00:00:00.000 All right, listen, guys, I get it.
00:00:01.900 Many of you are unable to financially support this ministry because you're spending your
00:00:05.900 cash and your lives on raising young children in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
00:00:10.740 Praise God for you and that endeavor.
00:00:13.860 However, algorithms are a thing.
00:00:16.380 Shadow banning, sadly, is a thing.
00:00:19.000 And one major way that you can help to expand the reach and effectiveness of this ministry
00:00:24.160 that doesn't cost you a dime is by spending just a few moments leaving us a five-star review. Also,
00:00:31.900 perhaps even more effective than that, you can share our podcast with a friend. We hope you'll
00:00:37.100 take the time to do so. Thank you so much. God bless. Jesus said, man cannot live on bread alone,
00:00:45.000 but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. You're listening to Daily Truth.
00:00:49.940 it is therefore not a coincidence that before passing over the jordan river which again is a
00:01:00.060 type of death israel representing a type of the church the church israel is being called to not
00:01:08.980 go around or to build a bridge and go over but they are rather called by god to go through the
00:01:16.260 river. I've often used John Bunyan. He uses the river in Pilgrim's Progress to signify the final
00:01:24.520 trek for the Christian, for the pilgrim. And the river is death. Likewise, the Jordan River, that's
00:01:30.980 where John Bunyan got this idea. And I believe it is a good allegorical symbolic idea. The Jordan
00:01:37.580 River symbolizes death and the people of God, the church, namely Israel, they don't get to skip it.
00:01:45.160 You don't get to skip the Jordan.
00:01:47.460 You don't get to skip the river.
00:01:49.480 You don't get to go over it.
00:01:50.920 You don't get to go around it.
00:01:52.480 You have to go through it.
00:01:55.940 Now, if the Jordan River in Israel
00:01:57.880 is not a good enough illustration for you,
00:02:00.780 if John Bunyan in Pilgrim's Progress
00:02:02.980 is not a good enough illustration for you,
00:02:05.640 allow me to offer the full trifecta,
00:02:08.020 a third illustration, homeward bound.
00:02:11.700 Right?
00:02:12.260 Shadow and chance.
00:02:13.400 they're begging sassy begging her just right here the river it's slow it's shallow you just go
00:02:19.480 through it you go through it and sassy is arrogant and proud as all cats are dogs are objectively
00:02:28.060 better and the homeward bound movie makes this point thoroughly sassy has to go her own way
00:02:35.180 and it gets her into trouble she thinks instead of going through the river she can go
00:02:39.680 over the river and it does not work out now i'm hesitant to spoil the movie but at the same time
00:02:46.340 i don't have a lot of compassion for people who have not watched the movie that's been out for
00:02:51.280 probably 30 years at this point so what happens is she's crossing the river on a natural bridge
00:02:59.000 from a fallen tree it breaks and collapses she falls into the river and almost drowns likewise
00:03:06.880 Israel cannot go over the river but must go through likewise as it pertains to you and I
00:03:14.080 we are the new Israel the spiritual Israel we are Israel in the truest sense we are the church
00:03:23.360 the people of God and likewise we are not going over the river of death or around the river of
00:03:30.540 death, but we must go through the river of death. And two things that jump out of these two verses
00:03:38.680 of our text, namely verses four and five, in regards to the Christian's requirement to go
00:03:44.760 through the river of death is this. Number one, for you have not passed this way before. That's
00:03:52.180 the end of verse 4. This is a portion of life, the final portion of life, namely death, that none of
00:04:00.660 us have dealt with before. It is appointed to man that he should die once, and then comes the
00:04:07.960 judgment. In other words, brothers and sisters, you do not get to practice death. You do not get
00:04:14.860 a rehearsal for death. Sure, you may suffer in this life and be on your death bed, in a sense,
00:04:23.600 and then recover. But none of us get to truly go all the way to the end and die as a rehearsal
00:04:31.080 to die again. You could argue that maybe a few individuals like Lazarus, but even then it's not
00:04:39.460 a benefit. Yay, Lazarus gets to die twice. There's no need for us to have jealousy in that regard.
00:04:49.460 So this is an untrodden path. It's a trackless path. Israel is going away that no one has gone
00:04:57.840 before. There's not a trail that has been etched into the ground to make the path level or easy
00:05:06.300 or to remove obstacles and stones and roots and weeds.
00:05:10.960 This is not a path that has been traversed many times.
00:05:15.280 This is a path that they will cross but once.
00:05:18.760 It is a path that they do not know.
00:05:21.280 It is a path where they have not been.
00:05:23.820 There is no rehearsal.
00:05:25.600 There is no training.
00:05:27.400 Not really.
00:05:28.660 There is no practice.
00:05:30.040 But there is Christ.
00:05:32.640 The ark of the covenant of the Lord goes before them.
00:05:36.300 And Jesus, who has tasted death once and for all, for all his people,
00:05:43.320 not only does he pass through the river of death with us when that time comes,
00:05:48.720 but he stands in the middle of the river in the covenant of his promise,
00:05:54.120 in the covenant of grace, and he causes the waters of God's judgment
00:05:58.620 not to swallow us up, but rather to provide a path we've never traversed before,
00:06:04.700 but a path nonetheless where we can pass through as Jesus in his righteousness, in his covenant
00:06:11.640 faithfulness, holds back the wrath and judgment of God so that we can pass through death without
00:06:17.600 being swallowed up. Rather, the waters of death are swallowed up in his victory.
00:06:24.360 And that is what we can trust in when that time comes. Whoa, whoa, whoa. You're going to want to
00:06:29.860 hear this, our next two conferences are coming up quick. We've got first our fall conference. This
00:06:35.540 is November 11th and 12th. That's a full day Saturday and a holdover for the Lord's Day,
00:06:41.960 November 12th. Who's speaking at this conference? Well, we've got Jared Longshore and Chris Wiley
00:06:48.460 and yours truly, Pastor Joel Webb. And what's the title? The title is the household and the war for
00:06:54.780 the cosmos. Now I know you're thinking, wait a second, you can't use that title, Joel. That's
00:06:59.280 the title for Chris Wiley's book. Well, I can use it because he's going to be there speaking
00:07:03.720 and he gave me his permission. We're going to be talking about the household as the basic
00:07:08.620 building block for pushing back the kingdom of darkness in this world. We're going to be talking
00:07:14.100 about biblical patriarchy. We're going to be talking about marriage and parenting, how to
00:07:18.600 keep your kids, how to shape and form them like straight arrows, like sharp arrows that do damage
00:07:25.500 to the kingdom of darkness,
00:07:27.420 training our children in the fear and ammunition of the Lord.
00:07:30.540 A full day on Saturday, November 11th,
00:07:33.100 and then holding Jared Longshore over for the Lord's Day,
00:07:36.400 November 12th, to preach at my church,
00:07:38.920 Covenant Bible Church in Central Texas.
00:07:42.080 You can register at the early bird rate,
00:07:44.440 which will not last long,
00:07:45.880 but you can register at the early bird rate today

00:08:01.360 March 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
00:08:03.860 The title for this conference,
00:08:05.800 Blueprints for Chrysidom 2.0.
00:08:08.980 Blueprints for Chrysidom 2.0.
00:08:11.680 We don't wanna revert back to Chrysidom 1.0,
00:08:14.620 although it would certainly be a whole lot better
00:08:17.460 than the clown world that we're currently living in,
00:08:20.340 but we recognize despite the phenomenal features
00:08:23.580 of a prior Chrysidom,
00:08:25.260 there were certain bugs that we'd like to see worked out.
00:08:28.720 So we're not going back.
00:08:30.040 We are pushing forward to Christendom 2.0.
00:08:33.400 We believe that the blueprints are seven doctrines
00:08:36.960 for ruling the world righteously.
00:08:39.700 What are these seven doctrines?
00:08:41.440 Well, it's reformed confessionalism.
00:08:43.960 It's covenant theology.
00:08:45.620 It's biblical patriarchy.
00:08:47.380 It's presuppositionalism and Kuyperianism
00:08:50.740 and general equity theonomy and hopeful eschatology
00:08:55.140 post-millennialism who's going to be teaching us on these doctrines voldemort he who must not be

00:09:32.380 Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
00:09:34.700 It's Blueprints for Chrysidom 2.0.

00:10:13.180 economy our nation and our totalitarian political elites lost their minds over the last three years
00:10:22.200 due to COVID. We have written checks that we simply cannot cash. It doesn't matter if people
00:10:29.140 change the definition of a recession. We are living in a recession right now regardless.
00:10:36.040 Some of you are struggling to afford a carton of eggs at the grocery store. You cannot support
00:10:42.340 financially this ministry at this time, nor should you, but you could still help us tremendously.
