00:00:30.000 After now two full years of being called conspiracy theorists and murderers 1.00

00:00:35.300 for opposing the stupid face masks, 1.00

00:00:37.680 conservatives and normal people everywhere are being vindicated 1.00

00:00:41.520 as even prominent liberal public health figures are coming out against mask mandates.

00:00:48.040 CNN's medical expert, Leanna Wu,

00:00:50.800 explains why it is so important to ditch the mask mandates as soon as possible.

00:00:56.400 You say we can start removing at least some coronavirus restrictions.

00:01:01.700 Now, tell us why.

00:01:02.860 Well, I agree with Colorado, with many other local and state jurisdictions that are beginning

00:01:10.440 to lift government mandates.

00:01:12.540 And I think this is the key.

00:01:13.980 I'm not saying that we should be stopping masking,

00:01:16.540 but rather that this needs to shift from a government requirement to an individual decision.

00:01:22.160 The government can't keep on telling our citizens that this is a five alarm fire all the time.

00:01:27.540 People are just going to start tuning it out and not pay attention.

00:01:30.220 They'll be desensitized.

00:01:31.660 And so what needs to happen is we need to end the state of emergency

00:01:34.860 and preserve the ability of public health authorities to reinstitute

00:01:39.340 mandates in the future if we see more and more dangerous variants later.

00:01:43.600 Now, if Wu wants to preserve the credibility of public health gurus,

00:01:47.940 I think she's probably about 18 to 24 months too late for that one. 0.81

00:01:52.620 But did you catch the reasoning there?

00:01:54.000 She's saying that we need to end the mask mandates not to preserve the public health,

00:02:00.060 but to preserve the authority of the public health officials.

00:02:05.380 She's making not a scientific or a medical argument, but a political one.

00:02:10.560 If the ruling class doesn't lighten up on the masks soon, she fears,

00:02:15.360 no one will listen to them on the masks or anything else in the future.

00:02:19.340 And she's right.

00:02:20.960 It is pure politics, as some of us were saying from day one.

00:02:26.060 You know, I hate to say I told you so.

00:02:27.600 I'm Michael Knowles.

00:02:28.600 This is The Michael Knowles Show.

00:02:36.700 Welcome back to the show.

00:02:37.780 My favorite comment yesterday is from Vinnie Durham,

00:02:40.420 who says no matter what happens to Jimmy Carter in the next few years,

00:02:44.740 he will always vote Democrat.

00:02:46.860 That is true.

00:02:48.300 Jimmy Carter is going to be voting Democrat well into the 2050s,

00:02:52.680 the 2080s, probably well into the 2120s.

00:02:57.840 You know, and look, people have to plan for the future.

00:03:00.200 You've got to plan for your financial future,

00:04:13.720 That is altoira.com slash Michael.

00:04:16.740 The masks are now and have always been primarily a political symbol.

00:04:25.420 Whatever medical or scientific utility or lack of utility that they ever had, that was always secondary to the masks as a political symbol.

00:04:34.900 And now, the liberals who are telling us to get rid of the mask mandates, the very same liberals who encouraged the mask mandates for a very long time, they are making arguments to get rid of them on political grounds.

00:04:48.440 The Democrat governor of New Jersey, Phil Murphy, just went on Jake Tapper's show on CNN.

00:04:55.020 And he said, we're going to get rid of the mask mandates in schools.

00:04:58.420 And Jake Tapper gave him a layup.

00:05:00.680 This was such an easy question.

00:05:02.400 This should have been a slam dunk.

00:05:05.420 He said, what is the scientific argument for the mask mandates and for now for getting rid of them?

00:05:12.400 Just get just we follow the science.

00:05:14.140 Tell me the science, governor of New Jersey.

00:05:17.000 And Phil Murphy falls silent.

00:05:20.340 There's no question that masking in our schools since the beginning of the school year has been a very smart public health step.

00:05:29.040 I think we've had just over 2,600 cases of students with COVID positive since the beginning of the school year.

00:05:38.820 That's out of 1.4 million kids.

00:05:41.880 So it's a pretty stark piece of evidence, I think, that this has absolutely worked.

00:05:48.580 But you've got to meet the moment.

00:05:50.440 You try always to not undershoot the moment and put lives at risk or overshoot the moment and add more stress and mental health challenges to the system.

00:05:59.880 And we think this plan of a month notice is going to get that as right as we can.

00:06:06.840 Yeah.

00:06:06.960 But have you seen data that definitively proves that these mask mandates have worked?

00:06:13.940 I mean, the numbers you just presented are impressive.

00:06:16.220 But are they different from the numbers in states where they didn't have mask mandates?

00:06:21.860 Yeah, again, I know Jersey, Jake, the best.

00:06:24.260 But I'm highly confident and I'm sure our health officials could say it definitively.

00:06:30.880 There's no question they've worked.

00:06:33.280 Yeah, Jake, Jake, I don't have any numbers in front of me and I don't know anything about anything.

00:06:38.140 But I'm confident that they worked.

00:06:39.900 So they worked really, really well and now we're going to do the opposite policy, which is also going to work just as well.

00:06:47.220 Kudos to Jake Tapper here for at least kind of pushing back.

00:06:50.760 It was an easy question.

00:06:51.780 So the New Jersey governor should have had an answer to it, but he doesn't have an answer because he doesn't have any proof that the mask mandates in schools did anything whatsoever.

00:07:00.520 Doesn't have any proof at all.

00:07:03.520 It was political.

00:07:04.740 The masks were very useful to the Democrats who wanted to reshape our culture and our economy and our politics for the past two years of 15 days to slow the spread.

00:07:17.440 And now they're getting some diminishing returns on this.

00:07:20.240 They're getting a ton of pushback, especially from parents, which is why you're seeing the mask mandates go away from schools in particular first.

00:07:28.160 And they're saying, OK, politically, we can't keep this up anymore.

00:07:31.420 Liana Wu has said the same thing.

00:07:32.940 Dr. Fauci has made similar statements.

00:07:35.500 When Dr. Fauci has been caught in contradictions on his views on public health measures, he says, well, you know, we get this.

00:07:41.560 There's a limit to what we can have people do.

00:07:43.520 Right.

00:07:43.720 So it's political.

00:07:44.820 So it's not scientific.

00:07:46.780 OK.

00:07:47.320 Speaking of schools beyond COVID and the mask mandates, a Virginia school board has just voted to approve some true radicalism.

00:07:56.660 There was a proposal put forward to this Virginia school board to fly another flag next to the American flag at all of their schools.

00:08:05.380 That other flag is the BLM flag.

00:08:08.700 BLM is a Marxist organization that says that the United States is intrinsically oppressive and unjust and bigoted, that seeks total revolution in the United States.

00:08:19.660 And this Virginia school board just voted to fly the two flags side by side.

00:08:24.780 The board approves the students request to fly the Black Lives Matter flag and the board will review this matter annually in alignment with the equity policy.

00:08:35.160 All right.

00:08:36.160 All right.

00:08:37.420 So I guess if it's clear, I could do it.

00:08:41.820 And all those in favor, raise hands.

00:08:43.680 And then if we have lack of clarity, do the roll call.

00:08:48.040 Is that OK?

00:08:49.120 I'm sorry.

00:08:49.980 This shouldn't be that complicated.

00:08:51.400 But OK.

00:08:52.320 So all those in favor of the motion, signify by raising your hand.

00:08:57.540 And Alan, I can see.

00:08:58.620 So it is three against, six in favor.

00:09:07.580 And so the flag will continue to fly.

00:09:12.440 So the flag is going to fly.

00:09:14.500 OK.

00:09:15.800 We are now going to have the BLM flag fly next to the American flag. 0.62

00:09:19.660 But the BLM flag opposes the American flag.

00:09:23.080 There's a contradiction here.

00:09:24.320 The BLM movement really got off the ground because people started protesting the American flag on football fields and a lot of other places.

00:09:32.280 So these are contradictory symbols.

00:09:35.780 And I bet you if you asked liberals around America, which flag do you more identify with?

00:09:42.780 If you ask real, real activists, leftists and liberals, which flag do you more identify with?

00:09:48.240 The BLM flag or the American flag?

00:09:50.080 I bet most of them would tell you the BLM flag.

00:09:52.660 Beyond BLM, if you showed a flag, the LGBT, the rainbow flag or the new rainbow flag where there's a bunch of races in it, you know, like black is now a sexual orientation or something. 0.73

00:10:03.120 That flag or the American flag, which do you identify more with?

00:10:07.000 I would bet that most ardent leftist and liberal activists would tell you the rainbow flag.

00:10:14.540 Flags are important.

00:10:17.180 Words are important.

00:10:18.440 I wrote a whole book about this called Speechless Controlling Words, Controlling Minds.

00:10:21.140 The left reshapes the culture through symbols and words in particular.

00:10:26.380 Words are just symbols.

00:10:29.120 Flags are signs of conquest, okay?

00:10:32.020 That's why conquering armies carry flags and standards.

00:10:36.040 They're a sign of hegemony.

00:10:37.520 This is what we stand for.

00:10:39.060 And so when the left reshapes all of our symbols, the left is totally reshaping the country.

00:10:45.280 This should not be permitted.

00:10:46.320 We should use our politics to stop this.

00:10:50.140 We should ban the flying of these radical flags that oppose America next to the American flag.

00:10:55.800 We should ban the flying of them in our schools and our public buildings entirely.

00:11:00.900 There was a big fight over the rainbow flag at U.S. embassies.

00:11:04.780 What do we stand for?

00:11:06.180 If we stand for the red, white, and blue truth, justice, and the American way, you're going to rally a lot of Americans to your cause.

00:11:11.820 If we stand for pride flags flying in Kandahar, you're going to have more and more and more division.

00:11:16.840 You're going to have more and more strife.

00:11:18.160 You're going to have an abolition of the traditional American nation. 0.90

00:11:22.780 That is one of the downsides of living in our current culture.

00:11:25.840 And when there's so many downsides, it's important to get some upsides, which is why I would recommend you check out GetUpside.

00:11:50.920 There is no catch.

00:11:52.220 There is no catch.

00:11:52.960 There is only cash back.

00:11:54.380 How do you like that?

00:11:54.940 It goes straight to your bank account, if you like.

00:12:03.740 It's super simple.

00:12:05.080 Right now, gas is going through the roof.

00:12:24.220 Speaking of conquest, great news out of the Supreme Court.

00:12:29.520 The Supreme Court has just upheld redistricting in Alabama.

00:12:36.060 You know, every some number of years, varies a little bit by the state, but every so often,

00:12:43.200 states will redraw their congressional maps.

00:12:46.520 They redraw them because congressional representation is based on the population.

00:12:51.600 So sometimes you add seats, sometimes you take away seats.

00:12:54.300 So in Alabama, they're redrawing their maps a little bit.

00:12:57.420 And the way that they've redrawn their maps helps Republicans.

00:13:01.420 Republicans get more seats.

00:13:02.740 So the United States Supreme Court just ruled to stay a lower court ruling that would have

00:13:10.780 required the Alabama legislature to add another Democrat-leaning congressional district.

00:13:15.540 This is a 5-4 ruling.

00:13:17.460 It was the conservatives versus the liberals.

00:13:19.900 And then John Roberts, the chief justice, sided with the liberals.

00:13:23.920 I don't know how much longer we need to have these headlines.

00:13:28.760 John Roberts sides with the liberals.

00:13:31.020 He joins the liberals.

00:13:32.220 I think he joined the liberals.

00:13:33.400 I think he's on the liberal side at this point, okay?

00:13:35.920 I don't think he's a conservative vote.

00:13:38.260 He's sort of a swing vote, but he very often sides with the liberals.

00:13:41.120 But in any case, this will keep the current representation in Alabama.

00:13:46.380 Six Republicans, one Democrat in the congressional mix.

00:13:51.520 This is a wonderful thing.

00:13:53.000 You will always hear people speak out against gerrymandering.

00:13:56.900 You'll hear Democrats speak out against it.

00:13:58.780 You'll have Republicans speak out against it.

00:14:00.740 Gerrymandering is fine.

00:14:03.100 It's fine.

00:14:03.680 What that means is you draw congressional districts based on how to maintain your political power,

00:14:09.880 okay?

00:14:10.100 And it comes from, there was a politician named Jerry, and he drew a congressional district

00:14:14.940 to look like a salamander.

00:14:16.040 I think that's where the word comes from. 0.99

00:14:18.060 But sometimes these districts look kind of ridiculous. 0.90

00:14:20.320 They twirl around, but that's how you keep, you know, say 60% Republican, 40% Democrat. 0.66

00:14:24.980 So you're always going to win.

00:14:26.160 Okay.

00:14:27.160 I think gerrymandering is just fine.

00:14:28.920 I don't know what the alternative is.

00:14:30.460 The alternative to gerrymandering, the alternative to partisan drawing of districts is going to

00:14:36.880 be some allegedly nonpartisan commission outside of the electoral accountability, which

00:14:43.180 is almost always going to lean Democrat anyway.

00:14:45.180 That's just how these nonpartisan coalitions go.

00:14:48.300 And so I don't see what the alternative is.

00:14:51.400 You always hear about the Republican gerrymandering.

00:14:53.380 You never hear about it in New York.

00:14:54.740 What they just did in New York, by the way, is as outrageous, at least, as anything the

00:14:59.260 Republicans have done.

00:15:00.400 The New York State Democrats have gerrymandered the map to give Democrats possibly a net three

00:15:07.980 new seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.

00:15:11.100 So the new map draws 22 Democrat-leaning districts and only four Republican-leaning districts.

00:15:19.020 This cuts the number of Republican-leaning districts in half.

00:15:22.360 But you don't hear boo about this.

00:15:24.020 You don't hear about the attack on voting rights by New York.

00:15:27.840 You don't hear about that this is Jim Crow part two in New York.

00:15:32.040 You don't hear about any of this sort of stuff because it helps the Dems.

00:15:35.020 And so they won't even call it gerrymandering there a lot of the time.

00:15:38.380 But the Dems do it. 0.97

00:15:40.060 The Republicans do it.

00:15:41.240 This is what happens when people get power.

00:15:43.220 This is a consequence of the people putting these politicians into power.

00:15:46.700 So be it.

00:15:47.380 We got some good news on this front in Tennessee.

00:15:49.900 My free state of Tennessee that I live in, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, has just approved

00:15:54.280 a once-in-a-decade redistricting map to split up Nashville into multiple congressional

00:16:02.300 seats and gives Republicans another seat.

00:16:05.480 This is awesome.

00:16:06.640 I love it.

00:16:07.360 Great stuff.

00:16:09.700 Under this new map, any Democrat who's trying to run in Nashville is going to have a significant

00:16:14.880 uphill challenge against a Republican.

00:16:18.060 Love that.

00:16:18.940 So of the news of the day, we got Alabama, Tennessee, and New York.

00:16:22.800 We got crushed in New York.

00:16:24.360 The Republicans are doing well in Tennessee and Alabama.

00:16:26.720 That's politics, baby.

00:16:28.080 I'll take it.

00:16:28.800 We can take the wins that we can get.

00:16:31.100 All right.

00:16:31.480 It's not exactly a cleanly drawn map, but it will help conservatives.

00:16:37.580 Now, when you really want to make sure that things are clean, I would recommend you check

00:16:41.620 out Naturally It's Clean.

00:16:43.180 Inflation is skyrocketing.

00:16:46.360 Inflation is cleaning out your pockets with bad policy geared against the middle class.

00:16:51.220 That is why it has never been more important to rethink how we shop and choose brands that are effective, safe, in it for the long haul, and really reasonably priced.

00:17:02.020 That would be our partner, Naturally It's Clean.

00:17:04.700 They can help.

00:17:05.560 Naturally It's Clean is dedicated to providing the most effective cleaning products for your

00:17:10.380 home while reducing your cost, reducing your waste, and reducing other harmful chemicals in your home.

00:17:16.660 Their safer chemistry solutions use nature's powerful plant-based enzymes to clean areas of your home, like the bathroom, the floors, and, of course, the kitchen.

00:17:28.280 You're using those enzymes to actually break it down.

00:17:30.280 So, how can this help you fight inflation, you might ask?

00:17:35.160 Well, it's very simple.

00:18:03.760 The reason I bring up all of this, especially in Tennessee, is because in this new district being drawn in Tennessee, there is a major battle.

00:18:13.760 The battle for this House seat involves Morgan Ortegas.

00:18:18.760 She worked for the Trump administration.

00:18:20.480 She just got Trump's endorsement for the seat.

00:18:22.900 Robbie Starbuck, who's a fairly well-known conservative media figure.

00:18:27.160 And then a number of people who have actually lived in Tennessee for a long time and have been elected in Tennessee.

00:18:34.600 The former Speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives, a few other local Tennessee politicians.

00:18:42.500 The two leading candidates, at least as far as the media are concerned, are Robbie and Morgan.

00:18:46.980 They have not lived here for a particularly long time.

00:18:50.560 I'm not even sure if they're eligible to run as Republicans because they haven't voted in Republican primaries.

00:18:56.280 But they're getting a lot of attention and Morgan got the Trump endorsement.

00:19:00.080 So Morgan was exploring a run for the House of Representatives and now she's just announced that she's doing it.

00:19:05.920 And she's making the campaign all about Trump.

00:19:08.820 Four years ago, the borders were secure, the economy was humming, and America's enemies were on the run.

00:19:17.440 Morgan Ortegas knows she was there.

00:19:20.600 Morgan worked with President Trump to not just make America great again at home, but America strong again in the world.

00:19:27.160 This is because of years, four years of policies that President Trump put into place.

00:19:32.680 That's why she has the complete and total endorsement of President Trump.

00:19:36.280 Now Sleepy Joe and the Radical Socialists are trying to destroy it all.

00:19:42.200 Ortega serves our country in the Navy Reserve, and she's seen what Biden's weak policies do to demoralize our troops and empower our enemies.

00:19:50.960 Now the Radical Socialists, Big Tech, and the liberal media are colluding to open our borders, lock down our country, and try to cancel anyone who disagrees.

00:20:02.120 But Morgan Ortegas is fighting back.

00:20:04.300 You may have helped spread rest of disinformation yourself for years by promoting this.

00:20:09.760 She'll fight the Radical Left to secure our borders, safeguard our elections, and stand up to Communist China. 1.00

00:20:16.760 Morgan Ortegas.

00:20:18.080 She fought for President Trump.

00:20:20.120 She'll fight for Tennessee.

00:20:21.420 As a rule, I do not get involved in primaries, especially in this primary.

00:20:28.740 I'm friends with Morgan.

00:20:29.660 I'm friends with Robbie.

00:20:31.060 I have met some of the other candidates who are running.

00:20:33.960 And I think that the voters of the district should be able to choose their own nominee.

00:20:39.140 I don't really care.

00:20:40.820 They can duke it out amongst themselves.

00:20:42.560 But I have to bring up this Morgan ad here because it shows you a huge dynamic, not just in this district, but in the entire midterm elections.

00:20:54.180 And that question is not, that question is not who's got more political influence, Morgan Ortegas or Robbie Starbuck or someone who's lived in Tennessee.

00:21:01.780 That question is, how much influence does Trump have?

00:21:08.100 What is Trump's effect going to be on the midterm elections?

00:21:12.580 And what is that going to mean for 2024?

00:21:15.600 In 2022, are candidates going to run away from Trump?

00:21:19.400 Are they going to embrace Trump?

00:21:20.920 If they do embrace Trump, what's that going to do for them?

00:21:24.080 Who's going to win in these primaries?

00:21:26.320 If the Trump candidate wins in the primaries, who's going to win in the generals?

00:21:29.400 This is all setting up 2024.

00:21:34.760 Morgan is obviously leaning hard on Trump.

00:21:38.900 We'll see which other candidates do that around the country.

00:21:42.580 And we'll see what that means for 2024.

00:21:44.500 If the Trump influence is weak in 2022, that gives a huge opening for someone like a Ron DeSantis.

00:21:51.660 And if you're looking at the governors, someone like a Ted Cruz or a Josh Hawley, if you're looking at the senators, maybe a congressman, sometimes congressman run too.

00:21:59.400 It's going to completely shift the dynamic.

00:22:01.980 Now, speaking of Trump, Adam Kinzinger, speaking of Trump and Congress, Adam Kinzinger, who is nominally a Republican, but all he ever does is help the Democrats as a member of Congress.

00:22:12.760 He just went on MSNBC and he says the most important thing for Republicans to be doing right now in Congress, the most important thing to do two years after the 2020 election is to speak out against Trump.

00:22:27.740 I always wonder, you and Liz Cheney pretty much standing alone and the hundreds of other Republican congressmen and women, do you ever talk to them personally off the record and say, guys, you know, you know the truth.

00:22:42.380 You you you're you're you're you're a bright person.

00:22:44.960 You're educated.

00:22:45.660 You see what I saw you. 0.75

00:22:47.000 You're you're not dumb.

00:22:48.060 Do they just look at you and go, well, we want to keep our job.

00:22:50.780 Do they I mean, what happens behind the scenes?

00:22:52.700 I always wonder because you're sitting next to these people and you're eating with them and you're dining with them.

00:22:57.980 So what is their explanation to you personally off the record when you talk to them?

00:23:01.660 That's a really good question, because it can be any any number of things.

00:23:05.600 So if it's somebody that I know isn't like crazy, right, you know, a normal person, you'll you'll hear him say, well, if look, I just have to win my primary because if it's not me, trust me, the guy I'm running against, he's really bad.

00:23:17.600 I'm like, OK, great.

00:23:18.880 But, you know, at some point you have to stand up.

00:23:20.800 Some of them, it's hey, you have to quit trying to tell me how to do my job.

00:23:26.160 You'll get that occasionally.

00:23:27.040 If I ask somebody, for instance, if they've even tweeted anything or made a statement at all in opposition to what Donald Trump said, have you have you come out against Trump?

00:23:38.100 Have you sent tweets? 0.98

00:23:39.160 No, Adam, shut up. 0.99

00:23:40.300 Stop bothering me. 1.00

00:23:41.420 Have you?

00:23:42.240 Why won't you do it?

00:23:44.040 And I love the way he phrases the question.

00:23:46.080 What do your Republican colleagues say when you talk to them?

00:23:48.860 He doesn't talk to them because he spends all of his time talking to Democrats like you, Donnie.

00:23:52.820 So he doesn't talk to them at all.

00:23:54.920 Now, what he does is I love the question.

00:23:59.260 He says, what do they tell you off the record? 0.97

00:24:01.520 Hey, Adam, you're a complete snake. 0.87

00:24:03.080 So what do they tell you in confidence? 0.98

00:24:04.520 I want you to tell me and all the Democrats on air.

00:24:06.580 He doesn't really talk to them.

00:24:07.680 He talks to Democrats because Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney and a number of other Republicans exist not to advance conservative priorities.

00:24:15.860 They exist to prop up the dominant liberal party, the liberal ruling class.

00:24:24.420 Their job is to be the court jesters in the kingdom of liberalism.

00:24:27.920 You remember when some of these people used to be strong conservative fighters?

00:24:33.340 I vaguely remember when we had strong conservative fighters.

00:26:23.500 Lainey, where have you been?

00:27:16.080 where we will discuss the making of the film as well as our fight.

00:27:19.180 To take back the culture from the left.

00:27:21.800 Backstage, we'll stream right before shut-in at 7.30 Eastern, 6.30 Central, The Daily Wire's

00:27:27.000 YouTube channel.

00:27:27.620 Do not miss it.

00:27:28.280 We'll be right back with a lot more.

00:27:41.840 Speaking of anti-Trump Republicans or former Republicans or former conservatives or I don't

00:27:47.760 even know what you want to call them.

00:27:49.340 There was news yesterday that Jonah Goldberg and Steve Hayes, who were long-time writers

00:27:56.580 for National Review, Weekly Standard, they had been Fox contributors, then they left Fox

00:28:02.400 in a big huff and they said Fox is very irresponsible and they're too right-wing and they've gone crazy

00:28:08.320 and so we don't want to be at an irresponsible news channel anymore.

00:28:11.800 It was announced that they're at a new news channel, two new news channels, I guess.

00:28:18.340 Jonah Goldberg is at CNN and Steve Hayes is at NBC.

00:28:25.040 I wasn't going to even mention this story because there's so much infighting on the right.

00:28:31.900 I think we need to spend most of our energy going after the left, but this was just so

00:28:36.780 preposterous I had to bring it up.

00:28:40.200 CNN, NBC is bad enough, but CNN.

00:28:43.460 CNN, these gentlemen left Fox because they said the reporting was irresponsible, but they

00:28:50.540 made a point in their exit note that they published for everyone.

00:28:56.540 They said, we won't be occupying the permanent anti-Fox seats at CNN or MSNBC.

00:29:04.040 Cable news in general is a big part of the problem.

00:29:07.220 And then one of them goes to NBC and the other one goes to CNN.

00:29:09.700 CNN, so they did exactly what they said they wouldn't do.

00:29:13.380 They say Fox is irresponsible and what do they do?

00:29:15.680 They go to journalistic outlets that are much, much less responsible, much, much more reckless,

00:29:23.560 much, much less honest than the one that they left.

00:29:28.820 I'm not even saying that it's necessarily bad to go and work at those places.

00:29:34.440 If you're going to stand firm for conservative principles and the conservative movement and

00:29:39.460 conservative policy priorities, I think of Rick Santorum.

00:29:42.140 Rick Santorum was at CNN for a fairly long time until he refused to become a squish and 1.00

00:29:48.060 so they booted him out.

00:29:49.720 But he went on CNN and he would make the conservative points and they would tolerate him briefly and

00:29:54.880 then finally they said, no, sorry, you're too conservative.

00:29:56.880 But clearly the reason that Jonah and Steve Hayes have been hired by CNN and MSNBC or NBC

00:30:03.500 broadly is because they are making the left talking points about the Republican Party,

00:30:11.140 about Donald Trump, about the present state of conservatism and the Republican Party.

00:30:16.180 They are there to attack conservatives as the nominal conservatives so that the liberal audiences

00:30:24.980 can feel like they're getting a balanced perspective when they're not.

00:30:27.540 They're just getting almost the same exact talking points from two people who pretend to be in

00:30:33.260 opposition to one another.

00:30:35.220 The reason I bring it up again is not to go after Jonah or Steve Hayes personally.

00:30:40.460 I don't spend a lot of time thinking about the anti-Trump Republicans.

00:30:45.000 I don't think their influence among the actual conservative movement or the Republican Party is all that

00:30:51.060 great.

00:30:51.640 And even if it were, I don't, you know, I don't really care to focus on all this little

00:30:55.480 infighting on the right or among people who used to be on the right, who aren't really that

00:31:00.580 right wing anymore.

00:31:02.200 The reason I bring it up is to show you two lies or mistakes or errors about the anti-Trump movement

00:31:13.500 that really burst onto the scene in 2015 and 2016 when Trump ran.

00:31:19.680 There were two big issues.

00:31:22.300 One, the first lie was this is just about Trump.

00:31:27.960 They said this is not about conservatism.

00:31:30.740 This is not about policy.

00:31:32.380 This is just about Trump. 0.99

00:31:33.300 Trump is a bad man.

00:31:35.100 And so we're just coming out against Trump, but we're still conservatives. 0.97

00:31:38.320 We're still Republicans.

00:31:39.960 It's not.

00:31:41.080 It's not.

00:31:41.660 Trump was elected six years ago.

00:31:43.900 Trump hasn't been president now for over a year.

00:31:46.900 He's gone.

00:31:47.720 He's playing golf in Mar-a-Lago and you're still, all you people are talking about is

00:31:52.660 Donald Trump.

00:31:54.140 Adam Kinzinger, he's saying, why aren't you tweeting about Trump?

00:31:56.680 What are you talking about?

00:31:57.480 Trump hasn't even been on Twitter in a year.

00:31:59.900 Trump hasn't been the president in a year.

00:32:02.560 Why are you still, you, why are you so, this, why are you still working against other Republican

00:32:08.660 candidates?

00:32:09.500 Why are you still working against Republicans retaking the house?

00:32:12.720 Why are you still going on TV and attacking Republicans and conservatives?

00:32:16.020 Because it's about more than Trump. 1.00

00:32:18.000 Because Trump represented something, which was a knocking away of a bunch of old stupid 1.00

00:32:23.500 platitudes and a bunch of losing with dignity, even though the people who would propose losing 0.99

00:32:28.220 with dignity didn't generally have a lot of dignity themselves.

00:32:31.740 And because Donald Trump wanted to win and he wanted to shift American policy on trade and

00:32:35.540 he wanted to shift American policy on immigration and he wanted to shift, he wanted to actually

00:32:40.080 do something and defend America.

00:32:44.720 And some people didn't like it and they pretended it was all about Donald Trump palling around 0.96

00:32:49.480 with porn stars. 0.96

00:32:50.340 It wasn't. 0.56

00:32:51.460 It's about a lot more than Trump.

00:32:53.200 And then the second lie, this is not a binary choice.

00:32:55.800 You heard this a lot from anti-Trump Republicans, especially in 2016.

00:32:59.400 But in 2020 too, the handful that remained, they said, this election is not a binary choice.

00:33:04.220 Yes, it is.

00:33:07.220 It is.

00:33:08.120 Elections in America are binary choices.

00:33:10.660 You can pick the one guy or the other guy.

00:33:13.140 And if you are a conservative who does not vote for the conservative candidate, you are

00:33:16.840 giving support to the liberal candidate and vice versa.

00:33:20.380 That is a binary choice. 0.97

00:33:22.700 Trump palled around with porn stars. 0.76

00:33:25.640 Donald Trump, he used vulgar language privately with people and sometimes publicly too, I guess.

00:33:31.240 And so I'm going to give at least my tacit and sometimes explicit support to a candidate 0.88

00:33:37.380 who wants to kill almost a million babies a year and take away our civil liberties and 0.99

00:33:42.500 upend the American way of life.

00:33:44.900 That doesn't seem very principled to me.

00:33:47.880 And then I guess here is the proof, right?

00:33:50.660 Two of the more prominent anti-Trump conservatives who even say, we're not going to be so unprincipled

00:33:56.480 that we're going to go over and just take up the anti-conservative conservative seats

00:34:00.820 at CNN and NBC.

00:34:03.640 And what do they do?

00:34:04.160 They do exactly that.

00:34:06.140 I'm beginning to think.

00:34:07.820 Now, stay with me here.

00:34:09.560 I'm beginning to think that the people who oppose Donald Trump for his supposed lack of

00:34:15.300 principles might not be all that principled themselves.

00:34:19.740 I know it sounds shocking.

00:34:21.540 It sounds crazy.

00:34:22.360 But I'm beginning to think that.

00:34:27.760 Don't be like that.

00:34:28.860 That's not good.

00:34:29.620 You want to stand for something.

00:34:31.320 And you know what you don't want to stand for?

00:34:34.480 This guy, this current president, Joe Biden.

00:34:37.120 You want to talk about binary choices.

00:34:40.860 You want this.

00:34:41.300 If you did not support Trump in 2020, you supported this guy.

00:34:47.200 And so behold, the great, dignified, mature, responsible president that you helped to elect.

00:34:55.940 I don't want to get going because I have to keep you here too long because you know all

00:35:00.040 what I've said and you know what I've done and you know what we're doing and you know

00:35:04.240 what I know what you're doing.

00:35:05.920 Yes.

00:35:07.140 As Franklin Roosevelt, frankly, very famously said, we have nothing to fear but fear itself.

00:35:14.980 And Ronald Reagan famously said, Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.

00:35:20.760 And I'm sure we will be reciting this for many years to come.

00:35:24.960 Joe Biden famously said, play it again.

00:35:27.280 I don't want to get going because I keep you here too long because you know all what I've

00:35:30.900 said and you know what I've done and you know what we're doing and you know what I know

00:35:35.260 what you're doing.

00:35:36.940 I don't want to get going because you know and hear what I said.

00:35:41.380 But we all, we know all, you know and I know and you know and I know what you're doing.

00:35:47.220 So there, there actually is a, a weird kind of coherence to this.

00:35:55.520 The, the key word or the key phrase here is, you know, and you know, and you all know,

00:36:01.840 and you all know, and you know all, and I know, and you know that I know, and I know

00:36:05.380 that you know.

00:36:06.520 What the, you know signifies is Biden's confidence that he won't be called out by the press.

00:36:13.980 If any Republican sounded like this, you would have a call to, to remove him from office

00:36:22.420 for mental incapacitation for any Republican president.

00:36:25.980 And, and you actually did get some of these calls when Donald Trump said far more coherent

00:36:29.700 things when he was in office.

00:36:32.720 But the, you know, the, you know, the, you know, the, you know, that I know that, you

00:36:35.660 know, signifies that, look, we're on the same team press.

00:36:39.280 You're not going to call me out.

00:36:41.500 It's okay.

00:36:42.240 It's cool.

00:36:42.720 We all know what we're doing because we're on the same team.

00:36:47.900 One of the crazier parts of the Biden administration is that he is among the more coherent Democrats

00:36:54.480 in power.

00:36:55.320 Maybe not in terms of his syntax and grammar, but in terms of his policy, he is no less

00:37:06.620 coherent than any of the other ones.

00:37:08.660 Kathy Hochul, governor of New York.

00:37:10.100 She took over after they ousted Andrew Cuomo.

00:37:13.080 Kathy Hochul is now presiding over a major spike in crime, especially in New York. 0.73

00:37:18.940 It's going on around the country though, too.

00:37:21.220 And Kathy Hochul was called out for this and they said, hold on, Governor Hochul, maybe it's

00:37:26.020 all your jailbreak policies that are letting all the criminals out.

00:37:29.080 Maybe that has something to do with the crime.

00:37:30.580 And she says, absolutely not.

00:37:32.240 Show me the data.

00:37:33.520 Show me the data that my pro-crime policies are having an effect on crime.

00:37:38.460 She says, quote, I'm looking, I'm looking for the data that shows me that bail reform,

00:37:44.060 that's the euphemism for a law that Kathy Hochul supported that had a wide sweeping effect on 1.00

00:37:53.140 crime in New York.

00:37:54.260 That bail reform is the reason that somehow crime is going up.

00:37:57.980 She said this in an interview with the Post Journal.

00:38:02.180 I'm focused on what I have control over right now.

00:38:04.780 Show me the data.

00:38:05.680 Show me the data.

00:38:07.920 So we actually, we do have the data.

00:38:09.700 There's new data from the state's office of court administration shows that, now this covers

00:38:15.200 arrests made from July 1st, 2020 to August 30th, 2020, the first two months of the new law.

00:38:20.220 It shows that the rise in crime is, in fact, largely due to repeat offenders being released

00:38:26.280 back onto the streets after the arrest because that's what the law allowed them to do.

00:38:30.120 So there you are.

00:38:31.100 We've got some data.

00:38:31.840 We've got a lot more data, too.

00:38:33.040 But beyond that, what do you mean show me the data?

00:38:35.300 You signed a bill that puts criminals back on the street, and now you're asking me to

00:38:39.140 prove to you that putting criminals back on the street is causing crime to go up.

00:38:42.860 That's like saying, that's like, show me the data that rainstorms make the ground wet.

00:38:48.280 Where's the data?

00:38:48.880 Okay, I guess we've got the data, but it's also, if you've got two brain cells to rub

00:38:52.300 together in your head, you can put two and two together here.

00:38:56.080 Of course that's happening.

00:38:58.820 And Democrats know this.

00:39:00.380 They know that their pro-crime policies, soft on crime policies, have led to more crime.

00:39:06.360 That's what happens.

00:39:07.560 And some are trying to be subtle about it, like Kathy Hochul in New York.

00:39:10.340 And she says, well, I don't know.

00:39:11.220 We don't have the data.

00:39:12.000 It's very complicated.

00:39:13.160 There are a lot of factors at play, and she's trying to hide it.

00:39:15.300 Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

00:39:16.960 And try to follow which shell the card is under.

00:39:20.880 No.

00:39:21.820 No, some Democrats are a little less subtle about it.

00:39:24.380 Cori Bush, Democrat representative in the U.S. Congress, she is still endorsing defund the

00:39:32.020 police.

00:39:32.880 She says, quote, my colleagues keep telling us to wait.

00:39:35.660 They keep telling us defunding the police and investing in communities won't work. 0.99

00:39:39.240 Well, their policies keep ending up with police murdering black people. 0.98

00:39:43.880 Enough patronizing. 0.95

00:39:45.160 Listen to the movements that are telling you how to save lives.

00:39:50.200 We're going to save lives by letting all the criminals run roughshod over the communities.

00:39:55.740 What we need to do is stop policing people.

00:39:57.960 We need to invest in communities.

00:40:01.180 You know the best investment you can make in crime-ridden communities?

00:40:04.840 Absolutely, dollar for dollar, the best investment you can make.

00:40:09.060 Putting more cops on the street to arrest the criminals.

00:40:14.260 That is the best investment you can make. 1.00

00:40:18.200 This is the sort of thing that only ideologues and idiots do not understand. 1.00

00:40:23.520 Maybe I repeat myself. 1.00

00:40:28.980 Especially in New York.

00:40:30.400 New York is a great example for this because there was a big movement, especially among white 0.75

00:40:34.360 liberals, to stop a policy from the Bloomberg era called stop and frisk.

00:40:39.240 Stop and frisk was a very pro-cop, proactive policy to fight crime.

00:40:47.000 And they said this is unfair because black people are disproportionately being targeted.

00:40:53.520 By the stop and frisk policies, which I guess was true. 0.93

00:40:56.740 If you look at, not at proportions of crime or criminal neighborhoods, but if you just

00:41:03.080 look at percentage of the population, maybe that's true.

00:41:06.500 But what they didn't tell you was that not only were the criminals disproportionately black, 0.98

00:41:12.100 but the cops were disproportionately black. 0.97

00:41:14.200 And not only were the cops disproportionately black, but the people calling the cops to arrest 0.99

00:41:18.920 the criminals were disproportionately black. 0.99

00:41:20.620 Because the neighborhoods were disproportionately black. 0.88

00:41:23.520 So you've got, yes, there is a, there is a racial element at play, I guess, but it's

00:41:29.500 affecting everyone involved.

00:41:30.720 The cops, the victims, and the criminals, and, and the, the neighborhoods broadly.

00:41:37.140 What, what, what the ideologues here do not understand is that if you want to help black

00:41:44.600 neighborhoods, if you want to help black victims, then you, you need proactive policies

00:41:52.500 to stop crime.

00:41:54.340 This is the, this is the basic thing a government can do is protect your life and your, and, and

00:42:00.640 your safety and put the criminals in prison.

00:42:04.760 The Democrats don't get it.

00:42:05.760 This is a hugely popular message on, among every single demographic, basically everywhere

00:42:11.320 in the country.

00:42:11.960 And the Democrats don't get it.

00:42:15.720 According to data collected by the FBI, more police officers were intentionally killed in

00:42:22.080 the line of duty last year.

00:42:23.740 Biden's first year in office, by the way, than any year since 1995.

00:42:30.520 The, the FBI's data found that 73 officers were intentionally killed in 2021.

00:42:37.940 Felonious killings of law enforcement officers skyrocketed.

00:42:40.880 They increased by more than 58.7% in a single year.

00:42:43.900 Uh, this is way up 73 law enforcement officers feloniously killed compared to only 46, still

00:42:51.560 a pretty high number, but 46 in 2020 and 48 in 2019.

00:42:55.340 It's not just cop killings that are way up.

00:42:57.900 Uh, homicides are way up.

00:42:59.480 Shootings are way up. 1.00

00:43:00.160 All sorts of violent crime are way, way up.

00:43:03.340 Not going to play well for the Democrats.

00:43:05.580 Not good for America.

00:43:07.100 Very simple for conservatives to capitalize on this.

00:43:13.280 The way, the way that conservatives are going to win in the midterms is not by taking Adam

00:43:17.360 Kinzinger's advice and, and tweeting about how much they hate Trump.

00:43:22.760 It's not by taking the advice of CNN and MSNBC contributors and tweeting about how much

00:43:28.960 they hate Trump.

00:43:29.640 It's going to be doing very basic things.

00:43:31.620 Hey, don't, don't let the criminals loose.

00:43:35.100 Hey, don't fly radical leftist flags in the classroom.

00:43:39.520 Hey, don't force my kid to wear a face covering that even you people don't believe it.

00:43:45.240 Cause you're going to, you, Stacey Abrams, for instance, is going to take, you're going 1.00

00:43:49.140 to take a photo with all of our kids and you're going to make the kids wear the stupid face 1.00

00:43:52.300 covering and you're not going to wear one either. 1.00

00:43:54.640 Very simple stuff.

00:43:56.960 Can, can they do it?

00:44:00.260 Hey, we don't want this radical takeover of symbols that take over of our words with politically

00:44:07.180 correct language, take over of our flags with the new radicalism.

00:44:10.700 We don't want that.

00:44:11.520 This reminds me, this is a slight side point, but it's very important.

00:44:14.640 I have some friends and family members who are very liberal, who use this phrase, and

00:44:21.280 maybe you've heard it too.

00:44:22.080 Have you heard this phrase, COVID positive?

00:44:24.600 Say, I'm COVID positive.

00:44:27.340 Oh, he's, he's COVID.

00:44:29.540 Are you COVID positive?

00:44:31.520 COVID, the hell is COVID positive?

00:44:33.880 And it just means you have COVID that you've tested positive for, and so you, you, you

00:44:39.140 have COVID, but you don't say I'm flu positive.

00:44:42.140 Oh, I'm cold positive.

00:44:43.720 Yeah.

00:44:44.160 I tested cold positive.

00:44:46.380 Yes.

00:44:46.820 I tested strep throat.

00:44:48.040 I'm strep throat positive.

00:44:49.400 You don't say that.

00:44:50.320 You say I have strep throat.

00:44:51.360 I have the flu.

00:44:52.300 I have a cold.

00:44:52.920 So why are people saying I'm COVID positive?

00:44:57.620 And why is it only liberals who are saying, I've never once heard a conservative say I'm COVID

00:45:02.800 positive.

00:45:04.340 Why?

00:45:05.040 Well, we know that language matters.

00:45:06.680 We know that symbols matter.

00:45:07.660 We know this is why the left in particular has spent a great deal of energy and money

00:45:11.560 and time trying to remake all the symbols.

00:45:14.600 Why?

00:45:14.920 They, they do it so that they can make a mild cough sound like you're about to get full

00:45:21.180 blown AIDS.

00:45:22.120 That's why they do it because it sounds like HIV positive.

00:45:24.740 To say he's COVID positive.

00:45:25.820 Gosh, it must be serious.

00:45:26.720 He's got positive.

00:45:28.180 He's got positive in the diagnosis.

00:45:30.560 This is similar to what the Democrats do with global warming.

00:45:36.360 They say, if you are skeptical that the world is going to end in now, what, eight years?

00:45:40.280 If you're skeptical that the sun monster is going to blot out life on earth within the

00:45:44.280 decade, you are not just called, well, a normal person, a reasonable person is what you should

00:45:49.080 be called.

00:45:49.540 But you're not just called a skeptic of catastrophic global warming.

00:45:53.740 You're not just called, um, someone who is doubtful about this.

00:45:58.660 You're not what you're called a climate denier, a climate denier, as though, as though you deny

00:46:05.800 the ozone, you disbelieve in the ozone or you disbelieve in clouds or wind.

00:46:10.660 You're a denier.

00:46:11.680 Why do they call you a climate denier?

00:46:13.720 It's not a scientific term.

00:46:15.260 It's a term to, to lump you in with Holocaust deniers.

00:46:19.080 Well, it's this, it's the same thing with, with COVID positive. 0.97

00:46:21.820 It's so silly.

00:46:23.320 I, I, I laugh when I hear it, but they're using the words in particular, all of these

00:46:29.140 things, just like the whole point of the masks was to make everyone really, really nervous

00:46:33.660 all the time.

00:46:34.260 Wow.

00:46:34.500 We're in a totally different world.

00:46:35.940 I've never lived in a world where everyone's wearing masks all the time.

00:46:38.380 This must be dangerous.

00:46:39.580 We better suspend our normal way of life.

00:46:41.500 We better suspend all of our rights.

00:46:43.140 God, this is dangerous.

00:46:44.320 The left sold us the masks on the premise that we, it'll help us get back to normal.

00:46:48.020 If you all wear the masks, we'll get back to normal.

00:46:49.760 That was always complete BS.

00:46:51.540 That was never going to happen.

00:46:53.280 You don't get back to normal by completely changing the way you present yourself in public,

00:46:57.440 including in your face, where you, where you express what you're thinking, what you

00:47:02.160 believe, what's going on, your emotions.

00:47:04.580 No, of course, it was going to have the opposite effect.

00:47:07.560 Same thing here.

00:47:08.440 I'm, you're COVID positive. 1.00

00:47:09.460 No, I'm, I'm positive that you're a total lunatic. 0.97

00:47:12.120 If you use that phrase, speaking of symbols, speaking of symbols, there was a, a, a really 0.98

00:47:20.480 hilarious symbol that's been coming out of the Olympics.

00:47:23.400 So the Olympics are taking place in China right now.

00:47:25.800 You cannot get me to care about the Olympics.

00:47:27.840 You cannot get me to like the Olympics.

00:47:29.580 I don't like it. 0.68

00:47:30.420 It, I think it's hippie kumbaya nonsense.

00:47:33.200 I don't really care.

00:47:33.860 The only sport I like is curling, but regardless, the Olympics are apparently going on.

00:47:38.120 There's a really funny picture of a ski slope or some kind of slope right in front of a

00:47:42.620 power plant.

00:47:43.680 And it looks like it's out of the Simpsons.

00:47:45.340 It looks like a nuclear power plant.

00:47:47.080 And they said, there was an article that came out.

00:47:48.720 They said that the Beijing big air jumps at the 2022 winter Olympics look like a dystopian

00:47:54.740 hellscape.

00:47:56.100 I think that's right.

00:47:57.000 It does look like a dystopian hellscape. 1.00

00:47:59.600 You're spoiling a perfectly good nuclear plant with the stupid Olympics. 1.00

00:48:03.120 Why would you do that? 1.00

00:48:04.360 Why would you, what a blight on that beautiful.

00:48:06.700 I actually don't think it's a nuclear plant.

00:48:08.920 I think it's an old coal plant or a steel mill or something like that.

00:48:13.440 But this is getting a lot of attention.

00:48:16.460 And the, the only reason I'm mentioning the Olympics is there is an American skier, Eileen

00:48:22.120 Gu, who is competing for China in the Olympics.

00:48:25.360 She was born and raised in San Francisco and she's not competing for America.

00:48:30.260 She had the choice.

00:48:30.920 She could compete for America or China. 0.69

00:48:32.380 She chose communist China.

00:48:33.780 She said, I've decided to compete for China in the upcoming 2022 winter Olympics.

00:48:38.380 This was an incredibly tough decision for me to make.

00:48:40.740 I'm extremely thankful for U.S. ski and snowboard and the Chinese ski association for having the

00:48:45.000 vision and belief in me to make my dreams come true.

00:48:47.600 I'm proud of my heritage and equally proud of my American upbringing.

00:48:50.720 In, in other words, thank you America for raising me and giving me everything that I

00:48:55.020 have and being the country that formed me.

00:48:58.060 Bye.

00:48:58.420 I'm going to go compete for communist China now, which is fine. 0.97

00:49:02.320 I hope she has a nice time in China and I hope she never comes back.

00:49:05.820 That's her. 0.88

00:49:06.280 She's choosing to represent that country.

00:49:09.720 She is saying China is my country.

00:49:11.400 Okay, go live in China. 0.94

00:49:12.880 Don't live here.

00:49:13.980 This is, this isn't your country then you've said, it's not me.

00:49:16.580 I didn't kick you out.

00:49:17.380 You left.

00:49:18.100 So you go stay there.

00:49:20.040 If America is to have a future, it needs to be a real country.

00:49:23.800 It's got to have a real flag.

00:49:25.920 It's got to have real people that are loyal to the country.

00:49:28.620 It's got to have a common language.

00:49:30.260 It's got to have common beliefs.

00:49:31.700 It's got to be, it's got to have common practices. 1.00

00:49:34.120 We can't have half the country wearing secular keffias, those stupid masks and half the country 1.00

00:49:38.000 having a completely different. 1.00

00:49:39.060 We've got to agree on things.

00:49:40.980 Okay.

00:49:41.440 We've got to have shared words, have shared symbols, have a real country with real borders.

00:49:46.880 If we don't have that, then we don't have a nation.

00:49:48.900 I'm Michael Knowles.
