00:26:32.200 to accommodate persecuted people who are seeking asylum.

00:26:44.420 were converting to Christianity

00:26:46.760 under the supervision of local church leaders.

00:26:50.360 So I'm not religious myself, but I am and always will be

00:26:53.800 the granddaughter of a Methodist reverend.

00:26:56.660 And I know the joy that comes to priests

00:26:58.900 every time their flocks grow and a sinner repenteth.

00:27:03.280 But I found it shocking that not a single one

00:27:06.400 of these conversions was treated with any suspicion

00:27:10.420 until at the same time it was discovered

00:27:12.940 that one convert was found to have committed

00:27:24.680 And it turned out that over many years, we have had very naive church leaders converting people who had no interest in Christianity as a means to circumvent border control.

00:27:42.400 When a system that makes accommodations for the vulnerable is being exploited by opponents of that system, something needs to change.

00:28:20.620 In January this year, Javier Malay gave a fantastic speech in Davos, of all places.

00:28:27.220 But I must quote it, because it had very similar themes to a speech that I gave two years ago,

00:28:32.200 which I'm hoping actually inspired him.

00:28:34.480 And in his speech, he says,

00:28:36.540 it may sound ridiculous to suggest that the West has turned to socialism,

00:28:40.360 but it's only ridiculous if you limit yourself to the traditional economic definition of socialism,

00:28:46.800 which says that it's an economic system where the state owns the means of production.

00:28:51.380 This definition should be updated in the light of current circumstances.

00:28:57.200 And he goes on to say that today's states don't need to control the means of production

00:29:02.500 to control every aspect of the lives of individuals.

00:29:06.680 With tools such as printing money, debt, subsidies, controlling the interest rate,

00:29:11.880 price controls, and regulations to correct market failures,

00:29:15.100 the state can control the lives and fates of millions of individuals.

00:29:20.160 He is absolutely right.

00:29:22.380 Two years ago when I gave that speech about how so many leftist ideologies

00:29:27.100 have snuck into institutions across the Western world

00:29:30.700 wearing the clothes of the civil rights movement.

00:29:33.600 But they are not about civil rights.

00:29:36.820 So many people don't know what freedom really is because they've always had it.

00:29:41.160 They have no idea just how lucky they are and just how fragile.

00:29:45.100 freedom can be. They don't know how easily freedom can be taken away, or in some cases,

00:29:59.000 given away. No, Michael. No, no, no. She mentioned Davos in a negative way. She said Davos

00:30:05.400 of all places. That's where Javier Millet gave the speech. So she's not praising Davos at all.

00:31:04.720 I had in the UK I know the values that can make citizens wealthier and happier

00:37:25.320 and says that they are anti-racist it sounds okay and then all of a sudden we

00:37:30.480 see that they've decided that all white people are racist and so the only way to 0.99

00:45:52.180 If the West is only prosperous due to slavery and colonialism, if all of its success is down to the patriarchy and white supremacy and heteronormative oppression, there is a price to be paid.

00:46:04.720 And that price is that our beliefs, democracy, equality before the law, meritocracy, free markets, are fiction.
