The Michael Knowles Show - Ep. 307 - Trump Is More Principled Than His Critics

00:00:00.000 As fake conservatives send leftists to mock pro-lifers at CPAC,

00:00:04.420 environmentalist Congresswoman AOC guzzles fossil fuels, 1.00

00:00:08.420 and Democrats double down on anti-Semitism and racial bigotry,

00:00:12.140 one thing has become abundantly clear.

00:00:14.640 President Trump is more principled than his critics.

00:00:17.820 Then we will discuss what a documentary about Michael Jackson molesting little kids

00:00:22.320 can tell us about our political culture.

00:00:24.640 A lot more to get to.

00:00:25.320 I'm Michael Knowles.

00:00:26.000 This is The Michael Knowles Show.

00:00:30.000 The center holds at CPAC,

00:00:36.520 and it reveals one of the shocking truths to a lot of people on the right and the left.

00:00:44.280 All we have heard on the right and the left is Donald Trump.

00:00:47.640 He doesn't have any principles.

00:00:48.920 Maybe he's a good president.

00:00:50.220 Maybe he's doing good things.

00:00:51.540 He doesn't have any principles, though.

00:00:53.060 Obviously, the never-Trump crowd says this.

00:00:55.280 Obviously, the whole left says this.

00:00:57.040 Doesn't have any principles.

00:00:57.880 It has become very clear within the last few weeks.

00:01:02.000 Donald Trump is far more principled than his critics, to the right or the left.

00:01:06.240 We'll get to that in a second.

00:01:07.000 But first, let's make a little money, honey, with purple mattress. 0.77

00:01:12.360 Oh, how I love purple mattress.

00:01:14.160 Purple, you know, I, obviously I need to get 20 hours of sleep a night.

00:01:17.600 I was trying to go to sleep last night, and I have these lunatics who live above me who just scream at each other all night long. 0.73

00:01:24.360 And I would have been awake all night if not for my purple mattress.

00:01:28.820 Their loud, awful shouting was only beaten out by the comfort of my beautiful purple mattress.

00:01:35.160 I was very skeptical about purple at first because it's not an Interspring.

00:01:38.340 It's not a memory foam exactly.

00:01:39.560 It's this new material developed by a rocket scientist.

00:01:41.940 It's firm and soft at the same time.

00:01:44.120 How is that possible?

00:01:45.100 I didn't think it was possible.

00:01:46.680 It is.

00:01:47.140 It is the greatest bed I've had in my life.

00:01:49.120 I have recommended it to a zillion people.

00:01:51.580 I, you know, basically tossed my old bed out the second I got it.

00:01:55.120 I absolutely love it.

00:01:57.220 100-night risk-free trial.

00:01:58.400 If you're not fully satisfied, you can return your mattress for a full refund.

00:02:02.040 Backed by a 10-year warranty, free shipping and returns, free in-home setup, and old mattress removal.

00:02:06.540 You will love it.

00:02:07.180 Right now, my listeners will get a free purple pillow at the purchase of a mattress.

00:02:11.600 That is in addition to the great free gifts they're offering site-wide.

00:02:14.220 Just text COVFEFE, C-O-V-F-E-F-E, to 84888.

00:02:19.520 That's the only way to get this free pillow.

00:02:22.080 Text COVFEFE right now, C-O-V-F-E-F-E, to 84888.

00:02:26.820 C-O-V-F-E-F-E, 84888.

00:02:30.480 Message and data rates may apply.

00:02:33.760 The CPAC speech was so good.

00:02:37.700 It was so great.

00:02:39.080 Donald Trump at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

00:02:42.160 I, unfortunately, wasn't able to get out there this year.

00:02:44.480 I used to love going to CPAC when I was younger.

00:02:46.760 We just got stuck in la-la land this year. 0.78

00:02:48.580 Couldn't make it happen.

00:02:50.260 I loved watching it from afar.

00:02:52.220 Donald Trump went out there.

00:02:53.100 A lot of you already saw clips from it.

00:02:54.800 He talked for over two hours.

00:02:58.120 Largely ad-libbing.

00:03:00.180 Largely improvising the speech.

00:03:01.640 The only thing I didn't like about it is a couple times he went blue.

00:03:08.840 He didn't go Democrat.

00:03:10.200 He went blue with his language. 0.66

00:03:11.500 He used swear words in public, which I just don't like.

00:03:16.180 Look, I'll talk like a sailor if I'm at the bar hanging out with the guys or something.

00:03:20.980 I don't like it when my president does that.

00:03:23.100 I don't like it broadly when people do that in public.

00:03:25.760 There is a time and a place for everything.

00:03:27.340 People should have discipline with their words.

00:03:29.020 If you're not disciplined with your language, then you might not be disciplined in your thinking or your behavior either.

00:03:34.200 That's the one criticism I have of this speech.

00:03:36.200 I don't like it when people who are in dignified positions use swear words in public.

00:03:42.240 That said, that's my only criticism.

00:03:44.640 The speech was fabulous.

00:03:47.680 The speech was unbelievably good.

00:03:51.260 He covered everything.

00:03:53.360 He covered all of the ground.

00:03:55.540 Look, you've probably seen him on the internet.

00:03:57.160 I'm just going to play one clip from it.

00:03:59.020 Where he went right to the heart of the matter with Democrats.

00:04:02.680 Went brutally right.

00:04:04.460 Some people said he went over the edge.

00:04:05.660 He didn't.

00:04:06.560 He identified the problem with the Democrat Party.

00:04:09.780 The problem with the up-and-coming, fresh-faced Democrats.

00:04:12.820 And he said it in no uncertain terms.

00:04:15.480 We have people in Congress.

00:04:18.160 Right now, we have people in Congress that hate our country.

00:04:22.760 And you know that.

00:04:27.700 And we can name every one of them if they want.

00:04:30.560 They hate our country.

00:04:38.420 Sad.

00:04:39.220 It's very sad.

00:04:40.080 When I see some of the things being made, the statements being made, it's very, very sad.

00:04:45.280 And find out, how did they do in their country?

00:04:49.140 Just ask them, how did they do?

00:04:50.920 Did they do well?

00:04:52.120 Were they succeeding?

00:04:53.020 Just ask that question.

00:04:54.340 Somebody would say, oh, that's terrible that he brings that up.

00:04:57.040 But that's okay.

00:04:57.900 I don't mind.

00:04:58.560 I'll bring it up.

00:04:59.360 How did they do in their country?

00:05:02.100 Not so good.

00:05:04.240 Now, if you don't know what he's referring to here, he's referring to freshman representative

00:05:09.060 Ilhan Omar.

00:05:10.720 He's referring to this woman.

00:05:12.920 She's an immigrant. 1.00

00:05:14.220 And she doesn't like America.

00:05:17.940 She doesn't like America.

00:05:18.860 She doesn't like our allies. 0.55

00:05:20.260 And he makes a big statement.

00:05:21.660 He said, there are Democrats in Congress who hate our country.

00:05:24.220 That is a big statement.

00:05:25.460 You can't make that statement unless you can back it up with facts.

00:05:28.960 He did.

00:05:29.560 He's referring to Ilhan Omar.

00:05:30.840 Ilhan Omar has defended nine men who tried to join ISIS from the United States.

00:05:37.440 She defended them.

00:05:38.240 She asked for leniency for them.

00:05:39.860 She's backing terrorists. 1.00

00:05:41.700 She blamed the U.S. for a terrorist attack on a Kenyan mall in 2013.

00:05:46.660 She blames the United States when terrorist attacks happen.

00:05:51.120 On the broader topic, so he defends it with that obvious, specific,

00:05:55.460 example, say there are Democrats who don't support our country, who hate our country.

00:05:59.480 This is true.

00:06:01.620 They protest the American flag and they endorse protests of the American flag.

00:06:06.260 You just have to go to that NFL protest from a couple years ago.

00:06:10.040 They protest the flag itself, the symbol of the country itself, and Democrats are pleased

00:06:15.240 to back them up, pleased to support them for it.

00:06:18.260 The rest of the speech was like this.

00:06:19.840 You know, as I said, he used a little salty language in there.

00:06:23.800 It may be the case that our culture is so degraded that you sort of have to do this to win over a crowd.

00:06:28.700 I've heard a lot of people tell me they loved it.

00:06:31.180 Oh, I loved when he used his real language like the real people use. 0.95

00:06:35.120 Maybe that's true.

00:06:36.720 Maybe he's on to something.

00:06:38.660 I don't know.

00:06:39.200 I mean, that's a sad thing for the culture, but I guess I can understand it if that's where the culture is.

00:06:46.060 Broadly, he goes on in this speech for two hours.

00:06:50.780 It's very hard to do that.

00:06:53.260 People don't appreciate, just as a technical show business aspect of his speeches,

00:06:58.820 how difficult it is to do what he does.

00:07:01.340 So he's a little loose with his language.

00:07:03.140 He kind of goes here and there.

00:07:04.360 He makes twists and turns.

00:07:05.860 To speak for two hours is very hard, especially if you want to keep people engaged.

00:07:11.920 And people were engaged with every second of that.

00:07:14.480 I watched every second of that speech.

00:07:17.660 He is a masterful communicator.

00:07:20.540 He is a masterful showman.

00:07:22.500 He is a masterful politician.

00:07:25.200 Now, those of us who have been paying attention have known all that for a long time.

00:07:29.140 But the one question that remained that I still hear people say, even supporters of the president,

00:07:34.060 they say, yeah, but he doesn't have any principles.

00:07:36.860 Yeah, he's good at politics.

00:07:38.940 He's good at communicating.

00:07:39.980 But he doesn't have any principles.

00:07:41.540 That isn't true.

00:07:42.740 This weekend, this CPAC, showed that Donald Trump is more principled than his critics.

00:07:49.000 I'm speaking in particular.

00:07:50.960 I'll go after his critics on the right for a second.

00:07:53.380 Then we can turn to the left.

00:07:54.460 I have refrained from criticizing Bill Kristol.

00:07:58.880 I've largely refrained from it.

00:08:00.480 This is because I like Bill Kristol.

00:08:02.080 He was a teacher of mine for a summer in D.C.

00:08:04.580 I listen to his podcast sometimes, conversations with Bill Kristol, which I usually enjoy.

00:08:11.360 I have to bring it up because Bill Kristol has made himself the news story.

00:08:15.240 So we have to talk about it.

00:08:16.300 He was the leading never-Trumper. 1.00

00:08:20.400 He was probably the main face of never-Trump and still is.

00:08:23.540 He started a website called The Bulwark with Charlie Sykes.

00:08:26.460 And the motto of The Bulwark is conservatism conserved.

00:08:34.120 The argument being we're the real conservatives and the Republican Party and Donald Trump

00:08:39.860 and people who support the Republican president, they're fake conservatives.

00:08:44.080 We, however, are the real conservatives.

00:08:46.580 And I entertained this argument because while I thought it was a wrong argument,

00:08:52.740 I understood the logic of it.

00:08:54.180 The logic basically was we're so conservative that we live in this totally pure, esoteric, ethereal realm

00:09:04.840 that has nothing to do with real politics.

00:09:06.820 We would never soil our principles by engaging in the reality of politics.

00:09:13.160 Now, you might say that that is an unprincipled position in itself, which I would say.

00:09:16.780 But I at least got that argument.

00:09:19.480 This weekend, that argument fell apart.

00:09:21.640 That never-Trump argument completely dissolved.

00:09:24.560 Because what The Bulwark did was they sent a leftist reporter, Molly Jongfast, to report on CPAC. 0.50

00:09:34.260 And they were promoting this.

00:09:35.920 They'd say, oh, you're going to want to pay attention to Molly Jongfast's reports.

00:09:39.700 Oh, you're going to really like this.

00:09:41.340 Oh, they were really promoting this.

00:09:43.040 This wasn't some random freelancer who went off script.

00:09:45.680 This was they sent a leftist in to mock CPAC.

00:09:49.100 And what did she do?

00:09:50.100 She filed a piece for The Bulwark called, CPAC is Definitely the Bad Place.

00:09:55.600 In that piece, you can read it yourself, she attacks pro-lifers. 0.98

00:09:59.920 She refers to them as anti-choice, almost exclusively, if not exclusively.

00:10:03.820 She attacks the Reagan administration over its policy in Latin America.

00:10:09.280 She attacks the NRA.

00:10:10.820 She attacks Seconds Amendment supporters.

00:10:13.240 She attacks Charlie Kirk for being a high school dropout, a college dropout, who then

00:10:19.280 goes and lectures college students about free speech on campus.

00:10:22.320 I believe, I'm not sure of this, I believe Molly herself is a college dropout.

00:10:26.500 So it's kind of weird for her to make that attack.

00:10:30.400 Uh, they attack Seb Gorka, they say, Seb Gorka, who lectured the crowd about how socialism 0.99

00:10:36.380 is bad and how Democrats love to kill babies. 0.99

00:10:40.840 Show me the lie. 1.00

00:10:42.940 Socialism is bad.

00:10:44.720 Democrats have embraced socialism. 0.99

00:10:47.080 And Democrats have not just embraced late-term abortion, they've now embraced killing babies 0.99

00:10:51.360 after they are born. 0.73

00:10:53.460 Not even just Ralph Northam in Virginia.

00:10:55.400 Senate Democrats voted against a bill that would offer medical treatment to babies who

00:11:02.940 are born, who survive abortions. 0.99

00:11:05.600 National Democrats voted to kill babies after they are born. 0.60

00:11:10.960 She attacks this as somehow bad, somehow wrong. 0.95

00:11:14.840 She attacks conservative sponsors of media.

00:11:18.060 Specifically, Mike Lindell, who's the MyPillow guy, who sponsors a lot of conservative media.

00:11:23.320 She attacks him, for, I guess, for sponsoring conservative media.

00:11:26.640 She attacks the RNC, an RNC chairwoman, Ronna McDaniel.

00:11:31.020 She attacks Fox News host, Laura Ingram. 0.99

00:11:33.700 And then she attacks John Batchelor, who's a radio host, who's conservative, he's been battling 0.94

00:11:38.960 cancer, and she attacks him for looking ugly and old.

00:11:42.400 Said it looks like he's 400 years old.

00:11:45.120 I think after the blowback, she finally had to delete that tweet.

00:11:47.820 So, the principled, never-Trump stance was, we're going to conserve conservatism.

00:11:57.840 How does any of that conserve conservatism?

00:12:01.320 The principled, never-Trump, conservatism-conserved idea was they were going to get a ton of interest,

00:12:10.780 a ton of attention by sending this leftist reporter.

00:12:15.760 That worked.

00:12:16.800 They did get a ton of attention.

00:12:18.320 But my question now is, once you've alienated pro-lifers, Reaganites, Second Amendment supporters,

00:12:24.520 young conservatives, anti-socialists, conservative media sponsors, Fox News, and the RNC, and talk radio,

00:12:34.220 who is your audience?

00:12:36.300 What are you conserving?

00:12:37.740 Because the only people who will want to read this are those suffering from Trump derangement

00:12:44.940 syndrome, which is exclusively left-wing, with the exception of the dozen never-Trumpers

00:12:49.540 that still exist.

00:12:51.100 And the left is never going to read an outlet that calls itself conservatism-conserved.

00:12:56.380 It just isn't going to happen.

00:12:57.640 They might invite you on MSNBC to go attack the president, but that's it.

00:13:02.480 Very misguided.

00:13:05.620 And by the way, after all of this, after it was clear what Molly Jong-Fast did, Mr. Crystal

00:13:10.380 came out and tweeted, quote, thanks to Molly Jong-Fast for triggering so many snowflakes on the

00:13:16.100 right with her mordant, yes, gasp, heterodox dispatches from CPAC 2019.

00:13:22.980 He's acknowledging her attacks on pro-lifers.

00:13:26.180 He's acknowledging all of that, and he's celebrating it.

00:13:28.360 However, this is obviously not conservatism-conserved.

00:13:32.980 Ironically, what it actually is, is liberalism liberalized.

00:13:37.820 I'm not just making a little cute play on words.

00:13:40.420 That's actually the difference.

00:13:42.580 And this has been a project of many people on the right for a long time.

00:13:46.120 They don't want to conserve the conservative tradition.

00:13:49.820 They want to liberalize the liberal tradition.

00:13:52.500 They are liberals who want to make liberalism a bigger tent, who want liberalism to be more

00:13:57.620 liberal, who want liberalism to engage with free speech or whatever.

00:14:02.060 This was the idea.

00:14:02.840 Bill Crystal said a couple years ago, he said, he said, let's rebrand the GOP as the liberal

00:14:09.760 party because, because we're the real liberals and, and we're the cool guys and liberalism is

00:14:16.400 so great.

00:14:18.020 Oh, oh, what a bad idea.

00:14:20.500 That's a terrible idea.

00:14:21.360 That's, ironically, Donald Trump is actually doing the bulwark's mission.

00:14:28.280 Donald Trump is actually conserving conservatism.

00:14:31.480 He's saying there is an alternative to liberalism.

00:14:34.160 Conservatism is not just another form of liberalism.

00:14:36.900 There is a different conservative tradition.

00:14:39.680 That is much more honest and that is much more principled, what the Trump critics on the

00:14:45.720 right are doing.

00:14:46.220 And I think they've, they finally exposed that.

00:14:48.660 I don't know how they could expose it in any more obvious fashion than to send a leftist

00:14:55.500 to go make fun of pro-lifers at CPAC.

00:14:59.080 We have to get to how the left is less principled than Donald Trump.

00:15:02.400 But first, let's thank our wonderful sponsor, Mike Rowe.

00:15:05.500 If you are looking for more great podcasts to listen to, but you're short on time, you've

00:15:09.220 got to check out The Way I Heard It with Mike Rowe.

00:15:12.180 This podcast gives a unique take on American history, explores everything from pop culture

00:15:16.300 to politics, actors to athletes, history to Hollywood, and each episode is 10 minutes

00:15:21.080 or less.

00:15:22.100 The Way I Heard It is hosted by Mike Rowe.

00:15:24.020 He presents stories for the curious mind with a short attention span.

00:15:27.160 His storytelling is reminiscent of the late Paul Harvey's The Rest of the Story.

00:15:31.140 It reminds me a lot of Ronald Reagan, actually.

00:15:33.260 That's the, it's got a very Reagan-esque quality.

00:15:36.080 They're all pretty short.

00:15:36.920 They're all under 10 minutes.

00:15:38.120 It's the number one short-form podcast in America, downloaded more than 87 million times.

00:15:43.300 You can start with episode 36, Oh Brother.

00:15:46.800 I don't want to ruin the episode, but it is about a sibling rivalry, siblings torn apart

00:15:52.440 by politics in a very tough American election that was based on making America great again

00:15:59.500 and how it intersects with pop culture, how it intersects with the entertainment industry.

00:16:05.460 I don't want to ruin any more, but it's a fabulous episode.

00:16:17.760 MikeRowe.com slash podcast.

00:16:20.100 You are going to love this, especially if you're short on time.

00:16:22.900 It is just such a great little dose of wit, of history, of political cleverness.

00:16:29.880 I really like it.

00:16:30.800 I'm sure you will too.

00:16:31.900 Check it out.

00:16:32.340 MikeRowe.com slash podcast.

00:16:34.660 It's not just the right that has fewer principles than Donald Trump.

00:16:40.940 It's the left as well.

00:16:42.420 So we see this most clearly with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

00:16:46.580 Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, our favorite, the socialist from Yorktown Heights.

00:16:51.280 She said, quote, I'll try to do a, we're like the world is going to end in 12 years if we don't address climate change.

00:17:01.440 That's what she said.

00:17:02.080 So what she is saying is we need to have zero greenhouse gases.

00:17:07.020 We need a full transition off of fossil fuels within 10 years or else the world will end or else it is not okay to have children.

00:17:15.280 That's what she said.

00:17:16.220 You have to ask yourself if it's moral to have children in this world.

00:17:20.200 And what did we learn from federal filings? 1.00

00:17:23.540 She's a hypocrite. 1.00

00:17:24.320 She doesn't practice what she preaches. 1.00

00:17:27.660 So Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez lives in the city with the greatest subway system in the world.

00:17:33.220 And according to her federal filings, she listed over 1,000 Uber, Lyft, and Juno transactions during her campaign.

00:17:43.240 She spent $30,000 on rideshare.

00:17:48.420 Guess where her campaign headquarters was located? 0.97

00:17:50.400 One minute away from the 7 train.

00:17:54.660 And the 7 train can take you anywhere because the 7 train connects to a bunch of other lines so you can get all around.

00:17:59.880 She lived a one minute walk away from the 7 train.

00:18:03.020 And she spent 30 G's on rideshare apps.

00:18:05.800 To put that into perspective, Max Rose, who's another freshman Democrat from New York,

00:18:10.940 he only spent $6,000 on rideshare apps.

00:18:14.080 And he only spent them on 329 rides during his campaign.

00:18:17.380 So she used way, way multiples, multiples more than this. 0.84

00:18:20.400 Then, what happened after the primary?

00:18:22.300 After the primary, AOC set her sights outside of New York.

00:18:26.220 She flew around 66 times, costing $25,000.

00:18:31.220 She wants trains over planes, doesn't she? 1.00

00:18:33.540 Well, she only took 18 Amtrak rides.

00:18:36.260 She flew 66 times.

00:18:39.380 Only, actually, on October 12, 2018, on that day alone,

00:18:44.400 AOC logged 26 car service transactions.

00:18:49.140 That's in one day.

00:18:50.060 And what I'm pointing out here is not that she shouldn't take Ubers,

00:18:54.400 not that a congresswoman shouldn't ride. 0.99

00:18:56.140 What I'm pointing out is she doesn't believe what she's saying. 0.99

00:18:58.660 She is a fraud. 0.74

00:19:00.220 If she really thought that the world were going to end because of greenhouse gases, 0.98

00:19:03.300 she would take the subway, which is one minute away from her headquarters.

00:19:06.640 She wouldn't fly all over the country to raise money.

00:19:10.160 She would stick around town.

00:19:12.000 What she is saying is, do as I say, not as I do.

00:19:16.140 Greenhouse gases for me, but not for thee. 0.94

00:19:19.160 It is a real hypocrisy.

00:19:23.280 And some have said, well, you know, people, someone tweeted at me.

00:19:29.320 They said, Ralph Nader campaigned for seatbelt laws

00:19:32.640 at a time when there weren't a lot of seatbelts in cars.

00:19:37.300 Well, Henry Ford took trains at a time when he was building automobiles.

00:19:41.240 Well, that's not hypocritical.

00:19:43.080 It is hypocritical for her because she's saying the world will end

00:19:46.040 if people continue these behaviors. 0.93

00:19:48.300 That's the difference.

00:19:49.040 She says, this is destroying earth, imperiling the future of the human race. 0.96

00:19:53.960 That's what makes it hypocritical. 0.85

00:19:56.800 And she obviously doesn't believe it because environmentalism is a sham. 0.98

00:20:00.960 It is an obvious power grab.

00:20:03.300 Now, this is to make AOC probably not the worst of the Democrat congressmen these days

00:20:12.880 because she is not explicitly defending killing babies after birth

00:20:17.680 or condemning the Jews.

00:20:19.660 I want to get to Ilana Omar in a second, which is what she is doing. 0.88

00:20:23.360 But first, I want to talk about just the Democrat tenor.

00:20:26.340 Because when you call them out on hypocrisy,

00:20:28.300 when you call them out on their double standards, on race, on the environment, on whatever,

00:20:32.060 what do they, they just, they don't have an argument.

00:20:33.840 So what they immediately do is call you Hitler.

00:20:37.620 This is what happens when you don't have an argument.

00:20:40.180 That's how you know they're losing the argument.

00:20:42.220 Here is Elie Mistal on MSNBC using this ridiculous tactic.

00:20:46.680 I know you have a reaction, Elie.

00:20:48.300 I feel in my heart that you might have a reaction.

00:20:50.460 Mark Meadow, I don't know why members of Congress can't say this because they have to work with the man,

00:20:54.020 but I don't have to work with the man.

00:20:55.360 Mark Meadow is so racist that he needs to be put on display at the African American History Museum

00:20:59.500 as an artifact, all right? 0.93

00:21:00.980 I am so sick of Republicans thinking that the only racist people left in America are David Duke and Louis Farrakhan, all right? 0.98

00:21:10.120 White people don't get a vote. 1.00

00:21:11.580 White people have been held in bondage and oppression in the new world for 400 years. 0.93

00:21:17.240 My own counsel will I keep on who is to be called racist, all right?

00:21:21.660 So when these people, when these white Republicans try to tell me, and Bagger Vance standing behind her,

00:21:28.380 when these people try to tell me who is racist and who is not racist, they need to understand that I do not care.

00:21:35.020 What I care about is what their policies are and what their actions are. 0.94

00:21:39.540 And Mark Meadows is a birster, so he can roll his behind out of here.

00:21:44.300 You know what he's saying.

00:21:45.740 What he's saying is, I don't have an argument.

00:21:48.280 I don't have an argument, and so I'm going to demagogue.

00:21:51.760 And you can't have an opinion.

00:21:53.360 You don't get a vote.

00:21:54.320 You do.

00:21:54.700 You do.

00:21:55.060 You're allowed.

00:21:55.440 You don't understand how opinions work.

00:21:57.320 Mr. Mistal.

00:22:00.620 More on that in a second, but first, let's make a little money with Candid.

00:22:03.760 Have you ever had a problem with your teeth that you've always wanted to get fixed?

00:22:07.240 I have an option that can help.

00:22:09.040 You won't need to go through the hassle or long-term treatment of wire braces.

00:22:12.240 You can do it all from the comfort of your own home.

00:22:14.200 It's this new company called Candid.

00:22:15.920 Candid is helping people gain confidence through accessible and affordable orthodontic care.

00:22:20.840 Candid's network of highly trained orthodontists review each and every case

00:22:23.760 and directs the entire aligner plan.

00:22:25.720 Straighter and brighter teeth in an average of six months cost 65% less than braces.

00:22:29.860 When I was a kid, I had braces.

00:22:31.260 You know, it doesn't look great.

00:22:32.800 It's really kind of hard to pick up girls if you've got the braces.

00:22:35.900 And they were very, very expensive.

00:22:38.840 Now you can save so much money.

00:22:40.220 You get clear aligners that are sent directly to your home, customized specifically to fix and straighten your teeth.

00:22:47.140 Your orthodontists will review your specific case, provide you with a 3D preview of what your treatment will look like.

00:22:53.000 Candid's treatment is an average of six months and will save you thousands compared to the other guys.

00:22:57.300 You're one step away from getting straighter, whiter teeth.

00:22:59.700 Take advantage of Candid's risk-free modeling kit guarantee.

00:23:02.380 Plus, when you use my dedicated link, candidco.com slash cofefe, C-O-V-F-E-F-E, you'll save 25% on your modeling kit.

00:23:09.280 Candidco.com slash cofefe, C-O-V-F-E-F-E, to get 25% off the price of your modeling kit.

00:23:14.880 Candidco.com slash cofefe.

00:23:19.840 So what Ellie Mistal just said is not true.

00:23:24.360 It is not true that white people don't get to have an opinion about something because of the color of their skin.

00:23:31.360 It's not true that black people don't get to have an opinion about something because of the color of their skin.

00:23:36.440 That's not how opinions work.

00:23:38.920 Thinking people can hold opinions about anything, and they should.

00:23:43.720 And this is the issue because the Democrats are no longer thinking.

00:23:47.360 That's not just a throwaway line.

00:23:50.000 Leftism has become a psychological twitch more than a coherent ideology.

00:23:58.160 Fifty years ago, liberals would say this about conservatism.

00:24:01.240 Conservatism is just a psychological twitch, not a philosophy.

00:24:04.900 That has happened to leftism now.

00:24:07.520 It has happened to leftism because of the denial of truth, because of the denial of reality, because now they say all that matters is the reality of oppression.

00:24:19.060 Ideas don't matter.

00:24:20.180 Skin color is all that matters. 0.99

00:24:21.520 This is a hysterical denier of reality, a refusal to engage with reality.

00:24:27.840 You see, we talked about AOC on her environmentalism, how she has no principles. 0.99

00:24:34.120 She says, I'm this high-minded, principled environmentalist.

00:24:37.060 Nonsense.

00:24:37.580 She's driving around gas-guzzling Ubers all over the place. 1.00

00:24:41.240 For that woman to say that Donald Trump has no principles. 0.99

00:24:43.900 Crazy. 0.59

00:24:44.780 But on the race issue, two Democrats have this problem.

00:24:47.500 They're not handling their race issue well.

00:24:49.840 Over the weekend, Ilhan Omar, that freshman representative, got into a spat with another Democrat colleague, Nita Lowy.

00:24:58.020 And she doubled down. 1.00

00:24:59.000 She said, quote,

00:24:59.520 Our democracy is built on debate, Congresswoman Lowy.

00:25:03.540 I should not be expected to have allegiance, pledge support to a foreign country in order to serve my country in Congress or serve on committee.

00:25:10.860 The people of the fifth elected me to serve their interest.

00:25:13.000 I'm sure we agree on that.

00:25:14.500 What she's saying is that Jews have a double allegiance to Israel and to the U.S.

00:25:20.680 It's not just a normal criticism of a country, which would be fine.

00:25:24.020 To criticize Israel just like you would criticize France or Great Britain or China or whatever, that is acceptable. 1.00

00:25:33.540 That's understandable.

00:25:35.680 Ilhan Omar has a special hatred for Jews and for Israel.

00:25:40.140 She prayed in Twitter.

00:25:42.220 She said, I pray that Allah wakes up people to the evils of Israel. 1.00

00:25:48.380 Israel has hypnotized the world. 1.00

00:25:50.100 That is language that you reserve for special contempt.

00:25:54.920 That's not just the same as criticizing some other country.

00:26:00.440 Arthur Schlesinger, a liberal historian, used to say,

00:26:03.540 anti-Catholicism is the anti-Semitism of the left.

00:26:06.200 Now we're finding out anti-Semitism is the anti-Semitism of the left.

00:26:09.700 They are on this issue of race.

00:26:12.120 They are totally unprincipled.

00:26:13.520 They can't answer even their own colleagues who call them out for it.

00:26:16.560 And what do they do?

00:26:17.300 They do what Elie Mistal did.

00:26:18.640 They say, you don't have an opinion.

00:26:20.500 You can't only, my opinion's right because of the color of my skin.

00:26:23.460 Stop challenging my opinion because I can't defend my opinion.

00:26:27.880 That's what they're saying because they have no argument.

00:26:31.660 None whatsoever.

00:26:33.840 And I, it even threw some clarity for me.

00:26:37.880 I've never thought that the left had principles.

00:26:39.660 But I, I sort of thought maybe in their own really narrow way, they're, they're following a principled position.

00:26:47.200 They're not. 0.86

00:26:48.120 They're hypocrites on the environment. 1.00

00:26:49.860 They're hypocrites on race. 1.00

00:26:51.820 They, it is all just a naked power grab. 0.99

00:26:54.480 A naked power grab for socialism under the guise of environmentalism.

00:26:58.260 A naked power grab for censorship under the guise of racism or anti-racism.

00:27:04.460 And there you have Donald Trump, the reality TV star, casino owner, real estate developer from New York.

00:27:13.560 A guy that you shouldn't expect to have principles.

00:27:15.320 He's the only guy with principles among them.

00:27:17.540 We will get to why CNN thinks he's Hitler in a second.

00:27:20.620 Then obviously we have to talk about that Michael Jackson documentary and the political lessons that we can learn from a pop star molesting little kids.

00:27:26.920 But first, you got to go to dailywire.com.

00:27:28.800 Ten bucks a month, $100 for an annual membership.

00:27:30.980 You get me, you get the Andrew Klavan show.

00:27:33.100 You get the Ben Shapiro show.

00:27:34.020 You get to ask questions in the mailbag.

00:27:35.560 You get the Matt Walsh show.

00:27:37.040 You get, you get everything.

00:27:38.820 You get so much.

00:27:39.880 And you get this.

00:27:41.540 The leftist tears Tumblr.

00:27:46.020 That's that CPAC vintage.

00:27:48.260 That is that delicious CPAC vintage.

00:27:50.320 Two hours of unadulterated Trump.

00:27:52.860 And we've only got more to come.

00:27:55.220 Go to Daily Wire.

00:27:56.000 We'll be right back.

00:28:04.020 So, CNN decides that they're going to finally have to react to this CPAC speech.

00:28:15.260 How are they going to do it?

00:28:16.060 Donald Trump called them out.

00:28:17.120 He exposed them for what they are.

00:28:18.700 He exposed people in this country who hate this country.

00:28:21.700 He specifically, using real examples, he has exposed his critics on the right through his success, through his effective conservative administration.

00:28:30.620 So, what is the last argument that CNN can possibly make?

00:28:34.920 I'll give you a hint. 0.91

00:28:35.860 It's the argument that every dumb freshman college kid makes before he learns that the first person to invoke Adolf Hitler in an argument loses the argument. 0.80

00:28:46.800 Sam, the idea of preserving heritage taps into historically darker times, certainly. 0.90

00:28:52.560 Not only that, though, you say what we heard from the president in those remarks also could pose a national security concern.

00:29:00.120 Well, Ana, his statement makes me sick.

00:29:02.100 On a personal level, preserving our heritage, reclaiming our heritage, that sounds a lot like a certain leader that killed members of my family and about six million other Jews in the 1940s.

00:29:13.520 I forgot. Heritage is the Holocaust. 0.99

00:29:18.000 Yep. That's it.

00:29:19.800 The Heritage Foundation.

00:29:21.420 How the hell are they still allowed to operate?

00:29:24.440 We've got the Heritage Foundation.

00:29:26.080 I thought they were just a sort of mild-mannered conservative policy wonk think tank.

00:29:30.400 No, apparently they're Holocaust advocates.

00:29:35.200 Is that what it would be?

00:29:36.100 A Holocaust proponent? 0.88

00:29:37.180 I don't know.

00:29:37.580 If you mention heritage, you think of your family heritage, your national heritage, your religious heritage.

00:29:46.000 You're basically Hitler. 0.84

00:29:48.760 It's kind of funny because there was a clip floating around of Joe Biden saying exactly the same thing as Trump.

00:29:53.840 You can find it from the 08 campaign.

00:29:55.980 It said, we need to preserve our heritage.

00:29:57.480 I wonder if this lady would say that Joe Biden is another Hitler.

00:30:02.560 Probably not.

00:30:03.300 If the left had principles, they would argue with the points that Donald Trump is really making.

00:30:12.900 If the left had principles, they would say, we don't want to preserve our national heritage because we don't like our national heritage, because we don't like our nation.

00:30:23.040 We don't like our country.

00:30:24.720 That's fine.

00:30:25.520 That's a fair argument to make.

00:30:28.200 Donald Trump says, I like our country.

00:30:29.540 I want to preserve our heritage.

00:30:30.640 The left says, we hate our country.

00:30:32.280 We want it to be completely different.

00:30:33.780 As Barack Obama said, I want to fundamentally transform the country.

00:30:38.820 That's an honest argument.

00:30:41.220 And Obama, at his best, was making an honest argument. 0.99

00:30:44.580 But the left isn't doing that anymore because they don't have any principles, because they're total hypocrites. 0.99

00:30:50.620 And then the other thing that they do is they gaslight. 0.97

00:30:54.320 So they tell you that reality, as Donald Trump observes it, is not reality, and that fantasy is reality.

00:31:02.240 She goes on.

00:31:03.500 But on a national security level, the president talks about preserving our heritage as a catch-all for implementing policies that misallocate resources.

00:31:11.700 He pretends that there are massive flows of illegal immigrants coming over our borders and is spending billions of dollars on a border wall emergency instead of paying attention to real national security threats.

00:31:24.620 He sounds a lot like despotic leaders that have talked about white heritage and white nationalism around the world and is putting resources in the wrong place and pretending that there are foreign people trying to influence our country in a way that just isn't accurate.

00:31:39.580 He sounds a lot like people who talk about white nationalism.

00:31:45.560 Can she cite any example?

00:31:48.060 She's trying to say he's David Duke.

00:31:49.520 Can she cite any example of this?

00:31:52.200 She's trying to say he's Hitler.

00:31:54.200 Can she cite any example?

00:31:55.120 Of course not.

00:31:55.960 But then she goes further.

00:31:57.460 It's not just the empty insults.

00:32:00.480 She says that there's no such thing as a foreign invasion.

00:32:04.980 Donald Trump is pretending that foreigners are entering our country.

00:32:07.800 We're apprehending almost 2,000 of them a day.

00:32:11.960 We're at relative record highs of illegal aliens pouring across our border.

00:32:19.080 And then when you consider that this has been a problem for 40 years, you have 11 million, 12 million illegal aliens here.

00:32:26.600 Then she says, Donald Trump says that those illegal aliens want to influence our politics.

00:32:31.380 Yeah, your party is registering them to vote.

00:32:35.940 When you go to the DMV in places like California, they have motor voter laws.

00:32:40.120 They just register you to vote when you get your driver's license.

00:32:43.320 An illegal alien can get a driver's license in many places.

00:32:47.580 And so they can be registered to vote.

00:32:50.580 You've seen cases of voter fraud turn up.

00:32:53.540 Why do you think Democrats want this flow of illegal aliens anyway? 1.00

00:32:57.000 Because statistically, they are overwhelmingly likely to vote for Democrats.

00:33:01.420 That's why they changed their tune on it.

00:33:03.640 She's telling us that reality is not so.

00:33:05.920 There's nothing principled about that.

00:33:09.160 And this is why.

00:33:10.480 I think some people get angry because I don't criticize Donald Trump as much as they would like me to.

00:33:17.920 I don't say, oh, he passed this policy this way instead of this way.

00:33:23.780 Oh, he tweeted something that I don't like.

00:33:26.020 Oh, he wag, wag, wag.

00:33:27.340 This is terrible.

00:33:28.040 This is awful.

00:33:29.520 Look at the alternatives.

00:33:32.360 If we're talking about the dignity of office, if we're talking about integrity,

00:33:35.900 if we're talking about actually accomplishing something in politics,

00:33:39.080 who am I supposed to prefer?

00:33:42.200 His disingenuous critics on the right?

00:33:44.960 Like at the bulwark, which is sending leftists to mock pro-lifers?

00:33:50.020 Are they the dignified people?

00:33:51.860 How about the people on the left?

00:33:54.300 Who are race and climate hustlers?

00:33:58.220 Who obviously do not believe the things that they are preaching?

00:34:01.820 And who are just trying to take power? 1.00

00:34:05.140 The ones who say, shut up if you're white. 1.00

00:34:07.540 The ones who say, I need to take away your political system. 1.00

00:34:12.200 We need to utterly transform the republic and remove your political liberty

00:34:16.760 in the name of the sun monster, which I don't even believe in.

00:34:21.440 Donald Trump, of all the shocking things,

00:34:24.680 Donald Trump seems to be the guy in politics right now

00:34:27.280 at the top levels with the most integrity.

00:34:30.920 Now, some people are really surprised by this.

00:34:33.660 I don't know.

00:34:34.280 I think maybe it's because they got a little wrapped up with anti-Trumpism

00:34:39.720 and they forget that politics is a really tough game.

00:34:43.880 Politics attracts pretty gross people sometimes.

00:34:47.620 Politics rewards cynicism a lot of the time. 0.98

00:34:50.680 Politics is a dirty, dirty business.

00:34:53.940 And so President Trump comes along.

00:34:56.540 He actually does what he says he's going to do.

00:34:59.340 I'll take it.

00:35:00.320 That's a win.

00:35:01.180 I don't need to pile on disingenuously.

00:35:04.260 I'll criticize him here and there.

00:35:06.280 Like, I don't think he should go blue.

00:35:07.640 I don't think he should use swear words in public.

00:35:09.840 It's a minor point.

00:35:11.680 I hope he takes my advice.

00:35:14.520 But I don't think the man's presidency should go down over a couple swear words.

00:35:18.820 Likewise, I don't think his presidency should go down

00:35:21.020 because the FBI doesn't like him or the DOJ doesn't like him

00:35:25.840 or the Democrats don't like him

00:35:27.000 or because he was going to build a hotel in Russia three years ago

00:35:31.540 or because he was a real estate developer in New York.

00:35:35.320 No way, no how.

00:35:37.400 I really, I hope that the people who obsess about principles,

00:35:42.260 who almost make an idol of their principles,

00:35:45.140 would look at that reality,

00:35:48.180 the reality of where the principles lie right now.

00:35:50.960 I think it's clear that Donald Trump is doing the most admirable job.

00:35:54.760 Maybe that's damning with faint praise,

00:35:57.440 but CPAC really, really opened that for me.

00:36:00.860 Before we go, we've got to talk about Michael Jackson

00:36:02.700 because this shows you a very important lesson about celebrity

00:36:09.120 and how our politics has gotten to where they are,

00:36:12.180 how the mainstream media have been able to twist reality in the way that they have.

00:36:16.840 And it all comes down to a weird pop star who molested kids.

00:36:20.440 If you haven't seen it,

00:36:21.420 here's just a quick clip of the accusers in this documentary

00:36:24.340 describing what happened to them.

00:36:26.900 You know, he settled a case in 1993

00:36:28.780 and then he went to trial in 2005.

00:36:31.640 And Wade, you got on the stand and you testified on his behalf

00:36:34.360 and vehemently denied that any sexual activity had taken place.

00:36:38.100 Yes.

00:36:38.780 I knew I was lying.

00:36:40.000 I knew that I had to lie.

00:36:41.740 When I was 11 first, you know,

00:36:43.760 I felt I had no other choice.

00:36:45.900 And at 22, what was your reasoning?

00:36:48.300 22, you know, it's so complicated,

00:36:51.220 but it's a combination of still lots of fear wrapped up with shame.

00:36:58.520 My whole life, my whole career would fall apart.

00:37:02.020 And then wrapped up in shame.

00:37:03.500 He always made me believe that I wanted everything that we did sexually

00:37:10.540 just as much, if not more, than him.

00:37:13.460 I expect people not to believe.

00:37:15.280 There's a lot of threats that are thrown my way

00:37:18.480 from what seems like angry MJ fans.

00:37:23.360 It goes on and on.

00:37:24.880 The documentary itself, I watched it last night,

00:37:27.140 is pretty disturbing.

00:37:30.520 The political point I want to draw

00:37:32.520 is why people defend Michael Jackson.

00:37:36.360 Why they believed that a guy who regularly slept in the same bed as little kids

00:37:40.460 could not have molested them.

00:37:43.900 Why the mainstream media covered up for him.

00:37:46.140 Why the parents brought their kids to sleep with this man. 0.94

00:37:50.240 And the answer is celebrity.

00:37:54.120 Just on the main point that's being discussed,

00:37:58.240 did Michael Jackson molest the kids or not?

00:38:01.460 Because in fairness to him,

00:38:03.840 a lot of false allegations get thrown around,

00:38:05.780 especially at famous people, especially at rich people.

00:38:08.560 We've seen a lot of those false allegations in the last couple years.

00:38:12.580 We just saw one a few weeks ago.

00:38:14.260 Jussie Smollett lobbed a completely false accusation of a hate crime

00:38:21.460 against, basically against Donald Trump,

00:38:24.320 against Trump supporters.

00:38:26.740 Because they're politically powerful right now,

00:38:28.960 he thought it would benefit him. 0.94

00:38:29.960 We saw those ridiculous allegations against Brett Kavanaugh. 0.95

00:38:33.460 We've seen a lot of fake allegations.

00:38:34.880 However, Vanity Fair lays out some essential points in this case.

00:38:40.240 Here's what we know for a fact about Michael Jackson.

00:38:44.440 At the age of 34,

00:38:46.200 Michael Jackson slept over 30 consecutive nights

00:38:50.180 in the same bed as Geordie Chandler,

00:38:53.100 his little boy, 10-year-old boy,

00:38:55.460 at the boy's mother's house and father's house.

00:38:58.160 Five boys that slept with Michael Jackson in the same bed

00:39:03.320 have accused him of sexual abuse.

00:39:05.520 Michael Jackson paid the Chandlers $23 million

00:39:08.340 to stop talking about it.

00:39:12.060 Chandler, Geordie Chandler, correctly described the,

00:39:16.100 this is a little disgusting, 0.92

00:39:17.420 the discoloring on the underside of Michael Jackson's genitals. 0.98

00:39:21.440 Because Michael Jackson suffers, apparently,

00:39:24.340 or suffered from vitiligo,

00:39:26.920 a skin discoloration disease.

00:39:29.200 The kid correctly described the discoloring

00:39:31.920 on the underside of his genitals. 0.98

00:39:34.380 The hallway leading to Michael Jackson's bedroom 0.74

00:39:36.160 was wired for sound

00:39:37.380 so that any footsteps would produce a lot of ding-dong noises

00:39:40.600 and there would be a warning that people were coming.

00:39:43.060 Michael Jackson kept an extensive collection of pornography

00:39:45.720 and studies of naked boys next to his bed,

00:39:48.760 fingerprints of the boys that he slept in the same bed with

00:39:52.040 were found next to his

00:39:54.100 on some of the pages of those books.

00:39:57.220 No one ever saw Michael Jackson sleep with a woman.

00:40:00.120 The parents were given tons of expensive gifts

00:40:02.200 and the fathers of two boys who accused Michael Jackson

00:40:05.380 were estranged from their sons

00:40:06.920 and they ended up killing themselves.

00:40:10.180 It's very hard to imagine a world

00:40:12.820 where Michael Jackson did not molest children.

00:40:16.500 Now, he was acquitted on his trial.

00:40:18.160 First vote was nine to three.

00:40:19.800 Nine people said he was guilty.

00:40:20.940 Three people said,

00:40:22.140 or nine people said he was innocent.

00:40:23.340 Three people said he was guilty.

00:40:24.740 He was eventually found not guilty.

00:40:29.540 One juror publicly said later

00:40:31.200 that they had a gut feeling

00:40:33.080 that Michael Jackson molested the kids

00:40:34.680 but they just felt the prosecution

00:40:36.100 didn't prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.

00:40:39.340 It's very clear

00:40:40.520 that Michael Jackson molested those kids.

00:40:43.120 It's hard to imagine any reality otherwise.

00:40:46.020 So what's the political point here?

00:40:47.340 The political point is the power of celebrity.

00:40:49.540 If you've ever met a celebrity,

00:40:51.320 you'll know you can get starstruck.

00:40:53.400 I've been starstruck.

00:40:54.260 I live in LA.

00:40:54.800 I see celebrities all the time.

00:40:56.260 And still, sometimes,

00:40:57.380 I'll get a little starstruck.

00:40:59.680 It's someone you've seen on a big screen.

00:41:01.720 Somebody like Michael Jackson,

00:41:03.120 biggest pop star in the whole world.

00:41:05.720 There's really nothing like it today

00:41:07.120 because social media brings our stars

00:41:10.380 so much closer to us.

00:41:11.440 It makes them so much more accessible.

00:41:14.660 But especially back then,

00:41:16.140 he was so much larger than life.

00:41:19.580 Parents brought their kids

00:41:20.920 to sleep in Michael Jackson's bed.

00:41:22.780 They let him come over

00:41:23.760 and sleep in their children's beds.

00:41:25.640 Celebrity is so powerful.

00:41:28.340 So powerful.

00:41:29.480 This guy,

00:41:30.460 when you look at it now,

00:41:31.680 for people who grew up

00:41:32.640 after Michael Jackson was a big thing,

00:41:34.920 you know,

00:41:35.740 after the allegations came out,

00:41:37.740 you just kind of look at him

00:41:38.660 as a weird creep 0.99

00:41:39.380 who obviously molested children. 0.90

00:41:40.740 But the people who knew him before,

00:41:44.100 they can't imagine him.

00:41:46.180 You'd see videos of him holding hands,

00:41:47.860 walking around with little kids constantly.

00:41:50.960 Celebrity is so powerful.

00:41:53.120 And this is how the news media operate.

00:41:55.620 This is how the left operates.

00:41:57.760 This is what they bet on.

00:41:59.840 The guy on TV said it,

00:42:01.280 so it must be true.

00:42:02.860 This is what they bet on.

00:42:04.940 This is why I just talked about this

00:42:06.380 on Drew's show today.

00:42:07.200 From 1989 to 2013,

00:42:09.360 there were over 200 positive mentions

00:42:11.400 of Donald Trump in rap songs.

00:42:13.260 Then in 2015,

00:42:14.360 the year he declares as a candidate,

00:42:16.760 instantly all of the mentions turn negative

00:42:18.800 because the media have to be mobilized

00:42:22.120 to serve the left.

00:42:23.420 They always do.

00:42:25.820 And so we see these people on.

00:42:29.140 I mean, this is why the left

00:42:30.240 has been able to push

00:42:31.960 a basically unpopular agenda

00:42:34.420 because they have all of the celebrity with them.

00:42:37.200 This is why we say,

00:42:37.940 who cares what the actors think?

00:42:39.480 We all do.

00:42:40.200 We all actually care

00:42:41.200 what these celebrities think.

00:42:42.240 I'm sorry to say.

00:42:43.420 We might not think that we do.

00:42:44.700 We might think that we don't care.

00:42:45.860 But it does affect the culture.

00:42:48.000 It does seep down.

00:42:50.920 And the left relies on this.

00:42:53.260 The way that conservatives

00:42:55.720 can start to break that spell

00:42:57.320 is for us to use that power

00:42:59.560 of celebrity as well.

00:43:00.980 For us to turn it on them.

00:43:02.260 And we're already doing this.

00:43:03.640 I mean, this is

00:43:04.320 one of the main arguments,

00:43:07.320 the principled arguments

00:43:08.620 against Donald Trump

00:43:09.720 is that Donald Trump

00:43:10.560 is nothing but a celebrity.

00:43:13.000 He's just a game show host.

00:43:15.100 He's just a tabloid star.

00:43:17.300 All the principled conservatives

00:43:19.540 opposed nominating that guy.

00:43:25.340 Celebrity matters.

00:43:26.300 The last most effective

00:43:27.500 Republican president we had.

00:43:28.760 What was he?

00:43:29.380 He was a Hollywood star.

00:43:30.440 He was a celebrity.

00:43:31.320 His name was Ronald Reagan.

00:43:33.640 There's nothing principled

00:43:36.600 about intentionally losing

00:43:38.260 all the time.

00:43:39.820 There's nothing principled

00:43:40.760 about not reacting

00:43:45.040 to political realities.

00:43:46.660 That's not principled. 0.99

00:43:47.820 That's foolish. 0.99

00:43:49.720 And we saw over the weekend 0.99

00:43:51.480 the biggest celebrity

00:43:52.460 on planet Earth,

00:43:53.440 Donald Trump,

00:43:54.100 go out there

00:43:54.820 and for the first time

00:43:55.780 in our lifetimes

00:43:56.520 turn that celebrity

00:43:58.820 for political good

00:44:00.600 with great political skill

00:44:03.100 with great political principle.

00:44:05.700 And you can tell

00:44:07.180 the Democrats are running scared.

00:44:08.800 They're launching

00:44:09.300 a zillion investigations.

00:44:10.900 Maybe we'll try

00:44:11.220 to get into that tomorrow.

00:44:12.700 They're really so desperate

00:44:14.920 to take him down.

00:44:16.200 Now more than ever

00:44:17.000 is the time for conservatives

00:44:19.160 as CPAC is supposed to do

00:44:21.380 to unify,

00:44:23.320 to come together

00:44:24.100 and to defeat the left.

00:44:26.160 They are terrified.

00:44:27.400 They're terrified

00:44:28.000 because this is effective.

00:44:30.600 Conservatives are being effective now

00:44:32.440 for the first time

00:44:33.160 in a long time.

00:44:34.200 We should relish that.

00:44:35.180 We should celebrate that.

00:44:36.660 We should lift up our principles

00:44:38.400 on that great wave.

00:44:40.440 And I think for the right,

00:44:42.700 as of right now,

00:44:43.660 the future is looking very bright.

00:44:45.660 Come back tomorrow

00:44:46.340 and we'll get into

00:44:47.320 all the bad stuff.

00:44:48.100 Okay, in the meantime,

00:45:18.440 Hey guys,

00:45:19.640 over on the Matt Wall Show today,

00:45:20.740 we're going to be talking about

00:45:21.580 what I have noticed

00:45:23.360 to be a startling similarity

00:45:25.660 between my two-year-old son

00:45:27.940 and socialists.

00:45:29.380 There is a real commonality

00:45:31.780 between the modern socialists

00:45:33.580 and toddlers.

00:45:34.840 And I want to talk more about that.

00:45:36.460 Also, a very horrifying,

00:45:39.460 shocking documentary

00:45:41.920 about Michael Jackson

00:45:42.940 aired on HBO last night.

00:45:45.100 And the first part of it anyway.

00:45:46.780 A lot of people

00:45:47.180 are talking about this thing.

00:45:48.920 It only reinforced

00:45:49.940 what any sane person

00:45:51.560 already knew about Michael Jackson,

00:45:53.120 yet his fans

00:45:53.980 are still defending him somehow.

00:45:55.580 Why is that?

00:45:56.760 We'll try to get to the bottom of that.

00:45:58.320 And also, I'll answer

00:45:59.160 your emails today

00:46:00.460 over on the Matt Wall Show.
