The Michael Knowles Show - Ep. 255 - Trump Was Right! It’s An Invasion

00:00:00.000 The Department of Homeland Security warns that the migrant caravan at the San Diego border

00:00:04.380 contains over 500 known criminals, prompting Tijuana residents to protest what they are

00:00:10.320 calling an invasion. Then, video killed the TV star, Trump beats the White House Correspondents

00:00:16.180 Association, and Mohammed celebrates his 1,447th birthday. I'm Michael Knowles, 0.97

00:00:22.020 and this is The Michael Knowles Show.

00:00:30.000 The Department of Homeland Security, I'm sorry, I'm getting breaking news in here.

00:00:34.360 I'm sorry, just one second. Yes, we can now confirm, the Daily Wire can confirm,

00:00:39.240 Donald Trump has pardoned the Thanksgiving turkey. We cut now to a live shot from the White House.

00:00:45.240 In this grand tradition, I am pleased to announce that today's lucky bird and guest of honor is

00:00:51.780 named Pease, along with his alternate named Carrots. The children will understand that.

00:01:00.000 The winner of this vote was decided by a fair and open election conducted on the

00:01:06.440 White House website. This was a fair election. Unfortunately, Carrots refused to concede

00:01:13.820 and demanded a recount, and we're still fighting with Carrots. And I will tell you,

00:01:19.520 we've come to a conclusion. Carrots, I'm sorry to tell you, the result did not change.

00:01:24.700 It's too bad for Carrots. Too bad for Carrots. Too bad for Stacey Abrams in Georgia. Too bad for 1.00

00:01:32.520 Andrew Gilliam in Florida. I love him so much. I love when Trump does this. He's at his best. He's

00:01:38.700 funny. And he's not missing any opportunity to just get a little dig in there at the left,

00:01:44.100 a little dig at these Democrats who won't give up elections, even at the turkey pardon, one of the 0.99

00:01:49.060 stupidest, most frivolous traditions in the presidency. He takes the opportunity to just 0.99

00:01:54.540 get a great zinger in there at the left. Really great stuff. We have a lot to talk about, but

00:01:59.060 first, let's make a little money with Ring. You know Ring. Ring's mission is to make neighborhoods

00:02:03.760 safer. Today, over a million people use the amazing Ring video doorbell to help protect their homes.

00:02:08.960 You know them because it's all your cool friends. Some people have friends who are cool. Some

00:02:14.760 aren't that cool. You go to your cool friends house and they have that cool Ring video doorbell there.

00:02:18.820 They have the floodlight camera, so you can see people and you can see when things go bump in

00:02:24.500 the night. All of Ring's stuff is so accessible because with the Ring video doorbell, you can

00:02:30.880 see people who are there. You can talk to them, whether you're inside the house, whether you're

00:02:34.300 at work, whether you're on a beach in Boca. It's HD video, two-way audio, lets you know the moment

00:02:39.060 anyone steps onto your property. You can even set off an alarm right from your phone. Whether you're

00:02:45.460 home or away, the Ring floodlight camera lets you keep an eye on your home from anywhere.

00:02:48.820 A Ring floodlight offers the ultimate in-home security with high visibility floodlights

00:02:53.200 and a powerful HD camera that puts security in your hands. The nice thing is it's uploaded

00:02:57.040 to the cloud, so even if the thief steals your Ring, it doesn't matter. You'll have it.

00:03:01.380 You can send it to your neighbors. Save up to $150 off a Ring of Security kit when you

00:03:04.860 go to ring.com slash Knowles, K-N-O-W-L-E-S. Ring.com slash Knowles, K-N-O-W-L-E-S.

00:03:09.200 What is it? Ring.com slash Knowles.

00:03:11.240 So according to the Department of Homeland Security, in news that does not relate to

00:03:16.520 whether peas or carrots or whichever Turkey is being pardoned by the president, when you look

00:03:22.020 to our southern border, the Department of Homeland Security is now saying that that caravan,

00:03:26.700 which has been moving from Honduras through Guatemala to Mexico, now to the U.S. southern

00:03:31.240 border, now has about 500 known criminals in it. These are people who are wanted for aggravated

00:03:40.700 assault with a deadly weapon, armed robbery, sexual assault on a child, assault on a female.

00:03:45.760 We're not talking about somebody stealing a Snickers bar from the newspaper stand.

00:03:49.300 We're talking about dangerous criminals, about 500 of them. Right now, I think it's about 7,000

00:03:55.240 people. It's expected to swell again to 10,000 people. So again, obviously, it's not the majority

00:04:00.460 of these people are violent criminals, but it's not an insignificant portion either. When you're

00:04:05.320 talking about 500 people out of 5,000, 7,000, that's a pretty significant chunk.

00:04:10.700 Obviously, the left doesn't want to admit this. They want to say that it's perfectly normal

00:04:14.660 for people to cross national borders illegally, to just wander around other countries without

00:04:21.320 any right to do so. They want to pretend that that's normal, and they want to pretend that

00:04:24.980 Americans are wrong and evil for saying, no, thank you. We have a border. You have to follow 1.00

00:04:30.600 our laws. One issue right now that the left has to deal with is that citizens of other countries 1.00

00:04:36.740 are admitting that this is insane. Because you've got to remember, these migrants are coming 1.00

00:04:40.960 from Honduras. They go all the way up. Now they're in Mexico. The Mexicans aren't any happier 0.99

00:04:45.760 about this than the United States is. They've now got 10,000 people wandering around their country

00:04:49.800 causing mayhem in the streets. So there was a group of protesters, Mexican national protesters

00:04:56.300 in Tijuana. Here's what they were chanting just the other day.

00:05:12.580 For those who don't speak Spanish, I don't speak Spanish either, but I could at least make that 0.77

00:05:16.520 out. He's saying this is an invasion. I am saying Donald Trump was right. This is an invasion. Of

00:05:23.780 course it's an invasion. If this isn't an invasion, then what is an invasion? What's the definition

00:05:28.720 of an invasion? It's when another group comes into your territory in a hostile manner and does

00:05:35.140 whatever they want regardless of laws, regardless of the demands of the people who are in that

00:05:41.180 territory. So this is obviously happening. The Tijuana mayor, Juan Manuel Gastelum, is calling

00:05:47.360 these people bums. And bums is what they are. They're breaking laws. They're not just breaking 1.00

00:05:53.300 the laws of the United States or trying to. They're breaking the laws of Mexico. They're 0.99

00:05:56.700 breaking the laws of other countries along that route. What the left is trying to pretend now

00:06:00.880 is that it's all women and children. That's what they always say. It's women and children coming 0.83

00:06:04.860 through. They're just looking for a better life. They're fleeing violence. It isn't. The best estimates

00:06:09.580 we have are that of the 7,000 people there, maybe 1,000 of them are women and children. The rest, 0.98

00:06:15.040 6,000 or so, are young men. No surprise. This happened in 2015 when Muslim migrants from Syria, 0.95

00:06:23.800 from Afghanistan, from other places in the Middle East, when they flooded into Europe,

00:06:28.320 we were all told it was women and children. It was refugees. And yet virtually all of these people 1.00

00:06:33.680 were young, unvetted, single men. And that's what we're seeing here now. The Department of Homeland

00:06:39.660 Security is also warning, quote, citizens of countries outside of Central America, including countries in

00:06:44.760 the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, and elsewhere, are currently traveling through Mexico toward the

00:06:50.700 U.S. So again, not a spontaneous uprising. We never believed that it was. But this shows you the

00:06:57.540 national security threat. They just arrested a number of Bangladeshi nationals who were found

00:07:02.260 to have made it into Mexico and were trying to get up into the United States. People from all over

00:07:06.700 the world, why wouldn't they? The president of Guatemala said that he's deported a number of

00:07:11.820 ISIS-related Islamic terrorists who made it into his country. Some of us think that's far-fetched

00:07:17.840 because we don't expect to see Islamic terrorists on the other side of the globe in Central America.

00:07:22.420 But if the plan here is to damage the United States, to invade the United States, why wouldn't

00:07:27.200 they go to Mexico? Why wouldn't they go to Guatemala or Honduras or El Salvador or other failed 0.96

00:07:31.840 states that can allow them to slip in and slip up into the United States, especially when half of the

00:07:37.540 United States is encouraging the invasion, is saying that if you oppose the invasion, that you're

00:07:42.680 somehow racist or bigoted or hateful or whatever. On top of all of this, a judge has ruled that

00:07:50.040 President Trump cannot turn away illegal immigrants who have crossed at places that are not official

00:07:55.960 ports of entry. So what we've got now, because the United States is so generous in its immigration

00:08:01.860 policy, if you show up to a port of entry and you've got no papers, you're not vetted, you're not

00:08:07.620 being offered citizenship, you're not being offered immigration, and you just say, I'm here to be a

00:08:12.260 refugee, they'll process you. They'll bring you through refugee proceedings and see if you can be

00:08:17.680 granted political asylum. Now, some people don't want to wait in line. Some people don't want to

00:08:22.160 wait that long. So they'll cross over illegally between ports of entry. If they're then arrested

00:08:26.260 by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, President Trump was saying they have forfeited their right

00:08:31.160 to be granted asylum. They're already breaking our laws. We've got to kick them out. This federal 1.00

00:08:36.040 judge, John Tiger, is saying absolutely not. Even those people have to be processed. Even people

00:08:42.940 that we are catching in a crime, their first act in the United States is a crime, even they will be

00:08:47.960 processed and possibly given asylum. So this strikes down, or at least halts, President Trump's

00:08:53.440 executive order, his recent executive order to get those people out of the country. The left is

00:08:59.460 claiming that Donald Trump is anti-immigrant, that he's isolationist, that Republicans are

00:09:04.640 xenophobic, that we want to kick people out of the country. Where do you see this? Show me the

00:09:10.020 specific example. President Trump himself has said, we want immigrants, we just want them to come

00:09:14.800 legally. But show me the example. Where is this happening? We can't stop immigrants between ports 1.00

00:09:20.900 of entry. We're now seeing 2,000 people per day illegally flooding into this country. Even with

00:09:29.180 the United States military, we've sent the military to the border, even then we can't enforce our laws.

00:09:34.100 Where is this isolationist, cruel United States? What it seems to me is that we're impotent.

00:09:39.700 We're not able to enforce our basic laws. We're being held back at every turn by creative

00:09:46.540 interpretations of immigration law, by half of the country, the radical left, which wants open

00:09:51.100 borders, and by judges who are insisting that we can't even enforce laws that are on the books.

00:09:57.660 So open borders seems to be the only, that's the, that's the only option that the left is willing to

00:10:02.960 give us. We have to remind ourselves, no nation on earth has open borders. No nation with open borders

00:10:09.860 has ever remained a nation very long. It's insane. Why would we tolerate this? Mexico won't tolerate 0.95

00:10:17.460 this. There are protests in the streets in Mexico. Why? Show me the example of the United States being

00:10:24.300 especially cruel to immigrants. From all I can see, the United States is the most generous country in

00:10:28.780 the world when it comes to an immigration regime. The left can't show an example, so they just talk in

00:10:33.260 these slogans. Nobody is illegal. They're dreamers. They use all of these various euphemisms. Undocumented

00:10:41.240 future Americans, undocumented dreamers, whatever. It's all slogans. Ask them to cite you a specific

00:10:48.440 example of the United States having a cruel immigration policy. They say, well, the reason that

00:10:54.240 people are entering illegally is because our immigration regime is too restrictive. We right now in the United

00:11:00.260 States have something like 19% of the population foreign born. This is the highest number since the

00:11:05.760 1890s. What number would you prefer? If 19 or 20% of the population being foreign born is too low,

00:11:13.440 what would you prefer? 30%, 40%, 60%? At what point is so much of your country foreign born that the 0.89

00:11:23.120 country itself no longer has a claim to its own identity? I'm not suggesting that we should cut off all

00:11:29.740 immigration, but especially, especially at a time when half of the country is saying we can't

00:11:34.600 assimilate anybody. We shouldn't assimilate anybody. They should maintain their exact same culture and 0.99

00:11:40.220 their exact same language and not change a single thing to come to America. At what point do you not

00:11:44.460 have a country anymore? What other countries on earth have 20% foreign born populations? 19%. I don't

00:11:51.540 see a lot of them. You've got to drill down to the specifics and they'll fall silent because all they

00:11:55.560 have are slogans. Speaking of falling silent, one of my favorite things to do every single day is when

00:12:00.420 I come home from this show, obviously I've been working at that point for already three or maybe

00:12:06.320 even four hours and so I'm really exhausted and I like to just lie down on my purple mattress. You

00:12:11.060 know how much I love my purple mattress. I'm a proselytizer for my purple mattress. It is the

00:12:15.760 greatest mattress ever, period. That's all it is. It's not an inner spring. It's not exactly a memory

00:12:21.500 foam. It is this new technology developed by rocket scientists. I have no idea what it is. I

00:12:26.740 couldn't tell you. It's kind of squishy. It's kind of firm. It feels, the mattress feels both

00:12:30.720 firm and soft at the same time. I know that doesn't sound like it means anything. Just try it. You'll

00:12:35.720 believe me. It's the greatest. I've never slept better. My back feels great and I've got back

00:12:40.360 problems in my family. It's absolutely fabulous. It will feel different than anything you've ever

00:12:45.220 experienced. It's just this new material. It's unique. It's also sleeps very cool, which is really,

00:12:50.180 really nice. You can get a 100-night risk-free trial. If you're not fully satisfied, return

00:12:54.060 your mattress for a full refund. You will not return it. It's backed by 10-year warranty, free

00:12:58.120 shipping, and returns free in-home setup, old mattress removal. Do it. I'm telling you. You

00:13:02.720 spend money on the things that matter, which is where you spend. Some people spend a third of their

00:13:07.180 life on their bed. I spend, obviously, more like four-fifths. It really matters. You're going to

00:13:10.880 love purple. My listeners get a free purple pillow with purchase of a mattress. That's in addition

00:13:14.860 to great free gifts they're offering site-wide. Text COVFE, C-O-V-F-E-F-E, to 474747.

00:13:19.860 That's the only way to get a free pillow. Text COVFE, C-O-V-F-E-F-E, to 474747. That

00:13:25.120 is C-O-V-F-E-F-E, 474747. Get that cool mattress. So drill into the specifics. That's where they

00:13:33.620 will fall silent. Nobody has shown this better in recent days than Dan Crenshaw. You know Dan

00:13:38.840 Crenshaw? He's the war hero. He was injured. He was just elected to Congress. He wears an

00:13:43.600 eye patch, and SNL made fun of him. So Dan Crenshaw was on Face the Nation. And this whole

00:13:49.400 left-wing cabal on Face the Nation. They were talking about how Donald Trump is ruining

00:13:54.000 democracy, threatening democracy, threatening our freedoms. We've heard this. We see this

00:13:58.160 in the Washington Post, in the New York Times, on CNN, at the coffee cooler. Do we have coffee

00:14:02.960 coolers? No, we have coffee machines and water coolers. We're going to hear this at our Thanksgiving

00:14:06.660 table with our left-wing in-laws. And Dan Crenshaw asks a very simple question. Show me an example.

00:14:12.340 I mean, precisely that. I think some of our democratic freedoms and the principles that

00:14:17.420 we live by have been under attack for the better part of the last two years.

00:14:20.900 Congressman-elect, do you want to respond to that since the president is the leader of

00:14:24.460 your party?

00:14:25.120 Yeah. Well, I always ask the question, like, what? You know, like, what is he undermining

00:14:30.360 exactly? You know, what democratic freedoms have been undermined? We just had an election

00:14:34.300 where we switched power in the House. Democracy is at work. People are voting in record

00:14:40.140 numbers. I always ask for examples, and then we can hit those examples one by one. And

00:14:45.140 if it's worth criticizing, it's worth criticizing. But just kind of this broad brush criticism

00:14:50.560 that the president is somehow undermining our democracy, I always wonder what exactly we're

00:14:55.760 talking about.

00:14:56.280 I love that approach because this guy, this is a pretty tough hombre. Obviously, you can

00:15:02.700 see the patch on his eye. This is a warrior. This is a fighter. But when he presents himself

00:15:07.200 in front of left-wingers and in front of the public, he is so reasonable. He just, he kind

00:15:12.660 of sits back. He says, well, what are you talking about? This is what, whenever you see

00:15:17.920 right-wingers in those videos on the internet, you know, so-and-so destroys so-and-so, usually 1.00

00:15:23.040 it's not because the guy is yelling at whatever stupid college kid it is. It's because he allows 1.00

00:15:30.480 his adversary to tie the noose around his own neck, rhetorically speaking. He allows his

00:15:35.840 adversary to stumble and expose the shallowness of his ideas. It's not usually a slam dunk.

00:15:41.200 It's a question. You say, I think there was one of Ben, right? He said, how many genders

00:15:45.200 are there? Maybe it was, I forget. He said something about gender. But he asks the question.

00:15:50.920 And this is a good example. There was someone on Twitter the other day tweeted out, there are

00:15:54.300 more than two genders. This is just a fact. You ask them, how many are there? You give me 0.60

00:15:58.600 the number. You tell me, and we'll talk about it. They fall silent. That's what he says. He says,

00:16:03.500 what freedoms are being limited? So they jump in. One guy says, well, freedom of the press.

00:16:10.240 Freedom of the, why? Because Jim Acosta was kicked out of a press room. CNN didn't lose its press

00:16:14.840 credentials. CNN has other reporters in there. Jim Acosta was disrupting the press conference. He was

00:16:20.720 taking up a lot of time from other reporters who could ask questions. He was challenging the president.

00:16:25.000 He wasn't asking any questions. He wasn't asking challenging questions. He

00:16:28.580 was debating him. He was making assertions. He was stating his own opinion. He was being

00:16:35.180 disruptive. So he was kicked out. If Donald Trump were threatening the freedom of the press,

00:16:38.640 he would have thrown CNN out of there. Or he would stop having press conferences. This

00:16:42.520 president has been totally open to the press. He's constantly talking to them. They love him

00:16:46.960 for it because they get good ratings. And he loves it because he gets to slam them and make them look

00:16:50.520 like the partisan hacks that they are. How about freedom to vote? We just had a historically high

00:16:54.600 turnout for a midterm election. We never have high turnout in both parties at midterm elections.

00:17:00.040 Usually for the first midterm after a president is elected, there's high turnout among his adversaries,

00:17:05.520 but there's low turnout among his own party. This time there was very high turnout among both sides.

00:17:10.900 People were going out to vote in record numbers. Democrats were so excited to vote. They voted on

00:17:14.840 Wednesday and Thursday and Friday. I think some of them are still voting down there in Georgia.

00:17:18.140 How about freedom of education? You've got the president supporting school choice,

00:17:23.880 supporting charter schools, supporting the ability for students to get out of bad,

00:17:29.400 failing schools that are determined by their zip code and go to places where they could succeed.

00:17:34.280 And you've got Democrats like Andrew Gillum in Florida was talking about this. He said,

00:17:37.880 we got to kill the charter schools. We got to kill school choice. We've just got to force kids to 0.99

00:17:42.940 go to the failing schools that they're districted into. So it seems on that question of freedom,

00:17:47.480 Trump and the Republicans are, are far more advanced than the left. How about freedom of

00:17:52.060 religion? You had under the Obama administration, the little sisters of the poor suing the Obama

00:17:58.820 administration because the, because he was trampling over their religious freedom. He was forcing

00:18:04.240 Americans to pay for abortions. He's forcing Americans to, he was forcing Catholic and Christian 0.99

00:18:09.040 employers to pay for abortion inducing drugs. He was trampling over religious freedom. How about

00:18:14.600 under president Trump? None of that, an expansion of religious liberty. You're seeing fortunately, 0.99

00:18:20.500 finally, some of the courts allowing people to have, to practice their religion, to have their

00:18:25.740 own exercise of conscience, to not violate their religious views, not to bake cakes in, in certain

00:18:32.600 designs and participate in, in activities that they find morally objectionable. That's a great expansion

00:18:39.240 of religious liberty. You, there was just a Muslim woman elected to the house of representatives. 1.00

00:18:43.680 She wants to wear the hijab. There's a rule against headwear in chambers of Congress and 1.00

00:18:49.940 they're lifting that for her. They're doing it as a courtesy to her. We're seeing an expansion of

00:18:54.000 religious freedom. How about economic freedom? Obviously among the Republicans, under Republican

00:19:00.120 governance, there is a great expansion of economic freedom. Tax cuts and deregulation. Your taxes

00:19:06.340 represent your freedom. They're your money. They're the time that you spend working. They're your industry.

00:19:11.500 And when the government takes away your money, they're taking away your time. The, the average

00:19:17.120 American, if you're paying a 40% tax rate, then that means you're working almost half the year

00:19:21.100 for the federal government. You're working, say you're working five months a year for the government

00:19:25.620 as their wage slave, you know, giving as a, as a vassal, as some serf in their feudal scheme.

00:19:32.300 And under President Trump, we're seeing this greatly expanded. All of this talk, he's undermining

00:19:38.760 our freedoms. He's undermining democracy. It's lies. It's fake news. It's a BS. This is a great

00:19:45.920 strategy from Crenshaw and we should, we should all keep it up because it cuts the narrative. It

00:19:50.080 shows how empty all of this is. The left is so good at narrative. It's why they own the culture.

00:19:54.740 It's why they own Hollywood. And the right is not as good at it because we're usually so

00:19:59.400 scandalized by the lies that they're telling us in this narrative. But finally, we're taking it back.

00:20:04.600 We're taking it back from the Turkey pardon. We're taking it back in little cultural moments

00:20:08.300 where we can twist and show the narrative and, uh, and we're, we're able to fight that and expose it.

00:20:13.860 Speaking of fake news, did you know it's Muhammad's birthday? Muhammad, I'm talking about the 1.00

00:20:19.620 27th century religious figure from Arabia. It's Muhammad's birthday. It's his, uh, 1,447th birthday.

00:20:27.020 And speaking of fake news, the New York times today ran a doozy. They ran one of the fake

00:20:34.280 newsiest pieces I've seen in the New York times in a long time. And that is really saying something.

00:20:39.620 They ran a piece called happy birthday Muhammad. Now this is an op-ed piece. This was an opinion

00:20:44.620 piece, not a news article. Some people have, uh, responded to my criticism of this piece and say,

00:20:50.820 well, it's opinion. Opinions can't be right or wrong. It's just opinion. No, let me try to explain

00:20:56.820 this to you postmodern leftists. Opinions can be wrong and frequently are wrong. What you're thinking

00:21:03.340 of is a preference such as I prefer chocolate ice cream to vanilla ice cream. You're not saying

00:21:09.800 chocolate is objectively better than vanilla or sweeter or more delicious or whatever. You're saying,

00:21:14.620 you prefer it. And a preference can't be wrong because it's just your taste. It's a subjective

00:21:18.780 statement of taste. An opinion is a statement of fact as you see it. So if I say, I think the

00:21:26.140 leftist tears tumbler is the greatest and safest vessel for the transportation of leftist tears.

00:21:31.760 That is a true opinion because it is, there is no greater vessel for the safe transportation of

00:21:38.080 leftist tears than this. The FDA agrees with me. That is a true opinion. If I say, I think it is my

00:21:44.440 opinion that two plus two equals seven, that's a wrong opinion. It's, but hey man, that's just your

00:21:50.760 opinion. Right. It's your opinion, but it's wrong. All of that is prefaced to say it's Muhammad's 0.99

00:21:56.060 birthday. This guy, Harun Mogul wrote this glowing ode to Muhammad in the New York times. He gets a few

00:22:03.900 things wrong. So he says, quote, when he, Muhammad first proclaimed prophecy, even his own uncle laughed at

00:22:11.720 him, but he never laughed back. His followers were reviled, beaten, and killed. He didn't strike back.

00:22:21.840 If you're still with me, I, this is a little bit of a spoiler alert. If you haven't read the Quran,

00:22:27.040 he struck back. Muhammad struck back. He was actually famous for striking back. He struck back

00:22:33.040 all the time. Here are just a few verses from the Quran to remind you of him striking back. Quote,

00:22:37.020 but when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the pagans wherever you find them 0.88

00:22:42.600 and seize them, beleaguer them and lie in wait for them. Strike back. Kill them wherever you find them 0.99

00:22:49.420 and drive them out from where they drove you out. Strike back. When you meet the unbelievers, smite 1.00

00:22:55.760 their necks. This is a verse quoted by terrorists who behead people. Strike back. Strike them at the 1.00

00:23:01.700 necks and cut off their fingers. That actually has the word strike in them. He says he never struck back. 1.00

00:23:06.120 As to those women from whom you fear disobedience, give them a warning. Send them to separate beds 1.00

00:23:12.200 and beat them. Which is to say, strike back. Hashtag me too. Strike back. So this is just in the 0.99

00:23:18.780 Quran. I am just quoting the Quran. How am I quoting the Quran? Because when I was a young boy, I was I

00:23:23.960 think about 14, I read the Quran. I read the Quran before I really seriously read the Bible. Not because

00:23:30.140 I was thinking of converting to Islam, but because atheist leftists in America kept telling me that

00:23:36.100 Islam was a religion of peace and it was purely a religion of peace and it never condoned violence

00:23:41.540 and violence was against the teachings and practices of Muhammad. And I just sort of suspected

00:23:47.360 that might not be correct. I don't know. I was looking around the world. I thought maybe this isn't

00:23:52.340 the whole story. So I read the Quran and obviously you can find many, many more verses like that. But

00:23:57.380 you don't just have to look to the Quran. You can look to the life of Muhammad. Muhammad was a conqueror.

00:24:03.060 He was a warlord. He was a warrior. Muhammad personally led troops in battles where a thousand

00:24:09.180 people were killed. This is not, he would lead the slaying of whole tribes of people, whole tribes of

00:24:16.460 people around the Middle East. It is true at various points in his life, especially in the early portion

00:24:20.520 of his life, he talked a very good game on peacefulness. He did this because he was constantly

00:24:25.640 under siege. At the later periods of his life, Muhammad dropped a lot of that peace talk and

00:24:31.500 became much more aggressive in his personal actions and in his religion that he created. So why on earth 0.98

00:24:38.780 would the New York Times fall for this nonsense that Muhammad never struck anybody back? He turned 0.99

00:24:45.260 to the other cheek is basically what they're saying. It's because of the secular Western impulse to turn

00:24:51.840 Muhammad into Jesus Christ. It's because of the secular Western impulse to pretend that Islam is 0.98

00:24:59.260 really Christianity. Because of the religion that defines our civilization is Christianity. And sometime 0.71

00:25:06.020 in the modern era, we rejected our religion and we said that religion is wrong and it's superstition 1.00

00:25:11.780 and it's hocus pocus and it's ridiculous. And we reacted against that religion and we made the huge 0.98

00:25:17.520 mistake of believing that all religions are the same. Oh, really, what's the difference between

00:25:22.720 Christianity and Islam or non-theistic religions like Buddhism or Hinduism? Oh, shucks, what's the 0.94

00:25:30.500 difference? There are major differences, but nobody in the secular West is going to take those

00:25:35.860 differences seriously because they don't take religion seriously. We should clear this up. It's a real

00:25:41.500 irony, really, that in order to sanitize the history of Islam for a Western audience, what these 0.98

00:25:50.800 left-wingers do and left-wing secular publications like the New York Times do is they turn Muhammad 0.98

00:25:56.040 into Jesus Christ. Because I thought that they hated Christianity, they don't like it, they reject

00:26:00.520 Christianity. And yet when they're trying to make a religion look good, they try to make it look like 0.98

00:26:04.040 Christianity. But there are major differences here. Ibn Hazm, who's a leading 11th century Islamic

00:26:10.000 scholar, pointed out a major, a fundamental difference between Christianity and Islam.

00:26:15.400 He showed that in the God of Islam, Allah, Allah is not even bound by his own word. He's not bound

00:26:23.900 by his own logic. Nothing would oblige him to reveal the truth to us. If it were God's will,

00:26:31.260 Allah, if it were Allah's will, we would even have to practice idolatry. It is a God of pure will.

00:26:38.340 It is a God who is only will, not intellect and will, not reason and will, but will.

00:26:45.360 This, if you want to hear a good description of this, Pope Benedict spoke about it in one of the

00:26:51.820 greatest, I think probably the single greatest speech of the 21st century, the Regensburg lecture.

00:26:58.080 And this difference is that the God of Islam is a God of pure will. The God of Christianity 0.99

00:27:02.700 is a God of will and intellect, logic and will. It is a God bound by his own logic, a God who is

00:27:13.320 logic itself. In the beginning was the Logos, and the Logos was with God, and the Logos was God,

00:27:19.100 that divine logic. That is a fundamental difference. The God of Christianity cannot make you 0.98

00:27:25.320 an idolater, and would not that you would be an idolater. It is will and intellect and desire

00:27:33.400 all together. Dante writes about this, where what one can do and what one wills are exactly united in

00:27:42.860 the heaven and the God of Christianity. That is not the case in Islam. These distinctions tell you the 0.98

00:27:48.640 whole story. These distinctions are why horrific acts can be committed in the name of Islam with 1.00

00:27:54.940 greater justification, with greater impunity among certain religious circles. Why the founding of

00:28:01.280 Islam required the sword, and why that religion was spread by the sword. Whereas in the founding of 1.00

00:28:06.900 Christianity, it was the early Christians who were killed by the sword themselves. They were crucified

00:28:11.480 upside down, they were fed to lions, and they were named and killed. A major distinction, exactly the

00:28:17.320 opposite experience of spreading that religion. The New York Times doesn't see it. I don't know if

00:28:23.020 they're being obtuse, or if they're ignorant. Probably a little bit of both. The New York Times 0.99

00:28:26.760 is known to be both, but we shouldn't fall for it. And the next time that somebody tells you that

00:28:31.860 the New York Times doesn't spread fake news, point them to that article. I mean, really, what you could

00:28:35.560 do is open up any newspaper of the New York Times, and just point to any random article, and you would

00:28:39.880 find it. But this is a keen example of it. How an editor didn't at least question that ridiculous claim

00:28:46.660 is beyond me, but it's because probably the New York Times just doesn't have very much

00:28:51.660 dignity anymore. Okay. We've got a lot more to get to, but first, today at 5.30 Eastern,

00:28:57.000 2.30 Pacific, I will be taking all of your questions and easing your anxiety by answering

00:29:01.940 you guys live on air. Every query that has burned in your hearts will be resolved. Best of all,

00:29:07.480 it's an extra hour-long dose of little old me. Who could ask for more than that? Alicia will be

00:29:13.420 there as well. That will be lovely. This month's episode will stream live on Daily Wire's YouTube

00:29:17.180 and Facebook pages. It will be free for everyone to watch. Only subscribers can ask the questions.

00:29:23.200 If you're on dailywire.com, thank you very much. You help keep the lights on here. If you're not,

00:29:27.080 if you're on Facebook and YouTube, get over there. $10 a month, $100 for an annual membership.

00:29:31.880 You get me. You get the Andrew Klavan Show. You get the Ben Shapiro Show. You get to ask questions

00:29:35.800 in the mailbag. You get to ask questions in the conversation, which is coming up. Get your mailbag

00:29:39.060 questions in for this week, by the way, tonight or tomorrow. I'm going to do the mailbag tomorrow

00:29:43.780 because obviously we're all going to be out on Thanksgiving. So you can ask me all of your

00:29:48.120 Thanksgiving questions too. Make sure you get those in. All that really matters is the Leftist

00:29:52.140 Tears Tumblr. I don't encourage antagonizing your left-wing relatives at Thanksgiving. I don't

00:29:59.220 think this makes for a great time. It makes the pumpkin pie taste less delicious. It just is

00:30:05.260 tedious for everybody. Now, if they bring it up, if they, you know, don't, I'm not saying back down

00:30:09.540 or pretend that reality is other than it is. But if something happens, if, you know, Donald Trump

00:30:17.560 starts pardoning more turkeys and making fun of more Democrat gubernatorial candidates and the

00:30:21.900 leftist tears start flowing, you're not going to want to be at the table without your Leftist

00:30:26.560 Tears Tumblr. You need it. Otherwise, you'll drown and there's nothing that I can do to save you.

00:30:30.960 Go to dailywire.com. We'll be right back with a lot more.

00:30:35.260 Speaking of floods that will destroy the earth, Barack Obama is talking about global warming again.

00:30:49.480 Do you remember Barack Obama? He's back. I was playing this earlier. Someone came into my office.

00:30:54.800 They said, who is that? Who is that guy? Why is that guy still talking? Shouldn't he have stopped

00:30:59.200 talking a while ago? Probably he should have, but he didn't. He's off on global warming, but then he's

00:31:03.780 using global warming to attack Donald Trump because he is a very disrespectful person. Here is Barack

00:31:11.140 Obama rambling on and on and on. The reason we don't do it is because

00:31:16.340 we are still confused, blind, shrouded with hate, anger, racism, mommy issues.

00:31:35.380 That's it. That's why. That's why we're not raising carbon taxes. That's why we're not

00:31:43.640 destroying the global economy over the sun monster that's going to kill us all. That's

00:31:50.360 why we're not signing on to the Paris Climate Agreement, even though we are fulfilling all

00:31:54.700 of the criteria of the Paris Climate Agreement and the signatories to that agreement are failing

00:31:59.380 to fulfill their criteria. That's why. That's the irony, by the way, in his comments. We actually

00:32:04.820 are fulfilling all of these environmental criteria. We actually are fighting the great

00:32:09.820 menace of global warming in a much more serious way than any of those periclimatist countries. 0.91

00:32:15.500 But he's really using it to take a shot at Donald Trump. He says we. He says we're not doing anything

00:32:21.760 because we might have this, we might have that. He's using we to mean Donald Trump. Donald Trump is

00:32:25.500 the leader of the country and he's saying Trump won't fight global warming. And why? Because of

00:32:30.520 racism, because we're filled with hate and because of mommy issues. Barack Obama does not get to talk

00:32:39.340 about mommy and daddy issues. Barack Obama wrote an entire self-adoring book about himself called

00:32:45.620 Dreams from My Father, titled after the father that he didn't know. Nobody gets to talk about mommy and

00:32:51.920 daddy issues when you do that, Barack. But this is the classic Obama thing. It's he pretends to be

00:33:00.080 high-minded. Michelle pretends to be high-minded. When they go low, we go high. We go high. We're so

00:33:05.920 ethereal. We're up here in this sophisticated area. And yet, whenever anybody criticizes them,

00:33:12.060 whenever they don't like what one of their opponents is doing, whenever they have an honest

00:33:15.100 disagreement and difference of opinion with somebody, they accuse that person of being a racist, 0.90

00:33:20.440 a bigot, a sexist, hateful, mean. That's all they do. And obviously, he must be very angry because

00:33:30.000 his entire legacy has been wiped out by Donald Trump. But he's making himself look even more

00:33:35.400 shallow than he did as president. A question comes up, why be so mean to Barack Obama? He doesn't

00:33:41.700 matter anymore. He's out of it. Who cares? His legacy has been erased. The reason is because these ideas

00:33:48.120 of his have consequences. They can lead to a lot of human misery, and you've got to refute them at

00:33:55.240 every chance you get. Even his health care policy, upending one-sixth of the economy, depriving people

00:34:01.800 of the doctors that they liked, increasing the cost of health care for everybody, threatening our freedom

00:34:06.920 when it comes to health care. Even that is a major threat to the country, and we have to refute these

00:34:12.860 ideas because they're going to come back. Barack Obama is not going quietly into the sunset to go

00:34:17.820 write some books and teach a class at UChicago or something. He is out there. He's trying to remain

00:34:22.980 a player. He's trying to undermine the duly elected president of the United States. He's calling half

00:34:27.440 the country hateful, awful, terrible bigots with mommy issues. And we've got to fight back. We've got to 0.96

00:34:32.400 push him back. This is exactly the same with Ocasio-Cortez. We have to fight stupid ideas.

00:34:38.880 If you missed this, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is on it again. I actually had a priest right into the 1.00

00:34:46.400 show, a very nice man, who said, Michael, I like the show, but you're too mean to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,

00:34:53.460 and you've got to watch it. You don't want to seem like you're being cruel or unnecessarily mean.

00:34:58.320 You don't want to fall into sin while you show this left-wing lunacy. And it's a good warning.

00:35:04.080 It's a good warning to keep in mind, but it is very important. It is our moral obligation

00:35:09.260 to point out Ocasio-Cortez's political idiocy at every chance we get. She is now, I think, 0.99

00:35:17.420 the youngest member elected to Congress. She speaks for a huge number of people. She is the darling of

00:35:23.480 the Democrat Party. They trot her out to fundraise. She is representing a lot of people,

00:35:27.440 and she doesn't know anything. Her head is entirely empty. It is made of air. It is such

00:35:33.640 a vacuum, I'm surprised it doesn't collapse in upon itself. If you were to fire a little

00:35:38.640 ping-pong ball in there, here's what you would hear. Maybe it would fall out her ear at some

00:35:44.700 point. She doesn't know a thing, and we have to point this out. Or the infection, the disease

00:35:50.840 of socialist ignorance and envy will spread like a poison. How do I know that she doesn't know 0.97

00:35:57.900 anything? Here's the latest nonsense that Ocasio-Cortez is spouting.

00:36:01.540 If we work our butts off to make sure that we take back all three chambers of Congress,

00:36:07.120 rather all three chambers of government, the presidency, the Senate, and the House in 2020,

00:36:11.780 2020, we can't start working in 2020. All three chambers of Congress, all three chambers of our

00:36:19.580 bicameral legislature. Now, you might say there, oh, she just misspoke. Michael, you misspeak sometimes.

00:36:25.280 Yeah, we all misspeak. Sometimes Barack Obama said there are 57 states in the country. Nobody ever

00:36:30.420 covered that. Every time George Bush sneezed, they would make him out to be a dunce. But Barack Obama 0.99

00:36:35.220 says there are 57 states. Ocasio-Cortez says that there are three chambers of our bicameral legislature

00:36:41.820 and nobody really talks about it. But she doubles down and she still got it wrong. She said, no,

00:36:48.180 no, I'm sorry. I mean the three chambers of government, you know, the White House and the

00:36:52.000 House of Representatives and the Senate. Those are not our three chambers of government. We don't have

00:36:57.320 three chambers of government. We have three branches of government and she still got those wrong. 1.00

00:37:02.160 We have the executive branch. That is the White House. That is the president. We have the

00:37:06.860 legislative branch. That is bicameral. It has the House and the Senate. And we have the judiciary,

00:37:12.940 the judicial branch. Supreme Court on top, appellate courts, federal courts, all these courts.

00:37:19.480 Three branches, bicameral legislature and a presidency and a court. Okay, that's how our government is set

00:37:28.160 up. Does Ocasio-Cortez know that? I'm skeptical. I'm skeptical that she knows that. Look, this cuts

00:37:33.800 both ways sometimes. Donald Trump, an excellent president, he once referred to bills that a judge

00:37:40.000 would sign. Was he misspeaking or has he just not spent much time analyzing the way that our

00:37:46.300 government is set up? I assume it's the latter. It's okay. What is the practical effect of that?

00:37:50.740 Not very much. What is he doing in politics? Excellent stuff. So I'll let him off the hook.

00:37:54.720 What does she want? She wants to spread the poison of socialism, destroy the greatest engine of 1.00

00:37:59.360 prosperity and peace and justice in the entire world. You don't let her get away with that.

00:38:04.300 You don't let her get away with some stupid comment because it's all charming until she's 1.00

00:38:07.760 running the government. You know, it's all charming and funny and farcical until President Ocasio-Cortez 1.00

00:38:14.420 is elected, you know, and we're at the inauguration. I don't know who her vice president

00:38:20.660 would be. I'd maybe Debbie Wasserman Schultz and then you'd have the Ocasio-Cortez-Wasserman 1.00

00:38:26.320 Schultz administration. It'd be a real mouthful. It's all funny until she's got real power. 1.00

00:38:31.000 Fortunately, she doesn't yet, but she's trying to raise it. She's protesting Nancy Pelosi. She's

00:38:36.240 going into her office. She is clearly an ambitious person and she's not intelligent and she's not 1.00

00:38:41.900 educated whatsoever. She's not knowledgeable, but she is shrewd. You don't get yourself elected

00:38:47.080 president. You don't upend a many-term incumbent if you're not politically shrewd. She is. You got

00:38:52.120 to watch her. She's a snake in the grass. She's a fraud. She's a liar. She pretends to be Jenny 1.00

00:38:56.660 from the block. She's not. She's from a ritzy suburb. She's from the richer town right next to the

00:39:01.480 town that I grew up in. You really got to watch her and we don't want to be mean to her, but you 0.79

00:39:06.220 can't let her off the hook either. Okay. All right. This is important with millennials. Millennials don't 0.71

00:39:11.240 know civics. They do not know civics. Study after study shows this. The millennials don't know 0.99

00:39:16.220 anything about civics. They did a study. They did a poll of a thousand people to see who could name

00:39:21.680 the five rights enshrined in the First Amendment. Do you know how many people got all five of them?

00:39:27.040 One. One out of a thousand. A huge proportion of them couldn't name any of the rights.

00:39:33.780 They couldn't name free speech or freedom of religion or freedom of assembly.

00:39:38.140 They couldn't name any of those. So this is a big worry. One third of American millennials think

00:39:42.240 George Bush killed more people than Joseph Stalin did. I think the majority of American millennials

00:39:48.520 have never heard of the... No, that's not true. But a huge number of American millennials have never

00:39:52.540 heard of the Holocaust. Don't know what Auschwitz is. Really scary stuff. You got to watch out when

00:39:57.840 people are ignorant. An aspect that will cut both ways, that helps to educate people, but also cuts

00:40:05.860 away at our common cultural education, is a major news story that is not really being covered.

00:40:10.240 Weird. TV is over. Video killed the TV star. Videos like this. We're not on TV right now. We're not

00:40:17.420 on linear TV. We're on the internet. We're on Facebook. We're on YouTube. Maybe you're watching

00:40:21.180 us on a TV, but it's because you're streaming it from somewhere else. You're watching it on Daily Wire.

00:40:25.420 TV is over. I obviously have a personal interest in this. I like that TV is over because it means more

00:40:30.440 people are watching this. But there's some pretty crazy political lessons here. In the third quarter of

00:40:34.640 2018, the largest number of people ever cut their subscriptions to cable and satellite television.

00:40:40.880 This has been, obviously, this trend's been going on for a long time. And analysts predicted that it

00:40:44.740 would slow down, it would stop, and then people who have TV would just maintain it. That's not

00:40:49.780 happening. It was the largest number ever in the third quarter. Cable and satellite companies lost

00:40:54.500 more than a million subscribers from July to September. Why is this? In part, it's because TV is

00:41:01.040 very overpriced. You're paying $100 a month on average. That's the average cost of a cable

00:41:06.920 subscription to watch three channels. You get a million channels, but nobody watches a million

00:41:12.560 channels. You only watch two or three, really. Maybe you watch the news. Maybe you watch sports.

00:41:17.340 And you can get sports for free on antenna TV. But the other reason for this is choice. You get

00:41:24.080 choice. How many shows do I watch? At any given time, maybe I watch two or three shows,

00:41:28.740 and I listen to podcasts or I listen to audio books or whatever. I'm not sitting there watching

00:41:36.280 the primetime lineup on NBC or something like that. We want what we want, and we can get it

00:41:40.900 through other services. This is a huge win for conservatives. More choice, more freedom. This

00:41:46.180 is an unqualified good for conservatives. The way that the left has dominated our culture

00:41:51.520 is they've force-fed us all of their tripe for years and years, and we've just had to deal with 0.53

00:41:56.940 it. Now conservatives have their own platforms. We're not in the giant soundstage over in Studio

00:42:04.060 City or something, but we're getting huge numbers, huge audiences of people who want a message that

00:42:12.800 they're not getting, who want information that they're not getting from the left-wing media. This is

00:42:17.440 an unqualified good for conservatives. It will further erode the common culture. We don't have

00:42:22.560 a lot holding us together, and now we don't watch the same sitcoms. I think in part this is caused by

00:42:27.220 greedy, corrupt, hack Hollywood that turns out a lot of trash, that politicizes their shows. 0.97

00:42:34.520 You know, there are shows that have political message, like All in the Family, for instance, 0.97

00:42:39.580 had, obviously it was largely about politics, the conservative Archie Bunker character against the

00:42:45.820 left-wing meathead character, but it used politics at least to advance the plot of the show. Now what

00:42:52.340 Hollywood does is uses the shows to advance their politics to the detriment of the entertainment.

00:42:57.320 This erosion of the common culture is a big worry because we don't have a single language in the

00:43:03.180 United States. The left doesn't want Spanish speakers to learn English, doesn't want other

00:43:09.280 immigrant groups to learn English. They don't want an official language. There's no common religious 1.00

00:43:13.080 basis in the U.S. anymore. The fastest growing group are the nuns, the religiously unaffiliated. 0.96

00:43:18.740 It's people who are spiritual but not religious. It's not that rock-solid Christian culture that the 1.00

00:43:24.840 United States once had. We are increasingly polarized politically and put greater importance

00:43:30.600 into politics, largely because of the erosion of religion and culture. So we're having that common

00:43:36.660 culture ripped apart. This is accelerating it. All I can say is this is what freedom looks like.

00:43:42.640 This is freedom. Safety, sweet, nice, all together, common culture, leave it to beaver,

00:43:49.960 which never really existed, by the way. But that idea, that's nice, but that's not freedom.

00:43:56.720 That's not when you're free to say what you want, consume what you want, explore ideas that you want.

00:44:02.120 That's not freedom. This is what freedom looks like. It's not as nostalgic. It's not this thing

00:44:09.080 that we're nostalgic for in the 1940s and 50s. Fair enough. But nostalgia is history after a few

00:44:14.200 drinks, as they say. So I'm skeptical that it ever happened. This is freedom. Conservatives should

00:44:18.440 celebrate it. Cut the cord some more. Cut, cut, cut. Go for it. Before we go, I really have to play this

00:44:24.240 clip. This was made by our own Paul Cardinal Bois and Donovan Fowler. They came up with this.

00:44:31.140 You know Paul Cardinal Bois. He would come on the show all the time. If we still had the panel,

00:44:35.900 he'd be coming on every day. They were looking at that Megyn Kelly blackface saga. Megyn Kelly

00:44:41.960 suggested that sometimes if he puts dark makeup on, it's not the end of the world. NBC summarily

00:44:47.520 fired her. Here is a PSA from Bois and Fowler on the fallout. We interrupt this program to deliver

00:44:54.220 you a special public service announcement from NBC. We at NBC care deeply about diversity and

00:45:02.620 racial sensitivity. We were appalled when Megyn Kelly recently questioned whether it's okay to

00:45:08.060 wear blackface or use dark makeup to impersonate a black person. And she made her skin look darker 1.00

00:45:13.300 than it really is. And people said that that was racist. To be clear, it has never been okay for

00:45:18.340 someone to darken their skin to appear black. Like Daryl Hammond did to play Jesse Jackson on NBC.

00:45:24.260 And like Fred Armisen did to play President Obama on NBC. And like Fred Armisen did to play Prince

00:45:29.520 on NBC. And like Fred Armisen did to play David Patterson on NBC. And like Jimmy Fallon did to play

00:45:36.320 Chris Rock on NBC. And like Ted Danson did after starring on Cheers on NBC. And before starring in

00:45:42.840 The Good Place on NBC. And like Rachel Dolezal did during an interview on NBC. We at NBC wish to

00:45:50.100 assure you that Megyn Kelly has been fired. Because at NBC, you are not allowed to discuss blackface.

00:45:56.140 You can only wear it.

00:45:57.120 The more you know, get your questions in for the conversation that's coming up today

00:46:05.440 and for the mailbag tomorrow. And I will see you, what, the conversation's coming. I'll see you in
