00:00:00.000Just when you thought things couldn't get worse for Prime Minister Mark Carney and the Liberal government on the China front, it does.
00:00:08.280Yesterday, in question period, Carney was confronted by Conservative Party leader Pierre Polyev for his buy Canadian fraud,
00:00:16.440where at the same time he keeps saying that we're going to be our own best customers,
00:00:20.280he's massively increasing American contracts and allowing for Beijing to flood the Canadian market
00:00:26.760with cheap Chinese steel that is being used for all the major projects that were supposed to be
00:00:31.980by Canadian first. Well, now, when it comes to China, the CRA is going to be sharing your
00:00:39.120personal information with the Chinese government, guys. Don't worry, it's only for national security
00:00:46.280and, like, integrity reasons. You can't make it up. So I'm going to cut over to this committee
00:00:51.880video where jasraj singh halan goes after the finance minister francois philippe champaign
00:00:58.680the same guy who has a massive conflict of interest with the alto high-speed rail line by the way
00:01:03.400uh confronting him over the information sharing with the chinese communist party minister um in
00:01:11.9602025 cc came out with a report and it uh named um india china and pakistan as some of the top
00:01:20.360foreign actors for foreign interference in this country and in clause 78 of this bill you're
00:01:26.920giving cra expanding their powers so that canadian's information can be given to
00:01:32.920foreign governments at their ask why well the question is that uh we have a number of
00:01:40.200arrangements with tax authority around the world uh this is to ensure tax integrity i'm sure you
00:01:45.560would want canada to be part of the broad so for the purposes of tax integrity your information
00:01:54.280upon request to the cra can and will be given to the beijing government uh you know a communist
00:02:01.800government that hates the west that prime minister mark carney literally said on the debate stage in
00:02:07.5602025 was our biggest national security threat well now our biggest national security threat
00:02:13.080will be allowed to freely look through the tax and personal information of canadians which totally
00:02:19.480will not result in dissidents in china and their families being cracked down on when china figures
00:02:27.080out you know who they are where they live and you know what they've done and all that stuff
00:02:32.200it's absolute madness they would ever do something like this but this government seems deeply
00:02:38.520beholden to the ccp this government in the negotiations on trade with the united states
00:02:44.960decided that china was even more important than the things that canadians cared about because
00:02:51.040carney did not fight in that last deal to try and lower tariff rates on aluminum and steel
00:02:56.220some of the highest tariff rate items no no 25 was apparently acceptable to him on those two
00:03:03.060major industries 25 tariffs that were obviously going to crush them if he kept them in place
00:03:07.980He was about to sign that deal. The things that got him to walk away were supply management, the censorship bill C-11, C-18 that the Trump administration wants gone, and China, who Carney himself tried to advocate for an EV exemption for because, as you may already know, he signed a deal to allow China to dump 40,000 and increasing and more in every other year after that into Canada, dumping 40,000 EVs.
00:03:36.140And at the last moment, in that last deal he tried to cut with the Trump administration on trade, he wanted an EV exemption.
00:03:43.140Not an exemption for other vehicles that Canada manufactures heavily, just EVs who he was about to let China dump in our country.
00:03:52.060And now he also wants to share your tax information with the Chinese government upon their request.
00:03:58.080Mr. Minister, as you said, we have one of the best systems in the world.
00:04:08.020Madam Chair, I'm sorry, to a lot of Canadians is that you've expanded the CRA powers to
00:04:12.920be able to give their information without their knowledge to foreign governments when
00:04:17.580you full well know that that CSIS report came out in 2025 about the threat of foreign interference.
00:04:24.160Why would you let foreign governments do that to Canadians on our soil?
00:04:28.660Because Singh's point here, or Halon's point here, is that, no, just because the CRA used to be able to send tax information to foreign governments does not mean that this is just some lateral move and nothing really changed.
00:04:44.280Previously, there was a process. Let's say that you were engaged in tax evasion from the United Kingdom, and you fled to Canada, and you're living in Winnipeg now, and the UK government is requesting that your documents are given to them because you owe them a bunch of back taxes, and they need information on you so that they can try and collect it.
00:05:03.320It's totally different than Beijing being able to ask the CRA, we would like the information, personal and financial, of these thousand people that we happen to not like and we know where their families are in our country.
00:05:18.220Very different. Before it was a legal process. Now it's just if someone in the CRA gets the request and they hit a button, it just goes over to them.
00:05:26.420What? And you get no notification as the person who this involves.
00:05:31.560Well, I would say what Canadians are concerned about is tax evasion.
00:05:35.880It's fraudulent transaction, and they want us to step up.
00:05:39.240That's what I'm doing with the Financial Crime Agency that we're going to be stepping up,
00:05:43.160which is going to be mirror with the serious fraud office you see in the United Kingdom.
00:05:47.960We need to be combating illegal financing and fraud in all forms, and that's what I'm doing.
00:05:52.920Okay, so Minister, let me ask you a question, an example.
00:05:56.520We all know the foreign interference China is committing here.
00:05:59.160If China was to ask for a Canadian's information who may have spoken out against China here in Canada,
00:06:07.160and China's asking for their information, how can that Canadian be sure that their information is not being given to them,
00:06:16.160since you're not going to notify them that their information is going to that foreign actor?
00:06:21.160I would say, and I appreciate your question, I would say it's well established in Canada
00:06:26.160that we cooperate with other agencies around the world to ensure tax integrity.
00:06:32.500There's a number of safeguards in place to ensure that.
00:06:38.300He's talking about the safeguards in place for the current system.
00:06:41.200Nobody has any particular problem with the current system.
00:06:44.120Their problem is now you are effectively eliminating those safeguards
00:06:48.360because now other countries can just get the information upon request
00:06:51.500with no notice to the actual individual
00:06:53.620and no like legal process to being able to prove they need it it is now an automatic system where
00:06:59.500they can just send it over sight unseen that's a little worrisome considering that we just
00:07:05.340recently had a scandal where somebody who works for Canada at NATO was exposed as being a CCP
00:07:12.440agent who was trying to steal internal NATO documents and give them over to the People's
00:07:19.060Liberation Army and the CCP. Like what? I'm going to hope that there is no CCP plant at the CRA
00:07:26.160who whenever these things come across the desk of the CRA requests for information on Chinese
00:07:32.740Canadians that the Beijing wants, or maybe just other Canadians who were born here, that they're
00:07:38.860not going to immediately send it being loyal to the CCP because we've seen this in the Winnipeg
00:07:44.360lab during COVID, we have seen this now with the NATO situation, and many, many other times we've
00:07:50.460seen even CCP operatives, people affiliated with CCP front groups, penetrating the cabinet staff
00:07:57.540of governments around Canada. We had Ding Guo in the BC government who was advising David Eby,
00:08:05.120and he's just obviously a CCP plant. The BC Conservative Party is literally running a CCP
00:08:11.040plant as one of their candidates for richmond steveston brandon zhang who helped start the
00:08:17.060grizzly bear institute which is like a partner of the beijing consulate in canada who does like
00:08:23.540research and promotes the belt and road initiative of china in canada this stuff happens all over the
00:08:29.320place another reason to vote 1bc if you have a 1bc candidate in your riding but and we're just
00:08:33.880gonna say no no no guys we couldn't imagine that this will result in anything bad well there's
00:08:39.480there's safeguards. There are things in place. Yes, this bill gets rid of those safeguards,
00:08:43.100but historically there have been. So what's the worry of getting rid of them? Because nothing
00:08:47.060bad has happened up to this point. So let's take all the safeguards away. It's like,
00:08:51.300oh my goodness. It's like saying I've never been robbed. So the locks on my door are useless.
00:08:56.520So let's just remove the locks because I've never been robbed. Maybe you haven't been robbed because
00:09:00.400you have locks on your doors. Who knows? Maybe that if you remove all the windows from your
00:09:04.940house and you take all the locks off the doors you will be robbed more crazy concept i know guys
00:09:10.700in as probably one of the best organization when you come to syria actually minister canada is
00:09:16.000known as one of the hotbeds for foreign interference onto your government so that that doesn't reassure
00:09:20.740any canadian that you will not notify them when their information is given to a foreign government
00:09:25.660and i would i would advise you highly to look into that make sure canadians are notified when
00:09:31.020their give when their information is given to foreign actors yeah uh so that's all not great
00:09:37.240that's all very much not cool i just want to leave you guys on this other piece of information i want
00:09:42.800to talk about because i get driven up the wall whenever there's all these polls saying that
00:09:46.740canadians are optimistic we're moving in the right direction they highly approve of mark carney
00:09:50.900do they here's the thing i'm a polling guy i really like polls whenever i see polls like that
00:09:55.980the poll isn't lying but what it's doing is it's measuring something that's not real
00:10:01.460People are giving these answers saying that they like Mark Carney and they think the country is moving in the right direction, but it's all dumb vibes.
00:10:08.420When you actually start to dig down and say, well, how is the government doing on this or how do you feel about this issue?
00:10:17.120What we have is those who are financially well off are disproportionately very happy with Carney and the Liberals' performance on fighting back against Trump.
00:10:26.300But when you ask about something like homeownership, it is not nearly as happy with people.
00:10:32.860So with Pierre Polyev here, we see he says,
00:10:35.940After 11 years of liberals, the dream of homeownership feels impossibly out of reach.
00:10:41.480Let's eliminate bureaucracy and red tape, get government out of the way, blah, blah, blah.
00:10:46.820But there's this very interesting chart.
00:10:49.100It says where homeownership feels out of reach.
00:10:51.500And this is from a poll from Habitat for Humanity, October 2026.
00:10:57.100And Canada is at the top of the list of countries where people think that they cannot own a home.
00:11:03.780Of non-homeowners answering the poll, 56% of non-homeowners in Canada thinks that owning a home is out of reach for them.
00:11:13.800Australia is below it, 52%, a country just notorious for having a massive housing bubble.
00:11:19.440You know, Kingdom 50, USA 42, Ireland 42.
00:11:23.300And when you go downwards, like, yeah, you got a lot of these kind of like much third world countries or developing countries where it's only like 6% or 5% of people think it's out of reach because they have proper free markets for their housing in terms of they're not overregulated.
00:11:39.520In a place like British Columbia, you don't have these stupid green step codes that make housing completely unaffordable because everything needs to be perfectly green or you're not allowed to build it.
00:11:48.180Or, again, you have all these land issues and issues with actually allowing developers to build and way too much immigration.
00:11:56.400This, it gives the lie to the whole idea that Mark Carney is doing a good job.
00:12:02.220When you actually ask people about how are you doing personally, financially, how are grocery prices affecting you?
00:12:08.660Do you think you're ever going to be able to own a home?
00:12:10.520The answer across the board is people are worried and they don't think they're going to achieve things that their parents achieved.
00:12:15.740And so whenever I see these polling leads for Mark Carney where he's ahead by 18 points, that's where I always keep the cautious optimism of knowing that as these things get worse, people will start to have the sort of dream idea that Carney's this financial guru who's going to save us all.
00:12:32.800that's just going to go away eventually.
00:12:35.040We're going to have to ride through these waves as conservatives
00:12:37.600where Canadians seem delusional at the time
00:12:40.260because of all the feelings about wanting to back Carney against Trump.
00:12:44.880But that's a temporary fight that as it tapers off
00:12:48.400and as people say, can we get to a trade deal?
00:12:50.620I think his polling is going to collapse eventually.
