00:00:30.520 The Trump bucks are here.

00:00:32.620 Coronavirus stimulus checks

00:00:34.180 hit people's bank accounts yesterday,

00:00:35.900 giving much-needed relief to millions of Americans,

00:00:38.420 and the mainstream media are furious about it.

00:00:41.440 But are left-wing journalists angry about the policy,

00:00:44.700 or are they just upset that President Trump

00:00:46.460 is getting all the credit?

00:00:47.640 Then, liberal governors give us even more evidence

00:00:50.240 that the coronavirus pandemic

00:00:51.920 is politically a thing of the past.

00:00:54.140 The government power grab

00:00:55.520 leaves victims dead in its wake,

00:00:57.140 and, speaking of criminals,

00:00:59.000 a new report alleges that Jussie Smollett

00:01:01.360 had sex with his attacker, 0.59

00:01:03.420 which is particularly awkward 0.97

00:01:04.800 because Jussie Smollett attacked himself.

00:01:07.680 We will take a broad look at love

00:01:09.260 in the time of self-isolation.

00:01:11.500 All that and more.

00:01:12.140 I'm Michael Knowles,

00:01:12.680 and this is The Michael Knowles Show.

00:01:13.760 How are you going to spend your Trump bucks?

00:01:25.200 The money hit everybody's bank account yesterday.

00:01:28.780 The money printer goes,

00:01:30.320 brr, and we're hopefully all going to stimulate the economy.

00:01:34.220 The strategy here behind the Trump bucks

00:01:38.220 is driving the mainstream media and the left crazy,

00:01:41.640 and it's driving them crazy

00:01:42.680 because he's stealing their usual strategy

00:01:45.420 and using it against them.

00:01:46.660 So, we'll get to that in one second.

00:01:47.940 First, I've got to thank our friends over at Ring.

00:01:50.440 Look, whether you own your home

00:01:52.380 or whether you own an apartment

00:01:55.420 or a not-so-safe neighborhood,

00:01:57.180 you want to have eyes on your front door.

00:01:59.600 Let me tell you something.

00:02:00.260 I talked to a friend of mine last night.

00:02:01.640 Lives in Manhattan.

00:02:02.780 Lives in one of the nicest buildings in Manhattan.

00:02:06.000 He woke up the other day,

00:02:07.300 I think about two or three weeks ago,

00:02:08.700 he woke up the other day to a burglar in his bedroom. 0.97

00:02:12.600 And my friend, like a lunatic, 0.54

00:02:14.520 kind of chased the guy out 0.89

00:02:15.460 and then the guy went out through a window.

00:02:17.660 All because my friend did not have

00:02:19.760 a decent security system.

00:03:00.840 That is ring.com slash Knowles.

00:03:03.240 The Trump bucks hit the bank account

00:03:07.960 and the left are really upset.

00:03:09.600 Now, why are they going to even be able to justify

00:03:12.540 how upset they are?

00:03:13.500 They can't actually come out and say,

00:03:15.060 we're upset that Americans are getting relief

00:03:16.820 after the government mandated

00:03:18.300 that they all stop working for two months.

00:03:20.420 So, the way they've got to express their frustration

00:03:24.380 is to hone in on this one fact of the stimulus,

00:03:28.100 which is that President Trump's name is on it.

00:03:32.760 Here's a reporter asking that very question.

00:03:35.280 Why did you have your name added

00:03:36.940 to these coronavirus relief checks?

00:03:39.580 Well, I don't know too much about it,

00:03:41.180 but I understand my name is there.

00:03:43.100 I don't know where they're going, how they're going.

00:03:45.540 I do understand it's not delaying anything.

00:03:48.200 And I'm satisfied with that.

00:03:49.900 I don't imagine it's a big deal.

00:03:51.580 I'm sure people will be very happy

00:03:53.000 to get a big, fat, beautiful check 0.79

00:03:55.040 and my name is on it.

00:03:56.120 Yeah, go ahead, please.

00:03:57.700 Go ahead, please.

00:03:58.860 Please.

00:03:59.580 Why are you...

00:04:00.080 Please.

00:04:00.860 Go ahead.

00:04:02.060 A big, fat, beautiful check

00:04:04.360 and my name is on it.

00:04:06.020 Trump here is stealing

00:04:07.380 a left-wing political tactic.

00:04:11.260 Right?

00:04:11.660 The left,

00:04:12.620 the left is really good at optics, usually.

00:04:15.800 They're very good at making it seem like

00:04:18.040 they are the ones giving you

00:04:20.040 all these things,

00:04:20.880 all this money,

00:04:21.460 all these rights,

00:04:22.140 all they just give, give, give

00:04:23.380 and they put their name on it.

00:04:24.580 Now, usually it's not the case

00:04:25.960 that they're giving you anything.

00:04:27.080 They're just taking your tax money

00:04:28.240 and then giving it right back to you

00:04:29.560 and saying it's theirs.

00:04:30.740 The left has long done this.

00:04:32.680 Now, President Trump

00:04:33.380 is using that same tactic

00:04:34.560 at a time when Americans

00:04:35.660 actually do need relief.

00:04:38.180 But he's flipping their tactic

00:04:39.680 even in this negotiation.

00:04:41.480 Don't forget,

00:04:42.040 originally,

00:04:42.520 this is a federal program.

00:04:45.420 The Congress

00:04:46.040 and the Senate

00:04:46.860 pass it.

00:04:47.800 So it happens

00:04:48.660 at the federal level.

00:04:49.820 President Trump

00:04:50.360 is running

00:04:51.040 the federal government.

00:04:52.580 The only way

00:04:53.560 that Democrats

00:04:54.080 would agree

00:04:54.760 to the relief package

00:04:56.040 for coronavirus

00:04:56.660 is if,

00:04:58.860 even though the money

00:04:59.340 came from the federal government,

00:05:00.640 if the states

00:05:01.600 administered it.

00:05:03.680 Now, at the time,

00:05:04.580 a lot of people wondered,

00:05:05.280 who cares?

00:05:05.760 Why would you want

00:05:06.240 to slow down the process

00:05:07.660 of getting money

00:05:08.740 to people

00:05:09.620 who need it

00:05:10.260 in this time

00:05:11.120 of unemployment?

00:05:13.520 It doesn't make any sense,

00:05:14.880 does it?

00:05:15.060 The federal government

00:05:15.640 can fund it to you

00:05:16.400 just as easily

00:05:17.020 as the states can.

00:05:17.960 But the reason for that

00:05:18.860 is that the Democrats

00:05:19.840 did not want Trump

00:05:20.880 to get the credit,

00:05:21.920 even though it was

00:05:22.480 a Trump program,

00:05:23.300 even though it was

00:05:23.740 federally funded.

00:05:24.600 So they went through

00:05:25.440 this whole strabats

00:05:26.520 just so that they could

00:05:27.420 avoid giving Trump

00:05:28.440 the credit.

00:05:29.060 And what did Trump do?

00:05:29.940 He flipped it back on them

00:05:30.980 and he signed the checks.

00:05:32.080 Really smart play.

00:05:34.540 He, once again,

00:05:35.800 stymied their tactics.

00:05:37.680 And, of course,

00:05:38.880 people are not going

00:05:40.460 to get the check

00:05:41.260 and say,

00:05:42.020 I really want

00:05:43.620 to cash this $1,200.

00:05:45.020 I really want

00:05:45.520 to pay off my bills.

00:05:46.580 I really want

00:05:47.100 to pay my rent this month.

00:05:48.420 It's got Trump's name on it.

00:05:49.640 I can't cash it.

00:05:50.560 No, it's just going

00:05:51.180 to remind them

00:05:51.920 that this came

00:05:52.900 from the federal level

00:05:54.180 and give Trump

00:05:55.680 the credit

00:05:56.080 that he deserves.

00:05:57.340 Stymies them on that

00:05:58.160 and then

00:05:58.860 Trump turns

00:06:00.420 his attention

00:06:00.960 to the Congress

00:06:01.880 because right now

00:06:02.640 there are a lot

00:06:03.840 of open positions

00:06:04.680 in the federal government

00:06:05.580 and

00:06:06.480 some of those

00:06:07.980 need confirmation.

00:06:08.760 some of those

00:06:09.740 need to bring

00:06:10.100 the legislature

00:06:10.540 in on this.

00:06:11.440 But the legislature

00:06:12.400 is not in Washington.

00:06:13.320 You remember

00:06:13.740 the legislature

00:06:14.420 after a week

00:06:16.100 or two ago

00:06:16.560 they just all

00:06:17.040 left Washington

00:06:17.840 and went back

00:06:18.640 to their

00:06:19.100 home districts.

00:06:21.520 But they didn't

00:06:22.420 technically adjourn.

00:06:23.600 So they're still

00:06:23.940 technically in session

00:06:25.180 even though nobody

00:06:26.120 is in Washington

00:06:27.380 and they don't intend

00:06:28.120 to come back

00:06:28.700 until May.

00:06:29.320 So

00:06:30.660 if the

00:06:33.260 Congress

00:06:34.080 and the Senate

00:06:34.660 do adjourn

00:06:35.540 then President Trump

00:06:36.560 can appoint people

00:06:37.260 through what's called

00:06:37.920 a recess appointment.

00:06:39.280 If they don't adjourn

00:06:40.500 then those people

00:06:41.240 need confirmation.

00:06:43.020 And right now

00:06:43.880 they're in this

00:06:44.980 middle ground

00:06:45.680 where they haven't

00:06:46.380 technically adjourned

00:06:47.200 but they're not there

00:06:47.940 so nothing can get done.

00:06:49.440 Those positions

00:06:49.960 can't be filled

00:06:50.700 and obviously

00:06:51.180 we're in the midst

00:06:51.840 of a crisis

00:06:52.740 so

00:06:53.780 it's more important

00:06:55.140 than ever to get

00:06:55.600 those positions filled.

00:06:56.860 President Trump

00:06:57.420 figured out

00:06:58.120 a way to

00:06:59.340 circumnavigate

00:07:00.960 this issue

00:07:01.620 that managed

00:07:02.760 to make

00:07:03.100 everybody's heads 0.91

00:07:04.080 explode.

00:07:05.180 He threatened

00:07:05.780 to adjourn

00:07:06.880 himself

00:07:07.560 both houses

00:07:09.540 of Congress.

00:07:10.480 Here's a live feed

00:07:11.740 of President Trump

00:07:12.720 threatening

00:07:13.620 to close down

00:07:15.560 both houses

00:07:16.020 of Congress.

00:07:17.420 Talk of the exclusion

00:07:19.440 of the Duke of York

00:07:20.980 from the rightful

00:07:21.980 succession

00:07:22.660 is treason.

00:07:25.720 Any who speak

00:07:27.120 of it

00:07:27.460 set themselves

00:07:29.620 against legitimate

00:07:30.920 authority

00:07:31.600 and are the heirs

00:07:33.580 in spirit

00:07:34.300 to those rebels

00:07:35.740 who so recently

00:07:36.660 plunged our country

00:07:37.920 into rebellion

00:07:38.640 and civil war.

00:07:41.940 Can anyone here

00:07:43.540 contemplate such evil

00:07:44.940 without horror?

00:07:47.220 Anyone who denies

00:07:48.860 this truth

00:07:49.620 makes themselves

00:07:50.720 an enemy

00:07:51.500 of God,

00:07:53.440 king,

00:07:53.800 nation and country.

00:07:55.960 Think on that

00:07:57.040 before you take

00:07:57.740 another step

00:07:58.440 towards chaos.

00:08:01.700 All the world

00:08:03.280 may see

00:08:04.020 what a point

00:08:04.740 we have come to.

00:08:06.640 Nothing that begins

00:08:07.880 in such division

00:08:08.960 is likely to end well.

00:08:10.360 I declare

00:08:14.240 Parliament

00:08:15.040 dissolved.

00:08:18.340 Gentlemen,

00:08:19.480 go home.

00:08:22.760 I will not

00:08:23.780 trouble you

00:08:24.360 any further.

00:08:27.200 Gentlemen,

00:08:28.200 go home.

00:08:29.660 Okay,

00:08:30.440 huge.

00:08:31.040 This is going to be

00:08:31.820 the hugest,

00:08:32.660 most wonderful monarchy

00:08:33.940 in the history

00:08:34.620 of the world.

00:08:35.140 I got those

00:08:35.940 confused.

00:08:37.200 That was actually

00:08:37.660 King Charles II

00:08:38.440 dissolving Parliament.

00:08:39.960 But it was

00:08:40.620 a very similar

00:08:41.460 clip to

00:08:42.400 President Trump

00:08:43.020 in the Rose Garden

00:08:43.800 yesterday threatening

00:08:44.640 to adjourn

00:08:45.440 both houses

00:08:46.780 of Congress.

00:08:48.460 And this is

00:08:48.900 making heads

00:08:49.360 explode not just

00:08:50.700 on the left

00:08:52.220 but some heads

00:08:53.320 explode on the right

00:08:54.500 as well.

00:08:55.180 Here is,

00:08:55.740 and again,

00:08:56.160 I'm sorry for my

00:08:56.840 confusion,

00:08:57.660 here is President Trump.

00:08:59.600 The Senate

00:09:00.120 has left

00:09:00.660 Washington

00:09:01.320 until at least

00:09:03.480 May 4th.

00:09:04.300 The Constitution

00:09:04.960 provides a mechanism

00:09:06.400 for the President

00:09:07.820 to fill positions

00:09:08.900 in such circumstances.

00:09:10.920 The recess

00:09:11.380 appointment,

00:09:12.720 it's called.

00:09:13.980 The Senate's

00:09:14.620 practice of

00:09:15.460 gaveling into

00:09:17.120 so-called

00:09:17.680 pro-forma sessions

00:09:19.000 where no one

00:09:19.800 is even there

00:09:21.320 has prevented me

00:09:23.140 from using

00:09:23.760 the constitutional

00:09:25.580 authority

00:09:26.220 that we're giving,

00:09:27.660 that we're given

00:09:28.600 under

00:09:29.020 the recess

00:09:30.540 provisions.

00:09:32.020 The Senate

00:09:32.540 should either

00:09:33.080 fulfill its duty

00:09:34.080 and vote on my

00:09:34.980 nominees

00:09:37.820 so that I can

00:09:38.640 make recess

00:09:39.500 appointments.

00:09:41.820 We have a

00:09:42.600 tremendous number

00:09:43.500 of people that

00:09:44.120 have to come

00:09:44.620 into government

00:09:45.240 and now more so

00:09:46.180 than ever before

00:09:46.960 because of the

00:09:47.820 virus and the

00:09:48.700 problem.

00:09:50.880 We have to do it

00:09:52.080 and we have to do

00:09:53.420 whatever we have to

00:09:54.200 do.

00:09:55.200 If the House

00:09:55.660 will not agree

00:09:56.400 to that adjournment,

00:09:57.460 I will exercise

00:09:58.340 my constitutional

00:09:59.660 authority

00:10:00.380 to adjourn

00:10:02.680 both chambers

00:10:03.720 of Congress.

00:10:04.480 Oh, man.

00:10:06.360 Okay, it's not

00:10:06.880 quite as good

00:10:07.440 as Charles II

00:10:08.160 but it's very,

00:10:09.700 very close.

00:10:10.820 If only

00:10:11.500 he had ended

00:10:14.380 that statement

00:10:14.900 by saying,

00:10:15.340 I will not

00:10:15.920 trouble you

00:10:16.540 any further.

00:10:17.580 Go home.

00:10:18.700 Then it would

00:10:19.140 have been

00:10:19.520 almost exactly

00:10:20.800 the same.

00:10:21.540 The left

00:10:22.180 and some people

00:10:22.920 on the right

00:10:23.320 are freaking

00:10:23.900 out over this

00:10:24.540 because they

00:10:24.880 say this is

00:10:25.380 an outrageous

00:10:26.100 unconstitutional

00:10:26.940 power grab.

00:10:28.260 Let me direct

00:10:29.180 your attention

00:10:29.780 to Article 2,

00:10:31.560 Section 3

00:10:32.200 of the Constitution.

00:10:33.780 The president

00:10:35.480 may,

00:10:36.280 on extraordinary

00:10:37.160 occasions,

00:10:38.360 convene both

00:10:39.060 houses or

00:10:40.160 either of them

00:10:40.940 and in case

00:10:41.960 of disagreement

00:10:42.600 between them

00:10:43.580 with respect

00:10:44.460 to the time

00:10:45.300 of adjournment,

00:10:47.080 he may adjourn

00:10:48.220 them to such

00:10:49.360 time as he

00:10:51.000 shall think

00:10:51.620 proper.

00:10:53.700 He has this

00:10:55.160 authority to

00:10:55.940 adjourn them.

00:10:56.380 He has this

00:10:57.220 power to

00:10:58.540 recess

00:10:59.800 appointments.

00:11:00.840 Some people

00:11:01.720 on the left

00:11:02.080 don't understand

00:11:02.580 this.

00:11:02.840 So Karen

00:11:03.120 Tumulty over

00:11:03.800 at the

00:11:04.220 Washington Post,

00:11:05.020 she tweets

00:11:05.420 out,

00:11:05.960 how do

00:11:06.260 people who

00:11:07.080 used to

00:11:07.760 claim they

00:11:08.200 respected the

00:11:08.920 Constitution

00:11:09.540 reconcile this?

00:11:11.060 Tea Party,

00:11:11.720 where are you?

00:11:12.980 Trump threatens

00:11:14.040 to adjourn

00:11:14.760 Congress to

00:11:15.360 get his

00:11:15.640 nominees through.

00:11:18.900 You're asking

00:11:19.920 how people

00:11:21.880 who respect

00:11:22.460 the Constitution

00:11:23.400 can go along

00:11:24.820 with President

00:11:25.320 Trump exercising

00:11:26.760 a power that

00:11:27.360 he has explicitly

00:11:28.000 granted in the

00:11:28.580 Constitution.

00:11:29.200 That's the

00:11:29.520 question?

00:11:31.700 Pretty easily,

00:11:32.760 I guess.

00:11:33.120 Without very

00:11:34.320 much difficulty

00:11:35.080 at all.

00:11:35.960 This is my

00:11:36.480 favorite version

00:11:38.260 of this.

00:11:38.820 So we're

00:11:39.820 looking up on

00:11:40.440 the internet,

00:11:41.020 okay, Trump

00:11:42.400 I guess has

00:11:42.900 this power,

00:11:43.520 maybe I'm

00:11:43.840 misreading the

00:11:44.320 Constitution.

00:11:45.140 What do people

00:11:45.780 think about this?

00:11:46.540 What do the

00:11:48.100 commentators and

00:11:49.020 the news people,

00:11:49.800 what do they say

00:11:50.220 about this?

00:11:51.020 September 23rd,

00:11:52.240 1964, this is a

00:11:54.500 headline in the

00:11:55.560 New York Times,

00:11:56.680 president has

00:11:59.500 authority to

00:12:00.600 send Congress

00:12:01.880 home.

00:12:04.700 Oh, I love it.

00:12:05.560 It's the same 0.53

00:12:06.380 principle as

00:12:07.040 there's a tweet

00:12:07.520 for everything.

00:12:08.220 You know, when

00:12:08.460 President Trump

00:12:08.880 says something,

00:12:09.740 people dig back

00:12:10.460 10 years in his

00:12:11.480 tweets and they

00:12:11.980 find a tweet that

00:12:12.680 contradicts what he's

00:12:13.380 just doing.

00:12:14.140 Well, we can play

00:12:14.880 that same game with

00:12:15.580 the New York Times.

00:12:16.460 Usually we can do

00:12:17.100 that, you know,

00:12:17.720 month by month

00:12:18.640 because when a

00:12:19.480 Democrat does

00:12:20.040 something, it's

00:12:20.460 fine and when a

00:12:21.200 Republican does

00:12:21.800 something, it's

00:12:22.260 terrible in the

00:12:22.820 New York Times.

00:12:23.300 We have to go

00:12:23.860 back a little

00:12:24.300 further here, but

00:12:24.980 you just go to

00:12:25.380 1964, New York

00:12:26.660 Times president has

00:12:27.680 the authority to

00:12:28.960 send Congress

00:12:29.800 home.

00:12:31.560 Very, very fun.

00:12:32.780 Trump obviously

00:12:33.420 knew this.

00:12:34.020 His advisors

00:12:34.440 obviously knew

00:12:35.040 this.

00:12:35.700 So, yet again,

00:12:37.140 they tee up the

00:12:38.460 left, the left

00:12:39.220 goes crazy, and

00:12:40.440 then he just

00:12:41.120 knocks it right

00:12:41.600 out of the park.

00:12:43.120 The rest of the

00:12:43.980 press conference was

00:12:45.280 good.

00:12:46.000 You know, obviously

00:12:46.420 all of these have

00:12:47.040 been pretty

00:12:47.400 interesting.

00:12:47.880 It's allowing

00:12:48.200 Trump to control

00:12:48.740 the narrative.

00:12:51.380 Increasingly,

00:12:51.780 they're getting

00:12:52.100 combative, and

00:12:52.720 this is because,

00:12:53.300 yesterday, we

00:12:53.680 talked about how

00:12:54.440 the tide has

00:12:55.620 turned, the

00:12:56.060 backlash has

00:12:56.700 begun.

00:12:57.480 This is across

00:12:58.160 party lines.

00:12:59.540 You've now got

00:13:00.060 liberal governors

00:13:00.620 who are moving

00:13:02.260 away from panic,

00:13:03.340 moving into

00:13:03.980 economic recovery.

00:13:05.460 Trump is going

00:13:06.300 on the offensive

00:13:06.980 more so than

00:13:07.700 usual, and he's

00:13:08.620 going after the

00:13:09.360 reporters, and he's

00:13:10.080 questioning their

00:13:10.720 premises.

00:13:11.200 So, one of the

00:13:11.820 premises that the

00:13:12.940 left has been

00:13:13.380 trying to build up

00:13:14.080 to is that the

00:13:15.200 United States

00:13:15.820 totally bungled

00:13:16.680 the pandemic, and

00:13:18.260 it was the United

00:13:18.760 States' fault, and

00:13:20.380 now we've got the

00:13:21.860 most coronavirus

00:13:22.600 deaths anywhere in

00:13:24.100 the world.

00:13:25.160 And part of the

00:13:25.680 way they can get

00:13:26.100 away with this is

00:13:26.740 because China has

00:13:27.480 been lying about

00:13:28.280 their numbers.

00:13:29.560 If you look at the

00:13:30.100 growth of coronavirus

00:13:30.800 in China, it goes 0.85

00:13:32.260 up, it goes up, it's

00:13:33.180 increasing steadily,

00:13:34.120 it's exponentially, and

00:13:34.980 then one day it just

00:13:35.560 stops.

00:13:36.800 Okay, and they say,

00:13:37.340 oh, no more cases,

00:13:38.200 we're all good.

00:13:38.660 And that's just not

00:13:39.280 how viruses work.

00:13:40.400 The Chinese government

00:13:41.140 obviously lies all the

00:13:43.060 time, and specifically

00:13:44.120 about this pandemic,

00:13:45.100 their lies are the

00:13:45.720 reason that it's spread

00:13:46.320 around the world.

00:13:46.800 So, no reason to

00:13:47.720 believe them unless

00:13:49.080 you're in the

00:13:49.440 mainstream media and

00:13:50.400 you want to attack

00:13:51.020 Trump.

00:13:51.400 So they use this

00:13:52.260 premise, and Trump

00:13:53.060 just shoots it

00:13:54.440 straight down.

00:13:55.580 Why do we have

00:13:56.580 20% of the world's

00:13:58.060 deaths from the

00:13:58.620 coronavirus when we're

00:13:59.540 only 4% of the

00:14:00.560 world's population?

00:14:01.760 Well, you don't know

00:14:02.520 what you have.

00:14:03.200 Do you think you're

00:14:03.720 getting honest numbers

00:14:04.580 from some of these

00:14:05.360 countries?

00:14:06.080 Do you really believe

00:14:06.940 those numbers in this

00:14:08.020 vast country called

00:14:09.140 China, and that they 0.99

00:14:10.880 have a certain number

00:14:11.720 of cases and a

00:14:12.640 certain number of

00:14:13.240 that?

00:14:13.440 Does anybody really

00:14:14.280 believe that?

00:14:14.740 Here's the story.

00:14:15.580 We report everything.

00:14:16.820 We're reporting the

00:14:18.020 cases, and our

00:14:19.460 reporting is good.

00:14:20.500 We're reporting every

00:14:21.340 death.

00:14:22.260 In fact, I see this

00:14:23.640 morning where New York

00:14:24.700 added 3,000 deaths

00:14:26.220 because they died, and

00:14:28.260 they're now saying,

00:14:29.140 rather than it was a

00:14:29.900 heart attack, they're

00:14:30.640 saying it was a heart

00:14:31.360 attack caused by this.

00:14:32.460 So they're adding.

00:14:33.860 If you look at it, that's

00:14:36.320 it.

00:14:36.880 And everything we have is

00:14:38.800 documented, reported.

00:14:40.200 And what they are doing

00:14:41.460 is, just in case, they're

00:14:43.400 calling it this.

00:14:44.100 And that's okay.

00:14:45.340 That's okay.

00:14:46.400 But we are, we have

00:14:48.660 more cases because we

00:14:50.100 do more reporting.

00:14:51.200 We have more cases

00:14:52.480 because everything is

00:14:53.680 down.

00:14:54.240 But does anybody really

00:14:55.420 believe the numbers of

00:14:56.800 some of these countries

00:14:57.840 that you've been

00:14:58.400 watching and you've been

00:14:59.400 reporting on?

00:15:00.420 Does anybody believe

00:15:01.760 it?

00:15:02.040 No, nobody believes it.

00:15:03.140 Even the mainstream

00:15:03.620 media doesn't really

00:15:04.640 believe it.

00:15:05.080 They're just saying this

00:15:05.920 to attack President

00:15:06.960 Trump.

00:15:07.380 And on that point,

00:15:08.480 actually, Fox News

00:15:10.200 now has multiple sources

00:15:11.760 confirming something that

00:15:12.740 we have been talking

00:15:13.520 about for weeks.

00:15:14.520 We've been talking

00:15:15.200 about it, not just on

00:15:15.900 this show.

00:15:16.480 I've also been talking

00:15:17.220 about it on Verdict,

00:15:18.720 my show with Senator

00:15:19.620 Ted Cruz.

00:15:20.500 And when we raised

00:15:21.720 this suggestion,

00:15:23.460 the mainstream media

00:15:24.960 referred to us as

00:15:25.760 conspiracy theorists

00:15:27.280 without basis.

00:15:28.980 And not just to us,

00:15:30.020 they did it to

00:15:30.680 Senator Tom Cotton,

00:15:32.300 they did it to

00:15:32.760 anybody who raised

00:15:33.580 the possibility

00:15:34.400 that this pandemic

00:15:36.460 was in any way

00:15:37.560 connected to the

00:15:39.180 Wuhan Institute of

00:15:40.600 Virology.

00:15:41.260 It's that very high

00:15:42.400 level virus lab

00:15:43.400 that happened to

00:15:44.180 be studying

00:15:44.680 coronavirus,

00:15:45.580 that happened to

00:15:46.220 be studying

00:15:46.620 coronavirus in

00:15:47.400 bats,

00:15:47.860 that happened to

00:15:48.700 be two miles

00:15:49.940 by car and

00:15:51.400 800 yards

00:15:52.580 by foot

00:15:53.320 away from

00:15:54.420 the Wuhan

00:15:54.960 wet market

00:15:55.940 where all this

00:15:56.540 allegedly started.

00:15:57.460 If you suggested

00:15:58.760 any connection

00:15:59.580 between the two,

00:16:00.720 oh, you were a 0.94

00:16:01.200 kook, you were 1.00

00:16:01.660 crazy, you had no 1.00

00:16:02.320 evidence.

00:16:02.740 Well, now Fox News

00:16:04.160 is reporting multiple

00:16:04.940 sources confirm

00:16:05.780 the virus

00:16:08.540 originated in

00:16:09.920 the Wuhan

00:16:10.800 laboratory.

00:16:12.440 It was being

00:16:12.940 studied in the

00:16:14.240 Wuhan laboratory,

00:16:15.160 whether it came

00:16:15.820 at its inception

00:16:17.420 from nature

00:16:18.060 or elsewhere.

00:16:19.020 It was at that

00:16:20.320 laboratory and it

00:16:21.660 got out.

00:16:22.520 Here's the question,

00:16:23.380 here's Trump's

00:16:23.820 answer.

00:16:24.480 Multiple sources

00:16:25.360 are telling Fox News

00:16:26.880 today that the

00:16:27.560 United States

00:16:28.340 government now has

00:16:29.580 high confidence

00:16:30.380 that while the

00:16:31.520 coronavirus is a

00:16:32.820 naturally occurring

00:16:33.880 virus, it emanated

00:16:35.640 from a virology

00:16:37.080 lab in Wuhan

00:16:38.120 that because of

00:16:39.160 lax safety protocols

00:16:40.440 an intern was

00:16:41.660 infected who later

00:16:43.060 infected her 0.79

00:16:43.720 boyfriend and then

00:16:44.940 went to the wet

00:16:45.600 market in Wuhan

00:16:46.400 where it began to

00:16:47.680 spread.

00:16:48.120 Does that correspond

00:16:49.060 with what you have

00:16:50.580 heard from officials?

00:16:51.320 Well, I don't want

00:16:51.740 to say that, John,

00:16:52.640 but I will tell you

00:16:53.440 more and more we're

00:16:54.280 hearing the story

00:16:55.040 and we'll see.

00:16:56.640 When you say

00:16:57.040 multiple sources,

00:16:58.060 now there's a case

00:16:58.700 where you can use

00:16:59.280 the word sources,

00:17:00.720 but we are doing

00:17:02.980 a very thorough

00:17:03.680 examination of this

00:17:04.960 horrible situation

00:17:06.460 that happened.

00:17:07.480 Obviously, President

00:17:08.300 Trump is giving a

00:17:09.100 diplomatic answer

00:17:10.080 here because part

00:17:11.780 of his job is to

00:17:12.540 manage international

00:17:13.340 relations.

00:17:14.000 It's actually why he

00:17:14.780 hasn't smacked China 1.00

00:17:15.880 nearly as hard as you

00:17:17.220 would expect him to

00:17:18.200 maybe if he were

00:17:18.900 merely on the

00:17:19.600 campaign trail.

00:17:20.400 Part of that is he's

00:17:21.100 got to work with

00:17:21.660 China right now on 0.52

00:17:22.620 this pandemic.

00:17:23.760 Part of that is

00:17:24.640 they've just negotiated

00:17:25.460 this very difficult

00:17:26.660 trade deal.

00:17:27.240 Part of that is

00:17:27.780 there are more

00:17:28.380 factors at play.

00:17:29.480 But you can hear

00:17:30.180 in his answer,

00:17:30.880 the subtext is

00:17:31.580 pretty clear.

00:17:32.080 Yes, there are

00:17:32.820 strong indications

00:17:33.560 that this came

00:17:34.660 from the lab,

00:17:35.560 which frankly is

00:17:36.660 just common sense.

00:17:38.000 Okay, anybody who

00:17:39.340 has any reasonable

00:17:40.820 grasp of probability

00:17:41.800 should have known

00:17:42.720 that this was a

00:17:43.620 very likely situation.

00:17:45.340 This is a

00:17:46.180 humiliation for

00:17:47.620 the mainstream media

00:17:48.660 who called the

00:17:50.400 suggestion a

00:17:50.940 conspiracy theory

00:17:51.720 because they're

00:17:52.120 carrying water

00:17:52.840 for the communist

00:17:53.700 regime in China.

00:17:54.580 And there's more

00:17:55.020 good news too.

00:17:56.420 We heard yesterday

00:17:58.320 from the liberal

00:17:59.200 governors, Andy Cuomo

00:18:00.300 in New York and

00:18:01.280 Gavin Newsom in

00:18:02.120 California, that

00:18:03.540 things are looking

00:18:04.520 good.

00:18:04.860 They've turned a

00:18:05.300 corner.

00:18:06.140 They want to

00:18:06.760 reopen, not just

00:18:07.520 the state, they

00:18:08.000 want to reopen

00:18:08.520 the region, that

00:18:09.540 the political

00:18:10.340 phenomenon of the

00:18:11.900 coronavirus pandemic

00:18:12.740 is over, even

00:18:14.900 though obviously,

00:18:15.780 you know, medically

00:18:16.220 this is going to

00:18:16.860 continue for some

00:18:18.260 long period of

00:18:18.980 time as a

00:18:19.940 political phenomenon

00:18:20.660 as a matter of

00:18:21.240 the shutdowns.

00:18:22.580 It's done.

00:18:24.600 There's more

00:18:25.300 evidence of this

00:18:26.120 today.

00:18:26.600 Andy Cuomo

00:18:27.020 announced in his

00:18:28.240 latest press

00:18:28.840 conference that

00:18:29.800 things are going

00:18:30.440 so well in

00:18:31.200 New York, even

00:18:31.860 though obviously

00:18:32.260 the death

00:18:32.760 numbers lag, the

00:18:34.100 hospitalization

00:18:34.820 numbers, so the

00:18:35.720 death numbers

00:18:36.160 still might be

00:18:36.640 pretty scary, the

00:18:38.020 hospitalization

00:18:38.720 numbers are

00:18:39.540 decreasing so

00:18:40.420 steadily that

00:18:41.440 New York is

00:18:41.860 actually going to

00:18:42.240 be giving away

00:18:43.080 ventilators to

00:18:44.060 other states.

00:18:44.840 On the

00:18:45.440 ventilators, we've

00:18:47.060 stabilized our

00:18:47.680 healthcare situation.

00:18:48.860 New York had

00:18:49.340 one of the

00:18:49.780 earlier curves.

00:18:52.440 There are other

00:18:53.220 places in this

00:18:54.000 country announcing

00:18:54.840 increases in the

00:18:56.120 death rate and

00:18:57.180 they're seeing

00:18:57.520 stress on their

00:18:58.220 healthcare system.

00:18:59.800 I will never

00:19:00.540 forget the

00:19:01.080 generosity that

00:19:02.500 people across

00:19:03.860 this country

00:19:04.360 showed to our

00:19:05.640 state and I

00:19:07.600 said at that

00:19:08.180 time, New

00:19:09.640 Yorkers are 1.00

00:19:11.100 generous and

00:19:12.420 they are

00:19:12.920 grateful and

00:19:14.000 gracious and

00:19:14.880 when you need

00:19:15.460 help, we will

00:19:16.280 be there for

00:19:17.140 you and we

00:19:18.300 will be.

00:19:19.520 State of

00:19:20.080 Michigan is

00:19:20.800 going through

00:19:21.200 an issue right

00:19:21.800 now.

00:19:22.100 State of

00:19:22.380 Maryland is

00:19:22.820 going through

00:19:23.180 an issue.

00:19:24.080 We're stabilized.

00:19:25.460 We're going to

00:19:25.840 send 100

00:19:26.440 ventilators to

00:19:27.220 Michigan and 50

00:19:28.060 to the state of

00:19:29.020 Maryland.

00:19:29.760 Now, obviously,

00:19:31.040 if New York

00:19:31.480 were still in

00:19:32.440 the peak of

00:19:33.720 this chaos, they

00:19:34.720 wouldn't be able

00:19:35.200 to give away

00:19:35.580 ventilators.

00:19:36.220 Don't forget

00:19:36.600 what we had

00:19:37.000 been hearing for

00:19:37.420 weeks and

00:19:37.720 weeks is New

00:19:38.120 York doesn't 0.71

00:19:38.480 have enough

00:19:38.820 ventilators,

00:19:39.620 doesn't have

00:19:40.000 enough hospitals,

00:19:40.880 doesn't, we

00:19:41.380 need to take

00:19:41.760 over the

00:19:42.020 Javits Center,

00:19:42.600 we need to

00:19:42.900 get a cruise

00:19:43.560 ship, a

00:19:43.920 hospital ship

00:19:44.620 down here to

00:19:45.480 take care of

00:19:45.920 everybody and

00:19:46.480 then that was

00:19:47.100 not needed.

00:19:48.520 So, there

00:19:49.640 are fewer

00:19:49.880 people went to

00:19:50.380 the hospital

00:19:50.800 than they

00:19:51.120 expected, fewer

00:19:52.740 people needed

00:19:53.220 the ventilators

00:19:53.880 than they

00:19:54.600 expected.

00:19:55.940 Now they have

00:19:56.480 so much

00:19:56.760 excess, they're

00:19:57.280 able to give

00:19:57.800 it away.

00:19:58.960 That's in

00:19:59.420 New York, the

00:19:59.980 epicenter of

00:20:00.660 the epidemic in

00:20:01.940 America.

00:20:03.800 Great news.

00:20:04.580 It's not just

00:20:05.140 in New York

00:20:05.680 though, it's

00:20:06.800 also in

00:20:07.660 California.

00:20:08.500 One point on

00:20:09.180 Andy Cuomo

00:20:09.600 though, I

00:20:10.340 again was

00:20:10.880 speaking to a

00:20:11.380 friend of mine

00:20:11.760 from New York

00:20:12.240 yesterday and

00:20:13.340 he said, I

00:20:13.740 was watching

00:20:14.880 Andy Cuomo say

00:20:16.020 that New Yorker

00:20:16.560 is always

00:20:16.940 gracious and

00:20:17.740 grateful and

00:20:18.320 nice to

00:20:18.620 everybody.

00:20:19.240 Has Andy

00:20:19.800 Cuomo ever

00:20:20.240 met a New

00:20:20.600 Yorker?

00:20:21.680 And I have

00:20:22.340 to say, myself

00:20:23.000 being a New

00:20:23.440 Yorker, I

00:20:23.900 was a little

00:20:24.340 puzzled at

00:20:25.120 that.

00:20:25.380 One thing too

00:20:26.180 that you

00:20:26.500 notice,

00:20:26.840 in these

00:20:28.020 press conferences

00:20:28.680 from Cuomo, he

00:20:30.100 turns up the

00:20:30.720 New York

00:20:31.020 accent.

00:20:32.740 So, if you

00:20:33.960 were to listen

00:20:34.680 to him here,

00:20:35.200 you'd hear like,

00:20:36.000 hey, but you

00:20:36.720 know, look, this

00:20:37.540 is New York, we're

00:20:38.480 really grateful,

00:20:39.440 really gracious

00:20:39.980 people.

00:20:40.640 That's not

00:20:41.260 really how Andy

00:20:42.120 Cuomo talks.

00:20:42.920 I've run into

00:20:43.600 Andy Cuomo twice

00:20:44.660 in person.

00:20:45.620 I was a

00:20:46.520 kitchen runner,

00:20:47.940 I was like a

00:20:48.540 waiter for him

00:20:49.240 one time when I

00:20:50.680 was in high

00:20:51.040 school and then

00:20:51.900 one time during

00:20:52.580 Hurricane Sandy

00:20:53.440 when I was

00:20:53.880 living in New

00:20:54.380 York, I was

00:20:56.020 hanging out in

00:20:56.960 my apartment

00:20:57.420 building.

00:20:57.980 Luckily, before

00:20:58.460 Hurricane Sandy

00:20:59.160 hit, one of

00:20:59.920 our neighbors

00:21:00.400 had catered an

00:21:01.260 event and

00:21:01.740 brought back, I

00:21:02.920 think, 15

00:21:03.500 cases of beer.

00:21:04.860 So, we, you

00:21:05.640 know, indulged a

00:21:06.440 little bit and

00:21:07.300 then like a

00:21:07.720 bunch of young 1.00

00:21:08.300 idiots in the 1.00

00:21:09.200 middle of the 1.00

00:21:09.600 storm went out

00:21:10.240 walking around

00:21:10.820 with a beer and

00:21:12.580 a cigar and kind

00:21:13.420 of surveyed the

00:21:13.940 damage.

00:21:14.640 And the only

00:21:15.200 other guy we

00:21:15.740 run into out

00:21:16.380 there is Andy

00:21:17.460 Cuomo, who was

00:21:18.180 there with two

00:21:18.620 cops surveying the

00:21:19.840 damage.

00:21:20.360 And anyway, I say

00:21:21.520 all of that to

00:21:22.540 point out, he

00:21:23.880 knows how to play

00:21:24.460 it up for the

00:21:24.900 cameras.

00:21:25.400 He's obviously

00:21:26.040 angling for some

00:21:26.900 kind of national

00:21:27.700 profile here.

00:21:29.460 He's playing up

00:21:30.180 this whole New

00:21:30.660 York character.

00:21:32.080 That's fine.

00:21:32.760 That's all well

00:21:33.240 and good.

00:21:34.060 If he could play

00:21:35.920 up the drama of

00:21:36.920 the situation in

00:21:37.660 New York even

00:21:38.340 more, he certainly

00:21:39.340 would do that.

00:21:40.560 The fact that he's

00:21:41.360 now moving into

00:21:41.940 this more positive,

00:21:43.140 more hopeful angle

00:21:45.300 means that politically

00:21:47.060 we've turned the

00:21:47.640 corner.

00:21:47.980 Gavin Newsom's

00:21:48.480 doing the same

00:21:48.920 thing.

00:21:49.540 Gavin Newsom is

00:21:50.680 being very, very

00:21:51.740 generous with

00:21:52.300 California's

00:21:52.880 resources, meaning

00:21:54.180 with all of your

00:21:55.000 taxpayer money.

00:21:56.440 Gavin Newsom is

00:21:56.980 now going to be

00:21:57.440 giving away taxpayer

00:21:58.240 money to illegal

00:21:59.160 aliens in the

00:22:00.180 state who are no

00:22:01.520 longer able to

00:22:02.300 work because of

00:22:03.580 the shutdown.

00:22:04.140 He's giving $500

00:22:04.920 per person to

00:22:06.820 150,000 illegal

00:22:09.000 aliens throughout 0.73

00:22:09.900 the state.

00:22:10.420 That's according to

00:22:11.240 the Associated Press.

00:22:12.780 So you're a 0.99

00:22:13.260 criminal. 0.99

00:22:13.620 You break our

00:22:14.140 laws.

00:22:14.680 You break very

00:22:15.420 important laws by

00:22:16.820 crossing our border

00:22:17.660 illegally.

00:22:18.480 You remain here.

00:22:19.620 You don't leave.

00:22:20.460 And what happens to

00:22:21.280 you?

00:22:22.000 You get more of our

00:22:22.880 taxpayer money.

00:22:24.000 Wow, how generous.

00:22:25.740 Typical lunacy from 0.80

00:22:27.160 leftist California, but 0.52

00:22:28.660 I pointed out to

00:22:31.000 show you if things

00:22:33.380 were really dire in

00:22:34.380 California, if all the

00:22:35.540 doomsday alarmists were

00:22:36.620 right and California was

00:22:37.920 just as bad as New York

00:22:39.080 and getting even worse,

00:22:40.860 they wouldn't have the

00:22:41.580 resources to do this

00:22:42.600 kind of thing.

00:22:43.120 But they do have a lot

00:22:43.780 of extra resources because

00:22:45.700 it didn't hit nearly as

00:22:47.180 badly as we were told it

00:22:48.060 was going to.

00:22:48.600 So now they're giving it

00:22:49.320 away to illegal aliens. 0.97

00:22:52.480 This is fine evidence

00:22:56.020 that we can start

00:22:57.480 moving forward, but the

00:22:58.600 only way that we're

00:22:59.240 going to move forward is

00:23:00.540 if you and I turn up the

00:23:01.900 heat on these

00:23:02.420 politicians.

00:23:03.700 The politicians, their

00:23:04.840 only superpower is they

00:23:05.780 can tell which way the

00:23:06.500 wind blows.

00:23:07.760 We got to make sure that

00:23:08.600 they feel a strong wind.

00:23:10.140 Speaking of criminals,

00:23:11.060 by the way, you know,

00:23:12.340 part of this whole

00:23:12.980 coronavirus response is

00:23:14.420 that some local

00:23:15.740 governments are

00:23:16.260 releasing criminals.

00:23:17.440 Many local governments

00:23:18.760 are releasing criminals

00:23:19.640 and the idea behind it

00:23:20.960 was we don't want the

00:23:21.880 jails to be overcrowded.

00:23:23.060 We don't want them to

00:23:23.620 spread coronavirus to

00:23:24.580 each other.

00:23:25.440 We want to, in the midst

00:23:26.400 of a crisis, release a 0.92

00:23:27.760 bunch of violent thugs

00:23:28.940 onto the street and that

00:23:30.180 way they can spread

00:23:30.760 coronavirus to you as

00:23:31.720 they're burgling your

00:23:32.320 apartment.

00:23:33.360 So typically, as you

00:23:36.320 might expect, this did

00:23:37.560 not end very well and we

00:23:39.460 predicted on this show,

00:23:41.180 I'll point out, that this

00:23:42.640 would not end very well

00:23:44.560 and now we've got our

00:23:45.500 evidence.

00:23:45.780 According to a Hillsborough

00:23:47.880 County Sheriff's Office,

00:23:51.020 deputies arrested a 26-year-old

00:23:53.160 Joseph Edward Williams

00:23:55.080 for homicide that happened

00:23:57.180 in Tampa, Florida

00:23:58.200 on March 20th.

00:24:00.740 Okay, but we hear these

00:24:03.060 stories all the time.

00:24:03.860 People commit murder.

00:24:05.980 He's facing a second-degree

00:24:07.420 murder charge along with

00:24:08.440 resisting an officer

00:24:09.280 with violence, felon in

00:24:11.900 possession of a firearm,

00:24:13.460 possession of heroin,

00:24:14.240 and possession of drug

00:24:15.940 paraphernalia.

00:24:17.000 Okay, so he was arrested,

00:24:18.040 what, March 20th.

00:24:20.200 The thing that makes this

00:24:21.380 story notable is that he

00:24:22.900 was also arrested a week

00:24:24.020 earlier.

00:24:24.620 He was arrested a week

00:24:25.640 earlier on drug charges,

00:24:27.180 but they let him go

00:24:28.660 because coronavirus or

00:24:30.560 something.

00:24:31.340 They let him go.

00:24:32.320 A week later, he murders

00:24:33.500 somebody.

00:24:33.920 Someone is dead because of 1.00

00:24:36.540 their stupid criminal 1.00

00:24:39.460 justice policies in the face 1.00

00:24:40.780 of coronavirus.

00:24:42.920 Is his victim going to be

00:24:44.400 added to the list of

00:24:45.880 coronavirus deaths?

00:24:47.740 Probably he should.

00:24:50.620 Right?

00:24:50.940 Because of the coronavirus

00:24:52.420 response, a person is dead

00:24:55.000 today who would not

00:24:56.060 otherwise have been dead 0.59

00:24:57.000 because this criminal would 0.94

00:24:58.820 not have been let out of

00:24:59.520 prison.

00:25:02.000 These are important data

00:25:03.260 points for people, not just

00:25:05.240 who are defending the

00:25:06.180 overreaction from the

00:25:07.160 governments here, but who

00:25:08.400 defend letting criminals

00:25:09.660 out of prison.

00:25:10.440 This has become popular

00:25:11.460 even on the right, not

00:25:13.100 just on the left, because

00:25:14.640 on the right, they think

00:25:15.820 it's a good way to pander

00:25:16.740 to voters.

00:25:17.540 They say, oh, look, we

00:25:18.080 want to let criminals out

00:25:18.940 of, at a prison.

00:25:19.800 It's, there are too many

00:25:20.560 criminals in prison.

00:25:21.440 Never mind what they did,

00:25:22.220 never mind the crimes they

00:25:22.920 committed or are going to

00:25:23.860 commit.

00:25:24.220 We just got to let them

00:25:25.080 out because it feels icky

00:25:26.020 to lock people up.

00:25:27.120 It's not icky.

00:25:27.840 It's a good thing.

00:25:28.540 Lock up criminals, lock up

00:25:29.680 more criminals.

00:25:31.320 You think we have an

00:25:31.860 over-incarceration problem?

00:25:33.080 As long as crimes are

00:25:33.840 being committed, I suppose

00:25:34.780 we have an under-

00:25:35.720 incarceration

00:25:36.120 problem.

00:25:37.400 Little bit of reality

00:25:38.660 coming up against all

00:25:39.660 the models and the

00:25:40.480 projections and the

00:25:41.420 dreams and the fantasies.

00:25:43.260 Speaking of crimes and

00:25:45.220 fantasies, Jussie Smollett

00:25:46.960 is back in the news.

00:25:47.900 How's that for a segue?

00:25:48.920 There's a new report out

00:25:50.060 that Jussie Smollett,

00:25:51.780 apparently, this is a

00:25:53.320 little not safe for work,

00:25:54.780 Jussie Smollett went to a 0.99

00:25:57.540 gay bathhouse in Chicago 0.84

00:25:58.920 with his alleged attacker 1.00

00:26:01.240 and had sex with him, 0.86

00:26:03.040 which is obviously a little 0.99

00:26:05.280 strange because Jussie 1.00

00:26:06.440 Smollett attacked himself

00:26:07.660 and it reminds me of

00:26:09.560 Woody Allen's famous line, 0.90

00:26:11.060 not to knock masturbation 0.99

00:26:12.700 because it is sex with 0.99

00:26:13.680 someone you love. 0.94

00:26:15.740 I guess what the article

00:26:17.320 is referring to and the

00:26:18.580 news report is referring to

00:26:20.580 is not that Smollett had

00:26:23.080 sex with his attacker

00:26:23.980 because he was his own 0.97

00:26:24.880 attacker, but that he

00:26:26.060 apparently had sex with 0.98

00:26:26.940 the guy who he paid to 0.98

00:26:28.620 pretend to be his attacker.

00:26:30.600 They had a long-standing

00:26:31.460 relationship.

00:26:32.640 They went to this gay 1.00

00:26:34.200 bathhouse and all of this 0.99

00:26:37.240 is very possibly going to

00:26:38.540 be subpoenaed in Jussie

00:26:40.400 Smollett's upcoming trial

00:26:41.540 on charges of

00:26:42.840 disorderly conduct.

00:26:46.660 People are getting a little

00:26:47.620 lonely in this epidemic.

00:26:49.400 Okay, speaking of self-love,

00:26:51.720 people are getting a little

00:26:52.660 bit lonely.

00:26:53.580 There's a study that just

00:26:54.440 came out.

00:26:54.820 Four in ten Americans right

00:26:55.840 now are lonelier than ever

00:26:57.880 before.

00:26:59.340 A survey of 1,055 Americans

00:27:02.040 asked respondents to answer

00:27:03.520 this question, how is the

00:27:04.700 coronavirus affecting you

00:27:06.300 personally?

00:27:07.700 And actually more than

00:27:08.560 four in ten, 44% of them

00:27:09.940 said that they are now

00:27:11.120 feeling lonelier than ever

00:27:12.320 before.

00:27:12.880 Another unintended or

00:27:14.520 unfortunate consequence of

00:27:17.060 this coronavirus shutdown.

00:27:19.880 Maybe it's not intended,

00:27:20.940 but anybody with two brain

00:27:21.900 cells to rub together

00:27:22.640 could tell.

00:27:23.400 Obviously, people are going

00:27:24.240 to be lonely if you

00:27:25.020 imprison them in their 0.99

00:27:26.220 apartments for months at a

00:27:27.200 time.

00:27:29.100 This has effects on society.

00:27:31.380 It will lead to more

00:27:32.440 suicides.

00:27:33.000 It will lead to more

00:27:34.120 depression.

00:27:34.760 It will lead to more

00:27:36.580 drug abuse.

00:27:38.700 It also is a symptom of an

00:27:42.660 atomized, lonely, isolated

00:27:44.500 culture.

00:27:45.860 A lot of people, especially

00:27:47.880 young people, who would 1.00

00:27:49.560 have been married in decades

00:27:50.680 past, are not married right

00:27:52.160 now.

00:27:52.400 They don't have, forget about

00:27:53.960 marriage, they don't even 1.00

00:27:54.700 have support systems of their

00:27:55.800 own family or their own

00:27:56.800 local community or strong

00:27:58.540 friendships that they might

00:27:59.540 have had in decades past.

00:28:00.540 People across demographics,

00:28:02.900 across ages, are isolated,

00:28:05.280 not just because the

00:28:06.120 government is forcing them

00:28:06.940 to stay in their homes, but

00:28:08.200 because of their own

00:28:08.960 behaviors.

00:28:10.740 There's a kind of paradox

00:28:12.520 that comes with this, or a

00:28:13.660 kind of contradiction that

00:28:14.640 comes with this, because we

00:28:17.780 have a culture now where

00:28:18.720 people are sleeping with a 0.69

00:28:20.380 lot of different people.

00:28:21.180 That's more socially

00:28:21.800 acceptable, and yet they're

00:28:24.060 even lonelier.

00:28:25.480 The key to this is an

00:28:27.080 article that was in New York

00:28:27.960 Magazine yesterday.

00:28:28.720 What it's like to isolate

00:28:30.900 with your girlfriend and her

00:28:32.920 other boyfriend.

00:28:36.560 Yikes.

00:28:37.080 I encourage you to read it.

00:28:38.220 It's like the saddest and

00:28:40.540 funniest article I've read in

00:28:42.180 weeks.

00:28:43.220 I don't know which it is.

00:28:44.100 I think it's both at the

00:28:44.760 same time.

00:28:45.740 But once you get past laughing

00:28:47.700 at this poor guy, and by the

00:28:48.880 way, I feel sorry for every

00:28:50.320 single person in this scenario,

00:28:52.340 but there's actually something

00:28:53.600 profound at the end of the

00:28:55.640 article.

00:28:55.940 So it's an interview with

00:28:57.560 this guy who hosts a podcast

00:28:59.380 called The Man Whore Podcast.

00:29:01.340 I guess everybody's got a

00:29:02.120 podcast these days.

00:29:03.420 And he's staying at his

00:29:05.780 girlfriend's apartment that

00:29:07.340 she has with her other

00:29:08.360 boyfriend, and they're like

00:29:09.320 sharing the girlfriend, and

00:29:10.780 it's very creepy and weird.

00:29:14.420 Then once you get past all the

00:29:16.140 effeminacy and sadness, he gets

00:29:19.940 to his line, which shows you a

00:29:21.520 kind of selfishness here.

00:29:22.520 He says, there's part of me

00:29:23.820 that's relieved that Megan has

00:29:25.000 another person here, because

00:29:26.040 then I don't have to be

00:29:27.840 everything to her.

00:29:28.900 I don't have to give her all

00:29:29.940 the attention that's needed.

00:29:31.000 I don't have to give her all

00:29:32.200 of the cuddles that are

00:29:33.140 needed, because she has

00:29:34.220 another partner in general.

00:29:35.580 That's the really cool thing

00:29:36.800 about polyamory.

00:29:38.300 I don't feel the pressure of

00:29:39.540 being everything for someone.

00:29:41.880 Wow, what an amazing line

00:29:42.880 that is.

00:29:43.560 I don't feel the pressure of

00:29:44.720 being everything for someone.

00:29:46.180 And in a more stressful time

00:29:47.320 like this, it's a relief to

00:29:48.280 know that if I need to have

00:29:49.400 some alone time, she's good

00:29:51.140 with that.

00:29:51.840 And if she does have a need,

00:29:53.420 she can tap somebody else, 1.00

00:29:55.840 so to speak. 1.00

00:29:57.300 Yuck, gross, sad, pathetic. 1.00

00:30:02.460 The flaw in this guy's 1.00

00:30:04.680 reasoning is this error that

00:30:09.360 we have in our society.

00:30:10.520 We believe, as the society has

00:30:12.500 become more materialistic, that

00:30:14.520 the way to have a good,

00:30:16.800 fulfilling, happy life is to

00:30:18.320 pursue our own desires and to

00:30:20.440 pursue our own appetites.

00:30:21.720 Forget about all that old

00:30:23.340 timey stuff that restrains your

00:30:25.280 desires and tells you that you

00:30:27.200 can't do everything you want to

00:30:28.400 do whenever you want to do it.

00:30:30.080 Get rid of that, man.

00:30:31.260 Break free.

00:30:32.020 Liberate yourself.

00:30:33.160 And then if you have a

00:30:34.680 girlfriend and she's got three 1.00

00:30:36.060 boyfriends and then you've got

00:30:37.440 six girlfriends, that'll be so

00:30:38.680 good because you don't have

00:30:40.400 responsibility.

00:30:41.220 This is the mistake they're

00:30:42.680 making.

00:30:43.240 They think that responsibility

00:30:44.320 makes you unhappy and a lack of

00:30:47.200 accountability makes you really

00:30:49.100 happy.

00:30:49.400 But actually, that's not true.

00:30:50.940 I know it seems true.

00:30:52.200 That's what every young person

00:30:53.140 has ever thought, who resists

00:30:54.620 marriage, who resists commitment,

00:30:55.960 who resists getting a job.

00:30:57.140 But actually, nobody is

00:30:58.620 gratified when they go home and

00:31:00.440 look at porn and stuff their 1.00

00:31:01.920 faces and drink too much and lie 1.00

00:31:03.880 on the couch and don't accomplish

00:31:05.120 anything.

00:31:05.620 That makes you depressed.

00:31:06.920 That makes you sad. 1.00

00:31:08.020 Makes you into a loser. 0.99

00:31:09.920 If, however, you give of 0.99

00:31:11.940 yourself, you sacrifice some of

00:31:13.280 yourself, you care about other

00:31:14.400 people, you do things that you

00:31:15.440 don't want to do because it's the

00:31:16.480 right thing to do, you take on a

00:31:18.760 job, you take on the

00:31:20.240 responsibilities of a family, it

00:31:22.760 seems like that would make you

00:31:23.760 less happy.

00:31:24.340 Actually, it makes you much more

00:31:25.360 gratified in life.

00:31:26.320 There is a phenomenon that I've

00:31:27.940 just learned about called

00:31:30.700 OnlyFans.

00:31:32.200 Have you heard about this?

00:31:33.780 OnlyFans is a level of

00:31:36.500 pornography, a level of

00:31:39.800 debauchery that I'm very

00:31:40.960 grateful that I've never been

00:31:42.600 exposed to.

00:31:43.400 Of all the debauchery I've been

00:31:44.360 exposed to, somehow I was able to

00:31:46.060 avoid that one.

00:31:48.620 OnlyFans is this website where

00:31:50.300 you log on and you, you have to

00:31:53.380 pay like 10 or 20 bucks a month to

00:31:56.060 subscribe to a person who is a

00:31:58.440 homemade porn store.

00:32:00.340 Someone, there's no, it's the total

00:32:02.020 democratization of porn.

00:32:03.440 No more gatekeepers.

00:32:04.840 The girls log on and they say, I'm

00:32:06.260 going to become an OnlyFan

00:32:07.300 performer.

00:32:08.560 And then the guys log on and they

00:32:09.900 pay her 10, 20, however much per

00:32:11.620 month.

00:32:12.480 And you get access to photos and

00:32:15.420 some, some are very banal, right?

00:32:16.760 Just updates about their day.

00:32:18.380 For some of these girls, they don't 0.99

00:32:20.340 even take their clothes off.

00:32:22.600 They, you, they kind of racy

00:32:24.060 pictures, but you don't, they don't

00:32:25.380 take their clothes off.

00:32:26.280 It's, it's actually that you're

00:32:29.340 paying not for the naked photos.

00:32:30.960 You're paying for the semblance of a

00:32:33.500 relationship.

00:32:33.980 How sad is that?

00:32:37.180 Because obviously there are a zillion

00:32:38.660 naked ladies on the internet. 1.00

00:32:39.900 You can look on the internet for free 0.93

00:32:42.180 without putting down a credit card

00:32:43.340 and see anything that you want to

00:32:46.240 see.

00:32:46.500 Any sick thing that you can imagine,

00:32:48.520 I promise you it's out there.

00:32:50.060 This is one of the laws of the

00:32:51.160 internet.

00:32:51.980 And yet people are paying money to

00:32:54.100 see oftentimes not naked women. 0.99

00:32:56.620 And what they're paying for is to

00:32:58.460 feel as though they've got some kind

00:33:00.520 of relationship with this person.

00:33:04.260 That is the height of decadence.

00:33:06.480 That is the height of debauchery.

00:33:08.920 It's, it's probably of all the dark,

00:33:11.080 weird kinds of porn on the internet.

00:33:12.140 This might be the darkest one

00:33:13.900 because it, it, it reflects a society

00:33:18.700 that's now so isolated, that's become

00:33:20.820 so alienated from itself that it can't

00:33:24.140 even have a normal platonic relationship

00:33:27.320 or a normal flirtatious relationship.

00:33:30.520 You actually have to pay for that.

00:33:32.120 Now you don't need to pay to see weird 0.98

00:33:34.300 sex. 0.94

00:33:34.780 You do have to pay to feel any human

00:33:37.680 connection.

00:33:38.680 That is not a problem of isolation

00:33:40.560 only in quarantine.

00:33:41.380 That is a much bigger problem.

00:33:42.620 It's going to last longer than the

00:33:45.180 coronavirus does.

00:33:46.140 That is for sure.

00:33:47.540 Okay.

00:33:47.720 We got to get to the mailbag.

00:33:48.840 First though, I've got an excellent

00:33:57.660 Two, where'd that go?

00:34:02.280 Two, much, much better.

00:34:05.440 This is very important because if

00:34:06.720 you're Joe Biden, you're probably

00:34:08.440 tumbler.

00:34:08.860 You're just not going to remember

00:34:09.640 where you placed it.

00:34:10.340 But if you have two, then you can

00:34:43.900 I'm going to fly through this mailbag

00:34:46.360 because as usual, I'm running late.

00:34:48.420 From Matt, austere religious podcaster

00:34:50.960 and Lord of the Covfefe.

00:34:52.340 You seem to be a student of both Dante

00:34:54.500 and ancient Rome.

00:34:56.000 As such, my question involves both.

00:34:57.440 Namely, does Brutus deserve his place

00:34:59.580 in Dante's hell alongside Judas?

00:35:02.800 Thanks for the great show and keep up

00:35:04.380 the good work.

00:35:05.220 Came for Ben, stayed for Michael.

00:35:07.500 Yes, Brutus is the guy who was friends

00:35:09.940 with Caesar who murders Julius Caesar.

00:35:12.800 And in Dante, he's represented in the

00:35:14.560 absolute lowest pit of hell, which is a

00:35:17.100 lake of ice in which Satan is trapped. 0.99

00:35:19.480 Satan is a three-headed monster. 0.98

00:35:20.800 And in his teeth, in each of his jaws, 0.98

00:35:24.740 he's chewing Brutus and Cassius, who killed

00:35:26.880 Caesar, and Judas, who killed Christ. 0.99

00:35:30.800 Brutus does deserve his place in hell.

00:35:33.700 Brutus is sometimes considered a good person

00:35:38.000 because he tried to stop the tyranny of Caesar

00:35:40.680 and he tried to defend the Republic.

00:35:43.180 The reason that Brutus deserves his place

00:35:46.520 in the lowest level of hell is that he

00:35:48.040 betrayed his benefactor.

00:35:49.320 He betrayed his friend.

00:35:51.160 And that is the worst possible crime

00:35:53.660 you can commit.

00:35:54.820 You know, in Dante's hell, you got the early

00:35:56.840 kind of fleshly sins.

00:35:58.300 Those are in the upper layers of hell.

00:36:00.040 It's not quite as painful.

00:36:01.960 And then you get down lower and lower

00:36:03.060 to the worst sins.

00:36:04.060 And the worst sins you get to are the sins

00:36:06.360 of fraud, are the sins of betrayal.

00:36:09.020 They're the worst things that you can

00:36:10.560 possibly do.

00:36:11.480 And the people who engage in fraud

00:36:14.720 and betrayal, for instance, of their benefactors,

00:36:17.340 they deserve the absolute worst punishments

00:36:19.820 that there are. 0.98

00:36:20.540 From Joshua.

00:36:21.500 Michael, my state of Minnesota issued a lockdown

00:36:23.400 and extended it until May.

00:36:26.020 Although I do believe in public health

00:36:27.620 as an exception to normal government rules,

00:36:30.700 how long can a lockdown go on

00:36:32.700 before we reach 1984 levels of government intrusion?

00:36:35.960 I love the podcast.

00:36:37.400 This long.

00:36:38.260 That's how long.

00:36:38.800 Exactly this long.

00:36:40.300 And now it's gone too far.

00:36:42.480 Okay, when you're arresting pastors

00:36:43.860 but letting criminals out onto the street

00:36:46.040 so they can go murder people, 0.80

00:36:47.120 which is actually happening,

00:36:48.760 you have gone too far.

00:36:50.000 When the models that you were using

00:36:51.840 were all shown to be incorrect

00:36:53.640 and then you respond to that by doubling down

00:36:56.340 and adding more draconian measures

00:36:58.460 and threatening to fine or jail people

00:37:00.880 for not following those measures

00:37:02.620 like is happening here in Los Angeles,

00:37:04.280 you have gone too far.

00:37:06.880 These people have been overstepping their bounds.

00:37:08.380 When the police come out

00:37:09.280 and say you no longer have a First Amendment right

00:37:11.760 to protest because protesting

00:37:13.580 is a non-essential activity.

00:37:15.060 The government has gone too far

00:37:16.720 and now is the time to push back.

00:37:18.500 From Michelle,

00:37:19.180 can you speak to the report

00:37:20.780 that 3,700 deaths were just added

00:37:22.440 to the death count in New York

00:37:23.600 without testing for coronavirus?

00:37:25.240 How is this allowed to happen?

00:37:26.480 Can someone ask Dr. Birx or Fauci,

00:37:28.360 how can we stop this?

00:37:29.820 That did happen in New York just the other day.

00:37:32.760 Deaths that had obviously already happened,

00:37:35.180 which did not include a test for coronavirus,

00:37:37.320 were added to the death count in New York.

00:37:38.940 Now, the defense of this is

00:37:40.760 that perhaps there weren't tests available,

00:37:42.560 they weren't able to determine with certainty

00:37:44.240 whether or not these people had coronavirus,

00:37:46.200 but it seems likely that they did,

00:37:47.460 so they're going to add it to the death count.

00:37:49.240 The argument against this is,

00:37:50.580 this is BS to pad the death numbers

00:37:52.500 and to take a more liberal counting view,

00:37:54.940 to use Dr. Birx's own terms.

00:37:58.140 Coronavirus is very difficult

00:37:59.340 to take a look at the deaths

00:38:00.660 because the victims are so overwhelmingly old

00:38:03.860 and they so overwhelmingly have comorbidities.

00:38:06.860 And so let's say you die of a heart attack.

00:38:08.540 Did you die of a heart attack

00:38:09.380 or did you die of coronavirus?

00:38:11.120 Let's say you have stage four lung cancer

00:38:12.980 and you've got three weeks to live,

00:38:14.780 but you die one week into that

00:38:16.460 because you also have coronavirus.

00:38:18.040 Did you die from coronavirus

00:38:19.240 or from the lung cancer?

00:38:20.420 Most of us would say the lung cancer,

00:38:21.680 but it is complicated

00:38:22.820 because the coronavirus hastened your death.

00:38:26.500 Increasingly, all the politicians

00:38:27.640 are going to be taking the broader view

00:38:30.060 of what counts as a coronavirus death.

00:38:32.700 That, I think, has very little to do

00:38:34.260 with medical science,

00:38:35.080 has a lot to do with politics

00:38:36.340 because they've got to defend their decision

00:38:38.580 to shut down the global economy

00:38:39.840 and throw 20 million people out of work.

00:38:42.340 Nobody is going to want to turn that around

00:38:43.900 because all of the political incentives

00:38:45.780 for these politicians

00:38:46.900 are to have the larger defensible number

00:38:51.240 rather than the smaller,

00:38:53.460 more conservative number.

00:38:54.580 From Michael.

00:38:55.080 Hi, Michael.

00:38:55.840 What is your perspective on human nature?

00:38:57.580 Oh, just that small topic?

00:38:58.720 Does your view primarily stem

00:39:00.920 from religious beliefs, philosophy, or both?

00:39:04.220 How do these views shape your ideas

00:39:05.920 on the role of government?

00:39:07.160 Personally, I find myself agreeing

00:39:08.520 with John Calvin's idea of total depravity

00:39:10.660 and with Thomas Hobbes

00:39:12.240 that people will always act in self-interest.

00:39:14.440 Thanks.

00:39:16.420 Well, I don't think we can just narrowly say

00:39:20.140 my view of human nature comes from philosophy

00:39:21.800 or my view comes from religion.

00:39:23.140 My view of human nature comes from my eyes

00:39:24.960 and my brain, okay?

00:39:25.980 I see people, I interact with people,

00:39:28.340 I talk to people,

00:39:29.160 and I think about how that works

00:39:32.440 and I try to make sense of that.

00:39:33.560 That's what we all do.

00:39:36.280 I do not agree with John Calvin's view of human nature.

00:39:39.380 John Calvin's view of human nature

00:39:40.560 is called total depravity.

00:39:43.300 It's the idea that human beings

00:39:44.520 are totally, utterly, completely depraved.

00:39:49.080 So I don't agree with that.

00:39:50.680 I don't believe that is true.

00:39:53.340 If you do agree with that,

00:39:54.660 and as you say, you agree with Thomas Hobbes

00:39:56.680 and other political thinkers along that line,

00:39:58.680 then certainly you could not support

00:40:00.220 the American government or self-government 0.93

00:40:02.160 because people are totally depraved.

00:40:03.540 So they're absolutely unqualified 0.98

00:40:05.020 to govern themselves.

00:40:07.400 Now, on the other hand,

00:40:08.260 I also don't support the bright-eyed,

00:40:10.560 bushy-tailed, idealistic view of human nature

00:40:12.460 that human nature is mostly for 99% good.

00:40:17.580 You know, obviously there's some bad things now and again,

00:40:19.600 but really we're all just fine and dandy.

00:40:21.840 I don't believe that is true either.

00:40:24.100 I support the middle view of things,

00:40:26.620 which is that man is made in the image of God,

00:40:30.300 which is good,

00:40:31.540 and man is fallen through the abuse of his free will,

00:40:35.180 which is bad.

00:40:36.880 I believe in original sin.

00:40:39.100 I think that sin and death pervade the world,

00:40:41.680 and all of us commit sins,

00:40:44.220 and we can commit very, very bad sins,

00:40:46.220 and we can look really wrong and bad and perverted.

00:40:49.160 Also, we have a goodness that comes to us,

00:40:53.200 which is why human beings obviously don't only act in self-interest.

00:40:56.740 When an old lady is about to get hit by a bus, 0.99

00:40:58.820 and a young person runs out there

00:41:01.220 and goes to sacrifice himself for her,

00:41:03.840 which situations like this happen all of the time,

00:41:07.140 genuine selflessness,

00:41:08.560 that cannot be explained by men always acting in their own self-interest.

00:41:14.020 So that's just a sort of narrow, I think, cartoonish ideological view.

00:41:18.600 The real answer, as is often the case,

00:41:20.420 is in that middle way,

00:41:22.060 which takes into account both of those things.

00:41:24.500 You could see the same thing when it comes to questions of grace and free will.

00:41:29.600 Also, I guess you could bring John Calvin in for this as well.

00:41:32.660 Do we not have any free will at all?

00:41:34.960 Everything is totally predestined and predetermined,

00:41:37.020 and forget just John Calvin,

00:41:40.280 even these Silicon Valley nincompoops

00:41:42.100 who say that free will is merely an illusion

00:41:44.120 and we're just kidding ourselves.

00:41:45.580 Is that the case?

00:41:47.560 Well, on one hand, that seems false.

00:41:49.500 But on the other extreme,

00:41:50.680 is it the case that there's no such thing as grace,

00:41:52.660 no such thing as providence?

00:41:53.940 The only hope we have is to save ourselves

00:41:55.920 and to act according to our own will?

00:41:58.460 No, that's obviously not true either.

00:42:00.800 The real answer is this middle way,

00:42:02.420 which is that will and grace,

00:42:04.300 not the 90s TV show,

00:42:05.860 but the facts of existence,

00:42:09.100 will and grace exist together in a mystery

00:42:11.860 that is sort of like two people dancing a waltz.

00:42:15.140 From Jack,

00:42:15.880 Senor Covfefe,

00:42:17.200 my wife is pregnant with our first child

00:42:18.740 and I refuse to send him to public school,

00:42:20.540 so one of us will have to stay home.

00:42:21.980 Her work will pay off her student loans,

00:42:23.700 so she has to stay there.

00:42:25.360 My problem is that I don't want her

00:42:26.980 to have the responsibility of being the main income.

00:42:28.920 Is there a problem with me staying home?

00:42:30.460 I still want to work even if it's a night job.

00:42:33.460 Well, I don't think there's a problem necessarily.

00:42:35.880 It sounds like you think there's a problem

00:42:37.200 because you want to work

00:42:38.580 and if you want to work, you should work.

00:42:40.560 You're not going to have to worry about this problem

00:42:42.180 for what, five years until kindergarten?

00:42:44.540 I guess now people send their kids to school,

00:42:46.640 quote unquote,

00:42:47.180 when they're like six months old,

00:42:48.340 but that's ridiculous, right?

00:42:49.760 That's just a way to make you feel better 0.94

00:42:51.160 about sending a kid to daycare.

00:42:52.840 So, you know,

00:42:53.900 you've got a little bit of time here, right?

00:42:56.440 It's so funny.

00:42:57.060 I mean, when I was in school,

00:42:58.060 I went to kindergarten

00:42:59.680 and my father didn't even go to kindergarten.

00:43:01.720 He went to, he just started in first grade.

00:43:03.280 Then when I was a kid, we started in kindergarten.

00:43:05.000 I didn't go to preschool or anything.

00:43:06.640 Now kids, it seems like they start going to school

00:43:08.540 at one year old or, you know, sometime around there,

00:43:11.260 but you don't need to do that.

00:43:13.300 So maybe someone stays home for the first few years

00:43:15.680 and maybe you work a night job.

00:43:17.600 Maybe you work a job that can be done from home.

00:43:19.820 One thing we're learning from quarantine

00:43:21.020 is there are a lot of jobs that you can do from home,

00:43:22.920 not just e-commerce,

00:43:24.780 which is the most obvious one,

00:43:26.100 or not just, you know,

00:43:29.080 certain, just many other jobs

00:43:30.880 in many different sectors

00:43:31.680 and many different industries.

00:43:34.160 Now we're finding out you can do things

00:43:36.100 that we thought previously

00:43:36.880 were not possible to do from home,

00:43:38.880 from home.

00:43:39.440 Things like education.

00:43:40.900 There was online learning,

00:43:41.880 but the vast majority of education

00:43:43.180 happened in schools.

00:43:44.240 Now all education is being done online.

00:43:46.260 That's probably going to transform

00:43:47.140 that sector as well.

00:43:48.380 So I would try to get creative about it

00:43:49.800 because I agree with you.

00:43:50.940 Mankind is meant to work

00:43:53.000 and raising a kid is a lot of work,

00:43:55.080 but if you're a little bit more traditionally minded

00:43:57.800 and you think it's odd for a father

00:43:59.480 to stay home all the time

00:44:01.140 and not do anything else

00:44:02.120 other than raise kids,

00:44:03.500 then that's fine.

00:44:04.780 I would pursue that.

00:44:05.580 You don't want to get into a situation

00:44:06.720 where you resent your wife

00:44:07.720 or resent your kid

00:44:08.580 because you're doing something

00:44:10.300 that feels totally unnatural to you.

00:44:12.700 From Nick,

00:44:13.140 on all access,

00:44:13.880 you basically summed up yoga

00:44:15.000 as giving the devil a lap dance.

00:44:16.960 Did I?

00:44:17.760 That sounds more pithy

00:44:19.560 than what I said,

00:44:20.300 but I'll go with it.

00:44:21.220 Other than the annoying amount of time

00:44:22.640 that those who do yoga talk about it,

00:44:24.720 as Christians,

00:44:25.480 what is so wrong

00:44:26.160 in doing awkward stretches?

00:44:27.440 Thanks.

00:44:27.860 The problem isn't the awkward stretches.

00:44:29.440 The problem is that

00:44:30.460 yoga is a spiritual practice.

00:44:32.560 It's a Hindu liturgy.

00:44:34.320 And that's why

00:44:35.040 you always hear yoga teachers,

00:44:36.620 they're not just talking

00:44:37.340 about the weird stretches,

00:44:38.320 they're talking about energy

00:44:39.520 and mantras

00:44:41.000 and, you know,

00:44:42.560 the solar plexus

00:44:43.740 and when you get

00:44:46.140 to the really weird ones,

00:44:47.240 they talk about like crystals

00:44:48.380 and things like that.

00:44:49.260 And it's a new agey,

00:44:51.660 weird religion.

00:44:53.340 So if you want to do stretches,

00:44:54.640 go do Pilates

00:44:55.240 or just stretch.

00:44:56.460 I think that's a good idea.

00:44:57.180 I've done yoga in my life

00:44:58.780 and the stretching

00:44:59.940 feels pretty good.

00:45:00.980 But the weird religious symbolism

00:45:04.260 and chants

00:45:06.020 and mantras

00:45:06.560 that go along with it

00:45:07.340 don't feel very good

00:45:08.420 if you don't happen

00:45:09.240 to be a part of that religion.

00:45:10.660 So I would avoid

00:45:12.800 pairing up those two things

00:45:15.120 and just go for a stretch.

00:45:16.520 Stretches are a little less sexy

00:45:18.300 and a little less hip

00:45:19.100 and less cool

00:45:19.640 but it will do exactly

00:45:20.860 the same thing

00:45:21.600 for your body

00:45:22.980 and might have a better effect

00:45:24.740 on your soul.

00:45:26.620 Okay.

00:45:27.320 We know we have

00:45:27.960 so many more questions

00:45:28.820 but we're out of time

00:45:30.520 as always.

00:45:31.120 I'm going to be filling in

00:45:31.640 for the Ben Shapiro radio show though

00:45:32.960 so you will get

00:45:33.540 hours and hours more

00:45:36.680 We're going to be taking

00:45:37.220 your calls there as well

00:45:38.120 so tune in for when

00:45:38.860 that's going to be.

00:45:39.920 And in the meantime,

00:45:40.500 I'm Michael Knowles.

00:46:41.080 You know,

00:46:41.380 the Matt Walsh show,

00:46:42.240 it's not just another show

00:46:43.460 about politics.

00:46:44.740 I think there are enough

00:46:45.340 of those already out there.

00:46:46.660 We talk about culture

00:46:47.840 because culture drives politics

00:46:49.840 and it drives everything else.

00:46:51.420 So my main focuses are

00:46:52.980 life,

00:46:54.520 family,

00:46:55.280 faith.

00:46:56.040 Those are fundamental

00:46:57.020 and that's what this show is about.

00:46:58.760 I hope you'll give it a listen.

00:47:00.080 Keep going.

00:47:02.840 Take care.

00:47:04.200 Bye.

00:47:04.980 Thank you.
