00:00:00.620Hi everybody, this is Gad Saad. Happy New Year to everyone. May your year be filled with nothing but health, happiness, and love.
00:00:11.320I was hoping to not start off the new year with a clip that is critical in nature, but as often happens, to criticize someone allows us to garner some important lesson.
00:00:26.140Otherwise, of course, the criticism is frivolous. In this case, I returned to someone that I was hoping to never have to criticize again, Sam Harris, and I only was made aware of this clip while seeing it on Jennifer Say's Twitter handle.
00:00:44.980So, tip of the hat to Jennifer Say. But I think the clip is taken from Jordan Peterson's recent podcast with Sam Harris.
00:00:58.620And in the clip, which I'll play so that you can believe it with your own eyes and ears, Sam Harris is talking down to Elon Musk.
00:01:10.220You know, it's really, Elon is really damaging his reputation and, you know, he's, you know, he's talking to people, you know, the, as Jennifer Say said, you know, to the, to the great unwashed, to the, to the, to the rubes, to the plebs.
00:01:27.960And this is going to damage his reputation in circles that count, you know, the circle of Sam and his friends.
00:01:36.820Imagine someone being so drowning in his narcissistic elitism that he feels perfectly emboldened to talk down to Elon Musk.
00:01:54.960I mean, look at what Twitter has done to Elon's life.
00:02:00.500It's just, you know, Elon used to be a friend, you know, he's somebody I knew reasonably well.
00:02:08.920You know, his engagement with Twitter has been catastrophic for him as a person from my point of view.
00:02:16.020I mean, it's just, it's clearly a compulsion.
00:02:18.480I mean, he was so addicted to it that he felt he needed to buy the platform.
00:02:22.040Um, but it is a, you know, his use of it has been so irresponsible and, uh, produced such, I mean, forget about the harm he's produced in other people's lives.
00:02:34.540Uh, and, and, and, and nothing I'm saying now, it relates to changes he's made to the platform.
00:02:41.020I mean, that's, that's a separate thing that we can talk about.
00:02:43.420You know, I'm, I'm, I've always been agnostic as to whether or not he could actually improve Twitter as a, as a platform.
00:02:48.060And he may yet wind up doing that, but I'm just talking about the way he has personally used it as a user of the platform and the way he's interacted with people and boosted, signal boosted massively, um, the profiles of anonymous QAnon lunatic trolls, right?
00:03:05.460I mean, he's, he's been completely cavalier in who he interacts with all the while knowing that anyone he boosts suddenly gets, you know, a million followers and has a platform that they otherwise couldn't imagine having.
00:03:18.900Um, so I look at him and I think, all right, if, if someone of his talent who has so many other good things to do with his 24 hours in any given day, uh, is, is this derailed by this platform?
00:03:36.360You know, is this, is, is using it this compulsively to the obvious degradation of his reputation in most circles that count?
00:03:50.640Imagine drowning in a gigantic Olympic sized swimming pool of narcissistic elitism that you think that, uh, you are emboldened to talk down to Elon Musk.
