Summary

When John Horgan stepped down as the British Columbia Premier and the BC NDP had to effectively rig the leadership race to acclaim David Eby as the next Premier of British Columbia is what we typically call in the business as foreshadowing. If you didn t think that David Ehby could win a leadership race inside the NDP because he's seen as too radical by those outside of the Vancouver bubble, then why would you think he can win a provincial election? Right now, his own riding of Vancouver Point Grey is basically in a coin toss race against Paul Ranchford, the BC Conservative candidate. It's hilarious to watch.

00:00:00.000 When John Horgan stepped down as the British Columbia Premier and the BC NDP had to effectively rig the leadership race to acclaim David Eby as the next NDP Premier of British Columbia is what we typically call in the business foreshadowing.
00:00:17.700 If you didn't think that David Eby could win a leadership race inside the NDP because he's seen as too radical by those outside of the Victoria progressive bubble, then why would you think he can win a provincial election?
00:00:32.340 Right now, David Eby, in his own riding of Vancouver Point Grey, is basically in a coin toss race against Paul Ranchford, the BC Conservative candidate.
00:00:42.060 It's hilarious to watch. And today I want to go over just how bad the BC NDP re-election campaign has been.
00:00:50.920 It's all attack ads all the time, and they haven't earned a single one of them.
00:00:55.240 Here's the thing with going negative in a campaign. You've got to earn it.
00:00:59.740 If you're doing a good job in government, you can attack your opponents because people already like you.
00:01:05.160 And then when you jab at the other people, you're showing that not only are we good, these guys are bad.
00:01:09.400 But that's good. You always make yourself easier to vote for and the other guys less easy to vote for.
00:01:14.880 The problem is, is that when you're the BC NDP, nobody thinks you're doing a good job on anything.
00:01:20.140 Not on crime, not on drugs, not on schools, not on health care, not on the economy, nothing.
00:01:26.700 So when you attack the British Columbia Conservative Party and its leader, John Rustad,
00:01:31.260 because, ooh, we found something four years ago that you said that maybe certain people might,
00:01:36.060 if they really squint, find some sort of, like, extreme element to, is a stupid campaign to run.
00:01:43.420 Because it just makes people think about the fact that, wait, who are you to criticize these people?
00:01:48.640 They seem pretty rational because they want to stop giving teenagers crack pipe and safe supply drugs.
00:01:54.040 So you attacking them just makes me resent you more.
00:01:58.100 This is the entire BC NDP campaign.
00:02:00.960 Here's a great example that doesn't have to do with the typical things that the BC NDP have been tacking the Conservatives on around certain social issues.
00:02:09.520 Here's something about guns.
00:02:11.380 So Minister Dillon here from the BC NDP says,
00:02:14.540 I am gravely concerned.
00:02:16.620 John Rustad is saying he will direct police to ignore federal gun laws in British Columbia.
00:02:21.300 He's playing politics with public safety.
00:02:24.040 The federal government isn't even actually enforcing the new gun laws because they know that their new gun bans and handgun freezes pull like polio.
00:02:36.060 Nobody actually believes the government is taking gun violence seriously because they're trying to go after law-binding gun owners, not gang members.
00:02:44.560 They're actually making it easier to get away with carrying an illegal handgun smuggled over the border.
00:02:49.800 At the same time, they want to go after a farmer for owning the wrong type of shotgun.
00:02:54.040 It's absolutely insane.
00:02:56.560 But also, why would you attack John Rustad on this?
00:03:00.200 There are a lot of gun owners in British Columbia.
00:03:03.320 In fact, 315,000 people in British Columbia have gun permits.
00:03:08.680 Out of 5 million people, most of which are not voters, but all 315,000 people who have PAL licenses are pretty much voters, that's like 7, 8, 9% of the electorate.
00:03:22.100 Why, for no reason, would you attack 9% of the BC voting public?
00:03:27.880 I don't know why.
00:03:29.060 This is how attack ads fail.
00:03:32.780 You don't have any credibility on the issues already.
00:03:35.320 The NDP have sucked on crime and violence.
00:03:38.400 And then you attack the conservatives over it and just tick off a constituency of voters that might have had some NDP voters still in it.
00:03:45.400 There might be some gun owners in certain rural NDP stronghold ridings or some NDP ridings in rural areas they currently hold who now are going to flip over the conservatives because the NDP have declared war on law-abiding gun owners.
00:03:59.800 It's hilarious.
00:04:00.640 I want the conservatives to win, so I'm having a lot of fun witnessing this.
00:04:04.460 At the same time, it's still slightly frustrating.
00:04:07.160 Also, I just want to take a quick detour and break to make fun of this one post that they made.
00:04:11.920 But first, I'm going to remind you all, make sure to like this video, share it, subscribe.
00:04:16.660 Also consider donating to the legal fund that I have pinned at the top of the comments below.
00:04:23.020 Chinese billionaire is suing us for $900,000, and we've been fighting him because his claims that we defamed him are complete nonsense.
00:04:30.000 And so if you contribute to that, it really helps the show out.
00:04:33.340 I've paid more than $32,000 already defending us.
00:04:36.340 But here's something they also posted.
00:04:37.960 I just want to quickly make fun of this.
00:04:39.500 This looks like the worst version of Guess Who I've ever seen.
00:04:43.160 I don't want to play NDP Guess Who.
00:04:45.740 Oh, my goodness.
00:04:46.900 But the NDP have been posting stuff like this.
00:04:50.140 Rusted has a 20-year record of costing people more, including hiking BC hydro rates by 80%.
00:04:56.120 Now he is proposing further risk meddling in BC's electricity grid that threatens to raise costs on families once again.
00:05:05.880 They just obviously aren't.
00:05:07.020 And again, the BCNDB have no credibility on fiscal issues.
00:05:12.080 So why would you attack John Rusted on them?
00:05:14.820 And by the way, this is people's like two-month residential power bills over the past few years.
00:05:22.180 It's gone up substantially.
00:05:23.760 What really happened with John Rusted back in the day and the Liberal government was that they had raised the amount of money it cost per kilowatt hour for electricity.
00:05:33.960 If you actually go back and you adjust for inflation, they basically just corrected the price up to where it should have been because it was heavily undervalued for like about a decade and a half.
00:05:44.200 So it went up by 80%, but it was because it cost basically nothing for the longest time.
00:05:49.420 And it was like hemorrhaging money because the BCNDB before the Liberals came in were artificially keeping electricity prices down to try and get reelected because their fiscal management on other things had been abysmal.
00:06:02.920 But now I just want to quickly jump over to their main X account to talk about this other attack ad they're running based on an interview that John Rusted had with Laura Lynn Tyler Thompson,
00:06:14.960 who was the former BC Christian Heritage Party leader, which makes sense why John Rusted would go on our show in many writings of the CHP when they did run a candidate, got anywhere from 3% all the way up to 12% of the vote.
00:06:29.300 But here the BCNDB says, John Rusted believes that climate action is a plot to starve billions of people to reduce the world population.
00:06:38.320 He agrees that Bill Gates, Anthony Fauci, and the UN are behind it.
00:06:41.960 He says if British Columbians knew the truth about climate agenda, they wouldn't support it.
00:06:46.000 And one, this is already too much.
00:06:48.160 Nobody cares.
00:06:49.360 It's just nobody believes that that's actually what John Rusted thinks.
00:06:52.920 And when you see the clip, John Rusted is basically just saying, well, they keep preventing us from being able to grow the food we need.
00:06:58.920 And all these different UN declarations and whatnot are declaring war on people using fertilizer and stuff like that.
00:07:06.900 So he said, basically in the clip, at some point, I just have to conclude that all these people who are also encouraging people not to have kids might just not like people that much and want the population to go down.
00:07:18.180 Here's a little bit of the clip.
00:07:19.460 They think this makes John Rusted look bad, apparently.
00:07:21.660 So if you're talking about eliminating nitrogen-based fertilizer or even reducing it, you're talking about a significant food shortage.
00:07:28.920 345 million people in the world today are facing a severe food insecurity.
00:07:34.480 You start reducing the food supply.
00:07:36.840 You're talking about hundreds of millions of people, if not even into billions of people that are actually going to starve.
00:07:42.720 And in good conscience, I can't stand up and support those kinds of policies.
00:07:46.840 For some reason.
00:07:47.760 And they move on to other clips from the same interview.
00:07:51.960 And I've watched through it.
00:07:53.240 It's really not controversial.
00:07:55.980 No one would actually disagree with his point that these people, like he's saying, that these people might be badly motivated if they keep preventing us from being able to grow food for a cheap price.
00:08:05.700 And fair enough.
00:08:06.980 And all the NDP is doing by constantly attacking BC Conservative candidates for an old tweet from four months ago or four years ago that was probably just a joke or them just putting a point in a slightly more assertive type of a way or putting it in a joking way that comes off as harsh or coarse or something like that.
00:08:28.040 All they're doing is promoting the BC Conservative brand because nobody cares about these tweets, especially in contrast to the BC NDP, again, failing on every single issue voters care about.
00:08:40.840 It's almost insulting to voters when you've been sucking on all of the issues you've been giving, again, crack pipes to 13-year-olds and safe supply drugs, when your economic plans are all just burning more cash effectively,
00:08:54.500 that you're then going to come over and cast aspersions at the other guys who are actually proposing real solutions to the problems, solutions that are the exact opposite of the current programs that are not just not working, but making the problem worse.
00:09:09.400 The BC NDP are, like, manufacturing the housing crisis right now.
00:09:13.880 It is on them.
00:09:15.460 Were housing prices going up before they came into office?
00:09:18.200 Sure.
00:09:18.780 Some of that's mass immigration.
00:09:20.120 A lot of it's just the extremely restrictive house-building regulations and codes all over British Columbia that the BC NDP have basically been endorsing, both on the municipal level as well as what they pass on the provincial level.
00:09:35.340 They don't have credibility.
00:09:37.260 And that's why in the polls, you see as undecided voters sort of shrink over time, you kind of have to see the polls in three-day chunks,
00:09:45.640 because one poll, one day to the next can be very different just because it's a different sample size, but the general trend will be correct.
00:09:53.380 As we've seen undecided voters coming down, they're going two to one towards the BC Conservatives,
00:10:00.380 because the NDP are not running on a good narrative to re-elect them.
00:10:05.380 It's a terrible narrative, and I hope they lose.
00:10:08.060 They're never going to take my advice.
00:10:09.560 They're awful.
00:10:10.340 They just run, they just do awful things.
00:10:13.400 They're activists first, and they're representatives of the public second.
00:10:17.920 I wouldn't even say second, probably like third or fourth behind other priorities that each personally have.
00:10:23.460 But right now, what we have going on is the BC NDP, assuming they can just insult their way back into power without actually laying out anything substantially new in their platform.
00:10:33.840 Everything on their platform is just turbo-defrosted, microwaved stuff that they promised in 2020 and stuff they promised in 2017.
00:10:42.600 The wording's different.
00:10:43.760 The policy might be slightly changed, but it's the same solutions over again.
00:10:47.940 You'd have to have Stockholm Syndrome to be voting for these guys thinking it's going to change.
00:10:52.160 It's literally the same thing.
00:10:53.340 So I encourage you all, if you're in British Columbia, vote for the BC Conservatives.
00:10:57.560 Help out their campaigns wherever you can.
00:10:59.020 But the good thing is that David Evie seems to be dedicated to running a campaign that just highlights how bad the NDP is and how petty they are at the same time.
00:11:08.380 They've governed terribly.
00:11:09.720 They're campaigning terribly.
00:11:11.220 They deserve to lose.
00:11:12.860 See you guys later.
