00:00:35.720 Good Ranchers, American meat delivered.
00:00:37.580 I care a lot about language.
00:00:39.260 I think language is the main way that the left has upended our culture.
00:00:43.580 I think we've got to be very careful.
00:00:45.020 Do we call a man a he or a she or a this or a that?
00:00:48.260 So I want to focus in on a subset of language right now that is bringing up a lot of confusion.
00:00:53.260 That would be Zoomer lingo.
00:00:55.080 Lingo, so lingo of the generation just below mine, Gen Z, the Zoomers. 0.99
00:01:01.500 My producers have compiled a list of Zoomer terms.
00:01:05.940 They want to see if I can define those terms, if I know what they are, if I know how to use them in a sentence.
00:01:12.440 Let's analyze some Zoomer speech.
00:01:15.280 First word.
00:01:23.840 Yeet.
00:01:24.920 Hey, Tara, you want some?
00:01:29.340 I've heard this word.
00:01:30.600 I've heard yeet.
00:01:32.060 I imagine that yeet is just a sort of primal cry,
00:01:36.400 like the scream of some, you know, pre-civilized savage.
00:01:45.960 Yeet! 0.99
00:01:47.600 Yeet! 0.99
00:01:48.500 But I, so I don't, like, I think it has the same meaning.
00:01:51.820 It's like, ugh, or like, boo, you know, or something like that.
00:01:54.640 I think it is an expression of irrational will and desire.
00:02:00.320 Am I right?
00:02:03.140 Oh, yeah, kid.
00:02:04.360 Nice.
00:02:05.020 Yeet is an exclamation of excitement, approval, surprise, or all-around energy,
00:02:09.560 often as issued when doing a dance move or throwing something.
00:02:12.460 Amazing.
00:02:12.960 All right, we're off to a good start here.
00:02:14.220 This is great.
00:02:14.720 Simp. 1.00
00:02:15.320 Oh, a simp is a pathetic guy who's just trying to get a woman to like him 1.00
00:02:20.960 by being, like, really weak and, like, a big wuss. 1.00
00:02:24.920 Simp! 0.99
00:02:26.580 Simp!
00:02:28.080 Simp!
00:02:28.700 When instead what he should do is be a big Chad,
00:02:31.820 like a cool Chad confident guy 0.91
00:02:33.760 who just doesn't try to suck up to the woman all the time 1.00
00:02:37.080 and then paradoxically or counterintuitively, perhaps, 0.92
00:02:39.800 that actually will get the woman to like him.
00:02:41.460 Yes, simp is a slang insult for men who are seen as too attentive
00:02:45.100 and submissive to women,
00:02:46.040 especially out of a failed hope of winning some entitled sexual attraction
00:02:49.040 or activity from them.
00:02:50.920 Nice.
00:02:51.400 Man, this is, I'm such a zoomer.
00:02:53.160 I'm so hip to the jive.
00:02:54.700 Oh, Stordis, I speak jive.
00:02:57.540 Steez.
00:02:59.000 Steez.
00:02:59.420 I've never even heard this one.
00:03:00.980 Steez.
00:03:04.920 Steez.
00:03:06.100 Like, st...
00:03:07.420 Like, uh...
00:03:09.420 I don't know.
00:03:09.900 It's a unique personal style
00:03:12.380 pulled off with ease.
00:03:14.580 For example, you see in this steez? 0.71
00:03:17.820 I'm going to start using that.
00:03:19.260 Yo, you see in this steez right now?
00:03:21.120 No cap.
00:03:22.260 No cap.
00:03:23.220 Is it like, you know, back when I was a youth,
00:03:26.160 you'd like bust a cap.
00:03:27.600 That would be something that we would often do
00:03:29.280 roaming the streets at night.
00:03:31.040 Good gracious! 1.00
00:03:32.200 I should bust a cap in your ass. 1.00
00:03:34.080 So, I don't know if this cap would refer to that cap. 1.00
00:03:37.100 Like, no, or like, no capitalism.
00:03:39.400 Because they are kind of commies, right?
00:03:40.960 A lot of those zoomers are commies. 1.00
00:03:42.660 Like, an ancap is an anarcho-capitalist. 0.97
00:03:45.640 No cap.
00:03:46.720 Like, there's no top.
00:03:48.180 Like, there's no limit to whatever activity is going on.
00:03:53.080 I'm going to say that.
00:03:53.660 I'm going to say no cap is, like, limitless.
00:03:55.900 The limit does not exist.
00:03:56.920 The expression no cap is slang for no lie or for real,
00:04:02.900 often used to emphasize someone is not exaggerating
00:04:05.840 about something hard to believe.
00:04:07.320 So, I guess I don't get this one right. 0.93
00:04:09.920 No s***. 0.94
00:04:10.680 Okay, all right, fine. 0.98
00:04:11.700 I don't have the producers say that I don't.
00:04:13.340 Stan.
00:04:13.900 Oh, a stan is like a supporter of something
00:04:16.100 or a fan of something
00:04:17.200 or someone that will stand by someone or something else.
00:04:21.280 Yeah, Tim, I wrote you, but you still ain't calling me.
00:04:24.780 Stan is slang for someone who's a very zealous fan,
00:04:26.700 especially if a celebrity or music group.
00:04:28.500 Stan can also be a verb for liking something a great deal.
00:04:32.660 So, right, like, we stan this or that.
00:04:34.660 Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's skincare routine has arrived.
00:04:38.340 So, what am I?
00:04:39.900 I'm three and two right now.
00:04:42.380 I've still gotten most of these right.
00:04:43.740 This is good.
00:04:45.500 Pull up.
00:04:47.420 This is a trick question.
00:04:49.300 Is this that?
00:04:49.920 You know, pull ups,
00:04:50.460 that was the only thing I could do in gym class
00:04:52.160 because I was thin.
00:04:53.860 So, it's like, yeah, but I couldn't do, you know,
00:04:55.700 I'd always be picked last
00:04:56.800 for various sorts of athletic endeavors.
00:05:02.000 Pull up.
00:05:03.820 Is it when you lift your body using your arms on a bar?
00:05:09.160 It's an invitation to come over.
00:05:11.320 Pull up like, huh, well, I've never heard that.
00:05:14.260 Maybe it's because I've never been invited to come over.
00:05:16.040 Okay, I'll pull up.
00:05:17.720 Sus.
00:05:18.900 Sus, I imagine, is short for suspect.
00:05:21.440 I have seen this.
00:05:23.040 I think it's an expression of skepticism
00:05:25.540 or, you know, that some sort of endeavor
00:05:28.820 or person is of a dubious nature.
00:05:30.780 Boy, this is worse than a time I was sussed.
00:05:33.660 Giving the impression that something is questionable
00:05:35.200 or dishonest and suspicious.
00:05:36.480 Okay, all right.
00:05:37.320 Still doing pretty well here.
00:05:39.320 I'm feeling pretty safe in my ability
00:05:41.320 to understand the majority of Zoomer lingo.
00:05:43.640 Addy.
00:05:44.880 An addy.
00:05:45.560 Give me your addy. 1.00
00:05:49.300 Like a, so I think it refers to an address,
00:05:54.840 but I think it's more a virtual address
00:05:57.000 than a mailing address.
00:05:59.320 I don't think it's like, give me your addy.
00:06:00.520 It's like 523 Smith Street or whatever.
00:06:03.000 I think it's like, give me your profile
00:06:05.480 or your email address.
00:06:06.880 I be like, send me your addy.
00:06:08.780 Hop on the push with a baddy.
00:06:10.520 Get on my face with a baddy. 0.99
00:06:12.300 That's a chemical. 0.85
00:06:12.960 There it is.
00:06:17.120 Yeah, an address, especially an email address.
00:06:18.520 Okay.
00:06:19.360 Next up, snatched. 0.93
00:06:21.520 Is this like a sex thing? 0.98
00:06:22.980 I snatched.
00:06:24.260 I assume it's like taken.
00:06:27.000 Like some, like I snatched your lady. 0.98
00:06:29.480 Oh, oh, oh.
00:06:31.020 What happened?
00:06:31.800 What happened? 0.97
00:06:32.980 In drag slang, snat, drag like a transvestite? 0.99
00:06:37.100 Yep. 0.97
00:06:37.640 Okay, so in sort of transvestite slang,
00:06:40.120 snatched is fierce or on point.
00:06:43.800 That is to say, excellent,
00:06:45.680 especially when it comes to personal appearance.
00:06:48.040 So I got that one wrong.
00:06:49.180 I guess it is a weird sex thing, like I said.
00:06:50.780 You really snatched my weave?
00:06:52.880 A wig.
00:06:55.300 So this could be, is it like,
00:06:57.540 is it a slur for white people
00:07:01.140 referring to a slur for black people?
00:07:03.040 Because that was one when I was a kid.
00:07:04.620 Or is it just like a fake hair
00:07:07.620 that you put on your head?
00:07:08.460 I'm going to say either of those two things.
00:07:09.820 Either one, I'm right.
00:07:11.440 Wig is a slang term that means amazing.
00:07:14.120 Hmm, okay.
00:07:15.120 Incredible or awesome.
00:07:16.580 It is typically reserved for
00:07:18.080 when someone is surprised by something
00:07:20.260 in a really good way.
00:07:22.100 So like wig, oh, that's wig.
00:07:24.220 Did you just say wig?
00:07:25.040 Yes.
00:07:25.360 I know, wig. 0.95
00:07:26.920 I feel that already.
00:07:28.520 Bet?
00:07:29.180 Bet is now a slang term?
00:07:31.080 Like to, well, it obviously isn't to gamble.
00:07:33.960 Because if it were to gamble,
00:07:35.280 it wouldn't be Zoom or slang.
00:07:36.480 That's just what the word means.
00:07:37.900 Like bet, like better?
00:07:39.960 Like you better?
00:07:41.140 I'm going to say it's sort of,
00:07:43.000 in some way, an abbreviation
00:07:44.160 or an allusion to betterment.
00:07:46.780 Bet is, yeah, okay.
00:07:48.440 Bet is a slang term of affirmation,
00:07:50.580 agreement, or approval
00:07:51.640 along the lines of cool or I'm down.
00:07:54.400 It can also suggest doubt.
00:07:56.660 Okay, hold on.
00:07:57.340 So I think I, like I thought
00:07:58.660 I kind of was in the ballpark
00:07:59.800 on the first one,
00:08:00.280 but then it says,
00:08:00.920 it can also suggest doubt or disbelief.
00:08:04.000 Like, yeah, sure.
00:08:05.080 So it expresses affirmation and doubt.
00:08:08.800 And I guess it relates both to betterment,
00:08:10.620 like yes, this is better,
00:08:11.580 this is okay, sure.
00:08:12.580 But also to bet, like you bet, right?
00:08:14.500 Okay, so it just means,
00:08:15.420 it's just one of those words
00:08:16.160 that means everything.
00:08:17.960 Bet, bet. 1.00
00:08:18.480 I knew that, slow it down.
00:08:20.020 I'm going to take,
00:08:20.460 I want to take that one as a winner.
00:08:22.700 Fine.
00:08:23.400 Shook.
00:08:24.900 Shook or shooketh. 0.94
00:08:26.660 Shook means I'm,
00:08:28.600 I have heard this before.
00:08:30.120 I believe it means I'm,
00:08:32.300 you know, really taken aback.
00:08:34.540 I am, I am befuddled.
00:08:37.000 I am, my beliefs have been shaken.
00:08:39.440 You know, my, my, my,
00:08:41.080 the fundament of my very person
00:08:43.400 has been upset
00:08:44.620 and has been unsettled.
00:08:46.260 That's, that's what I'm going to say.
00:08:48.480 Whew.
00:08:50.080 Shook is the past tense
00:08:51.020 of the form shake.
00:08:51.920 Used a slang term
00:08:52.600 to describe feelings
00:08:53.400 ranging from discapopulation
00:08:54.780 and fear to rage and delation.
00:08:56.760 Kind of like I'm all shaken up.
00:08:57.680 Yeah, great.
00:08:59.360 TFW, that feel when.
00:09:00.700 It's that feel when.
00:09:01.680 You know that Zoomer lingo real good.
00:09:04.600 TFW or that feel when.
00:09:06.400 Yeah, that's right.
00:09:07.340 That feel, man,
00:09:08.120 I'm such a Zoomer.
00:09:09.180 I'm so, I'm so keen.
00:09:11.860 I'm so keen and hip and cool and jive.
00:09:13.940 It's like he's trying to speak to me.
00:09:15.640 I know it.
00:09:16.260 That feel when is an expression
00:09:17.540 that people use
00:09:18.160 to frame their statement
00:09:19.120 and express their emotions.
00:09:21.080 These can range from relatable
00:09:22.240 to not so relatable situations.
00:09:24.100 It places an emphasis
00:09:24.940 on the emotional content
00:09:26.220 of the sentence.
00:09:27.240 Typically, it can be used
00:09:28.060 to highlight awkward, 0.71
00:09:28.960 ridiculous, uncomfortable,
00:09:30.180 annoying, or odd things 0.97
00:09:31.280 that happen to someone.
00:09:32.680 That feel when you find out
00:09:33.900 Knowles is just a total
00:09:34.920 cool hip jive Zoomer.
00:09:36.480 Okay.
00:09:37.200 That's the next one.
00:09:38.000 Sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk,,-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk-sk».
00:09:54.480 That's what I'm going to say.
00:09:56.160 It's an expression of disapproval.
00:09:58.820 It's an interjection used to convey surprise, happiness, and other intense emotions.
00:10:06.540 It's stereotyped as an overused expression of VSCO girls on social media. 1.00
00:10:13.320 What is a VSCO?
00:10:14.100 I need a further Zoomer dictionary to know what a VSCO girl. 1.00
00:10:19.880 Maybe I don't want to know.
00:10:20.700 It's a photo editing app, apparently, my producers tell me.
00:10:27.320 Okay, I'm like a BMP boy.
00:10:29.900 You know, bitmap.
00:10:30.680 That's what us millennials are like.
00:10:32.500 So do I get credit for that?
00:10:33.720 Because it says surprise, happiness, or other intense emotions.
00:10:36.560 One of which presumably could be disapproval.
00:10:38.720 Do I get credit?
00:10:39.380 Nope.
00:10:39.720 All right, the judges say no.
00:10:41.240 That's fine.
00:10:42.140 Okay, which of these terms will be here to stay and which term should never be used again?
00:10:48.200 Well, it should not be used again because it's very hard to pronounce in English.
00:10:53.220 So that one's out forever.
00:10:54.960 Which one is going to be around to stay?
00:10:56.360 The thing about slang is that the entire point of slang is to be obscure and not able to be understood by older people.
00:11:06.400 It's specifically in language, in group language.
00:11:09.520 So the whole point is that I shouldn't know Zoomer slang.
00:11:12.320 Actually, the fact that I do means that some of the slang is not very effective to keep out the millennials, such as myself.
00:11:18.340 Which is more likely to be around forever, though?
00:11:21.120 I guess Shook. 0.98
00:11:22.700 Shook is probably going to be around for a little longer because it derives from an actual word, like shaken up.
00:11:29.880 Whereas, you know, yeet, I don't think that one's long for this world. 1.00
00:11:35.240 Or like simp, simp is, like, but simp is confusing because it's like you're a simpleton, it could be.
