00:00:00.000Hey guys, Wyatt Claypool here, and welcome back to the National Telegraph YouTube channel.
00:00:06.120In a predictably stupid move, we have the Assembly of Treaty Chiefs trying to go after Alberta Premier Danielle Smith for treason,
00:00:16.740because she's allowing for a referendum question to be on the ballot this October on whether or not to have another referendum on potential separation.
00:00:30.400Never happened to any of the Quebec separatist referendums back in the 90s, despite those being straight questions about just leaving Canada.
00:00:38.260No, no, no. Danielle Smith must be charged, potentially, because a bunch of chiefs don't understand how Canadian law works.
00:00:47.300So here was the release that they put out, a journalist here saying,
00:00:50.940treaty chiefs are calling for RCMP to investigate Danielle Smith and the UCP for possible treason
00:00:57.260in regards to the sovereignty question. Literally, apparently treason, literally treason charges
00:01:03.760potentially for her asking a question about whether or not Albertans want another binding
00:01:10.800referendum on independence. Now, she had to do it that way because a judge previously shut down
00:01:16.660the Stay Free Alberta petition. That was just a straight question about independence,
00:01:21.720so she used this one as basically a placeholder for it. Regardless, there's a lot of debate on
00:01:27.700whether she should have done that or not. I think she kind of had to do it, but now I want to get
00:01:31.700into the text of this ridiculous press release. This says, Assembly of Treaty Chiefs demands
00:01:38.940premier and UCP treason investigation. Unanimous resolution calls for immediate action by RCMP
00:01:46.060and Auditor General. The Assembly of Treaty Chiefs of Treaty No. 6, Treaty No. 7, and Treaty No. 8
00:01:53.200has unanimously passed a resolution calling for an investigation by the Royal Canadian Mounted
00:01:59.280Police and Auditor General in the actions of Premier Daniel Smith and members of the UCP to
00:02:05.420determine whether they constitute treason under Section 46 of the Criminal Code of Canada. The
00:02:13.220vote took place in a duly convened meeting on Treaty No. 7 territory in Calgary on June 16,
00:02:19.6802026. We call for this investigation on the basis of the intentional violation of the treaties,
00:02:26.740of calling a referendum in the face of risks to Canadian sovereignty and the treaty relationship,
00:02:32.280and of failing to take action on the violation of privacy rights of millions of people.
00:02:38.280Okay, this whole thing's ridiculous, but I'm going to read the whole thing before we talk about it.
00:02:43.220Further, Premier Smith and the UCP government have done all this with significant risk of foreign interference and influence.
00:02:51.960At the time of treaty, the Northwest Mounted Police, now the RCMP, committed to ensuring the safety of First Nations and our territories
00:03:04.140and that the Crown guarantees the peace and goodwill mutually promised between First Nations and the Crown in exchange for sharing these lands.
00:03:13.220united the chiefs of treaty number six treaty number seven tree number eight territories
00:03:17.220now call for the fulfillment of this commitment in the form of a full investigation
00:03:23.620absolutely pants on head crazy and delusional it's treasonous for a question to be put to voters
00:03:33.220because apparently it's going to violate the rights of first nation people in alberta no sorry
00:03:40.020your treaties are not a veto on how Alberta basically operates forever. You don't just
00:03:47.140simply say, well, because the treaty is signed, now you can basically change nothing that we
00:03:52.020don't want you to change within the territories of Alberta. We want things to be effectively
00:03:56.580exactly as they were upon the treaty signing. That's effectively the argument for treason.
00:04:02.460And then they slip in like, well, there could be foreign interference and also people's data was
00:04:06.760leak. Guess what? A third-party group that has nothing to do with Danielle Smith and the UCP,
00:04:13.920a fairly ineffective group overall. And I know some people are saying it's no big deal because,
00:04:19.460hey, it's just like the phone book. The phone book is voluntary. Voter rolls are not voluntary.
00:04:25.400So it is still bad, but it's also not the end of the world the way that some people have been
00:04:30.300portraying it. It's illegal for that organization to do, but at the same time, it's not exactly
00:04:36.680like it's going to affect people in any really profound way. But apparently, all of this
00:04:43.220constitute a potential act of treason by Premier Daniel Smith and the UCP that they want the RCMP
00:04:50.000to investigate. Let's be clear. This is a stupid NDP political stunt. The Assembly of Treaty Chiefs
00:04:58.300is an assembly of NDP partisan hacks. The thing is, if you actually look at polling and exit polls,
00:05:06.060There was a new Canadian election survey that was done where it was like over 14,000 people surveyed. First Nations people are heavily voting for the conservatives, and that's just federally. Provincially, it's probably even more conservative because obviously nationally, the whole environment is not as conservative as it just is in Alberta.
00:05:25.840First Nations people are not represented by these groups,
00:05:28.300but what you're going to have is the legacy media
00:05:41.880It's just a bunch of guys who want more payouts
00:05:44.820from an NDP government instead of a UCP government.
00:05:48.400They know that for them, as effectively taxpayer leeches,
00:05:52.900they do better with the NDP than the UCP. And I'm not referring to indigenous people. I'm talking
00:05:58.260about bands. It is the band elites who profit a lot when the NDP is in, just as union leaders do,
00:06:06.320just as other people who are involved in effectively fake areas of the economy. Nonprofit
00:06:12.860groups, lobby groups, unions, they do really well with the NDP and especially the band chiefs. Same
00:06:20.180thing in British Columbia, same thing in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, every part of the country.
00:06:24.480The more left-wing the party is, usually the more likely they are to make big concessions to First
00:06:30.160Nation groups, even though those groups don't actually represent First Nations people.
00:06:35.380Anyways, so now we got to get to Premier Danielle Smith reacting to this. Then I want to go to
00:06:41.120some of the absolutely unhinged reactions to this news coming out from a bunch of activists who
00:06:48.400think like oh look now we've gotten danielle smith but i'll let danielle smith first uh have the
00:06:53.520first word on this treaty chiefs are calling for an investigation into whether your actions over
00:06:58.060the independence referendum amount to treason under the criminal code what's your response to
00:07:02.300that well i think it's disgraceful i think it's disgraceful that any government that wants to be
00:07:06.920taken seriously would level the charges that serious against another government look i've
00:07:11.600had my differences with the federal government but i have never used language like that i would
00:07:15.960ask the treaty chiefs to check themselves because we have a very collaborative relationship between
00:07:20.360our government and our ministers. I want that to continue. But this kind of overwrought language
00:07:25.300has no place in a democracy. When they were pursuing a new relationship with Ottawa, I
00:07:31.220cheered them along. We are pursuing a new relationship with Ottawa that respects our
00:07:35.500jurisdiction. And I would ask that they be respectful of that. But they need to, that
00:07:40.040that language has no place in this democratic discussion treaty chiefs are called so yeah i
00:07:45.600think that was a good response from her and i think that they should be shamed for these actions
00:07:49.980because it is so clearly partisan the fact that the ndp actually hasn't amplified this yet although
00:07:56.340i assume that they will eventually also tells me that they probably know this wasn't the best move
00:08:02.280for the chiefs to make they are trying to help the ndp by doing what they're doing but this is also
00:08:07.760far too big of a move in a lot of ways her chief of staff rob anderson also responded to this
00:08:14.900saying what a dangerous and irresponsible letter from the treaty chiefs asking the rcmp to
00:08:20.540investigate and charge a premier with treason because you disagree with her policy to hold a
00:08:24.860referendum in this case is a dark path that we see in third world banana republics it is wrong
00:08:30.300it is unalbertan and is un canadian period absolutely and i think that is the right angle
00:08:35.660of shaming for the Chiefs here. They're in fact the ones who are acting against the interests of
00:08:40.820Canada by trying to imply that having a referendum amounts to a crime that you could be locked up for
00:08:47.760for your entire life. But now I want to get to some of the really unhinged reactions from people
00:08:53.320who hate Danielle Smith. I love it because they think that this is like a big win. I don't think
00:09:00.540it's really a big win for anybody because i think the average voter who may even be swayed by the
00:09:06.100idea that danielle smith is giving too much power to the separatists too much leeway to the separatists
00:09:10.640he's not he's playing it really neutral down the middle and it makes sense her party although i
00:09:16.500would say that if you actually did an in-depth poll of ucp voters it's probably kind of mostly
00:09:21.240like two-thirds federalist one-third pro-independence but she plays it kind of down the middle but all
00:09:27.480these people think that like this like this chief's press release is going to hurt her when i think
00:09:33.420that the average albertan again who might even think that danielle smith gives a little more
00:09:38.520too much leeway to the separatist i think they would still see this as just stupid theater and
00:09:43.400it might even hurt the case against danielle smith because it's just so hyperbolic so unreasonable
00:09:48.420but this person brandy morin said wow big news the assembly of treaty chiefs just dropped a bomb
00:09:54.960on Danielle Smith. Treaty 6, 7, and 8 united unanimously calling for an RCMP and Auditor
00:10:01.420General investigation into whether the Premier and her UCP government committed treason under
00:10:07.180Section 46 of the Criminal Code of Canada. The chiefs met on Treaty 7 territory in Calgary on
00:10:12.760June 16th and voted as one, pushing a separation referendum that puts Canada's sovereignty at risk,
00:10:18.940trampling the treaty relationship, ignoring privacy violations, and affecting millions,
00:10:22.840The opening door to foreign interference, that's the case they're laying out. It's all so dramatic. At the end here, she says the at the end, she says the chiefs are saying F around and find out.
00:10:36.800find out what? Find out that they don't understand how the law works. Find out that they didn't pass
00:10:43.060high school. That's what they're going to find out at the end of this, that there are mostly
00:10:48.000unemployable individuals who end up occupying these lobbying organizations that represent
00:10:54.760First Nations people, I suppose. That's what they're going to find out, that they have no
00:10:58.920marketable skills. And when they try to put on their big boy pants and get involved in Alberta
00:11:03.500of politics in this way that they're going to get absolutely spanked in a courtroom if they actually
00:11:08.320tried to push some sort of private prosecution or some sort of like demand letter that the RCMP
00:11:15.280investigate this as a crime. I think they should file a criminal complaint. I'd love for the RCMP
00:11:21.240to come out and actually have to dog walk these people about how ridiculous they're being and how
00:11:26.340they don't understand the criminal code at all. Anyways, now I have to get to this other one
00:11:32.180Because, of course, she sounded off about it. Our favorite unhinged person in need of lithium, Laura Babcock, obviously commented on this, saying, we've been calling for a treason investigation on the O show for months.
00:11:46.680so glad the treaty chiefs are doing this what what they're echoing your delusional beliefs
00:11:52.460do they actually does she actually think that they're gonna that they're like on the case here
00:11:57.540and that the investigation is going to be triggered because they asked for it they have
00:12:03.340no power here and nor should they they are demonstrating to be irresponsible with power
00:12:09.760who who would have guessed who would have guessed that a bunch of bandolites are irresponsible with
00:12:15.260power. Not in my foggiest imaginations. Could I imagine an Indigenous band council full of a bunch
00:12:22.080of like basically the favorite family members on reserve would be really dumb when it comes to
00:12:27.140politics and not have any clue what they're doing and be acting in politically corrupt fashion.
00:12:32.120If anything, I'd love to see if this group gets any Canadian taxpayer money, Alberta taxpayer money
00:12:37.680to operate. And they should have it stripped from them if they keep acting as effectively a third
00:12:43.100party advertising group against the UCP. They can go raise their own money. That would require some
00:12:48.840of these idiots at the top of the band councils to actually get jobs like the rest of their members
00:12:53.360actually do have while they pretend that they represent them. Anyways, with that being said,
00:12:58.960thank you guys for watching. I might be doing more Alberta videos as we get into this sort of
00:13:04.300referendum situation. I actually also might start making more stuff about the province of Manitoba.
00:13:10.920My favorite politician in Manitoba, Wally Daldrich, who actually ran in the Manitoba PC leadership race and won the popular vote but lost on points, is not being allowed to run in the Turtle Mountain riding that he was running for the nomination of because Obi-Kan, the current PC party leader and liberal hack, is such a weasel that he will not let the guy who beat him in the popular vote run under his banner.
00:13:38.440A guy who adds far more value to the party than Obie, who's only leader because he got points in downtown Winnipeg ridings that the PCs never win.
00:13:48.240He is unable to share a ballot with a man who beat him in the popular vote.
