Summary

A new poll shows that a clear majority of Americans are willing to wear masks indoors at all times indefinitely, compared to a whopping 82% of Democrats who are ready to muzzle themselves. How did we get to a place where more Democrats than Republicans are more than twice as likely to wear a mask indoors all the time?

Transcript

00:00:00.000 A clear majority of Americans are willing to wear masks indoors at all times indefinitely,
00:00:08.300 according to a new poll from Axios and Ipsos. That is the bad news. The bad news is that
00:00:13.520 Americans have lost their minds, dignity, and fashion sense. The good news is that it is mostly
00:00:21.000 just the libs. So this same poll shows that only 38% of Republicans are willing to wear masks
00:00:28.920 indoors all the time compared to a whopping 82% of Democrats who are ready to muzzle themselves.
00:00:36.680 This is a massive difference about one of the most basic aspects of our lives, how we present
00:00:42.640 ourselves in public, how we smile, how we speak, how we breathe. Does this difference between the
00:00:48.640 left and the right come about because our brains work differently? Maybe, maybe a little bit. Is it
00:00:54.480 because we view life and death differently? Maybe that plays a role too. But the biggest factor here
00:01:00.140 at play is right before your very eyes. And the libs are getting really nervous about it.
00:01:07.600 It's the media. I'm Michael Knowles. This is The Michael Knowles Show.
00:01:17.420 Welcome back to the show. My favorite comment yesterday is from sdog556 who says,
00:01:21.420 I feel like the only person from America who should be going to the Beijing Olympics
00:01:25.120 is Eric Swalwell so he can see his ex-girlfriend. That's true. This is really the toughest part of
00:01:31.600 the diplomatic boycott is that a sitting member of Congress, the Democrat Eric Swalwell, might now not
00:01:37.640 be able to see his Chinese spy girlfriend that he slept with for a very long time. That's really sad.
00:01:43.040 People, you know, sure, the athletes, we talk about the athletes or the coaches,
00:01:47.740 but what about Eric Swalwell? How's he going to have a good time? When you want to have a good
00:01:52.620 time, when you want to protect your assets and your wealth, I would recommend you check out
00:01:56.800 Acre Gold. Silver and gold, silver and gold. Everyone wishes for silver and gold. Are you like
00:02:06.140 Yukon Cornelius? Do you wish for gold specifically? Well, Acre will let you get your hands on some gold.
00:02:13.880 Now, you might say, Michael, I don't have a whole lot of money. What if I told you you could start
00:02:17.400 investing in physical gold for as little as $30 a month? You can. I know you'll probably call me a
00:02:24.240 liar, but it's true. You can. Acre has this ingenious way to invest where when your gold stash
00:02:29.960 reaches the price of their gold bars monthly, monthly, you subscribe to the gold, $30 a month.
00:02:35.780 Then once it reaches that threshold, they'll discreetly ship Acre Gold to your house.
00:02:39.680 Acre has introduced a new $100 a month subscription to a five gram gold bar if you
00:02:44.040 want to up the ante. Great way to start getting invested in physical precious metals. I have
00:02:48.260 enjoyed investing in physical precious metals and specifically in Acre Gold. Go to getacregold.com
00:02:53.400 slash Knowles right now. Start investing in physical gold today. Make sure you go to that URL
00:02:57.680 because Acre is giving away a gold bar. To qualify for the giveaway, tweet or post why you should be the
00:03:02.180 recipient and mention at get underscore Acre. That is getacregold.com slash Knowles.
00:03:08.280 I have said from the beginning, the masks are a political symbol. Whatever they do or don't do
00:03:15.640 medically or for public health or whatever, we can all debate that. Dr. Fauci can debate that with
00:03:20.380 himself because he's held opposite views on the question. Whatever you talk about the medical side,
00:03:25.520 it is a political symbol. When I walk down the street and I see someone wearing a mask,
00:03:30.640 I can know with a great deal of certainty I am looking at a lib. That was true basically for the
00:03:35.360 the whole epidemic, but it's especially true now. When I see someone not wearing a mask,
00:03:39.780 I know I'm looking at a conservative. I was on an airplane yesterday and you look and the degree
00:03:44.700 to which the mask is below the nose, the lower the mask is on the face, you can know almost with 100%
00:03:52.880 certainty the more conservative the person is that you are looking at. How did it get this way?
00:04:00.060 How did we get to the place where more than four out of five Democrats in America are willing to
00:04:05.640 muzzle themselves where that filthy, disgusting cloth indefinitely? Is it just because they're
00:04:12.220 naive? Is it just because they're a little bit kooky? Maybe, sure. I really think it's the media though
00:04:17.460 because I peruse CNN every now and again. I guess I'm a masochist. Maybe that's my kink. I don't know.
00:04:24.400 I look at the New York Times. I read the Washington Post and if I were just reading those news outlets
00:04:31.020 and just watching those TV shows, I would be scared to death of the Omicron and the Delta and
00:04:39.600 the Phi Beta Kappa and all of them. I would think that I were on the verge of death because the bubonic
00:04:46.180 plague were all around me because those news outlets lie, but they're very effective at lying.
00:04:50.180 Now, thankfully, that's not all that I read and listen to. It's not all that you read and listen to.
00:04:56.680 That's probably why you're not extremely neurotic about the Wu flu. And increasingly, you have the
00:05:03.640 opportunity not to pay attention to those fear-mongering demagogues on CNN and the New York Times and
00:05:10.760 everywhere else. And the libs are really upset about this. Axios just ran a hit piece on conservatives
00:05:18.180 called Right Wing Builds Its Own Echo Chamber. And it shows the monthly downloads of U.S. right-wing
00:05:27.660 apps. So it's not just our podcasts, which are some of the top podcasts in the world. And it's not just
00:05:32.500 our website, which is one of the most widely shared. Actually, the most widely shared news
00:05:38.360 organization on Facebook, for instance. And it's not just our properties. It's the app in particular.
00:05:44.920 We're number one. We're number one. Then there's the MeWe. You see the MeWe network here. You see
00:05:50.560 Blaze, Parler, Newsmax. Oh, yeah. So these are all these conservative apps. And Axios is really upset
00:05:57.020 that we're building our own echo chamber. Now, of course, no matter how well Daily Wire does on
00:06:03.920 Facebook, sure, we're the number one publisher on Facebook. But conservative stuff broadly is actually
00:06:09.720 a very small portion of Facebook. Yeah, Daily Wire is top of the heap, but we're just one outlet.
00:06:15.680 Even if you take into account all the different apps and conservative outlets, it's a drop in the
00:06:21.060 bucket compared to the left-wing media landscape. And so it doesn't matter how well one company does,
00:06:28.720 generally the left is going to get its views out there more effectively.
00:06:32.800 Now they're being threatened a little bit because the right is growing tremendously,
00:06:36.020 specifically Daily Wire, not even just to toot our own horns. But the left has given us an
00:06:40.340 opportunity. The left keeps canceling people in movies, canceling people in TV, canceling people
00:06:45.180 in sports, turning people off because of their awful politics. And then we just scoop it all up.
00:06:49.700 That's why we're joking about how we're about to hire Chris Cuomo. It's because it seems like
00:06:53.640 everyone, we're not going to hire Chris Cuomo, but everyone that gets canceled, we hire them up.
00:06:57.980 They're really good talents. And then we help to grow. And then we go further up on this list
00:07:02.320 and the libs cry about it. They're building an echo chamber. So what if we are? It's not an echo
00:07:09.760 chamber. It is an echo chamber, but it's not an echo chamber in the sense that the libs think.
00:07:15.240 The libs have a very large echo chamber. Their echo chamber spans sea to shining sea and it's the
00:07:20.660 entire media landscape. And their voices echo and they reverberate and they're just kind of the
00:07:26.520 background noise and everyone believes the nonsense that they say. And we want our voices to echo too.
00:07:32.320 We want our voices to be out there. And for when people think about some political issue,
00:07:37.160 to think about the Daily Wire report they heard about it, to think about that thing that maybe
00:07:40.460 I said on my show that debunks the nonsense that they heard from the New York Times or the Washington
00:07:45.300 Post. It's good to have your voice echo. The libs have had their voices echoing for decades and
00:07:52.300 decades, I mean, at least 50 years and really longer than that. And it has helped them utterly
00:07:56.940 transform the country. And now we're going to go fight back and we're having a lot of success at that.
00:08:00.940 And they can cry about it, but too bad. You did this to yourselves. You have given conservatives
00:08:06.060 an opportunity because of your obvious dishonesty and your corruption and your failures. And now
00:08:13.700 we're fighting back and that's too bad for you, isn't it? Speaking of the media and the left-wing
00:08:17.800 echo chamber that reverberates around our country, Fredo. Fredo Cuomo, because he has not yet gotten the
00:08:25.380 call from Daily Wire. He's waiting by his phone. Please, Ben, call me. Give me the Chris Cuomo show
00:08:32.680 on the Daily Wire. Because that hasn't happened yet, he needs to make a buck. And so how's he going
00:08:37.000 to do it? He's going to sue CNN. There's a report out now that Cuomo is hiring lawyers and preparing
00:08:43.360 to file a lawsuit over the remainder of his four-year contract from last year. The contract was
00:08:50.260 reportedly worth $6 million a year. $6 million this jerk was. I got to call Ben, man. I got to
00:08:57.120 renegotiate my contract by a few orders of magnitude, I think. So that leaves $18 million to $20 million
00:09:04.660 on his contract that would be owed. CNN says, we're not giving you a penny, Chris. CNN says,
00:09:10.700 they have, quote, no intention of paying. This is through a CNN insider. So they're speaking
00:09:14.780 anonymously, but this is clearly coming from CNN. They have no intention of paying Cuomo a penny
00:09:19.320 because if he gets a settlement, there would be an uproar. Furthermore, another source says,
00:09:24.780 CNN has a standard morality clause in their contract that says that if the employee does
00:09:28.820 anything of disrepute, they can be immediately fired. If CNN enforced the morality clause
00:09:36.040 that if you fall into disrepute, if you do anything of disrepute, rather, you can be fired,
00:09:41.800 there would not be anyone in the CNN building. There would be tumbleweed blowing through the
00:09:46.100 hallways of CNN. Oh, wow. Oh, we just found out. This is breaking news. We just found out Chris
00:09:51.680 Cuomo is Andrew Cuomo's brother. Wow. We just found that. We just found out he's Mario Cuomo's
00:09:57.560 son. Oh, wow. Big news. All right. The morality clause goes into effect. Give me a break.
00:10:06.640 The network that employs Jeffrey Toobin is now puffing their chests about a morality clause. Is that so?
00:10:13.060 Whatever Cuomo did, and who knows? Now, the one thing we know Cuomo did is help his brother,
00:10:19.640 which he was obviously going to do, and he's obviously been doing for his entire life.
00:10:24.420 Now, there are these sort of dubious allegations of vague sexual harassment that it's clear CNN is
00:10:31.800 leaking to try to get out of paying him the rest of his contract. They don't seem particularly
00:10:37.100 credible necessarily. Maybe they need, we need to see more evidence for that. We know what Jeffrey
00:10:43.180 Toobin did. We know that Jeffrey Toobin, on a Zoom call with colleagues, exposed himself and
00:10:50.880 performed an act of intimacy with someone that he loves. That guy's still working. That guy's still
00:10:57.340 on air at CNN. Give me a break. It has nothing to do with morality. It has everything to do with
00:11:04.160 political usefulness. The Cuomos are no longer useful to CNN. CNN hired Chris Cuomo because the
00:11:13.320 Cuomo family was a relatively minor but still substantial Democrat political dynasty because
00:11:20.580 now everyone forgets about him, but his dad, Mario Cuomo, was a very important Democrat politician who
00:11:25.540 actually popularized the idea that you can be personally against abortion but somehow politically
00:11:31.140 for abortion. And it was a way to give nominally Catholic politicians a way out to adhere to the
00:11:36.480 leftist sacramental view of abortion while still pretending to be Catholic. But now they're done and
00:11:42.300 Mario's out, Andrew's out, and Sofredo's out too. And now they're going to bicker about morality and I
00:11:50.240 am here to see it because the corruption that we've been seeing leak and leak more and more for years
00:11:55.080 is very likely about to break out into the open again. Now when you don't want things to break out
00:12:01.620 or break in and you want to keep yourself safe, I would recommend you check out Ring. You know about
00:12:06.020 the Ring video doorbell because I've told you about it for many years. It's this incredible technology
00:12:10.400 where you can see and speak to whoever is at your door, whether you're in the house or outside the
00:12:14.240 house or on the road somewhere. So I was on the road. I was on the road yesterday, got back, but I was so
00:12:18.420 glad to know that my wife and baby and home are safe. Not only that they can see whoever's outside
00:12:25.380 the door before they open the door, but that with the Ring alarm, you can keep tabs on every inch of
00:12:32.920 your house, wherever you are, protect your home, not just in terms of security the way we all think
00:12:37.500 about it, but from freeze, from fire, from flood. Ring has this whole powerful alarm system. What they
00:12:46.480 charge for one full year of professional monitoring with Ring Alarm, that's about the price you would
00:12:52.220 pay for one month on the old kind of alarm systems. Go get the best deals right now. Deck the halls,

00:13:07.860 ring.com slash Knowles. Speaking of getting caught, do you know that there's a trial right now going on
00:13:15.620 of Ghislaine Maxwell? Ghislaine Maxwell, the partner in crime to Jeffrey Epstein,
00:13:20.400 who totally killed himself of his own volition. It was accidentally permitted to happen in that
00:13:28.360 Manhattan correctional facility. Totally, totally killed himself. And if you say otherwise,
00:13:32.040 you're a crazy conspiracy theorist. You know, Jeffrey Epstein, the guy who had creepy pedo island
00:13:36.840 where he invited all the world leaders and largely Democrats, some Republicans do, but largely Democrats
00:13:42.000 and libs. You know, so Ghislaine Maxwell now is still alive, which is impressive. And she's on
00:13:49.280 trial. We have not discussed the trial very much on this show. It's been going on for about a week
00:13:53.380 now. The reason I haven't discussed the trial is one, I'm still holding out hope that the deep state
00:13:59.660 will give me a big payment not to talk about. Everyone's on the take from the deep state except
00:14:03.540 me. How come no one's offering me any money? Come on. I'll play ball, guys. Come on. No,
00:14:08.420 they won't call me. No, the reason I haven't talked about it is not because the story isn't
00:14:13.660 interesting and titillating and terrifying and creepy. It's because there's no new information.
00:14:22.960 This is the scariest part of all. We're not learning anything. What are we learning? In the trial,
00:14:30.540 they're naming all the names of the people who were on Epstein's airplanes. We already knew that. We knew
00:14:35.540 all those people were on the airplanes. We're finding out that Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell
00:14:41.200 visited the Clinton White House a lot. Yeah, we already knew that. Ghislaine was at Chelsea
00:14:46.220 Clinton's wedding, which we've known for years, which the media knew for years and years before
00:14:50.840 they would even touch the story. It was only a handful of conservatives who would say, hey,
00:14:54.440 what about this creepy guy, Jeffrey Epstein? Then finally, we know all of this. That's what's so
00:15:01.900 depressing about the whole affair. We know that the ruling class is deeply implicated in the affairs
00:15:11.920 of Jeffrey Epstein, this bizarre international man of mystery who has apparently strange ties to
00:15:18.320 international intelligence, who we don't really know where he got his money from. We know he was
00:15:22.500 surveilling and blackmailing people. Everything about it is just so ... We know he got a sweetheart deal
00:15:27.480 when he was first brought up on the weird sex charges. We know that the United States attorney
00:15:32.460 at the time, under Bush, said Jeffrey Epstein belongs to intelligence. So don't touch him.
00:15:39.780 And he gets this sweetheart deal and then finally they get him again some years later after the ... We
00:15:43.280 know all of that. So we know the ruling class knows that we know and we know that the ruling class
00:15:51.960 knows that we know and it just doesn't matter. This is why that the meme, Jeffrey Epstein didn't
00:15:57.240 kill himself. This is why it became a meme, right? Because no one thinks that this guy was just sort
00:16:02.980 of accidentally allowed to kill himself and whoops, the camera that was on his cell just accidentally
00:16:07.020 went out and whoops, the guards that were checking on him just accidentally fell asleep right at the
00:16:14.300 perfect time so that no one believes that. And the ruling class doesn't care because what are you
00:16:19.140 going to do about it? What are you going to do? You know, when you look at the intelligence
00:16:25.140 community component of all of this, I'm reminded of that phrase from Chuck Schumer, right when the
00:16:32.040 deep state, you know, it's not the deep state's not a conspiracy theory. It's just the administrative
00:16:35.880 agencies with a particular focus on the intelligence community. We know that that exists and that they
00:16:41.420 have priorities that they can pursue regardless of who is in the White House. And we know that they
00:16:46.280 can undermine duly elected presidents. They did it to Trump. They cooked up a totally fake steel dossier
00:16:51.500 and they use that as an excuse to spy on him and to undermine his administration and to plant lots
00:16:56.760 of bogus theories that got the guy impeached twice. But regardless, what are you going to do about it?
00:17:06.340 What are you going to do about it? Nothing. Chuck Schumer, the line from Chuck Schumer was,
00:17:14.080 don't go up against the intelligence community. They can get you nine ways from Sunday.
00:17:18.240 And he was being honest. They can. It's a very powerful force in not just American politics,
00:17:24.560 but in global politics. So that's why we, what is there to talk about? There's nothing to talk.
00:17:29.600 The real story is not whatever creepy massage Jeffrey Epstein got on Petto Island. The real story
00:17:36.600 is how did Epstein become so powerful? Where did he get his money? How did he so successfully blackmail
00:17:43.860 these people? What, what privileges did he get because he had all this dirt on everybody? Who was
00:17:51.220 backing him? Now, speaking of ways to fight back against the deep state, not, I'm not just talking
00:17:59.140 about the intelligence community here now. I'm talking about the entire blob, the whole just
00:18:02.500 administrative apparatus, you know, the Fauci's of the world, right? Fauci is a deep state or two.
00:18:09.280 Seven presidents come along. Dr. Fauci remains. Highest paid employee of the federal government.
00:18:16.000 Crafting national policy in a more significant way than this president, right? Joe Biden said,
00:18:21.960 I will never, ever fire Dr. Fauci. It can't be done. The last president, Trump, didn't fire Dr. Fauci.
00:18:29.380 And Fauci outlasted him. So how do we fight back against this stuff? How do we return to some
00:18:34.300 semblance of constitutional government if people still want to do that at all? Well, Ron DeSantis
00:18:40.840 is showing the way in Florida. Ron DeSantis just posted a picture of a healthcare worker.
00:18:46.760 Governor DeSantis said, Jeff, a Florida doctor I met in Brandon at the special session bill signing.
00:18:51.660 Remember he did that whole thing in this random town called Brandon, Florida. I don't know why,
00:18:55.460 just a coincidence probably. He was suspended from his job due to Biden's mandate. He has now
00:19:00.520 been reinstated due to our efforts to stop this heavy handed federal mandate. Freedom has a home
00:19:05.680 here in Florida. Ron DeSantis is such a good politician. It's insane. First of all, it's the
00:19:13.440 right thing to do. It is the right thing to do to give these healthcare workers their jobs back
00:19:18.200 just because they don't want to take the Fauci out. They were fired because they didn't want to
00:19:24.360 take the Fauci out. The former, the heroes, the great wonderful heroes who the Dems just threw under
00:19:28.100 the bus the minute they wouldn't comply with their ridiculous demands. And so DeSantis goes in. It's
00:19:34.220 the right thing to do. It's extremely smart politics. And the way that he's doing this personalizes it.
00:19:44.380 Right. What was the old line you'd hear from Soviet Russia? One person dead is a tragedy.
00:19:50.300 Five people dead is a tragedy. A million people dead is a statistic. When we just hear these,
00:19:54.440 you know, 50,000 workers laid off because of the Fauci ouchie, 50, 100,000, it doesn't mean anything.
00:20:00.100 Right. What do I care about? 50,000. I can't even visualize that. But, but that guy I can care
00:20:05.280 about. What's his name? Jeff. That's wrong for Jeff to lose his job. And so DeSantis is saying,
00:20:10.160 you want this guy to lose his job just because he won't go along with Fauci? No, he shouldn't.
00:20:14.380 And the states should be fighting back against this sort of thing. And, and DeSantis has really led the
00:20:19.440 way in terms of people at the level of state government. No one has done it better than DeSantis.
00:20:25.180 Yes. Speaking of fighting back and speaking of, of weird sex stuff, actually, there's a really
00:20:31.600 encouraging poll that just came out from Politico and Morning Consult. This with regard to abortion.
00:20:36.700 The Supreme Court might right now may overturn or overrule Roe versus Wade and Planned Parenthood
00:20:41.480 v. Casey. There's a, there's a decent chance. I spent a long time talking about this last night
00:20:46.120 with Senator Ted Cruz on our podcast verdict. So that, that episode will be coming out sometime in the
00:20:51.780 next couple of weeks. And Senator Cruz is hopeful. He thinks there's a very good chance. He's more
00:20:58.720 hopeful after the oral arguments in the new abortion case than he was beforehand. So let's say there's
00:21:04.480 a chance. Well, at that point, it will, it will return the issue to the state level. And here's what,
00:21:09.620 here's the biggest fear that Republicans have about the court overruling Roe versus Wade.
00:21:15.340 They fear that right now the Democrats look terrible. Their poll numbers are in the gutter.
00:21:21.880 The Republicans are looking really, really great to win back the house in 2022 and the White House in
00:21:26.840 2024. But if next spring, the Supreme Court overrules Roe, maybe that electoral advantage
00:21:34.080 will disappear because the Democrats will be so motivated to go out and vote to kill babies and
00:21:39.060 that, that they'll actually keep the house maybe, and they'll keep the Senate and they'll maybe keep the
00:21:44.280 White House in 2024. The polls don't back this up. No one, no, no real people actually vote on abortion
00:21:52.180 to, to support abortion. Political elites do in the Democratic Party. Very ardent blue-haired
00:22:02.240 political activists do. Blue-haired meaning the young, crazy, radical people, not the older women.
00:22:07.260 I know it's confusing when you refer to the blue hairs. Those guys care, but those are very small
00:22:12.000 groups. In terms of the great number of actual voters, no one votes on this. According to Politico,
00:22:20.200 42% of respondents to their poll said they would vote for a candidate who does not align with their
00:22:26.660 views on abortion. 42%. We're told this is the most important, you know, touchstone pivotal issue
00:22:32.560 that'll decide elections. 42% don't care whatsoever. Only 32% said that, that a candidate's stance on
00:22:40.760 abortion will determine their vote. Now, a candidate's stance on abortion very well might determine my
00:22:47.100 vote as a pro-lifer, okay? I think that's true for a lot of people in the pro-life movement.
00:22:51.900 But that's 32% of all Americans. I'm just not convinced this is going to be a decisive issue.
00:22:56.360 Another 26% were unsure or had no opinion on the matter. I've long suspected that this was the case.
00:23:01.960 Most people don't like abortion. Even the ones who will go along with it and support it,
00:23:06.040 they acknowledge it's a bad thing, right? They're at the very least of the idea that it should be
00:23:10.360 safe and rare, safe, legal, and rare. The shout your abortion crowd is a very small,
00:23:15.560 very insane political minority. And if this poll is true, then the left is absolutely devastated
00:23:22.440 politically because it means that their one big issue that they're hanging their hopes on
00:23:29.380 is a mirage for them at the electoral level. You know, when you want to cover up,
00:23:37.460 when you want to feel really good, when you want to present yourself to the world and you want to
00:23:42.420 feel comfortable doing it, you should check out Mizzen and Maine. I love Mizzen and Maine and here's
00:23:48.820 why. I love dress shirts, okay? I love the look of dress shirts. I am basically of the opinion
00:23:55.880 that a man should never walk out in public without a collar on, okay? So at least a polo shirt,
00:24:00.440 all right? But, you know, you can't work out in that kind of clothing, generally speaking. You know,
00:24:06.880 not that I work out a whole lot, but, you know, you can't really do that. Sometimes the feel just
00:24:11.540 isn't great and they feel kind of rigid and stuff. Well, so Mizzen and Maine fixed all of this.
00:24:15.220 They've got the comfort and flexibility of your favorite athletic wear with the fit and style of a
00:24:20.340 custom dress shirt. It's lightweight, it's breathable, it's moisture wicking.
00:24:23.680 It is really incredible stuff, especially, you know, I'm a member of a particularly perspiring
00:24:29.720 community known as the Italian Americans, and so if you do sweat a little bit, their stuff is
00:24:35.500 absolutely incredible. I love it. It looks great. The style is exceptional and you will never feel
00:24:41.200 a more comfortable shirt in your life, the polos or the Oxford shirts. Whether you're updating your
00:24:46.520 wardrobe to head back to the office or you're just looking for a new winter flannel, there's great
00:24:50.640 news. If you go to MizzenandMaine.com right now and use promo code Knowles, you'll get $35 off any

00:26:02.380 Today, we'll be right back with a lot more.
00:26:14.160 For many years, the Republican Party elite believed that pro-life advocacy was a fringe
00:26:23.380 issue that was going to hurt them electorally and it was really going to turn off people.
00:26:27.160 And the minute you mentioned supporting life, you were just going to lose elections because so many
00:26:31.880 people were motivated by defending abortion. And it's just not true. And here's my, there are polls
00:26:38.000 that show that that's not true. But here's some really good evidence that it's not true.
00:26:43.940 South Dakota Republican Governor Kristi Noem is appealing a district court ruling that stops the
00:26:49.680 state from enforcing part of a state law that would require a woman to consult with a crisis pregnancy
00:26:56.300 center before having an abortion. So it's this very, very modest pro-life law. It's good pro-life
00:27:00.880 law, but it's very, very modest. And some federal court strikes it down. So Kristi Noem in South Dakota
00:27:06.100 is, is taking this further up the courts. Okay. I have no doubt that Kristi Noem is pro-life. I'm
00:27:13.760 not, I'm really not questioning her pro-life bona fides. But one thing that we have learned about
00:27:19.780 Governor Noem in recent months and years is that she is a little more of the moderate variety of
00:27:27.380 Republican. She's a little more of the risk averse variety of Republican that doesn't want to get
00:27:32.880 terribly involved in the cultural issues. And she's going to squish a little bit on, for instance,
00:27:37.520 transgenderism. And she's going to say, no, it's okay. We can let boys compete against girls at the
00:27:41.680 college level. And I don't want to upset the chamber of commerce too much. She's, she's a moderate
00:27:45.700 governor. I really don't even mean this to disparage her. You know, we need, we need a big coalition of
00:27:51.520 Republicans. But the reason, yeah, whatever, whatever they say, we need to, well, let's bring in all the
00:27:55.580 moderates. Okay, fine. But pro-life is a winning issue. And no matter what Kristi Noem's views on
00:28:04.780 pro-life, I have no reason to question that she supports life. I suspect that the fact that this
00:28:11.560 is a winning issue is playing into her calculation. That it is so mainstream now to support life and to
00:28:18.460 oppose abortion or to discourage abortion, that even the moderates, even the risk averse are doing it.
00:28:26.500 Something has changed. A tide has started. You're seeing it in the courts. You're seeing it at the
00:28:31.840 level of electoral politics. You're seeing it in grassroots advocacy. It is totally cool. It is
00:28:37.960 totally mainstream to be pro-life. That Overton window has shifted considerably. Not just since Roe v.
00:28:44.620 Wade, even since I was a kid. Very, very mainstream. Now, speaking of various factions of the GOP,
00:28:53.680 my friend Dan Crenshaw is under fire right now because of comments he made about Freedom Caucus
00:29:00.440 and the conservatives and the moderates. And the comments he made are wrong. So I'm not going to
00:29:06.540 defend the comments he made, but I am going to offer an exit ramp to people who have fallen into the
00:29:13.400 same sort of error that, unfortunately, Dan has in this case. Take a listen.
00:29:17.220 There's two types of members of Congress. There's performance artists and there's legislators.
00:29:23.740 Now, the performance artists are the ones that get all the attention. They're the ones you think
00:29:28.100 are more conservative because they know how to say slogans real well. They know how to recite the
00:29:33.860 lines that they know that our voters want to hear. Let me tell you guys something. In the first two
00:29:40.100 years of Trump's presidency, when Republicans were in control, when every single time we were voting
00:29:46.360 on Donald Trump's agenda, who do you think was at the top of that list voting with Trump? And who do
00:29:51.660 you think was at the bottom? A lot of names you would recognize were at the bottom of that list.
00:29:56.920 A lot of names you would recognize are at the top of that list. Number two is probably going to make
00:30:03.220 you cringe a little bit. It's Adam Kinzinger. Vote him with Trump almost 99%. He was number two.
00:30:10.300 When it was at the bottom, everybody in the Freedom Caucus, all of them. We have drifters in our midst.
00:30:18.460 I don't think he's a terrible, awful guy who necessarily needs to be cast into the outer darkness
00:30:23.800 where there is wailing and gnashing of teeth. I think there are actually a fair number of
00:30:28.320 Republicans and people to the right of center who would go along with this kind of thinking.
00:30:34.900 And I just think it's because of a misperception of what's really going on, right? On two fronts,
00:30:41.580 both on the Trump administration and on the members of Congress. So he says here, he says,
00:30:47.360 Adam Kinzinger, who is just disgraceful, just an absolutely disreputable squish,
00:30:53.800 he's just, he's just awful. He makes Liz Cheney look like Ronald Reagan. Okay. It's just,
00:30:59.600 he's just terrible. He's saying, well, Kinzinger voted with the Trump agenda a lot of the time.
00:31:04.460 Yeah, sure. He did. I have no doubt about that. Trump did a lot of things, lest we forget,
00:31:11.080 that weren't that great. I gave a speech on one of them just a couple of days ago at the Colorado
00:31:15.460 Christian University. One of the Trump administration's signature achievements was a
00:31:19.280 jailbreak bill. It was a bill to let criminals out of prison. I don't say this to diss Trump.
00:31:24.620 Trump is one of the toughest conservative politicians I've seen in my lifetime. I admire
00:31:28.420 him greatly. I voted for him twice, but that was a bad bill. He shouldn't have voted for that or he
00:31:32.940 shouldn't have promoted that. There were, I think, squish elements in his administration that promoted
00:31:37.560 it and he went along with it and it was a bad idea. A fair bit of the Trump administration agenda,
00:31:43.220 in part because he was constrained by the establishment arm of the GOP, a fair bit of
00:31:49.480 it was just the kind of regular old chamber of commerce, moderate stuff that we've seen before.
00:31:54.380 And so, so sure, you can have, you can have a voting record where you align with even someone
00:31:59.840 like Trump a lot of the time, but on some crucial issues you might, you might break. And so what,
00:32:03.900 what Dan is saying here is there's a difference between the showboaters and the real serious
00:32:08.560 legislators. And those eccentric freedom caucus people, they're just showboaters who talk a good
00:32:12.460 game, but they're not really talented or whatever. And the ones who are squishes like Kinzinger or Liz
00:32:20.460 Cheney, they're the real serious legislators. And I just think that Dan is overstating the shortcomings
00:32:28.780 of conservatives. And I think he is overstating the virtues of the squishes. Okay. It's, it's very easy
00:32:36.800 to pile on someone like Lauren Boebert, another friend of mine, or Marjorie Taylor Greene. It's
00:32:42.720 very easy to, all the media, they found her Facebook posts and she has said some kooky things
00:32:47.420 in the past. And so we got to pile on, it's very easy to do that, especially when it's being repeated
00:32:51.480 by the, the left-wing media all the time. Because they seem, they're not polished. They're not
00:32:57.340 sophisticated. They're not, they say things that are a little eccentric that even their supporters
00:33:01.680 sometimes say, oh, that was a little far. Oh, I don't know about that. Oh gosh, I, how can I defend
00:33:05.820 that? But I think their hearts are in the right place. I think generally those conservatives have
00:33:14.620 their finger on the pulse of what actually matters. I, I think that generally they do a good job.
00:33:22.180 And I think generally the squishes don't have their finger on the pulse of what actually matters.
00:33:27.180 And I think on, even if they vote 99% of the time with the conservatives on those crucial issues,
00:33:32.160 they squish. And what they end up doing, people like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, is they end
00:33:36.700 up serving merely as court gestures in the kingdom of liberalism on the crucial political matters,
00:33:41.760 when it really matters on the presidential election, on impeachment, on the January 6th nonsense.
00:33:47.980 What do they do? They ignore the Republican party. They ignore the conservative base. They do
00:33:52.360 worse than ignore it. They denigrate the conservative base. They go on CNN of all places.
00:33:56.880 And waste all of their time attacking fellow Republicans.
00:34:01.580 They're on the, on the important, when it counts, not just on voting to cut taxes,
00:34:05.700 which everyone can agree on, not just on the easy votes, but on the really tough ones,
00:34:10.360 the January 6th committee or whatever crap Nancy Pelosi's pushing on the really important moments,
00:34:16.440 Kinzinger and Liz Cheney squish. And how do they squish in the most flamboyant showboaty way possible?
00:34:24.240 You think Marjorie Taylor Greene is a showboater? Tune into CNN to watch Adam Kinzinger.
00:34:29.840 It's like watching a drag show. It's like, it's so, it's so over the top and sensationalist.
00:34:35.780 But, but it doesn't seem that way all the time because of this facade that the left-wing
00:34:40.480 establishment puts on.
00:34:42.160 Where Kinzinger, he's the very serious one, you know, and he wears a tie and he speaks in these
00:34:46.280 very serious tones and he's, he's, oh, and then, and then whoever the lib interviewer is,
00:34:51.380 they'll say it's really serious and they'll talk about January 6th, the greatest insurrection
00:34:56.460 ever. Whatever you think about January 6th, not only was it not the most dangerous insurrection
00:35:04.200 in America in history, it wasn't the most dangerous insurrection in America that year.
00:35:10.120 That would be BLM and Antifa that burned city after city for six to eight months.
00:35:16.240 It's not even close. It's not even close. Okay. So I understand. The reason I wanted to
00:35:22.860 take a moment to talk about this is because I don't, I don't think that whenever a right-winger
00:35:29.820 goes in and starts, you know, saying lines that you might hear on CNN that necessarily we need to
00:35:36.740 just throw them overboard or, or push them even further in, in that direction. I think we have
00:35:42.220 to offer an exit ramp and say, look, I get why you can look at an Adam Kinzinger when he goes on CNN
00:35:48.500 and, and, and, and say, oh gosh, he seems so serious. I get how you can be tricked into that.
00:35:56.400 I get how you can see a news report about Marjorie Taylor Greene's Facebook posts and you could be
00:36:00.660 tricked into thinking this is a, a terrible, awful person and a threat to America. But it's,
00:36:05.860 it's just not true. It's just not true. That Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney are not more serious
00:36:13.620 legislators than Marjorie Taylor Greene or Lauren Boeber. They're much less serious legislators.
00:36:19.300 Okay. They are much more flamboyant showboaters. Okay. It's just that the show that we're watching
00:36:25.260 is, is purporting to be reality, but that show is on C it's crafted by CNN and big tech.
00:36:31.620 And it's just, it's just bogus. Speaking of the House Freedom Caucus,
00:36:36.540 Paul Gosar. Paul Gosar is a member of the House Freedom Caucus. He's one of the more
00:36:40.800 right-wing members of Congress. He has come out to decry the treatment
00:36:46.360 of those alleged insurrectionists and terrorists from January 6th.
00:36:51.420 It's been nearly a year has passed since the treatment of political prisoners held in
00:36:55.620 detention facilities in Washington, DC in relation to the events on January, January 6th. And it is
00:37:01.560 appalling. The physical conditions described by my friends of these inmates can only be described
00:37:06.740 as inhumane. These are not hardened thugs, murderers, or gang members with long histories of crimes.
00:37:12.420 These are not unruly or dangerous, violent criminals. These are dads, brothers, veterans, teachers,
00:37:18.700 all political prisoners who continue to be persecuted endure the pain of unjust suffering.
00:37:24.460 Mr. Biden, Attorney General Garland, why are you so interested in ruining the lives of these folks
00:37:29.540 instead of equal justice? Why won't you publicly release the hours and hours of video surveillance
00:37:35.160 taken on January 6th? What are you afraid of? What are you hiding? The heart of this country is equal
00:37:42.340 treatment, especially by the courts. The public demands and the defendants deserve equal justice under the
00:37:47.640 law. What is being described by these political prisoners is nothing short of human rights
00:37:52.340 violation. The silence from the ACLU and Amnesty International is deafening.
00:37:59.800 I gave this speech on America's under-incarceration problem. I gave that speech at Colorado Christian
00:38:06.140 a couple of days ago. You can watch it on YouTube. It was with YAF, Young America's Foundation,
00:38:10.780 at the Centennial Institute there. And one of the arguments for letting criminals out of jail that
00:38:19.420 the libs and some of the squishes put forward is that America has the highest incarceration rate in
00:38:24.820 the world. We have the highest prison population in the world. So therefore, we obviously have to let
00:38:32.280 some of them out of prison. The question that matters is not how many people are in prison.
00:38:38.120 The question that matters is, what kind of people are in prison? Are violent thugs in prison? Good,
00:38:45.500 they should be. That's where violent thugs are supposed to go. Or is it political dissidents who
00:38:50.920 are in prison, like we see in China? Well, that would be bad. That's not exactly the kind of thing
00:38:54.860 that you want. America generally does not imprison political dissidents. The nearest thing we have to
00:39:03.400 political dissidents in prison right now are the January 6th people. And it's not because they
00:39:09.320 didn't do anything wrong. I'm sure a great many of them did do things that were wrong. It's not that
00:39:13.320 they're totally innocent and they're in there merely for their political views. It's that they're in the
00:39:18.540 can on trumped up charges. So BLMers go in and loot stores and burn buildings and burn whole cities down
00:39:28.920 and they get off the hook. In Manhattan and in the Bronx, they are released from prison
00:39:35.800 or their charges are just missed or they're greatly reduced. And that's happened for most of them who
00:39:42.460 were arrested last year. Meanwhile, the January 6thers who go in and they, I don't know, they've
00:39:49.120 got the horn hat on and they dance around and maybe they take some pictures and right. Those people,
00:39:54.200 maybe they break a window. I don't know. Those people are thrown into solitary confinement indefinitely.
00:40:01.120 One of them was killed. One of them was shot by a cop. The people on January 6th did not kill anybody.
00:40:07.340 The only, the only people who were killed in that political violence was, was Ashley Babbitt from,
00:40:15.700 who was one of the January 6thers. Same cannot be said of BLM who killed dozens of people. So it's the,
00:40:20.820 it's the nearest thing we have to imprisoning political dissidents here. And, and the House Freedom
00:40:28.220 Caucus, those eccentric showboating people, they're the ones calling it out. Okay. And it's, and it requires
00:40:34.560 a lot of political guts to do that because, because the media have crafted this narrative. But it's,
00:40:41.480 it's very important to, to call it like it is right now. Okay. It's, if you're stuck in the echo
00:40:47.040 chamber of the mainstream, of the establishment media, legacy media, the left-wing media, if you're
00:40:53.060 stuck, then it's, it's, it's a little difficult to perceive that. But, but if the right builds,
00:40:59.660 builds its own media apparatus, if the right actually goes in and highlights important stories,
00:41:04.560 and tells the stories that the, the left doesn't want them to, then, then one can notice it a little
00:41:09.620 more clearly. Speaking of crime, you know that there is this crime wave going on all over the
00:41:16.560 West Coast. There is an, an organized crime wave where looters are going in and just robbing stores,
00:41:24.740 CVS, Walgreens, that kind of thing. AOC was just asked about this. Said, well, what, you know,
00:41:31.460 you're all about abolishing the police and abolishing prisons and letting all the criminals out. But
00:41:36.460 there's all this, this huge crime spree going on. Isn't that a problem? And so AOC's response is not
00:41:44.080 to change her position. Her response is not to say, oh yeah, you're right. Okay. I guess my ideas
00:41:52.000 didn't work. Maybe we shouldn't close all the prisons. Her, maybe we shouldn't abolish the police
00:41:57.700 departments. Her response is also not to double down and say, well, it's perfectly fine. It doesn't,
00:42:03.860 doesn't matter. Sure. There's a crime wave, but for my vision of justice, that's what we need to have.
00:42:10.120 Her response is just to deny reality. Her, her response is to just put her head in the sand,
00:42:16.620 put her fingers in her ears and say, la, la, la, la, la. I can't hear you. I can't hear you.
00:42:20.960 But she said, quote, a lot of these allegations, I don't do a good AOC impression. A lot of these
00:42:26.200 allegations of organized retail theft are not actually panning out. I believe it's a Walgreens
00:42:31.720 in California cited it, but the data didn't back it up. That's what she's saying. It's just,
00:42:35.940 it's just not real. It's just fake. It's being made up by the right-wing media echo chamber.
00:42:40.800 Is it? Is it? So the, the Associated Press report, the Associated Press, you know,
00:42:46.660 that infamously right-wing news outlet, the Associated? No, pretty left-wing actually says,
00:42:51.420 quote, national retail groups last month estimated the annual losses to be in the tens of billions of
00:42:57.220 dollars from this stuff. Just last Friday, authorities in the San Francisco Bay area conducted
00:43:06.300 what they described as one of the largest retail theft busts in California history. They uncovered
00:43:12.400 upwards of $8 million worth of merchandise from CVS, Target, and Walgreens. That's just in the San
00:43:17.940 Francisco Bay area. So you might say, yeah, sure, retailers are losing billions, but you know,
00:43:21.440 it's kind of a weird year and maybe it's because people aren't shopping as much. Well,
00:43:24.780 how do you explain the San Francisco, the San Francisco cops finding $8 million worth of stolen
00:43:30.500 merchandise? That's not just a guy here or there going in to get some bread for his family. That is an
00:43:35.920 organized crime spree that is being, that is being done by gangs of criminals and that is being
00:43:42.520 encouraged by left-wing politicians. The lib way of solving problems is, is to deny that the problems
00:43:51.260 exist at all. I don't think I'm being hyperbolic here. Their way of solving problems is to deny that
00:43:59.300 they exist at all and hope they go away or hope that people don't notice. This is true of abortion.
00:44:03.880 But the way to solve the problem of abortion, to deal with the problem, is to pretend that a baby
00:44:09.480 isn't a baby. We can see the baby on the sonogram. We know it's a baby. We know philosophically it's
00:44:15.120 a baby. We know scientifically it's a baby. But what they say is, nope, never mind. I have this
00:44:21.180 ideological vision and so I'm going to have to deny the reality of that baby and just not acknowledge
00:44:25.720 it. La, la, la, I can't hear you. On crime, well, this is what AOC is doing. No, it's not,
00:44:30.200 it's just not happening. It's not real. If you say it's real, you're a racist or whatever.
00:44:35.700 It's not happening. La, la, la, la, la. Education, you've got these failing schools. What is,
00:44:41.020 what does the left say? Nope, no problem. Get rid of charter schools. Get rid of homeschooling.
00:44:46.520 There's no, there, nothing that you will do to reform education is acceptable because there's
00:44:52.160 no problem in the first place. La, la, la. Failing schools, people's lives being ruined.
00:44:55.320 Transgenderism. A man pretends to be a woman, thinks he's a woman, wants to be a woman.
00:45:02.680 But he's a man. Well, no, he's not. La, la, la, la, la. We're going to deny that reality.
00:45:07.140 Doesn't, it doesn't work. Nobody benefits from denying reality. But so much of the left
00:45:15.460 political program is to try to redefine reality, right? That's the purpose of political correctness
00:45:22.480 is to redefine reality by redefining all of the words. John F. Kennedy, when he says in his speech,
00:45:28.660 his famous speech that was repeated by countless Democrat politicians, some people see things that
00:45:32.520 are and say, why? I dream things that never were and say, why not? Right? Where he's actually
00:45:37.560 quoting a play by George Bernard Shaw and the line, which Kennedy didn't know, is the line is coming
00:45:42.060 from the serpent in the garden of Eden tempting Eve. He's quoting the devil. He's saying it as though
00:45:46.380 it's inspirational. Some people see reality and accept it, but I, I ignore reality and indulge in
00:45:53.640 fantasy. And that's really great. That's what he's saying. Speaking of the garden of Eden, this is
00:45:57.500 what Whitaker Chambers said. He said, communism is not the newest political ideology. It's the second
00:46:03.320 oldest. Began in the garden of Eden when the serpent told Eve, ye shall be as gods.
00:46:09.080 Ye shall be as gods. Forget reality. You, you in your own mind, you will craft reality. Doesn't work
00:46:15.400 out very well. Hasn't worked out for any of those people. Going back to the garden of Eden, actually,
00:46:19.300 has not worked out very well at all. Speaking of crime and of denying reality,
00:46:26.380 I've got to get to the Jussie Smollett trial. I've got to get to it. It's much more important
00:46:31.520 than the Ghislaine Maxwell trial, if you ask me, because we actually are learning new things.
00:46:35.680 So Jussie Smollett, now he's changing his story a million times and apparently had a little bit of a
00:46:40.400 weird relationship with those dudes that he set up to go pretend to rob him and say it's MAGA country,
00:46:44.520 even though they were giant. You know, they pretended to be white supremacists, but they
00:46:47.440 were giant Nigerian dudes. So now what Smollett is trying to do to get off on this trial is he's
00:46:55.180 just trying to pester the prosecutor and play the race card and play the victim. So the prosecutor here
00:47:01.420 was reading text messages from Jussie Smollett, right? These are messages to and from Jussie Smollett.
00:47:07.780 And in it, Jussie Smollett uses the N-word. You know the N-word? The N-word, it's the only word that
00:47:12.940 we're not allowed to say. It has the sacred significance of the name of God for the ancient
00:47:18.020 Israelites. We're not allowed to ever say the N-word, but Jussie Smollett said the N-word.
00:47:22.360 And so the prosecutor reading the texts says the N-word. And then Jussie Smollett says,
00:47:26.780 hey, you can't use that word. Don't stop using that word. Stop using the word that I used.
00:47:31.520 And the prosecutor said, well, I'm not good. What do you want me? I'm reading your texts, dude.
00:47:35.900 No, say a different word. Call it the N-word. Don't say the N-word. You have to call it the N-word,
00:47:39.140 you know, the N-word. And the prosecutor says, no, I think I'm just going to read the text. I'm not
00:47:43.000 going to edit your language. This is a perfect example of the logic that animates modern liberalism
00:47:51.920 and leftism. Don't do what I did. Hey, you can't do what I did. Kind of ties in with the Freedom
00:47:57.540 Caucus stuff because the Freedom Caucus tends to take the political fight to the left. And then people
00:48:03.700 who are a little bit more moderate or a little more genteel, they say, well, we can't do that.
00:48:07.300 That's wrong. We can't engage in some of the tactics that the left engages. And then we'd be
00:48:12.800 just like them. And basically, they're saying we need to indulge in this kind of, no, don't do what
00:48:18.800 I did. But it's not going to work. We should never do things that are immoral or unjust. But as a
00:48:23.860 tactical matter, we can't just let the libs get away with everything. We can't let them get away with
00:48:29.080 having their own completely different set of standards than the ones they hold us by, whether
00:48:33.280 that is in the courts, whether that is in prisons, whether that is in the media, whether that is in
00:48:38.960 politics generally. Cannot do it. Got to take the fight to the libs. I'm Michael Knowles. This is
