00:00:37.740 As the left enters day five of mourning dead Iranian terrorist Qasem Soleimani,

00:00:43.660 the outcry takes an explicitly traitorous turn.

00:00:47.360 We examine an important political reality.

00:00:50.080 You are known by the friends you keep.

00:00:52.340 Then, the most prolific rapist in British legal history is sentenced to life in prison.

00:00:59.460 But even amid the Me Too movement, virtually no media outlets are reporting on it.

00:01:04.320 We analyze a story that doesn't fit the leftist narrative.

00:01:08.100 Finally, some big little endorsements in the 2020 Democratic primary

00:01:11.600 and a proposed split in the Methodist church over same-sex marriage.

00:01:16.620 All that and more.

00:01:17.520 I'm Michael Knowles and this is The Michael Knowles Show.

00:01:22.340 Big news in the Democratic primary.

00:01:29.840 We will get to who won the coveted Judge Judy endorsement. 1.00

00:01:34.960 But before we can get to that, we have got to cover what all of the other Democrats in America are up to

00:01:40.240 and that is mourning the death of the world's most notorious terrorist, Qasem Soleimani.

00:01:44.640 I don't want to be accused of hyperbole here.

00:01:50.140 So, I've plucked just a handful of random examples of major leftists in this country

00:01:57.660 actually mourning this guy, actually taking the side of Iran over the United States,

00:02:03.400 actually posting glowing tributes and elegies and reviews to this dead terrorist, Soleimani.

00:02:10.760 Here's just a little quick montage somebody on Twitter put together of the mainstream media shedding those leftist tears.

00:02:18.260 He was a war hero, the commander of Iran's feared Quds Force.

00:02:22.500 Qasem Soleimani was no ordinary general.

00:02:25.340 The U.S. officially classified him as a terrorist, but in Iran, he was a national hero.

00:02:30.360 He's regarded as personally incredibly brave.

00:02:32.800 The troops love him.

00:02:33.860 I was trying to think of somebody and I was thinking of de Gaulle.

00:02:36.380 A revered figure in Iran and some other places in the Middle East.

00:02:40.180 Smart, charismatic, ruthless, strategic and bold.

00:02:43.660 His power made Iranians proud.

00:02:46.060 But even many of Soleimani's enemies admitted he was a military genius.

00:02:51.120 Qasem Soleimani was an evil genius.

00:02:54.400 Soleimani was in charge of spreading Iranian influence around the world and he was extremely good at it.

00:03:00.960 He is the, think of the French Foreign Legion, you know, if you will.

00:03:04.220 By killing Qasem Soleimani, the U.S. has stripped Iran of an inspirational military leader.

00:03:10.240 The crowds are massive and emotional.

00:03:12.700 There are many tears here.

00:03:14.220 Thousands of mourners on the streets in Iran.

00:03:17.280 Symbolic caskets aloft, weeping and chanting, I am Soleimani.

00:03:22.460 The supreme leader of Iran weeping and praying over a coffin draped in the Iraqi flag.

00:03:28.840 It's difficult to convey how revered he is.

00:03:32.000 It's difficult to convey how revered he is among the mainstream media.

00:03:35.800 Qasem Soleimani, the U.S. officially called him a terrorist, but terrorists really liked him.

00:03:42.160 As though that's sort of some contradiction.

00:03:44.140 They compare him to Charles de Gaulle.

00:03:45.920 They compare him to the French Foreign Legion.

00:03:48.460 I mean, I don't know where they get all of these comparisons from.

00:03:51.780 Bold, ruthless, courageous, so handsome.

00:03:56.000 You just melt in his eyes.

00:03:58.480 Oh, oh, Qasem, Qasem. 1.00

00:04:00.860 I mean, really, really pathetic stuff. 0.97

00:04:03.100 Add on to that the Washington Post headline, highly revered military leader. 0.97

00:04:08.560 You know, the Washington Post, which called al-Baghdadi an austere religious scholar.

00:04:13.020 In the future, by the way, I would like to be referred to only by my mainstream media title

00:04:17.780 of highly revered austere religious podcaster.

00:04:21.320 So please, in the mailbag, wherever you address me, please, I want the mainstream media treatment.

00:04:27.160 I want to be treated as good as the mainstream media treats terrorists.

00:04:30.560 That is just the press.

00:04:34.480 And Nikki Haley, former U.N. ambassador and governor of South Carolina,

00:04:38.080 went on Fox News, on another cable news outlet, and called them out for it.

00:04:43.360 You don't see anyone standing up for Iran. 0.99

00:04:45.920 You're not hearing any of the Gulf members.

00:04:48.340 You're not hearing China.

00:04:49.640 You're not hearing Russia.

00:04:51.040 The only ones that are mourning the loss of Soleimani are our Democrat leadership

00:04:57.180 and our Democrat presidential candidates.

00:05:00.200 No one else in the world because they knew that this man had evil veins.

00:05:04.600 They knew what he was capable of, and they saw the destruction

00:05:07.600 and the lives lost based from his hands.

00:05:11.420 Totally.

00:05:12.100 She got it exactly right.

00:05:13.400 The only thing Nikki left out is the mainstream media.

00:05:16.480 But she referred to the Democratic leadership, and that includes the mainstream media.

00:05:20.360 That pretty much is the mainstream media.

00:05:22.080 So I guess she included that, too.

00:05:24.440 But it isn't just them.

00:05:25.780 It isn't even just the elected Democrats.

00:05:27.580 It isn't just the mainstream media.

00:05:29.020 We will get to major left-wing figures in this country who are now explicitly taking the side of Iran

00:05:33.900 and joking about and threatening to kill the President of the United States.

00:05:37.700 We'll get to that in a second.

00:05:38.560 But first, how do I maintain my image as such a highly revered, austere, religious podcaster?

00:05:45.440 Part of the way that I do that is through my full head of hair, okay?

00:05:49.700 I've never been a huge, hulking Adonis of a guy.

00:05:52.560 I've never been the best athlete in the world.

00:05:54.240 But I've always had this nice head of hair.

00:05:56.620 And it's very important to keep that head of hair.

00:05:58.580 Two out of three guys will experience some form of male pattern baldness by the time they're 35.

00:06:04.800 So what's the good news?

00:06:05.580 The good news is, with today's advancements in science, Keeps offers proven treatments

00:07:17.240 K-E-E-P-S dot com slash Knowles, K-N-O-W-L-E-S.

00:07:23.080 Nikki Haley gets it totally right.

00:07:24.860 The only people in the whole wide world who are mourning the death of Soleimani are terrorists,

00:07:31.580 the supporters of terrorists, and the Democratic leadership in the mainstream media,

00:07:35.580 and even elected Democrats, and even cultural figures who are Democrats.

00:07:39.340 Michael Moore, one of the most prominent left-wing voices in the United States,

00:07:46.580 privately messaged the supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei,

00:07:51.440 and begged him, begged him not to attack us and apologized for America and apologized for Trump

00:07:59.000 and said he would deal with Trump.

00:08:01.240 The left has been so whipped up into a hysterical frenzy over this

00:08:06.240 that they are now sliding into the DMs of mullahs to apologize for the president

00:08:12.320 and beg that Iran, some little nothing country, 1.00

00:08:16.180 a country that should not be recognized as a nation state after the revolution,

00:08:21.720 that country is threatening the greatest country in the history of the world.

00:08:25.540 Please, please, mullahs, don't bomb us to death. 1.00

00:08:29.060 This is what Michael Moore tweeted out publicly.

00:08:31.820 Quote, I have just sent the Ayatollah of Iran a personal appeal,

00:08:36.460 asking him not to respond to our assassination of his top general with violence of any kind,

00:08:41.180 but rather let me and millions of Americans fix this peacefully.

00:08:47.660 Now, in Michael Moore's defense, at least when he's begging the Ayatollah of Iran 0.87

00:08:54.460 to forgive us our trespasses,

00:08:57.060 he's saying that the way that we'll deal with it is through the election, right?

00:09:00.760 Allow millions of Americans to deal with this peacefully.

00:09:03.400 That isn't what many other prominent leftists have been doing.

00:09:08.260 But this is a moral violation at the very least.

00:09:13.520 This may be a legal violation

00:09:14.820 because you've got a private American citizen

00:09:17.300 trying to negotiate with the head of a foreign state.

00:09:20.700 The Logan Act often comes up, you know,

00:09:23.100 these sort of arcane laws come up

00:09:25.400 that every few years when some private citizen deals with a head of state,

00:09:31.380 I don't think Michael Moore is going to be prosecuted for this.

00:09:34.220 But it's a serious violation that he's doing.

00:09:37.440 I mean, to basically betray your own country

00:09:41.240 and try to negotiate with a major state funder of terrorism

00:09:46.060 against the United States,

00:09:48.060 against the president of the United States,

00:09:49.140 really bad stuff.

00:09:50.220 And Michael Moore isn't even the worst one, far from it.

00:09:52.800 AOC, AOC, the future of the Democratic Party,

00:09:57.280 according to the head of the DNC, Tom Perez,

00:10:00.520 AOC has been promoting pro-Iran Russian propaganda

00:10:06.000 on Twitter regarding Soleimani.

00:10:09.780 It's so funny.

00:10:10.700 I mean, the left always projects,

00:10:13.240 they always accuse you of doing what they themselves are doing.

00:10:16.840 So they've been accusing Trump of promoting Russian propaganda now for three years.

00:10:22.640 The left, prominent leftists,

00:10:25.000 are actually the ones promoting Russian propaganda with regard to Iran.

00:10:29.680 So AOC just liked on Twitter,

00:10:32.800 which exposes this tweet to her millions of followers, 0.98

00:10:35.880 a tweet by Rania Kaleck,

00:10:38.220 who is a journalist for In The Now.

00:10:41.980 This is a Russian propaganda outlet,

00:10:43.760 who tweeted out,

00:10:45.680 A friend flying into the U.S.

00:10:47.700 says he hasn't seen so much security since 9-11.

00:10:50.880 The U.S. is terrified of how Iran will retaliate.

00:10:53.960 Iran won't attack civilians.

00:10:55.960 That's what Al-Qaeda does. 0.64

00:10:57.400 But it shows this assassination did the opposite of making Americans safer,

00:11:01.620 and our leaders know it.

00:11:03.360 So this is just a flat-out lie. 0.92

00:11:04.940 Iran regularly murders civilians, 0.70

00:11:07.480 its own civilians, 0.70

00:11:08.500 and the civilians of other countries.

00:11:09.820 And actually, Qasem Soleimani was personally responsible for much of it.

00:11:14.480 A complete lie.

00:11:16.100 Imagine if during World War II,

00:11:18.560 you had Democratic congressmen posting Nazi propaganda on Twitter,

00:11:23.700 or fascist propaganda on Twitter,

00:11:26.460 Japanese propaganda on Twitter.

00:11:28.940 Good thing there wasn't Twitter back in 1945,

00:11:31.860 but really there wasn't the Democratic Party as we know it today.

00:11:34.560 I mean, this radical leftist Democratic Party

00:11:36.700 that would take the side of Iran over the president of the United States.

00:11:39.780 That is a new thing.

00:11:41.820 We haven't seen that really before.

00:11:43.820 It's been growing over the past several decades.

00:11:47.680 That's AOC,

00:11:48.900 and that is a betrayal of her country.

00:11:51.980 Not just AOC.

00:11:53.380 AOC's preferred presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders,

00:11:56.540 goes on television,

00:11:58.040 goes on CNN,

00:11:59.220 the Clinton News Network,

00:12:00.520 the Communist News Network,

00:12:01.640 and compares the United States' action here

00:12:06.700 in killing the world's top terrorist

00:12:08.100 to Vladimir Putin assassinating journalists. 0.98

00:12:11.380 Here's Bernie.

00:12:12.440 This guy is, you know,

00:12:13.520 was as bad as he was an official

00:12:15.600 of the Iranian government.

00:12:17.980 And you unleash.

00:12:18.740 Then, if China does that, 0.54

00:12:20.940 you know, if Russia does that, 0.68

00:12:22.200 you know, Russia has been implicated

00:12:23.900 under Putin with assassinating dissidents.

00:12:26.900 So, once you're in the business of assassination,

00:12:30.920 you unleash some very, very terrible forces.

00:12:33.880 What kind of perverted logic is that?

00:12:37.180 By this logic,

00:12:38.440 if any country kills anybody,

00:12:40.760 they're just as bad as every other country.

00:12:43.020 Well, if a country goes in 0.99

00:12:44.880 and kills men, women, and children,

00:12:46.940 and then a country kills the people 0.99

00:12:49.300 who kill men, women, and children, 0.81

00:12:51.020 that is not the same action.

00:12:54.240 I'll put it more clearly.

00:12:57.420 If a country is committing terrorism,

00:13:00.280 if a country is targeting civilians,

00:13:02.680 if a country is violating international law,

00:13:06.140 and then a country goes in

00:13:08.720 and stops them from doing that,

00:13:11.000 those are not the same act.

00:13:13.780 Actually, they're opposite acts.

00:13:15.980 And Qasem Soleimani

00:13:17.100 was a major terrorist leader.

00:13:20.200 And what makes Soleimani so dangerous,

00:13:22.340 well, it used to before we just,

00:13:23.620 all over the Blagdad airport.

00:13:26.360 What makes Soleim,

00:13:27.400 what did make Soleimani so dangerous

00:13:29.180 is that he wasn't just a terrorist.

00:13:31.100 He also had the backing

00:13:32.060 of sort of a nation state.

00:13:34.700 And that's what Iran has done 0.99

00:13:35.820 since the revolution,

00:13:37.040 is they play both sides

00:13:38.540 of the international system.

00:13:40.120 They fund terrorism all around the world.

00:13:43.120 They violate all the international norms.

00:13:45.820 And they try to pretend

00:13:47.500 that they're a regular nation state

00:13:48.980 with all the privileges thereof.

00:13:51.060 And they're trying to have it both ways.

00:13:52.940 And we, in this case,

00:13:54.420 stop them from doing that.

00:13:55.880 When you have a guy

00:13:56.920 who is targeting civilians,

00:13:58.640 who is funding terrorism around the world,

00:14:00.520 who is violating international norms,

00:14:02.380 and then you go in and take him out,

00:14:04.840 that does not make you the same as that person.

00:14:06.680 It makes you the solution

00:14:07.940 to the problem that that person was.

00:14:11.320 But this is what the left always wants to do.

00:14:13.560 The left wants to make America seem wicked,

00:14:16.720 seem evil, 0.86

00:14:17.720 seem just as bad as the terrorists.

00:14:19.560 And when we pointed this out about the left

00:14:23.600 over the past, I don't know, 10, 15 years,

00:14:26.120 the left has shrieked and yelled

00:14:28.220 and said that isn't true.

00:14:29.220 Well, now we're seeing it explicitly.

00:14:31.640 Okay, not just Bernie Sanders,

00:14:33.520 not just AOC,

00:14:34.220 not just these elected officials.

00:14:35.500 George Lopez saw an Instagram post

00:14:38.420 that said that the Ayatollah of Iran

00:14:41.060 was offering $80 million

00:14:42.260 for Donald Trump's head on a platter.

00:14:44.540 And do you know what George Lopez said?

00:14:45.840 He said he'd do it for half.

00:14:48.600 George Lopez, with his verified Instagram account,

00:14:50.960 went on that post and said,

00:14:53.800 we'll do it for half.

00:14:57.260 Look, I get it.

00:14:59.220 George Lopez is a comedian.

00:15:01.700 That joke, if you made that joke

00:15:03.760 as an offhanded, blue, irreverent, 0.99

00:15:08.160 dirty, rotten, dark joke 0.99

00:15:10.060 in a bar with your friends, 0.98

00:15:11.820 I get how that's sort of funny.

00:15:13.860 If you're making that joke publicly,

00:15:17.020 particularly as the US

00:15:18.700 is potentially headed for a war,

00:15:21.740 that is a bridge too far.

00:15:24.280 I mean, it's funny to a certain audience

00:15:25.960 that hates the president of the United States

00:15:28.520 so much that they're willing to side with Iran,

00:15:31.020 that they're willing to make common cause

00:15:32.440 with terrorists over the president.

00:15:34.600 But it's not funny to the rest of us.

00:15:36.160 It's a bridge too far.

00:15:38.000 I mean, it is actual betrayal of your country.

00:15:41.220 And then the best of them all,

00:15:42.240 this is my favorite cultural figure

00:15:44.460 taking the side of Iran over Trump,

00:15:47.020 is a rapper named T.I.

00:15:49.600 who is siding with the Ayatollah Khamenei

00:15:51.900 in calls for death to America.

00:15:54.300 I didn't know who T.I. was,

00:15:56.100 so I Googled him.

00:15:56.900 We'll get to that in a second.

00:15:57.820 Here is what T.I. tweeted out.

00:16:00.980 Yup, dot, dot, dot, um, hmm.

00:16:03.660 Hmm, exactly what he said.

00:16:07.380 And by he, he's referring to Ayatollah Khamenei,

00:16:10.140 who's calling for death to America.

00:16:12.600 Ain't no Iranian never called me no N-word, 0.77

00:16:15.720 infested our communities with dope,

00:16:18.000 and then locked us up for it,

00:16:20.080 allowed the police to pull us over

00:16:21.840 and gun us down with no accountability,

00:16:24.400 or enslaved us and tried to act like,

00:16:27.180 duh, S-H-I-T ain't happened.

00:16:29.440 So, as I pray for our soldiers,

00:16:32.340 I'm also gonna be praying for theirs.

00:16:35.300 This ain't our war, champ.

00:16:37.120 Hashtag don't start S-H-I-T,

00:16:39.280 won't be S-H-I-T.

00:16:40.920 Hashtag MAGA hats ought to go first.

00:16:44.180 He misspelled ought to.

00:16:45.100 He misspelled a lot of things.

00:16:46.780 MAGA hats ought to go first. 0.98

00:16:49.620 What does that mean, ought to go first?

00:16:51.320 Does it mean ought to go be sent into war,

00:16:53.920 or ought to go be wiped out in war first?

00:16:56.600 He then tweets out afterward,

00:17:00.460 or Instagrams out afterward.

00:17:02.280 Riddle me this.

00:17:03.440 How come America can go to other countries

00:17:05.780 and wipe out evil people,

00:17:07.160 but can't get rid of the KKK right here?

00:17:10.660 Wow, really profound stuff, T.I.

00:17:13.360 First of all, the United States

00:17:14.480 did get rid of the KKK.

00:17:15.900 We decimated that organization decades ago,

00:17:19.460 that Democratic organization, I'll point out.

00:17:22.400 We did.

00:17:22.960 Now, the reason that we can't ban them from speaking,

00:17:25.880 the reason that the ACLU came to their defense

00:17:28.020 is because we have freedom of speech,

00:17:29.680 the same freedom of speech that allows T.I. 1.00

00:17:31.660 to spout his traitorous, idiotic propaganda. 1.00

00:17:35.220 Look, if I were king, 1.00

00:17:36.600 T.I. wouldn't be saying this kind of stuff,

00:17:38.300 but I am not king.

00:17:39.640 This is what Antonin Scalia said

00:17:41.080 about the First Amendment.

00:17:42.180 He said, if I were king,

00:17:44.040 I would throw in jail 0.99

00:17:45.400 every scruffy, bearded, sandal-wearing creep 0.99

00:17:48.840 who burns the American flag, 0.77

00:17:50.740 but I am not the king.

00:17:52.340 So that's the reason we have free speech

00:17:54.360 in this country,

00:17:56.180 but he is actively taking the side

00:17:58.040 of Iran over the United States.

00:17:59.960 He's saying, yup, exactly what he said

00:18:02.380 about the Shah, if only it were the Shah,

00:18:05.020 about the Ayatollah Khomeini.

00:18:07.140 I didn't know who T.I. was,

00:18:08.380 so I looked him up on Wikipedia.

00:18:10.780 This is from Wikipedia,

00:18:12.700 just for those of you who don't know

00:18:13.940 who T.I. is either.

00:18:15.520 Clifford Joseph Harris Jr.,

00:18:17.640 known professionally as T.I. and Tip,

00:18:19.500 is an American rapper, actor, songwriter,

00:18:21.880 producer, entrepreneur, record executive,

00:18:23.840 and author.

00:18:24.660 He must be busy.

00:18:25.880 In 2001, Harris formed the southern hip-hop group

00:18:28.580 P$C, alongside his longtime friends

00:18:32.760 and fellow Atlanta rappers,

00:18:34.560 Big Country King, Mac Boney, and C-Rod.

00:18:39.240 Harris is also known as one of the artists

00:18:41.420 who popularized the hip-hop sub-genre trap music,

00:18:44.180 along with Jeezy and Gucci Mane.

00:18:46.640 I hope that clears it up.

00:18:48.260 I'm sure it's much clearer for you now.

00:18:50.280 Then I read further down his Wikipedia,

00:18:52.480 and it turns out that T.I. is a complete

00:18:54.600 criminal degenerate. 0.99

00:18:56.620 T.I. was arrested several times by the age 14

00:18:59.660 for dealing drugs.

00:19:01.820 He was sent to prison on various drug,

00:19:04.140 assault, and weapons charges.

00:19:06.060 In 2007, he was arrested for possession

00:19:07.860 of three unregistered machine guns and two silencers,

00:19:11.260 and possession of firearms by a convicted felon.

00:19:14.220 Arrested lots more over the years

00:19:15.800 than arrested last year for disorderly conduct

00:19:18.340 and simple assault.

00:19:19.640 And this is the guy now siding with the Ayatollah of Iran.

00:19:23.880 What's very interesting about the first thing

00:19:25.400 that he posted in his agreement with Khamenei

00:19:29.280 is he blames everybody else for things that he did, right?

00:19:37.280 So he's blaming other people.

00:19:40.640 I don't know who, them, white people, Americans, I don't know.

00:19:43.820 He's blaming others as he's got this sort of racially loaded post

00:19:48.700 for infesting our communities with dope.

00:19:53.720 Nobody infested your communities with dope,

00:19:56.060 whatever your communities are.

00:19:57.400 You dealt drugs for your entire life, basically,

00:20:00.160 and you got arrested for it,

00:20:01.440 and you take no accountability for it.

00:20:03.980 You take no responsibility.

00:20:05.560 Everybody else, it's their problem.

00:20:08.320 Somebody else made you have all those illegal machine guns.

00:20:10.760 It wasn't you.

00:20:11.660 You're a poor, oppressed victim, T.I.

00:20:14.100 Somebody, I don't know, I don't know,

00:20:15.740 you were just holding those machine guns for a friend,

00:20:18.080 and those silencers,

00:20:19.020 and you were just dealing those drugs for a friend.

00:20:20.740 It's a huge misunderstanding, a huge mistake.

00:20:23.340 Aren't you a victim?

00:20:25.280 You and the Ayatollah of Iran,

00:20:27.140 you're both just such victims of America. 0.56

00:20:30.340 Give me a break.

00:20:32.420 He says that the people who are doing this have no accountability.

00:20:36.280 You have no accountability.

00:20:37.480 You take no accountability at all. 0.99

00:20:39.280 This guy, T.I., is such a degenerate. 0.95

00:20:42.040 He posted a video last year of a music video 0.95

00:20:45.140 that he was going to release 0.93

00:20:46.120 in which he very graphically has sex with Melania Trump 0.89

00:20:52.340 in the first office. 0.90

00:20:54.320 This was so edgy

00:20:55.940 that they actually wouldn't let him release it.

00:20:57.560 It never came out.

00:20:59.180 That is T.I.

00:21:02.760 That is the kind of person

00:21:04.180 who is siding with the Ayatollah of Iran over Trump,

00:21:09.020 all of which brings us

00:21:10.700 to a very important political reality.

00:21:14.120 You are known by the friends you keep.

00:21:17.680 You are known by the friends you keep.

00:21:19.560 Now, if you find,

00:21:21.660 everybody, everybody listening,

00:21:24.340 if you find that your ideological allies 1.00

00:21:27.200 are all vicious, stupid, selfish, prideful, 1.00

00:21:32.120 unaccountable, terrible people, 1.00

00:21:34.840 maybe you should reconsider your political philosophy.

00:21:38.880 Maybe there's something wrong with what you're thinking.

00:21:40.940 If you find that you are siding with terrorists 0.99

00:21:45.160 and mullahs and criminals and traitors 1.00

00:21:48.960 over the president of the United States, 0.99

00:21:51.960 regardless of who that president is,

00:21:53.560 Obama, Trump, Democrat, Republican, left, right,

00:21:56.920 if you find that you are siding with

00:21:58.580 the worst people on earth

00:22:00.380 over the president of the United States,

00:22:02.680 maybe you should rethink your political philosophy.

00:22:06.380 Maybe something has gone wrong

00:22:08.320 in your stream of logic.

00:22:10.980 You know, it's a logical fallacy

00:22:12.800 to appeal merely to authority.

00:22:16.040 So to say, my argument is correct

00:22:18.480 because this very smart person believed it,

00:22:21.320 or my argument is correct

00:22:22.760 simply because this wise, revered, austere,

00:22:28.140 religious person believed it over history.

00:22:29.880 You can't merely argue from authority,

00:22:33.880 but authority does carry weight.

00:22:37.680 Authority always carries weight.

00:22:39.100 And the question is,

00:22:39.840 what authority are we appealing to?

00:22:41.140 When you just look at the clusters of people

00:22:42.980 who are siding with Soleimani here,

00:22:46.300 who are attacking Trump

00:22:47.240 for killing the world's most notorious terrorist,

00:22:49.400 who is it? 0.57

00:22:50.780 It's the mullahs of Iran, 0.99

00:22:54.020 the worst people on earth. 0.99

00:22:55.760 I mean, probably the most dangerous, 0.99

00:22:57.460 vicious, vile political figures

00:22:59.680 on the planet,

00:23:01.280 certainly in the top three. 0.98

00:23:03.640 The most traitorous American politicians 0.61

00:23:06.940 who vacation in the Soviet Union, 0.93

00:23:11.240 who honeymoon in the Soviet Union,

00:23:13.300 who don't know anything, 0.96

00:23:15.620 who are terribly ignorant of American history, 0.88

00:23:18.820 who spread Russian and Iranian propaganda, 1.00

00:23:22.120 who post disgusting videos of them 1.00

00:23:26.320 having sex with the first lady 0.99

00:23:28.560 in the Oval Office, 1.00

00:23:29.420 who joke about killing the President 0.84

00:23:31.580 of the United States.

00:23:32.720 I mean, if you're siding with these people,

00:23:36.400 wake up, look around you,

00:23:38.560 think, hmm, maybe I got this wrong,

00:23:40.940 and take a step back.

00:23:42.520 C.S. Lewis has this line about progress.

00:23:45.020 He says,

00:23:45.560 the whole idea of progress,

00:23:47.780 progressivism,

00:23:49.120 is you gotta know where you're going.

00:23:51.480 It implies that you've got a direction.

00:23:52.980 If you find that you're going down the wrong road,

00:23:54.920 then the first guy to turn around

00:23:56.740 and walk in the other direction

00:23:57.980 is the true progressive.

00:24:00.420 Another important lesson here

00:24:01.780 from all of this mourning and weeping

00:24:03.900 and gnashing of teeth over Qasem Soleimani, 0.97

00:24:06.720 may he rest in hell, 0.95

00:24:08.620 is don't be defined

00:24:10.660 simply by what you're against.

00:24:14.780 Okay, if you are just fanatically against Trump,

00:24:17.980 if that is the definition

00:24:19.340 of your political philosophy,

00:24:22.180 you're gonna wind up defending terrorists

00:24:25.040 because anybody that Trump is against,

00:24:27.680 you're gonna be for.

00:24:28.980 Like the mainstream media

00:24:30.060 and TI and AOC and Bernie

00:24:32.220 and George Lopez

00:24:32.980 and all these people, right?

00:24:34.560 I'm not saying they're all terrible people.

00:24:36.760 I actually don't think most of them

00:24:37.900 are terrible people.

00:24:38.620 I think they're extraordinarily misguided 0.93

00:24:39.980 and they've allowed this fanatical

00:24:42.080 anti-Trump political ideology

00:24:44.320 to make them side with terrorists

00:24:46.320 and mullahs.

00:24:47.660 Don't do that.

00:24:48.500 You've got to be for something.

00:24:51.240 You can't,

00:24:51.620 look, I'm against Hillary Clinton.

00:24:52.960 I'm against Barack Obama.

00:24:54.020 I'm against leftism.

00:24:55.620 But I'm also for something else,

00:24:59.280 which is a conservative worldview.

00:25:01.480 The American tradition.

00:25:03.140 The American founding.

00:25:04.860 I'm for a virtuous politics.

00:25:07.640 I'm for the Christian understanding

00:25:11.980 of the world

00:25:12.500 that has formed the basis of our politics.

00:25:14.720 I'm for all of those things.

00:25:16.660 You've got to be for something

00:25:18.680 if you want to have a political vision

00:25:20.420 that doesn't lead you

00:25:22.020 to defend the indefensible.

00:25:24.620 A lot of political division

00:25:26.520 in this country, I think,

00:25:27.780 around the world even,

00:25:29.360 comes from the fact

00:25:30.480 that even when the left

00:25:32.960 pretends to be for something,

00:25:35.440 they're actually just against something.

00:25:37.820 They're using what they pretend to be for

00:25:40.360 as a mask to just hide

00:25:41.780 that they're merely opposed

00:25:43.840 to something else.

00:25:44.620 I know that's a little confusing,

00:25:46.140 so I'll give you an example.

00:25:47.600 The Me Too movement.

00:25:49.180 The Me Too movement

00:25:50.120 is the perfect example of this.

00:25:52.400 The UK, just yesterday,

00:25:54.640 just sentenced the most prolific rapist

00:25:57.540 in British history

00:25:59.040 to life in prison.

00:26:02.080 This rapist was convicted 0.99

00:26:04.520 of raping 48 victims, 1.00

00:26:07.220 but he actually raped many more. 0.93

00:26:09.100 195 victims were filmed 0.99

00:26:13.520 being raped in his apartment. 0.71

00:26:16.920 Those are just the ones 0.98

00:26:17.980 who got filmed.

00:26:19.880 You probably haven't heard

00:26:21.300 about this story.

00:26:22.180 The mainstream media

00:26:22.840 is not really reporting on it.

00:26:24.220 Why?

00:26:25.040 Because it doesn't fit

00:26:26.460 the Me Too narrative

00:26:28.100 of rich, powerful,

00:26:30.180 American white men 1.00

00:26:31.500 raping women. 1.00

00:26:32.800 In this case, 0.99

00:26:33.940 it was an Indonesian man 0.99

00:26:35.480 who raped men. 1.00

00:26:36.660 It was a gay guy. 1.00

00:26:37.320 So it's just not in the news.

00:26:40.660 I doubt you've seen it anywhere

00:26:42.280 or heard it anywhere

00:26:43.060 other than on this show.

00:26:45.240 This is the Me Too story 0.54

00:26:47.340 to end all Me Too stories. 0.98

00:26:48.960 The most prolific rapist 0.98

00:26:50.940 in British history. 1.00

00:26:53.060 Gone.

00:26:54.180 Because so often

00:26:56.580 the political activists

00:26:57.700 who are running

00:26:58.220 the Me Too movement

00:26:59.000 are not really for

00:27:00.260 defending victims

00:27:01.740 of sexual assault.

00:27:02.740 They're not really for

00:27:03.740 changing a culture

00:27:04.920 of sexual violence

00:27:05.900 or a rape culture 0.99

00:27:06.800 is the popular term

00:27:08.600 that's being used

00:27:09.160 on the left.

00:27:09.960 They're not really for that.

00:27:11.880 They simply use it

00:27:13.240 as a political cudgel

00:27:14.340 to take down people

00:27:15.240 that they don't like.

00:27:17.380 Some of whom

00:27:18.180 are complete derelicts.

00:27:19.480 I mean,

00:27:19.680 these guys in Hollywood 0.99

00:27:20.500 are absolute criminals. 1.00

00:27:24.160 They're awful. 1.00

00:27:24.840 In some cases 0.98

00:27:26.640 if they're not criminals

00:27:27.300 they're just really 1.00

00:27:27.960 scummy, skeezy people. 0.98

00:27:30.260 But it's really about 0.98

00:27:31.840 taking somebody down

00:27:33.960 rather than pushing forward

00:27:35.040 a positive message.

00:27:36.400 I'll give you

00:27:36.660 another example of this.

00:27:38.280 The same story

00:27:38.840 happened last month.

00:27:40.000 There was an anti-Semitic

00:27:41.020 attack in New Jersey.

00:27:42.940 There were a number

00:27:43.960 of anti-Semitic attacks

00:27:44.880 actually all around

00:27:46.020 the tri-state area.

00:27:48.500 What happened after that

00:27:50.960 is Rashida Tlaib

00:27:53.440 Rashida Tlaib

00:27:55.600 the congresswoman

00:27:57.300 the member of the squad

00:28:00.720 comes out and says

00:28:02.440 that this is an example 0.99

00:28:05.380 of how white supremacy kills. 0.97

00:28:07.140 And then the news came out 0.97

00:28:08.080 that it wasn't a white supremacist

00:28:09.160 who committed the attack. 0.56

00:28:10.640 Actually, 0.99

00:28:11.340 it was a black supremacist 0.92

00:28:13.240 a member of the Hebrew Israelites.

00:28:15.100 What did Rashida Tlaib do? 1.00

00:28:16.920 Did she change her tweet?

00:28:18.700 Did she post 0.79

00:28:19.120 actually black supremacy 1.00

00:28:20.360 can kill too? 1.00

00:28:21.600 Actually, 0.99

00:28:22.480 racial hatred

00:28:23.420 knows no color.

00:28:24.820 Actually,

00:28:25.600 everybody can be guilty

00:28:26.720 of this because man's heart

00:28:27.680 is evil from the beginning.

00:28:28.980 No,

00:28:29.340 she didn't do any of that. 0.78

00:28:30.100 She just deleted the tweet

00:28:31.040 because the minute

00:28:33.020 that this attack

00:28:34.000 didn't correspond

00:28:35.160 with her leftist narrative,

00:28:36.700 she had to get rid of it.

00:28:38.440 She had to bury it.

00:28:39.340 She had to forget about it.

00:28:40.360 She had to pretend

00:28:40.960 it wasn't real.

00:28:43.440 Whole spate

00:28:44.120 of anti-Semitic attacks

00:28:45.240 going on in New York

00:28:46.200 currently.

00:28:47.400 But because it doesn't

00:28:48.160 fit the narrative,

00:28:48.880 because in many cases 0.99

00:28:49.680 the perpetrators are black

00:28:50.760 rather than white,

00:28:51.900 then we forget about it.

00:28:54.760 It's gone.

00:28:55.240 It's out of the mainstream media.

00:28:56.660 And then these leftists

00:28:58.440 have the audacity

00:28:59.780 to malign all of us

00:29:03.040 as not taking racial attacks seriously,

00:29:05.880 as not taking sexual attacks seriously.

00:29:08.820 In reality,

00:29:10.360 we are taking these sorts of things

00:29:12.280 much more seriously

00:29:14.340 than the left.

00:29:15.740 Much more seriously.

00:29:16.920 We take it seriously

00:29:20.400 regardless of the perpetrator's race

00:29:22.580 or sex

00:29:23.160 or the victim's race

00:29:24.960 or sex.

00:29:26.480 The left only cynically 0.91

00:29:28.180 uses these incidents

00:29:29.520 when it suits

00:29:30.700 their narrative.

00:29:32.140 They have no credibility

00:29:33.720 whatsoever,

00:29:35.000 no moral authority

00:29:36.240 whatsoever

00:29:36.980 on these issues.

00:29:38.860 You know,

00:29:39.780 to the question of authority,

00:29:41.700 to the question of accountability,

00:29:43.340 T.I. brought up accountability.

00:29:44.580 Of all people,

00:29:46.240 a Hollywood leftist,

00:29:47.260 Joaquin Phoenix,

00:29:48.060 actually raised this point

00:29:49.500 at the Golden Globes

00:29:50.400 and in an otherwise

00:29:51.840 kind of meandering,

00:29:52.980 strange left-wing message,

00:29:54.300 he actually had

00:29:55.120 an important thing to say

00:29:56.280 to Hollywood

00:29:57.400 and to the left more broadly.

00:29:58.640 We'll get to that in a second.

00:29:59.740 Then we'll get to

00:30:00.220 the big little endorsements

00:30:01.580 in 2020.

00:30:03.700 We'll get to who won

00:30:04.880 the coveted

00:30:05.540 Judge Judy endorsement.

00:30:07.520 And then we will get to

00:30:09.000 why the Methodist Church

00:30:10.180 is splitting up.

00:30:11.480 First,

00:30:12.020 I've got to say goodbye

00:30:12.620 to Facebook and YouTube.

00:30:15.080 Head on over to

00:30:15.680 dailywire.com.

00:30:16.380 You get me.

00:30:17.700 You get the Andrew Klavan show.

00:30:18.620 You get the Ben Shapiro show.

00:30:19.400 You get the Matt Walsh show.

00:30:20.460 You get to ask questions

00:30:21.460 in the mailbag.

00:30:22.120 You get another kingdom.

00:30:23.160 You get

00:30:23.620 the Leftist Tears Tumblr.

00:30:25.640 Make sure you head over there

00:30:26.600 right now,

00:30:27.100 dailywire.com.

00:30:27.860 We'll be right back

00:30:28.660 with a lot more.

00:30:29.380 Joaquin Phoenix

00:30:43.600 had an important message

00:30:44.940 at the Golden Globes.

00:30:45.820 It kind of got buried

00:30:46.660 because Ricky Gervais

00:30:48.160 just absolutely killed it

00:30:49.460 the other night

00:30:50.020 and Michelle Williams 1.00

00:30:51.980 gave a very stupid speech 1.00

00:30:53.100 about abortion. 1.00

00:30:53.840 So this moment

00:30:55.200 was not really promoted

00:30:57.060 all over the internet,

00:30:57.940 but it's an important one.

00:30:58.840 On the question

00:30:59.900 of accountability,

00:31:01.300 on the question

00:31:02.040 of how our political philosophies

00:31:05.800 relate to ourselves

00:31:07.460 and relate to politics,

00:31:09.560 Joaquin Phoenix said

00:31:10.840 that if you want

00:31:11.500 to make change in the world,

00:31:12.480 you want a virtuous world,

00:31:13.440 you want a good politics,

00:31:14.640 you've got to start

00:31:15.960 with yourself.

00:31:17.880 It's great to vote,

00:31:20.160 but sometimes we have to

00:31:21.260 take that responsibility

00:31:22.140 on ourselves

00:31:23.380 and make changes

00:31:24.700 and sacrifices

00:31:25.440 in our own lives,

00:31:26.880 and I hope that we can do that.

00:31:28.820 We don't have to take

00:31:29.520 private jets

00:31:30.180 to Palm Springs

00:31:31.260 for the awards sometimes

00:31:32.500 or back, please.

00:31:34.400 And I'll try to do better

00:31:35.580 and I hope you will too.

00:31:36.560 Thank you so much

00:31:37.180 for putting up with me.

00:31:38.100 So, on this issue,

00:31:40.980 he's just talking

00:31:41.880 about global warming.

00:31:43.620 Right?

00:31:44.120 He's saying,

00:31:44.780 we're having this

00:31:45.940 Golden Globes awards dinner.

00:31:47.840 You're all eating vegan

00:31:49.180 to make a big message.

00:31:50.460 You're all going to go vote

00:31:51.140 for Liz Warren or somebody.

00:31:52.740 But in your own personal lives,

00:31:54.560 you don't really live up

00:31:55.760 to what you proclaim

00:31:57.500 on television

00:31:58.160 and when you go

00:31:58.640 to the voting booth

00:31:59.340 because you all take

00:32:00.120 private jets,

00:32:00.840 which are horrible

00:32:01.820 for the environment.

00:32:03.060 So, really,

00:32:03.860 what you've got to do

00:32:04.720 is just start looking

00:32:06.000 at the man in the mirror

00:32:06.800 and shape up your own life

00:32:08.440 and then you'll have

00:32:08.880 a virtuous society.

00:32:10.140 The minute he suggests this,

00:32:12.120 the minute he says,

00:32:13.000 hey, leftists

00:32:13.700 who are all prattling on

00:32:14.600 about climate change,

00:32:15.860 maybe don't fly

00:32:16.840 as many private jets,

00:32:18.480 they start playing them off.

00:32:20.180 You can hear the music

00:32:20.960 start to rise up

00:32:21.800 in the clip.

00:32:23.560 It's an important note.

00:32:27.000 If you want

00:32:28.080 a virtuous society,

00:32:29.900 you have to practice virtue.

00:32:32.560 All of these guys,

00:32:33.580 George Lopez,

00:32:35.380 Bernie Sanders,

00:32:36.260 AOC,

00:32:37.900 Michael Moore,

00:32:38.980 all the ones

00:32:39.620 who are siding now

00:32:40.500 with the Ayatollah

00:32:42.100 over President Trump

00:32:43.140 because of how awful 0.86

00:32:43.960 and immoral

00:32:44.440 the,

00:32:44.980 how awful and immoral 1.00

00:32:46.120 Trump is. 1.00

00:32:47.120 Take a look at yourself.

00:32:48.540 Take a look at

00:32:49.000 who you're defending.

00:32:50.040 Take a look at

00:32:50.500 who your friends are.

00:32:51.460 Take a look at

00:32:52.020 who you're allying with.

00:32:53.780 Take a look at

00:32:54.220 how you're behaving.

00:32:55.020 I mean,

00:32:55.180 George Lopez said, 0.99

00:32:56.260 we'll kill the President 1.00

00:32:57.040 of the United States 1.00

00:32:57.720 for only 40 million.

00:32:58.720 We hate him so much.

00:33:01.240 Why?

00:33:01.700 Why are you going 0.94

00:33:02.220 to kill the President? 0.99

00:33:02.920 Because he says 0.99

00:33:03.640 mean things

00:33:04.240 on the Internet?

00:33:05.300 Hey,

00:33:05.660 buddy,

00:33:05.960 take a look

00:33:06.300 in the mirror.

00:33:07.180 Why are you going 0.97

00:33:07.900 to kill the President? 0.99

00:33:08.660 Because he's disrespectful 0.99

00:33:09.620 of his country

00:33:11.120 and his countrymen?

00:33:12.240 You just threatened 0.99

00:33:12.720 to kill the President. 0.99

00:33:13.840 Take a look 1.00

00:33:14.280 in the mirror,

00:33:14.820 okay?

00:33:15.260 If you want

00:33:15.940 a virtuous society,

00:33:17.200 it is not enough

00:33:18.700 to vote a certain way

00:33:21.380 or to have the right

00:33:24.260 bumper sticker

00:33:24.880 on your car.

00:33:25.880 You have to practice

00:33:27.100 the virtue.

00:33:27.820 I mean,

00:33:28.000 how absurd

00:33:28.660 is it

00:33:29.060 for you

00:33:30.220 to demand

00:33:32.200 that other people

00:33:32.860 practice virtue,

00:33:33.740 including the President

00:33:34.440 of the United States,

00:33:35.480 when you're not even

00:33:36.160 trying,

00:33:36.920 when you're not even

00:33:37.620 making an effort.

00:33:38.880 You're not even

00:33:39.560 trying and failing

00:33:40.620 to live up to virtue.

00:33:42.320 You're just

00:33:43.180 taking vicious potshots

00:33:45.980 from your own corner

00:33:46.820 and allying

00:33:47.320 with the worst people

00:33:48.060 on earth

00:33:48.500 while you harangue

00:33:50.480 people like Donald Trump

00:33:51.580 for not living up

00:33:54.340 to this Madisonian,

00:33:55.540 George Washingtonian

00:33:56.640 ideal of the

00:33:57.980 American leadership.

00:34:00.300 Take a look

00:34:01.160 in the mirror.

00:34:03.140 Now,

00:34:03.440 speaking of the

00:34:04.100 political scene

00:34:04.980 and the future

00:34:05.940 leaders of America,

00:34:07.320 we've got some

00:34:08.040 major little endorsements

00:34:10.620 in the 2020

00:34:11.420 Democratic

00:34:11.940 Presidential Primary.

00:34:13.320 Before we get

00:34:14.140 to the coveted

00:34:14.680 Judge Judy endorsement,

00:34:15.800 there is

00:34:16.420 the question

00:34:17.820 of Julian Castro,

00:34:19.300 my favorite

00:34:20.040 Democratic candidate,

00:34:21.640 the bold leader

00:34:23.100 who endorsed

00:34:23.740 abortion rights

00:34:24.520 for men

00:34:24.960 in a Democratic

00:34:26.660 debate.

00:34:27.180 He dropped out,

00:34:27.940 obviously,

00:34:28.340 because nobody

00:34:29.520 supported him

00:34:30.180 in the whole country.

00:34:31.580 He is now

00:34:33.260 choosing to endorse,

00:34:34.720 drum roll please,

00:34:37.260 Elizabeth Warren.

00:34:38.220 He says that

00:34:38.740 Elizabeth Warren

00:34:39.460 is the most qualified,

00:34:40.640 best equipped candidate

00:34:41.640 to win the nomination.

00:34:43.680 That is not true,

00:34:44.900 but he is endorsing

00:34:46.300 her anyway.

00:34:48.380 This is

00:34:49.360 maybe a smart move

00:34:51.480 for Castro.

00:34:52.720 It's one of the only

00:34:53.820 two moves

00:34:54.460 he could have made.

00:34:55.600 He can't endorse

00:34:56.640 Biden because he

00:34:57.820 humiliated Biden

00:34:58.820 on stage and said

00:35:00.060 that he was an old man

00:35:00.980 who had dementia

00:35:01.980 and was forgetting

00:35:02.560 things that he said

00:35:03.200 two minutes before.

00:35:04.060 It was a really,

00:35:04.460 really ugly attack.

00:35:06.300 He's not going to go

00:35:07.080 for Buttigieg

00:35:07.740 because Buttigieg

00:35:08.360 is now playing

00:35:09.080 the moderate role

00:35:10.000 in the race

00:35:10.660 and Castro decided

00:35:11.640 to play the far

00:35:12.340 leftist role in the race

00:35:13.360 endorsing abortion 0.82

00:35:14.120 for men.

00:35:15.060 So that leaves

00:35:16.120 Warren and Sanders.

00:35:17.560 Sanders is the

00:35:20.720 real deal radical.

00:35:22.740 Sanders honeymooned

00:35:24.020 in the Soviet Union.

00:35:25.420 Sanders was friends

00:35:26.680 with Karl Marx,

00:35:27.440 I think.

00:35:27.840 I'm pretty sure.

00:35:28.460 I think it was

00:35:28.700 Marx, Engels,

00:35:30.100 and Sanders

00:35:30.720 who were drafting

00:35:32.020 the Communist Manifesto.

00:35:33.240 Poor Bernie

00:35:33.640 was left out.

00:35:36.640 So he could go

00:35:37.580 for Sanders,

00:35:38.360 the real deal radical,

00:35:39.720 or he could go

00:35:40.320 for Warren,

00:35:41.100 who is the more

00:35:42.200 cynical radical.

00:35:43.660 Warren has positioned

00:35:44.600 herself as an

00:35:45.240 establishment figure

00:35:46.020 at various times

00:35:46.700 in her life

00:35:47.200 and she's positioned

00:35:48.760 herself as a radical

00:35:49.960 now.

00:35:51.120 She doesn't have

00:35:52.320 much regard

00:35:52.780 for the truth.

00:35:53.320 The same thing

00:35:53.740 could be said

00:35:54.100 of Julian Castro.

00:35:55.000 Julian Castro

00:35:55.680 was a Clinton Democrat

00:35:57.060 until the day

00:35:57.640 before yesterday

00:35:58.440 when he thought

00:35:59.200 it would behoove him

00:36:00.120 to move further

00:36:01.360 to the left.

00:36:02.360 He's a real

00:36:02.900 calculating politician

00:36:04.020 so he sees

00:36:04.960 a similar figure

00:36:06.840 in Elizabeth Warren.

00:36:09.080 Now I think

00:36:09.760 if he were really

00:36:10.520 making a play

00:36:11.320 for 2020,

00:36:12.960 he probably would

00:36:13.740 have gone for Sanders.

00:36:14.640 I think right now

00:36:15.600 Sanders has a better

00:36:16.720 chance of getting

00:36:18.640 this nomination.

00:36:19.580 Sanders is vastly

00:36:20.840 outraising Elizabeth Warren.

00:36:22.540 He's vastly outraising

00:36:23.400 everybody in the field

00:36:24.300 and he's actually

00:36:26.640 standing for something.

00:36:27.760 He is sort of

00:36:28.240 outside the mainstream

00:36:29.260 which at this moment

00:36:30.560 in politics

00:36:31.080 is pretty helpful.

00:36:33.000 And Elizabeth Warren

00:36:33.940 is tanking, right?

00:36:34.940 Her momentum 0.73

00:36:35.700 is totally dropped.

00:36:37.260 It doesn't exist anymore

00:36:38.260 and Sanders

00:36:39.160 is gaining momentum.

00:36:40.080 So if he were really

00:36:40.720 concerned about 2020,

00:36:42.120 probably Castro

00:36:42.820 would have endorsed Sanders

00:36:43.780 but I think Castro

00:36:45.240 is looking down the road.

00:36:46.520 I think the whole

00:36:47.020 Democratic Party

00:36:47.680 is not terribly hopeful

00:36:48.580 that they're going

00:36:49.060 to win in 2020.

00:36:50.220 They don't really have

00:36:50.860 a top tier candidate.

00:36:52.180 So I think he's looking

00:36:53.300 at 2024, 2028.

00:36:55.140 He's saying, you know,

00:36:55.940 Bernie Sanders

00:36:56.480 is pretty up there in age

00:36:57.720 and Elizabeth Warren

00:36:59.560 has a long career

00:37:00.420 ahead of her.

00:37:01.280 This might be a good

00:37:01.940 partnership to begin

00:37:02.860 and especially right now

00:37:03.980 that Liz Warren's

00:37:05.000 stock is dropping,

00:37:06.280 that he could buy

00:37:07.660 pretty cheap,

00:37:08.800 that she needs

00:37:09.580 these sort of endorsements.

00:37:10.700 I think he thinks

00:37:11.760 that his endorsement

00:37:12.380 is going to go

00:37:12.960 significantly further

00:37:14.220 with Elizabeth Warren.

00:37:16.140 This is a signal

00:37:16.880 of the weakness

00:37:17.900 of the Warren campaign.

00:37:20.140 The fact that she's got

00:37:20.940 to pick up these cheap

00:37:21.720 little endorsements

00:37:22.460 right now.

00:37:23.400 The fact that they

00:37:24.120 would be so helpful

00:37:25.260 to the people

00:37:26.020 who are endorsing.

00:37:28.080 Another candidate

00:37:29.340 to trot out an endorsement

00:37:30.500 this week

00:37:30.820 was Michael Bloomberg.

00:37:32.440 You might have forgotten

00:37:33.100 that former New York City

00:37:35.100 half Republican,

00:37:36.460 half Democrat,

00:37:37.380 billionaire extraordinaire

00:37:38.300 Mike Bloomberg was running.

00:37:40.180 Bloomberg trotted out

00:37:41.460 the coveted

00:37:43.760 Judge Judy endorsement.

00:37:46.200 Here she is.

00:37:47.780 I'm Judge Judy Scheindler.

00:37:49.960 I like to say

00:37:50.880 you can judge

00:37:51.820 someone's character

00:37:52.680 by what they've done.

00:37:54.820 Mike Bloomberg

00:37:55.300 has done amazing things

00:37:56.680 and will be

00:37:57.760 a truly great president.

00:37:59.720 No one comes close

00:38:01.040 to Mike Bloomberg's

00:38:01.980 executive achievement,

00:38:03.620 government experience,

00:38:05.180 and impactful philanthropy.

00:38:07.080 His steady leadership

00:38:08.080 will unite our country

00:38:09.320 and bring us through

00:38:10.600 these very challenging times.

00:38:13.040 I'm Mike Bloomberg

00:38:14.000 and I approve this message.

00:38:16.660 All right,

00:38:17.280 you got it, Mike.

00:38:18.280 Congratulations.

00:38:19.420 This highlights

00:38:20.340 the central problem

00:38:21.680 with the Bloomberg campaign,

00:38:22.860 which is that

00:38:23.280 there's nobody

00:38:23.840 to vote for him.

00:38:24.960 Nobody likes

00:38:25.960 his point of view,

00:38:26.880 which is as a sort of

00:38:28.200 fiscal conservative,

00:38:30.220 you might say,

00:38:31.080 or low taxes,

00:38:33.700 pro-free trade,

00:38:35.180 pro-free,

00:38:35.800 generally pro-free market

00:38:37.180 economics guy,

00:38:38.220 and a big social liberal

00:38:39.860 who wants to take away

00:38:41.200 all of our guns

00:38:41.920 and promote a radical

00:38:42.820 social agenda.

00:38:44.840 Abortion,

00:38:45.820 the whole nine yards.

00:38:48.800 Every elite person

00:38:50.280 on the coasts

00:38:51.420 who went to

00:38:52.260 very fancy schools,

00:38:53.580 who has a very fancy job,

00:38:55.400 everybody

00:38:55.820 in that social strata

00:38:58.240 believes what

00:38:59.340 Mike Bloomberg believes,

00:39:00.520 but they account

00:39:01.520 for like 4%

00:39:02.440 of the country.

00:39:03.020 I think the actual number

00:39:04.800 according to polling

00:39:05.400 is 4% to 4.5%

00:39:06.800 who would call themselves

00:39:08.560 fiscal conservative

00:39:09.280 social liberals

00:39:09.980 like Mike Bloomberg.

00:39:11.400 And so there's just

00:39:12.360 no audience for this.

00:39:13.740 I mean, Judge Judy,

00:39:14.960 she's a celebrity

00:39:15.880 New Yorker

00:39:16.700 who's a kind of

00:39:17.360 political moderate,

00:39:19.100 so she's a natural fit 0.76

00:39:20.960 for Mike Bloomberg,

00:39:21.800 but very few people

00:39:23.120 fit that bill.

00:39:25.620 It's evidence

00:39:27.820 even further

00:39:28.920 of an AstroTurf campaign.

00:39:30.480 Another good evidence

00:39:31.140 of this yesterday,

00:39:33.020 Team Bloomberg,

00:39:34.240 the Bloomberg campaign

00:39:35.500 Twitter account,

00:39:36.620 posted a photo

00:39:37.800 of Bloomberg

00:39:39.160 somewhere on the

00:39:39.780 campaign trail

00:39:40.560 at a barbecue joint.

00:39:42.600 And it says,

00:39:43.780 find someone

00:39:44.240 who looks at you

00:39:45.100 the way Mike

00:39:45.740 looks at ribs

00:39:46.620 with the big

00:39:47.360 googly eyes emoji.

00:39:50.100 And the trouble

00:39:50.960 with the photo

00:39:51.940 is that nobody

00:39:53.220 is eating ribs.

00:39:54.820 They're actually

00:39:55.580 eating brisket.

00:39:56.620 The only ribs

00:39:57.420 in the photo

00:39:58.160 are human ribs,

00:39:59.360 and if that's what

00:40:00.360 the team was implying

00:40:01.420 there with the tweet,

00:40:02.140 that's pretty creepy.

00:40:04.060 Really,

00:40:04.560 what you need to do

00:40:05.220 is find someone

00:40:06.280 who knows what ribs are,

00:40:07.520 unlike the Mike

00:40:08.120 Bloomberg staffer

00:40:08.860 who posted that tweet.

00:40:10.760 It's all just

00:40:12.100 AstroTurf.

00:40:13.040 I don't think

00:40:13.460 Mike Bloomberg

00:40:14.000 eats ribs.

00:40:15.780 I don't think

00:40:16.320 Mike Bloomberg

00:40:16.860 rolls his shirt sleeves up.

00:40:18.460 I think Mike Bloomberg

00:40:19.340 is a very fancy

00:40:20.940 billionaire

00:40:21.380 who has lived

00:40:22.620 in New York

00:40:23.360 for his entire life,

00:40:25.080 who drinks

00:40:26.640 very good wines,

00:40:27.820 and who talks

00:40:29.160 to very elite people

00:40:30.340 about very elite things,

00:40:31.840 which is perfectly fine.

00:40:33.700 I think he should be him.

00:40:34.820 I think he's going

00:40:35.240 to have a much better job

00:40:36.260 convincing people

00:40:37.340 that that's who he is

00:40:38.180 rather than that he's

00:40:38.860 some working class guy

00:40:39.800 who doesn't even know

00:40:40.300 what ribs are.

00:40:41.960 But it shows you

00:40:43.620 a key aspect

00:40:44.900 of Trump's appeal,

00:40:46.020 which is that

00:40:47.020 he is a billionaire

00:40:47.860 who doesn't act

00:40:48.900 like a billionaire.

00:40:50.320 He is a billionaire

00:40:51.360 who doesn't talk fancy.

00:40:53.420 He talks like

00:40:54.320 a construction worker

00:40:55.120 and always has.

00:40:56.100 It's not like

00:40:56.480 he's putting on a show

00:40:57.120 to run for president.

00:40:58.320 He has always

00:40:59.040 talked that way.

00:41:00.000 He's a billionaire

00:41:00.580 who wants to eat KFC

00:41:02.600 rather than

00:41:03.700 all the fancy food

00:41:05.020 that Mike Bloomberg eats.

00:41:06.460 Right?

00:41:06.600 He's a billionaire

00:41:07.000 who actually probably

00:41:07.800 knows what ribs are.

00:41:09.460 He's a billionaire

00:41:10.260 who famously

00:41:11.040 when he orders steak,

00:41:12.100 he orders it burnt

00:41:12.980 with ketchup.

00:41:13.880 He doesn't order

00:41:14.440 steak tartare

00:41:15.240 with a very nice

00:41:16.180 Chablis

00:41:17.200 or an Albarino wine

00:41:19.180 on the side.

00:41:19.540 Right?

00:41:19.720 He doesn't do that.

00:41:20.460 He drinks Diet Coke.

00:41:21.260 He actually doesn't drink

00:41:21.940 alcohol at all.

00:41:23.220 That is a real

00:41:24.000 political advantage

00:41:24.780 for Trump.

00:41:25.280 These guys 0.67

00:41:27.040 are just jokers

00:41:28.280 in the democratic field

00:41:29.300 and if the recent

00:41:30.920 endorsements

00:41:31.420 are any indication

00:41:32.120 it's not getting

00:41:33.000 better for them.

00:41:33.700 Before we go

00:41:34.200 I've got to talk about

00:41:35.460 the Methodist church

00:41:37.360 splitting up.

00:41:38.740 The United Methodist

00:41:39.880 church leaders

00:41:40.560 are now proposing

00:41:42.240 a split

00:41:42.920 in their church

00:41:43.880 to resolve

00:41:45.460 a debate over

00:41:46.300 LGBT clergy

00:41:48.180 and same-sex weddings.

00:41:50.340 So they're actually,

00:41:51.020 I mean that's pretty radical.

00:41:52.060 They're talking about

00:41:52.600 the church actually

00:41:53.420 officiating

00:41:54.200 same-sex wedding ceremonies.

00:41:57.740 This is a proposal

00:41:59.300 from the 16-member group

00:42:00.460 of bishops

00:42:00.860 and church leaders

00:42:01.720 and they say

00:42:02.940 the separation

00:42:03.500 may be quote

00:42:04.560 the best means

00:42:05.400 to resolve our differences

00:42:06.340 allowing each part

00:42:07.340 of the church

00:42:07.820 to remain true

00:42:08.860 to its theological

00:42:09.720 understanding

00:42:10.520 while recognizing

00:42:11.880 the dignity,

00:42:12.440 equality,

00:42:12.800 integrity,

00:42:13.140 and respect

00:42:13.460 of every person.

00:42:14.240 So they can't figure out

00:42:15.160 this question

00:42:16.040 of radical

00:42:16.740 social

00:42:18.000 progressivism

00:42:20.960 I guess you would call

00:42:21.620 or leftism

00:42:22.260 and so now

00:42:23.100 they're going to split up.

00:42:24.840 I mention this story

00:42:25.820 for a couple of reasons.

00:42:28.240 One,

00:42:28.820 it's to show you

00:42:29.740 that 0.99

00:42:30.660 it's a fool's errand 0.99

00:42:33.000 for the church 0.99

00:42:33.800 to try to become

00:42:34.620 more like the world.

00:42:35.860 Every Christian denomination

00:42:37.660 has done this

00:42:38.820 at various points

00:42:39.680 including

00:42:40.180 maybe especially

00:42:41.060 the Catholic church.

00:42:42.120 They've tried to

00:42:43.260 become more like the world.

00:42:44.880 They say if only we

00:42:46.020 more closely resemble

00:42:47.420 the world

00:42:48.040 then we'll be able

00:42:49.000 to attract people

00:42:49.700 to our pews

00:42:50.400 and what happened?

00:42:51.860 The exact opposite

00:42:52.840 proved true.

00:42:54.080 When the mainstream

00:42:54.640 Protestant churches

00:42:55.440 in America

00:42:55.980 tried to become

00:42:56.920 more modern,

00:42:57.780 more hip,

00:42:58.320 more cool,

00:42:58.840 more like the world

00:42:59.540 the pews emptied out.

00:43:01.160 When the Catholic church 0.88

00:43:02.000 tried to become

00:43:02.520 more modern,

00:43:03.140 more hip,

00:43:03.540 more cool,

00:43:04.020 more like the world

00:43:04.620 after Vatican II

00:43:05.900 guess what happened?

00:43:06.640 The pews emptied out.

00:43:07.560 The only people

00:43:08.060 who go to church anymore

00:43:08.960 the only people

00:43:09.900 who are increasing

00:43:10.720 their church attendance

00:43:12.080 are the traditionalists

00:43:13.460 who are going

00:43:13.800 to Latin masses

00:43:14.540 ever since Pope Benedict

00:43:15.960 permitted the Latin mass again.

00:43:18.140 The same thing is true 0.98

00:43:19.000 in evangelical churches.

00:43:20.280 The ones that try

00:43:21.400 to become more hip

00:43:22.220 and more cool

00:43:22.760 and more like the world

00:43:23.640 with a few exceptions

00:43:24.760 are the ones

00:43:25.680 that empty out

00:43:26.260 and the ones

00:43:26.720 that try to preach

00:43:27.660 a more orthodox message

00:43:28.840 those are the ones

00:43:29.900 that fill up.

00:43:32.700 That's one aspect

00:43:33.720 of this story.

00:43:34.280 The other one

00:43:35.040 is to just show

00:43:37.260 one of the arguments

00:43:39.240 for the Catholic church

00:43:40.220 because I get these questions

00:43:41.380 all the time

00:43:42.060 in the mailbag.

00:43:42.680 They say,

00:43:42.860 why are you Catholic?

00:43:43.460 And I usually give

00:43:44.320 theological answers

00:43:46.240 to that

00:43:46.760 or answers

00:43:47.440 from symbolism

00:43:48.380 or from literature

00:43:49.280 or from the nature

00:43:49.900 of language

00:43:50.420 or philosophical

00:43:51.100 at right.

00:43:52.600 This is just

00:43:53.440 a very practical

00:43:54.380 reason

00:43:55.660 for the Catholic church

00:43:57.440 which is

00:43:58.000 after you had

00:43:59.940 the Protestant revolution

00:44:01.040 you got

00:44:02.740 tens of thousands

00:44:04.160 of different

00:44:04.700 Protestant denominations

00:44:05.880 each claiming

00:44:06.640 to be the truth

00:44:07.420 each claiming

00:44:08.300 to represent

00:44:08.900 the truth

00:44:09.560 of the Bible

00:44:10.260 you know

00:44:10.680 to be a Bible church

00:44:11.560 or the truth

00:44:12.600 of the apostolic tradition

00:44:13.820 or the truth

00:44:14.500 of Christian history

00:44:16.220 or whatever

00:44:17.340 they can't all be right

00:44:20.240 there has to be

00:44:21.880 some authority

00:44:22.700 and this argument

00:44:24.460 that actually does

00:44:26.380 sort of come

00:44:27.080 from the authority

00:44:28.020 of the apostolic tradition

00:44:29.760 refers to a passage

00:44:31.640 in scripture

00:44:32.120 where Christ

00:44:34.340 looks at his apostles

00:44:35.280 and the ones

00:44:36.220 who haven't left him

00:44:37.160 after he makes

00:44:38.000 the hard saying

00:44:38.800 about the Eucharist

00:44:39.640 after he says

00:44:40.180 you've got to eat

00:44:40.920 my flesh 0.98

00:44:41.860 and drink my blood 0.96

00:44:42.680 or you have no life 1.00

00:44:43.540 in you

00:44:43.840 a lot of people

00:44:45.040 go away

00:44:45.640 and then

00:44:47.260 his apostles

00:44:49.020 stay

00:44:49.520 and he says

00:44:50.760 you haven't left me

00:44:51.520 and Peter says

00:44:52.240 where shall we go

00:44:54.140 where else

00:44:55.300 could we go

00:44:55.800 and that is

00:44:56.440 the argument

00:44:57.240 for Christianity

00:44:59.720 from authority

00:45:00.560 and specifically

00:45:01.180 for the Catholic church

00:45:02.320 I mean that

00:45:02.720 that is one

00:45:03.260 that refers directly

00:45:04.160 to that authority

00:45:05.080 because if you

00:45:05.840 crack that authority

00:45:07.140 then you get

00:45:08.340 30,000 different

00:45:09.600 denominations

00:45:10.260 that split up

00:45:10.900 you know

00:45:11.460 every few weeks

00:45:12.680 it would seem

00:45:13.540 and that authority

00:45:15.020 is important

00:45:15.480 in politics too

00:45:16.660 it's not sufficient

00:45:18.180 it can't be

00:45:18.780 the only argument

00:45:19.700 but

00:45:20.680 when you

00:45:22.380 look at

00:45:24.240 your political

00:45:25.040 point of view

00:45:25.620 and you see

00:45:27.480 that it's leading

00:45:28.140 you to oppose

00:45:29.600 the very

00:45:30.620 bonds of loyalty

00:45:32.460 to your country

00:45:33.220 themselves

00:45:34.060 that they

00:45:35.100 lead you to

00:45:35.820 oppose your tradition

00:45:36.800 they lead you

00:45:37.640 to oppose

00:45:38.220 your own countrymen

00:45:39.180 and decide

00:45:39.760 with vicious 0.98

00:45:41.060 terrorists 0.99

00:45:41.640 and the worst 1.00

00:45:42.180 people on earth

00:45:42.900 maybe you've

00:45:43.880 got to rethink

00:45:44.780 your point of view

00:45:45.780 that's true

00:45:46.560 politically

00:45:47.600 culturally

00:45:48.220 it's true

00:45:49.440 all the way

00:45:49.920 up the line

00:45:50.360 all the way

00:45:50.620 up to religious

00:45:51.240 questions

00:45:51.840 there are

00:45:53.440 practical effects

00:45:54.640 of ideas

00:45:55.520 in the real world

00:45:57.200 they will lead you

00:45:58.240 to real human

00:45:59.200 interaction

00:45:59.860 they will lead you

00:46:00.960 to real political

00:46:02.100 institutions

00:46:02.900 to put it simply

00:46:05.100 ideas matter

00:46:06.580 and if

00:46:07.500 all of the

00:46:08.060 matter around

00:46:08.720 you

00:46:08.880 if all of the

00:46:09.360 relationships

00:46:09.840 around you

00:46:10.480 seem to be

00:46:11.160 a little off

00:46:12.320 kilter

00:46:12.800 if all of the

00:46:14.260 actions that you're

00:46:15.000 being impelled to do

00:46:15.840 seem a little off

00:46:16.580 kilter

00:46:16.840 then maybe

00:46:17.280 you've got to

00:46:18.000 change the ideas
