The Michael Knowles Show - Ep. 343 - All Politics is About Religion

00:00:00.000 Freshman Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar prove the age-old

00:00:07.020 maxim. At bottom, all political problems are theological problems. We will examine the

00:00:13.180 politics of religion, the religion of politics, from Palestinian rockets to Pennsylvania mosques

00:00:18.500 to gospel hymns for the Green New Deal. I'm Michael Knowles, and this is The Michael Knowles Show.

00:00:30.000 Major violence in Israel over the weekend. Big takeaways here are prominent Democrats in the 0.97

00:00:36.500 United States are blaming the victims, and they are siding with terrorists against a United States

00:00:43.020 ally. The reason why is that all politics is ultimately about religion. Every political

00:00:50.200 question, I know you think it might not be, every political question ultimately boils down

00:00:55.520 to a theological question. We'll see why in a second. But first, we're never going to agree on

00:00:59.220 everything. I think we can agree, however, that we could all use more sleep. I certainly could. I

00:01:04.200 only got 17 hours last night. Getting a great night's sleep is easier and more affordable than

00:01:08.320 you think. You don't need a new expensive mattress or sleeping pills. You just need to change your

00:01:12.740 sheets. That's why you should check out Bowl & Branch. Everything Bowl & Branch makes, from bedding

00:01:16.960 to blankets, is made from 100% pure organic cotton, which means they start out super soft, and they get

00:01:23.240 even softer over time. I used to sleep basically on sandpaper. Then I got these sheets.

00:01:29.220 They are so unbelievable. I've stayed at a really, really nice hotel like twice in my life,

00:01:34.280 and it feels just like that. I didn't realize you could get them at home, because luxury sheets can

00:01:38.480 cost up to $1,000 in the store. With Bowl & Branch, they're only a couple hundred bucks. They cut out

00:01:43.260 the middleman, send them right to you. Everyone who tries Bowl & Branch loves them. That's why they have

00:01:48.020 thousands of five-star reviews. Even three U.S. presidents sleep on Bowl & Branch sheets. Treat yourself

00:01:53.680 like a president. Shipping is free. You can try them for 30 nights. If you don't love them, send them back

00:01:58.160 for a refund, but I doubt that you'll want to send them back. There's no risk and no reason not to

00:02:02.520 give them a try. To get started, right now my listeners get $50 off your first set of sheets

00:02:29.160 Ultimately, this story, the story out of Pennsylvania, the story with AOC and the Green

00:02:34.100 New Deal, all of this boils down to a religious question. So what specifically is happening?

00:02:43.220 In Israel, Islamic terrorists in Gaza launched over 600 rockets at Israel. Iron Dome, which

00:02:51.980 is their defense system, was able to intercept 173 of those rockets. Obviously, it's not going

00:02:57.300 to intercept all of them. Four people at least have been killed. Dozens have been wounded.

00:03:01.900 Why is the violence breaking out? I think the Israel-Palestine-Middle Eastern conflict

00:03:08.020 is so complicated. It goes back so far. It involves so many religious questions. I think a lot of

00:03:13.500 Americans just say, all right, I don't want anything to do with it. Never mind. I don't care. 1.00

00:03:18.040 Who knows? It's very complicated. Fair enough. You can at least understand a few pieces of

00:03:28.080 it because it's not just about Israel. It's not just about the Arabs in Israel and outside

00:03:33.240 of Israel. It's not just about the other countries in the region. This involves the United States

00:03:37.760 as well. How so? The big cause here for this attack, I believe, is that Donald Trump is no longer

00:03:45.840 kowtowing to the Iranian regime, to the illegitimate Mullah Islamic regime in Iran. He's no longer

00:03:53.180 sending them pallets full of cash on airplanes like Barack Obama did. He's no longer thanking them for

00:03:58.520 abducting our sailors like Obama did. He is taking a hard line. He has a very strong national security

00:04:04.460 advisor in John Bolton, and they are saying, no, we're not going to be pushed around by this thug, 0.53

00:04:09.540 illegitimate regime in Iran. Deal with it. So the U.S., when Trump came into power, 0.86

00:04:16.860 got us out of that awful Iran deal, hampered Iran's ability to get a weapon, and reinstituted

00:04:23.300 sanctions against the Iranian regime. Meanwhile, our ally Israel has targeted Iranian interests in Syria,

00:04:30.160 and they have gone after Iranian interests in direct military strikes. So now what Iran has been

00:04:38.640 doing is saying that they're going to strike back at both the U.S. and Israel through proxies. So

00:04:43.960 they're going to use groups like Hamas in Gaza. They're going to use groups like Islamic Jihad.

00:04:49.000 They're going to use the terrorist groups that they have funded for decades, and they're going to strike

00:04:53.060 at U.S. interests, and they're going to strike at our ally in Israel. So what is the United States doing?

00:04:57.820 Now the United States has deployed an aircraft carrier, the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group,

00:05:03.360 and a bomber task force to the region to send a message that we are not going to take provocation

00:05:08.600 lying down. John Bolton, one of the greatest characters in the history of American diplomacy,

00:05:15.440 came out, and he issued a message to Iran. He said, quote,

00:05:21.020 The United States is not seeking war with the Iranian regime, but we are fully prepared to respond to any

00:05:27.220 attack, whether by proxy, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or regular Iranian forces.

00:05:34.180 So the violence begins, in particular, how? The violence begins when a terrorist group called

00:05:40.340 Islamic Jihad used a sniper to shoot Israeli troops and wounded two of those Israeli troops last week.

00:05:48.840 That's what began the spate of violence. Then there was, there were repercussions to that. Then there

00:05:54.500 were rockets fired from Gaza, and then you get this violence that we've seen now for five or six days.

00:05:59.980 How did members of Congress in the United States respond to this? Well, two members in particular,

00:06:06.900 Democrat members Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, those freshman representatives far left wing,

00:06:14.340 how did they respond? They defended the terrorists, of course.

00:06:18.500 First, Rashida Tlaib retweeted someone who was criticizing a New York Times story. So the tweet

00:06:24.760 that she retweeted said, quote, This is a stunningly irresponsible and misleading headline,

00:06:31.400 New York Times. Israel shot dozens of unarmed Palestinian protesters in Gaza on Friday and killed

00:06:38.100 four Palestinians, including two protesters in Gaza, before any projectiles were launched.

00:06:43.440 Okay. Now that tweet that Rashida Tlaib retweeted is itself misleading because what it's suggesting is

00:06:51.940 that Israel provoked the rocket attacks. Israel didn't provoke the rocket attacks. Iran acting

00:06:58.420 through Islamic Jihad provoked the response from Israel, which then led to rocket attacks because a

00:07:04.840 terrorist sniper started firing on Israeli troops. So what this person is suggesting is that when terrorists

00:07:12.300 from Gaza start firing on Israeli troops, what Israel should do is nothing. They should just take it 1.00

00:07:18.900 lying down. No, come on, we shouldn't. It would be wrong to fight back against terrorists shooting our

00:07:25.520 troops. That's what that lunatic says. But the more troubling thing is that a member of the United States 1.00

00:07:32.760 Congress then retweeted that Islamist propaganda. Now, Tlaib keeps pushing the propaganda. Okay. She then

00:07:43.220 pushes her own tweet. It says, quote, When will the world stop dehumanizing our Palestinian people who just

00:07:50.420 want to be free? I'll just pause there for a second. Did you catch that? Our Palestinian people?

00:07:58.220 Are we talking about some group of Palestinian Arabs living in New Jersey or some group of

00:08:05.220 Palestinian Arabs living in Arizona? No. Who are our Palestinian people? Who does Tlaib refer to as

00:08:13.360 our? Who does she view as us? Who is she allying herself with? Our people who just want to be free.

00:08:20.620 The tweet goes on. Headlines like this and framing it in this way just feed into the continued lack of

00:08:26.380 responsibility on Israel who unjustly oppress and target Palestinian children and families. Hashtag free

00:08:32.940 Palestine. So this is pure terrorist propaganda. It's the only way to put it. A member of Congress, Rashida

00:08:39.100 Tlaib, has become a mouthpiece for some of the worst terrorists in the world. That's, you know, I don't, there's

00:08:47.900 no more diplomatic way I could say it. And listen, the more interesting thing, I mean, I've, I've suspected

00:08:54.380 this for a long time with Rashida Tlaib. It's clear she doesn't like Israel. It's clear she doesn't like

00:08:58.560 Jews. And it's clear that she sides with some of the worst terrorists in the world. But listen to 1.00

00:09:05.100 the language. She, she's siding with a group, these, this group of Arabs in so-called Palestine that

00:09:12.120 elected Hamas to be their government, that elected a terrorist organization to be their government.

00:09:17.160 She's siding with them over an actual ally and a Western-style democracy in the Middle East. 0.63

00:09:21.920 But the language, free Palestine, the people just want to be free. We've talked about this theme for

00:09:28.820 weeks now, this theme that goes throughout all of Western modernity, which is liberation,

00:09:34.640 emancipation. We always want to emancipate. We always want to liberate. We always want to be free.

00:09:41.180 Free is good, not free is bad. Who could disagree with that? Well, what happens when freedom means the

00:09:48.740 opposite of freedom? This is why you've always got to watch out for people who only speak in the terms 0.73

00:09:56.020 of abstract rights, human rights, liberty, equality, fraternity. Whenever they're just talking in those

00:10:02.620 totally abstract terms that are not connected to anything on the ground, that are not connected to

00:10:07.880 actual legal rights, that are not connected to actual people in actual places with actual institutions,

00:10:13.800 when they're just using those words, chances are they're demagogues. Chances are they're trying to

00:10:19.460 trick you. When she says free, she means Arabs in this region get another state. That's what she, 1.00

00:10:29.480 they just want to be free. How many Muslim states are there in the region? How many dozens of Muslim

00:10:34.640 states are there in the region? There's one Jewish state in the world. There are dozens of Muslim states

00:10:39.820 in that region. And now she's saying we need to take away part of the Jewish state to have another

00:10:43.860 Muslim state. Otherwise, these Arabs can't be free. Okay. Now, now what would that state look like? 1.00

00:10:52.400 If let's, let's just totally indulge the left's preference here and say, we're going to give them

00:10:57.640 freedom. We're going to give them a state. What would that state look like? We'll get to in a second,

00:11:01.520 but first admit it. You think that cyber crime is something that happens to other people,

00:11:05.900 not you. Nobody wants your data, right? Hackers can't possibly grab your passwords or credit card

00:11:12.240 details, but you'd be wrong. Stealing data from unsuspecting people on public Wi-Fi is one of the

00:11:17.220 simplest and cheapest ways for hackers to make money. And something tells me that you probably look at some

00:11:22.740 pretty weird websites on the internet. You probably look at some sites that you wouldn't want to get out

00:11:27.880 in the public. You know what I'm talking about? Late at night, you close the blinds, turn the lights off,

00:11:31.740 read the daily wire. Yeah, I think we understand each other. You could be writing your passwords

00:11:37.600 and credit card numbers on a huge billboard for the rest of the world to see, which is why I decided

00:11:41.960 to take action. To protect myself, I use ExpressVPN. ExpressVPN secures and anonymizes your internet

00:12:32.360 Let's take Rashida Tlaib's tweet on the surface, just at its face value. They want to be free,

00:12:38.040 and to be free, they need a state. What would that state look like? It would be a state run by Hamas. 0.96

00:12:45.320 You would be giving the terrorist organization Hamas, which targets civilians, doesn't just 0.97

00:12:51.340 accidentally kill civilians, targets civilians, women and children, uses them as bulletproof vests,

00:12:58.080 not bulletproof for the women and children, uses them as protection from bombs and guns.

00:13:05.860 You would be giving them a country. Free Palestine would mean giving international recognition 0.93

00:13:13.920 to a group of people that intentionally undermine the international order. You'd be giving a nation 0.74

00:13:21.800 to people who undermine our system of nation states. It is a freedom that would undercut

00:13:27.380 everybody else's freedom. Ilhan Omar actually goes further than Rashida Tlaib. She tweets out,

00:13:34.280 quote, how many more protesters must be shot, rockets must be fired, and little kids must be killed 0.99

00:13:39.800 until the endless cycle of violence ends. The status quo of occupation and humanitarian crisis 0.96

00:13:44.920 in Gaza is unsustainable. Only real justice can bring about security and lasting peace.

00:13:50.740 How many more protesters must be shot? How many more rockets must be fired? I don't know.

00:13:54.860 Tell the people in Gaza to stop firing rockets. It's up to them, not up to Israel. They're the ones 0.64

00:14:00.400 firing the rockets. They're the ones killing the little kids. It's not an endless cycle of violence 0.96

00:14:04.780 necessarily. It's an endless cycle of violence because terrorists in Gaza keep firing on a

00:14:09.420 legitimate state. And in part, the only blame that Israel deserves in this is that they haven't simply

00:14:15.600 wiped out that government of Hamas, that terrorist organization, completely. That they haven't just 0.59

00:14:20.880 strung up every single one of those filthy terrorists one after another. That's the only blame 0.98

00:14:27.440 that Israel deserves in this case is that they haven't been harsher on Hamas terrorists. 0.80

00:14:33.880 Now, what Israel is saying is we can't be harsher on Hamas terrorists because Hamas terrorists are 0.72

00:14:39.500 using civilians as human shields. And so we don't want to kill all of these civilians. Fair enough.

00:14:45.380 Honorable position to hold. But the endless cycle of violence is being uniformly pushed by terrorist

00:14:54.200 Islamists in Hamas and other terrorist organizations in that region. How many more? How many more rockets

00:15:03.000 is Islamic Jihad going to launch? Blaming the victim. That's what Omar is doing. That's what Tlaib is

00:15:07.760 doing. So why are they siding with the terrorists? The reason they're siding with the terrorists is that

00:15:13.680 all political problems ultimately are theological problems. Ultimately, what it seems to me,

00:15:21.140 judging from Ilhan Omar's tweets, for instance, judging from statements that they've made,

00:15:26.580 judging from them giggling at Islamic terrorist organizations, what it seems to me is they are

00:15:31.340 denying Jews' claim to Israel. They're denying Jews' religious claim to Israel, and they are denying 0.88

00:15:36.680 Jews' historical claim to Israel. The religion, the people in the religion have informed the history

00:15:44.800 of that region, and so they deny the historical claim. Now, historically, Muslims have also made a claim

00:15:49.900 to Jerusalem. What is the Muslim claim to Jerusalem? A lot of people don't know this because most people

00:15:55.100 haven't read the Quran. The Muslim claim to Jerusalem is a little weaker than the Jewish claim to Jerusalem.

00:16:01.600 The Muslim claim to Jerusalem is that one night Muhammad was mystically lifted up from Mecca,

00:16:09.460 and he was transported on a mythical creature to Jerusalem. And then there are all these other things

00:16:14.620 that kind of seem like fever dreams that come out of it. So the claim is he was mystically on a

00:16:20.820 winged horse brought from Mecca to Jerusalem. We don't have any evidence, of course, that a winged horse

00:16:26.600 brought Muhammad to Jerusalem, but that is the claim. It's based on a story in the Quran.

00:16:32.140 So the political question boils down to religion. Which religious group has a claim to the land?

00:16:38.840 And moreover, what is the difference between Jews and Arabs in the region?

00:16:46.740 You're talking about two different peoples in exactly the same place,

00:16:50.720 and yet they have very different societies, very different cultures. Why is that?

00:16:55.680 Is it some racial issue? Is it that Arabs are just less able to govern themselves than ethnic Jews? 0.99

00:17:02.320 I don't think so. I don't think there's any evidence for that.

00:17:04.140 Is it even culture primarily? I don't know. What is culture? Culture comes from cult. Culture comes

00:17:10.880 from, the two words, by the way, culture and cult, are linked etymologically. They both come from the

00:17:16.760 same place. What it means is, it's like Andrew Breitbart said, politics is downstream from culture.

00:17:21.720 Culture is downstream of what the culture worships, religion. So you've got these two religions. 0.56

00:17:27.840 You've got the people informed by Judaism, and also from the West, which was formed by Judaism,

00:17:36.960 and also Christianity, and also Greek philosophy. And you've got a culture that is informed by Islam.

00:17:44.620 And they form different peoples. They form different politics. They form different claims

00:17:48.380 to land. And they form different alliances. So the strategic question for the United States is,

00:17:54.120 who would we rather ally ourselves with? Would we rather ally ourselves with Israel or with Hamas? 0.69

00:18:02.280 Would you rather ally yourself with Bibi Netanyahu, who during the administration of Barack Obama was

00:18:08.120 the leader of the free world? Or would you rather ally yourself with Hamas terrorists, Western-style 0.75

00:18:14.480 democracy, or Islamist rogue pseudo-states? What would you rather ally yourself with? You can make the

00:18:20.860 religious question even more tangible. If you look, move out of Israel and you go to Philadelphia,

00:18:27.320 the Philadelphia chapter of the Muslim American Society posted a video over the past few days of

00:18:33.140 little kids talking about chopping off heads. I'll narrate this because they're singing in Arabic. 0.99

00:18:38.880 These are kids maybe 6, 12 years old, and they're singing,

00:18:43.220 Those who accept humiliation, what is the point in their existence? Those who reject oppression are the

00:18:48.420 ones who assert their existence. And they eliminate injustice from the land of the Arabs. Rebels, 0.89

00:18:56.640 rebels, rebels. They're wearing Palestinian headscarves as well. Glorious steeds call us and lead us onto 0.93

00:19:06.320 paths leading to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. The blood of martyrs protects us. Paradise needs real men.

00:19:13.820 The land of the prophet Muhammad's night journey is calling us, Jerusalem. Our Palestine must return 1.00

00:19:19.380 to us. O Saladin, your men are among us. Shame will be washed away. You need force in the Quran, 1.00

00:19:26.640 O free people. We must persevere no matter what happens. And with the help of the omnipotent Lord,

00:19:31.840 day will follow night. Take us, O ships, until we liberate our lands. Until we reach our shores and crush

00:19:41.460 the treacherous ones. Blow, O winds of paradise. Flow, O rivers of martyrs. My Islam is calling.

00:19:51.700 Who is going to heed its call? Rise, O righteous ones. Our martyrs sacrificed their lives without

00:19:57.300 hesitation. They attained paradise, and the scent of musk emanates from their bodies. 0.97

00:20:03.240 They compete with one another to reach paradise. Will Jerusalem be their capital city, 0.99

00:20:08.180 or will it be a hotbed for cowards? They mean Jews, by the way. We will defend the land of divine 1.00

00:20:13.920 guidance with our bodies, and we will sacrifice our souls without hesitation. We will chop off their 0.99

00:20:18.860 heads, and we will liberate the sorrowful and exalted Al-Aqsa Mosque. We will lead the army of Allah 1.00

00:20:24.420 fulfilling his promise, and we will subject them to eternal torture. Six to 12-year-old kids

00:20:30.760 posted by a mosque in Philadelphia. Not in Jerusalem, not in Gaza, not, nope, not in Mecca,

00:20:43.780 Philadelphia. This is being posted by the Muslim American Society.

00:20:50.500 Now, the person who posted that allegedly has been fired. The president of the Muslim American

00:20:55.420 Society, the executive director, says,

00:20:57.220 This video does not represent our understanding of Islam, nor the understanding of the mainstream

00:21:01.660 Muslim community. I hope that's true. I don't know if it's true. It's pretty weird that they 1.00

00:21:07.920 would post that video. It's pretty weird that that video exists. This is the religious question. So,

00:21:14.340 in America, we always ignore the actual religious question. We ignore the deep questions of our

00:21:21.120 politics. In part, it's because our system is built on religious freedom. But part of that religious

00:21:28.560 freedom is that we won't start chopping off each other's heads. Part of that religious freedom is

00:21:34.400 a tacit agreement among all of us that we won't do with those little six-year-olds in the video we're

00:21:38.840 singing about and chop off people's heads and exalt in their blood. If religious freedom encourages 1.00

00:21:47.280 people to start chopping off people's heads for believing in Christianity or Judaism, you have 0.97

00:21:52.800 undercut the entire point of that religious freedom. G.K. Chesterton has this line. He wrote,

00:21:59.120 There is a thought that stops thought, and that is the only thought that ought to be stopped.

00:22:04.240 There is a religious freedom that stops religious freedom. How could that possibly be true religious 1.00

00:22:11.200 freedom? At a certain point in the conversation, when you're talking about politics and culture and

00:22:16.300 religion, the phrase religious freedom is not enough. In our culture, we're so into this right

00:22:22.740 now. We say, you do you. Don't yuck my yum. Well, you can do whatever you want to do, and I'll do

00:22:29.520 whatever I want to do, and we don't need to talk about the thing itself. We're just talking about

00:22:33.600 freedom. We're all free. We can do whatever we want. You sometimes have to get to the ideas

00:22:38.540 themselves. Politics is down from culture. Culture is down from religion. And sometimes you have to say,

00:22:45.280 not all religions are the same. You don't see the Catholic parish in Philadelphia making videos 0.97

00:22:54.660 of six-year-olds talking about chopping off people's heads. You don't see the Methodists 1.00

00:23:00.060 in Philadelphia making videos about chopping off people's heads and posting them to their Facebook

00:23:04.460 pages. There are different religious views, and those different religious views create different

00:23:10.660 cultures, and those different cultures have different politics. And you can't just assume

00:23:15.440 that you can take one politics, the politics informed by chopping off people's heads, and

00:23:22.120 throw it into the West, and it'll all be exactly fine, and it'll all be the same, and everyone 0.99

00:23:26.380 will get along. No. That's not how it works. We're very open in the West because our politics

00:23:32.580 is formed by a real openness, by a real toleration. Not everybody agrees with those ideas. And to make

00:23:41.520 an idol out of those, then, is to invite your own death, is to invite the destruction of those ideas

00:23:47.640 themselves. It's cultural suicide. The left has very weird religious ideas. I don't know how I can make

00:23:54.420 this point any clearer. You can forget about Islam. Just look at the religion of leftism.

00:24:00.360 This was the clearest in Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib's colleague, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She sang a

00:24:09.420 gospel song for the Green New Deal. And it is truly the funniest video that has come out of politics in

00:24:16.380 the last many weeks, but you can only see it if you go to dailywire.com. Ten bucks a month, $100 for an annual

00:24:22.220 membership. You get me. You get the Andrew Klavan show. You get the Ben Shapiro show. You get to ask

00:24:25.540 questions in the mailbag. You get the Matt Walsh show. You get to ask questions backstage. You get

00:24:30.800 another kingdom. You get the Leftist Tears Tumblr. When we start playing that AOC gospel song,

00:24:36.680 the leftist tears are going to flow. Go over to dailywire.com. We'll be right back.

00:24:39.820 The left has very strange religious ideas. I have said this for a while now, but the big takeaway

00:24:57.320 watching this AOC video, the left not only perverts reality, the left inverts it. The left takes reality

00:25:06.300 and exactly flips it on its head. It makes it opposite day every single day. The other point

00:25:12.560 that is so clear that, again, I know we have all been intuiting this for years now, but it's so

00:25:18.500 explicit here. Global warming is a false religion. It's not about science. It's not about scholarship.

00:25:26.680 It's not about studies. It is a false religion with all the trappings of religion, including now, 0.98

00:25:33.120 apparently, gospel hymns. Sunday before last, AOC shows up in a nice white shirt. She goes out with

00:25:40.100 a group of these women, all wearing white, singing a gospel song. Across the post that she makes on

00:25:48.420 Instagram, it says, hashtag Green New Deal. You are not going to believe the song she decided to sing

00:25:54.840 in defense of the Green New Deal.

00:25:57.840 The world didn't give it to me, the world can't

00:26:09.820 Thank you.

00:26:39.820 the world didn't give it, the world can't take it away. Did you catch those lyrics? There were

00:26:46.140 only like two lyrics in the song. This joy that I have, the world didn't give it to me.

00:26:53.740 The world didn't give it, the world can't take it away. Therefore, we need to protect the natural

00:27:00.360 world. Hold on, wait a second. Let me go back. Ironically, sometimes I think she's just trolling

00:27:07.620 us at this point. Ironically, the song that AOC is singing in defense of the Green New Deal

00:27:14.220 is the strongest argument there is against the Green New Deal. Her song that she's singing is

00:27:22.420 The Joy That I Have Doesn't Come From This World. This is a gospel song. It's called This Joy That I

00:27:28.500 Have. It's an old-timey gospel song. It's a great one. It's a song about spiritual endurance and grit

00:27:35.540 and grace from God. It's saying, the joy that I have in my heart that animates me, that lifts me

00:27:41.500 up, is not from this world. It's not from the trees. It's not from the birds. It's not from the sunset.

00:27:48.060 It's not from my material wealth. It's not even from my health. It's not from any of the physical

00:27:53.640 things of this world. This joy that I have comes from somewhere else. Now, you'll notice in the version

00:28:01.320 that AOC is singing, they just keep repeating that. This joy that I have, the world didn't give it to

00:28:06.200 me, the world didn't give it, the world can't take it away. The actual song has many more lyrics to it.

00:28:10.880 I'll just play you one of them from an excellent version of this song by Shirley Caesar. See if you

00:28:17.000 can catch the word that AOC left out. Well, who gave it to you? What is this that you had and who gave

00:28:24.160 it to you? Nobody but Jesus. Nobody but Jesus. Jesus. Nobody but Jesus. But in the AOC version,

00:28:38.320 she'd have to sing like, like, solar power. Nobody but solar power. Windmills. Nobody but windmills. 0.98

00:28:48.580 That's what she's talking about. Those paper straws. Oh, definitely not plastic straws. Paper 0.87

00:28:54.160 straws. Because what AOC's fake false religion of global warming does is inverts true religion.

00:29:01.760 This joy that I have tells me that everything in this world will pass away. Everything in this world

00:29:09.080 is going to pass away. I'm going to die someday too. You all are. Hate to break it. Spoiler alert. 0.75

00:29:14.560 Every material thing that you really like, that new shirt that you bought that you think really

00:29:18.120 looks good on you, your friends, your family, your kid, all of those things are going away. They're not

00:29:24.200 going to last. One day, the sun won't rise. This earth will pass. Our galaxy will pass.

00:29:30.960 It's all going away. This joy that I have comes from eternal things that are outside of this world.

00:29:41.360 They're from my salvation, my savior, my creator, the divine logic of the universe.

00:29:48.940 Now, the point of that song is that we don't need to worry about the sufferings of this world.

00:29:54.720 We don't need to worry about the natural and physical world at all. It's going to pass.

00:29:58.120 We've got something eternal. What AOC is singing is that we've got to care about the natural and

00:30:03.680 physical world most of all because I'm singing part of a pretty gospel song. This is what the left

00:30:09.120 always does. The left loves the appearance of beautiful things, but they hate what makes the

00:30:17.900 things beautiful. They're all wearing white. White is a sign of purity. Since when does the left like

00:30:23.720 purity? Since when does the left like modesty? The left goes on slut walks and shout your abortion 0.86

00:30:28.460 walks. They don't like, but they like the imagery of purity. Since when does the left appreciate the 1.00

00:30:35.120 gospel and gospel music and gospel songs? They don't believe in Jesus. They are substituting a false 0.97

00:30:42.260 religion for the religion of Christianity, of Jesus. But they like, but they like, it looks good.

00:30:48.620 Christianity, it's so pretty. It looks so good. Those gospel songs look good. The group she's singing

00:30:52.700 with, the resistance revival chorus, they actually sound pretty good. They are, quote, a collection of

00:30:58.360 more than 60 women who come together to sing protest songs in the spirit of collective joy and resistance.

00:31:05.560 So they're just far left-wingers singing protest songs, but that is not a protest song. This joy I have

00:31:11.560 is a gospel song. It's about the good news. What's the good news? That the world can't take this away

00:31:18.140 because the world doesn't really matter. What are they singing? Exactly the opposite. Everybody's got

00:31:24.780 to serve somebody. Just keep that little song in mind the next time some global warming alarmist comes

00:31:29.920 up to you and says, you're denying science. Global warming is about science. It's about scientific

00:31:36.660 studies. You're a science denier. I don't think that AOC singing this joy I have with a bunch of

00:31:43.700 left-wing activists. I don't think that's very scientific. I don't think the Green New Deal is

00:31:50.680 very scientific, is it? I don't think it's even really primarily about the environment. It's about

00:31:57.000 a universal basic income. It's about socialist health care. It's about a whole lot of things

00:32:00.500 that have nothing to do with the natural environment. This is what a culture that doesn't

00:32:07.940 know itself does. We're born into this culture. Even the most radical left-wing people in our

00:32:13.320 culture are born into it, and they kind of like it. They have a familiarity with it. They like the

00:32:18.140 gospel songs. They like the white dress. They like the dancing around. They like that. They don't know

00:32:24.100 what it means. They're just saying words. They don't know what they mean. I mean, in this case,

00:32:30.820 she is literally, she might as well be singing, the Green New Deal doesn't matter, and I shouldn't 0.89

00:32:36.740 care about global warming. The Green New Deal doesn't matter. And she's basically singing those

00:32:42.420 words, but she doesn't hear them. She doesn't know what they mean. It is a senseless culture at this

00:32:49.040 point that doesn't know itself, that's going through the motions without knowing what the motions

00:32:54.040 mean. You see this perversity. You see this exact backwardsness. In fact, we got to go back to

00:33:01.280 Pennsylvania, unfortunately. There's a Pennsylvania state representative, this guy Brian Sims, and he

00:33:08.200 goes out to a Planned Parenthood, and he says that he's out there supporting women's rights. And how is

00:33:14.460 he going to support women's rights? By harassing and mocking and ridiculing a woman who is expressing

00:33:21.260 her political views? Here is this guy, this punk, this despicable punk, Brian Sims, going out on the 0.96

00:33:29.880 streets right in front of a Planned Parenthood to harass a woman who was protesting the killing of 0.96

00:33:35.100 babies. Hi, everyone. Representative Brian Sims here, and I'm once again out in front of Planned

00:33:42.500 Parenthood of southeastern Pennsylvania. It's not only in my district. It's the most heavily protested

00:33:47.620 Planned Parenthood. I believe in the country. And today's protester, now, she is an old white lady 1.00

00:33:54.200 who's going to try to avoid showing you her face. But the same laws, and luckily, that protect her 1.00

00:34:00.800 from being out here also protect me from showing you who she is. And so my hope is, is that you'll

00:34:05.600 donate $100 for every extra hour that this woman is out here telling people what's right for their 0.93

00:34:11.480 bodies. So I have a couple questions for you, ma'am. How many children have you clothed today? 1.00

00:34:17.620 I'm sorry, I missed your answer. How many children have you clothed today? 0.99

00:34:21.260 How about how many children have you put shoes on their feet today? Have you fed any children today,

00:34:26.640 or have you just stood out in front of a Planned Parenthood shaming people for something that they

00:34:30.720 have a constitutional right to do? Huh? Huh? If you're here about the children, you can pray at home for

00:34:36.820 children. It's probably the same place that you could feed a child. But you're not. Instead, you're

00:34:41.700 out here shaming people for something that they have a constitutional right to do. Who would have

00:34:45.680 thought that an old white lady would be out in front of a Planned Parenthood telling people what's 1.00

00:34:49.520 right for their bodies? Shame on you. Shame on you for hiding your face at the same time that you're 0.99

00:34:54.760 shaming other people. So this guy obviously has some presumably pretty bad psychological problems. 0.89

00:35:02.580 He's an elected politician in Pennsylvania. He's got a lot of bad philosophical and political,

00:35:08.320 and I suspect religious problems too. So his, do you hear his premise? So he goes up and he says,

00:35:14.080 how many kids have you clothed today? How many kids have you bought shoes for today while you were

00:35:19.880 protesting? The point is, if you think that it's wrong to kill babies, you also need to buy clothing

00:35:26.820 for lots of little kids, which is a complete non sequitur. That doesn't make any sense. You can,

00:35:32.420 it is perfectly reasonable to think that you shouldn't murder babies and also that their

00:35:37.420 parents should take care of them and like not me. But, but beyond that, study after study shows

00:35:44.540 Republicans, right-wingers, give significantly more to charity than left-wingers do. This has

00:35:51.000 been shown time and time again. It's true of individuals. It's true of counties. It's true of

00:35:55.080 states. There was a 2012 study that showed that the eight most generous states, the states that gave

00:36:02.340 the highest percentage of their income to charity, all voted for the Republican in 2008. And the seven

00:36:09.220 least generous states, the ones that give the lowest percentage of their income to charity,

00:36:13.960 all voted for the Democrat in 2008. So even if his premise were true, which it's not,

00:36:21.020 that if you think we shouldn't kill babies, you also should donate to charity,

00:36:24.400 all the people who think we shouldn't kill babies donate more to charity than the people who think we 0.99

00:36:29.620 should kill babies. Even that is wrong. But do you know what the major determining factor is here? 0.92

00:36:35.820 Is religion. So a lot of these studies show it's not exactly just political preferences.

00:36:41.500 It's that political preferences come from cultural ones, which come from religious ones.

00:36:45.340 And it's the religion that is dictating the charitable giving, which of course makes sense.

00:36:49.500 The, the impulses that I have to give to charity are informed by my religion. I suspect yours are too.

00:36:55.200 If you think that life is some cosmic joke, that it doesn't mean anything, it's all random,

00:37:00.760 that suffering and pleasure and pain, they're all just sort of illusions, that my pleasure is in no

00:37:06.240 way less important than your pain. Why would you ever give your money to somebody else? Why would you

00:37:12.040 do that? It doesn't make any sense. The whole world doesn't make sense under that strange religion. 1.00

00:37:18.100 But religion is the factor. And this guy, Brian Sims posted on Twitter, all of these anti-Christian

00:37:23.100 screeds. He said, all you Bible bullies don't want to kill kids, but you know, you should something 0.93

00:37:29.620 like that. Christians give much more to charity. The most charitable organization in the history of 0.84

00:37:34.800 the world by far, I mean, there is no second place is the Catholic church. It's not the atheist league 0.94

00:37:42.120 of southeastern Pennsylvania. It's not the Democrat house of representatives in Pennsylvania club.

00:37:51.900 It's the Catholic church. Those Bible bullies, those Christians give much more to charity. 1.00

00:37:58.600 But then the biggest irony, I love this so much in the video as he's harassing this poor woman for

00:38:03.700 nine consecutive minutes, is he decides to show what, what real feminism looks like. 1.00

00:38:10.300 Thank you so much for working in a place that respects and protects women. Thank you so much.

00:38:16.440 So if you couldn't see it, that's Brian Sims turning to two men walking into Planned Parenthood,

00:38:22.680 licking their chops, can't wait to get their hands on a couple new babies, two men walking in. And then 1.00

00:38:27.520 this man turns to them and says, thank you for supporting women. Not like this old hag over here, 1.00

00:38:33.420 not like this awful vicious hag whose face I'm screaming in and who I'm plastering on social media, 1.00

00:38:38.160 this awful, awful broad. No, you men, you guys really know how to support women. 1.00

00:38:44.760 And this awful hag is a real misogynist, huh? That's what he's saying. He's accused, he did this 1.00

00:38:50.500 on Twitter later. He accused people who disagree with his tactic of harassing a woman, mocking her

00:38:57.140 appearance, mocking her age, plastering her on social media. He accused those of us who criticize that

00:39:03.580 of misogyny, of hatred of women. This guy, Brian Sims, is the face of misogyny. This is what misogyny

00:39:12.680 looks like. But it's that same, it's that backwards day, opposite day. They can't see it. It's why I

00:39:21.060 think Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is trolling us sometimes, is she says things that are the opposite 0.99

00:39:29.780 of the argument she thinks she's making, but she doesn't realize it. Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar,

00:39:36.520 they're talking about freedom. They're talking about justice. They're talking about defense.

00:39:42.020 They're talking about oppression. And yet they are seeing the situation exactly backwards.

00:39:47.140 The violent aggressors, they are defending as the victims. The victims, they are accusing as the

00:39:52.520 oppressors. The rogue state that elected a terrorist organization, it's not a state. It's a,

00:39:59.760 random area that elected a terrorist organization. They want to turn into a state.

00:40:06.840 And yet the legitimate state, the Western-style democracy in the Middle East,

00:40:10.820 they smear as a rogue state. True religion, the left mocks, false religion, hopeless religion,

00:40:19.540 the religion of matter, the religion of stuff, the religion of this world, the left exalts as the

00:40:26.940 pinnacle of science and hope. They might have, the left should have been singing in that song,

00:40:33.240 this joy that I have, the world gave it to me, the world gave it, and I guess the world can take

00:40:38.100 it away. Uh-oh, better watch out. They use the word misogyny to mean the opposite of misogyny.

00:40:45.060 They use the word, the phrase pro-woman to mean the opposite of pro-woman. It's exactly the opposite.

00:40:51.540 And is it exactly the opposite because they're making a slight political miscalculation?

00:40:57.020 Is it exactly the opposite because, oh, they got their tax rates a little bit wrong?

00:41:00.840 Oh, they underestimated economic growth in the third quarter. Yeah, they thought that this one

00:41:08.560 ally would have a stronger response to a provocation. No, it has nothing to do with that basic politics.

00:41:15.380 Their political miscalculations, their political errors are fundamentally religious errors. That's 0.94

00:41:24.220 how they go so wrong. We were talking about this last week a little bit, how the phrase,

00:41:30.500 you can't legislate morality, doesn't make any sense because all legislation ultimately refers to

00:41:35.940 the moral law. Whenever we use the phrase fairness, justice, equality, we're referring to moral terms,

00:41:44.960 even tax rates, pay their fair share. We're talking about moral terms. And so at the very bottom,

00:41:52.060 if you make a moral error, if you make a religious error, then your political error is going to be

00:41:59.460 so magnified. If you make a religious error, then your political error could be the exact opposite of

00:42:08.220 the point that you want to make. If you think that God is a God of sense, logic, the divine logic of

00:42:16.100 the universe, perfect goodness, maximal greatness, that is going to lead to a certain culture and to

00:42:24.540 a certain politics. If you think that God is a God of pure will, that God is not bound in any way by

00:42:31.620 logic, that God does not necessarily have anything to do with logic, that's going to lead to another kind

00:42:37.360 of politics. And if you believe, as the religion of leftism does, that God doesn't really exist at

00:42:43.940 all, you know, we're all sort of God, man. This whole world is God. Mother nature is God. Gaia is

00:42:50.300 God. Ultimately, I'm my own God. If you believe that, you are going to have probably the most perverse

00:42:59.920 politics of all, but it's going to be the funniest one because it's exactly backwards. It's singing gospel 0.95

00:43:05.600 songs to nothing. Singing gospel songs without the gospel. Gospel songs without the good news.

00:43:12.920 Before we go, we only have a couple minutes left. I have to talk about this Facebook banning.

00:43:19.180 There was a major ban on Facebook that happened. We were off the air on Friday. They banned Infowars,

00:43:25.080 Alex Jones, Louis Farrakhan, Laura Loomer, Paul Nealon, Paul Joseph Watson, Milo Yiannopoulos.

00:43:31.140 Other social media sites have banned a lot of other people as well. This is terrible. There is no

00:43:39.900 defense of this. There is, and look, some of these guys are pretty bad hombres. Louis Farrakhan,

00:43:44.060 obviously, is a horrific man, a vicious bigot, terrible guy, probably had a hand in the killing 0.98

00:43:49.860 of Malcolm X. This is a bad guy. Paul Nealon is a white supremacist. He ran for Congress in Wisconsin. 0.99

00:43:58.960 Milo Yiannopoulos. Everyone has seen Milo Yiannopoulos' ups and downs and pitfalls and bad

00:44:05.720 decisions. Some of these guys are basically mainstream or at least innocuous. Maybe they're

00:44:13.740 a little quirky or they're a little odd. You know, Paul Joseph Watson works for Infowars. Infowars is a

00:44:18.620 pretty eccentric place, but Paul Joseph Watson is not a bigot. I've never seen any evidence that

00:44:24.120 that guy's bigoted at all. I've never seen Alex Jones, you know, put on a Ku Klux Klan hood or join

00:44:34.680 with a bunch of bigots or violent people. You know, in the last few days, I've seen two members

00:44:40.980 of Congress publicly defend violent terrorists who launched 700 missiles at a civilian population.

00:44:47.860 I've seen two members of Congress do that. I never saw Alex Jones do that. I never saw Milo

00:44:53.780 Yiannopoulos do that. I never saw Paul Nealon do that. I never saw Paul Joseph Watson do that.

00:44:59.640 Laura Loomer.

00:45:03.180 This is very calculated. What they are doing is they're mixing some truly bad people. You know,

00:45:10.620 Louis Farrakhan is probably the worst person on that list and he's been the worst for a long time.

00:45:16.060 They mix some really bad hombres in there to then take out the innocuous people like Paul Joseph

00:45:22.980 Watson. What this is building toward is banning me, banning Drew, banning Matt, banning Ben,

00:45:30.120 banning all of the big names in the mainstream right wing. And they're going to start and they'll

00:45:35.940 say, what? It doesn't matter. Wait, look, we just took Milo Yiannopoulos as a fringe character.

00:45:40.480 Okay, but why are you banning him? What's the point of banning him? Oh, look, Infowars,

00:45:45.120 you don't want to, you're not like Infowars. Yeah, okay, but why are you banning them? It's an

00:45:50.200 excuse because the left does not want conservative ideas to get out. And so they're going to muddy

00:45:56.320 the waters. They're going to mix things up and they're going to hope that conservatives aren't

00:45:59.700 going to defend Alex Jones. I will defend Alex Jones. I will defend Alex Jones being on any social

00:46:05.220 media platform forever. And I will do it because there's no reason to take him off. And because

00:46:13.100 taking him off is just a hidden way to come after the rest of us. And any conservatives who remain

00:46:19.620 silent are just appeasing that little crocodile, hoping that it will eat them last. That's our show.

00:46:26.960 Come back tomorrow. In the meantime, I'm Michael Knowles. This is The Michael Knowles Show. See you then.

00:47:00.400 Hey, guys. Over on the Matt Wall Show today, a United States congresswoman has taken the side

00:47:05.760 of terrorists. And she even referred to, and I quote here, she said, our Palestinian people,

00:47:11.120 our. I want to talk about that statement, and I'll explain why I think it warrants an investigation

00:47:17.380 into this woman. Also, a Democratic state representative harassed an elderly woman,

00:47:23.060 an elderly pro-life woman. And he was so proud of himself for doing so that he recorded it and put it

00:47:27.400 online. So we'll play a clip of that and talk about it. And I'll answer your emails today

00:47:31.140 over on the Matt Wall Show.
