00:00:00.220 Federal Conservative Party leader Pierre Polyev has been having a really good week,
00:00:04.720 and it's not just because all the polls are still showing him 20 points ahead of the Liberals,
00:00:09.540 but he's been landing really good shots on Justin Trudeau and the Liberal government on their failures on housing.
00:00:15.860 They've been putting out graphics like this, hitting Justin Trudeau for the fact that rent is increasing
00:00:20.880 at the same time he keeps putting out all these bloated housing plans,
00:00:24.380 and that the new housing starts have even gone down.
00:00:27.100 Despite the billions of dollars the Liberals are funneling into new housing acceleration funds
00:00:32.660 or whatever Sean Frazier is working on these days, it's all completely worthless.
00:00:37.020 But Pierre Polyev had this really good clip.
00:00:39.520 I think this is what actually makes it a great week for him,
00:00:42.600 because he points out what both Justin Trudeau and the Liberal government do,
00:00:46.300 as well as the Liberal-aligned legacy media,
00:00:49.160 trying to fear-monger against the Conservatives going after these bloated programs,
00:00:53.220 pretending that Pierre Polyev is stealing something away from Canadians,
00:00:56.780 if he gets into the government and cuts these programs,
00:00:59.920 when in fact the programs aren't getting anyone any service,
00:01:03.360 and he's merely cleaning up inefficiencies and waste that will make people's lives way better off.
00:01:08.820 Here's Pierre Polyev talking to reporters about this at a press conference.
00:01:13.280 I always find it interesting when the media comes to me and says,
00:01:17.340 Justin Trudeau has promised a utopia.
00:01:19.220 Are you going to remove his utopia if you get elected?
00:01:22.920 Well, let's see this utopia first.
00:01:26.960 So far, it has, but the word utopia, ironically, in ancient Greek means no place,
00:01:33.780 and no place has Justin Trudeau followed through on any of his promises.
00:01:39.040 Justin Trudeau is not worth the cost, the crime, and corruption.
00:01:43.300 And we will replace him after the carbon tax election with a Conservative government
00:01:47.080 that will axe the tax, build the homes, fix the budget, and stop the crime.
00:01:51.220 I hope he watches my show because that's the exact point I've been wanting the Conservative Party to make for months now.
00:01:57.060 When the media and when Trudeau and their different surrogates go after you saying,
00:02:01.480 are you going to cut the universal dental program?
00:02:03.780 Are you going to cut the pharmacare program?
00:02:06.200 Are you going to cut this or that?
00:02:07.740 You actually have to ask, how are those programs performing?
00:02:10.620 If they're not performing well, we are taking nothing away from people.
00:02:14.140 If anything, we're giving them back their own money so they can seek far better quality services at a faster rate
00:02:20.860 rather than just waiting for the government to do it for them.
00:02:23.960 And the service quality is probably going to be terrible,
00:02:25.980 and you're probably going to have to pay deductibles for any of this stuff anyways.
00:02:29.500 It's so silly, and it's great that Polyev is now hitting at this dumb media narrative
00:02:33.980 that they're trying to concoct, where it's an election about Trudeau giving you everything that you possibly could want
00:02:40.380 and pure poly of stealing it away, when if anyone just looks at their bank accounts,
00:02:45.880 they know all of the promises are hollow.
00:02:48.400 They haven't gotten anything from the Justin Trudeau Liberal government.
00:02:52.020 They've only been hurt.
00:02:53.100 Taxes have gone up.
00:02:54.540 The inflation has definitely gone up.
00:02:56.940 Service quality has gone down.
00:02:58.600 Wait times for services have gone down.
00:03:00.580 Some of that is a provincial responsibility.
00:03:02.640 But whenever federal involvement has taken place, they've made it worse, especially on housing.
00:03:09.940 Housing is a complete turkey of an issue for the Liberals.
00:03:13.320 There's a reason why, when you look at the Liberals' hypothetical leadership polling,
00:03:18.700 Sean Frazier comes dead last in terms of people's impression of him.
00:03:23.180 Even though the Liberals keep trying to propagandize in favor of Housing Minister Sean Frazier,
00:03:27.700 nobody likes him, because they perceive that his portfolio of government is the area where the Liberals have failed on the most.
00:03:34.880 Plus, he is very heavily responsible for all the issues.
00:03:38.600 He's not just an ineffective person who was brought in to try and fix the problem.
00:03:42.820 He helped Trudeau create the problem.
00:03:44.860 Because, as you will know, before Sean Frazier was the housing minister, he was the immigration minister.
00:03:50.260 And his own staff, his own deputy ministers, were telling him,
00:03:55.220 please lower immigration.
00:03:56.740 Please put caps on foreign students, temporary foreign workers, and permanent residents,
00:04:01.200 or we're going to have housing prices balloon.
00:04:03.940 And after he failed at that area of government handsomely,
00:04:08.000 they stuck Mark Miller instead into the immigration minister's job.
00:04:12.040 And then they gave Sean Frazier the housing role, which is really funny.
00:04:15.620 Basically, he started the bleeding, and they're going to try and get him to solve it.
00:04:19.020 And everything that Sean Frazier has rolled out, but let's be honest, it's just Trudeau's plans,
00:04:23.780 and Frazier is the messenger of them.
00:04:25.340 Everything they've rolled out is just saying, huh, there's a problem here.
00:04:29.620 Maybe we can stick a bunch of cash in this hole and cover it over so people don't notice it.
00:04:35.000 All of their plans are causing housing starts to fall.
00:04:37.860 The problem whenever the government gets involved in trying to create a sort of stimulus-type movement in the economy,
00:04:46.580 they're trying to stimulate the economy by injecting a bunch of cash into the sector,
00:04:50.460 it never works.
00:04:51.700 Because if you're going to take federal dollars,
00:04:54.180 you have to start following even stricter and slower to follow federal regulations, codes, whatnot,
00:05:00.540 environmental inspections.
00:05:02.500 So every time cities, like the city of Calgary just did because they're stupid,
00:05:06.320 passes this blanket rezoning in order to get these federal dollars as a part of their acceleration fund,
00:05:11.380 they're really just signing up to burning $260 million in the case of Calgary to get nothing done.
00:05:17.580 Because all of the money is going to get eaten up by federal consultants,
00:05:21.920 federal environmental inspectors,
00:05:23.540 and other things that the city now has to do to even access the money.
00:05:27.440 So when you have to pay $50 to access $40,
00:05:30.220 I would put to you that that's not a very good deal.
00:05:33.580 But that's what the federal government's been doing all along.
00:05:36.420 And that's where Pierre Polyev is here pointing out that housing starts month to month
00:05:40.580 compared to last year are now done on 1% to 2%, depending on the month,
00:05:45.440 which is horrific because Trudeau wants us to build supposedly 4 million houses by 2031,
00:05:52.920 which would, I believe, require us to almost double the amount of houses that we're building per year.
00:05:59.360 And housing starts over the last four years have been dropping steadily.
00:06:03.820 They can't just say, oh, well, we hadn't quite rolled out the new housing plan yet.
00:06:08.220 It will take a little bit.
00:06:09.340 It shouldn't take a little bit to come into effect.
00:06:12.000 If this was a solid plan that made it easier to build,
00:06:15.800 housing would just start popping up everywhere.
00:06:17.800 There wouldn't be a lot of waiting time
00:06:19.280 because developers would just start purchasing land
00:06:21.840 or negotiating with cities to purchase the land and start building right away.
00:06:25.520 Nobody wants to get involved because unless you're a massive developer
00:06:29.340 who has the legal team in order to navigate all these new regulations
00:06:33.380 and requirements that you have to do,
00:06:36.540 nobody's actually going to jump to the incentives.
00:06:39.340 And again, all these incentive programs cause more inflation,
00:06:43.240 which means it is more expensive to build homes,
00:06:45.720 which means that the money was completely worthless
00:06:48.080 and less people are going to build homes
00:06:49.740 because there is less of a market for homes because people can't afford anything.
00:06:53.120 I'm not even kidding.
00:06:54.120 So as you guys know, I'm Wyatt Claypool and I'm running for the Calgary Signal Hill Conservative Party nomination.
00:07:00.600 If you're in this riding, vote for me number one on your ballot.
00:07:03.080 If you're a Conservative Party member, I was door knocking around a certain section of my riding.
00:07:08.240 I'm not going to say the specific place.
00:07:09.600 And this is happening all over the city right now where there are houses who have foreign owners
00:07:15.620 who either don't live in the country or they're permanent residents who don't live in the area
00:07:19.220 who are renting out individual rooms on the top and bottom floor of the house for like $500 a month.
00:07:26.380 That's not $500 for like an apartment, which would be a very good deal.
00:07:30.060 This is $500 for like a bedroom.
00:07:32.700 This is like $600, $700 for like a bedroom and the downstairs half bath.
00:07:38.120 This is what is being charged for basically nothing.
00:07:41.800 It's actually illegal, but the city of Calgary and the police won't crack down on this stuff
00:07:46.020 because they know the housing situation is such garbage because of the high immigration rate
00:07:50.780 that they can't turn these people out of the house because if they do,
00:07:54.360 they are going to be nowhere to put them.
00:07:56.040 And so right now we're in the stupid masquerade
00:07:58.440 where we pretend that we can just build our way out of this problem.
00:08:01.660 And as much as you have PPC guys coming by and saying,
00:08:04.300 oh, well, Pierre Polyev's in favor of mass immigration.
00:08:07.000 He's not.
00:08:07.640 On several occasions now, he's saying that he will lower housing bill,
00:08:11.760 he will lower immigration until people can actually afford housing.
00:08:15.260 That immigration should fall in line with how much housing is actually being built
00:08:19.460 and what the price of that housing is,
00:08:21.480 which is basically indicating it's going to have to be significantly reduced
00:08:25.260 in order to get control of the current market
00:08:28.300 and make sure that not just that new permanent residents can afford homes,
00:08:31.760 but citizens, people trying to move out of their parents' basements,
00:08:35.140 can also afford houses because it's not enough just to stabilize the housing price.
00:08:39.120 We need the housing prices to start trending downwards
00:08:41.500 because 20 years in the future,
00:08:43.300 the current housing prices would still be considered way too expensive.
00:08:47.200 Housing prices have more than doubled since Justin Trudeau.
00:08:50.460 I think it was like 60, 70%.
00:08:52.000 They've gone up by like 60, 70% since he got into power.
00:08:55.460 That is not normal inflation.
00:08:57.360 No other product has gone up that much other than like microchips
00:09:00.900 or other sort of tech products that have a lot of like, you know,
00:09:04.060 supply chain strains on.
00:09:07.700 So yeah, great to see him actually call out the media for doing this stupid.
00:09:11.840 He's going to take away all the benefits Trudeau's giving you.
00:09:14.800 They're not benefits.
00:09:15.760 They're what we call in the trade poison pills.
00:09:18.100 Everything that the Trudeau liberals are giving out are poison pills
00:09:21.740 meant to think that you're benefiting.
00:09:23.560 At the same time, they're just going to require the government
00:09:26.020 to give you more assistance in the future
00:09:27.680 for no discernible gain in your actual standard of living.
00:09:31.900 Oh, anyways, that should be it for me today, guys.
00:09:34.840 I have my legal fund in the description of this video.
00:09:37.300 It's the give, send, go link.
00:09:38.520 And if you live in Calgary Signal Hill, it's on the west side of the city.
00:09:41.680 If you're a conservative party member out here, vote for me number one on your ballot.
00:09:45.000 We don't want one of these guys who's either a failed MLA from a different jurisdiction
00:09:49.100 or they're just some random business guy with like 30 years of whatever,
00:09:53.580 like 30 years on his resume.
00:09:54.820 And he thinks that's enough to get him across the finish line
00:09:57.440 when all these guys are basically red Tories
00:09:59.640 simply looking to occupy a conservative seat
00:10:02.440 because they can't win as a liberal.
00:10:04.060 That should be it for me, you guys.
00:10:05.840 Have a good one.
