Summary

David Eby is not going to be British Columbia's next premier because he's awkward. That's why he should be in the backbenches of the BCNDP, polishing door handles and getting people glasses of water as a staffer.

Transcript

00:00:00.280 Things are not looking so hot for British Columbia Premier David Eby and his BC NDP party.
00:00:06.960 Not only are they now only tied in the polls with the BC Conservatives, a party that effectively
00:00:12.500 didn't exist more than a year and a half ago, they are tied 37-37 at the moment, and when
00:00:18.380 you actually look at the underlying numbers, the Conservatives have much more momentum
00:00:22.040 with voters, with over half of voters considering voting for them, whereas the BC NDP only have
00:00:28.240 about 40% of voters even considering casting a ballot for them.
00:00:32.880 That's all bad for David Eby.
00:00:34.560 He even has a lot of people defecting from his cabinet.
00:00:37.520 That's also bad.
00:00:38.440 But that's not the main reason that David Eby is not going to be Premier after October.
00:00:45.060 The main reason that David Eby is not going to be Premier is because he is awkwardness personified.
00:00:52.000 This is why there is such little confidence in him, both in the public as well as inside
00:00:57.440 his own party.
00:00:58.700 David Eby is not a likable candidate.
00:01:01.240 And I don't mean that he's a bad person on a fundamental level.
00:01:05.180 I mean it's hard to watch him do politics.
00:01:08.600 He's very mechanical in the way he interacts with people.
00:01:12.900 And at the same time, he's very unserious in his policy.
00:01:16.420 At the very least, if he was competent on policy, affordability was getting better, houses
00:01:21.780 were being put up, we were cracking down on crime and scrapping decriminalization programs.
00:01:26.960 People would say, well, you know, a little bit robotic, but he knows what he's doing.
00:01:30.900 It's like, no, he doesn't know what he's doing and he's awkward on top of that.
00:01:34.920 So I'm going to show you a video in a second that I think encapsulates why David Eby is
00:01:39.860 not a candidate that should be running for Premier.
00:01:42.400 He should be in the back benches of the BCNDP, if not just polishing door handles and getting
00:01:48.900 people glasses of water as a staffer.
00:01:51.700 That's really where David Eby should be.
00:01:53.520 He is a protester who somehow became the Premier of British Columbia, getting acclaimed in
00:01:59.760 a NDP leadership race to become the Premier instantly, having never actually proven himself
00:02:06.920 both before he was in politics or when he is in politics.
00:02:11.340 John Horgan doesn't even like him.
00:02:13.260 To put a fine point on it, John Horgan wanted to be as far away from British Columbia as
00:02:17.780 possible after stepping down as Premier.
00:02:20.180 He doesn't want to be in the vicinity of David Eby while he's running the province because
00:02:25.040 David Eby is kind of a twerp.
00:02:27.440 That's just the best way of putting it.
00:02:29.040 Right now, right before I get into the video, I also just want to mention I actually am on
00:02:33.020 the ground in Abbotsford in British Columbia helping out Bruce Bandman's campaign.
00:02:37.960 So if you guys want to help contribute to defeating the BCNDP if you live in British Columbia, I have
00:02:43.540 a donation link for the Abbotsford South riding in the description below.
00:02:47.560 We want to get this riding fully funded so we can make sure that these ridings in Abbotsford
00:02:52.480 are fully locked down for the BC Conservatives.
00:02:55.100 And then we can start moving our forces more towards Metro Vancouver.
00:02:59.160 We have a path to win and we are following that path very dedicatedly.
00:03:03.560 But here is a video of David Eby.
00:03:05.980 There's nothing really in the wrong in terms of the content of the video.
00:03:09.800 It's generic stuff.
00:03:10.980 Them, you know, announcing that there's going to be more housing projects started.
00:03:14.700 The text of this says, in Whistler, housing is hard to find and afford.
00:03:19.320 Nikita's family spent two years in an RV.
00:03:21.740 We're building 100 new homes so families like hers can stay, work, and raise their kids in
00:03:26.320 the community they love.
00:03:27.380 Like, one, I'd love to see what the actual spending was on these homes and how long it's
00:03:31.840 going to take.
00:03:32.520 If it's the government that's directly involved, it's going to take probably months longer and
00:03:37.720 hundreds of thousands of dollars more per household than it should.
00:03:40.980 But this video is all of the awkwardness of David Eby that you could ever want to watch.
00:03:47.480 Take a look.
00:03:48.020 We're in Whistler, Columbia, today.
00:03:50.500 Nikita, what's it like looking for housing?
00:03:52.600 It's really challenging.
00:03:53.980 We had a great house here.
00:03:55.080 We moved away for a year and when we came back, there was nothing available.
00:03:59.160 We actually spent two years living in an RV while we waited out finding housing.
00:04:03.060 When we finally got into Whistler Housing Authority housing, which does mean that...
00:04:06.980 Who is framing these videos?
00:04:09.360 This lady is telling him about her housing problems and then you have David Eby there
00:04:14.300 just like staring at her like he's an ostrich or an emu just looking at some food on the
00:04:19.340 ground.
00:04:20.200 David Eby does not know how to shoot a video.
00:04:23.240 He does not know how to come off as charismatic.
00:04:25.420 He's just staring at her like he's a large bird looking at a piece of corn he's going to
00:04:29.880 pick up off the ground.
00:04:31.160 And again, I'm not going after how he looks.
00:04:33.060 This is all controllable stuff.
00:04:34.500 He looks like a fine guy.
00:04:35.460 But just the way that these things are framed, he's so much taller than her.
00:04:40.580 And he's both filming it himself as well as staring at her.
00:04:44.420 It's weird.
00:04:46.080 We can continue in our careers here.
00:04:48.060 We can establish our life here and potentially live here for longer than a season.
00:04:52.760 Awesome.
00:04:53.140 And behind us, it doesn't look like much, but it's a great lot to explain.
00:04:57.460 Some apartments are being built here.
00:04:59.360 What does that mean for you and your family?
00:05:02.100 It's just great to know that we can stay here long term, but we're not, you know, possibly
00:05:09.000 going to have a house sold out from underneath.
00:05:10.800 He looks like he hates her or something like that.
00:05:12.880 Like he didn't want to do this filming.
00:05:14.720 It's so weird looking.
00:05:16.520 He just again, he's just staring there like down at her.
00:05:19.460 He's like, he's a tall guy.
00:05:21.360 He's like six foot five.
00:05:23.100 And for some reason, they took a woman who's like five foot two.
00:05:26.560 And now he's just like staring down into her soul with no connection to her, with like
00:05:31.940 the worst audio from his phone you could possibly get.
00:05:35.740 Beneath us that we have affordable rent that allows us to continue living and working in
00:05:41.180 our community that we've built around us and a place that we enjoy living and a place
00:05:46.720 we want to raise our kids.
00:05:47.600 And so we're really thankful to have affordable housing.
00:05:50.720 You know, affordability is a huge part of the solution.
00:05:54.740 Awesome.
00:05:55.500 Well, thanks for sharing.
00:05:56.680 He says awesome while he looks mad at her.
00:05:59.300 I don't get it.
00:06:00.060 This is why.
00:06:01.200 David Eby actually used to be popular when he first became premier, as all premiers are
00:06:06.160 when you first become premier, especially just out of nowhere, like, you know, they appoint
00:06:09.940 somebody new.
00:06:10.940 Usually your approval rating starts off well, especially if you're on the left because the media
00:06:16.040 pumps you up a lot and you haven't done anything wrong technically yet.
00:06:19.160 So David Eby started off before Rob Canoo came around as the most popular premier in
00:06:24.020 the country.
00:06:24.460 He had like a 67% approval rating or whatever.
00:06:27.440 And then he proceeded within months.
00:06:30.980 And now currently he's like in either in the middle of the pack or the lower end of the
00:06:36.320 spectrum of premiers in Canada.
00:06:38.020 He has like an approval rating of below 40% at this point.
00:06:42.000 He deteriorated so fast because as people get to know David, the policy sucks.
00:06:48.320 You know, he does not let his own caucus make decisions.
00:06:51.340 That's a really big issue.
00:06:53.020 Andrew Weaver, the former Green Party leader of British Columbia came out and he actually
00:06:57.720 said good things about the conservative leader, John Rustad, even though potentially they maybe
00:07:02.500 don't line up on every single issue.
00:07:04.640 But he's saying that guy isn't actually a leader.
00:07:06.040 He actually lets his caucus do what they want, say what they want.
00:07:09.240 Their candidates are able to actually speak out.
00:07:12.280 David Eby's cabinet and his government is run like a dictatorship, a dictatorship run by
00:07:17.200 the stupidest possible person in the party.
00:07:19.900 I won't mean that to be insulting.
00:07:21.740 I mean the person who is unable to understand that actions have consequences because he doesn't
00:07:28.120 care about all of the consequences, decriminalization programs, different tax schemes.
00:07:32.380 David Eby is so bad at politics.
00:07:35.660 At the same time that they're trying to frame their opponents in the BC Conservative Party
00:07:40.960 as the party for the rich, he announced a new subsidy program to give $10,000 tax credits
00:07:47.660 for people who install $15,000 solar panel installations.
00:07:51.880 At the same time, some people can't afford groceries.
00:07:55.180 So he wants to try and attack the conservatives for being the party of the rich because they
00:07:59.420 want to give everybody tax relief through getting rid of the carbon tax and lowering provincial
00:08:03.640 sales taxes and income taxes altogether.
00:08:07.040 At the same time, he's giving out tax credits to those who can already afford $15,000 solar
00:08:14.160 panel installations.
00:08:15.640 Who's struggling is going to pull up $15,000 from their wallets in order to put up a solar
00:08:21.140 panel on their home just to get the provincial government tax credit.
00:08:26.140 That is a way of buying votes from upper middle class people in the Vancouver and Victoria areas.
00:08:33.780 He's such a hypocrite.
00:08:35.060 And again, Andrew Weaver noted that unlike when John Horgan was premier, which I don't
00:08:39.720 agree with John Horgan's policies, but I can agree with the way he manages a government,
00:08:44.620 that John Horgan let cabinet ministers do what they wanted.
00:08:47.480 When they did policy announcements, when there was a new policy or there was some update,
00:08:52.080 they would be the ones leading the press conference.
00:08:55.180 Now, David Eby leads all of them, being the least competent person to lead any of these
00:08:59.380 press conferences.
00:09:00.560 And you got this cabinet minister sitting in the back like they don't even know why they're
00:09:05.020 supposed to be there.
00:09:06.300 This is why, again, a party that got 2% of the polls is now leading in the seat projections
00:09:11.660 on some of these different metrics.
00:09:15.480 Conservatives might win by two seats.
00:09:17.460 And that's early on right now while the polls are still tied.
00:09:21.000 Again, way more people are considering voting conservative at this point than NDP.
00:09:25.680 Only 44% of BC residents are considering voting NDP, with only 2% still undecided.
00:09:32.540 Conservatives, 51% are considering voting for them, with 8% still undecided.
00:09:37.900 And if they even just take half of that 8%, 55% of people are considering voting for them.
00:09:43.440 David Eby is an impossible situation right now.
00:09:46.480 Because in order to win, as you see in the federal polling, BC is about 50-50.
00:09:53.260 50% of people are voting CPC, PPC, and then the other 50% are voting for left-wing parties.
00:09:59.420 So right now, the provincial conservatives have access to basically the full 50% because
00:10:05.040 all the other parties, United, the NDP, the Greens, are all on the left.
00:10:09.320 And so for David Eby to win, because the Greens have about 15%, 12% of the vote, United has
00:10:15.820 about 10%, David Eby only has about 30% of the left-wing vote that isn't already eaten
00:10:21.920 up by another left-wing party.
00:10:23.940 And so he's going to have to rely on the impossible scenario that some people who like
00:10:29.680 peer poly up on a federal level, who wants to scrap the carbon tax, are then going to
00:10:33.660 cross over and vote David Eby provincially for the NDP, who wants to keep the provincial
00:10:39.040 carbon tax.
00:10:40.400 He's walking a tightrope that doesn't even actually exist because there's no voter outside
00:10:45.800 of an infinitesimally small, less than maybe a third of a percent of people, who are going
00:10:52.260 to make that weird pick that they're going to vote Polyev and then Eby.
00:10:55.680 Maybe they just like, I don't know, maybe they like how awkward Eby is.
00:11:00.060 I don't even get that.
00:11:01.500 Polyev and Eby aren't even the same people in terms of personality.
00:11:04.980 They're not even close.
00:11:05.860 Not in closing policy, personality, leadership style.
00:11:09.820 It's terrible.
00:11:11.640 Anyways, but yeah, David Eby is going to lose.
00:11:14.280 If you live in BC, go down to the link below and you can donate to the Abbotsford South
00:11:18.800 riding.
00:11:19.220 It doesn't matter if you live in Abbotsford South or not.
00:11:21.480 We want to get this riding fully funded so then we can start transferring money to other
00:11:25.740 ridings.
00:11:26.540 That's perfectly above board.
00:11:28.000 You actually can barely donate in BC.
00:11:30.300 That's what I didn't realize before I came out from Alberta.
00:11:32.720 I thought the federal donation limits were low at $1,700.
00:11:37.100 In BC, it's only $1,400 and all the restrictions on how you can fundraise are insane.
00:11:42.880 It is so restrictive.
00:11:44.480 It is basically trying to benefit left-wing parties with union connections who can have
00:11:49.500 people spend money on their behalf.
00:11:51.240 You know, also the media basically is spending money promoting the BC NDP by trying to smooth
00:11:56.340 out the edges of their terrible policy.
00:11:58.700 So if you live in BC, if you spend $100, you can get 75% of it back in a tax credit.
00:12:04.640 Make sure you at least give $100 this election cycle.
00:12:07.880 It is a down payment on getting a tax cut in the future because if the BC conservatives do
00:12:12.480 not have the money to win, they can't win.
00:12:14.560 That's the best way of putting it.
00:12:16.320 But anyways, also if you don't live in BC, you can contribute to my Give, Send, Go legal
00:12:20.740 fund in the description below.
00:12:22.640 That's getting sued by a Chinese billionaire throwing paperwork at us for defamation apparently.
00:12:27.620 In two and a half years, he hasn't even shown how he defamed him.
00:12:31.000 He's just merely stating that he feels defamed.
00:12:34.560 You know, it's just this one of these nonsensical, frivolous slap suits.
00:12:38.180 So if you guys can contribute to that, it really helps me out.
00:12:41.100 It's already cost me $32,000 fighting this case.
00:12:44.540 And then I've even had another legal case I had to fight off.
00:12:47.280 If you're independent media for any length of time, you're going to eventually have people
00:12:50.840 take shots at you because unlike in the United States, you don't have very strong free speech
00:12:56.380 rights in Canada comparatively.
00:12:59.100 So in the US, all these suits against us would have been thrown out in five seconds.
00:13:02.960 In Canada, the judges will humor it for three years, which costs you a lot of money.
00:13:07.160 We'll still win.
00:13:08.180 It just takes a while.
00:13:09.900 And then if you guys want to can sign up to my campaign organizing forum, this is just
00:13:13.380 for the entire country.
00:13:14.360 That's on my website, also linked in the description below, wyattclaypool.com.
00:13:20.140 See you guys later.
