The Michael Knowles Show - Ep. 481 - Shooting Down The Narrative

00:00:00.000 Financing your first home can feel overwhelming, but TD can help make things a little calmer.

00:00:07.680 If you choose more frequent payments, like weekly or bi-weekly, you'll gently chip away at your principal faster, helping you pay less interest over time.

00:00:20.440 Request a calming call with TD Mortgage Direct and say hello to good advice.

00:00:30.000 Yesterday, white supremacist, Hitler-loving neo-Nazis wearing Make America Great Again hats and toting fully semi-automatic double-barreled AR-47 assault rifles descended on the Virginia Statehouse to take over the government and establish a Prussian ethnostate in the fevered imagination of the mainstream media.

00:00:53.100 In reality, law-abiding gun owners of all colors and backgrounds showed up on Lobby Day to defend their constitutionally protected civil rights.

00:01:02.000 And there was no violence whatsoever, and they cleaned up after themselves when they left.

00:01:06.640 We will examine how Virginia gun owners shot down the leftist narrative on our Second Amendment rights.

00:01:11.900 Then, AOC has the single dumbest conversation I've ever heard with leftist journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates, President Trump's impeachment trial kicks off, and some great news for the pro-life cause ahead of the March for Life.

00:01:26.100 All that and more. 0.64

00:01:27.140 I'm Michael Knowles, and this is The Michael Knowles Show.

00:01:28.940 So much to get to.

00:01:37.620 Yesterday was a very, very scary day for the mainstream media.

00:01:42.960 It was not a scary day for anybody else.

00:01:45.540 It was a totally normal day, and there was a wonderful demonstration for some of our basic civil rights that took place in Virginia.

00:01:51.500 But for the mainstream media, it was a terrifying day, presumably because their fellow Americans were demonstrating on behalf of their own civil rights.

00:02:00.640 There was a pro-Second Amendment rally yesterday in Virginia.

00:02:05.260 Thousands and thousands of people were there.

00:02:08.220 The left told us, politicians on the left, elected federal politicians and state politicians, and the mainstream media, 0.80

00:02:15.440 told us that the rally was going to include white supremacists and domestic terrorists.

00:02:22.120 We needed a state of emergency in Virginia. 0.97

00:02:24.700 They were going to come to the Commonwealth of Virginia and cause violence and mayhem. 0.89

00:02:31.120 Here is a quick montage put together by newsbusters of the terror ahead of the Second Amendment rally.

00:02:37.720 Right now, thousands of gun rights activists, white nationalists, militia groups, all swarming the Virginia state capitol.

00:02:45.840 There are a lot of people nervous about what's going to happen.

00:02:47.940 Authorities in Richmond are on high alert.

00:02:49.740 It could be a tense day.

00:02:50.620 Such polarization, what may happen in Virginia.

00:02:53.540 Several hate groups.

00:02:54.700 Supposedly some white nationalists. 0.88

00:02:56.280 White nationalists.

00:02:57.540 White nationalists. 0.55

00:02:58.400 White nationalists.

00:02:59.280 White nationalist groups. 0.97

00:03:00.360 White supremacists. 0.99

00:03:01.140 White supremacists. 1.00

00:03:01.940 White supremacists. 1.00

00:03:02.800 White extremists. 0.99

00:03:03.860 This entire rally stands in opposition to the meaning of this day. 0.84

00:03:08.760 Virginia on the edge.

00:03:09.820 How concerned are you that there might be some people in this crowd that may want to get violent?

00:03:14.300 There's certainly a lot of concern here.

00:03:15.740 Raising fears of a dangerous confrontation.

00:03:17.520 It could be violence.

00:03:18.460 There is real concern there about what the intention is behind this.

00:03:21.880 There's a lot of concern about the potential for violence.

00:03:25.020 Could spark violence.

00:03:26.080 Tensions high in Virginia may cause violence there.

00:03:28.700 Northam clearly trying to avoid another Charlottesville.

00:03:30.980 In Charlottesville.

00:03:31.640 Could see a repeat of what we saw in 2017.

00:03:33.860 In Charlottesville.

00:03:34.660 Similar to what we saw in Charlottesville.

00:03:36.560 Worrying about a repeat of Charlottesville.

00:03:38.880 Horrible 2017 Charlottesville disaster.

00:03:41.440 You look at what happened in Charlottesville.

00:03:42.700 The two sides clashed in Charlottesville.

00:03:44.580 Men walk through the capital in Virginia carrying weapons of war.

00:03:48.980 Many demonstrators are in fact heavily armed.

00:03:51.880 Heavily, heavily armed.

00:03:52.900 Heavily armed.

00:03:53.640 Look at the gear.

00:03:54.540 What is this all about?

00:03:55.820 Militia groups.

00:03:56.720 Armed militia.

00:03:57.580 These militia groups.

00:03:58.660 Far-right militia.

00:03:59.440 Militia.

00:03:59.940 Militia groups.

00:04:00.580 Far-right extremists.

00:04:01.720 Extremists.

00:04:02.300 Extremists.

00:04:02.740 That is not a fraction of the hysterical coverage that we saw before this rally in Virginia.

00:04:10.020 That is not a small fraction of it.

00:04:12.640 Okay?

00:04:13.540 And they told us it's tensions, high alert.

00:04:17.460 Obviously, CNN was on high alert.

00:04:19.240 Obviously, there were a lot of tensions in the newsrooms over at the New York Times and CNN.

00:04:23.140 But how did the rally actually turn out?

00:04:27.460 We cut back to a very disappointed CNN.

00:04:30.560 Look, those threats which caused the governor to call for a state of emergency have simply not emerged.

00:04:36.560 The police very clear in saying that they have not had a single arrest during this rally.

00:04:41.740 Those threats, those threats came from you.

00:04:43.980 You did it.

00:04:44.760 You, the mainstream media, you created the tension.

00:04:48.520 You tried to provoke a violent incident in Charlottesville.

00:04:52.180 And it didn't work because the people who were demonstrating were not neo-Nazis.

00:04:56.000 They were not white supremacists.

00:04:57.480 They were not white extremists.

00:04:59.980 That's a new term.

00:05:01.000 I hadn't heard that one before.

00:05:02.020 How do you, how can you be extremely white? 0.52

00:05:04.720 Like, are you Scandinavian?

00:05:06.500 Is that, that makes you extremely white? 0.76

00:05:08.100 There are all of these new terms to try to gin up, in particular, racial division and racial hatred.

00:05:13.600 And it just didn't happen.

00:05:15.400 None of it happened.

00:05:16.800 Because, generally speaking, Second Amendment advocates are very concerned with obeying the law.

00:05:24.460 I mean, they're basing their gun rights enthusiasm on the Constitution, right?

00:05:29.600 That's where we get our right to keep and bear arms.

00:05:33.120 CNN had an incredible headline.

00:05:35.880 The CNN headline read,

00:05:37.420 Virginia gun rights rally concludes peacefully despite earlier fears of extremist violence.

00:05:44.940 That's just the headline.

00:05:47.080 Whose fears?

00:05:48.940 Their fears.

00:05:50.760 Those are the only people who had the fears.

00:05:53.640 They go on in the story.

00:05:55.040 A large gun rights rally in Virginia's state capitol unfolded peacefully Monday,

00:05:59.060 despite earlier fears of the kind of violence that took place in nearby Charlottesville three years ago.

00:06:05.640 We'll hold it there.

00:06:08.560 What on earth would link a lobby day demonstration in favor of a basic civil right to Charlottesville?

00:06:19.840 Charlottesville, an event that took place, as they say, three years ago, completely unrelated,

00:06:25.360 completely different groups, completely different point.

00:06:27.900 Even the rosiest take of the Charlottesville event was that they were there,

00:06:33.880 or some people were there, to protest the taking down of historical statues.

00:06:38.400 The event that took place on lobby day was to demonstrate in support of our Second Amendment rights.

00:06:43.460 Have no connection whatsoever.

00:06:44.800 But the left is so desperate to gin up racial hatred that they have to draw a comparison between completely unrelated events.

00:06:52.920 So they go, it could be like Charlottesville three years ago.

00:06:57.020 Security was tight as gun rights advocates descended on Richmond for lobby day to oppose legislation that would restrict access to firearms in the state.

00:07:06.320 The Commonwealth braced for the potential of extremist and white nationalist groups to disrupt the peaceful demonstrations.

00:07:13.160 Ralph Northam declared a state of emergency last week to ban open and concealed firearms and other weapons from the state capitol grounds.

00:07:20.820 The crowd, however, was peaceful with no immediate reports of arrests or violence.

00:07:25.820 Surprise, surprise.

00:07:26.900 The whole demonstration had nothing whatsoever to do with race.

00:07:31.960 And actually, one citizen journalist approached one of the many black pro-Second Amendment demonstrators and asked him if he was a white supremacist.

00:07:40.740 We'll get to that in a second.

00:07:42.380 We will get to what this means for us, for the media, and looking ahead into 2020.

00:07:48.100 First, though, I've got to thank our friends over at Ring because, you know, it's very, very important to feel safe.

00:08:22.580 I'm going to give them away to friends and family as housewarming gifts.

00:08:26.740 They don't get mine personally, but I love this product so much.

00:08:30.900 I always make it a gift because I know that people are going to feel safer.

00:08:35.300 I'll give you an example.

00:08:36.320 I've told you about my senior producer who had these wackos show up to his door in the middle of the night, and he was able to speak to them through the phone, and they chased him away. 0.97

00:08:44.540 I also told you about my friends who thought they had a burglar coming around their house.

00:08:47.840 It turned out to be just a cute little possum.

00:08:49.800 Regardless, you just get peace of mind whether you're in your home or at the office or on a beach somewhere on the other side of the world.

00:08:59.000 Go get Ring right now.

00:09:26.340 Ring.com slash Knowles, K-N-O-W-L-E-S. 0.99

00:09:29.020 That is Ring.com slash Knowles.

00:09:31.620 So the event in Virginia had nothing whatsoever to do with race, and one citizen journalist approaches one of the black demonstrators there,

00:09:41.740 and he asked him, he said, I heard all these media reports that this was a white supremacist rally.

00:09:47.660 So are you, sir, a black man, a white supremacist?

00:09:50.940 Here's his answer. 0.99

00:09:51.960 Are you a white supremacist? 0.97

00:09:53.340 Yeah. 0.94

00:09:53.960 Am I a white supremacist?

00:09:54.680 I was told there would be white supremacists.

00:09:56.120 This ain't me, I got dreads. 0.99

00:09:57.360 Oh, wow, you really are black-based. 1.00

00:10:02.800 United, we stand, brother. 0.99

00:10:03.960 That's right, brother.

00:10:04.940 Yes, sir.

00:10:05.600 United, we stand.

00:10:06.480 But they mad because there wasn't no civil unrest.

00:10:09.400 Now they're going to be mad because there wasn't no fight.

00:10:12.020 Now they're going to be mad because then nobody get locked up.

00:10:14.940 They're going to be mad because all the officers is at peace.

00:10:18.720 They're going to be mad because there ain't nobody out here fighting.

00:10:22.080 They mad, but guess what?

00:10:23.420 United, we stand.

00:10:24.680 That's what this was about.

00:10:26.120 That's right, brother.

00:10:26.580 I'm from St. Louis, and I ain't even had to bring no weapon.

00:10:29.300 Don't need no weapon.

00:10:30.480 None of us need no weapon, but we got them.

00:10:32.260 We got them.

00:10:33.160 We got them.

00:10:33.980 We got each other back.

00:10:35.420 Why?

00:10:35.900 Because United, we stand.

00:10:37.100 That's what it's about.

00:10:37.960 That's right.

00:10:38.500 Amen.

00:10:38.780 United, we stand.

00:10:39.620 That's right, bro.

00:10:39.980 That's right.

00:10:40.500 White, black, Hispanic, Latino, Mexican, whatever.

00:10:44.380 United, we stand.

00:10:45.560 They're not going to make this no communist state.

00:10:47.740 They're not going to make us no felons.

00:10:50.200 They're not going to turn our law enforcement officers against us just because y'all on some nonsense.

00:10:54.920 I love this guy.

00:10:57.100 You know, obviously, he's speaking very casually here, but there's a lot of insight in what he's saying.

00:11:02.060 He's saying they're going to be really mad that there's not violence here.

00:11:05.180 They're going to be really mad that there's not division here.

00:11:07.680 They're going to be really mad that there's not hatred here.

00:11:09.900 That's what they've been trying to gin up all week.

00:11:12.540 But United, we stand.

00:11:13.620 And what are we standing united behind?

00:11:16.020 Our constitution, our shared culture, our shared country, because we're all fellow countrymen here.

00:11:22.800 Really beautiful stuff.

00:11:24.280 I love it.

00:11:24.600 He says, we don't even need weapons.

00:11:26.360 We don't need them right here, but we got them.

00:11:29.200 And that's kind of the point.

00:11:30.940 We don't need weapons.

00:11:31.880 I don't pack a gun every place I go and I'm like armed to the hilt all the time.

00:11:36.460 No.

00:11:37.460 The reason that I don't feel that I have to be is because we do have the right to keep and bear arms.

00:11:42.980 The very fact that the individual in America has the right to keep and bear arms is a wonderful protection against tyranny.

00:11:51.420 It's a wonderful protection of our life and our liberty and our property and the loved ones around us.

00:11:57.220 And because we have that right, we don't need to be so worried about it all the time.

00:12:01.120 We just have to protect that freedom.

00:12:04.540 The media were mad.

00:12:06.280 They were mad.

00:12:07.460 They went mad not even just in the sense that they were angry.

00:12:10.020 They went mad in the sense that they went insane.

00:12:12.720 NBC News reporter Ben Collins, he ended up, to his credit, deleting a completely baseless tweet alleging that the demonstration was a white supremacist rally.

00:12:23.260 Here's what he said.

00:12:23.720 Reporters covering tomorrow's white nationalist rally in Virginia, I'm absolutely begging you, verify information before you send it out tomorrow.

00:12:34.620 Even if it's a very sensational rumor you heard from a cop, don't become a hero in neo-Nazi propaganda circles with made-up stuff.

00:12:44.020 Now, I love this tweet.

00:12:46.700 This tweet, to me, sums up the entire mainstream media, which is a sanctimonious, sneering sort of advice to fellow Americans, and in this case, fellow elites, proving the point that he thinks he's making and proving the point with him as the butt of the joke.

00:13:08.000 He's like, I'm begging you, do not tweet out baseless information and completely made-up stuff tomorrow at the neo-Nazi Hitler-lover rally.

00:13:18.420 He's like, buddy, it's a Second Amendment rally.

00:13:20.540 You did it.

00:13:21.400 You're the one doing it.

00:13:22.760 Not just him, at least to his credit, Ben Collins deleted the tweet, but the whole rest of the mainstream media did too.

00:13:28.160 Another NBC News correspondent, Gabe Gutierrez, tweeted out a video of the rally, and what he wrote next to the video was,

00:13:38.720 chants of, we will not comply from gun rights protesters in Richmond.

00:13:45.300 So I said, okay, well, fair enough.

00:13:46.800 I mean, if someone tries to take away my basic constitutional rights, I certainly won't comply with that.

00:13:51.500 But let's just see, because I don't believe a word that these people say anymore, let's just see what they're actually chanting.

00:13:56.740 And I clicked the play button, and this is what I heard.

00:13:58.680 See if you can make it out.

00:13:59.580 Congratulations to the pledge of the United States of America!

00:14:06.060 All right, I didn't hear a whole lot of we will not comply there.

00:14:24.400 What I heard was the Pledge of Allegiance.

00:14:26.820 But I'm not surprised that the mainstream media couldn't recognize the Pledge of Allegiance.

00:14:30.440 I assume they haven't heard it and certainly haven't said it in many, many years.

00:14:34.600 That was the tip of the iceberg, okay?

00:14:36.920 Only the mainstream media were surprised that the event yesterday went off very well,

00:14:42.380 because the mainstream media believe that only nuts own guns. 0.57

00:14:46.120 They think it's only lunatics who own guns. 0.91

00:14:47.740 But think about this.

00:14:50.560 In a standoff, in a peaceful demonstration between people defending the Constitution

00:14:57.120 and lawless legislators trying to run roughshod over people's basic civil rights,

00:15:03.980 which group do you think is more likely to behave lawlessly?

00:15:08.480 The ones defending the Constitution or the ones trying to shred the Constitution?

00:15:13.580 Obviously, the Second Amendment defenders are the ones who are going to behave according to the law.

00:15:21.120 They're the ones who are going to behave appropriately.

00:15:23.700 And it's going to be the lawless legislators.

00:15:26.380 It doesn't matter if they were elected to office and they can write laws.

00:15:29.880 They can behave lawlessly, often more lawlessly than the rest of us.

00:15:34.260 They're the ones who are going to try to gin up a bunch of division and tension.

00:15:39.480 So what was the rally about?

00:15:42.020 Just very quickly, we'll get through what these guys were protesting,

00:15:45.900 because the gun laws being proposed in Virginia are absolutely, absolutely terrible and unconstitutional.

00:15:52.400 We'll get to that in a second.

00:15:53.180 First, I've got to thank our friends over at Rock Auto.

00:15:57.060 RockAuto.com is a family business serving auto parts customers online for 20 years.

00:16:02.400 Go to RockAuto.com right now to shop for auto and body parts from hundreds of manufacturers.

00:16:07.500 The thing I love about Rock Auto, they've got everything.

00:16:10.180 Engine control modules, brake parts, tail lamps, motor oil.

00:16:13.960 For me, I don't know that much about cars.

00:16:15.600 My car breaks down.

00:16:16.540 I don't know anything about it.

00:16:18.200 And then you go to a brick and mortar auto parts store and they don't have the part.

00:16:23.280 They never have the part.

00:16:24.160 There are too many parts.

00:16:25.140 So what those guys do is they go online and maybe they go to Rock Auto and then they order

00:16:29.860 the part and then they charge you a huge markup.

00:16:31.660 You don't need to do that.

00:16:32.880 Even for me, I am not exactly an expert when it comes to shopping for my car.

00:16:36.920 I can navigate Rock Auto's website so easily.

00:16:41.180 You can figure out exactly what kind of part you need for your car.

00:16:44.560 It's just tremendous.

00:16:45.760 The RockAuto.com catalog is unique.

00:16:47.900 It's easy to navigate.

00:16:49.060 Right now, head on over to RockAuto.com.

00:16:53.700 And when you get to the how do you hear about us box, make sure to fill in Knolls.

00:16:58.480 You can see all the parts available for your car and truck.

00:17:01.940 RockAuto.com.

00:17:02.900 And most importantly, most important of all, pay close attention, write Knolls, K-N-O-W-L-E-S 0.72

00:17:08.080 in the how did you hear about us box.

00:17:09.280 And then we'll get credit for sending you over there.

00:17:10.800 You're going to love it.

00:17:11.340 It's a wonderful family owned business and they will really help you out with your car

00:17:14.940 or truck.

00:17:15.820 Okay.

00:17:17.000 The gun laws in Virginia are horrible.

00:17:20.600 Don't let anybody tell you otherwise.

00:17:22.960 Three bills passed the state Senate on Thursday.

00:17:26.320 One bill is to limit the number of guns you can purchase.

00:17:29.780 So you can only buy one handgun per month.

00:17:33.580 Now you might say, who needs more than one handgun per month?

00:17:36.240 I don't know.

00:17:36.560 I can think of situations where you would need to buy more than one handgun within a month.

00:17:40.160 But the question is, why are we limiting people's basic civil rights?

00:17:45.040 Maybe there's an argument to be made.

00:17:46.660 Okay.

00:17:46.820 Maybe I haven't heard it yet, but maybe there is an argument to be made.

00:17:50.700 However, and this is the theme here.

00:17:53.260 If you were going to take away somebody's basic, fundamental, constitutionally protected

00:17:59.540 civil rights, there needs to be a really, really high threshold in that argument.

00:18:04.960 And they have not made one in Virginia.

00:18:07.260 They want universal background checks on gun sales.

00:18:09.360 This is really a way to prevent people from passing guns along to their kids.

00:18:12.860 So who would object to universal background checks?

00:18:15.900 Nobody.

00:18:16.480 The devil's in the details, though.

00:18:17.720 The question is, am I not going to be able to pass along my antique Civil War rifle to my

00:18:21.920 kids or something after I got it from my father and from his father and on and on?

00:18:26.560 No.

00:18:27.620 Then there is a new rule allowing localities to ban guns in some public areas.

00:18:35.000 Again, you can have that argument, but the right to keep and bear arms is an individual

00:18:40.600 right guaranteed by the Constitution.

00:18:42.960 So if you're going to deprive people of their fundamental civil rights, you better have a

00:18:46.440 pretty good argument for it.

00:18:47.740 And those, those that just passed the State House, those are the most defensible of all

00:18:54.060 of them.

00:18:54.420 The rest of these regulations are draconian and outright unconstitutional.

00:18:59.980 So I want to say red flag law. 0.95

00:19:01.980 This would allow authorities to temporarily take guns away from anyone deemed by law enforcement

00:19:09.080 to be a danger to themselves or to others.

00:19:11.760 Now, I don't have a problem with depriving certain people of rights that they would otherwise

00:19:19.860 be entitled to if they pose a direct threat to themselves or to others.

00:19:24.860 However, I am very strongly opposed to taking away a person's basic civil rights in one case,

00:19:32.880 but not into others.

00:19:33.820 I think the threshold needs to be very, very high.

00:19:35.860 So for instance, if you really believe that somebody is an imminent threat to themselves

00:19:41.220 or to others, they got a couple of screws loose, they are a danger to society, okay, that's fine.

00:19:51.060 Then you ought to be able to have that person committed to an institution.

00:19:54.880 Then you ought to be able to deprive that person of their voting rights.

00:19:57.580 Then you ought to be able to deprive that person of their, of certain legal rights to

00:20:01.380 control their own affairs.

00:20:02.320 You ought to be able to apply the same standard you're applying to the second amendment to

00:20:08.720 all of the other civil rights.

00:20:10.060 Because I think very often what's going to happen here is law enforcement is going to

00:20:14.220 say, yeah, you're a threat to yourself or others.

00:20:16.860 So we're going to take away your second amendment rights.

00:20:18.600 I mean, you're fine.

00:20:19.440 You can still vote.

00:20:20.180 You can still live on your own.

00:20:21.480 You can still drive a car.

00:20:22.740 You can still do whatever you want, but just the gun, the gun is going to be the real

00:20:25.840 issue.

00:20:26.600 Well, no, of course not.

00:20:27.480 If a person is, is too, too much of a threat to have their basic gun rights included in

00:20:36.160 the constitution, then certainly they shouldn't be able to drive.

00:20:39.720 Driving is a privilege.

00:20:41.300 You apply to get a driver's license from your state and you don't have any right to a driver's

00:20:45.780 license.

00:20:46.500 You do have a right to keep and bear arms.

00:20:49.180 So again, I'm, I'm fully admitting that certain people are not in full enough possession of

00:20:56.180 their faculties to access all of their, their rights.

00:20:59.500 This would include children.

00:21:00.920 This would include people who are deranged.

00:21:03.520 This would include people who are highly criminal.

00:21:05.720 This would include right there.

00:21:06.560 Of course the people have their rights deprived all the time through their own actions or their

00:21:10.960 inability to control themselves.

00:21:13.400 However, the threshold has to be very, very high.

00:21:17.260 Another one is a new rules about reporting lost or stolen firearms.

00:21:21.340 Again, this is a way just to take people's guns away, increased penalties for recklessly

00:21:25.680 leaving loaded, unsecured firearms near children.

00:21:29.020 Yeah, you shouldn't be able to leave loaded, unsecured firearms near children.

00:21:31.880 Certainly not.

00:21:33.100 Could that law be abused?

00:21:34.340 Yeah, probably a ban on anyone subject to a final protective order from possessing firearms.

00:21:39.960 And then, and then the piece de resistance, the one that the left is always going for a ban on

00:21:46.560 assault rifles.

00:21:49.120 Now, assault rifles have more or less been banned in this country for decades.

00:21:53.400 When people say assault rifles, they're referring to guns like the AR-15, the most popular gun in

00:21:59.060 America, which are not assault rifles in the sense that they're not fully automatic.

00:22:03.240 And that's the image that comes to mind when people talk about it.

00:22:06.340 But in another sense, all firearms are assault weapons.

00:22:12.200 They're all assault weapons.

00:22:13.260 The point of a firearm is to assault somebody.

00:22:16.880 They're not comforting.

00:22:19.180 I mean, they're not there to make you feel really pleasant.

00:22:22.320 They're not there to massage your temples when you've got a headache. 0.97

00:22:25.400 They're there to shoot people. 0.98

00:22:26.540 So, yeah, they commit assaults.

00:22:29.780 Now, obviously, you want people who are responsible, who follow the law, who are good,

00:22:34.780 mature people to possess firearms.

00:22:37.200 That's the premise of the Second Amendment.

00:22:39.280 But to say, OK, you can have all the pleasant firearms that don't hurt anybody, but not the

00:22:43.020 assault ones is completely disingenuous.

00:22:44.960 The reason they use that euphemism is simply to confuse people.

00:22:48.280 And the reason they go after the AR-15 is it's pretty much the most popular gun in America.

00:22:53.820 They chose to do this on Martin Luther King Day.

00:22:57.260 AOC was very upset that they chose Martin Luther King Day.

00:23:00.080 And we'll get to how wrong she is in a second. 0.99

00:23:02.240 We'll get to the dumbest conversation I've ever listened to. 0.97

00:23:05.200 The mainstream media shrieked that the reason they chose Martin Luther King Day 0.99

00:23:08.620 was because the people protesting were racist bigots. 1.00

00:23:12.660 They hate black people. 1.00

00:23:15.340 Now, actually, the reason they chose it is because there's this longstanding tradition 0.99

00:23:18.200 called Lobby Day in Virginia.

00:23:20.380 But the coincidence of Martin Luther King Day is actually an important one.

00:23:25.700 You know, Martin Luther King was a civil rights activist.

00:23:31.380 He's probably the most famous civil rights activist in modern American history.

00:23:36.660 Guns are a civil right.

00:23:38.220 The right to keep and bear arms.

00:23:39.860 That is a basic civil right protected by our Constitution.

00:23:42.920 Listen to how shocked AOC is.

00:23:45.020 Listen to how shocked the leftist journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates are by the fact that this took place on Martin Luther King Day.

00:23:50.640 You know, another thing that I've been really thinking and sitting with today is that we there's this gun rights protest that's happening down in Richmond.

00:23:59.460 On MLK Day.

00:24:01.620 On MLK Day. 0.87

00:24:03.220 Yeah, damn right it's on MLK Day. 0.62

00:24:05.600 Why do we celebrate MLK Day? 0.91

00:24:07.400 We celebrate MLK Day because of his work on civil rights.

00:24:10.720 And so if you're going to have a civil rights protest in America, I guess it makes a whole lot of sense to do that.

00:24:15.940 We will get to this extraordinarily dumb speaking event between AOC and Ta-Nehisi Coates.

00:24:21.420 And then we will get to impeachment because that's beginning, obviously, today.

00:24:25.240 The impeachment trial in the Senate is starting today.

00:24:27.520 Then some great news for the pro-life cause ahead of the March for Life.

00:24:31.460 First, though, I've got to talk to you about the problem with your growing business.

00:24:35.300 All right.

00:24:35.740 The problem with growing businesses very often, and I've seen this firsthand because I've been involved in a lot of startup businesses, the Daily Wire included, is very often they'll have a hodgepodge of business systems, right?

00:24:47.780 So they'll start and they'll say, okay, I know how to use this system for accounting.

00:24:50.880 I am familiar with this system for HR.

00:24:52.760 I know about this system for sales.

00:24:54.820 So we're going to have all these different systems running, but they don't know how to talk to each other.

00:24:58.160 And so you can't know your numbers.

00:24:59.700 And let me tell you, I have seen this happen too many times for comfort.

00:25:04.840 When people don't know their numbers, their businesses can run away from them.

00:25:07.860 Sometimes you're going to lose your business, okay?

00:25:10.040 At the very least, it's going to take up too much time, too many resources.

00:25:12.760 That's going to hurt your bottom line.

00:25:14.700 It's very important to know your numbers.

00:25:16.660 That is where NetSuite comes in.

00:25:18.400 NetSuite by Oracle is the business management software that handles every aspect of your business in an easy-to-use cloud platform.

00:25:26.660 It gives you the visibility and control that you need to grow.

00:26:07.100 Okay.

00:26:07.980 We've got to say goodbye to Facebook and YouTube.

00:26:10.940 So don't go anywhere because we've got a lot more to get to. 0.98

00:26:14.240 The dumbest conversation I've ever heard from AOC. 0.93

00:26:17.280 Then this whole impeachment farce. 0.99

00:26:19.840 Then some great news for the pro-life cause and a whole lot more than that.

00:26:25.080 And by the way, today we're going to be launching a second show that I'll be having over at PragerU

00:26:30.280 called The Book Club.

00:26:31.060 The first episode is out now.

00:26:32.500 So go check that out at PragerU.

00:26:35.000 March for Life is coming up.

00:26:36.860 I'm in Washington, D.C. right now.

00:26:38.360 That's why I'm not in my normal studio.

00:26:40.360 The pro-life cause, very, very important.

00:26:42.760 And while pro-abortion activists are out there shouting their abortions and they're going 0.55

00:26:48.160 on TV and referring to pre-born babies as parasites, pro-lifers are fighting back.

00:26:53.940 All of us at The Daily Wire have spoken out in defense of life.

00:26:57.080 Last year at the March for Life here in Washington, D.C., Ben Shapiro addressed a crowd of 100,000

00:27:04.120 people.

00:27:05.620 Our advertisers were targeted then as a result of all of those actions by left-wing political

00:27:11.720 operatives.

00:27:13.120 Several advertisers pulled their ads from our shows.

00:27:16.300 This is a constant battle to protect the pro-life message from the forces of abortion.

00:27:22.400 Another group that does this, Live Action.

00:27:24.080 Live Action has experienced the same thing.

00:27:26.020 They're one of the most important voices in the pro-life movement.

00:27:28.800 They have helped to expose Planned Parenthood and other abortion clinics for the horrific

00:27:33.080 crimes that they commit on a daily basis.

00:27:35.800 Pro-abortion activists have targeted Live Action.

00:27:37.860 They've censored them on social media platforms.

00:27:39.720 And in some cases, they've succeeded in kicking them off altogether.

00:27:43.720 That is why our Daily Wire dot com members are so important.

00:27:48.820 Your membership helps us say no to advertisers who cave to left-wing ideologies.

00:27:53.120 You keep our pro-life message from being canceled.

00:27:56.860 And from now until January 31st, a portion of any Daily Wire dot com membership will be

00:28:01.580 donated to Live Action with promo code LIVEACTION.

00:28:05.480 Easy enough to remember.

00:28:06.660 Join Daily Wire dot com.

00:28:08.360 Right now, make your pro-life voice heard.

00:28:11.620 Daily Wire dot com.

00:28:12.360 We'll be right back with a lot more. 0.99

00:28:25.800 So I just listened to the dumbest conversation I ever heard. 0.96

00:28:29.000 It was between AOC and the leftist journalist, Ta-Nehisi Coates. 0.99

00:28:32.960 The reason I bring this to you is not because I want to just slowly kill each and every one 0.98

00:28:38.200 of your brain cells. 0.99

00:28:39.180 It's because the conversation shows us something.

00:28:42.480 One thing I love about AOC is she shows you what the left really is taken to its logical

00:28:47.720 conclusion.

00:28:48.820 It shows you the hypocrisy and it shows you just the utter emptiness of leftist ideology.

00:28:53.940 So AOC begins with the grand claim that people shouldn't have a lot of money.

00:29:00.740 They shouldn't have a billion dollars.

00:29:02.080 And really, you can never make a billion dollars because the only way that someone gets a billion

00:29:08.240 dollars is by taking it from someone else.

00:29:11.180 Why specifically does, you know, I'm Joe Billionaire.

00:29:16.960 I made widgets.

00:29:17.740 I sold those widgets.

00:29:18.700 I made billions of dollars, you know, selling those widgets, making those widgets.

00:29:23.120 Therefore, those billions of dollars are mine.

00:29:25.100 Why am I the enemy of health care?

00:29:26.420 Well, you didn't make those widgets, did you?

00:29:29.280 Because you employ thousands of people and pay them less than a living wage to make those

00:29:33.500 widgets for you.

00:29:34.420 That's one of those statements, like so many leftist statements, that if you're not thinking

00:29:40.900 at all, sounds like it means something, but it actually has no semantic content.

00:29:45.000 It has no meaning in the statement.

00:29:47.200 She said, you never make a billion dollars.

00:29:49.540 You take a billion dollars because you hire people to do a job.

00:29:55.720 But when you hire people to do a job, you're not taking from them.

00:30:01.200 You're not stealing from them.

00:30:02.920 It's actually the opposite.

00:30:04.140 You're giving them your money because you think that their skill, their service, their

00:30:11.140 labor is more valuable than the money that you are giving them.

00:30:15.740 And they think, because they're engaging in this free exchange, they think that your money

00:30:20.420 is more valuable than the labor that they are giving you.

00:30:23.500 And so they exchange their labor for your money and everybody wins.

00:30:28.140 How do I know that both sides feel this way?

00:30:30.360 Because both sides engage in the transaction.

00:30:33.740 Here's another example.

00:30:34.700 I mean, because taken to the logical extreme, which he's saying is that if you ever hire anybody

00:30:40.180 to do a job, then you aren't doing anything.

00:30:43.400 You're not producing anything.

00:30:45.160 Let's say I write a book with words this time.

00:30:48.180 Okay, I don't write a blank book.

00:30:49.300 I write a real book.

00:30:50.820 And let's say I would do a blank book even.

00:30:52.800 Okay, it could be a blank book.

00:30:54.060 I come up with the idea.

00:30:55.380 Maybe I write a little bit.

00:30:56.660 I come up with the design.

00:30:59.440 And then I send that out.

00:31:01.240 And I hire a publisher to print it.

00:31:03.800 The publisher hires some tree company to cut down the trees, make the paper.

00:31:08.080 The publisher hires some delivery people to go deliver it to bookstores.

00:31:12.540 Then obviously the bookstores have the money.

00:31:14.540 They have employees.

00:31:15.300 The bookstores sell the books to somebody else who needed a car to drive there.

00:31:21.320 And you can see the effects of this throughout the economy.

00:31:25.180 My doing, even a blank book, will involve so many people to make that book happen.

00:31:32.760 And if I write a book with words, then you're going to have to hire people to make the ink.

00:31:37.160 Then you're going to have to, I mean, that's going to be a whole other avenue of people who have helped to make that happen.

00:31:43.080 Does that mean I didn't write a book?

00:31:44.800 Does that mean I didn't produce anything?

00:31:46.220 No, it means that I've worked together with other people in an economy, in a society, to produce a product.

00:31:54.560 The employee who's hired at the widget company, as Ta-Nehisi Coates says, did that employee make the, I don't know, call it 50 grand a year?

00:32:04.480 Did they make 50 grand a year?

00:32:06.780 Surely they needed other people to make that money.

00:32:09.160 They didn't come up with the idea for the widget.

00:32:10.860 They didn't build the structures of the business.

00:32:13.120 They didn't, presumably there will be people down the line of them who they rely on to make that job happen.

00:32:20.780 Does anybody make anything?

00:32:22.120 No, this is the logical conclusion of Barack Obama saying when he was president that you didn't build that.

00:32:28.080 You didn't build your own business, which was the, basically the economic motto of his presidency.

00:32:34.400 Then AOC turns it up a little bit more.

00:32:36.340 So she denies that anybody can engage in an economy voluntarily.

00:32:39.720 Then she says that people are literally dying because of commerce.

00:32:45.380 You made that money off the backs of undocumented people. 0.99

00:32:49.160 You made that money off of the backs of black and brown people being paid off a living wage, under a living wage. 1.00

00:32:55.940 You made that money off of the backs of single mothers. 1.00

00:32:59.080 And all of these people who are literally dying because they can't afford to live.

00:33:05.680 If they're literally dying because they can't afford to live, then presumably you're doing them a favor.

00:33:14.880 You're saving them by giving them a job, right?

00:33:17.960 You're giving them money.

00:33:19.380 So you're saving them.

00:33:20.600 Now, what does AOC know about my business?

00:33:22.960 Does she know that I'm not paying people a living wage?

00:33:25.900 Does she know that I'm targeting black and brown people and single mothers? 0.96

00:33:30.680 No, of course not.

00:33:31.460 She's just saying words.

00:33:35.040 She's just making total grand assumptions about other people's businesses. 0.95

00:33:40.660 And she's beginning with the premise that people are entitled to other people's stuff.

00:33:46.940 People are entitled to other people's money.

00:33:48.920 Do you know what the real minimum wage is?

00:33:50.200 She's complaining about a living wage. 1.00

00:33:51.600 The real minimum wage is zero dollars.

00:33:54.340 Because I don't owe you a job.

00:33:56.700 And AOC doesn't really think that we owe each other jobs.

00:34:03.360 You know why?

00:34:03.840 Because AOC then would have started a business, right?

00:34:06.580 AOC would be just as on the hook as everybody else is.

00:34:10.920 Has AOC ever created a single job in her life? 0.99

00:34:13.460 Of course not.

00:34:15.040 How much does she give to charity? 1.00

00:34:16.680 I don't know.

00:34:17.540 If I were a gambling man, I'd guess probably less than Jeff Bezos does.

00:34:22.180 What has she done?

00:34:23.360 I mean, the left is so good at this.

00:34:25.080 The left does this all the time.

00:34:26.020 They're really good at criticizing everybody else, pointing out the flaws and the shortcomings

00:34:31.100 of everybody else, or pointing out how other people could do even more, which is always

00:34:35.500 true.

00:34:35.780 You could always do more.

00:34:37.360 But they're never able to turn that lens around on themselves, analyze themselves under

00:34:41.920 the microscope, hold themselves to the same standards to which they're holding other

00:34:46.040 people.

00:34:47.820 You know, they criticize a guy like Jeff Bezos, super duper wealthy guy, because he's only

00:34:53.060 giving a million dollars at a clip to charity.

00:34:54.840 When was the last time you gave a million dollars to charity?

00:34:58.120 When was the last time AOC did anything for anyone?

00:35:01.000 Then she comes to the conclusion of her argument.

00:35:05.260 No one ever makes a billion dollars.

00:35:08.460 Hmm.

00:35:09.460 You take a billion dollars.

00:35:11.200 Wow, snaps, snaps all around.

00:35:17.580 This is like if I were in a freshman slam poetry meet, man, I would really feel the feels right

00:35:22.980 now.

00:35:23.700 AOC gets to her conclusion. 0.98

00:35:25.780 It's just as silly as her premise. 0.96

00:35:27.320 But there is a little bit of honesty, right? 0.97

00:35:29.780 When she gets to the end, she's talking about taking.

00:35:32.640 She's talking about an assertion of the will.

00:35:35.980 Then she gets to the heart of her philosophy, which is not based on principles.

00:35:41.980 It's not based on any kind of coherent argument.

00:35:45.100 It's about power.

00:35:47.260 And she puts it in exactly those terms.

00:35:48.960 To be ethical, if you're a billionaire today, the thing that you need to do is give up control

00:35:55.160 and power.

00:35:56.620 So I don't want your money as much as we want your power.

00:36:01.140 The people, not me.

00:36:04.660 That's going to get cut and clip.

00:36:06.120 Okay, obviously, she's a very confused young lady who hasn't thought very much about important

00:36:12.940 questions.

00:36:14.200 But there were many contradictions in what she just said.

00:36:17.540 And yet, she accidentally gave up her whole point.

00:36:20.840 She said, to be ethical, you need to give up control and power.

00:36:25.440 And then in the very same breath, she said, we want your power.

00:36:30.600 So what she is admitting here is that her own system is unethical.

00:36:36.080 If to be ethical, you need to give up power, and she wants power, then she is unethical. 1.00

00:36:43.080 But her system of politics isn't based on ethics at all. 1.00

00:36:46.620 It's not based on reasoned argument at all.

00:36:48.760 It's just about taking power.

00:36:51.740 It's just about self-interest.

00:36:56.220 Her system presumes that the only way that I can have more is if you have less.

00:37:02.160 And that extends to the nature of politics.

00:37:04.680 Then she says, we want, but I don't, I'm not saying we want the power.

00:37:08.820 I'm saying the people want the power, but not me, even though I'm, I guess I'm a person.

00:37:13.700 Is she saying she's not a person?

00:37:14.880 Of course, she's one of the people.

00:37:16.500 But more specifically, she's the one who wants the power.

00:37:19.160 She's not giving the power to some guy who's working a low-wage job in the middle of Queens.

00:37:23.920 She's taking it for herself through her instrument of power, which is the state.

00:37:28.760 There are many more problems with what she's saying because she is not a systematic thinker,

00:37:35.280 let's put it that way.

00:37:36.440 But it suffices to leave it there.

00:37:39.460 This is all about power.

00:37:41.420 And frankly, that's what the broader news story of this week and probably next week is as well,

00:37:46.720 which is President Trump's impeachment trial. 0.95

00:37:49.280 Nearly as dumb as AOC's conversation with Ta-Nehisi Coates is the impeachment trial of President Trump, 0.96

00:37:55.800 which is kicking off today. 0.99

00:37:58.120 He has been impeached, the president.

00:38:00.000 Now it is going to trial.

00:38:04.420 There are all sorts of numbers going around out there over whether people want the president

00:38:08.840 to be removed or not.

00:38:10.280 I strongly suspect that they do not want him to be removed.

00:38:13.200 So the Republicans control the Senate.

00:38:15.340 There is no indication at all that any Senate Republicans are going to turn on Trump.

00:38:19.060 So he is going to be acquitted.

00:38:20.540 He will not be removed from office.

00:38:23.240 This is the cost of a partisan impeachment.

00:38:26.500 Okay, this impeachment, unlike the others in American history,

00:38:30.000 was not a bipartisan impeachment.

00:38:32.880 There were no Republicans who voted to impeach the president in the House.

00:38:36.500 There were Democrats who refused to impeach the president.

00:38:39.040 So it was bipartisan in terms of letting him stay in office,

00:38:43.080 but it was strictly partisan in terms of the vote to remove him.

00:38:47.160 So when you have a strictly partisan impeachment, guess what happens?

00:38:50.200 You're going to have a strictly partisan trial,

00:38:51.760 especially when they don't have any legal basis for impeaching him.

00:38:56.280 So the question that remains for this trial is whether or not they're going to call witnesses.

00:39:01.960 Now, they already had witnesses, right?

00:39:03.500 You might say, why would they call more witnesses?

00:39:05.380 We just had an investigation.

00:39:07.120 We just had testimony.

00:39:07.920 We had the vote to impeach, so let's move on and do that.

00:39:11.880 Okay, that is what the American people seem to want to do, too.

00:39:15.960 Most polls show that the American people want to keep the president in office.

00:39:20.280 Until a very convenient poll from CNN, which just came out right before the impeachment trial,

00:39:26.480 showed that 51% of Americans want Trump removed from office,

00:39:29.460 showed that 69% of Americans want witnesses called at the trial,

00:39:32.820 including nearly half of Republicans.

00:39:36.260 Numbers are obviously way off from every other poll on the subject.

00:39:39.020 But let's take them at face value.

00:39:41.400 Okay, let's give CNN the benefit of the doubt for no reason whatsoever.

00:39:44.680 What do these numbers mean?

00:39:46.760 I think what they mean is not what the mainstream media thinks they mean.

00:39:52.240 The mainstream media thinks it means that the American people have finally turned on Trump

00:39:54.960 and we're going to kick him out, and now this way Hillary is going to be president again somehow 1.00

00:39:58.900 and we're going to live in a leftist utopia.

00:40:02.220 Something to that effect.

00:40:03.440 What the mainstream media think is this is evidence of a public opinion change

00:40:06.700 and now people want Trump out.

00:40:09.240 I think what it means is that nobody is paying attention anymore.

00:40:14.340 I think nobody is paying attention at all.

00:40:16.240 They're not thinking through the consequences.

00:40:17.800 It doesn't matter.

00:40:18.480 I don't think anybody cares.

00:40:19.960 So you get a question in a poll like,

00:40:22.240 hey, should there be witnesses at the impeachment trial?

00:40:25.300 And I suspect people think, yeah, I guess there are witnesses at a trial.

00:40:29.280 I mean, what is this about?

00:40:30.480 Yeah, okay, do that.

00:40:31.520 But when you get down to brass tacks,

00:40:35.140 do we really believe that the president ought to be removed,

00:40:38.160 that he's committed some impeachable offense?

00:40:39.860 I just don't see it.

00:40:41.520 So what are the arguments for and against?

00:40:43.300 Democrats are desperate for anything, even remotely impeachable.

00:40:49.080 That's why they want to call more witnesses. 0.99

00:40:50.560 They didn't get it the first time.

00:40:51.840 They didn't get it when it was in the House.

00:40:53.080 So they're just saying, please, if we have a hundred more witnesses,

00:40:55.620 maybe one of them will give us something that's impeachable.

00:40:58.060 Okay.

00:40:58.580 Why would Republicans want witnesses?

00:41:00.900 Well, Republicans want the process to seem fair

00:41:03.040 and it just seems like witnesses should be present at trials, doesn't it?

00:41:07.300 Okay.

00:41:07.720 What does Pelosi want?

00:41:08.740 Pelosi wants to seem like she's giving her base their money's worth 0.78

00:41:11.860 before they inevitably acquit the president.

00:41:14.720 What about Republicans?

00:41:15.940 Maybe they want witnesses because they want to drag out this impeachment trial

00:41:18.820 because impeachment's been very good for Trump's approval numbers.

00:41:22.200 All right.

00:41:22.360 From the beginning of impeachment till now,

00:41:24.240 Trump's numbers have gone up.

00:41:25.320 The Democrats have gone down.

00:41:27.080 Plus you could get Hunter Biden up there on the stand

00:41:29.380 and that would be absolutely freaking hilarious 0.98

00:41:31.700 because that guy's a total degenerate 0.98

00:41:33.460 and he will expose more corruption from his father.

00:41:35.780 However, however, what's the argument against witnesses?

00:41:40.280 This is politics.

00:41:41.420 Okay.

00:41:41.560 It's still politics.

00:41:42.520 Anything can happen in politics.

00:41:44.160 And I think what the White House is looking at now is they say,

00:41:47.080 it's like a game of poker.

00:41:48.680 They're up.

00:41:49.640 They're way up.

00:41:50.660 All right.

00:41:50.820 This impeachment thing could not have worked out better for them than it has.

00:41:53.820 And I think what the White House and maybe Mitch McConnell are thinking is

00:41:56.760 you got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them,

00:41:59.920 know when to walk away, know when to run.

00:42:02.260 All right.

00:42:02.540 And they maybe want to just cash out their money and say,

00:42:04.580 this has been a big win.

00:42:05.520 Let's take it and head into 2020.

00:42:08.000 Moving on is the key here.

00:42:11.220 Because, you know, in the 90s, during the Clinton impeachment,

00:42:13.900 there was an organization founded called MoveOn.org.

00:42:16.280 It's one of the most prominent left-wing organizations.

00:42:18.820 And what people don't remember is that MoveOn referred to the Clinton impeachment.

00:42:22.980 They said, it's time to move on.

00:42:24.500 Nobody cares anymore.

00:42:25.660 Let's go.

00:42:26.220 Let's keep this going for the American people.

00:42:30.680 Now everybody's changing their mind, right?

00:42:32.480 Democrats who were against Clinton's impeachment are now for Trump's impeachment

00:42:36.660 and vice versa for Republicans.

00:42:39.040 This is the problem with a long career in politics. 0.99

00:42:41.060 Eventually, you're going to look like a hypocrite. 0.99

00:42:43.100 You don't need to, but very often you will. 0.99

00:42:45.940 How can you avoid that?

00:42:47.240 How can you avoid the trouble that Democrats and Republicans are now in?

00:42:50.980 Avoid sweeping abstractions and generalizations about politics.

00:42:55.020 Admit that politics is politics.

00:42:56.800 There is interest here, okay?

00:42:58.160 It's just different when it's your guy or the other guy, and we can all be honest about that,

00:43:01.740 and at least then we're not being insincere, and have a little bit of a sense of humor about it.

00:43:06.440 The Media Research Center, again, you know, the guys who do newsbusters,

00:43:09.480 they dug up the mainstream media reaction to the suggestion of calling more witnesses

00:43:13.800 during Bill Clinton's impeachment trial,

00:43:16.220 and you're going to be shocked to find out that it was a little different than their reaction in the Trump impeachment.

00:43:22.340 The whole issue has been a sham.

00:43:24.480 It shouldn't have gotten this far.

00:43:26.060 The House acted improperly in passing it on to the Senate.

00:43:29.360 Why is your party dragging this thing out?

00:43:31.700 Why is this happening?

00:43:32.860 Why go through all this business about witnesses?

00:43:35.540 Do we really need more witnesses?

00:43:37.360 It's going to add months to this thing.

00:43:39.080 We should stop this.

00:43:40.580 This bogus, inflated case.

00:43:42.480 And get on with business of governance.

00:43:44.280 Will these people just get down to business and leave this impeachment thing alone?

00:43:47.980 It's going to be an enormous distraction to the White House

00:43:51.240 and all kinds of issues that the Congress ought to be considering.

00:43:53.540 There's a long line of the people's business that seems to have been put aside

00:43:58.280 and apparently is going to be put aside for weeks, if not months now.

00:44:02.160 We begin tonight with the voice of the people.

00:44:04.600 The visitor who got up and shouted,

00:44:06.320 God Almighty, take the vote and get it over with.

00:44:09.120 It goes on and on and on and on and on and on,

00:44:12.420 and you could listen to it for another five years probably,

00:44:15.180 and now they're all singing the opposite tune.

00:44:18.440 So now it's Republicans who want to move on.

00:44:20.120 It's Democrats who want to stall.

00:44:22.260 I think in the interest of both parties, frankly,

00:44:26.160 probably they should move on.

00:44:27.940 I think it's hurting Democrats' numbers the longer this drags out,

00:44:30.720 and I think it's distracting Republicans

00:44:32.540 and making us a little too complacent about 2020 the longer we drag this out.

00:44:36.020 And obviously, President Trump wants to accomplish more of his agenda.

00:44:39.220 So we've all made up our minds.

00:44:40.900 It's just mindless screaming,

00:44:42.080 and a partisan impeachment doesn't matter anyway.

00:44:44.940 Before we go, I've got to talk about some great news for the pro-life cause.

00:44:48.860 Really, really great news ahead of the March for Life.

00:44:51.700 It's great news in a scary news story.

00:44:55.120 Scientists who have been researching the question of fetal pain,

00:44:59.780 like the pain that pre-born babies feel,

00:45:02.940 have concluded that it is no longer likely

00:45:06.540 that babies can't feel pain before 24 weeks.

00:45:09.580 That was the former consensus view.

00:45:11.060 Now they're saying that babies could feel pain

00:45:14.560 possibly as early as 13 weeks,

00:45:18.920 which is, you know, at that point,

00:45:20.680 that's where a lot of abortions are happening. 1.00

00:45:22.860 You're almost cutting the amount of time in half now.

00:45:26.440 These are not activists.

00:45:29.040 These are not pro-life activists.

00:45:30.360 These are just British scientists.

00:45:31.960 One of them is actually an abortion-supportive

00:45:34.360 British pain expert, pro-choice,

00:45:36.860 who used to think there was no chances

00:45:38.660 that pre-born babies could feel pain that early

00:45:41.000 and now says that that assumption is likely incorrect.

00:45:45.120 And they've just written in the very influential

00:45:48.040 Journal of Medical Ethics

00:45:49.560 that this new evidence is so compelling

00:45:53.180 that to carry on with abortions up until 24 weeks,

00:45:57.200 despite that new evidence,

00:45:58.640 quote,

00:45:59.040 flirts with moral recklessness

00:46:01.620 because of the pain question.

00:46:05.600 Now, it really shouldn't matter

00:46:08.140 whether pre-born babies can feel pain or not.

00:46:11.960 Is the ability to feel pain now

00:46:14.840 the arbiter of the value of life?

00:46:17.780 Do you have dignity in your life

00:46:19.620 because you can feel pain?

00:46:21.400 Well, what if you take an anesthetic?

00:46:23.900 What if you take a couple painkillers? 1.00

00:46:28.520 Then is it moral for me to kill you? 1.00

00:46:29.900 No, of course not. 1.00

00:46:32.680 Feeling pain is just an evidence, okay?

00:46:35.400 It's an evidence of the baby's humanity,

00:46:38.220 which we already know because it's a baby.

00:46:41.040 Whether or not someone can feel pain

00:46:42.580 should have no bearing whatsoever

00:46:43.920 on whether or not you're allowed to kill that person.

00:46:47.920 We make the argument for life logically.

00:46:51.680 We make very strong philosophical arguments

00:46:54.800 to not kill babies.

00:46:56.320 It's unbelievable that we have to make these arguments.

00:46:58.320 It should be so obvious.

00:46:59.920 It should be self-evident.

00:47:02.160 All of the arguments are on the side of life.

00:47:05.180 There is no coherent philosophical argument 0.66

00:47:08.960 for killing babies.

00:47:11.600 Now to the tune of a million a year in this country.

00:47:14.040 There is no argument.

00:47:15.380 The logic, the reason, the facts,

00:47:18.300 totally on the side of life.

00:47:21.220 And yet the arguments are not enough.

00:47:25.040 One must paint a picture.

00:47:27.680 That's the point of the March for Life.

00:47:29.280 The March for Life is not a philosophical debate.

00:47:33.300 It's not a dry academic paper

00:47:35.740 and then there's a symposium

00:47:36.760 and we all read each other's papers.

00:47:38.380 It's a demonstration to show

00:47:40.340 the support for the cause of life

00:47:42.960 because you need to show it.

00:47:44.340 The reason that it matters

00:47:45.380 that 13-week-old pre-born babies can feel pain

00:47:47.940 is because we have the image then in our minds

00:47:50.300 of this cute little baby feeling pain

00:47:52.380 while it's being ripped apart 0.93

00:47:53.440 by these psychos in the abortion industry. 0.89

00:47:56.200 That's the problem.

00:47:56.840 I mean, that's what it does to us.

00:47:58.800 It evokes so much more out of us

00:48:00.600 than just the arguments.

00:48:02.200 Going all the way back to the first story today,

00:48:04.620 we can have constitutional arguments

00:48:07.060 over the individual right

00:48:07.940 to keep and bear arms all day long.

00:48:09.920 But part of the reason

00:48:10.740 why we need to go demonstrate

00:48:11.780 is to show people what it means.

00:48:14.960 We need to shoot down that leftist narrative,

00:48:17.280 the leftist narrative

00:48:17.960 that people who want to keep their civil rights 0.98

00:48:19.860 are maniacs and bigots 1.00

00:48:21.180 and nuts and violent and chaotic. 1.00

00:48:24.200 And really, what do they do?

00:48:25.040 They show up, they're orderly.

00:48:26.200 They've got every single race, 0.79

00:48:27.720 every color and shade of people there.

00:48:29.640 And they behave very well.

00:48:31.220 There's no violence

00:48:31.800 and they clean up after themselves

00:48:32.940 when they leave.

00:48:34.180 It's the same thing.

00:48:35.340 In politics,

00:48:36.560 it is not merely enough to make the argument.

00:48:38.500 You certainly have to make the argument.

00:48:39.720 That's the prerequisite.

00:48:41.220 And you need to live it out.

00:48:42.480 All value in this life is enfleshed.

00:48:44.780 We've got to put it into our bodies.

00:48:46.180 We have to put it into action.

00:48:47.820 And that's what we saw this week in Virginia.

00:48:49.960 That's what we're going to see

00:48:50.660 this coming week for life

00:48:52.000 here in Washington, D.C.

00:48:53.720 And it's going to be a beautiful thing.

00:48:54.800 That's our show.

00:48:55.580 Come back tomorrow.
