The Michael Knowles Show - Ep. 280 - Toxic Michael-inity

00:00:00.320 Gillette is shaving away toxic masculinity in a new ad campaign.

00:00:04.620 We will examine the true causes of toxic masculinity, toxic femininity, and everything in between.

00:00:10.760 Then, President Trump hosts a fast food feast at the White House,

00:00:15.020 Laura Loomer illegally immigrates to Nancy Pelosi's house, 0.81

00:00:18.520 and Kamala Harris pulls a Liz Warren. 1.00

00:00:20.780 I'm Michael Knowles, and this is The Michael Knowles Show.

00:02:00.400 Gillette, you've probably seen this.

00:02:02.040 Gillette has a new ad out.

00:02:04.200 I'm going to show this ad in its entirety.

00:02:06.260 You're not going to want to miss one little bit of it.

00:02:08.640 It's a new ad about toxic masculinity.

00:02:11.480 They've jumped on the social justice warrior bandwagon.

00:02:14.480 Here it is if you've missed it.

00:02:15.600 Bullying.

00:02:18.620 The Me Too movement against sexual harassment. 0.94

00:02:20.560 Toxic masculinity.

00:02:22.460 Is this the best a man can get? 0.77

00:02:24.140 The best a man can get!

00:02:27.940 Is it?

00:02:32.060 We can't hide from it.

00:02:33.660 Sexual harassment is taking over...

00:02:35.800 It's been going on far too long.

00:02:40.380 We can't laugh it off.

00:02:43.060 Who's the daddy?

00:02:43.860 What I actually think she's trying to say.

00:02:48.000 Making the same old excuses.

00:02:49.880 Boys will be boys.

00:02:51.300 Boys will be boys.

00:02:52.340 Boys will be boys.

00:02:53.360 But something finally changed.

00:02:55.500 Allegations regarding sexual assault and sexual harassment. 0.99

00:02:59.020 But she says he's a prostitute. 0.99

00:03:01.320 And there will be no going back. 1.00

00:03:05.500 Because we,

00:03:06.900 we believe in the best in men.

00:03:09.240 Men need to hold other men accountable.

00:03:12.940 Smile, sweetie.

00:03:13.860 Come on.

00:03:15.320 To say the right thing.

00:03:17.460 To act the right way.

00:03:19.720 Bro, am I cool?

00:03:20.840 Am I cool?

00:03:21.580 Some already are.

00:03:23.640 I love a child.

00:03:25.180 In ways big.

00:03:26.740 Young men.

00:03:27.960 For everyone.

00:03:28.880 And small.

00:03:30.180 I am strong.

00:03:31.520 I am strong.

00:03:34.240 But some is not enough.

00:03:37.940 It's not how we treat each other, okay?

00:03:41.480 Okay.

00:03:43.160 Because the boys watching today

00:03:45.020 will be the men of tomorrow.

00:03:52.080 Gillette.

00:03:52.660 The best a man can't get. 0.98

00:03:54.480 So this ad.

00:03:57.280 Just notice all of the subtle left-wing social justice warrior aspects to it.

00:04:03.300 Just to begin, one point that not a lot of people are talking about

00:04:06.060 is that with one exception for the first 40 seconds of the ad, 0.94

00:04:09.840 all of the bad guys are white guys. 0.94

00:04:13.020 With one exception. 0.94

00:04:13.960 There are probably 50 or 60 guys.

00:04:16.560 You know, the whole lines of guys in the cartoons and all this. 0.93

00:04:19.600 And with the exception of one bad black guy, 0.99

00:04:22.700 all of the bad guys are white guys. 0.99

00:04:25.020 And then when it turns and it's good,

00:04:27.180 virtually all of the good guys were saying,

00:04:28.980 hey, don't do that.

00:04:29.740 Be nice to this person.

00:04:30.900 Don't bully this person.

00:04:31.700 Are all not white guys.

00:04:33.940 And they did this because they are feeding into

00:04:37.280 not just a narrative about men should be nice to women.

00:04:39.980 They're feeding into an intersectional narrative.

00:04:42.820 They're feeding into the main narrative we see now on the left,

00:04:45.960 which is that there are hierarchies of victimhood

00:04:48.740 and the worst guys in the whole wide world 0.96

00:04:51.360 are the straight white men who think that they're men 0.98

00:04:54.120 and who behave like men should behave.

00:04:56.200 This comes on the heels of the American Psychological Association

00:04:59.680 saying that traditional masculinity,

00:05:03.040 you know, as opposed to that newfangled masculinity,

00:05:05.700 is harmful, it's terrible, we need to get rid of it.

00:05:09.580 So Gillette is buying into this.

00:05:11.460 I actually, I was late to the show today.

00:05:13.680 I was late getting into the studio

00:05:14.700 because I woke up and I had to take photos

00:05:18.140 of, well, me shaving before I used my Gillette razor

00:05:22.400 and then me after I used my Gillette razor.

00:05:25.120 And you can see the difference right on screen.

00:05:27.480 If you can't, you know, in the first picture,

00:05:29.440 I'm wearing a wife beater, you know, I'm kind of,

00:05:32.700 that's just what they call it.

00:05:34.180 It's a men's undershirt.

00:05:35.260 That's just the phrase.

00:05:36.120 Talk about toxic.

00:05:37.200 And, you know, my hair is askew.

00:05:38.720 I'm smoking a cigar and drinking scotch at seven in the morning.

00:05:42.020 And then, but after I used that Gillette,

00:05:44.080 oh, it was just amazing.

00:05:46.160 I transformed into a plaid onesie.

00:05:49.520 I had a little teacup with a little lemon drop on the side

00:05:53.300 and I just, I felt so much better, you know.

00:05:54.940 So, clearly this product is working.

00:05:58.800 The initial response to this is what self-respecting man

00:06:02.700 is going to buy a razor for a company that is lecturing 0.97

00:06:06.640 and scolding men with this ridiculous caricature of masculinity, 0.83

00:06:12.040 which is buying this line, hook, line, and sinker, 0.96

00:06:14.240 that masculinity is a bad thing. 0.97

00:06:16.960 Fair enough.

00:06:17.880 I do think it will hurt them in the long run.

00:06:19.920 But what Gillette is doing is they're looking around,

00:06:23.220 especially at Nike,

00:06:24.620 and they're saying Nike,

00:06:26.060 by embracing radical leftism,

00:06:28.200 by embracing Colin Kaepernick as their spokesman,

00:06:31.180 by embracing these anti-American, anti-traditional politics,

00:06:35.840 they got a short-term gain,

00:06:38.000 at least a short-term gain,

00:06:39.740 in sales, profits, market share.

00:06:43.380 You know, they've actually done pretty well

00:06:45.320 as a result of that campaign.

00:06:46.880 And Gillette is looking at that

00:06:48.060 and they're saying that right now,

00:06:49.760 in the sort of normal society,

00:06:52.280 politics is downstream of culture,

00:06:53.760 culture is downstream of religion.

00:06:55.420 But in this weird society that we're in now,

00:06:57.500 it's like a snake eating its own tail.

00:06:59.400 Politics is still downstream of culture,

00:07:01.080 but then culture is downstream of politics

00:07:02.780 in a way that the left is totally inverted.

00:07:05.860 So they look to the politics,

00:07:07.260 not just as their culture,

00:07:08.480 but as their God.

00:07:09.520 And they're saying,

00:07:10.280 okay, well, if that's the case,

00:07:12.280 then we need to infuse our advertisements with politics.

00:07:16.800 Now, it's a little weird for Gillette,

00:07:17.920 because Gillette is a company for men.

00:07:20.000 Men skew more conservative than women.

00:07:22.640 We'll see if this pays off for them in the end.

00:07:25.320 The idea of it itself, though,

00:07:26.780 is just so wrong.

00:07:29.060 Because I've seen even a couple of conservatives

00:07:31.740 on Twitter say,

00:07:32.640 oh, I don't really see what's wrong with the ad. 0.99

00:07:34.640 They're just saying men shouldn't be jerks. 1.00

00:07:37.360 They're not saying that men shouldn't be jerks. 1.00

00:07:39.400 They're saying that men are jerks. 1.00

00:07:42.000 It's not just that men should be nicer, 1.00

00:07:43.800 men should be more polite.

00:07:44.780 Sure, yeah, of course.

00:07:45.540 What they're saying is that men,

00:07:47.900 by their very nature, 0.71

00:07:50.060 are awful. 1.00

00:07:51.200 They're worse than women. 1.00

00:07:53.100 They're just bad people 1.00

00:07:55.060 who do bad things.

00:07:57.160 And further what they're saying,

00:07:59.060 by using these extreme examples,

00:08:00.780 so they use these kids,

00:08:01.720 a little roughhousing.

00:08:02.800 Kids are wrestling on the ground,

00:08:04.320 kind of smacking each other.

00:08:05.780 And in the bad olden days,

00:08:08.360 when people were using Gillette,

00:08:09.920 then that was just boys will be boys.

00:08:12.260 So it's not a big deal.

00:08:13.020 But now in the good days,

00:08:14.480 where Gillette is the new feminist shaving company,

00:08:17.660 then the father goes in and he says,

00:08:18.900 no, we don't roughhouse. 0.83

00:08:20.760 No, we don't do that.

00:08:22.900 This is the way to raise the worst kind of men.

00:08:27.320 If you tell boys not to stick up for themselves,

00:08:31.520 not to roughhouse every once in a while,

00:08:33.760 not to be able to take a punch every once in a while,

00:08:36.020 they are going to be so weak.

00:08:37.620 They are going to be so embittered.

00:08:39.840 They are going to be so stressed and anxious

00:08:42.260 and depressed and catty and miserable

00:08:45.460 that they're going to look like young men do 1.00

00:08:47.920 in our current society.

00:08:48.840 Because that's exactly what happened.

00:08:50.380 You had a generation of men raised broadly

00:08:53.000 with the self-esteem movement,

00:08:55.260 with anti-masculinity or toxic masculinity,

00:08:58.600 with feminism as the dominant gender ideology 0.97

00:09:02.480 of their youth.

00:09:04.080 And what has this raised?

00:09:05.560 It's raised not a generation of polite,

00:09:08.140 wonderful, chivalrous gentlemen.

00:09:09.940 It's raised a generation where we now have, 0.97

00:09:12.560 allegedly, according to the left,

00:09:14.040 a rape epidemic on campus.

00:09:16.120 We now have women claiming to be abused 0.53

00:09:18.740 in all forms of industries,

00:09:20.180 obviously in show business and elsewhere.

00:09:22.780 You raise men without any of the virtues.

00:09:26.420 What they are saying now is that masculinity is toxic.

00:09:31.560 In reality, manliness is a virtue.

00:09:34.680 In fact, it's not just a virtue.

00:09:36.700 It's what virtue means.

00:09:38.260 Virtue, virtu, comes from Latin, from vir,

00:09:42.160 which means man.

00:09:44.000 And virtue means moral uprightness,

00:09:46.900 doing the right thing.

00:09:49.300 This, as the left always does,

00:09:51.600 they have flipped this.

00:09:52.680 They have totally perverted this.

00:09:54.200 And they want you to believe that vice is virtue

00:09:56.160 and virtue is vice. 0.97

00:09:57.440 The way you know this is also ridiculous 0.84

00:09:59.140 because nobody's denying that certain primarily male attributes, 0.57

00:10:04.660 masculine attributes,

00:10:06.360 can be perverted and taken to a bad place.

00:10:09.300 So courage can be turned into aggression or bullying

00:10:12.580 or recklessness or whatever.

00:10:14.700 It can be turned into any of those things.

00:10:17.640 But isn't that true of every other group?

00:10:20.200 What about femininity? 1.00

00:10:21.140 Why don't we talk about toxic femininity? 1.00

00:10:23.860 If I came out and I talked about toxic femininity, 0.72

00:10:27.480 I would be labeled a bigot or a sexist 0.81

00:10:29.700 or a misogynist or whatever.

00:10:31.240 A friend of mine posted on Facebook the other day,

00:10:35.260 it was a picture and she said,

00:10:37.080 you know, I've been stopping mansplainers

00:10:40.160 for a very long time.

00:10:41.800 It was her giving a talk and it said,

00:10:43.660 I'm stopping mansplainers.

00:10:44.960 What if I posted a picture of myself

00:10:46.840 at one of my college talks

00:10:48.020 and I said,

00:10:48.720 I've been shutting up women since 2016 or 2012, 1.00

00:10:52.340 whatever.

00:10:52.880 Would that look good?

00:10:53.620 Would that be a good look?

00:10:54.400 No, of course not.

00:10:55.300 And it doesn't work when women do it either. 1.00

00:10:57.960 By the way,

00:10:58.640 what Gillette is about to learn

00:11:00.100 is it's actually already coming out right now.

00:11:02.960 I think it was Fast Company

00:11:04.140 published a headline after this advertisement.

00:11:08.320 It said,

00:11:08.920 Gillette targets toxic masculinity in a new campaign

00:11:12.360 but still advertises on Fox News.

00:11:15.900 And what the idea here is,

00:11:21.420 is that Gillette is pretending

00:11:24.380 or they're at least feigning

00:11:26.080 to be this social justice warrior company now.

00:11:30.440 This is their new marketing flip

00:11:31.680 but they're not totally social justice warriors.

00:11:34.900 They're still advertising with Fox News.

00:11:37.700 They don't advertise on our show

00:11:39.160 but they advertise on a right-wing network

00:11:42.340 or a vaguely conservative network

00:11:44.620 and this is very bad.

00:11:45.900 The lesson here is that

00:11:48.380 you will rue the day

00:11:51.000 when you grant the left's premises.

00:11:53.500 Even if the premises are seemingly convenient

00:11:57.900 or expedient

00:11:59.040 or you think,

00:11:59.700 oh, it'd be just so easy

00:12:01.240 if I just accept this premise,

00:12:03.960 they'll stop bothering me. 0.98

00:12:05.080 Okay, men, masculinity is toxic. 0.99

00:12:08.000 You should all be feminists. 1.00

00:12:09.260 The minute you grant that premise 0.91

00:12:10.900 like a snake eating its own tail,

00:12:12.700 they will devour you. 0.97

00:12:14.520 They'll say you grant that premise

00:12:15.580 but it's not good enough.

00:12:16.640 It's not social justice-y enough.

00:12:18.460 It's not leftist enough.

00:12:19.500 It's not this.

00:12:20.160 And this is really gonna come at Gillette.

00:12:23.300 It doesn't stop.

00:12:24.180 This happened in Hollywood.

00:12:25.620 The minute that,

00:12:26.780 and actually it's happened in the Me Too movement.

00:12:30.120 When these guys,

00:12:30.940 a lot of whom are pretty bad hombres in Hollywood,

00:12:33.520 admit that they did something wrong

00:12:35.100 or they say maybe I should wear the little bracelet

00:12:37.200 or the pin that says time's up,

00:12:38.940 they immediately,

00:12:39.820 it just cascades.

00:12:40.900 It's an avalanche.

00:12:42.740 Gillette, I hope,

00:12:44.140 discovers that

00:12:44.780 because it's a very bad thing.

00:12:46.500 It's a horrible message.

00:12:47.820 It's a horrible message in part

00:12:49.200 because it's convincing 1.00

00:12:50.580 to ignorant and shallow people 0.99

00:12:52.520 but manliness is a virtue. 0.98

00:12:54.760 Manliness is where we get the word virtue

00:12:56.780 and we should defend that

00:12:57.900 against these straw man absurd attacks.

00:13:01.520 Now, let me invite you into my boudoir,

00:13:03.740 speaking of toxic masculinity, 0.99

00:13:05.400 and talk about one of my favorites,

00:13:07.620 Purple Mattress.

00:13:08.900 You know that I am a proselytizer

00:13:10.760 for Purple Mattress. 0.99

00:13:12.220 I kid you not.

00:13:14.240 I'm not saying this

00:13:15.060 because I'm doing an advertisement for them.

00:13:17.360 Almost every night,

00:13:18.420 I get into bed with sweet little Alisa

00:13:20.040 and we say,

00:13:20.620 ah, I love our Purple Mattress.

00:13:22.600 So this is really the perk

00:13:23.640 of working at the Daily Wire.

00:13:24.940 They haven't paid me in years and years

00:13:26.960 but at the very least,

00:13:28.240 I get my cool Purple Mattress.

00:13:29.540 It is the best bed I've ever slept on.

00:13:31.160 I simply love it.

00:13:32.200 It's different than a memory foam.

00:13:33.680 It's different than an innerspring.

00:13:35.960 It's this technology

00:13:37.280 developed by a rocket scientist.

00:13:38.880 It feels both firm and soft.

00:13:40.280 I know that sounds contradictory.

00:13:41.560 It's not.

00:13:42.160 It's just the best.

00:13:43.340 It feels great.

00:13:44.220 I snooze my alarm 20,000 times in the morning

00:13:46.500 because I don't want to get out of bed.

00:13:47.840 It's that great.

00:13:49.580 It also sleeps pretty cool

00:13:51.040 because of this material.

00:13:53.620 So you're not going to be hotter

00:13:54.720 than you want to be

00:13:55.560 which happens with some mattresses.

00:13:57.500 You get a 100-night risk-free trial.

00:13:59.180 If you're not fully satisfied,

00:14:00.220 you can return it for a full refund.

00:14:01.500 You won't return it.

00:14:02.260 Back by 10-year warranty,

00:14:03.220 free shipping and returns.

00:14:04.500 Do yourself a favor.

00:14:05.660 Get this mattress.

00:14:06.480 It's just phenomenal.

00:14:07.500 You're going to love it.

00:14:08.100 Right now, my listeners,

00:14:08.760 get a free Purple Pillow

00:14:09.560 with the purchase of a mattress.

00:14:10.760 That's in addition to the great free gifts

00:14:12.200 they're offering site-wide.

00:14:13.480 Just do this right now.

00:14:14.700 Text COFEPE.

00:14:15.400 C-O-V-F-E-F-E to 474747.

00:14:18.400 That's the only way to get this free pillow.

00:14:20.800 Text COFEPE.

00:14:21.640 C-O-V-F-E-F-E to 474747.

00:14:24.820 C-O-V-F-E-F-E to 474747.

00:14:28.300 Message and data rates may apply.

00:14:31.880 Speaking of toxic masculinity, 0.99

00:14:34.060 I'll illustrate this point a little bit

00:14:35.860 by looking at some rhinos

00:14:37.120 in the sad, sad case of John Kasich.

00:14:39.920 John Kasich,

00:14:41.480 now that he's leaving

00:14:42.420 the Ohio Governor's Mansion,

00:14:43.800 is joining CNN.

00:14:45.940 Surprising,

00:14:46.680 exactly,

00:14:47.820 not a single person on earth.

00:14:49.360 He's joining CNN, 1.00

00:14:50.680 and he is a pathetic politician. 1.00

00:14:52.880 He is truly pathetic. 1.00

00:14:54.340 He started out, 1.00

00:14:55.900 John Kasich,

00:14:56.680 as a pretty right-wing politician,

00:15:00.000 pretty right-wing governor.

00:15:01.400 He was a member of Congress,

00:15:03.520 budget committee,

00:15:04.400 he was a fiscal hawk,

00:15:07.080 pretty rock-ribbed.

00:15:08.180 I really liked him.

00:15:09.400 I was hoping he would run for president

00:15:10.700 in 2016,

00:15:12.060 back when he was old John Kasich.

00:15:14.000 And then he became

00:15:15.120 this virtue-signaling,

00:15:17.300 leftist, 1.00

00:15:18.160 awful politician. 0.95

00:15:19.340 There was a great piece today 0.80

00:15:20.280 in the Washington Examiner

00:15:21.280 called

00:15:21.560 John Kasich Exits Stage Left

00:15:24.280 by Jason Hart.

00:15:26.060 What is his legacy?

00:15:27.300 This is my defense

00:15:30.360 of manliness,

00:15:32.940 of being manly

00:15:33.660 and not being a weak, 0.98

00:15:34.940 wimpy rhino 0.99

00:15:37.100 like John Kasich. 0.97

00:15:38.460 He's leaving

00:15:39.180 the Ohio Governor's Mansion

00:15:40.160 with super majorities

00:15:41.160 in both houses

00:15:42.020 of the Ohio General Assembly.

00:15:43.960 And yet,

00:15:44.600 the fiscal hawk

00:15:45.320 is leaving

00:15:45.680 with the highest government spending

00:15:47.100 ever.

00:15:48.260 Medicaid enrollment

00:15:49.120 way up,

00:15:50.200 low private sector

00:15:51.440 job growth

00:15:52.220 lower than the national average

00:15:53.620 for a long part of his tenure.

00:15:55.520 He also,

00:15:56.220 he was running against

00:15:57.020 the unions and the pensions.

00:15:58.880 He's leaving

00:15:59.460 with some of the worst

00:16:00.600 union laws in the country,

00:16:02.460 one of the worst

00:16:03.140 municipal tax systems,

00:16:04.960 and some of the worst

00:16:06.220 unfunded liabilities

00:16:07.340 in the nation.

00:16:08.060 So all of those

00:16:08.700 entitlement and pension programs

00:16:11.280 are really awful.

00:16:12.660 What happened to this guy?

00:16:14.680 He exhibited

00:16:15.440 true toxic masculinity,

00:16:17.820 which is wimpiness,

00:16:19.420 which is self-interest.

00:16:21.940 John Kasich

00:16:22.820 only knows about

00:16:24.180 numero uno.

00:16:25.260 He doesn't

00:16:26.320 seem to put

00:16:27.020 his ideas first

00:16:28.040 or his constituents first.

00:16:29.480 He's only in it

00:16:30.620 for himself,

00:16:31.300 I think is the reason

00:16:32.060 why he turned out

00:16:33.360 so bad.

00:16:34.560 And he's clearly

00:16:35.280 gotten bad advice.

00:16:36.360 I mean,

00:16:36.560 this was a decision.

00:16:39.120 When he was first running,

00:16:40.500 he said,

00:16:41.000 I was Tea Party

00:16:41.960 before there was

00:16:42.680 a Tea Party.

00:16:43.560 He was running

00:16:44.400 to the right,

00:16:45.140 and then he got

00:16:45.660 bad advice.

00:16:47.800 Some people told him

00:16:49.000 to turn left,

00:16:50.320 that that was going to be

00:16:51.180 his path

00:16:52.060 to more political power,

00:16:53.240 and he sold

00:16:54.320 his political soul

00:16:55.420 for nothing.

00:16:56.460 Because that's what happens

00:16:57.400 when you sell

00:16:57.880 your political soul,

00:16:58.820 is you get nothing.

00:16:59.840 It's a bad investment.

00:17:01.320 Read a book.

00:17:02.460 Read history.

00:17:03.720 Read the Bible.

00:17:05.100 So,

00:17:05.740 what is this

00:17:07.820 toxic masculinity 0.68

00:17:08.680 paired up?

00:17:09.600 It's a pairing

00:17:10.300 of pure self-interest

00:17:12.000 and ambition.

00:17:15.100 You've got to be

00:17:15.980 really wary about this.

00:17:17.280 Because I think

00:17:20.000 this is how leftism

00:17:20.940 spreads in our culture,

00:17:22.700 is people are

00:17:24.140 purely self-interested

00:17:25.680 and they're very ambitious,

00:17:27.520 and so they're willing

00:17:28.200 to make a deal

00:17:28.780 with the devil.

00:17:29.560 They're willing to say,

00:17:30.340 well, you know,

00:17:31.260 look,

00:17:32.220 if I speak the truth,

00:17:33.640 if I say that men

00:17:34.380 aren't women, 1.00

00:17:35.440 if I say that up

00:17:37.480 is not down,

00:17:38.400 if I say that

00:17:39.460 unborn baby

00:17:41.060 is not just

00:17:42.220 medical tissue,

00:17:44.200 as some activists

00:17:45.900 are saying today,

00:17:46.920 if I say that,

00:17:48.000 it will hurt my career,

00:17:49.300 I might not make

00:17:49.940 as much money,

00:17:50.680 I might not be

00:17:51.140 as popular at the parties,

00:17:52.920 maybe I won't be

00:17:53.980 as cool,

00:17:54.600 I won't be such

00:17:55.080 a cool guy,

00:17:55.760 and so they make

00:17:56.500 these little tiny

00:17:57.260 concessions.

00:17:58.600 They make these

00:17:59.220 little social concessions

00:18:00.380 and what happens?

00:18:01.480 The culture is

00:18:02.220 utterly transformed

00:18:03.460 by wimps.

00:18:04.920 Even guys on the right,

00:18:06.060 you'll see this sometimes,

00:18:07.160 I mean,

00:18:07.320 this is the classic example

00:18:08.520 of the Republican

00:18:09.920 but not that kind

00:18:10.680 of Republican.

00:18:11.580 It's those guys

00:18:12.460 who you say,

00:18:13.460 oh, you're a conservative

00:18:14.280 and they say,

00:18:14.860 yes, I'm a conservative,

00:18:15.460 but I'm much more

00:18:16.160 interested in you

00:18:16.660 liking me

00:18:17.100 than being conservative

00:18:17.820 or advancing my ideas.

00:18:18.680 I'm not that kind

00:18:19.140 of a conservative.

00:18:20.640 That's what they say.

00:18:21.420 And I say,

00:18:21.840 you know,

00:18:22.320 look, I get it.

00:18:23.380 I remember I've gone

00:18:24.460 through political

00:18:25.020 evolutions in my life.

00:18:27.100 Certainly,

00:18:27.740 I was less conservative

00:18:29.340 in my youth

00:18:31.220 when I was sowing

00:18:32.300 my wild oats

00:18:33.120 than I am now.

00:18:34.080 I get it.

00:18:34.800 There's a huge

00:18:35.260 social pressure

00:18:36.060 on campuses

00:18:36.940 in corporate America

00:18:37.980 in the halls of Congress

00:18:39.260 to not be

00:18:40.540 a real conservative guy,

00:18:42.360 to not say

00:18:42.980 what you think.

00:18:44.080 You might be unpopular,

00:18:45.180 you might sound

00:18:46.640 out of fashion.

00:18:48.840 Just stick to it.

00:18:50.000 Otherwise,

00:18:50.520 you're left with nothing.

00:18:52.700 I think,

00:18:53.120 who was it?

00:18:53.660 It was Dean Inge

00:18:54.560 who said,

00:18:55.760 the man who marries himself

00:18:57.460 to the spirit of the age

00:18:58.680 will find himself

00:18:59.460 a widow in the next.

00:19:01.160 And that's what's

00:19:01.780 happening right now.

00:19:02.540 John Kasich is mourning

00:19:03.600 the death

00:19:04.300 of his political career.

00:19:05.720 He really could have been

00:19:06.560 a contender in 2016

00:19:07.700 if he had remained

00:19:08.440 a conservative

00:19:09.000 and a Republican.

00:19:10.080 He now thinks

00:19:10.780 he's going to primary

00:19:11.500 Donald Trump in 2020.

00:19:13.440 Good luck, pal.

00:19:14.280 Great.

00:19:14.620 I hope he does.

00:19:15.620 I think it'll really

00:19:16.660 unify the base

00:19:17.800 around Donald Trump 0.95

00:19:18.640 to see this wimp, 1.00

00:19:20.300 this pathetic failure 1.00

00:19:21.260 of a politician 1.00

00:19:22.080 go out

00:19:23.560 and run his mouth

00:19:24.940 about what?

00:19:25.680 What is he fighting for?

00:19:27.320 All the things

00:19:27.980 he was fighting for,

00:19:28.860 he betrayed.

00:19:29.980 So he's just fighting

00:19:30.920 for his own pride.

00:19:32.700 And that's what it is.

00:19:33.660 It's pride.

00:19:34.400 It's not just

00:19:34.820 John Kasich you see this in.

00:19:36.100 You see this with

00:19:36.720 an old GOP operative

00:19:38.100 named Steve Schmidt

00:19:38.960 who's now left

00:19:40.240 of Vladimir Lenin

00:19:41.300 and running

00:19:42.160 to make the people

00:19:43.040 at MSNBC like him.

00:19:44.440 Please like me,

00:19:45.360 like me, guys.

00:19:46.560 Here he is on MSNBC

00:19:47.540 talking about

00:19:48.120 Trump's Oval Office speech.

00:19:50.220 And you consider

00:19:51.620 that speech,

00:19:52.420 what a powerful argument

00:19:53.840 it makes

00:19:54.760 against the theory

00:19:56.880 of evolution

00:19:57.640 as we look

00:19:58.760 at the continuing

00:19:59.580 debasement

00:20:00.300 of the office

00:20:01.020 of the presidency

00:20:02.400 of the United States.

00:20:03.620 We saw from Trump today 0.87

00:20:05.620 the typical lying, 0.96

00:20:07.440 the racial demagoguery, 0.98

00:20:09.500 the nonsense,

00:20:10.540 the spinning of crises

00:20:12.160 out of whole cloth.

00:20:13.640 They will reopen

00:20:14.560 the government.

00:20:15.500 And at that point,

00:20:17.020 what will become clear

00:20:18.120 is that even

00:20:18.980 the Republican minority

00:20:21.020 in the House,

00:20:21.760 the Republican majority

00:20:22.760 in the Senate

00:20:23.360 will have joined

00:20:24.500 every world leader,

00:20:26.360 most of the American people

00:20:27.800 as a group

00:20:29.360 who do not take

00:20:30.580 this man seriously

00:20:31.820 at all.

00:20:32.620 They look at him

00:20:33.840 as a joke, 0.98

00:20:34.760 a clown, 0.97

00:20:35.460 and a farce. 0.98

00:20:36.500 A joke, 0.90

00:20:37.340 a clown, 0.97

00:20:37.680 and a farce. 0.99

00:20:38.240 Don't take him seriously

00:20:39.220 at all.

00:20:39.600 I think Steve Schmidt

00:20:40.220 is projecting.

00:20:41.120 I think he was looking

00:20:42.740 at a mirror

00:20:43.220 and thought that he was

00:20:44.060 looking in at an

00:20:44.720 Oval Office speech.

00:20:45.860 This is a man

00:20:46.560 who worked for John McCain.

00:20:47.760 He worked for George W. Bush.

00:20:49.300 And so he does come

00:20:50.420 from the more squishy wing

00:20:52.520 of the Republican Party.

00:20:54.380 It's not, you know,

00:20:55.160 like he was going out there

00:20:57.040 marching in the Reagan Revolution.

00:20:58.460 He's a little young for that.

00:20:59.780 He wasn't a founding member

00:21:01.020 of the Tea Party

00:21:01.840 or anything like that either.

00:21:03.180 But just to illustrate

00:21:04.760 what a squish, 0.99

00:21:06.600 what moral weakness,

00:21:08.740 what toxicity

00:21:09.440 this displays.

00:21:10.800 This guy,

00:21:11.700 Steve Schmidt,

00:21:12.300 left the Republican Party.

00:21:13.620 He finally left

00:21:14.320 the Republican Party.

00:21:15.480 And it's being talked about

00:21:16.900 as though he left it

00:21:17.680 specifically over Trump.

00:21:19.220 But it wasn't just

00:21:20.280 Donald Trump.

00:21:21.080 The reason that Steve Schmidt

00:21:22.500 left the Republican Party

00:21:23.980 specifically

00:21:24.660 is because Donald Trump

00:21:26.680 kept his campaign promise,

00:21:29.040 which was the campaign promise

00:21:30.560 of Barack Obama.

00:21:32.080 It was the campaign promise

00:21:32.860 of George W. Bush

00:21:33.860 to move the U.S. Embassy

00:21:36.500 in Israel

00:21:37.260 to the capital of Israel,

00:21:39.100 which is Jerusalem.

00:21:41.020 When Donald Trump did that,

00:21:42.720 not when he lied,

00:21:44.100 not when he said something

00:21:45.180 racially insensitive,

00:21:46.780 not when he exceeded

00:21:48.180 his powers of the executive,

00:21:50.320 when Donald Trump

00:21:51.720 kept his promise

00:21:53.420 and the promise

00:21:54.920 of Steve Schmidt's own boss,

00:21:56.700 who didn't keep that promise.

00:21:57.880 That was what made

00:21:59.000 Steve Schmidt

00:21:59.600 leave the Republican Party

00:22:01.380 because he would prefer 0.98

00:22:02.840 wimpy, girly men 0.99

00:22:05.640 who lie, 0.99

00:22:06.340 who don't keep their word

00:22:07.300 because it's nice

00:22:08.040 and it's polite.

00:22:09.020 And that way,

00:22:10.120 a group of people

00:22:12.260 in the Middle East

00:22:13.400 who elected Hamas

00:22:14.640 to represent them,

00:22:16.080 who elected a terrorist group

00:22:17.520 to represent them,

00:22:18.440 maybe then they'll like

00:22:19.420 Steve Schmidt.

00:22:20.220 See, guys, I'm cool.

00:22:21.540 I'm not that harsh

00:22:22.360 on terrorism.

00:22:23.440 Don't you like me?

00:22:24.420 Like me, please. 0.99

00:22:25.100 It's pathetic. 0.99

00:22:26.300 It's pathetic. 1.00

00:22:26.920 And it comes from pride. 1.00

00:22:29.360 It ultimately comes from pride

00:22:31.320 because this guy

00:22:32.920 just needs to be liked.

00:22:34.400 You've got to be

00:22:34.900 a little careful

00:22:35.580 about politicians

00:22:37.940 who are desperate

00:22:39.340 to be liked,

00:22:40.480 who want, look,

00:22:41.400 a little bit of

00:22:43.220 seeking out the applause

00:22:46.000 and seeking out crowds,

00:22:47.520 that is a professional hazard

00:22:49.580 of politics

00:22:50.340 and show business.

00:22:52.260 It's a requirement

00:22:53.220 of it, really.

00:22:53.880 But you've got to

00:22:55.460 differentiate between

00:22:56.340 the people

00:22:56.760 who are willing

00:22:57.500 to say tough things

00:22:58.540 and don't care

00:22:59.600 if, you know,

00:23:00.560 the crowds around them

00:23:01.720 don't like them

00:23:02.680 and the people

00:23:04.040 who are willing

00:23:04.480 to change what they say

00:23:05.720 to any given audience

00:23:07.140 no matter how

00:23:08.160 the political winds turn.

00:23:10.020 That's the difference.

00:23:10.880 I mean, you look at

00:23:11.500 somebody like Mitt Romney

00:23:12.680 and any room he talks to

00:23:14.380 and any different day

00:23:15.460 of the week

00:23:15.760 that he talks to,

00:23:16.340 he says something different.

00:23:17.520 He's trying to appeal to them.

00:23:18.680 He's so desperate

00:23:19.320 for their affection.

00:23:20.420 It comes from a pride

00:23:21.640 and it comes from

00:23:22.860 a ruthless ambition.

00:23:24.320 That's truly toxic.

00:23:25.560 But that has nothing

00:23:26.220 to do with manliness.

00:23:27.480 Steve Schmidt,

00:23:28.060 that's not a manly man. 0.87

00:23:29.340 That's a weak guy 0.90

00:23:31.080 taking pot shots

00:23:32.280 because he's betrayed

00:23:33.460 his own principles

00:23:34.380 and he's left with nothing.

00:23:35.580 He's left with nothing

00:23:36.920 but the corpse

00:23:37.520 of his political career.

00:23:38.560 Same as John Kasich.

00:23:39.760 We will get to

00:23:40.660 a good version of masculinity.

00:23:42.640 Probably Gillette

00:23:43.180 wouldn't like it very much,

00:23:44.540 but I certainly liked it.

00:23:45.880 The Donald Trump

00:23:46.800 fast food summit,

00:23:48.580 the fast food feast

00:23:49.480 at the White House

00:23:50.020 last night with Clemson.

00:23:50.840 We'll get to Laura Loomer

00:23:52.060 illegally immigrating

00:23:53.840 to Nancy Pelosi's house.

00:23:55.540 2020 Kamala Harris campaign.

00:23:58.040 And then if we have time,

00:23:58.700 we'll talk about Steve King.

00:23:59.520 But first,

00:24:00.700 I have got to say goodbye

00:24:01.880 to Facebook and YouTube.

00:24:02.940 And by the way,

00:24:03.680 this Friday,

00:24:04.460 this is a really important event.

00:24:06.700 Ben Shapiro,

00:24:07.780 the big boss himself,

00:24:08.740 will be taking his show

00:24:10.340 on the road to

00:24:11.580 the March for Life in D.C.

00:24:15.280 He will be doing his show

00:24:16.440 from the March for Life.

00:24:17.640 It's going to be very cool.

00:24:18.620 10 a.m. Eastern.

00:24:19.440 He'll be live streaming

00:24:20.320 at the National Mall

00:24:21.200 and 12th Street.

00:24:22.760 So if you are planning

00:24:23.980 to be at the March,

00:24:25.220 head over there

00:24:25.940 and see him in person.

00:24:27.620 It's going to be really cool.

00:24:29.020 Unfortunately,

00:24:29.400 I'm going to be stuck here in L.A.

00:24:30.560 because someone's got to

00:24:31.460 keep an eye on the shop

00:24:32.340 while the boss is out of town.

00:24:34.100 You know,

00:24:34.340 someone's got to smoke cigars

00:24:35.540 in everyone's studios

00:24:36.380 and offices.

00:24:37.080 So I'll have to be here.

00:24:38.060 If I could be there,

00:24:38.780 I would.

00:24:39.080 If you're around town,

00:24:40.380 do not miss it.

00:24:41.200 It is going to be fabulous.

00:24:42.380 If you're on Facebook

00:24:43.160 and YouTube,

00:24:43.600 go to dailywire.com.

00:24:45.100 $10 a month,

00:24:45.860 $100 for an annual membership.

00:24:47.580 You get me,

00:24:48.120 you get the Andrew Klavan show,

00:24:48.880 you get the Ben Shapiro show,

00:24:49.660 you get the Matt Wall show,

00:24:50.760 you get to ask questions

00:24:51.420 in the mailbag,

00:24:51.980 get them in.

00:24:52.340 That's coming up on Thursday.

00:24:53.940 You get to ask questions

00:24:55.380 in backstage.

00:24:56.240 We were doing that

00:24:56.780 a lot more these days.

00:24:58.220 You will get to see

00:24:59.680 another kingdom.

00:25:00.200 You'll get everything.

00:25:01.500 And you'll get this.

00:25:03.220 You will get

00:25:04.120 the leftist tears tumbler.

00:25:06.600 And this is very important

00:25:07.700 because, you know,

00:25:10.140 sometimes when people shave,

00:25:11.680 they use water,

00:25:12.900 you know,

00:25:13.380 they use a faucet,

00:25:14.380 maybe they use shaving cream.

00:25:15.980 But if you have

00:25:16.400 the leftist tears tumbler,

00:25:17.800 you can just pour

00:25:18.420 those salty leftist tears

00:25:19.760 all over your face. 0.93

00:25:21.100 And it's the perfect aftershave.

00:25:23.120 It stings a little bit

00:25:24.060 because of how salty it is.

00:25:25.800 But it just gives you

00:25:27.120 a beautiful scent

00:25:28.200 all the rest of the day.

00:25:29.400 You get to smell,

00:25:30.600 you get to maybe

00:25:30.980 stick your tongue out, 0.53

00:25:32.300 just taste some of those 0.61

00:25:33.260 delicious leftist tears.

00:25:34.440 It will set your day off right

00:25:35.860 first thing in the morning.

00:25:36.840 Go to dailywire.com,

00:25:38.080 get your leftist tears

00:25:39.820 aftershave tumbler,

00:25:41.520 and we will be right back

00:25:42.480 with a lot more.

00:25:52.800 Every time I fleetingly think

00:25:55.720 that I don't love Donald Trump,

00:25:57.660 he does something like this.

00:25:58.940 He invited the Clemson football team

00:26:01.120 over to the White House

00:26:02.040 to celebrate their win

00:26:03.940 in some sporting event

00:26:05.320 that I did not even know

00:26:06.320 was occurring.

00:26:07.280 And apparently this was

00:26:08.360 a big deal,

00:26:09.300 and the trouble is

00:26:10.300 the government is shut down,

00:26:11.380 so there was nobody there

00:26:12.260 to cook all the food

00:26:13.720 and serve all the food.

00:26:15.360 So Donald Trump,

00:26:16.340 rather than canceling the event,

00:26:18.340 he had a stroke of genius.

00:26:21.640 And by the way,

00:26:22.220 to talk about Providence

00:26:23.280 at work here,

00:26:24.620 Donald Trump caters

00:26:25.800 the whole event

00:26:26.580 with fast food last night.

00:26:28.700 McDonald's, Burger King,

00:26:30.080 Wendy's, pizza,

00:26:32.200 you know,

00:26:32.380 just all of this fast food

00:26:33.820 on silver platters

00:26:35.280 with chandeliers,

00:26:36.940 with candles,

00:26:37.720 you know,

00:26:37.860 it's so beautiful.

00:26:38.500 Last night,

00:26:39.580 before this happened,

00:26:40.420 before I saw this,

00:26:41.380 I was driving home,

00:26:42.700 and I actually don't eat

00:26:43.960 McDonald's that much,

00:26:45.040 and I had a hankering

00:26:45.940 for McDonald's,

00:26:46.800 and I drove about

00:26:47.800 a mile out of the way,

00:26:48.760 or two miles out of the way,

00:26:49.820 to go get it.

00:26:50.880 And I said,

00:26:51.460 why do I want McDonald's

00:26:52.820 right now?

00:26:53.280 If you doubt Providence,

00:26:54.960 just remember that.

00:26:56.180 I think this is going to be

00:26:57.400 the new proof

00:26:58.340 of the existence of God.

00:26:59.940 Here is Donald Trump

00:27:01.040 using this event

00:27:02.380 with political brilliance.

00:27:05.180 Great American food,

00:27:07.740 and it will be

00:27:08.180 very interesting

00:27:08.860 to see at the end

00:27:09.620 of this evening

00:27:10.160 how many are left.

00:27:11.500 Do you prefer McDonald's

00:27:12.920 or Wendy's?

00:27:13.400 I like them all.

00:27:14.960 That's a tough question.

00:27:16.140 If it's American, 0.97

00:27:17.060 I like it.

00:27:17.660 It's all American stuff.

00:27:19.520 So,

00:27:20.100 but it's good stuff.

00:27:20.920 And we have

00:27:21.360 the national champion team,

00:27:24.060 as you know,

00:27:24.920 Clemson Tigers,

00:27:26.580 and they had a fantastic game

00:27:28.280 against Alabama.

00:27:29.100 We have pizzas,

00:27:31.080 we have 300 hamburgers,

00:27:33.020 many, many French fries,

00:27:34.700 all of our favorite foods.

00:27:37.120 I want to see what's here

00:27:38.440 when we leave

00:27:39.100 because I don't think

00:27:40.180 it's going to be much.

00:27:41.440 The reason we did this

00:27:42.320 is because of the shutdown.

00:27:44.180 We want to make sure

00:27:45.340 that everything is right.

00:27:46.540 So, we sent out,

00:27:47.440 we got this,

00:27:48.840 and we have some wonderful

00:27:50.100 people working

00:27:51.120 at the White House

00:27:51.740 that helped us out with this.

00:27:53.840 And I will say

00:27:54.940 the Republicans

00:27:55.600 are really,

00:27:56.680 really sticking together.

00:27:58.900 It's great to see

00:27:59.860 because we need border security.

00:28:01.380 We have to have it.

00:28:02.840 We have to have it.

00:28:03.760 No doubt about it.

00:28:04.860 Should have happened

00:28:05.400 30 years ago,

00:28:06.260 20 years ago,

00:28:07.100 10 years ago.

00:28:08.880 And it's going to happen now.

00:28:10.440 It's going to happen now.

00:28:11.280 Thank you very much, everybody.

00:28:12.860 Thanks, guys.

00:28:13.500 Enjoy your food.

00:28:14.480 It's going to happen now.

00:28:17.480 Never.

00:28:18.180 This is the rule.

00:28:19.280 This is the, you know,

00:28:20.100 never get into a fight

00:28:21.700 with a Sicilian

00:28:22.360 when death is on the line.

00:28:23.700 Never engage

00:28:24.620 in a land war in Asia.

00:28:26.060 And never challenge

00:28:28.160 Donald Trump

00:28:29.040 to a battle in the media.

00:28:31.080 He is the master

00:28:32.640 of the media.

00:28:33.540 So, what he did,

00:28:34.260 there was this event

00:28:34.840 on the calendar

00:28:35.480 to hang out

00:28:36.640 with the Clemson football team.

00:28:38.460 And he says,

00:28:39.080 okay, we'll still do it.

00:28:40.220 And I will take this event

00:28:41.500 and I will turn it into

00:28:43.020 an instantly viral promotion,

00:28:46.920 advertisement

00:28:47.620 for my border wall

00:28:49.800 during the government shutdown.

00:28:52.180 So, the news,

00:28:52.840 they've been covering

00:28:53.360 how awful he was, 0.62

00:28:54.340 how awful the Oval Office speech was.

00:28:56.360 It's terrible.

00:28:57.080 They tried that.

00:28:57.720 They hated that.

00:28:58.800 So, then he goes out

00:28:59.840 and he creates an event

00:29:01.540 that even his opponents

00:29:02.880 can't hate.

00:29:04.040 There was a photo

00:29:04.600 of him going around

00:29:05.580 sort of smiling

00:29:06.580 in front of this beautiful

00:29:07.800 long table

00:29:09.060 filled with silver trays

00:29:10.320 of hamburgers.

00:29:11.940 And they were all joking.

00:29:13.480 Even his opponents

00:29:14.160 were joking.

00:29:14.760 They said,

00:29:14.980 this is the Hamburglar.

00:29:16.200 Look at him.

00:29:16.740 Look at this.

00:29:17.220 Go, oh, this is so crazy.

00:29:18.760 And so, they're attacking him.

00:29:20.320 But they're attacking him

00:29:21.360 for doing something

00:29:22.140 that we all have affection for.

00:29:25.620 That's really very likable.

00:29:27.200 It's very hard to dislike.

00:29:28.780 Ocasio-Cortez is good

00:29:29.900 at this too.

00:29:30.700 She's very good

00:29:31.500 at doing things

00:29:32.380 that even her critics,

00:29:33.780 when they point them out,

00:29:34.920 have to admit

00:29:35.560 are sort of likable.

00:29:36.920 You know, she smiles,

00:29:37.780 she giggles, whatever. 0.96

00:29:39.300 And so, Donald Trump

00:29:40.220 does this just

00:29:40.980 to a whole nother level.

00:29:42.960 And you'll notice

00:29:43.700 there wasn't a lot of Chipotle

00:29:44.740 at that event.

00:29:46.220 Not even Taco Bell,

00:29:47.600 which I like.

00:29:48.420 It was all American. 0.79

00:29:49.460 He said,

00:29:49.620 it's all good American food.

00:29:51.200 And what this did

00:29:52.240 was this triggered the left

00:29:53.720 in a way,

00:29:56.380 in two ways.

00:29:57.240 First, they said,

00:29:58.580 they attacked his wealth.

00:29:59.900 They said,

00:30:00.240 he's obviously not a billionaire.

00:30:02.060 Because if he were a billionaire,

00:30:03.440 he'd have good food

00:30:04.440 instead of that disgusting fast food.

00:30:07.220 So, he gets the left,

00:30:08.560 and this was going

00:30:09.040 all over the internet,

00:30:10.000 all over the commentary.

00:30:11.580 He gets the left

00:30:12.440 to position themselves

00:30:13.900 as privileged,

00:30:15.320 effete,

00:30:16.060 rich people

00:30:16.820 looking down on people

00:30:17.940 who have less than them.

00:30:19.420 The next part,

00:30:20.940 which is related to that,

00:30:22.100 is he got the left

00:30:23.300 to attack fast food.

00:30:25.100 But the thing is,

00:30:27.020 that food that was on that table

00:30:28.560 in the White House

00:30:29.280 is the most popular food

00:30:31.300 in America.

00:30:32.760 By a long shot.

00:30:34.500 It's not even close.

00:30:36.060 Like, it's not,

00:30:37.180 the gap between Big Mac

00:30:39.540 and kale from Whole Foods

00:30:41.740 is, like,

00:30:42.780 there isn't enough room

00:30:43.620 in my studio

00:30:44.420 to show the gap

00:30:45.820 in popularity

00:30:46.440 between those two things.

00:30:47.640 Now, the trouble is,

00:30:48.600 when you're talking

00:30:49.460 about members of the press,

00:30:50.620 the media,

00:30:51.400 Democrats in Congress,

00:30:52.340 and the Senate,

00:30:53.100 that exactly flips.

00:30:54.160 They haven't eaten

00:30:55.080 a McDonald's hamburger

00:30:56.240 since they were 15.

00:30:58.240 They only eat the kale

00:30:59.720 from Whole Foods.

00:31:00.960 And so,

00:31:01.340 and they pay much more

00:31:02.140 for the kale from Whole Foods

00:31:03.240 for a little piece of lettuce

00:31:04.300 than they do for

00:31:05.300 a Big Mac meal

00:31:06.380 at McDonald's.

00:31:07.380 And so you have them

00:31:08.400 looking down on that

00:31:09.280 and you have the rest

00:31:09.820 of America saying,

00:31:10.560 wait a minute,

00:31:11.560 I'd love that.

00:31:12.340 That sounds great.

00:31:13.300 They're all saying,

00:31:14.120 how awful,

00:31:14.980 how awful it is 0.98

00:31:15.720 that Donald Trump

00:31:16.280 invited the football team

00:31:17.480 and he just served them

00:31:19.200 fast food. 0.68

00:31:19.880 That's disgusting.

00:31:20.720 And the rest of America, 0.86

00:31:21.880 the rest of us,

00:31:22.440 as I'm sitting there

00:31:23.120 literally eating

00:31:24.040 a double quarter pounder

00:31:25.240 with cheese

00:31:25.540 as this is happening,

00:31:26.560 I'm saying,

00:31:26.960 I love that food.

00:31:28.740 That food's delicious.

00:31:29.760 What are you talking about?

00:31:31.480 Then they try to attack it

00:31:32.580 from another angle.

00:31:33.240 They say,

00:31:33.700 wow,

00:31:34.120 Donald Trump,

00:31:34.720 he's playing into a stereotype

00:31:36.000 that college jocks

00:31:37.580 like to eat a lot

00:31:38.580 of fast food.

00:31:39.940 Well,

00:31:40.080 guess what?

00:31:40.380 All the food was gone

00:31:41.040 by the end of the night.

00:31:41.780 You know why?

00:31:42.300 Because college jocks

00:31:43.120 love to eat a lot

00:31:43.720 of fast food.

00:31:44.500 Not just college jocks,

00:31:46.040 every college student

00:31:47.080 likes to eat a lot

00:31:47.640 of fast food.

00:31:48.360 Not just every college student,

00:31:49.760 most Americans do.

00:31:50.940 It was a master stroke

00:31:52.980 because as every one

00:31:54.700 of those little memes

00:31:55.400 was going around

00:31:56.060 of Donald Trump

00:31:56.620 standing in front

00:31:57.240 of 300 hamburgers,

00:31:59.580 you then have

00:32:00.780 that video going around

00:32:02.380 where he says,

00:32:02.880 yep,

00:32:03.540 the reason we're doing

00:32:04.640 these hamburgers

00:32:05.400 is because of the border

00:32:06.380 shutdown,

00:32:06.860 but that's okay.

00:32:07.420 I'm not going to complain.

00:32:09.080 I'm not going to complain.

00:32:10.580 And this is another aspect

00:32:12.220 that he's demonstrating.

00:32:13.380 He doesn't always demonstrate it,

00:32:14.420 but he's demonstrating it here

00:32:15.440 of manliness,

00:32:17.360 of masculinity,

00:32:17.980 is you need gratitude.

00:32:20.820 You need gratitude.

00:32:22.260 You know,

00:32:22.700 you need humility.

00:32:24.640 Trump actually,

00:32:25.660 you know,

00:32:25.820 ironically,

00:32:26.380 he does have humility.

00:32:27.540 He jokes about himself.

00:32:28.440 He makes a lot of jokes

00:32:29.240 about bragging,

00:32:30.180 but he also makes jokes

00:32:31.100 about himself.

00:32:32.260 He says,

00:32:32.580 the only good thing about me

00:32:33.460 is I don't drink.

00:32:34.240 I'd be the worst drunk

00:32:35.020 in the world. 0.55

00:32:35.480 I'd be terrible.

00:32:37.160 He makes these jokes

00:32:38.200 about himself,

00:32:39.280 even as he's joking

00:32:40.240 about how funny he is,

00:32:41.220 how great he is,

00:32:41.960 how rich he is.

00:32:43.340 And you need a little bit

00:32:44.920 of gratitude, though.

00:32:46.040 And he's saying,

00:32:46.480 look,

00:32:46.840 I'm not going to complain

00:32:47.680 that we've got to eat this food.

00:32:48.620 Everybody likes fast food.

00:32:49.700 It's our favorite food.

00:32:50.640 It's good and American.

00:32:51.700 We're going to have

00:32:52.180 a great time here tonight.

00:32:53.340 It makes you a bigger person.

00:32:54.760 It makes you a much better person.

00:32:56.640 To be a man,

00:32:57.400 you need to be able

00:32:58.160 to look back

00:32:59.360 on your history,

00:33:01.320 on your forefathers,

00:33:02.480 on everything in civilization

00:33:04.680 that has led you

00:33:05.520 to where you are.

00:33:06.780 And you need to not hate it.

00:33:08.760 If you hate it, 0.82

00:33:09.520 you become whiny 1.00

00:33:10.600 and miserable like the left. 1.00

00:33:12.340 You become catty 0.99

00:33:13.360 like all of these 0.92

00:33:14.160 girly men

00:33:15.220 on the left wing.

00:33:17.020 But if you look at it

00:33:18.520 with gratitude

00:33:19.040 and you say,

00:33:19.460 look,

00:33:19.600 those guys weren't perfect

00:33:20.560 and their fathers

00:33:21.600 weren't perfect

00:33:22.120 and their fathers

00:33:22.640 weren't perfect.

00:33:23.360 And I'm not perfect.

00:33:24.240 I'm sure not perfect.

00:33:25.180 I can conclude.

00:33:26.120 I can deduce

00:33:26.920 that I'm a flawed person too.

00:33:28.620 That gives you

00:33:29.180 a little bit of humility

00:33:30.040 and it allows you

00:33:31.260 to look forward

00:33:31.900 and say,

00:33:32.600 okay,

00:33:33.200 here's how we're going

00:33:33.800 to be the bigger men here.

00:33:35.080 Here's how we're going

00:33:35.520 to be adults.

00:33:36.320 Here's how we're going

00:33:36.840 to move forward.

00:33:37.360 It makes you much more attractive.

00:33:38.840 This was a real PR win

00:33:41.020 for a president

00:33:42.060 who is losing

00:33:43.400 the PR battle

00:33:44.320 of this shutdown.

00:33:45.900 His approval rating

00:33:46.660 is going down,

00:33:47.420 not by a lot,

00:33:48.020 but by a little bit.

00:33:49.100 And he's being blamed

00:33:51.040 overall for the shutdown.

00:33:53.060 His policy is improving

00:33:54.620 in popularity.

00:33:56.060 The border wall itself

00:33:56.840 is now more popular

00:33:57.660 than it was

00:33:58.120 before the shutdown.

00:33:59.180 But he needed

00:33:59.800 a little PR win.

00:34:00.880 He totally got it here.

00:34:02.320 And coincidentally,

00:34:03.400 it helped to demonstrate

00:34:04.900 a little lesson

00:34:05.860 about masculinity

00:34:06.940 very much in the news.

00:34:09.060 You're even going

00:34:09.820 to see this now.

00:34:10.580 So they make fun

00:34:11.320 of the airport

00:34:11.860 or the fast food.

00:34:13.500 You're going to see this

00:34:14.000 with the airports too.

00:34:15.460 Americans are not being 1.00

00:34:16.360 affected by this shutdown.

00:34:17.720 They don't feel it.

00:34:18.580 Federal workers,

00:34:19.260 we feel bad for them

00:34:20.040 if they're out of work.

00:34:21.760 But that's a small percentage

00:34:23.260 of the population.

00:34:24.380 Vast majority of Americans

00:34:25.400 are not affected

00:34:26.000 by this shutdown.

00:34:27.460 What the left

00:34:28.000 and the media are saying

00:34:28.840 is, well,

00:34:29.740 if the TSA

00:34:30.480 stops showing up to work,

00:34:31.860 if my pre-check line

00:34:33.100 at Terminal B

00:34:34.120 at JFK

00:34:35.620 is shut down,

00:34:36.320 then you're going

00:34:37.480 to hear about it,

00:34:38.180 Mr. President.

00:34:39.660 Most people don't fly

00:34:40.580 that much.

00:34:41.880 The vast majority

00:34:42.840 of Americans

00:34:43.340 don't fly very frequently.

00:34:45.220 The media fly around

00:34:46.160 all the time.

00:34:46.600 I fly around all the time.

00:34:47.560 I'm very angry

00:34:48.100 when the pre-check

00:34:48.640 is shut down

00:34:49.120 at Terminal B of JFK.

00:34:50.580 But,

00:34:52.080 small price to pay

00:34:53.100 from a small group

00:34:53.960 of people

00:34:54.400 who generally inhabit

00:34:55.740 a pretty privileged

00:34:56.700 segment of society.

00:34:58.580 And if they're going

00:34:59.260 to be complaining

00:34:59.780 about that,

00:35:00.260 it's going to be

00:35:00.620 exactly the same thing.

00:35:01.760 You're going to have

00:35:01.960 the vast majority

00:35:02.580 of America saying,

00:35:04.040 oh,

00:35:04.360 your pre-check line

00:35:05.780 was closed,

00:35:06.800 boo-hoo-hoo. 1.00

00:35:07.920 Let me play you

00:35:08.820 a sad song

00:35:09.920 on the world's

00:35:10.360 smallest violin.

00:35:11.720 Big PR win

00:35:12.800 and President Trump

00:35:13.900 needed it,

00:35:14.400 so I was very glad

00:35:16.160 to see it last night.

00:35:17.180 Another fun PR win

00:35:18.340 from the right

00:35:19.120 was Laura Loomer.

00:35:20.520 If you're not familiar

00:35:21.280 with Laura Loomer,

00:35:22.420 she is a provocateur, 0.76

00:35:24.040 a provocatrix, 0.88

00:35:24.860 I suppose she would be.

00:35:26.040 She's an investigative,

00:35:28.080 independent journalist.

00:35:29.560 She's a right-wing activist. 0.96

00:35:31.820 She goes a little

00:35:32.360 out there sometimes.

00:35:33.520 She can be a little 1.00

00:35:34.060 out there.

00:35:34.460 This, however,

00:35:36.160 was perfectly executed.

00:35:38.600 She illegally immigrated

00:35:41.040 to Nancy Pelosi's compound.

00:35:43.160 She was just going 0.98

00:35:43.680 to go in there,

00:35:44.380 you know,

00:35:44.760 because California

00:35:45.960 is a sanctuary state.

00:35:47.320 Pelosi said walls

00:35:48.360 are immoral.

00:35:49.300 So she's just going

00:35:50.040 to go in there

00:35:50.640 and since walls

00:35:51.480 are immoral,

00:35:51.960 she's going to live

00:35:52.460 in Nancy Pelosi's house.

00:35:54.260 Surprise, surprise,

00:35:55.120 she was met

00:35:55.700 by Nancy Pelosi's

00:35:56.820 security guards.

00:35:57.460 Well, this is private

00:36:00.700 property, so...

00:36:02.160 I'm confused.

00:36:02.800 I thought that

00:36:03.400 California was

00:36:04.620 a sanctuary state.

00:36:06.160 I thought San Francisco

00:36:06.940 was a sanctuary state.

00:36:08.680 I don't know.

00:36:09.100 I thought Nancy Pelosi,

00:36:11.280 who's the speaker

00:36:11.800 of the house,

00:36:12.240 said that this is a sanctuary state.

00:36:12.360 Can we get ID

00:36:12.960 from everybody that's here

00:36:14.300 since you guys

00:36:15.040 are on private property?

00:36:15.820 We don't need that

00:36:16.660 in California.

00:36:17.240 I know we didn't need

00:36:17.640 that in California

00:36:18.360 because Gavin Newsom

00:36:19.380 said we didn't need

00:36:19.940 driver's licenses

00:36:20.660 because it's like

00:36:21.500 a form of profiling.

00:36:22.420 Well, you're on private property,

00:36:25.440 so you're trespassing.

00:36:27.340 I'm really confused.

00:36:28.480 Nancy said everyone

00:36:29.260 was welcome here.

00:36:30.300 Do you know

00:36:30.920 who Nancy Pelosi is? 0.79

00:36:31.900 Yes, sir.

00:36:32.440 So Nancy Pelosi said

00:36:33.960 Nancy Pelosi said that

00:36:35.940 I didn't think

00:36:36.820 I needed one, though.

00:36:37.480 You know, right?

00:36:38.360 You guys, I'm really confused

00:36:39.740 because Nancy Pelosi

00:36:40.680 said asylum's a human right,

00:36:42.040 but now they're saying

00:36:42.640 I'm trespassing

00:36:43.540 and Nancy said 0.99

00:36:44.300 everyone is welcome here.

00:36:45.900 Like, if you know

00:36:46.880 her nephew, Gavin Newsom,

00:36:48.520 he said everyone's welcome here.

00:36:49.600 So, real quick,

00:36:50.680 can I get your guy

00:36:51.180 a license?

00:36:51.240 Basically, you're trespassing.

00:36:53.040 Need to see some ID.

00:36:55.760 What's trespassing?

00:36:56.940 I reject those facts.

00:36:58.240 It's being on private property.

00:36:59.280 I reject those facts.

00:37:00.360 I didn't know there was

00:37:00.980 private property in California.

00:37:02.880 What's private property?

00:37:07.000 It's so good

00:37:08.040 and it goes on

00:37:09.300 for like an hour,

00:37:10.560 so I recommend

00:37:11.720 whenever you get home,

00:37:14.200 you know,

00:37:14.520 pull it up and watch it.

00:37:16.260 The right is so much better

00:37:18.480 at trolling than the left.

00:37:20.520 It's outrageous.

00:37:22.020 Obviously,

00:37:22.740 I mean,

00:37:22.860 I'll take a little credit

00:37:23.580 for the blank book.

00:37:24.900 Stunts like this

00:37:25.520 are so phenomenal

00:37:26.780 and we have the troll-in-chief

00:37:28.360 in the Oval Office. 0.78

00:37:29.980 The reason for this, though,

00:37:31.440 the reason why this stunt

00:37:32.660 went so well,

00:37:33.840 compare the right-wing stunts

00:37:35.020 to the left-wing stunts.

00:37:36.360 Right-wing stunt

00:37:37.100 is a funny,

00:37:39.060 provocative girl

00:37:40.480 shows up to Nancy Pelosi's house

00:37:42.700 allegedly with illegal aliens.

00:37:44.840 She said that she had

00:37:45.700 illegal aliens with her.

00:37:46.760 I don't know if that's true or not,

00:37:48.600 but it puts Nancy Pelosi 0.92

00:37:49.820 in this awful position of,

00:37:51.340 I'm supposed to arrest them,

00:37:53.320 but I said that I can't arrest them.

00:37:54.780 And does she really have illegal aliens? 0.66

00:37:56.280 I should let them in,

00:37:57.020 but not the American.

00:37:57.900 And what should I do?

00:37:59.100 And so she goes to Nancy Pelosi's house 0.84

00:38:01.380 and then just engages

00:38:02.840 in funny repartee.

00:38:04.740 It's just funny banter.

00:38:06.200 She didn't kick down 0.99

00:38:07.520 Nancy Pelosi's door.

00:38:09.000 She didn't scare

00:38:10.380 Nancy Pelosi's family in public

00:38:12.300 or at their home or anything.

00:38:13.520 She just engaged in repartee 1.00

00:38:15.620 to explicate

00:38:16.780 how absurd

00:38:18.200 Pelosi's immigration position is,

00:38:20.820 how incoherent

00:38:21.780 her immigration position is,

00:38:23.200 how she doesn't really believe

00:38:24.420 that walls are immoral

00:38:25.240 because she has many walls 0.99

00:38:26.300 and security guards herself. 0.99

00:38:28.580 Compare that to the left.

00:38:29.880 What the left does

00:38:30.680 is it sends

00:38:31.760 roving gangs of thugs

00:38:33.680 to Tucker Carlson's house,

00:38:35.300 kicks in his door,

00:38:36.420 breaks his door,

00:38:37.900 has his wife hiding

00:38:38.860 in the pantry safe room

00:38:40.280 until the cops show up,

00:38:41.840 lighting up fire in the streets

00:38:43.360 in Oregon.

00:38:44.100 They're just not that funny.

00:38:45.400 Now, humor requires

00:38:46.840 intelligence and wit,

00:38:48.900 so maybe that would explain

00:38:50.720 some of it.

00:38:51.520 But it also explains

00:38:52.760 these very virtues

00:38:53.720 that we're talking about today

00:38:54.940 with toxic masculinity

00:38:55.980 and with good,

00:38:57.420 virtuous manliness,

00:38:58.600 which is,

00:38:59.620 Laura Loomer here is prudent.

00:39:02.020 She didn't kick in

00:39:03.040 anybody's door.

00:39:03.840 That wouldn't serve any purpose.

00:39:05.060 She did apparently

00:39:05.820 try Nancy Pelosi's knob.

00:39:07.820 Said, oh, that's so weird.

00:39:08.540 It's locked.

00:39:09.620 But why is it locked?

00:39:10.800 Locks are immoral.

00:39:11.940 Walls are immoral.

00:39:12.620 So she did,

00:39:13.420 but she was very prudent.

00:39:14.400 She was very respectful

00:39:15.460 to the police,

00:39:16.600 played it totally straight,

00:39:18.280 very humble.

00:39:19.600 She goes in.

00:39:20.540 It's not just about her.

00:39:21.960 It's about these ideas.

00:39:23.300 It's about Nancy Pelosi's

00:39:24.640 own words being used

00:39:26.460 against her.

00:39:27.400 Everything's in balance here.

00:39:28.700 Everything has

00:39:29.280 a sense of proportion.

00:39:32.280 Everything has a good

00:39:33.000 sense of humor.

00:39:34.980 Really, really good stuff.

00:39:36.380 I hope that we get

00:39:37.200 more of this.

00:39:38.360 You know,

00:39:38.800 we should never,

00:39:39.600 the right should never

00:39:40.420 engage in what the left

00:39:41.320 does, which is go

00:39:42.560 and scare people

00:39:43.900 and kick in their doors

00:39:45.680 or anything like that.

00:39:46.840 But we should do this.

00:39:48.240 This is terrific.

00:39:49.460 To go up to Nancy Pelosi's gate

00:39:51.440 and engage in funny repartee

00:39:54.080 with the security guards,

00:39:55.740 that's terrific.

00:39:56.800 That's fabulous.

00:39:57.660 If we had a society like that,

00:39:59.120 we would all be living

00:39:59.980 in wonderful good humor,

00:40:01.300 and we'd all be very

00:40:02.220 grateful for it.

00:40:03.360 Nothing threatening,

00:40:04.520 nothing mean.

00:40:05.600 in just taking

00:40:06.980 Nancy Pelosi's premises

00:40:08.960 to their logical conclusion,

00:40:11.940 which is that

00:40:12.520 Laura Loomer

00:40:13.140 should be able

00:40:14.380 to illegally immigrate

00:40:15.960 onto her property.

00:40:17.920 Those guys are asking

00:40:19.060 her for IDs.

00:40:19.780 The entire Democrat Party

00:40:20.800 tells us that IDs

00:40:21.600 are racist. 0.84

00:40:23.280 Why is this

00:40:23.960 Democrat Speaker

00:40:24.840 of the House,

00:40:25.680 why are her security guards 0.97

00:40:26.860 asking for a mechanism,

00:40:28.660 an instrument of racism

00:40:29.960 and bigotry?

00:40:31.480 Because Democrats

00:40:32.360 don't really believe

00:40:33.200 that IDs are racist. 0.66

00:40:34.380 They're just cynical,

00:40:35.040 and they're just race hustling,

00:40:36.680 and they're just trying

00:40:37.760 to divide Americans.

00:40:39.060 Laura Loomer

00:40:39.540 showed that beautifully.

00:40:40.960 My hat is off to you.

00:40:42.540 Really, really well done.

00:40:44.420 Kamala Harris,

00:40:45.120 running for president.

00:40:46.200 She's put together

00:40:46.960 a mood mix

00:40:47.940 because,

00:40:49.220 as Steve Buscemi says

00:40:50.440 when he walks in

00:40:51.120 with his skateboard

00:40:51.700 over his shoulder,

00:40:53.300 how do you do,

00:40:54.140 fella kids? 1.00

00:40:55.000 Hey there, fella kids. 0.71

00:40:56.680 Here is Kamala Harris

00:40:57.800 doing her best rendition

00:40:58.880 of How Do You Do,

00:41:00.160 Fella Kids. 0.71

00:41:01.260 Hey, it's Kamala Harris,

00:41:02.720 and this is my mood mix.

00:41:07.060 A song that has

00:41:08.480 always made me dance.

00:41:10.580 Check the rhyme,

00:41:11.580 A Tribe Called Quest.

00:41:13.380 You know I'm talking

00:41:14.100 about Fife.

00:41:17.580 A song that has to be

00:41:19.920 played loud

00:41:20.580 because you have to hear

00:41:21.600 the bass.

00:41:22.780 The Sun Is Shining

00:41:24.040 by Bob Marley

00:41:25.340 and the Wailers.

00:41:26.860 Right?

00:41:27.300 The Sun Is Shining

00:41:30.460 and the Wailers.

00:41:33.060 A song that reminds me

00:41:34.960 of Howard University,

00:41:36.460 my alma mater,

00:41:37.540 the Mecca,

00:41:38.500 the real H.U.

00:41:41.340 Push It by Salt and Pepper.

00:41:44.720 Because it was a real hit song

00:41:47.360 when I was there.

00:41:50.440 Favorite song from my childhood,

00:41:52.560 Young, Gifted, and Black

00:41:53.620 by Aretha Franklin.

00:41:54.580 A song that makes me think

00:41:57.080 of my birthplace, Oakland.

00:41:59.680 Anything by Too Short.

00:42:02.200 Too Short!

00:42:04.440 A presidential song

00:42:06.180 for anyone.

00:42:07.920 One Nation Under a Groove

00:42:09.460 by Funkadelic.

00:42:11.100 One Nation Under a Groove.

00:42:13.980 The only thing I agree

00:42:15.800 with her on there 0.99

00:42:16.400 is I actually do really

00:42:17.420 like Funkadelic

00:42:18.220 and I do like

00:42:18.740 One Nation Under a Groove.

00:42:20.100 Everything else though, 1.00

00:42:21.180 how pathetic. 0.99

00:42:22.920 Let's just go through it 1.00

00:42:24.080 because she's really

00:42:24.940 given us a glimpse

00:42:25.640 into what this 2020 campaign

00:42:27.160 is going to be like.

00:42:28.140 First of all,

00:42:29.040 she's laughing too much

00:42:30.120 in too identical a way.

00:42:32.060 It just seems contrived.

00:42:33.480 I don't know if it's contrived.

00:42:34.600 I suspect it is.

00:42:35.640 It's that Hillary thing 1.00

00:42:36.520 that ha ha ha ha ha ha.

00:42:38.360 I'm likable.

00:42:39.480 Ha ha ha ha.

00:42:40.360 Look how likable

00:42:41.320 and casual I am.

00:42:42.420 Ha ha ha ha.

00:42:43.080 It doesn't play.

00:42:44.880 It also shows

00:42:45.980 that this entire campaign

00:42:47.060 is going to be going

00:42:47.740 for identity politics.

00:42:49.200 Look at what she highlights.

00:42:50.640 She spends a huge portion 1.00

00:42:52.740 of one of the song segments

00:42:54.660 talking about

00:42:55.360 my alma mater,

00:42:56.740 Howard University,

00:42:57.820 historically black,

00:42:59.160 the mecca,

00:42:59.900 the place,

00:43:00.500 the real HU.

00:43:02.060 I think she's referring

00:43:03.140 to Harvard University

00:43:04.320 although Harvard

00:43:05.000 doesn't call itself HU

00:43:06.060 but she's drawing

00:43:07.000 that dichotomy.

00:43:07.880 She's saying I'm,

00:43:08.980 you know,

00:43:09.320 she says one of her

00:43:09.940 favorite songs

00:43:10.440 was Young, Gifted, and Black.

00:43:12.320 See, that's me.

00:43:13.140 That's what I was.

00:43:13.880 I was born in Oakland.

00:43:15.920 Oakland, 0.90

00:43:16.380 a very, very black, 1.00

00:43:17.800 very tough city, 0.99

00:43:19.340 very tough town.

00:43:21.680 She's smart to do this

00:43:22.800 in a way

00:43:23.140 because it's her only shot

00:43:24.040 to do anything

00:43:25.020 to become president.

00:43:26.160 She has to play,

00:43:27.060 lean into the intersectionality vibe.

00:43:28.880 She has to play race politics. 1.00

00:43:31.120 I mean,

00:43:31.300 she actually doesn't,

00:43:32.260 she doesn't have to do it

00:43:33.380 in a normal political structure.

00:43:35.860 She's fairly intelligent.

00:43:36.920 She's had a good career.

00:43:38.060 She should be able

00:43:38.660 to run on her own merits

00:43:39.680 but in this day and age,

00:43:41.180 in this Democrat party,

00:43:42.260 she can't do it.

00:43:43.260 The one trouble

00:43:43.860 she's going to run into

00:43:44.600 on identity politics

00:43:45.560 is she's not actually

00:43:46.600 black American

00:43:47.340 in the way we would refer to that.

00:43:49.920 She's half Indian

00:43:50.780 and half Jamaican.

00:43:52.160 Her father is a Stanford economics

00:43:54.840 professor from Jamaica.

00:43:56.300 Her mother is a breast cancer scientist.

00:43:59.740 So it really cuts,

00:44:01.020 she's playing it up

00:44:02.160 as though she grew up

00:44:02.920 in Oakland

00:44:03.420 and, you know,

00:44:04.520 rough and tumble

00:44:05.260 and Young, Gifted, and Black.

00:44:06.860 But really,

00:44:07.880 she grew up in total privilege 1.00

00:44:08.900 and she didn't grow up in Oakland.

00:44:10.080 At the age of seven,

00:44:11.020 she moved to Canada.

00:44:11.840 She moved to Montreal.

00:44:13.060 She lived in Canada

00:44:13.840 until she went to college. 0.73

00:44:15.660 And so she totally grew up in Canada.

00:44:17.460 You've got another

00:44:17.940 Ocasio-Cortez thing here.

00:44:19.880 She grew up privileged,

00:44:21.300 intelligent,

00:44:22.120 half Jamaican,

00:44:22.780 half Indian.

00:44:23.820 She's a lawyer 0.71

00:44:24.620 who was in Canada

00:44:26.040 and she's going to pretend now

00:44:27.840 to have grown up

00:44:28.440 on the mean streets of Oakland.

00:44:29.840 A career politician

00:44:30.800 who is trying to reinvent

00:44:32.740 her identity

00:44:33.900 to play into

00:44:35.840 what is unfortunately

00:44:36.800 going to be

00:44:37.280 an identity politics-based

00:44:39.080 Democrat 2020

00:44:40.940 presidential primary.

00:44:42.780 It's too bad for her.

00:44:43.900 She actually does have

00:44:44.800 a lot of credentials.

00:44:46.420 She's had a good career.

00:44:47.480 She could run on the merits

00:44:48.840 if this were any other time

00:44:50.700 and if she were a member

00:44:51.380 of any other party.

00:44:52.560 But she's not,

00:44:53.440 and I fear for her,

00:44:55.560 she's not likable. 0.98

00:44:56.720 She's not casual.

00:44:58.280 She's the poor man's 0.99

00:44:59.800 Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,

00:45:01.240 like the really poor man's

00:45:02.800 Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

00:45:03.900 So I think she's going to

00:45:05.520 flop on that point.

00:45:06.880 Authenticity really matters

00:45:08.200 these days,

00:45:09.180 especially in presidential politics,

00:45:11.040 especially after the age

00:45:12.220 of Donald Trump

00:45:12.900 or in the age of Donald Trump.

00:45:14.940 And she's going to get hit

00:45:16.340 for an inauthentic representation

00:45:19.240 of her upbringing.

00:45:21.580 It's going to happen.

00:45:22.500 It's not going to come

00:45:23.080 from Republicans.

00:45:23.840 It's going to come

00:45:24.220 from other Democrats

00:45:24.980 who are going to say

00:45:26.220 she's not the real deal.

00:45:28.060 She's not authentic enough.

00:45:29.540 And that's what you have

00:45:30.720 to look forward to

00:45:31.400 because the circular firing squad

00:45:33.080 is always entertaining
