00:00:00.000 All right, listen, guys, I get it.
00:00:01.940 Many of you are unable to financially support this ministry
00:00:04.620 because you're spending your cash and your lives
00:00:06.920 on raising young children
00:00:08.520 in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
00:00:10.560 Praise God for you and that endeavor.
00:00:13.680 However, algorithms are a thing.
00:00:16.200 Shadow banning, sadly, is a thing.
00:00:18.760 And one major way that you can help to expand
00:00:21.600 the reach and effectiveness of this ministry
00:00:24.000 that doesn't cost you a dime
00:00:25.720 is by spending just a few moments
00:00:28.060 leaving us a five-star review. Also, perhaps even more effective than that, you can share our
00:00:34.840 podcast with a friend. We hope you'll take the time to do so. Thank you so much. God bless.
00:00:41.660 Jesus said, man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of
00:00:46.720 God. You're listening to Daily Truth. Some of you have a hard time saying no,
00:00:53.840 right one of the ways you know like death by a thousand cuts right that phrase you know or
00:01:01.520 uh you know just slowly little by little by little worn down one of the things that we
00:01:07.400 experience often in the 21st century is is death by limitless virtually limitless opportunity
00:01:13.840 all the time and i know that i'm not unique i have i'm sharing this because it's common to man
00:01:22.920 I know that this is the situation that you probably find yourself often in as well.
00:01:28.380 But all the time, I'll get requests.
00:01:32.040 Sometimes they come in that humble tone of a request.
00:01:34.660 Sometimes I get demands.
00:01:36.800 But either way, whether it be a request or a demand,
00:01:39.320 there's a million different things that a million different people
00:01:42.780 think that I should be doing with my life in any given moment.
00:01:48.140 And one of the ways that I'm able, it's almost overwhelming.
00:01:52.220 It is overwhelming to sift through every little thing to define and determine, to discern what I should say yes to and what I should say no to.
00:02:02.300 There is an immense peace and freedom.
00:02:06.440 This is the irony.
00:02:07.620 There is a freedom, as G.K. Chesterton once said, that comes within the bounds.
00:02:12.300 right that the fences actually provide a freedom from slavery to limitless choices
00:02:21.280 and opportunity or you've heard me use this illustration before the fish might say i don't
00:02:27.300 like being confined and and bound and enslaved to this pond i want to be an autonomous fish
00:02:36.660 I want to have liberty.
00:02:38.780 And so one day it swims as fast as it can towards the bank
00:02:42.180 and jumps out of the water at the last minute
00:02:44.800 and frees itself from the pond to die on the shore.
00:02:50.440 The pond was not its prison.
00:02:53.640 The pond was its proper context designed for the fish to thrive in
00:02:58.480 by God who determines our nature and our context,
00:03:03.000 our purpose, our lives, everything.
00:03:06.180 everything. And one of the ways that you can kind of trim down the fat, as it were, when it comes to
00:03:12.500 daily practical life, knowing what should I say no to, what should I say yes to, is by starting at the
00:03:19.420 top, right? You've probably heard the illustration. I know that it's a bit of a cliche, but it's true
00:03:24.500 and it's helpful. The illustration that if you're going to fill a bucket and you've got, you've got
00:03:29.880 rocks pebbles sand and water well what do you start with first you you start with the rocks
00:03:38.840 if you fill the bucket with water first there's no room for anything else you do the rocks then
00:03:44.940 you pour the pebbles and they're going to sprinkle down in between all the crevices and the cracks
00:03:49.260 between the larger rocks then you slowly pour the sand which will fill all the spaces between the
00:03:54.720 rocks and the pebbles. And lastly, you pour the water. You start with the big things. The higher
00:03:59.540 yes defines the lower no's. And God has made this plain in his word. We know what are our priorities
00:04:08.480 of loves. St. Augustine talked about this, this same concept, saying that what we need is a
00:04:15.000 prioritization of proper affections. We start with love for God, seeking his kingdom first,
00:04:22.540 and all these things will be added unto you.
00:04:24.920 Loving the Lord your God with all your heart,
00:04:27.200 with all your soul, with all your mind
00:04:28.740 and all your strength.
00:04:30.340 Then next we go to neighbor.
00:04:32.600 Okay, but which neighbor?
00:04:33.820 Because currently we have about 8 billion of them. 1.00
00:04:37.660 Well, we begin with our wives
00:04:39.200 and our children and our parents.
00:04:43.840 We see in the scripture
00:04:45.940 that if a man does not care for his family
00:04:49.820 and even his extended family,
00:04:52.540 his household immediate family and even extended family then he has denied the faith the bible says 0.99
00:05:00.340 and is worse than an unbeliever so we prioritize first our families loving the lord then our wives 1.00
00:05:08.140 our children our parents extended family beyond that we move to the church and if there's anything 1.00
00:05:15.040 left, if we have opportunity, as Galatians 6, 9 through 10 says, then we can do good to others
00:05:22.680 also. Do good to all, so long as you have opportunity. But especially, that is, prioritize
00:05:30.160 the household of faith. Can I be frank with you for just a second, right here at the end?
00:05:35.760 Look, some of you guys, you're financially supporting this ministry, and from the bottom
00:05:39.940 of my heart, I say thank you. I cannot thank you enough. However, some of you, you just,
00:05:46.720 you can't afford it. In fact, some of you, you shouldn't afford it. Let's be honest. I mean,
00:05:53.100 we're living in Joe Biden's ridiculous economy. Our nation and our totalitarian political elites 0.98
00:06:01.200 lost their minds over the last three years due to COVID. We have written checks that we simply
00:06:08.700 cannot cash. It doesn't matter if people change the definition of a recession. We are living in
00:06:15.280 a recession right now regardless. Some of you are struggling to afford a carton of eggs at the
00:06:22.160 grocery store. You cannot support financially this ministry at this time nor should you but you could
00:06:29.700 still help us tremendously. I am asking you please if you're willing to do so take one minute of your
00:06:37.140 time. Leave us a five-star review on your favorite podcast platform, iTunes, Spotify, whatever that
00:06:44.340 might be. This is the way the system works. We want to be innocent as doves, but shrewd as vipers.
00:06:51.200 We need to be strategic. You leave us a five-star review and our podcast shows up for more people.
00:06:58.440 And the Word of God and courageous theology applied in practical ways to every realm of life
00:07:05.560 gets out there. Help us get it out there. Thanks for tuning in.
