation. We don't know their names. We don't know their cases. The reason we
00:34:25.900
know this guy's name and we know his case is because it's so particularly absurd that he was making over
00:34:30.720
300 grand a year as a school superintendent. He was an illegal alien. But when you finally put a face
00:34:38.520
and a name to illegal immigration, and then you scratch below the surface for two seconds,
00:34:42.080
you realize this guy was registered to vote. How many more of them are registered to vote?
00:34:49.180
What would our elections look like without illegal immigration?
00:34:55.540
Would Democrats ever win a national election? It's a very real question.
00:35:02.600
And I know there are going to be all these warning labels. No, actually, no, illegal aliens don't vote.
00:35:08.700
There's probably going to be a warning label on my video today from the big tech companies.
00:35:17.400
Like, there's your proof that the illegal aliens are, in fact, registered to vote.
00:35:27.820
it just seems like the bill is coming due for Democrats.
00:35:33.360
There are massive shifts of the voting populace moving to the right.
00:35:39.280
And as the Republicans now do have the government,
00:35:42.000
are wielding the government to uncover the Democrat perfidy on this and all the other issues.
00:35:50.400
It's hard to see the Democrat numbers improving.
00:35:52.280
No surprise that their unfavorables are as high as they've ever been.
00:35:59.620
Just wait till you hear what the residents of Democrat cities have to say about the way Democrats have covered crime.
00:36:05.820
When the left attacks, the answer isn't silence.
00:36:11.260
The answer is to show up everywhere, to make our voices louder than ever,
00:36:14.540
to push out more content, more truth, more breaking news, more investigative journalism,
00:36:21.560
This October, Daily Wire Plus members are getting more new films, more new series,

00:36:34.500
My favorite comment yesterday is from C. Dan Howell, who says,
00:36:37.980
this whole we need to bring down the temperature thing reminds me of a kid who hits another kid
00:36:41.860
and starts yelling truce and getting mad that he was hit back.
00:36:45.800
The left murders its political opponent, threatens its political opponents, murders its political
00:36:53.800
opponents, excuses the murder of its political opponents, in some cases celebrates the murder
00:36:57.880
of its political opponents, and then demands that its political opponents bring down the
00:37:17.160
You're the one jacking up the temperature on the thermostat.
00:37:22.140
I'd like to bring down, the one way we could bring down the temperature, I guess, is by punishing
00:37:26.420
By punishing you and stigmatizing your behavior, and in some cases prosecuting you when you
00:37:33.620
Is that what you, that's the only way that we can bring the temperature down.
00:37:39.640
Now, speaking of all this crime, really, really sad story, but an illustrative story.
00:37:45.940
A woman from D.C. testifying on what crime in D.C., you know, this slogan bandied about
00:37:57.100
He shot my grandson in cold blood seven times, and they didn't consider that as first-degree
00:38:13.040
They act like we would be lucky if we got manslaughter.
00:38:17.280
The bottom line is that murder in D.C. is treated as a joke when it comes time to justice.
00:38:28.500
Your heart breaks for this woman, and she's totally right, especially that last line there.
00:38:33.400
She says, you know, the fact is, crime in D.C., it's treated as a joke.
00:38:42.140
Oh, it's just this abstraction, crime in D.C., crime in Chicago.
00:38:49.920
We're not talking about jaywalking, first of all.
00:38:54.000
And murder in Chicago, it's not just a punchline.
00:39:00.780
It's people's grandkids being shot and murdered every day, every weekend.
00:39:10.280
And then, the prosecutors, letting the murderers largely off the hook, going real soft on them,
00:39:18.580
which is a grave injustice to the families, and creates more victims.
00:39:26.180
When the Democrats are invading against the supposedly tyrannical Donald Trump, who is bringing in the federal government to do its job,
00:39:34.980
which is to step in when American cities fail, when they cannot govern themselves.
00:39:44.160
Please respect our cultural right to allow murder to fester.
00:39:50.600
You have, that's our right, to let women's grandkids be slaughtered by the bushel basket every week.
00:40:03.860
And I know there's still Republican consultants who are scratching their heads.
00:40:08.220
How did Donald Trump do so much better in 2024 with black men?
00:40:13.740
How did so much of the black male vote move over to the right?
00:40:16.200
With women, with Hispanics, with, how, how did that happen?
00:40:27.880
It's pretty, I guess rocket science is a practical science too.
00:40:33.060
Because it's about the basic aspects of human nature and incentives.
00:40:46.580
I think that's true even for people who wouldn't call themselves on the right.
00:40:49.600
I don't know what that woman's political views are.
00:40:51.920
I don't know that she's some rock-ribbed conservative.
00:40:54.440
But she knows that she doesn't want a grandkid to be murdered.
00:40:57.180
And the party that is allowing her grandkid to be murdered and going soft on his murderers,
00:41:07.760
Now, speaking of black issues, black cities, particularly black issues.
00:41:19.360
I've only had one or two run-ins with Jamal Bowman.
00:41:22.300
After I gave a CPAC speech on the transgender ideology, Jamal Bowman called me a Nazi who wants only white people to live.
00:41:37.500
And Jamal Bowman went on CNN to make a curious claim about public health and medical science.
00:41:53.500
The reason why heart disease, listen to what I'm saying.
00:41:56.660
The reason why heart disease and cancer and obesity and diabetes are bigger in the black community is because of the stress we carry from having to deal with being called the N-word directly or indirectly every day.
00:42:10.440
If your colleagues would listen and try to learn and engage and grow and stop being so hateful, we could have a better country.
00:42:19.860
Like, stop being so hateful and let me explain to you that diabetes and heart disease is caused by hearing the N-word.
00:42:36.320
I'm an honorary doctor of humane letters, but I'm not a medical doctor.
00:42:40.940
And so I guess none of my doctor friends have ever told me.
00:42:48.320
But it turns out, well, not heart disease and diabetes generally.
00:42:51.100
Heart disease and diabetes specifically among black people is caused not by diet or a lack of exercise or genetics or any other factor.
00:43:06.360
It's caused by hearing the N-word, which raises a really interesting thought because white people don't say the N-word, if you haven't noticed.
00:43:18.280
Maybe in Jamal Bowman's fevered imagination, there are Klansmen around every corner looking to burn a cross and drop a hard R.
00:43:27.340
But in reality, white people don't say the N-word.
00:43:31.360
And actually, statistically, the only people who say the N-word are black people.
00:43:37.480
Sometimes colloquially and especially in rap music.
00:43:44.600
So black, we've found the culprit for diabetes and heart disease.
00:43:57.560
Jamal Bowman's screaming, you need to stop being so hateful, you white devil.
00:44:06.000
You need to stop and you need to learn your medical science and know that the N-word causes diabetes.
00:44:21.400
I'm saying the Democrats have the audacity to accuse Trump and the Republicans of medical misinformation.
00:44:29.620
Because we, for instance, say, hey, if you get the Fauci-ouchie, that probably won't protect you from catching COVID.
00:44:35.820
Remember, we said that and people were kicked off of YouTube for that.
00:44:39.040
And then it turned out that was completely true and everyone admitted it.
00:44:45.300
Donald Trump says that there's an association between acetaminophen, Tylenol, and neurological developmental disorders.
00:44:53.000
Which, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Columbia, basically every major, Mount Sinai, every major medical institution, and the manufacturer of Tylenol all have admitted, apparently going all the way back to 2008.
00:45:05.560
We'll have to cover more on that story tomorrow.
00:45:08.960
But they, so they, that's medical misinformation.
00:45:12.300
But when a Democrat congressman goes on TV and he says, your N-word gave me heart disease.
00:45:24.000
I think, well, Trump is investigating the universities at Harvard.
00:45:27.200
And by the way, I'm going to be at Harvard tomorrow.
00:45:28.580
If you're around, I'll be giving a speech up at Harvard Law School tomorrow evening.
