00:00:00.000 Hey guys, Wyatt Claypool here, and welcome back to the National Telegraph YouTube channel.
00:00:05.900 People wonder why conservatives are demanding to see the draft deal with the United States that Prime Minister Mark Carney walked away from.
00:00:14.560 Maybe it's because he keeps lying to us about things.
00:00:18.420 A few days ago, a story came out from the Wall Street Journal talking about how Mark Carney and the Liberals were trying to move Canada towards getting an associate membership with the European Union, which could require Canada to pay taxes to the EU and follow their rules and regulations, despite not actually having voting rights within the EU.
00:00:40.140 not that I want that either and now it turns out the EU seems to be under the impression that's
00:00:46.780 exactly what Prime Minister Carney wanted because that is what the president of the EU announced
00:00:53.180 today Ursula von der Leyen. I would like to work with you on opening the door for Canada to being
00:01:02.580 the first associate member of the European Union.
00:01:06.540 We will move from CETA to an alliance for the future
00:01:10.180 to create a common prosperity and economic security space.
00:01:14.960 We will work on intelligent manufacturing.
00:01:17.480 We will create a tech alliance.
00:01:19.000 We will integrate defense industrial bases.
00:01:22.560 We will make the Arctic a flagship joint project.
00:01:25.980 We will work on energy-critical minerals and batteries
00:01:28.680 on AI, quantum, cyber, and economic security.
00:01:32.580 Sorry, but why do we want to join the European Union?
00:01:36.940 You know that we actually barely trade with the EU?
00:01:40.260 I mean to the point where our trade with the EU is like half, or I believe maybe a third of what it is, with the UK.
00:01:47.940 Not America.
00:01:48.780 In America, obviously, we trade with 78%. 0.76
00:01:51.820 78% of our exports are to the United States.
00:01:54.900 the EU in terms of like billions of dollars a year is like a few billion dollars or whatever
00:02:01.860 it's very very minor and we're going to do all that while also potentially having to pay the EU
00:02:09.340 equalization so Alberta pays Quebec equalization then all of Canada pays equalization into the
00:02:15.200 European Union fantastic guys and the conservatives are right to be absolutely hammering Mark Carney
00:02:23.140 on this because it's another lie that he told claiming that he we're not going to join the eu
00:02:28.240 hey an anonymous source for my office was released to tell ctv news it's not happening and they
00:02:33.960 forgot to inform the european union they're supposed to lie about it and then so ursula
00:02:39.140 von der leyen just said it out loud oh absolutely we're going to do this associate membership plan
00:02:44.620 now how did that happen because apparently that idea originated from mark carney so did she just
00:02:51.560 coincidentally have the same idea or was it because Mark Carney was pitching this to them
00:02:56.400 then got cold feet when there was a big reaction to him uh negotiating it but the Europeans didn't
00:03:03.340 know that so they announced it anyways well I want to jump over to what conservatives have been
00:03:08.800 saying uh let's start off with the post that Pierre Polyev made this morning then I want to
00:03:13.420 get into his actual words at a press conference Polyev says the prime minister can't seem to get
00:03:19.680 his story straight about the associate membership, unique alliance, or whatever else he's negotiating
00:03:25.140 with the EU. Conservatives are clear. We support the decades-old free trade and NATO defense alliance
00:03:30.900 with Europe. But no EU taxes, no EU laws, and no EU open border immigration policies should be
00:03:38.120 imposed on Canadians. Canada must be independence and sovereign, period. And I think this is the
00:03:44.740 right tack to take on it because the liberals look like complete hypocrites saying no 51st state we're 0.95
00:03:50.480 not going to become the 51st state of the united states no to trump in the 51 which no serious 0.94
00:03:56.560 person was actually proposing that we do but the eu this corrupt trade alliance that has massive
00:04:03.980 immigration problems they have a massive censorship regime and all this other stuff let's join them
00:04:09.980 yeah that's a good idea let's pay them money to be part of a corrupt trade coalition that also
00:04:16.880 passes laws on pretty much everything else even though it was originally just supposed to be a
00:04:20.520 trade coalition but now let's get over to the clip of pure poly of talking about it in penticton
00:04:26.020 where the federal conservative caucus was holding their annual retreat right we need to put canada
00:04:32.100 first in this time more than ever the decisions for our country though must not be made in washington
00:04:39.520 Washington, Beijing, or Brussels, but by Canadians here at home.
00:04:56.080 We obviously believe that we have to trade and talk with China.
00:05:00.160 It's one of the most amazing civilizations ever. 0.62
00:05:02.840 But we do not believe in a strategic partnership for a new world order with Beijing, a regime 0.78
00:05:08.700 that the prime minister called the biggest threat to canada only a year ago we also we will do what's
00:05:15.400 necessary to fight for tariff free trade with our american neighbors to our set to the south
00:05:20.200 our biggest customer and finally we will continue to support cooperation with our european allies
00:05:27.020 of course that is the conservative tradition it was the conservative party that negotiated the
00:05:31.200 free trade agreement with the european union and we had the longest history of supporting the nato
00:05:35.520 alliance, which includes 30 European countries. That's not new. The prime minister, however,
00:05:43.080 needs to get his story straight. He says he wants a possible associate membership or a unique
00:05:51.780 alliance or whatever else he is secretly negotiating with the EU. But conservatives
00:05:57.040 are clear. While we support free trade and continued NATO cooperation with our European
00:06:02.760 allies, Conservatives say no EU taxes, no EU laws, and no EU open border rules on immigration
00:06:12.240 in Canada.
00:06:23.020 These Canadians are not pawns on a global chessboard.
00:06:26.480 They deserve to be masters in their own homes.
00:06:28.940 Canada must be independent and sovereign, period.
00:06:32.760 We are here to restore the promise of an affordable, safe, and independent Canada.
00:06:39.020 I do like there, I let the whole thing play because I thought it was important to, you know, let him speak uninterrupted, even though I want to usually pause in between clips.
00:06:48.680 But I like how he's able to steal Mark Carney's words because Mark Carney kept using the whole, we need to be masters in our own home type rhetoric is that, you know, fundamentally we must be a sovereign, independent country.
00:07:02.060 Except if it's the EU or China who wants to integrate with us and engage in military coordination
00:07:08.160 or to have to follow EU laws around censorship and migration,
00:07:13.120 then that's totally fine because Mark Carney doesn't care about Canada.
00:07:16.960 He just hates the United States.
00:07:19.080 Very different things.
00:07:20.420 That was the problem around the trade talks.
00:07:22.920 Carney's not even trying to negotiate a good deal
00:07:26.060 because he wants the US to lose more than he wants Canada to win.
00:07:30.460 Again, very different things.
00:07:32.860 Wanting the United States to lose the negotiation and wanting Canada to win the negotiation are in different universes because Canada doesn't win unless America wins too.
00:07:43.740 You're not going to negotiate a trade agreement with the United States where they're going to suffer from it.
00:07:49.160 You're going to probably get something that might not be fully satisfying, but overall both of us can live with and maybe we can renegotiate a few years down the line.
00:07:57.500 That is what we can expect.
00:07:59.340 But Carney just hates the US. So he was never trying to get to a good deal because he always wanted license to walk away. And he could only walk away if he made sure to deliberately negotiate a flawed deal.
00:08:13.460 And now with the EU, he's once again lying to us about what his intentions are.
00:08:18.500 This is why conservatives, like I said at the beginning, wanted to see what the actual concrete draft agreement was with the United States that he walked away from.
00:08:29.820 He walked away from a trade deal.
00:08:31.480 He said it was bad.
00:08:32.360 So let's see what the bad parts are, what were the good parts, so then we can work our way to a better deal.
00:08:38.600 Now, you did see, and this was like a week and a half ago, that liberals were going on television and saying, well, the conservatives can't see it because there was actually a confidentiality clause.
00:08:50.660 Who requested the confidentiality clause? Well, it was the Carney liberals, because, of course, they were the party most interested in people not being able to see what was actually negotiated.
00:09:01.440 And so the Americans have only been able to give us kind of vague details on what was going on while the Canadian government gives us no details because of that confidentiality clause.
00:09:11.040 But because the Canadians were the ones, the liberal government, were the side that demanded the confidentiality clause, they should be the ones who are able to break it or request, are the Americans okay with us getting rid of it?
00:09:24.220 We'll show it to our own people.
00:09:25.240 they don't want to do that and they're hiding behind the confidentiality clause because
00:09:29.220 mark carney only seems good at his job if you're not allowed to go see his homework
00:09:33.700 but i want to jump over now to another mp's reaction to all this because i thought roman
00:09:39.780 baber was one of the guys who was early on going after how bad of an idea this was roman
00:09:46.140 baber here says we already have free trade with the european union that's great but canadians
00:09:51.480 don't want another level of government, another regulatory regime, stringent censorship laws,
00:09:57.060 open borders, fees, and levies. Mark Carney did campaign on this. We are Canadians, not Europeans.
00:10:03.860 And I think that that seems about right to me. Now, there are delusional liberals out there
00:10:09.680 who actually think that Canada has more in common with the EU countries than we do with America.
00:10:16.140 Guys, Canada is in North America.
00:10:18.900 We have a lot more in common with the Americans than we do with the Danish, than we do with the Dutch, the Germans, the Italians, the Spanish. 0.99
00:10:29.560 It's just true. 0.85
00:10:31.460 I'm not actually sure if Denmark's part of it, but, you know, forgive me for that one.
00:10:35.060 It's just true that we're not a European country.
00:10:38.500 We're something unique.
00:10:39.840 We are a Western country that is values-based.
00:10:43.580 that was started on the value of individualism you know free markets freedom in general a lot
00:10:52.260 like the united states not implemented the exact same but you know there's far more of a tradition
00:10:57.980 of individualistic freedom here than it is in the place that tries to you know that where the
00:11:04.260 police knock on your door because they didn't like a tweet now we're starting to do a little
00:11:08.560 bit of that we're starting to get a little silly with that let's not keep accelerating it let's
00:11:13.400 get rid of things like bill c9 but carney doesn't actually you know he doesn't he just simply hates
00:11:19.600 the values of america so he's trying to shift us towards the eu but i want to now check on some
00:11:26.000 what some other people have said about this and we're going to start off with president donald
00:11:30.220 trump because of course he was eventually going to sound off on this uh this is posted by rapid
00:11:35.000 response 47 an official american uh kind of like clipping uh channel based on like you know posting
00:11:42.600 anything that Trump and the administration does. They say here, Trump on Canada possibly becoming
00:11:48.680 an associate member of the European Union. I'm not going to read the quote because we'd rather
00:11:52.820 just hear it from Trump instead of reading it. I didn't realize that this is just like completely
00:12:07.960 blown out audio because of the sound of the jet engines. So here's what he said. We're abandoning
00:12:14.120 ship on listening to him. I think it's laughable. Canada has been a terrible trade partner. If I
00:12:19.960 think it's at all a hostile act, I will put serious tariffs to stop trading with Europe
00:12:29.460 on many things. So great job, guys. Great job, Canada. Great job, Europe. We have just started
00:12:37.320 a wider trade conflict for no reason and even if they we can say butt out Trump shouldn't have any
00:12:44.940 opinions about us during the EU well apparently Carney doesn't also care about the opinions of
00:12:49.520 Canadians on the EU because we're just going to join them having not run on this having not put
00:12:55.760 this to a referendum at all and I can say and I have said I think Trump can be very unreasonable
00:13:01.360 at times on trade I think many of his actions when it comes to the trade conflict are counterproductive
00:13:06.660 and they're not helpful i don't like when trump administration officials say that we have the best
00:13:11.060 deal with the united states because it's only as good as relative in terms of how much you actually
00:13:16.420 trade with the united states so our deal with them is actually not that great right now but i think
00:13:21.660 we can improve it but carney is not attempting to improve it that's not saying that trump isn't
00:13:26.880 often an obstacle in doing this heck he started the trade conflict but again we can't sit around
00:13:33.100 and complain that the rules of the board game,
00:13:35.800 that the pieces are set up on the board in a way that we don't like,
00:13:39.000 you have to try and win no matter what hand you're dealt.
00:13:42.760 But Carney basically sits around complaining about the hand he's dealt with the Americans,
00:13:46.920 and then so he buddies up with China and the European Union.
00:13:50.380 It's absolutely laughable.
00:13:52.980 I feel like I need to check in on what Jamil Giovanni had said on this,
00:13:56.620 because I know he's going to be pretty vocal about it.
00:14:00.020 Oh, I like this one.
00:14:01.480 Okay. So we have Jamil Giovanni here responding to Richard Diaz. Richard says, this joining the EU PSYOP, i.e. manufactured consent, being pumped into the minds of Canadians is insane, a thread.
00:14:15.720 Europe is crumbling economically and politically. This is because of the same policy set and people that have caused the worst economic stagnation in Canada in a generation.
00:14:25.360 Naive green energy policy has gutted its industrial base, the insatiable leviathan of public spending, and a regulatory BOA constructor that protects incumbents and crushes entrepreneurial spirit and, yes, massive immigration.
00:14:43.140 Germany, Europe's most important economy, is hemorrhaging jobs for 17 months and counting.
00:14:49.760 Employment has sunk.
00:14:51.340 And as he goes on here, he shows about how in many other areas with energy and industry and whatnot, things are going very, very bad in Europe.
00:14:59.880 And then Jamil Giovanni responds to this, says,
00:15:02.580 I want Canada to be a wealthy country where citizens see the fruits of their labor and parents can give their kids a high quality of life.
00:15:14.420 Carney's EU agenda will only move us further away from that vision.
00:15:18.360 The EU is an economic disaster with even worse immigration policies.
00:15:23.560 Absolutely.
00:15:25.260 And I think if the Conservatives make this their agenda.
00:15:28.460 of the liberals basically are just anti-51st state again as if any serious person was actually
00:15:34.840 proposing that conservatives are against canada becoming the 51st state the 28th eu province and
00:15:41.440 i believe it'd be the 14th chinese province we're not doing any of that that's foolish i think it's
00:15:48.260 like the whatever i forgot how many provinces china actually has that should be the message
00:15:53.040 of the Conservative Party. Carney is fibbing when he when he says he cares about Canadian
00:15:58.320 sovereignty. He just hates the United States. The Conservatives actually do care about free trade.
00:16:05.120 They do care about Canadian sovereignty. And that's why they're opposing all three of these
00:16:11.440 measures. No 51st state, no Chinese province, no EU membership, because all of this undermines
00:16:18.600 Canada's ability to actually stay independent and for Canadians to make their own choices for
00:16:23.780 themselves. There's a reason why the UK left the EU as much as people end up saying that it was a
00:16:29.860 bad idea and it caused so much chaos. It caused chaos because the EU was so vindictive. They
00:16:34.420 basically tried to inflict as much pain on the EU as they were leaving as possible, being unreasonable
00:16:40.300 in signing new trade agreements, basically being really obstinate when it came to the migration
00:16:46.220 policies and the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, the EU was
00:16:51.660 responsible for that. They were effectively trying to punish a former member for having the audacity
00:16:57.640 to leave. And Canada, becoming an associate member with no voting rights, might end up with the same
00:17:04.080 vindictive EU attacking us if we ever try and disentangle ourselves from their corrupt system.
00:17:10.320 Anyways, with all that being said, thank you guys for watching this video. Make sure to like,
