00:00:00.000 All right, listen, guys, I get it.
00:00:01.900 Many of you are unable to financially support this ministry because you're spending your
00:00:05.900 cash and your lives on raising young children in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
00:00:10.740 Praise God for you and that endeavor.
00:00:13.860 However, algorithms are a thing.
00:00:16.380 Shadow banning, sadly, is a thing.
00:00:19.000 And one major way that you can help to expand the reach and effectiveness of this ministry
00:00:24.160 that doesn't cost you a dime is by spending just a few moments leaving us a five-star
00:00:29.980 review. Also, perhaps even more effective than that, you can share our podcast with a friend.
00:00:36.560 We hope you'll take the time to do so. Thank you so much. God bless.
00:00:42.360 Jesus said, man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of
00:00:47.440 God. You're listening to Daily Truth. The Apostle Paul achieved a level of sanctification in this
00:00:56.440 life that was matched by few, if any. I would argue that no one before or after, other than
00:01:05.200 Jesus Christ, the God-man himself, that no one before or after has been more sanctified in their
00:01:13.920 earthly life than the Apostle Paul. Therefore, it's safe to assume that virtually no one cared
00:01:22.640 is deeply about personal holiness progressive righteousness sanctification as paul did it is
00:01:31.760 also true that the corinthian church possessed a level of spiritual immaturity among the new
00:01:39.060 testament churches that was matched by few if any therefore it's finally safe to assume that if there
00:01:48.220 was any particular church that the apostle Paul would be tempted to withhold assurance from it
00:01:55.340 would have been the church at Corinth all right I've got premise one premise two and then the
00:02:02.520 conclusion premise one Paul was really holy premise two Corinth was a mess conclusion if
00:02:11.040 Paul was going to be hesitant about offering assurance of salvation to any New Testament
00:02:16.340 church. It would have been the church at Corinth. You cannot say, well, Paul throws out assurance
00:02:23.280 to people loosely because he has low standards of holiness. No. There are plenty of false teachers
00:02:33.200 that are constantly handing out false assurance. And we can say rightly of them that they grant
00:02:40.580 false assurance because they care nothing for the sheep. And they have plenty of goats in their
00:02:48.520 congregation that they also hate and detest. They don't care about falsely assuring people, knowing
00:02:55.100 that false assurance is one of the leading, the leading motivations, the leading effects that
00:03:02.640 would cause someone to go to hell. Right? What does Jesus say in Matthew chapter 7? Many will
00:03:08.840 say to me, Lord, Lord, we did this in your name and that in your name. Meaning there are a lot
00:03:15.200 of people who will be shocked when they wake up in hell. It's not just that there will be a lot
00:03:23.300 of people in hell saying, yeah, this makes sense. Yeah, I figured. No, many will say, what's going
00:03:34.160 on? I was a Christian. And so false assurance is a damning, literally damning offense. The false
00:03:45.080 teacher who grants false assurance to unbelievers, but speaks to them and assures them that they are 0.65
00:03:51.900 believers, a false teacher, a false prophet, that person is damning people to hell. The Old Testament 0.84
00:03:59.320 speaks of false prophets in this way condemning them saying they've healed the wounds of my people
00:04:05.760 lightly saying peace peace when there is no peace they've taken gaping wounds and they've
00:04:16.060 healed them lightly oh it's okay you'll be fine nothing to see here nothing to be concerned about
00:04:24.820 so so handing out false assurance is a big deal but the point is that if there's anyone we can
00:04:34.340 trust other than jesus christ himself not to hand out false assurance it would have been the apostle
00:04:40.960 paul and if there was any group that that you would be in danger of falsely assuring
00:04:49.080 that maybe could stand a few more corrections and warnings
00:04:53.440 and less comfort and consolation,
00:04:56.880 it would have been the Corinthian church.
00:05:00.280 So premise one, Paul doesn't hand out false assurance.
00:05:03.840 He cares about holiness.
00:05:05.040 He doesn't have compromised standards.
00:05:09.020 Premise two, the Corinthian church was a mess,
00:05:12.480 radically immature.
00:05:14.380 They were in need of many warnings,
00:05:16.760 many warnings and if there was any church that paul would have been most careful with
00:05:22.560 it would have been them so the conclusion is whatever paul says to the corinthian church
00:05:29.500 that might be comforting or consoling i'm going pastorally to hold that as an ordinary standard
00:05:37.900 for comforting and encouraging and assuring my congregation essentially what i'm saying is
00:05:45.660 by the grace of God, I think you're better covenant Bible church than the Corinthian church.
00:05:51.480 And I know for a fact that I am less holy than the apostle Paul. So whatever standard minimum
00:05:58.620 bottom line of assurance that Paul's giving to Corinth, I'm going to give at least that much
00:06:04.460 assurance to you. Can I be frank with you for just a second right here at the end? Look, some of you
00:06:10.400 guys, you're financially supporting this ministry. And from the bottom of my heart, I say thank you.
00:06:16.120 I cannot thank you enough. However, some of you, you just, you can't afford it. In fact, some of
00:06:23.460 you, you shouldn't afford it. Let's be honest. I mean, we're living in Joe Biden's ridiculous
00:06:29.400 economy. Our nation and our totalitarian political elites lost their minds over the last three years 0.98
00:06:38.440 due to COVID. We have written checks that we simply cannot cash. It doesn't matter if people
00:06:45.360 change the definition of a recession. We are living in a recession right now regardless.
00:06:52.280 Some of you are struggling to afford a carton of eggs at the grocery store. You cannot support
00:06:58.580 financially this ministry at this time, nor should you, but you could still help us tremendously.
00:07:05.240 I am asking you, please, if you're willing to do so, take one minute of your time.
00:07:11.820 Leave us a five-star review on your favorite podcast platform, iTunes, Spotify, whatever
00:07:17.960 that might be.
00:07:19.220 This is the way the system works.
00:07:21.300 We want to be innocent as doves, but shrewd as vipers.
00:07:25.480 We need to be strategic.
00:07:27.340 You leave us a five-star review, and our podcast shows up for more people.
00:07:31.860 and the Word of God and courageous theology applied in practical ways to every realm of life
00:07:39.480 gets out there. Help us get it out there. Thanks for tuning in.
