Summary

It's no wonder so many Canadians have lost trust in the legacy media over the past eight years. It's not just that the media is biased towards the Liberal Party, it's that they are fully in the tank for the Liberals. They can't survive without them because the quality of their content is terrible, and as much as they pretend to be neutral arbiters of truth, they are obviously trying to skew every story to move people with their support still up in the air towards the Liberals, and I think this post perfectly encapsulates this problem.

00:00:00.000 It's no wonder that so many Canadians have lost trust in the legacy media over the past eight
00:00:05.540 years. It's not just that the media is biased towards the Liberal Party, it's that they are
00:00:10.540 fully in the tank for the Liberals. They want Justin Trudeau to win because they want their
00:00:15.680 subsidies to keep rolling in. They can't survive without them because the quality of their content
00:00:20.580 is terrible. And as much as they pretend to be neutral arbiters of truth, they are obviously
00:00:26.060 trying to skew every story to move people with their support still up in the air towards the
00:00:31.020 Liberals. And I think this post perfectly encapsulates this problem. So this legacy media journalist was
00:00:38.020 reacting to this post from Pierre Polyev. I'll go to what this person was saying in just a second here.
00:00:43.500 But Pierre Polyev said, hurrah, he hiked your rent another 10% this year. Another round of applause
00:00:49.140 everyone. And it's a post jabbing at Justin Trudeau going after him because rent had increased in
00:00:55.600 Canada 10% in the year 2023. Now this legacy media journalist, this freelancer, Dale Smith then
00:01:03.240 reacts to this Polyev post by saying, rental increases are provincial jurisdiction. Provinces
00:01:08.960 have control over how much rent can rise in a year. They have the power to stop it from rising that much
00:01:14.340 and they choose not to. Premiers, not Justin Trudeau. Now Dale Smith might say that, well, my Twitter
00:01:21.480 account is just my own opinions. But he does present himself as just a journalist, not an op-ed writer,
00:01:27.220 not just a guy who writes opinion articles. He is somebody who is a journalist. What kind of
00:01:34.020 journalistic skills is he using in this post? He is just basically saying that Polyev can't criticize
00:01:40.760 Justin Trudeau because housing is a provincial matter. And while that's true, it's true in the most surface
00:01:47.140 level ways possible. The federal government obviously does have a lot of control over housing
00:01:52.460 prices. And his pitch that rent control is the solution to this problem is utterly insane. No,
00:01:59.300 you cannot just rent control yourself out of a housing crisis. Rents and housing prices are going
00:02:04.940 up for a reason. And those reasons are taxation, regulations, and immigration. Things that Justin Trudeau
00:02:12.300 has a lot of control over. But no, it's Premier Daniel Smith's fault in Dale Smith's mind. But
00:02:19.460 really, it's not. It's just anybody but Justin Trudeau's fault. Or at the very least, it's whoever
00:02:24.780 Pierre Polyev is not blaming because he just hates Pierre Polyev and he wants Pierre Polyev to lose the
00:02:30.800 next election. This is the character of so many people in the legacy media. Even if they act more neutral,
00:02:36.600 all of their stories are skewed towards naysaying the conservatives, bringing in experts to contradict
00:02:42.660 them, bringing in people to say, oh, this conservative once kicked my dog or whatever.
00:02:47.920 It's always trying to subtly push people towards thinking that the conservatives don't really know
00:02:52.480 what they're talking about. They're not like those intellectual policy wonks in the Liberal Party or
00:02:57.460 the NDP. That's what the media wants at the end of the day, that they present the news in such a way
00:03:02.220 that you think, well, these conservatives really don't know what they're talking about. And I bump
00:03:06.580 into people like that all the time at the doors. It's becoming far less because people are actually
00:03:11.860 being hurt so badly by the Liberal Party's policies that they're no longer willing to just listen to
00:03:17.040 the news and hear that Pierre Polyev is a big rube and you better vote for Justin Trudeau if you're a
00:03:22.320 smart and handsome voter. People don't get won over by that anymore. But you still bump into a few
00:03:28.380 people who think, I'm not dumb enough to vote for the conservatives. If you think that it takes a
00:03:34.540 certain level of unintelligence to vote for a smaller government, then you've been watching way
00:03:39.240 too much cable news. You're watching too much CBC, CTV news, global city TV, because all those outlets
00:03:46.700 are merely sneering at whatever the conservatives say. And these people are mirroring the sneering.
00:03:52.500 How sad is it that I keep running into these men who are in their mid-60s, and yet they
00:03:58.220 have the politics of 18-year-old girls in anthropology in college. It's insane. All
00:04:05.160 these guys are like, I would never vote for the bigoted conservatives. And obviously the vast
00:04:09.680 majority of Canadians at any age group and gender are voting for the conservatives. But it astounds
00:04:15.540 me that you bump into people who are rich because of conservative policies in the past, because they
00:04:20.620 actually let you succeed in the economy. But now they want to sit back home and say,
00:04:24.600 conservatives said something that must be wrong because they're not smart like I and Lisa Laflamme
00:04:31.040 are, like I and Dale Smith are. If you believe liberal party media narratives, despite the fact
00:04:37.520 that every single time the liberals roll out a new program or economic growth policy, it utterly fails,
00:04:44.420 then you're just the fool. You haven't been fooled. You are a fool. So you are fooled.
00:04:49.180 So that should be it for me today. I don't want to go on too long about this. But that Dale Smith
00:04:54.740 tweet really demonstrates what a lot of legacy media journalists truly think about politics.
00:05:00.140 If a conservative says something, it's wrong. If a liberal says something, it must somehow have a
00:05:04.760 little bit of a rub of truth to it. And mark my words, Dale Smith in two months, if Pierre
00:05:09.640 Polyev says anything about health care, he will say that Polyev wants to take away public health care.
00:05:14.820 He wants to destroy the universal system in this country. And he will be mad if I come back at him
00:05:20.920 and say, isn't health care a provincial matter? He'll say, but the federal government has so much
00:05:25.660 control over it. What can you do? Anyways, the give, send, go link for our legal fund is in the
00:05:32.100 description of this video below. And if you live in my riding of Calgary, Signal Hill on the west side,
00:05:37.320 and are a conservative member, make sure to mark me number one on your ballot so we actually have
00:05:41.600 real conservatives representing strong conservative ridings, not just failed pro-lockdown MLAs trying
00:05:47.480 to sneak into different areas or people who are purely running on their resumes because they don't
00:05:52.040 actually have many conservative principles to show you. Anyways, that's it for me today. Have a good one.
