00:01:47.200where opposition parties, media, civil society,
00:01:50.600academics were all read in with non-disclosure agreements.
00:01:53.260in this very closed negotiation, we still have not seen a disclosure around the terms for why
00:01:57.740the Prime Minister walked away from negotiations in August. And all we've seen is a pantomime of
00:02:04.040symmetry that have produced next to nothing for our aluminum, steel, lumber, and automotive workers.
00:02:11.020We haven't seen a single solitary result that alleviates the tariff pressures related to
00:02:15.880the biggest trading partner that Canada has in the United States. And after he called the
00:02:21.220elections he called president trump and it's a movie we saw before in the last set of by elections
00:02:25.220so i think transparency is not exactly something this government's been very good at and sorry to
00:02:28.980the second point there are there any concessions that your party would be okay with making
00:02:32.180we are here to negotiate for tariff-free access to the united states uh to ensure that we marshal
00:02:38.020all of the strengths of canada from our commodity sectors our manufacturing base our advanced
00:02:42.260industrial potential uh to unlock all of that for all canadians and to bring that to bear with
00:02:47.700washington and with the world on our own terms uh and so when it comes to uh negotiations i think
00:02:53.140conservatives would have negotiated this entire deal very differently i think that the poly of
00:02:57.940conservatives especially shavloy majumdar have been doing a really good job of turning this into
00:03:02.580what was originally a defensive issue for conservatives because there is that sort of
00:03:06.740dichotomy the media creates where you know because trump's a republican and the republicans are a
00:03:11.700conservative party ergo the poly of conservatives are like with trump somehow so you can't trust them
00:03:16.340to negotiate a trade deal. But the conservatives have gone from being more defensive on this issue
00:03:21.980and having to be more conciliatory to actually being allowed to be more aggressive, in part
00:03:26.940because of Carney's ongoing failures. Okay, you can say that Trump's erratic and tough to negotiate
00:03:33.820with for a while. But if you're Carney having promised to get a trade deal, eventually that
00:03:39.040excuse runs out. And even your own support of business liberal types who want a trade deal in
00:03:45.020order to kind of boost the economy, those people who entrusted you with their vote will eventually
00:03:49.300get ticked off enough that they no longer really care about the excuses. They just want you gone
00:03:55.860because you lied about your actual ability to solve this issue. But the Carney Liberals, I don't
00:04:01.580think, are going to be able to make Fetch happen in these by-elections because as Shiloh Majumdar
00:04:07.020had said, they did this during the last set of by-elections. Those ones took place in August
00:04:12.440and during the by-elections, Carney was pretending like he was going to get a trade deal signed
00:04:17.700and then he pulled away the carrot at the last minute, walked away from the table,
00:04:21.040did not actually stay at the negotiating table and try and hammer out an agreement that was good for Canadians.
00:04:25.660He walked away for the rhetorical boost that it would give him
00:04:28.960in order to maintain the Liberals' numbers from the previous election in those by-elections.
00:04:34.940Contrary to popular opinion, people look at the by-election victories and say,
00:04:38.760oh my goodness, the Liberals won some of these ridings with a margin of 17%, but if you actually
00:04:43.920look at the 2025 results, they weren't really all that different, and it did disprove all those
00:04:49.100polls out there showing the Liberals nationally running ahead of the Conservatives by 17 or 20
00:04:54.740points in some cases. No, the Liberals are exactly where they were back in 2025, probably around
00:05:01.260four or five points ahead of the Conservatives right now. They bumped up a little bit in some
00:05:05.480ridings and they fell back a little bit in some other ones, it was a pretty typical by-election
00:05:10.180performance. But Carney did the whole trick with engaging in the negotiations and pulling out
00:05:16.280because he wanted to maintain the high levels of popularity that he and the Liberal Party had,
00:05:21.080and he didn't want the Liberal Party votes falling in those areas looking like that he is starting to
00:05:26.340lose the trust of Canadians. And I think he's trying to do the exact same thing once again,
00:05:30.680but I don't think you can actually do this trick twice, or people get quite tired of it.
00:05:36.220But now I want to take you guys into QP today, where Pierre Polyev himself went after the Liberals
00:05:41.840for sort of doing this carrot dangling trick, where they're constantly pretending like they're
00:05:47.340about to get a trade deal, but they never actually do. Eventually, you actually need to stick in
00:05:52.800there for more than five seconds and actually try and hammer something out. You can't negotiate for
00:05:57.200Or we get offended about something and then run away.
00:06:00.600Mr. Speaker, the leader of the opposition would be probably the leading expert in the House of Commons in terms of theatrics.
00:06:08.040I think what's important, Mr. Speaker, for Canadians is to know that their government will always be there to support workers and industries that are facing the effects of these unjustified and illegal tariffs.
00:06:21.560one point where perhaps we agree with the leader of the opposition is this is causing economic
00:06:26.600hardship for Canadians that's why we're supporting Canadians and we're not going to rush into any old
00:06:32.020bad deal that the leader of the opposition would have accepted a year ago because he wouldn't have
00:06:36.560had the guts to face what's in the deal this is such a I I use the word a lot these days but it's
00:06:43.760such a lame talking point well we're actually really good at what we're doing because unlike
00:06:48.860that other guy who would have probably signed something bad a year ago you were doing a good
00:06:53.340job by not signing anything ever it's like what did we elect you to do again because i remember
00:06:59.740the whole point of voting carny liberal was that he knows how to deal with donald trump and he's
00:07:04.700gonna go get canada a good deal someone in one of my comments the other day pointed out and it's a
00:07:09.660great saying i think it actually is from somewhere else if it isn't this is a great way of putting it
00:07:14.860but a good deal now is better than a great deal later i don't want to wait two three years until
00:07:22.380trump is no longer president for a great trade deal we can get a great great trade deal later
00:07:27.260anyways how about we try and get a good one now i'm even okay with certain concessions because
00:07:32.460again the concessions might only last until the next president steps in and then you can say can
00:07:36.460we deal with these some of these outlying issues that we don't like anymore you know maybe we'll
00:07:41.340we'll give you a little bit more here, but we want these concessions that we gave you back
00:07:44.740because they weren't really working for us. But instead, the liberals are using the stick of
00:07:50.120perfection in order to never actually engage in any serious negotiations. And here we're going
00:07:55.080to have Pierpaglia respond to what he ended up, why am I forgetting his name here, Dominic LeBlanc
00:08:02.280said. For some reason, I want to call him Steve McKinnon. A bunch of the liberals kind of have
00:08:06.460like generic middle-aged man look and i end up kind of losing them in the shuffle
00:08:11.140well that's an easy one mr speaker if that member had the guts to face down the americans he'd be
00:08:22.080at the negotiating table right now but he's not but he's not because the prime minister's tweet
00:08:31.780on the weekend was not about getting back to the table he's not at the table he's doing photo
00:08:36.300ups it was once again theatrics designed to distract from his disastrous record here at home
00:08:43.740just today we have food banks toronto saying that demand is up 333 since 2019
00:08:52.380when will the prime minister stop the theatrics and get a deal
00:08:58.460so i thought that was really well done and i think that is exactly the rhetorical term the
00:09:02.700the conservatives should be sticking to on this issue. Carney does not want to negotiate directly
00:09:08.200with Donald Trump and the Americans because he is scared of them. Dominic LeBlanc is not in the
00:09:12.840United States right now because he is scared of negotiating with the Americans and not living up
00:09:17.200to the just unrealistically high bar the liberals have set themselves. And so people are going to
00:09:22.160suffer in Canada, people are going to lose jobs, people are going to default on their mortgage
00:09:26.340because Carney will not lower himself to actually dealing directly with Donald Trump.
00:09:33.000Donald Trump deals directly with other world leaders all the time.
00:09:35.920He deals with people sometimes even lower than the world leader themselves
00:09:38.860when he wants to hammer out a deal.0.98
00:09:41.840Claudia Scheinbaum is perfectly willing to do this, the president of Mexico.
00:09:45.940Other world leaders are perfectly willing to deal directly with Donald Trump
00:09:50.400and hammer out something that's good for their people
00:09:53.340by being able to actually engage in real hardball negotiating.
00:09:57.320You might have to horse trade a little bit in order to get generally what we want.
00:10:03.000I just want something that's generally speaking good.
00:10:06.480Doesn't have to be great, just has to be good.
00:10:08.840And what Carney is doing here ahead of the by-elections
00:10:11.520is he's pretending that he is going to go and secure us a deal
00:10:15.700and he's the brave one who's the right man to take on Donald Trump.
00:10:19.220And the conservatives are pointing out, no, he's not.
00:10:21.760He's tweeting. He's posting on Facebook that he's maybe talking to Donald Trump.
00:10:26.480Okay, what have you done for me lately? That actually isn't anything material.
00:10:31.560Have you actually spoken to him in the Oval Office on camera and laid out the things that you want,
00:10:36.800and he's going to have to name what he's willing to take in order to get back to tariff-free trade, or at least close to it?
00:10:43.300Engage in real, direct negotiations, and you actually probably could get something.0.68
00:10:47.300But Carney thinks of himself as this high-minded sophisticate, this European sophisticate, who shouldn't have to talk to Donald Trump, that boor.
00:10:57.060Now, tonight are the U.S. midterm elections, and one of the biggest annoyances for me right now in the Canadian media is how much they're covering these midterms as if they have anything to do with Canada and the United States coming to a trade deal.
00:11:13.440The Democrats could sweep both the House and the Senate of Congress, and it wouldn't get
00:11:19.000us an inch closer to a trade deal, because guess what?
00:11:23.580The president is not chosen in the midterms.
00:11:26.260Trump is still going to be president for more than two years after these midterm elections.
00:11:32.580So how are we going to get to a trade deal?
00:11:34.780It's going to be really funny if the Republicans keep the Senate or even keep the House too,0.99
00:11:39.880Because not only did the liberal plan of hoping the Republicans lose the midterms not even make sense in theory, but even if it doesn't even happen or only happens halfway, well, now what, idiots?0.97
00:11:51.820What are we going to do now that your theoretical plan isn't even half working in real life?0.97
00:11:58.380Because you, for some reason, needed, I guess, Abdul El-Sayed to become the senator of Michigan in order for some reason or somehow for Canada to get a deal with the Americans.
00:12:09.360Okay, let's say that doesn't happen. Let's say Mike Rogers wins in Michigan and Susan Collins wins in Maine, and then the Republicans end up also defending some of their other incumbent seats. What do we do now? Is all is lost if the Republicans win even the Senate? Because if that's actually your plan, your plan sucked.
00:12:28.460and now you actually might need to put on your big boy pants and negotiate directly with Trump0.96
00:12:34.660and the Americans. I know, crazy concept. To get a trade deal, you might have to go and negotiate
00:12:40.880the trade deal. There's no trick around this. You don't have to like Trump. Yes, he started
00:12:46.780the trade conflict. I agree. Now what? I always hate this whole idea that we point out that Trump
00:12:52.320did something we don't like that somehow absolves us from actually having to engage
00:12:57.480in the discussions. Yes, he did something. You were dealt a certain hand. Now play the hand you
00:13:04.060were dealt. Stop sitting around complaining that the hand is what it is. Now figure out how to win
00:13:09.080with what you have. There's no one, there's no outside force that's going to come in here and
00:13:13.780solve the problem for Mark Carney. And in these by-elections, I think the conservatives should
00:13:18.020run around and say, he thinks you're a fool. He thinks that you are going to stay on the line1.00
00:13:23.140forever hearing him that he's just he's going to start talking to trump about trade no at any time0.99
00:13:28.140now and he's going to secure a deal at some point when well at some point eventually you're the fool0.93
00:13:33.480if you keep voting liberal thinking that there is going to be something around the next corner0.79
00:13:36.980when it's just another hallway leading to another uh corner that leads to more hallway like the
00:13:43.300liberals are walking people in like around a donut and hoping that you will keep walking saying it's
00:13:49.340just around the other corner. You've been walking in circle for days. It's not happening. So now
00:13:53.860what? Anyways, so with all that being said, thank you guys for watching. This video did turn into a
00:14:00.140bit of a rant, but I will be coming back to try and cover a little bit more around Carney, Trump,
00:14:05.500the EU deal, and some other friction that's being created on that front right now. Anyways, so thank
00:14:11.700you for watching, like, share, subscribe, and I'll see you all next time.
