The Michael Knowles Show - Ep. 576 - Dismantling The Whole System

00:00:00.000 Freshman representative Ilhan Omar has admitted that the recent protests and riots and rebellion

00:00:08.580 and revolution, it's not just about police brutality. It's not just about reforming the

00:00:15.780 criminal justice system. Actually, what it is about, in her own words, got to give her points

00:00:20.960 for honesty, is overturning, dismantling the entire system. As long as our economy

00:00:29.740 and political systems prioritize profit, without considering who is profiting, who is being

00:00:38.580 shut out, we will perpetuate this inequality. So we cannot stop at criminal justice system.

00:00:46.620 We must begin the work of dismantling the whole system of oppression wherever we find it.

00:00:53.820 So she wants to dismantle the entire system of oppression wherever we find it. That's what 1.00

00:00:58.500 gives her the out to pretend she's just talking about some narrow thing. But she's already said

00:01:03.320 she's talking about the U.S. economy and political systems. It's not just some little tweak here,

00:01:11.140 some little problem with the system. She wants to overturn the whole damn thing. And believe it or 0.98

00:01:17.860 not, that's not even the most radical thing one of these lefties said yesterday. We'll get into

00:01:21.700 all of it. I'm Michael Knowles. This is Michael Knowles Show. There's a big fight here over which

00:01:33.240 system to dismantle. Someone is going to dismantle some system. First though, I want to thank our

00:01:40.620 friends over at Thompson cigars. I love Thompson cigars. I have smoked Thompson cigars since I was

00:01:50.400 probably too young to admit on this program because it was not exactly of the legal age at that time.

00:01:56.340 And I smoked a Thompson cigar yesterday. They're the best. They just have every great brand that you

00:02:01.000 want. That's what Thompson does. They've been around forever. They've been in business for over a

00:02:07.100 century. And especially these days with everyone spending a lot more time around the house,

00:02:11.160 if you're anything like me, you are looking for ways to stay entertained. And Thompson cigar has hours

00:02:17.380 of entertainment just to click away. I love these guys. They're simply the best. They have over 12,000

00:02:22.160 different cigar options available with new in-demand brands added weekly. So anything, you know, the old

00:02:28.320 classics or the new boutique brands that are coming out, you can get it from Thompson. One thing I love

00:02:33.460 too, they do these mixes. So you order a sampler. They just sent me a great sampler. I smoked one

00:02:40.140 yesterday, one of the Liga Privada cigars. But some of my other favorite brands are Oliva,

00:02:44.220 My Father, Padron, Davidoff. There's just really great stuff at all different price points.

00:02:51.000 Thompson continues to be the number one choice for premium cigars in the U.S. Right now,

00:02:54.720 Thompson is offering 15% off orders over $75 or 20% off orders over $99. To take advantage of these

00:03:01.760 incredible savings, you go to ThompsonCigar.com and use promo code Knolls when you're ready to check

00:03:06.780 out. That website is Thompson, T-H-O-M-P-S-O-N cigar.com. Use promo code Knolls and tweet me if you want me to

00:03:13.440 give you advice on which stogies to pick. At least Ilhan Omar is honest. You got to give her 1.00

00:03:22.160 points for honesty. I bet there are a lot of Democrats right now in the House and who are

00:03:25.300 running for office who are not admitting that their real goal is to dismantle the entire system.

00:03:31.380 And yet that has been the goal of left-wingers, at least on the hard left, since at least the 1960s,

00:03:37.420 maybe even earlier than that. The issue here is not even that conservatives should be so

00:03:43.840 shocked and outraged that Ilhan Omar wants to dismantle our system. We already know she wants 1.00

00:03:47.920 to do that. We already know the left has embraced Black Lives Matter, which is an openly avowedly 0.98

00:03:52.020 Marxist institution that, that doesn't just want to destroy the police station or the fire department.

00:03:57.600 They want to destroy the quote Western prescribed nuclear family. So we shouldn't be surprised. 0.97

00:04:01.860 The reality that we've got to face is that one of two systems will be dismantled.

00:04:09.160 Okay. And part of the reason that this is getting so heated up right now is because of Trump.

00:04:14.280 Because Trump is actually presenting a threat to the system. The one system that could be dismantled,

00:04:20.640 if Ilhan Omar has her way, is the American national system. Our system, not just of criminal justice,

00:04:28.680 but our economy, they're trying to totally upend that with legislation like the Green New Deal, 0.54

00:04:33.820 for instance, $93 trillion, creates jobs guarantee programs, creates massive redistribution of wealth,

00:04:39.020 creates reparations for slavery, creates, I mean, totally upends the system. But, but also a cultural

00:04:45.100 revolution too, which dismantles all of our heroes, all of our traditions, tears down statues, even

00:04:50.400 of our founding fathers. That system could be dismantled or the globalized liberal world order 0.65

00:04:58.800 system could be dismantled, right? You call it whatever, globalism, globalization, neoliberalism,

00:05:05.120 whatever, whatever you want to call it. That's what Trump is threatening. He ran on that. He said,

00:05:09.340 we've got to end globalism. Those two systems are on a collision course. And so now it's getting

00:05:16.280 hotter and hotter. People want to tear those down. Trump's been very honest about wanting to tear

00:05:21.520 down globalization. And Ilhan Omar is being honest about wanting to tear down the American national

00:05:27.920 system. And the left is lining up basically behind Omar. They might talk a little softer than her, 0.98

00:05:33.300 but that's who they're backing. And the right had better line up behind Donald Trump. We should be

00:05:39.680 honest about that. When we talk about justice, when we talk about compromise, when we talk about

00:05:43.180 cancel culture, okay? Because we are not on an even playing field here. I'll give you an example.

00:05:51.260 Ilhan Omar, an elected US representative has said she wants to dismantle the system. I don't know why

00:05:57.980 we still allow her in Congress. I don't know why we still allow her in the United States. 1.00

00:06:03.540 It's an outrageous statement to make, and we should kick her out. If you don't like this country and you 0.97

00:06:08.400 want to completely overturn it, then go and get out. We don't want you here. Go away.

00:06:12.080 We want you if you like America and you want to help build America up. If you want to tear America

00:06:15.780 down, go away. Bye-bye. See ya. But her comment was not even the craziest comment 0.66

00:06:21.960 made yesterday on the internet. That comment, I guess it was made a couple of days ago,

00:06:27.940 comes from the football player Deshaun Jackson, who quoted Hitler. He didn't really quote Hitler

00:06:34.560 because it was a fake Hitler quote, which is even worse, I think, than a real Hitler quote,

00:06:38.920 because it's, it's, it's like a dishonest Hitler quote. But what he's, what he said,

00:06:43.480 Hitler said is, because the white Jews knows that the Negroes are the real children of Israel 0.98

00:06:50.020 and to keep America's secret, the Jews will blackmail America. 0.96

00:06:56.140 Now, the, this idea that this fake Hitler quote is espousing, that Deshaun Jackson is espousing,

00:07:03.180 is one that has become popular in certain black nationalist circles, which is this idea that 0.90

00:07:07.840 black people are the real Jews and the Jews are the fake Jews. And it's a sort of odd theory. 0.85

00:07:15.740 I've, I've spoken to people who preach about this sort of thing on the street and it's always an

00:07:19.420 entertaining time, but not very convincing. An incendiary quote for a public figure to make.

00:07:24.380 Finally, he got enough, a little bit of pressure that he apologized, even his apology kind of weak

00:07:33.000 sauce. I just want to, you know, first off, extend an apology on the behalf of me and what I stand for,

00:07:41.160 because, you know, I'm one that's fair and I never want to put any race down or any people down.

00:07:47.080 And, you know, my post was definitely not intended for any, anybody of any race to feel any type of way,

00:07:54.960 especially the Jewish community. When I posted what I posted, I definitely didn't mean it to the extent

00:08:02.860 that you guys take it. And I just want to let you guys know that I'm, you know, very apologetic.

00:08:09.100 And I just want you guys to understand that it never was intended to be, you know, to put any race down

00:08:15.780 or any religion down. You know, I post things on my story all the time. And, you know, I just

00:08:22.580 probably shouldn't have never posted anything that Hitler did because Hitler was a bad person. And I 0.69

00:08:27.520 know that. And, you know, I was just trying to uplift, you know, African-Americans and slavery and, 0.79

00:08:34.260 you know, just enlighten our people.

00:08:37.180 So he did say one true thing in the apology, which is that Hitler was a bad person. 0.76

00:08:43.020 That's so, so big of you to concede that, Deshaun, that Hitler was a bad person. But of course, 0.83

00:08:50.820 nothing else he said makes any sense. What do you, what do you mean? You posted a quote that you

00:08:54.260 thought was from Hitler talking about how the evil white Jews are blackmailing America and they're not 0.99

00:09:00.960 even the real Jews. But you didn't mean that to be offensive toward any group of people or put down 0.98

00:09:06.040 any race of people, right? I mean, that, that's hard to believe that. And then even when he says,

00:09:12.680 I didn't mean it in the way that you're taking it. Well, how do you, it's like our fault. It's

00:09:16.940 people's, the people's fault that we objected to this guy posting a Hitler quote. And then he

00:09:22.340 posted this video apology, which doesn't make any sense and he'll get away with it. It won't matter at

00:09:26.800 all. He will face absolutely no consequences. Do you remember when the Oklahoma state football coach

00:09:32.100 just a few weeks ago had the audacity to be seen in a photograph wearing an OAN shirt,

00:09:40.880 a shirt of his favorite cable news station. And he almost lost his job for that. And the Oklahoma

00:09:46.820 state football team almost fell apart because of that, because that was so outrageous and

00:09:50.540 politically incorrect to watch a cable news channel. That's how he was treated. It was an,

00:09:58.200 it was an international incident practically. And yet Deshaun Jackson talking about how much he

00:10:05.660 admires Hitler with a fake Hitler quote, there, there will be no problem. He'll be fine. He'll 0.97

00:10:10.360 face no consequences. There's a double standard here. Okay. The double standard is political. Now

00:10:18.080 the political question here is a racial one because the Democrats obviously exploit race all the time.

00:10:22.580 So it ties in with that as well, but it is ideological. Don't forget Black Lives Matter is a

00:10:28.100 Marxist organization that uses race, but primarily what they're talking about is not even racial issues.

00:10:35.700 Primarily what they're talking about is old school ideological Marxism. And Terry Cruz actually called

00:10:41.460 this out and the left doesn't want to cover it. We'll get to that in, in one second and we'll get to the,

00:10:46.640 the double standard. But first I got to thank our friends over at LifeLock. You know,

00:10:50.760 it's a very important to protect your information from theft. Cyber criminals are not going to let

00:10:57.100 the COVID-19 crisis stop them from using tax fraud to take what's not theirs. And we are right now in

00:11:02.860 tax season. I know tax season is usually in April, but now the tax deadline was extended to July 15th.

00:11:08.020 There is expected to be a rise in tax related identity fraud. The types of tax related fraud vary,

00:11:12.780 but remember the IRS will, will not contact you directly by email, text message, or other online

00:11:18.160 platforms. Okay. Remember that it's one way to avoid it. LifeLock is a leader in identity theft

00:11:24.300 protection. They detect a wide range of identity threats like your social security number for sale

00:11:28.780 on the dark web. No one can prevent all identity theft or monitor all transactions at all businesses,

00:11:32.600 but LifeLock can see threats that you might miss on your own. Join right now. You can save up to 25%

00:11:39.320 off your first year. And now is the time to join right now. This week, go to LifeLock.com. These

00:11:45.720 are the guys that I trust. LifeLock.com slash Knowles, K-N-A-W-L-E-S. That is LifeLock.com slash Knowles,

00:11:52.660 K-N-A-W-L-E-S. 1.00

00:11:57.420 Deshaun Jackson quotes fake Hitler about how terrible the Jews are. It's all good. The Oklahoma State football 1.00

00:12:04.100 coach wears his cable news shirt. Very, very bad. Terrible, almost loses his job. Another example of

00:12:11.180 this in Contra Costa County, California, the city government permitted a giant Black Lives Matter 0.78

00:12:20.660 mural to be painted on the sidewalk. Think about how offensive this is. I'm not saying that the

00:12:27.580 government doesn't have the right to do this. I'm not saying that Ilhan Omar doesn't have the right

00:12:31.920 to go out and say she hates America and she wants to dismantle the entire system. 1.00

00:12:37.160 Specifically, the political and economic systems of America. I'm not saying they don't have the

00:12:41.220 right to do that, but they shouldn't do that. And we should not tolerate that because Black Lives 1.00

00:12:45.720 Matter is Marxism and we should not permit Marxism to take any sort of hold in our society. But the

00:12:52.120 government does that. And so a couple of citizens decided to take this into their own hands,

00:12:55.860 Nicole Anderson and David Nelson. And they went out and they just painted over the Black Lives Matter

00:13:00.940 sign. If someone, if someone came out onto my sidewalk and painted Marxism is really good, 0.57

00:13:08.240 yay communism, I would be very tempted to paint over that sign as well. And that is exactly what is

00:13:14.460 conveyed by the phrase Black Lives Matter, which as we've talked about, almost ad nauseum,

00:13:19.940 does not mean Black Lives Matter. So they go do this. Maybe they shouldn't have done it. You know, 1.00

00:13:24.580 the city government has the right to commission a mural, even if it's a, a politically insane mural.

00:13:29.620 And what do you think happened to them? They are now being charged with three misdemeanors,

00:13:39.220 including, including a violation of civil rights. Now you might say, okay, they should get some charge

00:13:46.760 for defacing a government thing, or they should get a charge for defacing a mural or violating civil

00:13:52.500 rights because you won't let a Marxist slogan be written on your city streets.

00:14:00.400 Deshaun Jackson gets to go out and quote fake Hitler, no problem, because that is absolutely fine 0.99

00:14:07.800 according to the dictates of the left. Because of who he is and the type of candidates that he supports

00:14:15.660 and the type of ideology he supports, he gets away even with quoting Hitler. No violation of civil

00:14:20.080 rights there. But if you go out and paint over that mural, you are charged with that. This raises

00:14:25.200 questions about cancel culture. Yesterday when I came out and I said that Ilhan Omar has no place in

00:14:29.940 Congress and frankly, no place in America if she wants to overturn our entire system. A lot of people

00:14:37.160 came to me and said, Michael, this is an example of cancel culture. You're just a, you're just a

00:14:41.140 cancel culturer, a canceller on the conservative side. How do I put it? How do I put this bluntly?

00:14:49.040 It is not cancel culture to cancel people who cancel culture. I understand that sounds like

00:14:57.500 kind of confusing. There's this Chesterton phrase. He goes, there's a thought that stops thought and

00:15:03.900 it's the only thought that ought to be stopped. It's, it's part of the reason why I think it's a good

00:15:07.220 idea to have an amendment to permit laws against desecrating the American flag because there is a

00:15:13.380 thought that stops thought. When you use the first amendment to burn the symbol of the country that

00:15:19.360 gives you the first amendment, to burn the symbol of the country that gives you the first amendment,

00:15:24.080 that is incoherent. You are symbolically threatening the very rights that you are invoking.

00:15:33.020 The same thing here with Ilhan Omar in Congress. I'm sure she got elected democratically. I'm sure

00:15:40.680 that she has the right to make her abhorrent and disgusting speech, but it doesn't mean we should

00:15:46.320 tolerate that. Okay. Politics has to have form and substance. So there's the form. Yes, we have the

00:15:52.980 right to say things, but then there's the substance. You ought to say good things. You ought to say correct

00:15:58.020 things. And when you say things that are abhorrent, we have the right to object to those things.

00:16:02.000 That is not what cancel culture is. It's a, it's a subtle distinction, but that's not what cancel

00:16:08.060 culture is. It's not cancel culture to object to things that people sincerely say and do. That is

00:16:14.060 just called culture and politics. Okay. And conservatives for too long have been neutral

00:16:18.920 about many things. We've, we've only talked about the form, not the substance because we're so cowardly. 0.97

00:16:25.560 You know, the left doesn't play by those rules, but the right does. I'm, I think back to Dante.

00:16:30.280 Dante puts the people who remain neutral in the war in heaven. He puts them in hell.

00:16:35.280 They weren't rebels in heaven. They weren't, they weren't fighting on the side of the angels,

00:16:38.680 but they were neutral. Where do they go? They go to hell. What cancel culture is, is more specific.

00:16:44.880 Cancel culture is when you twist what someone says beyond recognition. So you take what someone

00:16:52.860 says and you disingenuously, you cynically pervert what they've said to, to sound like something that

00:17:00.280 mean and that people would not have heard in an ordinary time. And you use that to try to ruin

00:17:04.320 their career. Cancel culture is not accepting a sincere apology. All of us makes mistakes. All

00:17:08.800 of us are sinners and we fall short of the glory of God. So if you make a mistake and you sincerely

00:17:12.840 apologize and you change your behavior, but you, but someone still doesn't accept that apology,

00:17:17.820 that would be cancel culture. Cancel culture is digging up years old, sometimes decades old jokes,

00:17:22.280 just because you don't like some guy. Kevin Hart is going to host the Oscars.

00:17:26.300 And then you dig up some joke from 15 years ago that no one even remembers in a totally different

00:17:31.460 context and a totally different comedy culture. And you just use that to snipe him because you

00:17:35.180 don't like the guy. That's cancel culture. Smashing statues because you get on your high horse and you

00:17:40.000 feel so sanctimonious and so much better than all of your ancestors. Judging them totally outside the

00:17:46.120 context of their own times, that would be cancel culture. And most importantly, and I think this is

00:17:52.100 the key here, letting some people off the hook for the same offense that you would cancel someone else

00:17:59.660 for if they have the right political views or the right skin color or the right sex, that is cancel

00:18:05.320 culture. Cancel culture is a strictly left-wing phenomenon because only the left has the institutional

00:18:13.200 power to cancel people. It's funny. This is sort of like a version of the left's racism argument.

00:18:19.960 The left says only white people can be racist because only white people have the power because

00:18:23.280 there's white supremacy. Well, that's obviously not true. I think we've seen a lot of that this

00:18:26.760 week. There's no such thing as white supremacy. There's no such thing as white privilege or

00:18:30.540 institutional whatever in the way that they're talking about it. However, the left does control

00:18:37.220 the major institutions of America, the mainstream media, Hollywood, big tech, higher education,

00:18:42.140 lower education, administrative government. They control all of it. Okay. And so cancel culture

00:18:46.740 is a left-wing phenomenon because only the left really has the power to cancel. I'll show you this

00:18:55.460 example. Take a listen to this. This was on CNN. Terry Crews has, has become very unpopular on the

00:19:02.380 left because he's a black guy who is opposed to the Black Lives Matter movement because he sees it

00:19:08.200 for what it is. His problems with the Black Lives Matter movement are not that black people shouldn't 0.90

00:19:13.140 be treated well. His problems are that it is radical Marxist leftist. So he's invited on Don

00:19:19.160 Lemon's show on CNN to talk about this. Don Lemon will barely let this guy get a word out.

00:19:25.940 The Black Lives Matter movement was started because it was talking about police brutality.

00:19:30.280 If you want an all Black Lives Matter movement that talks about gun violence in communities, 0.97

00:19:36.180 including, you know, black communities, then start that movement with that name. But that's not

00:19:41.060 what Black Lives Matter is about. It's not an all encompassing. So if you're talking about,

00:19:46.800 if someone started a movement that said cancer matters, and then someone comes in and said,

00:19:52.820 why aren't you talking about HIV? It's not the same thing. We're talking about cancer.

00:19:57.420 That's not a very good analogy. I don't know if you caught that. What Don Lemon is saying is that

00:20:02.700 Black Lives Matter refers explicitly to police brutality. You know, that totally widespread systemic

00:20:08.460 scourge. That's totally real. Not, not overhyped by people in the media like Don Lemon. He says it

00:20:15.460 refers to police brutality, not other killings of black people. So you can't talk about how

00:20:19.360 very, very few unarmed black men per year are killed by police. And many, many more black people 0.75

00:20:25.280 are killed by criminals in their own neighborhoods. And BLM's mum on that. You can't say that because 0.97

00:20:30.100 we're talking, we're only talking about police brutality. It would be as if

00:20:33.220 you were, you had a cancer, cancer matters. And then you started talking about some other disease.

00:20:38.520 But the thing is Black Lives Matter claims to talk about black lives. It's not called police

00:20:43.080 brutality matters. It's not called reform the cops. It's called Black Lives Matter. So it's completely 0.91

00:20:46.980 legitimate to say, wait, you only care about this very small number of black lives, but you don't care 0.99

00:20:51.180 about the vast majority of black lives. They're lost to crime in their own neighborhoods. Don Lemon, 0.97

00:20:57.300 I don't think he's so thick headed as to not understand that. So I, I don't actually want

00:21:05.240 to give him the benefit of the doubt because that will make him seem dumber than I think he is. 0.86

00:21:08.380 And the rest of his interview, I think shows how cynical the guy is being is finally, he runs his 0.98

00:21:15.080 mouth. He runs his mouth. He runs his mouth. Terry Crews finally starts to get a word in that smacks

00:21:19.440 down Don Lemon's point. What does Don Lemon do? He jumps right back in and shuts him up.

00:21:23.700 So the Black Lives Matter movement is about police brutality and injustice in that manner,

00:21:30.540 not about what's happening in black neighborhoods. If you, there are people who are working on that

00:21:34.900 issue. And if you want to start that issue, why don't you start it? Do you understand what I'm

00:21:41.500 saying? But when you look at the organization, police brutality is not the only thing they're

00:21:48.120 talking about. I know that. I agree, but that's not what the Black Lives Matter movement is about, 0.96

00:21:52.840 Terry. Black Lives Matter is about police brutality and about and about criminal justice. It's not

00:21:58.540 about what happens in communities when it comes to crime, black on black crime. People who live 0.96

00:22:04.520 near each other, black people kill each other. Same as whites. Eighty some percent of white people 1.00

00:22:09.440 are killed by white people because of proximity. It's the same thing with black people that happens 1.00

00:22:14.640 in every single neighborhood. But that doesn't, again, I'm not saying that's not important that

00:22:18.800 those, those, those kids die, but it's a different movement. Wow. That is one cynical liar right there,

00:22:24.740 isn't it? You see, he, he starts out that segment. Well, first of all, he starts out with a nonsense, 0.97

00:22:30.000 which is he says, look, there are already people working on crime in black neighborhoods. So if you 0.96

00:22:34.700 want to do that, start that. Well, why would you start it if it's already, if people are already

00:22:38.820 working on it? Because no one's actually working on it. But beyond that, he, he says, Terry Cruz

00:22:44.400 comes out and says, I, I'm talking about the organization, which talks about things that are

00:22:48.480 very different from police brutality, like dismantling the nuclear family, like upending

00:22:53.880 our, our social order. And as he's saying that, Don Lemon says, I know that Terry, but that's not

00:23:00.600 what police brutality, that's not what black lives matter is about. Beep, boop, beep, boop. He actually 1.00

00:23:05.700 says, I know that the organization is not about police brutality, but the organization is about

00:23:10.480 police brutality. He immediately contradicts himself. And then he just filibusters. Then he just

00:23:14.340 says words to talk over Terry Cruz because heaven forfend, Terry Cruz gets the truth out about this

00:23:20.660 radical organization. He won't, they won't let it happen in a way. That's sort of like a mild version

00:23:26.760 of cancel culture because he invites the guy on the show and then he won't let him get a single word in

00:23:30.660 the, the most egregious example of this kind of institutional acceptance of lies permeating the whole

00:23:40.400 system. Came from a headline in the Hill last week, which I will get to in one second. First

00:25:00.960 This headline will show you the kind of dishonesty we're dealing with if Don Lemon didn't do it

00:25:05.840 already. Headline, Phoenix protesters demand body cam footage after police kill man in parked

00:25:12.840 car. It's another one of these examples of police brutality. Cops come up. I'm sure the

00:25:19.120 man was black because that's what, that's what would make it newsworthy, right? The police come 1.00

00:25:24.560 up, there's a man in the car and they probably woke him up and they just started shooting, right?

00:25:30.060 Is that what happened? Not quite. So you got to skip one, two, three, four, five, six, seven paragraphs

00:25:37.480 don't tell you anything about what actually happened. They bury the lead by the eighth paragraph. We say

00:25:43.540 the Phoenix police department said in a statement Sunday that an officer involved shooting occurred

00:25:47.120 after a 911 caller said that a man who tried to kill him last week had returned with a knife and

00:25:52.480 was threatening to harm him. The department said that the caller pointed out the alleged suspect's

00:25:58.020 location after they arrived on the scene. Officers requested additional backup before locating a man

00:26:02.640 sitting in a parked car in the driveway of a house, the department said. Officers are said to have told

00:26:07.280 the man that they were investigating an aggravated assault. As the conversation continued, officers

00:26:11.440 instructed the man to get out of the vehicle. At this point, he refused instead rolling up his window

00:26:15.100 and armed himself with a handgun. And then the man began to lift his weapon. Then one officer broke

00:26:23.740 a passenger window to attempt to distract the man after seeing him point his weapon at a fellow officer.

00:26:29.420 As that happened, two other officers fired into the vehicle, the department said. And the man was

00:26:35.680 pronounced dead. We actually don't, we don't have any info on who this man was or, or what happened before.

00:26:42.020 But this, you got to wait eight paragraphs to find out that this guy was, had already tried to kill

00:26:47.720 somebody, was armed with a gun, pointed the gun at the cops. Absolute dishonesty.

00:26:56.680 Meanwhile, it's not just the media. The city of Seattle is now hosting a conference for its city

00:27:01.860 employees on how to undo whiteness. That's a, that's the system that they're trying to undo in Seattle.

00:27:09.240 Undo whiteness. How do you undo? Could you imagine if there were a conference called undoing blackness? 0.91

00:27:15.580 Probably, probably wouldn't go over very well, but undoing whiteness. City of Seattle had this

00:27:19.640 training session for white employees aimed at teaching them how to quote, practice self-talk

00:27:25.080 that quote, affirms their complicity in racism and about undoing their own whiteness.

00:27:32.980 There are lots of overlapping systems here. Okay. The, the left uses all of our institutions

00:27:43.340 to push their system. And then every so often you get some weirdo candidate like Donald Trump 0.97

00:27:48.520 or I don't know. I mean, Trump is kind of the unique candidates, at least in presidential politics

00:27:53.660 of late. And he poses a threat to that system. We can't have it all. We can't have a system in America

00:28:00.940 where you punish, where you punish people for criticizing black lives matter by destroying

00:28:06.800 their lives, but you don't punish people at all who post Hitler quotes to the internet and talk about 0.99

00:28:13.660 how terrible the Jews are. We can't have a system where you punish people for wearing OAN cable news 1.00

00:28:20.260 t-shirts, but you don't punish people for racial bigotry in the other direction. We can't have a system

00:28:29.700 where a city government tries to get you to undo your own whiteness, shames you for the color of

00:28:37.620 your skin, but only if you've got a certain skin, not if you've got another kind of color skin and

00:28:42.820 at the same time have a system of color blindness and moving past race and having racial harmony.

00:28:49.000 You can't have them both. You've got to pick. Do you want racial harmony and assimilation or do you 0.96

00:28:54.440 want a racially bigoted country where you have to undo your whiteness? You've got to pick. Do you want

00:29:02.320 a system of globalization and neoliberalism where we have essentially a one world government system

00:29:09.060 that comes out of a one world economic system? Or do you want a system of nation states? Do you want

00:29:16.220 the UN and the IMF and the EU and the WHO to control the world or do you want your own elected officials

00:29:21.780 to control the world? Those are the choices. The reason that this is getting so ginned up right now,

00:29:28.780 four months before a presidential election, is those are actually the stakes. These little incidents here,

00:29:33.300 the little Black Lives Matter protest or riot or whatever, the little Antifa thing, these little incidents

00:29:39.460 are indicative of a huge fight over which system we're going to have. We got some good news on part of that

00:29:45.140 system with President Trump's announcement on the World Health Organization, but that's going to be

00:29:51.600 the debate. That debate is only going to get hotter and you've got to pick a side. There's a group of

00:29:55.600 call them, I guess, liberals to classical liberals to slight progressives. They're trying to stand in

00:30:02.540 the middle. They're trying to be neutral. Well, if you stand in the middle of the road, you are going

00:30:06.200 to get hit by a truck. We'll get to all of that in one second. First though, I've got to thank you.

00:30:09.880 Thank you for subscribing to the Michael Knowles show on Apple podcasts. Thank you for leaving a five-star

00:30:37.900 that has come out. It talks a lot about this ridiculous sort of sham journalism that we've

00:30:44.980 been talking about all day. The book is called How to Destroy America in Three Easy Steps. You can

00:30:49.840 pre-order your signed copy at dailywire.com slash Ben. Go get your copy today. Go to dailywire.com.

00:30:55.540 We'll be right back with a lot more. A little bit of a win on this system fight between

00:31:13.060 neoliberalism, globalism, and the nation state. The United States is withdrawing from the World

00:31:19.200 Health Organization. The World Health Organization is a prop. It is a puppet of the Chinese government, 1.00

00:31:24.500 which hand-selected their own puppet leader of the WHO. The WHO is the reason that the coronavirus

00:31:30.480 epidemic spread so broadly. They covered up for China. China covered up the epidemic. They've 0.79

00:31:36.580 continued to lie about it. Democrats are very upset about this. Eric Swalwell, who is me and is you,

00:31:41.780 and we are all Eric Swalwell, the erstwhile democratic presidential candidate. He tweeted out

00:31:46.160 at this news. He said, my car just broke down. I'm calling and canceling my AAA membership.

00:31:51.320 That's his analogy for the WHO. But I don't know. These Democrats are not making very good

00:31:56.560 analogies these days. Him, Don Lemon, because the only way Eric Swalwell's analogy makes sense

00:32:01.780 is if AAA conspired with the man who broke your car and then covered up for the man who broke your car

00:32:10.340 for three months straight and continues to work with the man who broke your car right now. In that case,

00:32:15.980 if that's what AAA is doing, I would cancel your AAA membership. I would, I would get some other

00:32:22.440 organization to help you or I would help yourself. That's good news. The left is very upset about this.

00:32:29.120 They push back. Even this battle over the coronavirus and the lockdowns is ultimately a battle over these

00:32:36.060 systems. Who is going to govern you? What system are you going to live under?

00:32:40.640 This fight over the system has really irritated Tom Hanks. Tom Hanks is very angry with you.

00:32:49.760 You know, Tom Hanks, the Hollywood actor. He is very upset that you are not doing exactly what he

00:32:55.720 tells you to do and what the WHO tells you to do by wearing the mask. And he's not afraid to tell you

00:33:02.000 what he thinks. I don't get it. I simply do not get it. It is literally the least you can do.

00:33:11.080 And if you want to, if anybody wants to build up an argument about doing the least they can do,

00:33:16.440 I wouldn't trust them with a driver's license. I mean, when you drive a car, you got to obey speed,

00:33:21.440 speed, speed limits. You got to use your turn signal. You got to avoid hitting pedestrians.

00:33:25.840 If you can't do those three things, then I get it. You shouldn't be driving a car. If you can't

00:33:31.840 wear a mask and wash your hands in social distance, I don't understand. I got no respect for you, man.

00:33:38.360 I don't buy your argument. Finally, finally, a Hollywood celebrity is mouthing off on a political

00:33:45.180 issue about which he knows absolutely nothing. It's about time, frankly. I've just been waiting for

00:33:50.580 this my whole life. And now, I got to tell you, I'm a little upset because it means Tom Hanks

00:33:55.760 has no respect for us. I put so much of my self-esteem in the respect that Tom Hanks has for

00:34:03.640 me. But this is it. Why are they so, why are they so focused on the masks? Where are the damn masks?

00:34:08.940 That's what they keep saying. And they tell you it's just about science. Very little evidence that 1.00

00:34:13.260 the masks do much at all. You can read some of it on the CDC website. This is the reason that the,

00:34:18.360 the surgeon general came out early and said, don't wear the masks. The reason Eric Swalwell came out

00:34:22.140 early. Eric freaking Swalwell came out and said, don't wear the masks. Don't buy the masks. 0.58

00:34:26.480 Because they just don't, especially the masks that we're using, these cloth masks or bandanas,

00:34:31.320 there, there's very little evidence that they're having much effect. It is a psychological tool to

00:34:36.920 convince people that we're doing something and we're helping out and we're really in it together.

00:34:40.280 And it's a political symbol to show that you're willing to do what the left tells you to do.

00:34:45.840 And you're on the right side of this social question. Even something as apparently trivial

00:34:51.960 as wearing a mask is intended to tip this political battle that we're having one way

00:34:58.240 or the other. And there is no way to look at the, the current debate over the lockdown as anything

00:35:04.440 but political. Ever since the so-called health experts came out and said that if you protest for

00:35:10.200 conservative causes, you're killing people with the virus. And if you protest for leftist causes,

00:35:14.820 you're actually stopping the spread of the virus, which they actually said a few weeks ago,

00:35:18.900 ever since then, the public health establishment has no credibility. And so we need to have an

00:35:25.640 authentic politics and actually have these debates ourselves, but no one's willing to,

00:35:30.200 the minute you get a little close to that debate, what happens? They shut you up. They change the

00:35:34.680 subject. Don Lemon jumps in, doesn't let you get that kind of news up. The other bit of absolutely

00:35:39.700 stupid, irrelevant news that they're distracting with right now, but it does tell you something about 0.99

00:35:44.300 their system is this new book by Mary Trump. Mary Trump is some niece of Donald Trump, I guess. 1.00

00:35:49.800 And she's publishing a tell-all book about how Donald is awful and she hates her uncle.

00:35:53.520 By the way, a note to any of my nieces or nephews walking, watching right now. If you ever think

00:36:00.240 about doing this to me, you better lawyer up kids because I ain't going to tell her. Trump's been very

00:36:04.740 nice to, to his niece, Mary Trump, but she publishes this absolutely awful book. I don't even know if

00:36:09.480 they, these two know each other that well. You know, I mean, I can, can you imagine how many

00:36:12.720 nieces and nephews and cousins Donald Trump has? So she cashes in, she wants to make money on this

00:36:16.760 book. And one of the big accusations in it is that Donald Trump, you ready for it? Bum, bum, bum.

00:36:24.900 He cheated on his SATs. Did he do that? I don't know. I don't see any reason to believe that.

00:36:31.940 I don't see any reason to believe anything that I read in the news anymore because they lie to me

00:36:35.440 or in these tell all books from people who hate Donald Trump. But even if he did, let's say that

00:36:41.520 40, no, 50 years ago now, Donald Trump paid some guy to take his SATs for him, which apparently all

00:36:47.740 of the wealthy liberals have been doing for years now. You remember that scandal a few years ago?

00:36:52.460 But even if he did that, does anybody care about that? Does anybody care? Does that change any

00:36:59.620 single person's mind about who Donald Trump is or why they're voting for him? No, it's, it's actually

00:37:05.560 almost charming. It's sort of pitiful that the left believes they still have such faith in their

00:37:12.540 institutions, the SAT, the credentialing institution of the college board to get into the credentialing

00:37:18.440 institutions of the American universities, which now don't really offer education. We talked yesterday

00:37:24.600 about how Harvard's charging the same price for correspondence courses because it's not about the

00:37:29.080 education. It's about the credential. It's about the system. It's about the network.

00:37:33.440 They think that really matters still. They don't realize how far past that we are. They don't

00:37:39.540 realize that even the modern liberal politicized university itself is part of the debate that we're

00:37:47.880 having right now about dismantling the systems. I think a lot of conservatives wouldn't mind dismantling

00:37:54.200 the current university system, which is a grotesque, hollowed out farce of what a proper university is.

00:38:06.060 That's up for debate right now. We can believe very little on face value. We can take very little

00:38:12.220 on face value. I'll give you an example. There's this Oregon politician, Jonathan Lopez, who has been

00:38:18.580 talking about how he's the victim of a hate crime, of, of hate threats because of his race. I take it by the 0.82

00:38:25.380 name Lopez that he's Hispanic. So he apparently received this letter that said, don't waste your time

00:38:30.960 trying to become anything in this county. We will make sure you never win and your family suffers along with

00:38:35.780 all the other effing Mexicans in the area. Sincerely, America. Now, I think most conservatives, if they saw 1.00

00:38:43.540 that, they would say, yeah, that's a fake letter. Just like how most conservatives, when they heard there was a

00:38:50.020 noose in the NASCAR race, they said, no, there isn't. Well, turns out, surprise, surprise, it was fake. It was a

00:38:56.880 fake letter. Meanwhile, Lopez responded to it and he goes, I hold no resentment for whomever wrote this. Yeah, probably not

00:39:02.200 because it was you who wrote it, Buster. I'm just simply heartbroken for the lack of knowledge, education, and

00:39:06.660 respect missing. I pray for you and wish you prosperity in your life. God bless us all. Yeah, he wrote it. Cops figured it out.

00:39:12.500 Lopez finally admitted to it. Of course it was fake. Only leftists think that people say this kind of

00:39:18.920 stuff or that, you know, I suppose any people have wickedness lurking in all of our hearts, but that on

00:39:25.800 any large scale, this kind of thing happens. It doesn't. The left thinks that. This is why the

00:39:30.420 nooses are almost always fake. The nooses as the hate crimes is because only the left views the noose

00:39:36.780 as this universally racist symbol. Most people look at nooses and they think of suicide or they

00:39:42.480 think of the wild west or they think of a symbol of death that goes back to the Bible and Homer that

00:39:47.780 goes back through all of our civilization. Only the left, which is living in this very particular

00:39:52.560 racial fantasy land, views the noose as this racial symbol. And so when it comes up as a, as a racial

00:39:59.940 incident, we all know that nine times out of 10, 99 times out of a hundred, that's going to be fake.

00:40:05.860 And usually it is. This is where the left is pushing us. They want us to live in this system that they have

00:40:16.040 created. Conservatives don't. We want to tear down that system and return to proper institutions that are not

00:40:22.660 based on fantasies. Then there are the liberals, the squishes, the classical liberals, the, even the moderate

00:40:32.280 progressives, the, they're the people in the middle who think that there is a middle ground between all of this.

00:40:38.360 And they published a letter in Harper's magazine just yesterday, a letter on justice and open debate.

00:40:45.280 Our cultural institutions are facing a moment of trial. Powerful protests for racial and social

00:40:52.540 justice are leading to overdue demands for police reform. Yada, yada, yada. The forces of illiberalism

00:40:59.620 are gaining strength throughout the world and have a powerful ally in Donald Trump who represents a real

00:41:05.100 threat to democracy. The free exchange of information ideas, the liberal, the lifeblood of a liberal society

00:41:11.920 is daily becoming more constricted. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. We all need to have free thought and

00:41:15.900 free ideas and, and, and we all need to be liberals in the best sense of that word. And it's signed by

00:41:22.080 lots and lots of people. I think about 150 people signed to this. Some well-known leftists like Noam

00:41:28.620 Chomsky and many other people. 150 liberals signed it. Now the hard left is trying to cancel people for

00:41:37.200 signing that letter. It's not the conservatives trying to cancel them. It's the hard left trying to get

00:41:41.500 people fired for signing even that milquetoast letter. Already two people who signed it have

00:41:45.640 backed out. So much for standing up for free exchange of ideas. So much for defending our

00:41:49.780 liberal institutions. Already two people have backed out. Uh, Carrie Greenridge, who's an historian. 1.00

00:41:56.720 She said, I do not endorse this letter. I'm in contact with Harper's about a retraction. And the

00:42:00.680 author and transgender activist, Jennifer Finney Boyle, who says, I did not know who else had signed that

00:42:06.120 letter. I thought I was endorsing a well-meaning, if vague message against internet shaming.

00:42:10.100 I did know Chomsky, Steinem and Atwood were in, and I thought good company.

00:42:13.960 The consequences are mine to bear. I'm sorry. So she's saying, yeah, I agree with everything in

00:42:16.860 the letter, but I don't want to be associated with some of the people who are slightly, like

00:42:21.800 slightly to the right, almost center right. This shows you the, there is no middle ground.

00:42:30.580 And I, I know there are a lot of conservatives who say, I'm a conservative because I'm a liberal.

00:42:33.820 I just want to return to the free exchange of ideas. This is why people are upset

00:42:36.920 when we criticize Ilhan Omar and say she has no place in Congress, no place in the United States,

00:42:43.500 if she wants to tear the whole country down. They say, what about the free exchange of ideas? 1.00

00:42:47.900 What about, yes, of course we defend the free exchange of ideas, but not at the expense of

00:42:52.440 the free exchange of ideas. We defend our, and because we're speaking too abstractly,

00:42:56.860 let me put it in more concrete terms. We defend our American political traditions of free speech

00:43:03.180 and open debate in so much as they don't undermine the whole country. We actually have something to

00:43:09.880 say. We do as a conservative, I don't merely stand for the free exchange of ideas. I also stand for

00:43:17.600 some of the ideas that we're exchanging. And too many conservatives have bought into this kind of

00:43:24.840 pathetic letter, this lie that there is this liberal middle neutral ground that we can stand on where 0.95

00:43:30.860 really all we care about is the process, the form of talking about things. No, we stand for things 0.98

00:43:36.260 as well. We stand for some of the content of the speech. And for the last several decades, the left

00:43:41.540 has offered not only a form of debate, but substance to the debate. And the right has been too squishy

00:43:46.820 and too cowardly to do that. We can't do that any longer. It's coming to a head, guys. They're ripping 0.97

00:43:52.260 down statues of George Washington and torching cities. Okay. They're, they're instituting blatantly

00:43:58.060 discriminatory racist policies. They wouldn't call them racist because the racism goes against Asian

00:44:03.380 people and against white people, but they're doing it. I mean, there is, uh, even consider this kind

00:44:08.300 of racism, which I would find to be an anti-black racism. Princeton just wrote a letter, uh, and a

00:44:14.620 number of faculty members and people at Princeton wrote it to the university. And they said that, uh,

00:44:20.740 they must educate the Princeton university community about the legacy of slavery and white supremacy,

00:44:24.800 actively confront Princeton's ties to, and culpability and slavery and white supremacy.

00:44:30.020 You're gonna hear a lot about white supremacy. Form an internal committee of faculty and students

00:44:34.700 of color to hold the university accountable. So you're going to give people special power based 0.96

00:44:38.780 on the color of their skin. And then this is my favorite part on racial equality. They say,

00:44:42.120 remove questions about misdemeanors and felony convictions from admissions applications. 0.54

00:44:46.680 They are actually conflating being black with being a felon. By the way, how many felons apply

00:44:51.880 to Princeton? I guess some, but probably not that many. My guess, not that many. And how bigoted,

00:44:57.480 how outrageous to say that, that it's synonymous to call someone black or a felon. 0.85

00:45:05.180 That, that is the kind of insane racialized system though, that they are pushing. 0.68

00:45:12.060 There's no middle ground. Take a stand here. This is the moment to do it. I, I fear that if we lose

00:45:19.980 this battle right now, this election actually does seem to matter. I know every election is the most

00:45:23.880 important election of your lifetime, but they're burning down the country. So, you know, I think

00:45:27.060 this one matters a little bit more than say Bush v. Gore. Okay. I fear that conservatives are going

00:45:35.000 to sit in the middle, sit on the sidelines, say, well, I don't, I don't want to say anything. I don't

00:45:39.380 want to offend anybody. I'll post the black square and go along with Marxists because they're bullying 0.99

00:45:43.940 me. I'll, I'll vote for Biden because, you know, Trump colluded with a porn star in Russia and didn't 0.65

00:45:49.660 pay his taxes or whatever other lie the New York Times is going to write. And then we're going to

00:45:53.800 look back and say, gosh, we should have stood up. Where were the conservatives then? Well, here's your

00:45:57.500 chance, guys. Here's the call. Stand up for something. A system will be dismantled. It's up to us

00:46:03.760 which system that is. A lot more to say. We'll have to do it tomorrow. In the meantime, I'm Michael

00:47:06.680 Hey everyone, I'm Andrew Klavan, host of The Andrew Klavan Show. 150 mostly liberal writers are

00:47:11.600 protesting cancel culture, but they don't understand. The left no longer believes in free speech.

00:47:16.640 They're on the wrong side in the war against reality. We'll talk about it on The Andrew Klavan Show.

00:47:21.220 I'm Andrew Klavan.
