00:00:00.440 Everyone's talking about it, so I'm going to be supremely lazy and talk about it, too.
00:00:04.500 There's a lot of negativity going around on Twitter right now about the new Conservative Party logo.
00:00:09.640 Everyone thinks, like, just because it's not immediately the most, like, stylistic, cutting-edge logo ever, it's somehow terrible and bad, and I can't believe they would do this, or are they trying to lose the next election kind of nonsense.
00:00:21.560 I actually kind of like the new logo.
00:00:23.160 There's a certain charm to it, like it was designed on MS Paint after booting up Windows 98 and drinking a bottle of Zima.
00:00:29.160 There's that sort of mid-to-late 90s basicness to it that kind of works for me.
00:00:34.400 It's neutral.
00:00:35.460 It's just the Conservative Party, and that's it. 0.91
00:00:38.180 It's not meant to be sort of a big stylistic statement like Aaron O'Toole's stupid logo was, and that's, frankly, the best thing about the new logo is it's no longer Aaron O'Toole's ego logo that he had when he was leader.
00:00:49.320 Even though the Conservative Party logo had been the same since 2004, he decided that he was going to be the man to redesign it and make it a big military reference at the same time, 0.77
00:00:59.000 because, hey, did you know Aaron O'Toole was part of the military?
00:01:01.740 Like, that was, like, one of the only good things on his resume, so he would never shut up about it.
00:01:05.800 And then it ended up sort of infecting the logo of the Conservative Party just to really drive home the fact that he used to sit on helicopters at one point.
00:01:14.080 Whatever.
00:01:14.340 I'm happy that we've gotten past Aaron O'Toole as the leader, and we've officially made it very clear by getting rid of his old logo after he left Parliament.
00:01:24.220 But I think one of the best things about this logo is something that a lot of people haven't talked about yet.
00:01:29.440 I think that this logo right here is basically a troll.
00:01:33.720 Not that this is not the serious logo they're going to go with.
00:01:36.060 They're not going to change it to something else in two weeks.
00:01:38.260 I think that logo is absolutely fine.
00:01:40.240 It's inoffensive.
00:01:40.800 And, frankly, when you're making a logo, your logo should be inoffensive.
00:01:44.060 But what's brilliant about it is it has the same kind of trolling energy as did Pure Polly of taking off his glasses and having the media freak out for three weeks straight.
00:01:54.080 That was a brilliant move back in the day because even though I was like, I think he maybe looks better with his glasses,
00:01:59.740 what he ended up doing was making sure that the media made him as an opposition leader famous.
00:02:04.940 Because the problem with being an opposition leader is until the writ for the election drops,
00:02:09.760 there's usually about 50% of the country who doesn't really know who you are in any way.
00:02:14.520 And even the 50% who do, they have like vague impressions of you.
00:02:17.860 They've seen your name come up in a couple stories.
00:02:19.480 Maybe they saw you waving when you won the leadership of your party.
00:02:22.700 That's kind of it.
00:02:23.620 But with Pure Polly of taking off his glasses, he made sure that the media burned the image of his face both with and without glasses into the minds of Canadians
00:02:33.460 and talked about him constantly, talked about the strategy of the party, talked about the new direction that he's going in.
00:02:39.200 It was actually fantastic.
00:02:41.220 And I think this logo, this one right here, is meant to do the exact same thing.
00:02:45.540 And it's kind of designed to be bland in such a way that people are going to say, like, why are the conservatives doing this?
00:02:52.580 Why would Pure Polly of go in this direction with the logo? 1.00
00:02:55.480 And they're just going to keep talking about it and talking about the sort of politics of redesigning the logo after O'Toole stopped being leader.
00:03:02.540 Oh, is this a jab at O'Toole?
00:03:04.300 Oh, is this kind of rebranding for the new Pure Polly of conservatives or whatever?
00:03:09.460 And it's a great little attention getter right as the Conservative Party convention starts today.
00:03:14.240 It's an incredibly smart way of doing things.
00:03:17.040 And I think that this was very much intentional.
00:03:19.840 And you can even tell that it's sort of already starting to work because there's Toronto Star headlines already referencing the glasses move alongside the logo move.
00:03:29.500 They even had the headline going that Pure Polly has a new look and the Conservative Party has a new logo.
00:03:36.300 These two things that they did, the glasses and the logo, are entirely intentional to be able to get the Conservative Party more attention.
00:03:43.160 And the great thing is that they're getting themselves more attention at the same time that Trudeau's negatives are as high as ever.
00:03:49.500 I just made a video about the fact that, like, literally the Liberals are potentially going to be, like, sub-90 seats.
00:03:55.720 It's absolutely hilarious to watch how bad the party's gotten underneath Trudeau's inability to actually admit to any mistakes.
00:04:02.340 I just want to bring that poll back up on screen right now. 0.74
00:04:04.580 Like, this is disgusting.
00:04:06.340 It's 40% Conservatives, 26% Liberals. 0.96
00:04:08.900 Like, man, fire your leader.
00:04:10.920 Get rid of Justin Trudeau if you guys actually want to win an election.
00:04:13.900 But whatever.
00:04:14.740 I think the Conservative Party is doing a great job of using this bad turn of luck for Justin Trudeau in the polls.
00:04:21.660 He's doing absolutely terribly.
00:04:23.360 So the Conservative Party should be eating up as much attention to make sure that Canadians have it clear in their mind that the ascendant party to take over after Justin Trudeau fails in 2025 is Pierre Polyev and the Conservatives.
00:04:35.160 And even just that little change of the logo is going to make people highlight the Conservatives at a time when they're riding high in the polls, making it seem like they're the new fresh party to actually take power in this country.
00:04:48.320 But anyways, maybe you can let me know what your thoughts are on the poll.
00:04:51.880 Make sure to like this video.
00:04:53.080 Share it.
00:04:54.140 You know, tell me if you like the O'Toole or the new party logo better or the original one from 2004.
00:04:59.380 I'd also want to throw that one in there. 0.70
00:05:00.720 And then other than that, I have my normal donation link in the description of this video.
00:05:05.860 I'm being sued by like a Chinese billionaire who's trying to sue me in my publication for defamation.
00:05:11.620 I've already paid $15,000 into defending us.
00:05:14.880 And right now we're winning the case, but every dollar helps us be able to get by.
00:05:18.640 And then I also have in the description a sign-up link for TNT emails because we will be putting up early bird ticket codes through our email list for people living around the Calgary area because there is the Ben Shapiro live show happening in southwest Calgary on November 16th.
00:05:35.660 The regular tickets go on sale from the Wilberforce Project on September 14th, but we'll be likely releasing the tickets at least a few days before that date.
00:05:45.120 So I guess that's it for me today.
00:05:47.160 Have a great day, everyone.
00:05:48.640 Have a great day.
