00:01:48.920 be an ambush but I do want to get under the skin of some of your more problematic behaviour and look

00:01:55.300 the thing that's been worrying me Santa, I think the core issue why so many people take issue with you

00:02:00.860 is because you know if you're told you must believe something or lose belonging you know that's

00:02:08.280 probably not knowledge, that's not decent and moral, that's obedience and I put it to you that

00:02:14.260 believing in Santa is probably your first real training in socially required belief. You know it's

00:02:21.560 you don't believe it because you're true when you're a child, you believe it because the adults

00:02:26.920 demand that you do and basically any sort of belief that is enforced by threat of exclusion, that's not

00:02:34.040 truth, that's about conformity. So what you're saying is Dan that in a free society truth doesn't

00:02:40.280 need enforcement, only dogma does. You know if belief comes wrapped in let's say a bit of career

00:02:47.660 blackmail or social punishment it's basically Santa for grown-ups. Well yes that I mean I suppose that

00:02:55.660 is what I'm saying. I'm saying that you know children get presents for pretending that Santa is real

00:03:00.920 and you know how can we explain this? Well okay ho ho ho. Adults get social acceptance for pretending that

00:03:08.480 elite narratives are real. You know the reward changes but the the mechanism doesn't and I put

00:05:33.540 and that human capital is their greatest asset. But explain this to me Sonny. Why is productivity in

00:05:40.800 the West been flatlining for two contradictions? And how do you explain the contradiction that

00:05:46.100 you know how can a society with more graduates more bureaucracy and more regulation how can it produce

00:05:53.460 less if the lies that you're being told by your elite figures are true? You know why is it the most

00:06:00.060 credentialed economies are the ones generating the least tangible value? And how does a knowledge

00:06:06.180 economy produce declining competence and rising costs? You know the truth is that your elites they can't

00:06:14.200 say the obvious that growing layers of regulation credentialism compliance and HR overhead have

00:06:21.600 throttled productive work. You know I navigate the world by starlight. You lot have google maps and you

00:06:29.580 still get morally lost all the time. I know whether you've been naughty or nice but even I don't track

00:06:36.400 behavior as aggressively your bloody smartphones do. And my elves can make miracles I tell you that lad

00:06:42.360 but we can't fix your NHS data system. We can't fix your border control data system. That's beyond us I'm afraid.

00:06:49.560 Yes yes fair point Sansa. I have to concede to you on that one. What about immigration? That's something

00:06:58.800 we look at on Lotus Eaters quite a lot. Do you have anything to say on that? Oh do I have something

00:07:03.680 to say on that? Yes I absolutely do. Look your elites they claim that diversity automatically

00:07:10.020 strengthened societies and they claim that you know integration is natural and that cultures are

00:07:15.400 interchangeable. But by every metric crime welfare dependency and parallel communities say the

00:07:24.060 opposite. You know if all cultures are equal you know why do some create functioning societies and some

00:07:30.600 do not? If integration is automatic why is it weakest where migration is highest? And if groups all behave

00:07:41.320 the same why does crime education and statistics diverge on it so thoroughly predictably? Truth is they can't

00:07:53.960 acknowledge the cultural biological differences without breaking their worldview. Well yes Sansa again

00:08:01.640 good points I can't really argue with any of that. So is this why you feel that social trust is

00:08:08.200 disintegrating? Well absolutely that is what's happening. Look they believe that diversity increases empathy

00:08:17.960 and that social engineering produces cohesion and that shared narratives are unnecessary for a well-functioning

00:08:28.440 cultural community. Yet societal trust destroys fastest in exactly where diversity and ideology are

00:08:39.560 strongest. It produces a set of contradictions you can't explain. So look if multiculturalism strengthens

00:08:46.680 trust why do diverse societies become more atomized? And if identity doesn't matter why is everybody getting

00:08:54.680 predictably more tribal? You have the emergence of something like seven to ten openly Islamic MPs in the UK at

00:09:02.840 this point? The white British are becoming more resolutely tribal with their retreat to reform in the Lib Dems,

00:09:09.640 the most identifiably English of the parties. You know if identity doesn't matter that wouldn't be happening

00:09:16.440 would it? And look if your institutions are so benevolent why is it that nobody trusts them?

00:10:18.120 contradictions that your system simply cannot explain. You know if liberalism is the cure why is it the

00:10:25.160 most liberated generations are the most miserable? And if technology connects us all why is loneliness

00:10:34.120 epidemic? And if removing boundaries makes people happier why do young people feel so

00:10:41.480 directionalist? I'm telling you boyo that the elites of your world they've created a world view that removes

00:10:48.600 meaning, belonging, hierarchy, purpose and ritual and they can't admit that all of those things were

00:10:57.000 essential and always were. Gosh Santa yeah you've given me a few um a few points to ponder on that but

00:11:52.120 competent why can't it build anything on budget on time and if regulation protects quality why does

00:20:42.680 your energy base and you're expecting productivity to rise you'll replace working families with welfare

00:20:51.000 dependent immigrant spending and you're calling it growth and you think that i'm the one operating on

00:21:00.120 fairy tale logic really my toy production has been in surplus for the last 17 centuries and your

00:21:09.400 governments they can't manage a budget past february you know the elves run a zero tax system with full

00:21:17.320 employment try that in britain and your bond markets revolt and the imf would be all over you
