Summary

A post on the Liberal Party of Canada's official social media accounts reads: "Pure, right-wing American's priorities" and then it lists a list of far-right priorities, including denying climate change, cutting taxes for the wealthy, curbing gun control, and eliminating mandatory minimum sentences for illegal guns.

00:00:00.000 I think if you boiled down pure political desperation and encapsulated it in a singular
00:00:05.320 social media post, it would look a lot like this one posted by the Liberal Party of Canada
00:00:10.340 on their official X account. It was quite literally made on just the Notes app of someone's iPhone.
00:00:17.480 I guess they thought that this was really clever. So an intern spun this up on the Notes app and
00:00:22.140 then took a screenshot of it and posted it. And it reads in scratched out text first,
00:00:26.480 far right American. And then it continues reading as like the real title,
00:00:31.220 pure polio's priorities. And then it lists deny climate change. And I'm going to take these one
00:00:35.800 by one because they're just so dumb. What do you mean deny climate change? You got to actually
00:00:40.000 define your terms. Disagreeing with the carbon tax is not denying climate change. And just like
00:00:46.420 pointing it out because it just bears repeating, the carbon tax doesn't do anything to reduce
00:00:50.880 emissions. There is a reason why Stephen Gilboa, the environment minister and the Liberal government
00:00:55.800 do not even track whether or not the carbon tax has had any effect on climate emissions,
00:01:01.280 because it doesn't. They just know it doesn't. And if they actually studied whether it does or not,
00:01:06.120 they would just be shown to be complete frauds. But anyways, moving on to the second point,
00:01:10.800 then it says cut services to cut taxes for the wealthy. What services have the conservatives
00:01:16.600 decide they're going to cut? Which services? The budget in Canada, the federal government budget,
00:01:21.920 has gone up from $269 billion in 2015, Harper's last year's prime minister, all the way up to now,
00:01:30.240 which is about $449 billion. And it's probably going to go even higher once they actually roll
00:01:34.940 out the official budget for the 2024 fiscal year. I don't know what they think that the conservatives
00:01:42.000 are going to have to cut to balance the budget that's deeply important. There is so much administration
00:01:46.480 in HR that can be cut in order to actually give tax cuts to all Canadians. I don't know where they've
00:01:52.280 decided that Polyev's only going to cut taxes for like the top 1%. His entire narrative has been
00:01:57.720 cutting taxes for everyone, which cutting the carbon tax would also do. Okay, third point,
00:02:04.080 it says gut the middle class. What middle class? I'm pretty sure Justin Trudeau's already done a good
00:02:09.000 enough job gutting the middle class. I don't think I even have to say anything more on that one.
00:02:12.820 And then the fourth point is we can gun control. The liberals in Bill C-5 have lowered the sentences
00:02:20.300 or I think actually eliminated mandatory minimum sentences for carrying around an illegal handgun.
00:02:26.740 If you have an illegal handgun, not like an law-abiding citizen that the liberals are trying
00:02:31.960 to attack for like owning weapons and, you know, using them responsibly. They have lowered the
00:02:37.000 mandatory minimum. If you are a gangbanger carrying around a handgun in your waistband,
00:02:42.200 if you get caught, you don't actually have to go to prison anymore. So who's actually weakening gun
00:02:48.200 control here? The law-abiding gun owners are not a threat of violence to anybody. And pretending that
00:02:54.780 they are is just cowardice and not wanting to deal with the real violent threat, which is gangs in urban
00:03:00.120 and rural areas. Oh, okay. Completely annoying, but that's what the liberals have basically fallen down
00:03:07.040 to. They're just posting notes pages, basically saying the conservatives suck. They're far right.
00:03:13.280 Guys, level with me here. It didn't work before Durham. You got destroyed by Jamil Giovanni,
00:03:19.240 the conservative candidate in that riding. Yes, it's been a conservative riding since 2004,
00:03:23.980 but the conservatives did way better than they even normally do. And the liberals lost votes,
00:03:29.540 the vote share since they last ran in that riding. It's horrible for them. And they threw
00:03:34.040 everything they had at that riding. You guys are not going to be able to try and recover your polling
00:03:39.120 numbers by running the same play after the Durham by-election. If anything, most voters just look
00:03:45.660 at you and think, well, they're out of ideas. And your own base is probably not going to show up
00:03:49.500 because they just detect that you also think that you're going to lose. But now I just want to cut
00:03:53.800 over to a video of Justin Trudeau now marketing this new Pharmacare plan that he came up with,
00:03:59.480 with himself and Jagmeet Singh. It's complete trash. It's going to cost taxpayers billions of dollars
00:04:05.440 to effectively not deliver any benefits to anybody. But there's a certain element of this
00:04:10.740 I just find hilarious the way he talks about the plan.
00:04:15.560 Far too many people are having to make choices between putting groceries on the table or paying
00:04:21.440 rent or paying for their medication. Well, the only medications that the current Pharmacare plan
00:04:26.980 covers are diabetes medication, which you could say that some people have trouble paying for,
00:04:32.060 and contraceptives. That's just a weird narrative to me. Families are having to choose whether or not
00:04:37.880 to put food on the table or condoms. No, they're not. That's actually never been a choice. I know
00:04:42.880 there's other forms of contraception, obviously, but that's never been a choice for reasonable people,
00:04:47.760 whether they buy eggs and butter or they buy, I don't know, they buy the pill and condoms. That's
00:04:55.360 never been a choice. And with diabetes too, that's usually something that afflicts older Canadians.
00:05:01.940 It's not really something that many 15-year-olds, 24-year-olds have. Yeah, there are some, but this
00:05:07.580 is usually people who can afford to pay for the medication that now the taxpayer is subsidizing.
00:05:13.400 And most people already had insurance plans that covered these pharmaceuticals. Yes, we have public
00:05:18.960 insurance for medical emergencies and other sort of necessary things you need from hospitals,
00:05:23.220 but pharmaceuticals you would have to buy insurance for. And like very few Canadians were not covered
00:05:28.800 for that. And these are not exactly like crisis things that you need to cover. Yes, some people
00:05:34.100 benefit from a pharmacare plan, but that's every program. Every program benefits somebody. And if
00:05:39.660 we passed a program that we passed every single program that would benefit somebody, we would
00:05:44.220 effectively have no money left in people's wallets because we'd be too busy paying for things that
00:05:48.660 might be helpful. It's a foolish plan. And when they miss medication, not only does it lead to
00:05:57.680 much worse health outcomes for them and quality of life issues, but it ends up costing our medical
00:06:03.720 system much more in serious consequences. So how does this not justify just cutting taxes in general,
00:06:11.420 the carbon tax, income taxes, payroll tax, you know, gutting corporate taxes so that companies can hire
00:06:18.080 more people at higher wages? Why not? But he's never going to think of that because he likes the power
00:06:22.860 that taxing people more comes with. So moving forward on pharmacare, contraceptives and
00:06:29.680 and diabetes medications just makes sense in terms of not just being there for Canadians.
00:06:36.880 Oh yeah. Who cares about real arguments, guys? It just makes sense. It just makes sense. You know,
00:06:42.580 I remember in my dad's day when people didn't have to worry about putting a big old box of condoms on the
00:06:47.700 table for their family and making sure they have all the opportunities to succeed and have great
00:06:53.480 full fulfilled lives, but also countering the affordability challenges that we know Canadians
00:06:59.440 are facing right across the country. Goodness. Imagine having to be one of those women that he
00:07:03.840 forced to stand behind him to do this announcement as if you're like really into this very pathetic plan.
00:07:09.660 Jagmeet Singh got absolutely nothing out of this pharmacare plan. He's going around pretending like I did it.
00:07:14.160 I got our pharmacare plan for our progressive labor base. It's like you got nothing for diabetes
00:07:20.360 medication and contraceptives. Who cares? And again, we're probably going to be paying way more
00:07:25.720 in taxes in order to pay for this stuff that not many people needed. And remember, whenever there's
00:07:31.300 a pharmacare plan or a universal dental plan or like our medical system already is, a public insurance
00:07:38.000 program, what it does is it chases away supply because what the government's doing in order to secure
00:07:43.400 better deals for the Canadian public, it's not just bulk buying that's reducing the cost.
00:07:49.140 It's that they are trying to mandate that pharmaceutical companies pay or sell these
00:07:53.880 items to the government for less than they would have normally sold them on the free market.
00:07:59.060 So you're going to have a lot of people who produce diabetes, like medication, insulin,
00:08:03.400 all this type of stuff. They're just not going to produce as much for Canada because there's no
00:08:07.180 money in it. And there's nothing wrong with wanting money and providing a service that people want
00:08:11.540 because if you had no incentive to do it, nobody would ever do it. Just look at socialist
00:08:15.500 countries. They're not exactly known for their robust supply of food, medicine and other sorts
00:08:20.980 of services. But anyways, that should be it for me today, guys. Just want to want to quickly plug
00:08:26.520 that I, Wyatt Claypool, am running for the Calgary Signal Hill Conservative Party nomination.
00:08:31.340 If you live in Calgary Signal Hill, the boundaries on screen are what the new boundaries are going to
00:08:35.540 look like after April. If you generally live around this area by membership, check out my website
00:08:39.760 in the description below, WyattClaypool.com, or recommend me to anyone you know who lives
00:08:44.660 in the riding. I guarantee if you live in Alberta, you at least know one household in the area and
00:08:49.360 recommendations are gold for me. And anyways, other than that, you can also donate to the
00:08:54.540 Give, Send, Go legal fundraiser that I and the National Telegraph are running because we have this
00:08:58.580 ridiculous billionaire developer suing us for defamation. What did we defame him by saying?
00:09:04.020 Nothing. He's just suing us because. Our guest writer who mentioned him in our article about him and
00:09:09.600 others donating to Aaron O'Toole's leadership campaign, based all of the information off of
00:09:14.760 this guy on a long Globe and Mail investigation about him. The only thing we said that was new
00:09:19.360 about him was the fact that he was maxing out donations to O'Toole, which we had evidence for,
00:09:24.360 and everything else was evident, like evidenced by what the Globe and Mail had said, who had reported
00:09:29.760 this a year and a half ago. And evidently, he never sued them for it. But he's suing us because,
00:09:34.240 you know, now he's deeply wounded about us just mentioning the Globe and Mail reporting.
00:09:38.700 Annoying, but will survive. It's cost us $26,000 to fight this legal case. So any money you can
00:09:44.300 contribute to the legal fund does help us keep us afloat and allows us to invest in more important
00:09:49.000 things than just throwing money at this legal bill. Anyways, have a good one, guys.
