00:00:00.000 Gad Saad, author of Suicidal Empathy and visiting scholar Ole Miss, joins me now.
00:00:06.760 You know, it's really weird to hear these leaders talk about diversity after importing hundreds of thousands of Muslims who clearly aren't getting along very well with the people of Australia. 1.00
00:00:19.740 It's unbelievable. You know, as you know, Jesse, I've been warning about this for several decades.
00:00:24.600 Let's draw an analogy. Suppose you get married and there is diversity of thought in terms about being monogamous.
00:00:32.340 You want to have sex with as many women as possible, whereas your wife thinks that it's a good idea to be only true to one person. 0.92
00:00:39.820 That type of diversity within that union is probably not going to lead to good outcomes. 0.97
00:00:46.080 Islam may contain many adherents that are perfectly lovely.
00:00:50.240 But does Islam contain tenets that are perfectly incongruent with Western liberties?
00:00:56.480 Nothing could be clearer. We don't need this kind of diversity.
00:00:59.780 It's very hard to screen those types of Muslims out.
00:01:03.560 I mean, you can't just screen away people like that.
00:01:07.020 I mean, they can radicalize, they can self-radicalize, they can hide from customs and Border Patrol agents their true intentions.
00:01:14.020 I mean, what is the solution?
00:01:15.320 I don't like the term they can get radicalized.
00:01:20.480 It's as though that's outside the religion, right?
00:01:23.660 There is no Islamism. 1.00
00:01:25.400 There is no radical, violent, extremist militantism, right?
00:01:31.640 You don't just add a bunch of isms and a bunch of qualifiers so that you can hallucinate about it being different from Islam. 0.94
00:01:39.760 Islam is a codified set of ideas. 0.84
00:01:42.400 If I choose to ignore much of it, I will be peaceful.
00:01:46.600 If I choose to take it seriously, I won't be peaceful.
00:01:50.400 So it's not radicalization.
00:01:52.940 It's simply whether I adhere to the tenets of the faith or I don't.
00:01:56.960 And so to your point, you could never vet someone because these are people who had been, the father had been there since the 90s.
00:02:03.780 The son was born there.
00:02:05.240 So certainly from any vetting perspective, you would think they're well acclimatized to Western liberties.
00:02:11.760 And it just takes one trigger and off we go.
00:02:15.060 Unbelievable.
00:02:15.960 And we are getting additional reporting that one is still fighting for their life.
00:02:20.540 So thank God.
00:02:21.940 Gad Saad, great to talk to you as always, even under these tragic circumstances.
