Summary

Summaries generated with gmurro/bart-large-finetuned-filtered-spotify-podcast-summ .

I have spent my entire academic career studying human behavior and human decision making, and yet I am astounded by this level of suicidal stupidity. It takes a lot to surprise me because I ve literally written the book on parasitic thinking, and of course my forthcoming book on suicidal empathy. But to just see every day the kinds of reactions that I see from Canadians.

00:00:00.200 Hi everybody, this is Gatsad. I wanted to read for you a post that I put up yesterday on my social media, which Elon Musk was kind enough to repost, which of course then gets a lot of additional attention.
00:00:22.280 So thank you, Elon, for that. Let me read you the post.
00:00:24.740 My daughter's class is going on a school trip to New York City. Many of the parents are incredibly upset that the school would visit the United States where there is a, quote, daily genocide of women, trans people, and people of color, close quotes.
00:00:41.680 The parents are not upset of what is happening in Canada or that Zoran Mamdani is going to become mayor of New York City.
00:00:49.340 They are terrified for their children's safety because of Donald Trump. 1.00
00:00:54.820 I have spent my entire academic career studying human behavior and human decision making, and yet I'm astounded by this level of suicidal stupidity. 1.00
00:01:04.520 It takes a lot to surprise me. I'm just going to close here the thing. 0.99
00:01:09.560 It takes a lot to surprise me because I've literally written the book on, right here, on parasitic thinking, and of course my forthcoming book on suicidal empathy.
00:01:20.260 But to just see every day the kinds of reactions that I see from Canadians.
00:01:27.020 By the way, some of you may not know or remember that this year I'm on a leave of absence from my university in Canada,
00:01:36.740 and I'm a scholar at the Declaration of Independence Center for the Study of American Freedom at Ole Miss,
00:01:43.940 which has been so far an unbelievable experience.
00:01:47.760 When I tell people that I'm at Ole Miss, you literally get this horrified thing because, you know,
00:01:55.900 everywhere in Mississippi apparently, you know, they're lynching. 0.99
00:02:00.320 They're lynching black people. 1.00
00:02:02.200 They're throwing into the pits of hell all sorts of Jews. 1.00
00:02:07.720 And, you know, why would I want to go not only to a place that is as scary as the United States because, 0.86
00:02:14.040 I mean, Donald Trump is literally sending out the militia, the military, to round up people without any due process.
00:02:22.760 He's killing, you know, very lovely sailors who are just sailing off the coast of Venezuela.
00:02:33.460 And without any due process, he just bombs them.
00:02:35.860 So he bombs perfectly innocent sailors.
00:02:38.980 He rounds up Hector Rodriguez, who's a neurosurgeon.
00:02:43.320 He just he looks for neurosurgeons in areas where MS-13 gang members hang out.
00:02:50.560 And then he just takes them and sends them to, you know, places where there's no due process, you know, in Yemen and Rwanda. 0.97
00:02:58.820 Now, it sounds as though I'm being hyperbolic.
00:03:03.520 I'm not.
00:03:04.400 I speak to these people every day.
00:03:06.240 But why are you going, Professor Saad, to the United States?
00:03:10.940 Aren't you afraid?
00:03:12.600 Afraid of what?
00:03:13.640 What what could make you be so detached, so decoupled from reality that my daughter's class is going to a beautiful school trip to New York City,
00:03:28.380 and there has to be a whole meeting to discuss the dangers to trans people, trans people of color, to what if one of the kids has an immediate need to have an abortion?
00:03:43.340 And now they can't anymore because Donald Trump is eradicating the rights of women. 1.00
00:03:48.120 He's killing trans people of color. 1.00
00:03:50.240 He's rounding up all people of color and killing them. 1.00
00:03:54.620 It's unbelievable. 0.99
00:03:55.780 Every single day, I start the new day with renewed hope, with renewed vigor, with renewed, you know, energy to fight the tsunami of lunacy.
00:04:10.540 But it's like the phoenix that rises from the ashes. 1.00
00:04:14.860 Human stupidity is truly infinite. 0.99
00:04:18.860 And if you remember, Albert Einstein was reputed to have said, you know, there are two things that are infinite. 1.00
00:04:24.700 You know, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not so sure about the universe. 0.99
00:04:29.740 Boy, was he right. 1.00
00:04:31.540 It's OK.
00:04:32.420 You can go to the United States.
00:04:34.240 You'll be safe under Donald Trump's regime. 1.00
00:04:37.260 Idiots. 1.00
00:04:37.740 You'll be right. 1.00
00:04:38.360 What if you say, you know, when they're sick?
00:04:41.360 You go to the United States.
00:04:41.880 But you can look at him.
00:04:43.300 respace I can't do this.
00:04:44.120 You can do this.
00:04:44.840 You just have to be aware of them.
00:04:45.460 You know, we've got to be aware of them.
00:04:46.240 What if we're not in the United States or in the United States..
00:04:46.920 ......
00:04:47.200 You're going to see this.
00:04:48.300 You know, uh, over the years.
00:04:49.000 That's probably enough Sony for the
00:04:51.720 organization.
00:04:52.560 Please list his desk.
00:04:54.620 LAUGHTER
