00:01:52.220 It is overwhelming to sift through every little thing to define and determine, to discern what I should say yes to and what I should say no to.

00:02:07.620 There is a freedom, as G.K. Chesterton once said, that comes within the bounds.

00:02:27.300 like being confined and and bound and enslaved to this pond i want to be an autonomous fish

00:02:38.780 And so one day it swims as fast as it can towards the bank

00:03:19.420 top, right? You've probably heard the illustration. I know that it's a bit of a cliche, but it's true

00:03:24.500 and it's helpful. The illustration that if you're going to fill a bucket and you've got, you've got

00:03:29.880 rocks pebbles sand and water well what do you start with first you you start with the rocks

00:03:38.840 if you fill the bucket with water first there's no room for anything else you do the rocks then

00:03:44.940 you pour the pebbles and they're going to sprinkle down in between all the crevices and the cracks

00:03:54.720 rocks and the pebbles. And lastly, you pour the water. You start with the big things. The higher

00:03:59.540 yes defines the lower no's. And God has made this plain in his word. We know what are our priorities

00:04:08.480 of loves. St. Augustine talked about this, this same concept, saying that what we need is a

00:04:15.000 prioritization of proper affections. We start with love for God, seeking his kingdom first,

00:05:00.340 and is worse than an unbeliever so we prioritize first our families loving the lord then our wives

00:05:08.140 our children our parents extended family beyond that we move to the church and if there's anything

00:05:15.040 left, if we have opportunity, as Galatians 6, 9 through 10 says, then we can do good to others

00:05:22.680 also. Do good to all, so long as you have opportunity. But especially, that is, prioritize

00:05:30.160 the household of faith. Can I be frank with you for just a second, right here at the end?
