The Conservative Party has a new logo, and it s getting a whole lot of attention. It s a good one, and a bad one, but it s good enough that it s already getting a good amount of media attention.

00:00:04.500There's a lot of negativity going around on Twitter right now about the new Conservative Party logo.
00:00:09.640Everyone thinks, like, just because it's not immediately the most, like, stylistic, cutting-edge logo ever, it's somehow terrible and bad, and I can't believe they would do this, or are they trying to lose the next election kind of nonsense.
00:00:35.460It's just the Conservative Party, and that's it.
00:00:38.180It's not meant to be sort of a big stylistic statement like Aaron O'Toole's stupid logo was, and that's, frankly, the best thing about the new logo is it's no longer Aaron O'Toole's ego logo that he had when he was leader.
00:00:49.320Even though the Conservative Party logo had been the same since 2004, he decided that he was going to be the man to redesign it and make it a big military reference at the same time,
00:00:59.000because, hey, did you know Aaron O'Toole was part of the military?
00:01:01.740Like, that was, like, one of the only good things on his resume, so he would never shut up about it.
00:01:05.800And then it ended up sort of infecting the logo of the Conservative Party just to really drive home the fact that he used to sit on helicopters at one point.
00:01:14.340I'm happy that we've gotten past Aaron O'Toole as the leader, and we've officially made it very clear by getting rid of his old logo after he left Parliament.
00:01:24.220But I think one of the best things about this logo is something that a lot of people haven't talked about yet.
00:01:29.440I think that this logo right here is basically a troll.
00:01:33.720Not that this is not the serious logo they're going to go with.
00:01:36.060They're not going to change it to something else in two weeks.
00:01:40.800And, frankly, when you're making a logo, your logo should be inoffensive.
00:01:44.060But what's brilliant about it is it has the same kind of trolling energy as did Pure Polly of taking off his glasses and having the media freak out for three weeks straight.
00:01:54.080That was a brilliant move back in the day because even though I was like, I think he maybe looks better with his glasses,
00:01:59.740what he ended up doing was making sure that the media made him as an opposition leader famous.
00:02:04.940Because the problem with being an opposition leader is until the writ for the election drops,
00:02:09.760there's usually about 50% of the country who doesn't really know who you are in any way.
00:02:14.520And even the 50% who do, they have like vague impressions of you.
00:02:17.860They've seen your name come up in a couple stories.
00:02:19.480Maybe they saw you waving when you won the leadership of your party.
00:02:23.620But with Pure Polly of taking off his glasses, he made sure that the media burned the image of his face both with and without glasses into the minds of Canadians
00:02:33.460and talked about him constantly, talked about the strategy of the party, talked about the new direction that he's going in.
00:02:41.220And I think this logo, this one right here, is meant to do the exact same thing.
00:02:45.540And it's kind of designed to be bland in such a way that people are going to say, like, why are the conservatives doing this?
00:02:52.580Why would Pure Polly of go in this direction with the logo?
00:02:55.480And they're just going to keep talking about it and talking about the sort of politics of redesigning the logo after O'Toole stopped being leader.
00:03:04.300Oh, is this kind of rebranding for the new Pure Polly of conservatives or whatever?
00:03:09.460And it's a great little attention getter right as the Conservative Party convention starts today.
00:03:14.240It's an incredibly smart way of doing things.
00:03:17.040And I think that this was very much intentional.
00:03:19.840And you can even tell that it's sort of already starting to work because there's Toronto Star headlines already referencing the glasses move alongside the logo move.
00:03:29.500They even had the headline going that Pure Polly has a new look and the Conservative Party has a new logo.
00:03:36.300These two things that they did, the glasses and the logo, are entirely intentional to be able to get the Conservative Party more attention.
00:03:43.160And the great thing is that they're getting themselves more attention at the same time that Trudeau's negatives are as high as ever.
00:03:49.500I just made a video about the fact that, like, literally the Liberals are potentially going to be, like, sub-90 seats.
00:03:55.720It's absolutely hilarious to watch how bad the party's gotten underneath Trudeau's inability to actually admit to any mistakes.
00:04:02.340I just want to bring that poll back up on screen right now.
00:04:23.360So the Conservative Party should be eating up as much attention to make sure that Canadians have it clear in their mind that the ascendant party to take over after Justin Trudeau fails in 2025 is Pierre Polyev and the Conservatives.
00:04:35.160And even just that little change of the logo is going to make people highlight the Conservatives at a time when they're riding high in the polls, making it seem like they're the new fresh party to actually take power in this country.
