00:00:00.000 These days in Canada, I think it's about every day we hear the absolute dumbest thing in our
00:00:06.840 entire lives, often coming out of the face of an NDP or a Liberal MP, sometimes that being Prime
00:00:13.040 Minister Justin Trudeau himself. These people do not have their feet firmly planted on the ground,
00:00:18.700 and yet they are currently in government in Canada, despite the fact that these people have
00:00:23.560 the political priorities and beliefs of 18-year-old anthropology students who aren't even particularly
00:00:29.060 good. Laurel Collins is getting my award for the dumbest comment ever for this statement that she
00:00:35.300 made in a committee meeting yesterday, going on a rant about how climate change is gendered and how
00:00:41.020 she is rightfully hysterical about the issues when really she just wants to give in to her wanting
00:00:47.780 to ruin your entire standard of living through massive taxes and regulations on energy. Check
00:00:53.320 this out. I want to start off by addressing one of the comments that was made by the witnesses
00:00:58.400 around climate hysterics. Hysterics, hysteria, it refers to something that is wildly emotional.
00:01:08.760 It comes from the Greek word womb, of the womb. It is used in ancient Greek to refer to things
00:01:18.000 associated with women. And I think, I hope you'll forgive me if I get emotional.
00:01:23.220 I'm not going to forgive you. You're an elected official. The funny thing is that the people who
00:01:29.320 cry about sexism the most and are the strongest feminists are the ones who lean into being
00:01:35.020 emotionally not in control the most. I always find it's some NDP or liberal MP who plays the card
00:01:41.280 that, well, you guys are being sexist, but I'm emotional because I'm a woman who has to deal with a lot of...
00:01:46.460 This is just weakness. It's just weakness. It's not because you're a woman. That's, if anything,
00:01:51.520 sexist for you to suggest that you're only emotional about this because of the fact that
00:01:57.100 you're a woman and this is affecting women all around the planet. You're not. You're not an adult.
00:02:01.600 That's why you're having an emotional breakdown in a committee meeting where you're supposed to be
00:02:05.860 professional and all business all the time.
00:02:08.200 Climate emergencies are not gender neutral. The degradation of ecosystems disproportionately impacts
00:02:16.720 women and girls. And I am wildly emotional. This is the existential crisis of our time.
00:02:27.240 And to hear that we're asking for high ambition is climate hysteria.
00:02:33.880 It is. You are modeling it perfectly right now, Laura. Again, what she is saying is that
00:02:40.540 please respect my tears, my puffy energy, and please ruin the energy industry. Can you just
00:02:49.580 please pay 40% more in your energy bill over the next year? Can you please pay triple the amount in
00:02:55.360 the next 10 years? Because we need to tackle the climate change emergency. Is there maybe problems
00:03:01.420 of the climate? Sure. Also, none of what she's suggesting would help at all. It's just her
00:03:07.100 wanting to use emotion in order to argue in favor of points that she does not actually have the facts
00:03:13.060 to back up. She does not actually have a plan to reduce emissions that would actually make people
00:03:18.060 more prosperous in the long run. She simply wants you to give in to her, passing more taxes,
00:03:23.560 more regulations on the back of the idea that you're a big old sexist if you don't want to do it,
00:03:28.220 even though she's mad at people for using the word hysteria, because that's supposedly sexist.
00:03:33.900 Because when we go back to the fossil record, it's somewhat associated with women. But then she
00:03:39.600 also wants to play the card that I'm a woman and you must now listen to me. It's this is why nobody
00:03:44.720 likes the NDP and the liberals. That makes me wildly emotional. Absolutely. You know, when I think about
00:03:52.480 my womb, you know, the two children that I bore from that womb, and what future we are leaving them,
00:03:59.280 I am wildly emotional. And it's not surprising to hear this from someone who has written articles
00:04:06.780 that are pro-life. Oh, wow. Oh, my goodness. Pro-life? Pro-pro-life? You mean like how you were pro-life
00:04:15.380 when you had your two kids? Everyone's pro-life fundamentally. The idea that we're now going to
00:04:20.420 like clutch our pearls because a witness was pro-life is just silly. And it's going to make
00:04:25.420 more people pro-life when this is the lady who is holding up the pro-choice end of the argument.
00:04:31.560 I think that we need to think about the intersection of gender and the climate crisis.
00:04:38.040 And I hope that the people around this table and the people listening will refrain from using
00:04:45.020 language like climate hysteria. Oh, my goodness. You are just using it and like calling yourself
00:04:50.320 hysterical in a positive sense. Look at her hands. You're facing a climate emergency.
00:04:55.120 This is somebody who is just not equipped to being in parliament. Sad news. I looked up on 338 the
00:05:01.660 projections for her riding. She's probably going to hold on to the seat. Does she deserve it? No.
00:05:06.480 Is she a serious person? Not at all. She's an activist who snuck into parliament and is here
00:05:12.540 to talk about how we need to destroy our economy because then we might be able to reduce global
00:05:18.480 emissions by 0.1%. This is nonsense. The liberals have not reduced emissions. The NDP liberal coalition
00:05:25.660 government over the past five years hasn't reduced emissions because if they actually were serious about
00:05:29.940 reducing emissions, they would take on my plan, which would just be deregulating natural gas
00:05:35.140 and letting local communities use the most local and efficient form of energy possible because that's
00:05:40.800 actually how the U.S. reduced its emissions. I don't really put that high a value on reducing emissions
00:05:46.120 because I think that human prosperity and standard of living come before abstract notions about how we
00:05:52.700 can affect the climate. But if you do want to reduce emissions while making people better off at the
00:05:57.820 same time, let them use the energy they actually want to use. By forcing people to use wind and solar,
00:06:03.800 not only are you making power bills go up, but you're making the power grids less efficient.
00:06:09.260 You are actually requiring coal and other forms of power to stick around longer because they need
00:06:13.820 to be supplemented by those power sources because green and solar do not work that well. This is why
00:06:19.840 people in Ontario pay so much money for energy right now. It's because 8% of the grid is mandated to be
00:06:26.880 solar and wind. And because solar and wind has a very difficult time ramping up for like for high capacity
00:06:35.200 or for large energy needs because it's not always sunny and it's not always windy, it's actually requiring
00:06:40.660 more energy to be burned because 8% of the grid must always be supplied by green energy. That means at night
00:06:47.920 they have to store solar so that they can be continuing to provide solar at night. So they have to burn a
00:06:53.880 one to one ratio of coal in order to save one unit of solar. They have to burn one unit of natural gas
00:07:01.440 to store one unit of wind because you need to burn a kilowatt hour to store a kilowatt hour. It's
00:07:10.040 completely nutty. And in order to incentivize like providers to bring green energy onto the grid,
00:07:16.740 they pay wildly more amounts of taxpayer money in order to incentivize these companies to do it.
00:07:21.960 So while natural gas in Ontario is being provided on the grid at a compensation rate of 7, 8 cents per
00:07:28.280 kilowatt hour, green energy, wind and solar are getting like 40 cents. They're getting like 42 cents
00:07:34.660 a kilowatt hour to provide this, even though it's supposedly such a cheap form of energy. It's only
00:07:39.460 cheap when you take all the subsidies out of, you just don't assume that those cost anything for some
00:07:44.460 reason. That's when they're cheap. But when you think of all the extra infrastructure you need to
00:07:48.760 compensate for the failings of green and wind plus the subsidies, that 8% in Ontario is now more than
00:07:55.300 50% of your power bills. If they actually just clear cut all of the windmills, got rid of the
00:08:00.360 solar panels and went back to coal and natural gas, emissions probably go down and power bills would go
00:08:05.820 down. Same thing in Alberta. They need to get coal power plants back up online. You should, the province
00:08:11.500 should just be paying whatever low amount of money they can get for whatever power they can get.
00:08:15.940 Take whatever power onto the grid and we will actually lower emissions and also, sorry,
00:08:21.320 costs and emissions, rather than forcing ourselves to use a certain amount of green energy that is
00:08:26.540 just not market efficient and also requires extra carbon emitting infrastructure in order to sustain
00:08:33.320 it. It's completely wacky. But, you know, in the world of Galora Collins, this is just pesky details
00:08:39.620 that can be overcome by getting hysterical on camera and demanding that we give way to our
00:08:45.780 climate emergency type views where pretty much anything is justified in order to slightly reduce
00:08:53.320 emissions. Like this lady would be perfectly willing to make poor people much worse off as long as that
00:08:59.000 she got to say at the end of the year, you know, that we reduced 2% emissions this year. Wow,
00:09:03.340 aren't we fantastic? That should be it for me today, guys. If you want to donate to our legal fund,
00:09:09.280 it's the Give, Send, Go link in the description below. If you live in the riding of Calgary Signal
00:09:13.840 Hill, I am running for the Calgary Signal Hill Conservative Party nomination. The deadline for
00:09:18.340 memberships closed a while ago, but if you're a member and you live in this riding, make sure to
00:09:22.360 mark me number one on your ballot, mark Michael Kim number two, and I'll probably release a more full
00:09:27.000 list later. I think I have a very good chance to win. At the same time, you always want to hedge your
00:09:30.960 bets with other people that you think, if I didn't win, I would want this other person to win
00:09:35.480 instead. Have a good one, everyone.
