00:03:18.480 Hassan up there with the Dartmouth Political Union. It was a lot of fun. We were not able

00:03:24.500 to stream the debate on our YouTube channels. I don't think Mehdi was able to stream it on his

00:03:28.920 either. You can find it at the Dartmouth Political Union channel, I think it is. And it was a lot of

00:03:33.920 fun, mostly because I won. That was the main part that I really enjoyed. It was good. We were

00:03:40.080 debating whether or not President Trump has upheld the Constitution, the Dartmouth kids did a great

00:03:44.960 job because it was a moderated debate. It was a formal debate. And a lot of times what we call

00:03:51.320 debate is just a bunch of people screaming at each other on the internet. And then everyone

00:03:55.060 declares victory and it's really loud and annoying. It's kind of a circus. But what they did at

00:03:59.740 Dartmouth was really good. And I think we should implement this, frankly, more across the political

00:04:03.800 media is there were rules to it. So you weren't supposed to talk over each other. You weren't

00:04:09.820 supposed to just get little jabs in and change subjects. And I was really focused. They did a

00:04:15.380 good job. And most importantly, in the Monk debate format, the audience is polled before the debate

00:04:21.540 to figure out how they feel about the issue with their prejudices. Obviously, Dartmouth's a very

00:04:26.640 liberal campus, Ivy League. So we go in there. The left side has a huge advantage in public opinion.

00:04:33.840 And then you measure public opinion at the end of the debate. And so you actually can just figure

00:04:38.120 out who won. So not to spike the football too much, but very glad to say that not only was I

00:04:45.140 able to win over my amiable debate opponent, Mehdi Hassan, but more importantly, the subject

00:04:52.080 prevailed. A lot of people went in there with the prejudice that Trump is somehow abusing the

00:04:58.000 constitution, violating the constitution. And then when the facts were presented, even to the very

00:05:02.640 liberal audience, when the facts were presented in a moderate way with rules, so you couldn't try

00:05:07.460 to cheat and speak over each other and filibuster. When the facts were presented, even the very

00:05:12.900 liberal audience came over to my side and recognized that Trump has, of course, upheld

00:05:17.880 the Constitution. Other funny little bit about that debate was that, I didn't know this going

00:05:23.020 in, apparently Nnedi Hassan, my debate opponent, wrote a book called How to Win Every Argument,

00:05:29.180 how to win debates or something. So anyway, there's going to have to be a new addition to

00:05:33.500 that book. There will be a little asterisk on there, how to win every debate except against

00:05:37.080 Michael Knowles. But it was a lot of fun. We had a great time. Mehdi and I had a nice dinner after

00:05:40.740 with the students. So if you can find the debate, it's good to go watch. But in any case, another

00:05:45.400 win for Trump. And we will get to what that means for the admin. First, though, we turn back to

00:05:50.580 California. You remember the Palisades fire was last January. The left said it was caused by

00:05:55.520 climate change. Then the right pointed out the reason the fire was so extreme in its burn was

00:06:00.420 because of the failures of Democrat government. Gavin Newsom knew. Trump warned him. He knew that

00:06:05.820 he had this deforestation problem. He knew that he had all this brush that he hadn't cleared away.

00:06:11.580 And so that was just like kindling for the fire. They were dumping a ton of water into the ocean

00:06:16.900 because they wanted to protect the delta smelt or something. So they didn't have water to put

00:06:20.180 the fire out. And it was a complete disaster. That's why it was so devastating. And then there

00:06:24.060 were even some hints that the guy who started the fire might be a leftist. But now we know he's in

00:06:29.580 he's in court, the alleged arsonist, Jonathan Rindernacht. 30 years old, he was, according to

00:06:37.420 documents presented in court, obsessed with Luigi Mangione, the guy who murdered the United

00:06:43.420 Healthcare CEO in cold blood. He routinely searched for free Luigi Mangione. He repeatedly

00:06:49.240 searched for let's take down all the billionaires online. According to the documents, he started the

00:06:55.460 fire out of a resentment of the rich every time. And what's so crazy and conservatives need to keep

00:07:03.960 beating this drum is that today, even the liberal outlets like the Atlantic will admit that political

00:07:11.420 violence is mostly a phenomenon on the left, not on the right. For years and years, they always

00:07:16.680 told us political violence was mostly on the right. And they would cook their statistics a

00:07:20.780 little bit and they would count Muslims as far right political violence. There's not a lot that

00:07:25.280 a far-right American conservative has to do with Islamic terror. But they would lump all this stuff

00:07:30.340 in. But then the crucial part is they would not count left-wing violence. They would say BLM wasn't

00:07:35.900 left-wing violence. They would say Antifa blowing up my speech wasn't left-wing violence. They would

00:07:39.440 say that the trans shooting at Covenant School wasn't left-wing violence. The shooting at the

00:07:44.840 church in Minnesota wasn't left-wing violence. They could try to argue that the assassination

00:07:49.220 of Charlie Kirk was not left-wing violence. And this too. This is not going to turn up in registers

00:07:53.900 of left-wing violence, this fire in the Palisades caused a quarter of a trillion dollars in damage

00:08:00.220 and killed a dozen people. And this guy, allegedly, was as explicitly leftist, ideologically

00:08:07.940 motivated as it is possible to be. So we stick around California because two nights ago we had

00:08:13.740 the governor's debate. Maybe we'll get to a little bit of that. It was a total clown show. And ever

00:08:18.120 since they took out Eric Swalwell, almost certainly a Democrat will win that governor's race. Then

00:08:23.820 focusing in on where that fire was, the LA mayor debate. That was last night.

00:08:28.940 And here we have a Republican who was absolutely incredible. This is Spencer Pratt.

00:08:34.460 He's a reality TV star. Here is Spencer Pratt smacking down the utopian nonsense of the

00:08:41.440 socialist candidate Nithya Raman. Treatment first, I will go below the Harbor Freeway

00:10:03.280 much about the homeless, go down there, tell them you're going to bring them to a home. They're

00:10:05.980 going to stab you. That's what they're going to do. Because their defining feature, the reason 1.00

00:12:28.420 races that we're probably going to lose and we just run some shock jock we run a guy who really

00:12:34.620 should be on talk radio or podcasts and we run him as if he's a politician he gets some good

00:12:39.560 zinger lines in but no one really thinks that he can get his hands into the nitty-gritty of of

00:12:44.620 government this is a broader complaint about the right unfortunately i was discussing this last

00:12:49.500 night, I was at an event here in Tampa, Florida. And I said, one of the structural issues for the

00:12:54.020 right is that everyone on the right doesn't want to be a politician, doesn't want to go make laws,

00:13:00.780 doesn't want to go be an activist and an organizer. The people on the right want to be

00:13:04.620 broadcasters. They want to have a podcast. You can look, elected officials, after they win their

00:13:12.660 seat, they will start podcasts. Appointed officials, same thing. It seems as if people

00:13:19.260 on the right run for office in order to get on TV. And people on the left, they like the limelight

00:13:25.760 a little bit too, but their podcasts aren't as good. And they never succeeded at talk radio.

00:13:29.760 Their cable channels always flop because it's the opposite for the left. The left goes on TV

00:13:35.280 in order to affect political change. The right gets into politics in order to get on TV.

00:13:41.400 And so the thing I love about this answer here from Spencer Pratt is it's showing he actually

00:13:45.760 has a keen awareness of the nitty gritty of the government. He says, yeah, look, we're developing

00:13:50.240 at this price per square foot, but really we're getting these crazy contracts for double that

00:13:54.880 price per square foot. And here are the number of buildings and here are the buildings that are

00:13:58.280 vacant. And here's what's going to happen when these guys take over the buildings. And here's

00:14:02.360 how the buildings relate to the government. It's the nitty gritty of politics, which I love.

00:14:06.280 It's not as sexy. That's not the clip that's going to go viral. But what that signals to me is

00:14:10.500 this guy kind of has it all. He's got that reality TV charisma. He got the riz.

00:14:17.200 He's got the right opinion after left-wing incompetence and terrorism has destroyed LA,

00:14:23.040 Gamora by the Sea. I guess better than it being destroyed like the other Gamora was.

00:14:26.520 But nevertheless, it's in a really sorry state. So if the voters are ever going to be primed for

00:14:30.480 a Republican, now would be the moment. And he's demonstrated that he actually could run the city.

00:14:36.940 There was another clip of him at a political event, out canvassing, and they said, well,

00:14:41.660 what do you say to people who point out that you don't have any experience in politics?

00:14:46.380 He says, look at what experience got us. It burned the whole city down, and now we have

00:14:50.000 crackheads running the streets, and you can't go anywhere at night. Look at what experience got us.

00:14:55.500 Here's what I will do, and he gets into the details. I love it. Again, LA is probably so

00:14:59.740 far gone that it ain't going to happen, but this is a really good start, and I have not seen

00:15:04.860 an L.A. mayor candidate this good at both sides of it. There have actually been pretty decent

00:15:12.440 L.A. Republican mayor candidates, but this good at the charisma part and the substantive part

00:15:18.920 in quite a while. So fingers crossed, fingers crossed. I wouldn't bet the farm on it though.

00:15:23.000 Now, speaking of the farm, we look to the illegal immigration problem. There is a huge white pill 1.00

00:15:29.740 out on the deportations. I know a lot of conservatives, myself included, we want to

00:15:33.520 see more deportations. We have something like 20 million illegals in this country. President Trump

00:15:37.360 formally deported about 700,000 in the first year. And then there were, we heard about a million,

00:15:42.860 million and a half self-deportations. And that, I think it's really well substantiated in the,

00:15:48.300 in the studies, but that seems a little more nebulous, right? What do we mean by self-deportations?

00:15:53.900 What do we, what, is there an effect to the Trump crackdowns beyond just the people that

00:16:01.500 they're formally removing? That's the big question, beyond just the viral social media clips.

00:16:07.140 When Trump deports 700,000, are we only deporting 700,000 or is there more to it? And Forbes has a

00:18:00.840 ICE immigration enforcement has harmed U.S. workers, research shows. New research

00:18:07.380 finds that immigration and customs enforcement activity has harmed U.S.-born workers. Well,

00:18:14.340 how's that? The findings contradict a central policy justification for ICE raids and arrest

00:18:19.660 quotas last year. Earlier this year, they go on blah, blah, blah. ICE agents killed

00:18:24.380 to Americans in Minneapolis who were like driving their cars into ICE agents, blah, blah, blah,

00:18:28.580 blah. Immigration enforcement surge did not help US-born workers, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

00:18:35.260 Okay, why is this bad? Well, it's because, according to Forbes, for every, according to

00:18:43.500 the research in the average area, approximately six undocumented immigrants dropped out of the

00:18:49.560 labor force for every one ICE arrest. Now, why does that not help U.S.-born workers? I agree.

00:18:57.340 One thing that does do is cause disruptions to the labor force. That causes disruptions to

00:19:05.060 American business. Yeah, it does all that stuff. American business, big business,

00:19:10.360 loved illegal immigration. Don't forget, it wasn't just the left. The left loved illegal

00:19:14.660 immigration because they thought it would give them a permanent electoral majority. Maybe it will.

00:19:19.560 The right, some parts of the right, loved illegal immigration because it helped big business to pay 0.59

00:19:24.240 slave wages. So immigration enforcement here is not just pulling the illegal aliens that they

00:19:30.780 arrest out of the workforce. It's causing approximately six illegal aliens to drop

00:19:36.080 out of the labor force for every one ICE arrest. Not only is that not a bad thing, not only is

00:19:43.300 not bad news for U.S. workers in the labor market. That is a great start. This is the cascading

00:19:50.820 effect of immigration enforcement. Some people criticized Trump because they said he's doing

00:19:56.640 all these really flamboyant raids and there are really glossy videos at DHS showing the raids in

00:20:02.500 these different cities and pulling the illegals off the street. And all they're really doing is 0.67

00:20:06.360 riling up the base, but they're not deporting enough illegals. And what people failed to

00:20:11.100 understand is that those videos, that kind of propaganda has an effect on deportations.

00:20:20.140 When an illegal alien sees the cops go raid the company down the street, he is less likely to

00:20:26.580 show up to work the next day. And that's good. We don't want him to show up to work the next day 1.00

00:20:33.400 because we don't want him to be in the country because he's violating our laws and we want him 0.97

00:20:39.980 to go home. Then if he wants to immigrate, he can apply for immigration and we can have a debate 0.98

00:20:44.180 over legal immigration. We'll get to that a little bit in the Marco Rubio comments. But we want that.

00:20:49.380 I remember when the illegal immigration debate really began to surge again 10, 15 years ago,

00:20:53.580 Ann Coulter wrote a great book called Adios America. She was doing a tour about immigration

00:20:57.800 and someone said, well, we can't just let these people, these then 11 million illegal aliens,

00:21:04.280 we can't just let them live in the shadows. What are we going, we have to give them amnesty.

00:21:09.020 We have to, because otherwise we're going to let them live in the shadows and we can't do that.

00:21:12.620 And Ann Coulter said, yes, we can.

00:21:17.760 Certainly, it would be much better to let them live in the shadows than it would be to give them amnesty,

00:21:24.800 which is a total violation of our law, total violation of the desires of voters,

00:21:28.540 total violation of basic national sovereignty.

00:21:30.960 But two, when people are living in the shadows, especially when there's immigration enforcement,

00:21:36.060 especially when they're iced out of financial institutions, which is one of the proposals

00:21:39.940 from the Trump White House, to force the banks to report on the citizenship status of their

00:21:45.460 customers. And when they're concerned that if they show up to work, they're going to be raided,

00:21:50.800 so they drop out of the labor force. When that happens, that creates pressure from all sorts of

00:21:55.900 angles to get these people to deport themselves. And that did happen. We had over a million

00:22:01.500 self-deportations last year. We are not going to deport 20 million people, period. We're not going

00:22:06.100 to deport 20 million people. But even if we really wanted to, even if we had the political will,

00:22:11.320 we are not going to deport 20 million people on airplanes with ICE agents plucking them off the

00:22:16.100 street. It's not possible. There is not enough time, certainly in one presidential term, probably

00:22:21.440 not in three presidential terms. So the only way that you're going to do this is by throwing

00:22:26.280 everything at the problem. You're going to pay illegal aliens a thousand bucks to download the

00:22:31.760 app and use the geolocation and check in when they get back to their country of origin. You pay 0.65

00:22:36.360 them a thousand bucks, it's a lot cheaper than arresting them. You're going to obviously enforce

00:22:39.700 the border. You're going to raid the workplaces. You're going to squeeze them on their financial

00:22:43.320 institutions. You're going to go on down the line. That's the only way it's going to work.

00:22:48.160 This is great, great news. And it shows you that a lot is being done here. You have to get kind of

00:22:53.480 creative for the deportation problem. But six workers dropping out for every one illegal that's

00:22:58.640 arrested, that's a good start. Now, this brings me to the viral clip. Secretary of State Marco

00:23:03.720 Rubio takes over the press briefing, gets rave reviews from everybody. And he was charming.

00:23:10.720 He was risen up the reporters. He was quoting old school rap. He really did great. I mean,

00:23:17.340 he is a really, really good politician. And so I don't want my ensuing comments to be

00:23:23.460 misconstrued as some knock on Rubio. I think he's doing a very good job. But the answer that is

00:39:10.040 really hard for me and I've had a really hard time and I guess this is just something I was
