00:00:00.000 All right, listen, guys, I get it.
00:00:01.940 Many of you are unable to financially support this ministry
00:00:04.620 because you're spending your cash and your lives
00:00:06.920 on raising young children
00:00:08.540 in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
00:00:10.560 Praise God for you and that endeavor.
00:00:13.700 However, algorithms are a thing.
00:00:16.220 Shadow banning, sadly, is a thing.
00:00:18.840 And one major way that you can help to expand
00:00:21.600 the reach and effectiveness of this ministry
00:00:24.000 that doesn't cost you a dime
00:00:25.720 is by spending just a few moments
00:00:28.060 leaving us a five-star review. Also, perhaps even more effective than that, you can share
00:00:34.620 our podcast with a friend. We hope you'll take the time to do so. Thank you so much. God bless.
00:00:41.720 Jesus said, man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the
00:00:46.400 mouth of God. You're listening to Daily Truth.
00:00:52.600 First and foremost, what we'll see in the sermon today is that there are many who claim to be
00:00:57.160 victims in our culture who are not. They are victims of once having a bad day. And even the
00:01:03.840 bad day that they experienced is relative. Whether or not it's actually a bad day, everybody in our
00:01:13.040 culture seems to claim victim status. Everybody in our culture seems to find some way to spin
00:01:18.580 some narrative to claim that they've been mistreated, to claim that they've been oppressed.
00:01:26.660 We do this in our culture today because we want power.
00:01:30.440 We want power.
00:01:31.600 And in our culture, we have devised schemes of somehow proving to the culture at large, to society, that we've been mistreated, that we've been oppressed.
00:01:43.440 And if we can prove that, if we can spin that narrative and get others to accept it as true, then we are granted a certain measure of influence, a certain measure of power.
00:01:54.960 this is what intersectionality is all about it's it's seeing how many minority statuses we can
00:02:03.920 claim right that if you're a white male and you're heterosexual you're in trouble
00:02:09.920 right but if if you're black well you have some status if you're a black man that's one thing but 0.98
00:02:18.760 But if you're a black woman, then you have more status, more influence, more power. 1.00
00:02:24.760 If you're a black woman in a wheelchair, it's a force to be reckoned with. 0.99
00:02:29.860 If you're a black man in a wheelchair who cross-dresses and calls himself a woman, a.k.a. transgender, you have all the power in the world. 1.00
00:02:40.640 You might as well be a czar, a sultan, a king. 0.97
00:02:46.780 You can be on late night talk shows, and everybody has to listen to what you say.
00:02:50.440 Even if you speak about things that you have no knowledge about, it doesn't matter.
00:02:53.760 Research, hard work, diligent study, not necessary.
00:02:58.740 You have a unique oppressed position and opinion, and who is anybody else to disagree?
00:03:06.060 That's the culture that we live in today.
00:03:07.680 So, first and foremost, probably just about anyone in this room is not a victim.
00:03:17.020 So, the first thing that we should do as Christians, as followers of Jesus, when we feel as though we're victimized, is we should remind ourselves that we're probably not.
00:03:25.900 That's the first step.
00:03:26.820 The second step is as we consider our alleged oppression, as we consider our alleged mistreatment, we should consider it by the eternal and perfect standard of God's word.
00:03:40.980 we should consider it not based off of these fleeting flawed standards of our culture today
00:03:49.260 not by our own personal self-absorbed standard but rather by the unchanging perfect righteous
00:03:55.720 standard of god's word by god's word by god's standard have i truly been mistreated and if so
00:04:03.280 the first thing that we should consider is can i let it go the proverb said that it's a man's glory
00:04:10.720 to overlook an offense.
00:04:12.840 So the first thing that we should consider is,
00:04:14.640 can I let it go?
00:04:16.640 1 Corinthians chapter 6, the Apostle Paul,
00:04:18.880 he says, why not rather be wronged?
00:04:21.420 Can I let it go?
00:04:23.900 So one, am I actually oppressed?
00:04:26.260 Probably not, I'll save you the time,
00:04:28.100 but feel free to do the biblical homework
00:04:30.200 to see if you are.
00:04:31.000 And if you are, the next thing,
00:04:33.300 the second step is, can I let it go?
00:04:36.160 The third step is,
00:04:38.200 if you truly are oppressed,
00:04:39.740 and is something that you believe in seeking counsel from your elders and deacons
00:04:44.260 and other mature believers in Christ,
00:04:45.760 something that you believe you should not let go,
00:04:49.680 then the next question is,
00:04:51.140 how do I pursue justice in this circumstance
00:04:54.960 while maintaining a humble, self-sacrificing, honoring attitude?
00:05:04.540 Now, as a very important pastoral disclaimer,
00:05:08.460 please do not miss this.
00:05:09.740 there is real suffering in this world and there are times when that suffering should not be passed
00:05:16.320 over where an offense is something that you should not let go and there are certain practical steps
00:05:22.780 that are righteous and biblically sound that you should pursue so listen to me as i read this from
00:05:30.140 your notes if you're being sexually or physically abused you must immediately seek outside help
00:05:36.120 while it is still necessary for you to apply the principles found in our text today regarding your
00:05:41.920 attitude the elders and deacons of our church do not want you to mistakenly think that god requires
00:05:48.940 you to endure such abuse passively a sexual offender or a physically violent abuser should
00:05:56.920 be brought under both church discipline for their sins and the consequences of the law for their
00:06:03.560 crimes. Do not miss that. The elders and deacons of this church, as I speak about what it is to
00:06:12.300 suffer well, because I believe that's one of the main points that we see in our text, what it is
00:06:18.120 to have a Christian posture, a Christian attitude, what it is to suffer humbly, to suffer well when
00:06:24.620 you are genuinely being mistreated, when your circumstances truly are unjust. As I preach this
00:06:31.220 sermon, do not miss that disclaimer. You can suffer well with your Christian posture, with 1.00
00:06:37.040 the posture of your heart, with your attitude, while also calling the police. These are not 0.61
00:06:44.140 pitted against one another. It's not either or, it's both and. And specifically, when
00:06:51.120 we think of oppression, if the alleged oppression that you are experiencing falls anywhere near
00:06:59.140 the category of sexual or physical abuse, then you need to call the elders of this church
00:07:06.460 and the police. Thanks so much for listening. But real quick, before you go, do us a small favor,
00:07:12.720 take a moment, and leave us a five-star review if you enjoyed the show. This is undoubtedly
00:07:18.060 the best way that you can help us get this biblically faithful content
00:07:22.200 to as many people as possible. Thanks so much.
