If there was any group in the New Testament that could be trusted not to falsely assure anyone that they were saved, it would have to be the Church at Corinth. The Corinthian Church was a mess. They were in need of many warnings, many warnings and many consoling and comforting. So the conclusion is that whatever church that might be comforting or consoling the congregation is better than the Corinthian church.
