00:28:16.240but i don't know how sick they were or i don't think they were on ventilators you know but this
00:28:22.360is just me assuming i don't think that they if they're going to send seven people out of province
00:28:27.220are they going to send seven people that are the sickest ones you know they had they had a whole
00:28:33.580unit that was called like i said copa nycobic cabana and uh that's where they had all the
00:28:40.260covid patients so that's why i asked the doctor when he when i heard that they were sending him
00:28:46.160out of province i said is this politically driven at all and he said you know we have and he said i
00:28:52.320don't doubt it because we have no say me as this doctor i have no say and if and who who goes so
00:28:59.480what happens is they take a journal that we send it to the saskatchewan health whatever it's called
00:29:06.420health system or whatever and they decide based on and these aren't even like they might have a
00:29:13.100doctor on that panel but i mean who better can tell how a patient is than the the doctor that
00:29:22.020is bedside with a patient so here you have a just a little group of people that is going to decide
00:29:28.760who's going to go out of province and not based on a piece of paper in their hand and they've
00:29:33.380never seen him no no no no and that's why i said is this politically driven they see his name on
00:29:39.040that journal and that's when he said i don't doubt it but i don't know like they sent i guess well
00:29:45.080they sent seven others or six others except for mark so i don't know well the reason i ask is
00:29:52.440because once they put you on a ventilator the statistics were they went right down yeah and
00:29:58.760most of the people who were put on those things died and mark didn't and so that's why i ask
00:30:06.420you know were the medical team around him were they shocked when he came out of this like
00:30:12.320i think that i i can't say and when i and when you say that i talk to the doctors daily i didn't
00:30:19.060because sean was out there in toronto with him okay you know so he was sort of that and i was so
00:30:24.920i had been so sick for so long and i was so beside myself of you know worry and all these things so
00:30:32.120so basically sean was that that person that was talking to the doctor so i i can only guess you
00:30:39.500know and my guess would be that i guess they've seen everything so i don't i can't tell you in
00:30:44.680this in this situation if they were or not in hindsight i think mark has proven how strong
00:30:54.620he is both mentally and physically um to both doctors and and you know anyone who has you know
00:31:02.520talked to him since and he was back traveling canada in 22 you know when he was still recovering
00:31:08.080he got so sick on one of the tours that he was with laura lynn and you know a couple others and
00:31:13.780he had to stay back in in ottawa in in a hotel room all by himself because he got sick again
00:31:19.520and he was so sick he couldn't even travel home were there any costs put to you and mark
00:31:26.320over the these flights and any other extra medical care over and above no nothing and they actually
00:31:34.020flew sean out there for free because they said he there's one person that can go with him i had to
00:31:40.380take over marks or our company mark's company um and i had to keep that going and we have dogs and
00:31:48.700everything so i had to keep you know the yeah i had to hold the fort down at home so um so sean
00:31:57.120is the one that got that free ticket and he also got paid um a little bit of money for for food
00:32:03.440every day so all that was taken care of so i'm really thankful and happy for that let's talk
00:32:09.240about he wasn't able to get back home again sean because he couldn't fly back home because by then
00:32:16.260you had to have a vaccine or something to come back home so he had to drive home so he actually
00:32:22.140hitchhiked basically all the way back to hitchhike that's a two-day drive it's insane i'm sure it
00:32:28.160wasn't with the same person the entire way that must be a story yeah i think they did it and
00:32:33.200yeah it's all sort of like a relay interesting too you know i've heard uh mark talk about
00:32:41.500freedom convoy and wishing so much that he could have been there but he was just too ill
00:32:48.080with because he was on oxygen for a long time right his lungs were had taken a beating you
00:32:58.300wouldn't believe and he sat there and i he said i i need to go and i said if you do that0.99
00:33:04.120i might as well just kill you now i will absolutely divorce you you better not i said0.99
00:33:13.780what you have been through and what we have been through for you to jeopardize your health again1.00
00:33:19.620this quickly because you are so pulled to go to that i understand it must hurt so much i said but
00:33:29.140you are that's over my dead body that you're gonna go but yet i mean so and that's winter
00:33:35.860and it was minus 40 and and it was cold everywhere yeah uh but not much longer after that maybe in
00:33:42.780the spring or summer he was out with laura lynn doing more more touring and more i mean
00:33:46.360did he improve that quickly he did improve really quickly they actually said to me
00:33:51.940when he came back to saskatoon i walked in the room five minutes after they had wheeled him in
00:34:01.260there and he turned to me and he said there's my baby and i thought that he would be completely
00:34:07.380out of it and i just broke down and cried and they said to me i talked to the doctor just shortly
00:34:14.900after and he said you're probably looking at him being in the hospital till spring
00:34:19.780uh because he has been through so much like he had two blood clots one in each lung
00:34:26.860on the size of an orange well so and he had necrotizing pneumonia that is pneumonia that
00:34:36.660kind of eats away you know the lungs so even at that point they weren't sure if he was going to
00:34:44.140bounce all the way back they they said he might be on oxygen for the rest of his life we don't know
00:34:48.820but he was he bounced back really really quick but he's also the kind of dude that will
00:34:55.980jeopardize like like i said he wanted to go to to this convoy so he would he would jeopardize his
00:35:03.300own health he will put himself second and third and fourth if he could just perform and do what
00:35:10.360he is like he like he felt he was called to do this and i never stood in the way of him doing
00:35:18.600that because i i knew how important it was not just for mark but for everybody in canada everybody
00:35:26.060in the world that would ever listen to any of these freedom fighters you know so i would never
00:35:32.440ever stand in the way and i'm you know i i'm i don't do this very often to be you know there
00:35:39.460has been a couple that has asked me i'm pretty camera shy you know i'm a musician i sing i can
00:35:45.520be on stage in front of thousands of people i don't care about that i'm not shy i just don't
00:35:49.940like the camera so you know what i'll tell you i'm going to tell the audience right now that
00:35:53.960we've been working on setting this up for weeks maybe even months and we finally made it happen
00:36:01.440today so i'm very happy and thankful for that about the business keeping the business going
00:36:07.240well mark was out uh sick in toronto and there's people who don't know i mean he's an arborist
00:36:14.920right he you guys had a tree business yeah i would say yeah so i had to keep that going and
00:36:22.100i was talking to customers all day long um mark's sons um are both climbers so they they work for
00:36:29.860the company as climbers and I couldn't even tell them all the details that I knew from day to day
00:36:37.780because what they do is such dangerous work I couldn't have them up in a tree with a chainsaw
00:36:44.120in their hand thinking about you know how close he was to dying so I didn't give them all the
00:36:51.000information that I got and that I had to sort of deal with and oh my goodness be careful
00:36:58.200so um and i was talking to customers and setting everything up and i was crying to all of them and
00:37:05.960there i don't think there was a single customer that didn't understand the situation but i was
00:37:11.280crying i i am a really emotional person i'm a strong person but i'm also emotional i'm i'm a
00:37:18.000leo and they are strong but also very emotional so and i'm not scared of showing that i cry and
00:37:24.620And it's just, you know, it's not the coolest thing for a tree company customer to sit and listen to a person on the other end, setting up their date for taking down a tree while they're crying.
00:37:37.540like but it was what it was and everybody was so understanding because most of the customers that
00:37:46.420we had and had been customers that you know mark had had you know done several jobs for and they
00:37:55.120were all just saying we're we're praying for him and you know so lots of love from all of those
00:38:00.420as well how long did were you able to keep that going I mean Mark went on tours we know
00:38:07.160speaking tours speaking engagements he got sick again I'm gonna say like the current situation
00:38:14.160about maybe a year year and a half ago it started to happen so there was some time in between where
00:38:21.020the business started to go down like could you take yeah so he the whole of 22 he was back traveling
00:38:29.260again and the company was bleeding but at that point I had also you know understood a little bit
00:38:34.880more of how to handle things so I could I could help out more but then in 23 he you know we shut
00:38:43.580down in the winter so in in the spring of 23 when we sort of opened the business up again and they
00:38:49.420started working Mark wanted to just take care of things himself which was okay so I helped out with
00:38:57.840a few things but then little by little in no this wasn't in so what are we now 26 so yeah okay so
00:39:08.74024 is when he ended up in the hospital again but the year before that so they um I would say
00:39:15.900Christmas of 23 is when I noticed that something was really off like Mark we had the whole family
00:39:23.600over his daughter and boyfriend and both the sons and Mark's mom.
00:39:28.900And we were sitting after we had Christmas dinner.
00:39:32.420Mark loved, you know, to get to the point where we could sit
00:39:36.160and play board games and just visit and, you know, be a family and have fun.
00:39:40.800He just got up from the table and went somewhere.
00:39:43.780And I'm thinking he's going to the bathroom or something.
00:39:45.860But he went away and didn't come back.
00:59:13.820He sat in front of the TV, and he said, I don't want to move.
00:59:18.060I don't want to lose my childhood home, and he was just crying.
00:59:20.720And I said, Mark, we don't have a chance to keep this house.
00:59:24.300we can't so were you able to pay everything off and maybe have a little bit extra after
00:59:31.980the bankruptcy action i paid as much as i could and um the rest of the bankruptcy
00:59:39.560had to take care of and the the little we had that you know of cash extra was money that we
00:59:46.380lived off of and you know paying bills and and you know mark's accountant that had done all his
00:59:55.360paperwork i owed her like i don't know six seven thousand so all together so i had to pay those
01:00:04.320and it's just been things surfacing all the time and i am not a person i am not high maintenance
01:00:14.500when it comes to i don't need anything you know i i haven't even been to the hairdresser since
01:00:21.640before but i mean so i can do without and i don't have the long beautiful nails and all that stuff
01:00:29.740so i mean i i will get by on very little but i needed to know that mark got the right supplements
01:00:36.560and i needed to know that my dogs was were fed and there were days where i didn't eat actually
01:00:44.320Not that I actually couldn't stand losing a few pounds anyways from before, but cortisol, high cortisol and stress, those things to your body, that is just insane.
01:00:55.180I know that, I mean, just from listening to you, it sounds like you've learned even more how to stretch a buck, considering all of this inflation going on around us and how tough it's gotten for so many more people.
01:01:09.180I mean, I've been through that myself.
01:07:44.100And I'm like, oh, my goodness gracious. And this doctor has reversed Alzheimer's and dementia and has amazing results with not just Alzheimer's and dementia.
01:07:53.760I understand that he has been such a humongous help to so many people.
01:07:58.440And he's dealing with supplements, not medications. And they also do some some sort of treatments that is sort of cutting edge from what I understand.
01:08:07.560So I don't know much about it yet because I just started the dialogue and just got word that we can probably do this for you guys.
01:08:17.480You've got to make sure because there's a lot of people who are genuinely concerned about you and Mark.
