00:04:00.000 Hello everybody, welcome to Shadow at Night for Friday, March the 28th, 2025 on the show tonight.
00:04:20.500 We're going to talk Alberta independence with Calgary lawyer Jeff Rath of Rath & Company
00:04:27.440 and the co-founder and VP General Counsel
00:04:30.540 of the Alberta Prosperity Project.
00:04:32.900 Jeff is going to join the show in just a couple of minutes,
00:04:36.640 which as always is brought to you by CanadaNanoSilver.com.
00:04:42.040 Find out more about silver by watching this short message.
00:04:45.660 Silver is amazing.
00:04:46.840 It has several natural health benefits
00:04:48.660 and it's been used for hundreds of years for health and healing.
00:04:51.860 That's the main reason they made silverware from silver.
00:04:54.840 But seriously, this nano silver from Silverseuticals
00:04:57.220 is the best and safest silver you can find there are hundreds of studies and reports on it i've
00:05:01.940 read some of the studies myself and it's mind-blowing one of the things that sets silver
00:05:06.180 suiticles apart is that it washes out of your body in 24 hours no silver build up and no turning blue
00:05:11.940 and it won't even harm the good bacteria your body needs it's so effective they can use very
00:05:17.140 small concentrations of silver like 10 and 32 parts per million and still outperform other silvers
00:05:22.740 that have up to 3,000 parts per million.
00:05:25.460 It's safer and more effective at the same time.
00:05:28.820 It is an incredibly small particle
00:05:30.320 that is small enough to work through your body,
00:05:32.500 but big enough not to fall out of suspension.
00:05:34.660 They infuse it into almost all of their products.
00:05:36.940 It works in facial serums, toothpaste, gels,
00:05:39.620 and even gummies that work to help your immune system.
00:05:42.160 I always get a kick when she says,
00:05:44.660 and no turning blue.
00:05:46.120 Everybody asking that question,
00:05:47.460 now you take silver, you turn blue.
00:05:49.040 Not with this stuff, you don't.

00:07:27.380 with our very special guest tonight
00:07:28.760 from the Alberta Prosperity Project,
00:07:31.360 lawyer Jeff Rath, right after this.
00:07:49.640 all right welcome back let's bring jeff oh wait a minute jeff's device is suddenly not connected
00:08:09.840 jeff if you're watching right now could you please reconnect your camera and your microphone
00:08:13.680 so we can get you on the show i want to talk about alberta independence and i need you to
00:08:19.620 to do it you see there's your name right there in the corner oops right there in the corner
00:08:22.860 it's right there hang on let me text him here maybe he doesn't know what's happened
00:08:28.440 dude you're not connected
00:08:38.880 you were but now you're not
00:08:49.620 Of course, right during that break.
00:08:53.360 I know, right?
00:08:54.320 This week has been really strange, you guys, for Ghosts in the Machine.
00:08:58.020 But I guess this is just something we have to deal with on live television.
00:09:02.660 While we're waiting for Jeff to come back, he asked me to go ahead and play this video.
00:09:08.520 He thought it was very timely, considering the situation that Alberta is in right now.
00:09:13.840 Vice President of the United States, J.D. Vance, was in Greenland.
00:09:19.620 the last couple of days talking about how poorly denmark has treated them and here's a little bit
00:09:25.540 of the speech he gave yesterday and mark a lot of attacks at the trump administration at the
00:09:31.540 president at me at others in our administration for saying the obvious which is that denmark
00:09:37.300 hasn't done a good job at keeping greenland safe and you know one of the things i heard was well
00:09:42.820 what about the many danes who lost their lives in the war on terror fighting alongside the united
00:09:47.700 States. Well, look, we obviously honor the sacrifice of our Danish friends in the war on terror
00:09:53.300 20 years ago, just as, for example, the French honor the sacrifice of Americans in Normandy
00:10:00.040 80 years ago. But recognizing that there are important security partnerships in the past
00:10:05.820 does not mean that we can't have disagreements with allies in the present about how to preserve
00:10:11.700 our shared security for the future and that's what this is about there is no amount of bullying no
00:10:18.340 amount of obfuscating no amount of confusing the issue our message to denmark is very simple you
00:10:24.580 have not done a good job by the people of greenland you have under invested in the people of greenland
00:10:30.420 and you have under invested in the security architecture of this incredible beautiful land
00:10:35.780 mass filled with incredible people that has to change and because it hasn't changed this is why
00:10:41.540 president trump's policy in greenland is what it is it's consistent with the first trump
00:10:46.160 administration where you saw significant investments in arctic security and it will
00:10:50.520 continue over the next four years under president trump's leadership
00:10:53.460 okay so that was jd vance talking about what a terrible job greenland uh sorry denmark has done
00:11:02.860 taking care of greenland and jeff hello oh hey how are you how's it going sorry it's been a long
00:11:12.960 it's been a long week hey and i want to send a special shout out to our viewers in black diamond
00:11:19.080 so yeah that's uh yeah those are my neighbors and i want to also express my thanks to the good folks
00:11:25.520 in the black diamond emergency room who've been patching up myself and my friends and family for
00:11:29.840 over 30 years best little emergency room in alberta i'll tell you that you told me a pretty
00:11:35.320 interesting story the other day about how you're you identify as a cyborg which i thought was kind
00:11:40.500 of amusing i think anybody that's been cowboying long enough ends up with a lot of metal in their
00:11:46.660 body sooner or later it's just the way it seems to go it doesn't stop any of us don't let don't
00:11:52.920 let fear and common sense stop you you know of course not so we played we just played the jd
00:11:58.080 vance video from greenland where he was talking about how poorly they've been treated by denmark
00:12:04.220 which i guess is their monarchy or their main i don't even know how to describe it really i mean
00:12:13.560 how can such a little country like denmark controls such a big land mass like greenland
00:12:18.260 how far back does that go and why would i think eric i think it goes back to eric the red actually
00:12:25.440 yeah think about it like the dark ages viking times man like that's crazy but what was the
00:12:31.300 relevance absolutely yeah what was the relevance between uh that particular address that vans gave
00:12:36.660 today and the situation in alberta currently well that's what i wanted to talk about because i think
00:12:42.200 that if you take the word denmark and replace it with the word canada and if you replace the term
00:12:47.320 greenland and replace it with the word alberta that's exactly where we are and i think you know
00:12:52.480 what the feedback that we're getting from the people that we're engaged with
00:12:56.160 in the United States in terms of our Alberta prosperity project and others
00:13:01.540 delegation to Washington project, right.
00:13:03.940 Which I'll explain in a bit more detail later. You know,
00:13:08.260 the feedback that we're getting from the members of the U S administration
00:13:12.520 that we're talking to is the same rationale for self-determination of
00:13:16.500 Greenland applies to self-determination for Alberta outside of Canada.
00:13:20.820 I mean, obviously, you know, the you know, the liberal government in Ottawa, which has been largely either a controlled by the communist Chinese or be communist Chinese adjacent or C, just for whatever magical reason, has done nothing but promote policies that are friendly to Chinese global hegemony. 0.84
00:13:41.060 Right. Yeah. Including the destruction of the Alberta oil and gas industry and the deterioration of North American energy supply. 0.82
00:13:48.840 right are all very pro-chinese chinese friendly policies the same rationale applies from a u.s
00:13:55.840 national security perspective for encouraging and supporting alberta independence to get the alberta
00:14:03.460 oil resource which is the third largest oil resource in the entire world with a natural gas
00:14:10.480 resource that has just been recalibrated at in excess of 130 trillion tons and then people that
00:14:17.520 also understand the extent to which the 400 trillion i'm not times but um mcf so a million
00:14:24.740 cubic feet that understand the extent to which the montany gas field of 400 trillion cubic feet
00:14:32.340 which extends into alberta also probably needs to be recalibrated into the alberta reserves right
00:14:39.240 alberta probably has the second or third largest natural gas resource in the entire world right so
00:14:47.460 let's look at some of the things that trudeau did to destroy undermine we can north american
00:14:54.320 energy security and energy supply like first of all we know that the biden's were bought and paid 0.69
00:14:58.700 for by the communist chinese i don't think there's any question about the fact that you know hunter 0.68
00:15:03.920 biden and joe biden and biden inc were completely bought and paid for you know by the communist 0.68
00:15:08.540 chinese so what did biden do he completely he blew down the entire u.s strategic reserve 0.82
00:15:14.300 in you know in a foolish attempt to bring down gasoline prices that he himself you know drove up 0.99
00:15:22.120 through his stupid policy so he destroyed the u.s strategic reserve and at the same time trudeau 0.99
00:15:28.340 on the i believe on behalf of the of the oh and you know the keystone pipeline project and i 1.00
00:15:33.720 believe that trudeau on behalf of the communist chinese um basically um was fully complicit with
00:15:40.380 biden in terms of the destruction of the keystone project was not supportive of trans canada
00:15:45.440 pipelines was not you know east to west pipelines was not supportive of pipelines through british
00:15:50.500 columbia and then on top of it you know brought in the tanker bands to prevent oil from being
00:15:55.580 moved down the west coast of canada a lot of people don't also understand that trudeau through
00:16:00.520 ordering council brought in regulations to literally decimate the rolling stock of tanker
00:16:07.720 cars to move oil from alberta to texas by rail by changing the tanker spec so that basically the
00:16:14.580 majority of the rolling stock of oil transport um cars can no longer be used internationally
00:16:20.100 to ship oil from alberta to texas brought in all of these oh and then on top of it brought in
00:16:25.420 emission caps um you know we're threatening production caps you know on alberto oil and gas
00:16:30.600 all of these policies that were from my perspective being deliberately brought in
00:16:36.060 to weaken u.s energy supply um drive up inflation in north america you know all of which you know 0.83
00:16:43.200 harmful to u.s harmful to u.s national security and obviously in favor of you know chinese uh 0.81
00:16:49.900 global hegemony right so that's you know so on all of that basis you know u.s support for an 0.94
00:16:56.800 independent alberta where you know an independent even if you know we're not talking full statehood
00:17:02.180 but just talking an independent nation state called the Commonwealth of
00:17:05.860 Alberta. You know, there's no,
00:17:08.780 there's no doubt that Alberta would enter into the U S to ensure complete 0.70
00:17:16.640 security of supply. And in effect, you know,
00:17:19.440 the Alberta oil field could then become the U S strategic reserve with all of
00:17:24.640 our, all of the U S strategic reserve, you know,
00:17:27.400 safely stored 10,000 meters underground, um, you know, in Alberta, you're called upon anytime they
00:17:34.960 need it. You're, you're talking about Alberta joining the United States, or this is still about
00:17:41.000 independent Alberta? Well, this is still about an independent Alberta, but certainly, you know,
00:17:46.440 with regard to Alberta, um, Alberta, Alberta becoming independent, you know, it's in Alberta's
00:17:52.840 interest to have long-term security of supply agreements with the united states access to u.s
00:17:58.580 tidewater u.s support for enhanced access to british columbia tidewater u.s support for um
00:18:05.300 uh you know for you know other pipelines leaving alberta to you know eastern canada even uh you
00:18:11.360 know and so on right um you know it's in it's in the u.s interest to have a thriving alberta
00:18:16.900 energy economy that's fully prepared to meet all of the needs of north america but more especially
00:18:22.680 the United States, given that, you know, Canada doesn't seem to care very much for Alberta's
00:18:27.060 so-called dirty oil. Let me ask you a question, and this is something I've never asked any
00:18:32.080 Albertan before. I lived in Calgary for a couple of years in the mid-90s and then again in the
00:18:36.220 early 2000s, and I thought Calgary was an amazing city. You know, coming from Winnipeg, and I'd
00:18:41.860 lived in Ottawa, and I'd lived in London, Ontario, all over Canada pretty much. My radio career took
00:18:46.260 me there, right? I found Calgary to be the most advanced city that I had spent any time in in the
00:18:52.240 entire country in the last 10 years since justin trudeau's policies have kicked in all of the 0.98
00:18:59.280 climate nonsense i'm hearing now and somebody told me this just yesterday calgary is a shithole 0.93
00:19:07.040 and i went that's amazing to me because calgary the calgary i know is is not that way at all 0.93
00:19:13.780 what's your experience living in that area in the last 10 years has calgary gone downhill and is it
00:19:20.620 because of what Trudeau has done, in your opinion?
00:19:24.320 Oh, absolutely.
00:19:25.800 I mean, you know, Trudeau's flooded Alberta, not just Calgary, 0.98
00:19:29.100 but flooded Alberta with all of the immigrants that Quebec didn't want. 0.88
00:19:34.040 So, you know, we now have, you know, one of the highest, 0.95
00:19:36.420 Calgary has one of the highest unemployment rates in Canada now.
00:19:39.540 Our HIV rate is soaring because people are speculating
00:19:43.920 that Trudeau didn't even bother to HIV screen all of the, you know,
00:19:47.380 all of the people that they were sending to Alberta.
00:19:49.360 our hiv rates are up about 70 largely amongst the immigrant community that the trudeau's flooded
00:19:55.040 into uh flooded into alberta um uh our homelessness rates are through the ceiling i mean how much of
00:20:01.360 that is you know trudeau's permissive um you know pro-drug um you know pro you know pro-cannabis
00:20:07.360 pro uh you know legalization policies and lack of enforcement of um you know drug laws you know as
00:20:15.260 as against criminal fentanyl gangs and all the rest of that stuff right all the problems that
00:20:19.260 we're having in that regard uh it's completely shocking you know what calgary's turned into i
00:20:24.440 mean my wife doesn't feel safe going downtown anymore you know it's it's that bad and i mean
00:20:29.640 you know my wife and i were driving downtown you know not two or three months ago and i think we
00:20:34.160 were uh it was uh center street so it's just at the base of the calgary towers we're driving
00:20:39.380 you know towards the river and there's literally homeless people lined up all the way around the
00:20:44.600 block and up the steven avenue mall to get uh you know to get uh uh food you know free lunch from
00:20:50.880 some sort of christian ministry that was providing food to the homeless on uh on calgary streets i
00:20:56.980 mean it's it's shocking what jody got you know all these liberals like uh the heat benchy who's
00:21:02.500 now the leader of the communist party of alberta otherwise known as the ndp have done to alberta
00:21:07.540 you know jody gondek the leader of the communist faction you know mayor of you know on city council
00:21:13.200 who's the mayor who's now the mayor of talgary you know what these people have done to our city
00:21:17.860 let alone let's you know let's address you know other reasons for you know alberta independence
00:21:23.460 you know a big one being control of our own immigration right and for most albertans that
00:21:29.120 have lived here trudeau didn't consult any of us as to whether or not we wanted the population of
00:21:34.120 alberta to increase to five million people apparently one of the you know one of the
00:21:38.540 lovely people in and around um uh mark carney right um you know mark that you know mark the
00:21:44.500 carnival hawkster carney um has plans to increase the population of toronto to 20 million the
00:21:50.500 population of montreal to 14 million the population of vancouver to 19 million and the population of
00:21:56.080 calgary to seven or eight million yeah this is the century initiative guy that he hired
00:22:00.860 you know last winter is an example i think you and i were talking about it today
00:22:06.260 um you know we had winnipeg like temperatures in calgary where you know it was minus 50 degrees
00:22:13.420 celsius and it was actually colder in calgary and colder out on my ranch than it was in places
00:22:18.020 on the surface of mars i know if you're a winnipegger that's not news because you get
00:22:21.520 that important jemaine all the time but for those of us that live in the chinook belt minus 50 is a
00:22:25.920 hell of a shock to our system so it gets to minus 50 in alberta and we're literally being told by
00:22:32.060 provincial premier to start shutting off electric heaters and shutting down electrical appliances
00:22:37.060 that draw a lot of power because we were literally on the verge of crashing our entire power grid
00:22:42.960 and people freezing to death in minus 50 degree weather because our power grid could not handle 1.00
00:22:48.680 all the immigrants that trudeau sent to alberta calgary is still on a water shortage and water 0.99
00:22:54.480 advisory because our water system can't handle all the immigrants that have flooded into calgary 1.00
00:22:59.140 um it's just a mess and of course all the idiots that are in charge of this are all of the world 1.00
00:23:04.940 economic forum 15 minute city planning types you know that have literally you know destroyed our 1.00
00:23:11.100 cities you know it's uh you know and again this is one of the reasons that uh so many people in
00:23:16.900 alberta support independence and want to get the hell out of canada is because we need to restore
00:23:21.960 some sort of common sense policies um you know to the commonwealth of alberta and get a grip on all
00:23:28.800 of this you know nobody's saying oh we're going to send all these people home but we're saying 1.00
00:23:31.800 time out we don't want any more immigration into alberta until we can accommodate all the people 0.99
00:23:37.540 we have i mean we have people um you know who's you know who have you know 18 19 20 30 you know 0.98
00:23:43.160 20 30 year old kids that can't leave home because they can't afford an apartment you know rents or
00:23:48.460 you know one bedroom apartment you know 2200 2300 2400 a month and the problem is that young 1.00
00:23:54.700 albertans that have grown up in alberta can't afford an apartment because all of these immigrants 0.99
00:23:59.980 that trudeau's flooded into alberta get government subsidies you know refugee rebates whatever money 1.00
00:24:05.620 they give to them they can all live you know five and ten people to a two-bedroom apartment where 0.80
00:24:10.540 they all you know shell out a you know a couple three four hundred bucks a month there you know
00:24:14.260 to live and you know uh you know albertans can't compete and they can't afford to live
00:24:20.000 I mean, the degree of despair in this province right now amongst young people is through the roof because they just don't see a future anymore.
00:24:29.280 And that's why people are supporting independence.
00:24:31.720 You know, that's interesting because Alberta is looked to as a beacon for all the freedom people.
00:24:36.300 And, you know, the ones I've connected to over the past five years or so, it's like I got it.
00:24:40.560 If I'm going to stay in Canada, I got to get to Alberta.
00:24:42.580 And to hear your depiction of it in the last couple of minutes, it sounds like hope is lost unless we can get this done.
00:24:51.480 Where is Danielle Smith in all of this?
00:24:54.240 And the reason I ask that is because I pointed out earlier this week that in a couple of speeches in the last couple of months,
00:25:00.340 she has explicitly mentioned and used the phrase national unity crisis based upon all of the conflicts she's been having with the liberals and whoever,
00:25:10.540 and doug ford all of those people on so-called team canada does she is she aware of this movement
00:25:18.060 and what do you feel as though she might make of it going forward well she i mean she's well aware
00:25:25.340 of the fact that i would say probably over 65 percent of the members of the united conservative
00:25:31.100 party of alberta now are also members of the alberta prosperity project and during the last
00:25:36.300 leadership uh election uh or selection process for the leader of uh the ucp after we all banded 0.97
00:25:44.280 together to throw jason kenny out on his useless liberal ass um uh during that leadership during 0.96
00:25:50.500 that that leadership uh convention um or you know contest app hosted a debate and daniel smith was 0.98
00:25:58.020 there and she was saying you know talking about those same things that you know canada is gonna
00:26:02.140 have to wake up and canada's going to have to um uh give alberta what it's been demanding for
00:26:07.900 decades which is you know keep your hands off of our natural resources stop trying to destroy our
00:26:13.380 oil and gas industry let people in business in alberta run the business of alberta because we
00:26:18.580 know what we're doing and people in ontario don't even know where their oil comes from
00:26:23.380 let alone you know let alone how it gets there i mean most people in ontario don't understand that
00:26:27.500 all of their alberta oil comes up through the states so when doug ford is we're gonna cut off
00:26:32.220 right he doesn't understand that he would be doing what everybody says law he has been threatening 0.96
00:26:39.180 to do which is to let the eastern bastards freeze in the dark but it was doug ford that was 0.87
00:26:43.220 advocating it by wanting to cut off alberta oil without realizing his alberta oil comes up through 0.97
00:26:48.340 edbridge line nine from michigan and through illinois right so you know albertans are just 1.00
00:26:54.120 tired of being governed by idiots that don't even know where their oil comes from they don't 1.00
00:26:57.780 understand our energy industry they don't understand uh in north american security 1.00
00:27:02.340 supply they don't understand how integrated the industry is and you know they want to but they
00:27:07.980 want to govern our industry they want to arbitrarily impose production caps they want
00:27:11.940 to arbitrarily impose emission caps as if anything we did in canada to control co2 emissions like 0.93
00:27:19.740 Even if we went to net zero in Canada tomorrow, it wouldn't change global CO2 or lower global CO2 because every year China and India increase their CO2 output by 10% each, which means whatever savings we make in Canada, whatever pain we inflict on the working people of Canada means nothing because apparently all of the idiots in Ottawa don't understand that we don't have a big dole over Canada.
00:27:46.260 that means that when we reduce our CO2,
00:27:48.760 the CO2 is reduced in our little part of the world, right? 0.65
00:27:51.620 It's ludicrous. 1.00
00:27:52.840 We've been subject to idiotic policies by idiotic people 1.00
00:27:56.360 who literally believe that they can kick the living crap 1.00
00:27:59.840 out of working men and women with taxes
00:28:01.760 and that that somehow is going to change the weather.
00:28:04.760 People in Alberta, we're just done with it.
00:28:07.740 This movement has been around, I remember,
00:28:09.820 because it used to be Western Canada
00:28:12.680 separating from the rest of the country.
00:28:15.280 and then i i think later on it kind of morphed into alberta only uh growing up in winnipeg i
00:28:20.720 remember my dad walking into the house one day i may have been 12 or 13 years old he was wearing
00:28:24.880 a ball cap and i i said western separation and it had the four western provinces on there i said
00:28:30.160 where'd you get that from he goes we're gonna separate damn it and so this is mid-70s that's
00:28:35.200 the old western canada concept right yeah so yeah 70s and i thought to myself huh wow that would be 0.94
00:28:41.360 terrible i don't want to see my country break up of course i'm 12 at the time right but you know
00:28:46.120 that's i believe and it may be even earlier that this movement goes back why now i mean there was
00:28:52.640 the you know national energy project that trudeau senior put in place uh back in 1980 that albertans
00:28:59.340 were pissed off about and separation came up again then very loudly and it didn't happen at that time
00:29:05.820 there have been other instances of this uh we had the reform party forum you know and and there has
00:29:12.860 been a lot of noise about this over the years so why now i think well what's i think what's different
00:29:19.440 about then and now is the fact that there are a lot of people in alberta that in good conscience
00:29:26.060 right have tried for the last 30 years you know and let's go back to you know preston manning and
00:29:32.340 the reform you know party wave of 1993 and you know and their slogan was the west wants in and
00:29:38.760 they were looking to work with ottawa to come up with ways to address you know western grievances
00:29:43.940 the inequality of bargaining power within confederation you know the fact that you know
00:29:48.700 ontario and quebec you know between them have six seats on the supreme court all of western
00:29:53.200 canada together bc manitoba alberta saskatchewan only have two seats on the supreme court you know
00:29:59.020 et cetera, et cetera. And the, you know,
00:30:00.700 and the degree to which the entire deck has been stacked for years in favor
00:30:04.160 of the Russian elites against the West and against Alberta and all of these
00:30:09.220 people that have been working in good conscience to try to ameliorate these
00:30:14.420 things have realized that nobody in Eastern Canada is the least bit interested
00:30:18.620 in listening to us in terms of ameliorating anything or changing anything.
00:30:23.520 You know, it's like literally, you know, Daniel Smith said it the other day,
00:30:26.280 it's like so after how many years of bashing our head against the concrete wall do we not finally
00:30:31.840 wake up and say you know what this concrete wall is a lot harder than our heads so it's time to do
00:30:37.120 something different and we just need to walk away from the wall and build our own wall and then
00:30:41.140 we'll just move on with our lives you know so i mean really that's where we're at and what's
00:30:45.420 really interesting about this and i mean keep in mind even you know four or five years ago i
00:30:50.500 personally um was very uncomfortable with a lot of um you know the things that were coming out of
00:30:56.700 the albertia independence movement for a lot of you know for a lot of different reasons but then
00:31:01.580 along comes covid right and justin trudeau you know literally um says that you know healthy human
00:31:08.780 beings um that have no symptoms have no fever have no sniffles have no cough have no nothing
00:31:14.460 can't get on an airplane and travel you know because they don't have some experimental drug
00:31:20.000 shot in their arm but people that are sniffling sneezing blowing snot everywhere that are clearly
00:31:26.640 infected and infectious but have been injected with this magical vaccine that was never guaranteed
00:31:32.720 to stop the spread of covid or prevent people from getting covid were allowed to get on airplanes
00:31:38.060 and spread covid across the country you know at that point like i just went like i've had it like
00:31:43.040 i've completely had enough i need to find a way forward because if trudeau won't let me leave
00:31:48.020 Canada or leave Alberta I'm just going to pick up my province and go and I literally I said that to
00:31:53.060 a friend of mine four years ago I said I've had it if Trudeau won't let me leave you know leave
00:31:57.140 Alberta I'm just going to take my province and leave with my province right so so I literally
00:32:02.040 that was that's what got me sort of looking around at you know the Alberta independence movement and
00:32:06.560 doing some research and finding some like-minded people who felt you know the same way that I did
00:32:12.040 that a lot of the you know sort of the separatist you know you know parties weren't really addressing
00:32:17.500 what was going on uh you know i'm a i have an honors degree in political science and an honors
00:32:21.580 degree in law from the london school of political science or economics and political science so i
00:32:26.460 didn't see any of those parties as being the answer to what we were doing so i got together
00:32:31.920 with dr dennis modry um you know robert patterson you know um you know a lot of other um you know
00:32:37.980 very intelligent hard-working albertans um you know that were very concerned about what was going
00:32:43.660 on and we formed an organization called the alberta prosperity project and the alberta
00:32:49.300 prosperity society as an not as a political party but as a non-partisan political organization
00:32:56.500 right or a political organization to educate albertans on the benefits of independence and
00:33:04.480 to educate albertans on the benefits of you know and the prosperity that can be created
00:33:10.580 uh through alberta leaving canada right so you know i've been working at that now for the last
00:33:17.060 um you know four years i'm one of the co-founders i'm the vice president and general council of
00:33:22.020 the alberta prosperity society and again we're you know we're a non you know we're an apolitical
00:33:27.200 educational society right but again we have we're in this kind of unique situation where all of the
00:33:34.600 people that we've been educating um you know are of the a lot of them are of the view that hey you
00:33:39.520 know all these small splinter um you know these small splinter independent parties i mean their
00:33:45.040 hearts are in the right place they're moving in the right direction we see them as friends and
00:33:49.140 allies you know working towards independence alongside with us shoulder to shoulder doesn't
00:33:54.600 matter what group it is whether it's you know the newly formed alberta republican party or
00:33:59.060 wexit or the you know the alberti independence party whatever it is we see all those people
00:34:04.060 as allies but a lot of us believe um that you know the way forward is you know for alberta
00:34:11.620 prosperity project members who are also members of the united conservative party you know to exert
00:34:17.300 you know their influence through the governing party to bring the governing party along with us
00:34:23.060 right and one of the things that we're really excited about given all the all of the um attention
00:34:28.080 that this Washington initiative has gathered
00:34:33.800 and all of the new emphasis on Alberta self-determination.
00:34:39.080 Thank you, President Donald Trump,
00:34:41.580 for your joint address to Congress
00:34:43.340 where you're speaking so strongly
00:34:45.360 in favor of Greenland self-determination.
00:34:48.020 Ever since then, it's breathed really new life
00:34:50.960 into what APP is doing.
00:34:53.960 And the great thing is that APP memberships
00:34:56.360 are moving up almost directly in a direct linear line with the increase of memberships in the
00:35:02.200 united conservative party of alberta so you know we're you know we literally see ourselves at a
00:35:07.540 point here you know in another year unless you know prior to the referendum coming up this year
00:35:12.660 that um you know the members you said referendum coming up later this year now i know and this is
00:35:21.980 something i wanted to bring up with you uh i know that you guys are trying to get this referendum
00:35:26.720 scheduled around municipal elections uh later on in the fall am i correct no that's that's that's
00:35:31.700 that's keith that's keith keith wilson keith and i disagree on that i don't see that there's any
00:35:35.480 magic to having the referendum in conjunction with the uh you know with the um uh you know
00:35:42.180 with the municipal elections keith keith is not you know keith i think i can't remember if he's
00:35:45.780 a member of app or not but he's not really involved in the planning that we're doing he's
00:35:49.260 always been kind of a lone wolf off doing keith wilson things off on his own right um uh you know
00:35:56.220 there may be reasons not to schedule a referendum with the municipal elections and have a standalone
00:36:01.620 uh referendum uh you know one of the big reasons of course is that the lefties are all really good
00:36:06.780 at getting you know getting out the union vote for municipal elections and voting for you know
00:36:11.140 lefty um you know municipal issues i don't want you know this issue being confused with those issues
00:36:16.660 right um you know so i mean that's just a discussion that's ongoing quite frankly what
00:36:22.200 the goal that we've set for ourselves is to have a referendum prior to december 15th of this year
00:36:27.320 it could be at the time of the municipal elections i mean i don't know what daniel smith is going to
00:36:31.920 do yet because there's two there's two paths to a referendum in albert right one is something
00:36:36.760 through the called the citizens initiative process right so app has committed its resources and its
00:36:43.120 work in all of its the funding we're bringing in and gathering from our members to gathering
00:36:48.120 enough signatures through the citizens initiative process to force a referendum this year through
00:36:53.360 that process jeff do you know how many how many members the uh the app has i'm sorry to interrupt
00:36:58.360 you the alberta prosperity project how many members just roughly ballpark
00:37:02.220 roughly um right now six over 65 000 uh member supporters and volunteers in our database right
00:37:12.700 And but the exciting thing about it is, as you know, all of this has started going viral, and the whole idea of Alberta independence has literally become, you know, dinner table talk across the province, right? Not just, you know, not just, you know, amongst my friends and my, you know, you know, and my cohorts, but right across the province.
00:37:31.640 um our memberships are soaring like we're up to you know we're getting picking up two three
00:37:36.620 four thousand new members a week is kind of the projections that we're seeing going forward last
00:37:40.380 week it was twenty two hundred this week is going to be i think three and a half thousand next week
00:37:44.260 we're projecting four thousand new members and the great thing is that all of these people for
00:37:48.480 whatever reason couldn't have anything to do with me of course um are also buying memberships in the
00:37:52.960 ucp right so as you know app membership is going up so is the ucp membership in lockstep right yeah
00:38:01.020 Which, you know, one way or another, we either have a referendum through a citizen's initiative process, or alternatively, we have a special general meeting of the UCP this year, and we have a vote within the UCP as to whether or not we should be having a referendum.
00:38:14.120 So, I mean, there's more than one way. My point is, there's more than one way to skin a cat. And the other, you know, I don't even know if we're allowed to say that anymore. Sorry, I apologize to Peter for that.
00:38:24.100 But, but anyway, the other thing that's interesting is that I think that our premier is reading the writing on the wall, like this little, you know, three or four weeks ago, you know, she said, Oh, I don't see much appetite in Alberta for independence when somebody asked her the question right after that initial tweet went viral.
00:38:41.060 right then you know last week she issued her list of demands to the canadian government you know
00:38:47.100 saying that unless you give me all of these things including no more transfer payments to wealthy
00:38:51.400 large provinces that can fully manage their own affairs without our money right this will create
00:38:56.720 a national unity crisis right which translates into either she'll be calling a referendum or
00:39:02.160 she understands that app is going to be working its ass off you know for the next four or five
00:39:06.320 months to get together the signatures or take the steps we need to take or the people or people
00:39:11.040 will spontaneously take the steps that they need to take through the ucp to bring about um a
00:39:16.800 referendum but it's gonna happen i mean i'm so you know i'm that i'm that confident about it
00:39:21.760 you talked about um membership increasing exponentially has this been going on just
00:39:27.520 recently since trudeau stepped down since carney and the liberals have been doing so well in the
00:39:32.240 polls or is this just something that's been happening naturally no i no i think it's my
00:39:38.240 fellow Albertans have come to the same realization that I've that I came to right you know I'm a
00:39:43.640 you know I'm a student of history I'm a student of political philosophy I mean I have you know
00:39:47.440 like I said I have an honors degree in poli sci and one of the things that I recognize you know
00:39:51.440 and a lot of us recognize is one of the big stumbling points to Alberta independence was
00:39:56.540 the question of what we would we be recognized as an independent country by the United States of
00:40:01.240 America and you know because they're our largest market they're obviously you know we have way
00:40:06.160 more north south crate you know between alberta and the united states and we have you know east
00:40:10.100 west trade right they're our most important trading partner and without u.s support you know
00:40:15.780 obviously any alberta independence project would be doomed to fail right and of course one of the
00:40:21.140 big problems and you know you're you know you and i are of a similar age so you would remember all
00:40:25.440 the fuss that was created when charles de gaulle stood on the balcony and i think it was you know
00:40:29.180 montreal or quebec city and said vive le quebec live right and how upset and incensed that pierre
00:40:34.280 Trudeau would be that you know that Charles de Gaulle would you know interfere and intermeddle
00:40:38.380 you know our NATO ally would you know meddle in the internal affairs of Canada well along comes
00:40:44.200 President Trump and it's quite clear that President Trump doesn't play the game by the same rules
00:40:49.380 and that you know he's not I don't think the Trump administration is as concerned witness Denmark and
00:40:55.820 Norway and Denmark and Greenland in you know interfering intermeddling in the internal affairs
00:41:02.920 of other nato allies so i don't think and certainly the feedback that we're getting from
00:41:07.860 the united states i mean the support for alberta statehood uh as in you know becoming a member of
00:41:12.740 the united states is overwhelming in the united states every american could see the benefits of
00:41:17.440 it they all would welcome us with open arms right why wouldn't they you know we'd be a massive you
00:41:23.020 know like you know like you know we would come you know if alberta were to join the united states
00:41:27.620 which is on the table um you know we would be a huge you know wealthy addition to the wealth of
00:41:35.160 the united states and the uh you know and the security of the united states and the national
00:41:39.640 security of the united states why wouldn't they want alberta to join the united states the bigger
00:41:44.900 question and i think you know we have we have to deal with just let me finish the point we have to
00:41:48.880 deal with things incrementally the first step is to vote alberta out of canada right form a new
00:41:54.380 alberta constitution right and a lot of us you know myself included feel that you know the the
00:41:59.720 constitution of the state of texas with some modifications to include massively enhanced
00:42:05.360 protections for you know indigenous rights uh you know accommodating you know alberta's indigenous
00:42:10.260 population with much stronger constitutional protections than they currently enjoy from
00:42:15.060 canada you know a constitutionalized resource revenue sharing deal that they don't currently
00:42:19.820 have with you know uh currently have that they would never have other than with the with an
00:42:24.600 independent alberta with the 75 or 80 billion dollars a year coming back into the province
00:42:30.360 that we've now been pissing away on quebec ontario the maritimes and the rest of canada
00:42:34.300 um you know etc um you know the future for an independent alberta is the brightest future
00:42:41.660 imaginable and that's what we're all working towards so what's the support level i mean i
00:42:48.420 saw a poll a couple of weeks ago it was 37 percent in favor of alberta independence and there was a
00:42:53.580 whole bunch of wishy-washy responses as well i'm going to say 20 percent were undecided or didn't
00:42:58.380 know and then there was another 35 or maybe 40 percent who said no we're staying in canada do
00:43:03.560 you think that you can pull this off and get those numbers past 50 sure let me ask you this question
00:43:09.460 if you were in manitoban and you were told hey if you vote for independence for manitoba you
00:43:15.240 We won't have to pay any more federal income tax.
00:43:17.500 Your fuel prices are going to be cut in half.
00:43:20.520 You're not going to pay any more capital gains tax.
00:43:22.840 You're not going to pay any excise tax.
00:43:24.640 You're not going to pay any more GST.
00:43:26.900 And on top of it, you're no longer going to be subject to ridiculous whims of bureaucrats in Ottawa
00:43:33.820 that don't understand you, don't like you, have rarely ever visited your province.
00:43:39.600 And instead of having soldiers in your province, you now have an army of tax collectors.
00:43:43.400 we can fix all of that for you i mean how many people in manitoba would vote for that
00:43:48.280 well manitoba's a bit of a different animal
00:43:50.540 no no i i hear you on that but i can tell you you know over and above the 37 percent that are
00:43:57.820 now firmly committed to independence in alberta you know you start asking you know young albertans
00:44:03.380 whether they want to have an open border with the united states and no longer need a passport to go
00:44:07.480 to las vegas ask them if they don't want to pay income tax anymore ask them if they'd like to see
00:44:12.060 rents and property values and the ability to buy a home be restored to the average working albertan
00:44:17.980 you know ask them uh you know whether they'd like to spend a life free at federal income tax gst
00:44:23.020 carbon tax all those types of things i you know i think very you know we can easily pick up um you
00:44:28.720 know 20 on top of the 37 we now have if not 25 let me throw this up right so i i honestly don't
00:44:35.660 think that um you know i honestly don't think that you know this is a you know that this is a
00:44:41.080 school's errand um oh and then oh i see you brought up the clarity reference um you know
00:44:46.180 we've already drafted a clear question you know for the for the for the referendum and it's it's
00:44:51.880 contained in it was actually in the press release that we put out at uh at our last press conference
00:44:56.680 but i actually took it upon myself to draft uh what i consider to be an appropriate piece of
00:45:01.220 legislation for alberta which would be the uh alberta independence referendum act um you know
00:45:06.680 which certainly app would be supporting daniel smith to pass in the alberta legislature which
00:45:11.960 even if we don't succeed this year shadow what we're calling for and you know in that proposed
00:45:17.140 legislation is that after six within six months of every federal election from now on there has
00:45:23.600 to be a referendum in alberta to ask albertans whether they want to remain in canada and what
00:45:28.280 we're advocating in that regard is that given the way that canada works and given the disparity of
00:45:35.100 representation between alberta quebec you know ontario the maritimes and elsewhere right every
00:45:40.560 time ontario and montreal get together and elect whoever it is that they decide is going to be
00:45:46.560 us albertans should be given the opportunity to have a vote in the province to decide whether
00:45:53.320 they want to be bossed around by whoever it is that quebec and ontario decide should be the boss
00:45:58.260 Well, speaking about being boxed around, let me just ask you this one here.
00:46:05.220 Like, this is point four, constitutionstudies.ca, when it comes to actually gaining independence from Confederation.
00:46:13.620 It says here, the House of Commons, this is point four in the steps of gaining independence from Confederation.
00:46:20.240 The House of Commons will decide if the majority vote in favor of separation is a clear expression of the will of Albertans to Canada.
00:46:28.260 So my question here is that it has to go through the House of Commons
00:46:33.960 and they have to agree that Alberta has given a clear expression?
00:46:39.960 I mean, and they can say no?
00:46:42.180 I think that's, I think, I call the Clarity Act, you know,
00:46:48.660 the Jean Chrétien Wishful Thinking Act, right?
00:46:51.860 Because I think the reality of it is...
00:46:55.960 no no no you got to come back here your your device was disconnected all right
00:47:01.420 so there he is hang on just a sec just a sec Jeff you just you you disconnected
00:47:06.020 for 30 seconds there so you were talking about no no you're good it's
00:47:11.900 just that you were in the middle of the Jean Chrétien wishful thinking act and
00:47:15.480 you kept going there so we lost about 20 seconds of what you were saying I want
00:47:19.200 you to go back in time if you can he's gone again well we'll just wait and get
00:47:25.580 back this is a very fascinating conversation and it would be a shame if if it ended now
00:47:31.220 okay there we go sorry so anyway no let me let me get back to that right so let's start off like
00:47:37.620 the clarity act was jean crazier's way of trying to cheat his way out of the secession reference
00:47:43.580 because the secession reference actually made it a hell of a lot easier right or you know didn't
00:47:48.440 have those stipulations in it the secession reference basically said that um you know if
00:47:54.080 If a province were to have a clear question, his Wi-Fi, that's what it is, would then have to be followed by a period of negotiation with Canada.
00:48:10.420 So the Parliament of Canada under Jean Chrétier then passed this clarity to try to clarify what the Supreme Court of Canada meant in the secession reference, right?
00:48:21.160 And put these additional super-added stipulations onto what would be required, including effectively trying to give the House of Commons a veto over whether or not a province could leave Canada, right?
00:48:35.280 And, of course, one of the interesting things that everybody forgets about the secession reference, right, is that the Supreme Court of Canada in the...
00:48:44.160 No, come on.
00:48:49.060 where were we the supreme court of canada hang on a minute
00:48:59.940 the spinning wheel of doom gone i can wait can you wait i can wait
00:49:17.300 because this is fascinating conversation and i think once people understand that this can happen
00:49:25.580 then maybe they'll start reconsidering their position because so many of us think well
00:49:31.580 i mean that's never going to be that's never going to happen and i've always said to you guys
00:49:36.760 all right so let's look at the boundary lines of any province or country for that matter and if you
00:49:44.140 look at them in a time capsulized kind of way over the last 150 years you're talking you're
00:49:50.280 you're amen your your wi-fi i'm trying to get back i'm here backstage but no you're you're there
00:49:56.020 you're good you're good okay good so anyway so i was talking about the secession reference and what
00:50:01.600 oh this is frustrating yeah it's your wi-fi yeah okay so this is session reference you
00:50:15.820 were talking about let's stay with that i wonder if cesis has a has an internet jammer
00:50:23.520 park somewhere near the ranch i wouldn't be surprised but anyway well can you hear me or
00:50:27.900 going yeah yeah we got you hello yep we're here we're here hello we're here we're here we can no
00:50:38.920 all right this is turning into a comedy act now where was i the boundary lines of countries
00:50:44.640 provinces states they've been redrawn for years and years and years and i point again to the
00:50:50.540 manitoba situation the postage stamp province when it first entered confederation grew twice
00:50:55.420 to the point where it's where it's at now right newfoundland did not join canada until 1949 these
00:51:03.040 things change all the time and they go through periods of stagnancy meaning it's staying the
00:51:08.220 same no movement static and then things start to move again all right so let's bring jeff back on
00:51:14.980 oh man you look blurry
00:51:16.980 oh yeah no we're right in the middle of a very important point i was talking about the
00:51:23.680 secession reference yes and the one thing that nobody wants to talk about is that the supreme
00:51:29.200 court of canada um expressly stated in the secession reference that they were not going to
00:51:34.640 rule on the issue of a unilateral declaration of independence right so um you know but you know my
00:51:43.680 you know the broader question is for canada and the world is if alberta has a referendum right
00:51:50.980 and if a clear majority of albertans vote to leave canada on a clear question right and the day
00:51:57.680 following that alberta declares its independence from canada and the independence of alberta from
00:52:04.360 canada is recognized by the united states what's canada going to do about it you know like as
00:52:11.580 president trump said last week you know mark carney's got to understand he doesn't have any
00:52:15.660 cards right like it's pretty you know it's pretty cut and dried at that point so the
00:52:21.360 comments can jump up and down all they want and go ahead you you said that you drafted
00:52:26.360 a clear question do you have it off the top of your head um i think i can find it in my i think
00:52:34.180 i could probably find it in my phone let me give me if you just give me one second i think i think
00:52:38.180 i know where it is i mean this is something that needs to be clear concise so that people get
00:52:44.020 exactly what they're voting for right and exactly now that was okay i've got it okay go ahead
00:52:51.300 i've got it right here so this is i'll read you the whole statute that i've drafted it is that
00:52:56.780 i've actually forwarded to various friends of mine who happen to be members of the legislative
00:53:00.000 assembly of alberta some of whom may actually have the guts to table as a private members
00:53:04.440 okay so so anyway so it's the title is the alberta independence referendum act preamble
00:53:12.180 Whereas excessive Canadian federal governments have exceeded their constitutional jurisdiction with overreach through property seizures, excessive taxation, and natural resource regulation aimed at the destruction of Alberta's autonomy and sovereignty, whereas the government of Alberta has been mandated by referendum to bring an end to the payment of equalization dollars to provinces of Canada who continually mismanage their public finances, the Alberta legislature hereby enacts the Alberta Independence Referendum Act.
00:53:40.000 Section 1. Within six months of any Canadian federal election, the government of Alberta shall call a provincial referendum on the independence of Alberta from Canada.
00:53:49.320 Two, the referendum question shall take the following form, quote, further to the overtaxation and unconstitutional overreach of successive governments of Canada aimed at harming the sovereign citizens of Alberta for the political benefit of successive governments of Canada, the citizens of Alberta vote to remove Alberta from the Canadian Federation and form an independent Commonwealth of Alberta.
00:54:12.100 Four, in furtherance of this legislation, pursuant to the Constitution of Canada, all federal provincial taxes in Alberta shall be collected by the government of Alberta.
00:54:21.680 Four, only such proportion of such taxes deemed by the government of Alberta to be for the common benefit of citizens of Alberta shall be remitted to the government of Canada.
00:54:30.160 So that's our proposed legislation.
00:54:31.460 You know, clear question, plus, you know, the, you know, something that Albertans have been screaming for for decades, which is that, henceforth, Alberta will collect all federal and provincial taxes in Alberta and will only remit to Canada, you know, such portion of those taxes that are deemed by the Alberta government to be reasonable.
00:54:49.420 So if this happens...
00:54:51.040 Instead of what we've been...
00:54:52.240 Sir, go ahead.
00:54:53.360 If this happens and you're able to get this referendum scheduled and it happens before December the 15th and the vote comes in, 51-52% in favor of independence, what happens after that?
00:55:08.980 Well, then there's going to be a declaration of independence of the Commonwealth of Alberta.
00:55:12.780 and i you know and part of part of the mission of the delegation to washington is you know
00:55:18.960 obviously our fellow citizens have a lot of questions that you know they want to answer
00:55:22.980 that a lot of them want to want to have answered and have to have answered in order to vote in
00:55:27.320 favor of independence right as an example what sort of fiscal and financial support you know
00:55:32.340 would the u.s government or the u.s treasury give to the independent commonwealth of alberta
00:55:37.340 you know as we transition away from the canadian dollar to the alberta dollar which would not be
00:55:43.700 fiat currency but the value of it would be based on the natural resource wealth of alberta which
00:55:49.000 is in the trillions of dollars right um would the u.s government be willing to float you know
00:55:54.560 a trillion dollar line of credit to get us over the hump on the understanding that we probably
00:55:59.060 would you know wouldn't need a fraction of that right to get to where we need to go um with the
00:56:03.640 U.S. government you know we're Albertans to move towards statehood be willing to you know to convert
00:56:09.180 all Alberta you know savings pensions etc into U.S. dollars at par you know would you know what
00:56:15.660 form of military alliance would the government of the United States like to see with the government
00:56:20.840 of Alberta I mean we see or the you know the Commonwealth of Alberta I mean we see it as
00:56:24.960 being pretty simple you know once we're no longer sending 80 billion dollars a year to the rest of
00:56:30.580 canada and alberta says look on the basis of the trillion and a half dollars that you owe us for
00:56:35.240 all of our previous equalization grabs that went to the rest of canada henceforth all canadian
00:56:40.220 military bases and military equipment in the province of alberta are now the property of the
00:56:44.580 commonwealth of alberta and the commonwealth of alberta shall uh you know or will agree to spend
00:56:51.180 three and a half four percent of its gdp per you know per annum um on military expenditures and the
00:56:57.860 great thing for alberta we don't have you know we don't have an ocean so we're not going to need a
00:57:01.060 navy we're not going to need marines all we're going to need is you know is a you know is a
00:57:05.020 capable army and um uh and air force which you know from an alberta perspective could easily
00:57:11.040 include 13 or 14 super water tanker bombers to fight forest fires all over the western you know
00:57:17.480 western north america right but we'd have our own air force and our own army and uh have that air
00:57:23.740 force and army fully integrated into the command structure of the u.s military i mean why wouldn't
00:57:29.000 we right i mean we have a strong not only a military alliance with the united states but
00:57:33.100 we could integrate our armed forces into the into the u.s chain of command you know so there's all
00:57:37.900 kinds of things that we can do on a going forward basis and what we want to do from a fact-finding
00:57:42.840 basis is to have you know very high level discussions with the trump administration
00:57:47.940 in terms of what the u.s government would be prepared to you know the u.s administration
00:57:52.900 would be prepared to support on a going forward basis in support of alberta's self-determination
00:57:59.460 and and you know you know the ongoing chinese interference in alberta oil production energy
00:58:06.080 production and north american security of energy supply right and you know so we think there's a
00:58:11.000 very strong case for it and getting back to our original discussion you know if you take everything
00:58:15.260 that jd vance said um you know about greenland and replace the word denmark with the word canada
00:58:20.940 and replace the word Greenland with the word Alberta,
00:58:23.900 we see that there's a very strong case going forward
00:58:26.540 for Alberta independence and certainly for those Albertans.
00:58:29.800 And there's quite a few of them within the independence movement
00:58:31.920 that are interested in pursuing U.S. statehood.
00:58:36.180 Again, let's first get Alberta into a position of independence.
00:58:40.560 We'd use the Texas Constitution as a model, right? 0.89
00:58:43.540 Because that's the route that Texas took.
00:58:45.800 It first became an independent republic rather than a commonwealth,
00:58:49.960 but an independent republic with its own president with an eye towards you know future adhesion to
00:58:55.620 the united states of america and part of the texas constitution includes the ability to vote
00:59:00.500 themselves out of the united states of america should they wish to do so so you know i think
00:59:05.240 for those people that are interested in pursuing full statehood um uh you know that uh you know
00:59:11.060 that that's a model that could easily be followed and obviously even within our group you know
00:59:15.160 there's there's a there's a group that have had the benefit or members of our group that have had
00:59:19.600 the benefit of actually having direct discussions with sarah palin the former governor of alaska
00:59:24.400 who said oh you gotta understand like you know alaska statehood wasn't really a close to done
00:59:29.540 thing there are a lot of people in alaska they go like what do we want to join the united states
00:59:33.860 for as a state as a territory we don't have to we don't have to pay federal income tax
00:59:38.920 why who cares about voting for congressmen and voting having senators and voting for president
00:59:44.180 we just don't want to pay any federal income tax so i mean you know apparently alaska becoming
00:59:49.520 the state was a very you know was a was a very fraught uh you know was a very fraught discussion
00:59:54.440 and it may well be that you know we have you know independent commonwealth of alberta we could have
00:59:59.500 you know the independent commonwealth of alberta as a territory of the united states
01:00:03.620 in the commonwealth of alberta you know as a as a state within the united states like the
01:00:08.900 commonwealth of massachusetts or the commonwealth of virginia um all of these options are open but
01:00:13.960 the great thing about it is finally Albertans will have a choice adult Albertans for the first
01:00:19.560 time ever in their lives are going to have the ability to express clearly in a democratic fashion
01:00:24.980 whether they want to continue to take it in the teeth from Ottawa you know on an ongoing basis
01:00:30.320 and have people that despise our culture hate our oil hate the fact that we're industrious
01:00:35.720 hard-working people that resent you know resent the fact that the government of Canada is
01:00:41.100 constantly trying to undermine the work ethic of our children with enhanced ui benefits um uh 0.58
01:00:47.540 universal um you know universal basic income legalized marijuana you know and all this crap
01:00:53.760 that's hurt our kids so badly in this province um you know we're gonna have the opportunity to say
01:00:59.260 no we don't want to be part of that anymore all we all we care about as albertans and within the
01:01:04.160 culture of alberta is being able to work hard take care of our kids keep the taxes as low as possible
01:01:09.800 so we can afford to spend our money on our families the way that we want to spend our money on our families.
01:01:15.540 And by the way, we want the government to stay the hell out of our lives
01:01:19.140 and not tell us how many friends we're allowed to have, when we can leave our house, 0.97
01:01:22.920 you know, that we can't get on airplanes without being vaccinated, you know, and all this other bullshit. 0.68
01:01:27.640 And I'll use the word, right, because that's a very Albertan technical term, you know, 0.93
01:01:31.620 that we've been living with, you know, under the Chinese communist regime
01:01:36.020 that's been governing Ottawa for the last 10 years.
01:01:38.120 You are going to have some significant pushback from the Marxists, the Nahid Nenshis and the Jodi Gondeks, as you referenced earlier in our discussion.
01:01:48.840 And as you say, they're quite capable of mounting a campaign because they've got all the unions.
01:01:54.520 They've got all of those contacts and they can mobilize them very, very quickly.
01:01:59.080 So how do you push back on that?
01:02:03.180 Yeah. So how do you push back on all of this?
01:02:05.780 I mean, you've got 37 percent right now to get it up over 50 because they're going to be pushing back on you.
01:02:11.340 You've got to get it up over 50.
01:02:13.200 What are the plans?
01:02:14.200 Massive marketing?
01:02:15.400 I think a lot.
01:02:16.720 Well, yeah.
01:02:17.600 And I think the unions need to remember that a lot of their members saw them for who they were during COVID.
01:02:23.280 Right.
01:02:23.960 You know, and that's specifically, you know, union members that didn't want to get vaccinated were told, oh, we're not going to pursue your grievance. 0.94
01:02:30.720 Screw you. 0.90
01:02:31.440 Oh, you're being fired for that. 1.00
01:02:32.700 Well, that's too bad.
01:02:33.380 That's not a union issue anymore.
01:02:34.800 you know all those types of things i mean the union bosses in alberta showed their 0.99
01:02:38.540 true colors as the filthy communists that they are that don't give a crap about their their 0.97
01:02:44.100 members that only care about the globalist agenda and that they're there to serve right and you know 0.98
01:02:50.420 a lot of union members if you said hey you know what you got a really nice union job you're a
01:02:54.740 union nurse or you're a union teacher you're a unionist or a union that um you don't have to
01:03:00.120 tell anybody but hey would you vote for increasing your take-home pay by 50 percent by getting rid
01:03:06.520 of all federal taxes right you know but you know you don't have to tell anybody you're going to
01:03:10.580 vote for independence but if you did vote for independence do you realize that every time you
01:03:14.940 want to fill up your car or truck um you know to go to work you're going to be paid 80 cents a
01:03:18.700 liter for gas instead of instead of a buck 60 you know it's just like you know trump found
01:03:23.880 you know during his election right the union leadership may say one thing but you know once
01:03:29.880 the average union member goes into the ballot box you know they're you know the union bosses can't
01:03:35.820 make them vote against their own economic interests right so you know i don't think that this thing is
01:03:42.300 you know that this thing is as tough um you know as everybody makes it out to be and certainly
01:03:47.260 you know we'll see right i mean you know i've fought you know i've i've certainly fought tougher
01:03:52.480 cases over the years i mean everybody thought it was absolutely nuts to think that i could have
01:03:58.000 every single covid order in the province of alberta issued by dean hinshaw declared illegal
01:04:02.800 but i pulled that rabbit out of my hat so i mean if i can pull this one off this will be the
01:04:07.020 highlight of my career you you said earlier and so now we got people watching this from all over
01:04:12.800 the country right and some are going to be pretty concerned because alberta's leaving and you know
01:04:17.880 it's an emotional thing too you know they see canada on a map they see the way it looks and
01:04:22.600 then all of a sudden it's you know one of the pieces of the puzzle is missing but we talked
01:04:26.700 about this this afternoon on the phone we talked about canada's gdp in 2023 it was 2.17 trillion
01:04:32.780 dollars and you told me that alberta was 27 percent of 26 26 so that that makes it worth
01:04:42.000 450 maybe 500 billion dollars you take that kind of money out of the canadian economy
01:04:48.960 and we're talking about disaster i mean they're worried about these trump tariffs never mind and
01:04:55.820 that's 200 billion never mind 500 billion it would be devastating for the rest of the country
01:05:00.980 yeah but you know what i think it'd be a good you know i think the rest the rest of canada should
01:05:05.860 be sending us thank you notes right because look at the bloated federal bureaucracy right i mean
01:05:10.600 the federal budget all but doubled under trudeau right increased the size of the civil service by
01:05:15.460 almost 100 percent you know and we're supposed to be living in this wonderful age of automation
01:05:20.280 you know that's going to make so many bureaucrats obsolete so tell me how the hell we doubled them
01:05:24.820 during covid at the same time that ai is increasing and we're getting all this new computing power
01:05:29.320 right so we've doubled our bureaucrats um on top of it you know provinces like quebec and
01:05:35.560 new brunswick have massive gas reserves nova scotia has a massive offshore gas reserve that
01:05:42.200 could be tapped if they were freed up from some of the federal regulations that have prevented them
01:05:46.240 from developing it you know i mean you know but instead and this is what is so irritating to so
01:05:51.380 many albertans instead of developing their own natural gas resources they want to suck alberta
01:05:56.760 dry of everything we have right well doing nothing to develop their own resources in their own
01:06:02.120 province and create jobs in their provinces instead you know they take 10 15 20 billion
01:06:07.040 dollars a year from alberta this is you know talking about quebec specifically for gold-plated
01:06:11.360 social service programs that albertans would dream of like oh you want to be a tradesman
01:06:16.240 oh then all you have to do is go to trade school the quebec government will not only pay for you
01:06:20.580 to go to trade school you know they'll pay you a salary when you go to trade school you know of
01:06:24.920 course the quebec government isn't paying for that the citizens of alberta are you know don't
01:06:29.040 you think we'd like our kids to be get paid a salary to go to trade school instead of quebec
01:06:34.000 you know this is these are the types of things that drive albertans wild right so you know i
01:06:39.260 mean you know i mean that's you know that's the problem as we talk about alberta all the other
01:06:44.940 provinces are going to have to sure they're going to have to buckle down and they're going to have
01:06:48.360 to you know address a lot of the problems within you know within canada that they've been refusing
01:06:54.680 to address because alberta's been subsidizing the whole show as we you know talk about alberta i
01:07:00.260 mean the way the chips fall here you know alberta obviously natural resources leading province
01:07:07.000 economically by a mile uh you got saskatchewan right next and saskatchewan is replete with
01:07:13.500 uranium rare earth potash potash a lot of oil and gas in saskatchewan as well i i don't see it as
01:07:22.280 too big a leap to suggest that saskatchewan would be joining you guys uh in no well you know and
01:07:27.880 again we're we're in contact with groups in saskatchewan and we're very supportive of them
01:07:32.360 right and um you know every we've all you know agreed you know between you know between us that
01:07:38.700 you know and there's even a form of app in saskatchewan you know as well that have been
01:07:42.480 modeling themselves on what we've been doing from an educational perspective in alberta um you know
01:07:46.860 that we cooperate with and you know what you know we all understand that each province has to have
01:07:51.960 according to the succession reference has to have its own referendum but i'm i'm sure you're right
01:07:57.080 i mean if alberta votes itself out and you know saskatchewan can see within a year you know how
01:08:02.940 much better off the province of alberta is i mean saskatchewan can easily be just as self-sufficient
01:08:08.200 I mean, they're one of the largest cereal, you know, they are the largest cereal grain producer in the world.
01:08:13.280 They have the world's largest potash deposits.
01:08:15.480 They have the largest deposits of high-grade uranium in the world.
01:08:19.680 You know, and let's not forget Saskatchewan has substantial oil and gas, you know, resources and reserves as well.
01:08:25.500 I mean, they're not quite, you know, the size of Alberta because of the way that, you know, things got laid down on the Western Basin.
01:08:31.420 But they have substantial oil and gas resources.
01:08:34.440 and a lot of people in saskatchewan feel the same way um you know as the citizens of alberta
01:08:39.800 you know that they're not understood by ottawa they're completely taken for granted and here's
01:08:44.500 a perfect example right so when doug ford stupidly suggested he's going to cut off alberta oil to 0.80
01:08:49.860 teach the united states a lesson and then when somebody pointed out that oh doug you're going 0.98
01:08:53.700 to be cutting off your own oil oh okay so we can't do that let's cut off let's cut off saskatchewan 0.75
01:08:59.680 potash we're not going to give the americans any more fertilizer right so did you notice that doug
01:09:05.040 ford never said we're going to teach you americans a lesson on the integration of the north american
01:09:11.120 auto industry i'm going to shut down all the parts manufacturing plants in ontario for four days to
01:09:18.040 watch the supply chains across north america you know canada mexico and the united states crumble
01:09:22.960 to teach you a lesson on you know integration of our industry and how harmful these tariffs are
01:09:28.320 going to be no no no of course not you know he's from ontario he's from toronto he's fancies himself
01:09:35.000 one of our colonial masters right who can you know who can dictate you know the secession of 1.00
01:09:41.540 our economies for the benefit of his economy you know and it's that stupidity that drives western 1.00
01:09:48.400 canadians crazy um so this is interesting today donald trump or was this last night donald trump 1.00
01:09:58.240 said that larger tariffs... I'm going to throw this up
01:10:00.220 on the screen here. This is funny as we talk about
01:10:02.220 this trade war that
01:10:03.900 is happening between Canada and the United States.
01:10:06.640 I guess Donald Trump
01:10:08.200 spoke with Mark Carney this morning
01:10:10.120 and the way Mark Carney was talking, it's like he's already
01:10:12.280 been elected prime minister, but
01:10:13.620 anyway, Trump said
01:10:16.260 yesterday larger tariffs
01:10:18.420 would be placed on the European Union
01:10:20.220 and Canada if they work together
01:10:22.400 Canada and European Union
01:10:24.140 to do economic harm
01:10:26.080 to the United States.
01:10:28.240 He knows that Carney went to Europe last week instead of going down to see him in the United States, obviously.
01:10:34.680 And he's taking preemptive action before Carney and the European Union can come up with a plan.
01:10:41.660 He still leads in the polls.
01:10:43.540 Do you feel like if Carney wins this election, then your membership is going to skyrocket into the millions?
01:10:53.460 Oh, we're confident of it.
01:10:55.500 You know, in fact, you know, God bless him.
01:10:57.820 I have a brother who lives in Ottawa who told me the other day that he might
01:11:02.800 be voting for Mark Carney. And I said, Hey, I'm, you know, I said,
01:11:06.240 I'm thrilled with that. You're thrilled. Yeah. I said,
01:11:09.180 I'm really happy that that you're going to vote Alberta out of Canada.
01:11:12.740 I said, that's what I've been working for for the last five years.
01:11:15.020 So I said,
01:11:15.880 I'm thrilled that Ontario is finally going to tell Alberta once and for all
01:11:19.200 that we don't belong in Canada and we need to get the hell out. So, you know,
01:11:22.680 as far as I'm concerned,
01:11:23.440 every vote in ontario uh for mark harney is a vote to end canada i mean like you know it's because
01:11:29.960 you know people in alberta feel that strongly about another potential five years of liberal
01:11:35.080 misrule um that that'll be this literally the straw that broke the camel's back you know so
01:11:40.740 you know and again like you know and again getting back to our you know uh you know our
01:11:44.640 saskatchewan discussion potentially western manitoba who knows about you know basically
01:11:49.120 all of british columbia if you drew a line down the you know the the continental divide and took
01:11:55.520 all of um uh eastern british columbia including uh you know the okanagan northeastern bc all the
01:12:02.540 rest of it you know most of them would vote to separate as well or would vote for independence
01:12:07.020 as well from you know from the communist lower mainland right um yeah but you know but you know
01:12:12.460 literally you know you have to look at you know strategically and i'm sure that the trump
01:12:16.080 administration is well aware of this right they see canada as a jenga tower right and the one
01:12:22.000 block that you need to pull out to have the whole tower collapse is alberta right yeah and that's
01:12:27.780 literally what you know what the liberals have created you know and whether this was part you
01:12:32.020 know and whether this was the goal of the communist chinese that were running justin trudeau
01:12:36.100 who knows i mean maybe you know maybe the communist chinese wanted canada to break up
01:12:40.180 but i mean certainly all the policies that trudeau brought in and all the party you know all the
01:12:45.220 policies that the liberal government has brought in and the carnies threatening to bring in in
01:12:49.340 spades um you know will cause the demise of canada you know nobody in alberta nobody in alberta like
01:12:55.980 people daniel smith you know was sort of going along do to do to do oh yeah you know people are
01:13:00.720 suggesting that you know in 10 years or 20 years alberta can have a population of 10 million
01:13:04.840 people in this province said what right nobody's consulted with us right what would that do to our
01:13:11.540 culture what would that do to our province it's not sustainable from an environmental perspective
01:13:16.820 right and of course you haven't heard that from her since after the human cry that arose but i
01:13:21.440 mean that's what you know that's what uh mark carney's top advisors want to do they want
01:13:26.360 canada's population to be 100 million you know within you know within a very short period of
01:13:31.200 time and they're basically going to do it by taking a shovel a snow shovel scraping up the 0.92
01:13:35.900 third world putting it in a shoebox and shaking it over canada it's insane you're right no so let
01:13:41.360 me ask you this then so the last time that there was this kind of noise about alberta separation
01:13:47.900 you're right they formed a reform party they were getting sick and tired of being left out of things
01:13:52.020 and so can alberta wants in reform party is born preston manning it morphs then into the canadian
01:13:57.720 alliance uh and i i believe the noise in those years about alberta independence was about the
01:14:05.340 same um but then stephen harper won and the conservative party of canada came to power for
01:14:12.360 10 years and during that time these concerns were quelled silenced and now they're loud again after
01:14:21.220 10 years of trudeau but what happens if if polyev wins let's just say the polls are all wrong and
01:14:26.460 i think they are anyway polyev wins the conservatives are in power would it be tougher
01:14:31.600 then for alberta independence to move forward i mean honestly and frankly i think so right but
01:14:38.460 that having been said it's going to be tougher but i still think we can get it done because
01:14:43.200 and i'll tell you why so if you look at um uh daniel smith's list of um you know list of demands i
01:14:49.140 can pull that up you know um i can pull that up on my phone just give me a second now we've got
01:14:53.020 we've covered that already that and and i said the other day man she's not she's playing hardball
01:14:57.540 do you have any insight that you can kind of give us a hint on is is she down there negotiating with
01:15:03.960 these guys on behalf of alberta perhaps no no are you talking with the united states or with uh with
01:15:09.540 uh with carney and uh paul yeah i'm talking about alberta danielle smith i mean she was just down
01:15:15.280 there with ben shapiro doing a thing yesterday oh yeah no that's a different issue that's like
01:15:19.420 that's daniel smith you know doing what we always knew that president trump was going to do which
01:15:24.340 is to have zero tariffs on alberto oil because he can't accomplish his economic goals of lowering
01:15:29.820 inflation and lowering food you know of fuel prices in the united states to the benefit of
01:15:34.400 his base if he slaps a 10 tariff on alberto oil right it's you know it's counterproductive so
01:15:40.280 anybody that knew anything about you know economics and economic policy knew that the oil
01:15:46.060 tariff was never going to hold right um you know manufacturing different story obviously the dairy
01:15:52.920 industry is a major irritant for president trump and you know and softwood lumber is another major
01:15:59.420 irritant and of course instead of you know um you know british columbia and other provinces saying
01:16:04.300 okay president trump you know what would you like to see our stumpage rate set at right so that you
01:16:09.920 feel that canadian lumber is not being unfairly subsidized or given for free to our forestry
01:16:14.660 companies who can then dump it in the u.s and crush you know competition in the u.s what level
01:16:19.640 of you know stumpage or tax you know would you like us to put on stumpage so that we could then
01:16:24.160 put that money into health care or whatever else we'll do that no no no that's going to be a hill
01:16:28.340 we die on because you know canada basically being a quasi i call i think canada is a quasi democratic
01:16:34.180 oligarchy right where the forestry companies have their bought politicians the dairy industry has
01:16:39.120 their bought politicians you know whatever it is you know like oh no absolutely not that's you know 0.92
01:16:44.540 will kill the entire will kill the entire national economy fighting a tariff war over stumpage and 1.00
01:16:51.480 dairy i mean how stupid is that right and let's focus on dairy for one second right supply 0.99
01:16:59.180 management is should not only be a major irritant to president trump but it should every canadian i 0.99
01:17:05.000 don't think they really understand that their milk uh butter and um uh you know cheese and dairy
01:17:12.000 products eggs all the rest of it literally cost 400 percent more than they should because of an
01:17:18.020 illegal what would otherwise be an illegal price fixing scheme run through a government authorized
01:17:23.220 monopoly through legislation right so every think about every indigenous family you know on uh you
01:17:29.800 know indigenous land across canada you know having to pay 400 percent more for you know eggs and milk
01:17:34.940 and cheese than they should every single mother in canada you know every you know every working
01:17:39.500 family in canada that's paying 400 percent more for milk for their kids than they should have to
01:17:43.820 you know all thanks to supply management that's not for the benefit of the canadian public as a
01:17:49.100 whole but for the you know for the benefit of you know certain very wealthy license holders
01:17:54.060 that benefit very well from the present regime right and look at the dairy farmers in quebec
01:17:59.180 and you know all across the country even having to dump out thousands of gallons of milk and
01:18:04.860 it's despicable you know it's completely you know and it completely flies in the face of
01:18:10.620 canadian values right so you know i mean you know and what we're going to crater the national economy
01:18:16.560 elbows up canada and we're going to have a war with the united states so that we can continue
01:18:21.780 to overcharge single moms for milk that's what canadian values are now that we're fighting over 0.96
01:18:27.260 and we're going to boo the national anthem of the united states because god damn it it's our 0.74
01:18:32.360 national right to overcharge women for milk it happened it happened yesterday in toronto at the 0.96
01:18:39.400 blue jays home opener the blue jay like at skydome roger's place whatever they call it they were
01:18:45.000 booing the u.s national anthem there what a national disgrace that is it is i want to send
01:18:50.380 out a challenge to all of my fellow um independent you know independence movement supporters and
01:18:56.400 independent albertans i was out last night at a sporting event and the canadian national anthem
01:19:01.440 came on and reflexively like everybody else and i was wearing my cowboy hat i was about to take my
01:19:06.080 cowboy hat off and hold it over my heart and prepared to stand for the anthem and then i
01:19:10.180 literally turned to a friend of mine you know next to me i said screw this i'm done with this 1.00
01:19:15.240 shit i'm not canadian anymore i'm not standing for their goddamn anthem they've done nothing for 0.99
01:19:20.460 us other than screw us over 16 ways to sunday i'm not doing it anymore you know so from now on i 0.99
01:19:27.040 I would like every Albertan at every Oilers game, every Flames game,
01:19:31.440 instead of thinking about booing the national anthem,
01:19:34.160 examine your conscience and ask you whether you should be standing
01:19:37.400 for the Canadian anthem anymore,
01:19:39.320 other than out of reflex for something that's long gone in this country,
01:19:44.020 which were Canadian values, which no longer exist.
01:19:47.300 That's a very interesting point.
01:19:49.140 And this brings me to my last question of the night,
01:19:51.580 and we talked about this on the phone.
01:19:53.560 Anthems are very important.
01:19:54.920 what would be the Alberta
01:19:57.080 national anthem?
01:19:58.700 I've already facetiously suggested to you
01:20:01.280 that for me it's the rodeo song
01:20:03.200 but I don't think we can go there
01:20:04.860 the edited version
01:20:06.220 the edited version of the rodeo song
01:20:08.460 which is just a long series of leaps
01:20:10.440 but no I mean
01:20:12.640 well obviously you know
01:20:13.440 Alberta Bound I think by
01:20:15.960 Ian and Sylvia is as good as any
01:20:18.500 if you want a patriotic Alberta song
01:20:21.540 there you go
01:20:22.180 and quite frankly I think that if Alberta
01:20:24.440 secures its independence from canada there's going to be conservatives all over canada that
01:20:28.920 are that will be alberta bound you know and leaving their provinces and taking their wealth
01:20:33.320 with them and moving to alberta to enjoy the prosperity of alberta and you know albertans
01:20:38.160 have always welcomed any hard-working people that want to come here and roll up their sleeves and
01:20:42.260 contribute to our yeah you know that's that's something interesting too i think like when i
01:20:46.660 asked you earlier what happens after you know the day after alberta gains its sovereignty becomes an
01:20:52.440 independent nation um so do all the lefties marxists do they go ah i'm not staying here
01:21:04.480 anymore do they leave over time and we'll be but no and this is all in all seriousness because this
01:21:11.900 is something people worry about okay the canadian the canadian state has never recognized the
01:21:17.700 renunciation of canadian citizenship so people that are really attached to their canadian
01:21:21.980 citizenship right i'm not anymore but a lot of people still are and you'll remain a canadian
01:21:27.340 citizen right um you know so you know you can stay in alberta and continue to work with the
01:21:33.060 rest of us shoulder to shoulder and you can be a citizen of alberta and a citizen of canada
01:21:36.960 and for those canadian citizens that don't want to roll up their sleeves and be part of the
01:21:42.240 independent commonwealth of alberta you know hey there's lots of canada left for you to live in
01:21:46.940 probably don't move to saskatchewan because saskatchewan will be joining us really soon
01:21:50.960 you'll have to move again but you know i mean you know i mean i think ontario may well end up being
01:21:55.600 the last bastion of canada so that might be a good place for you to go it's probably where you came
01:21:59.180 from anyway so you know i love my fellow albertans and i'm not i'm not bigoted in any way but you
01:22:10.300 know for people that don't respect our values that really think that somehow or other everything
01:22:16.900 that's been done to us by the federal government you know over you know over the last hundred years
01:22:21.480 is perfectly acceptable you know maybe you should question yourself and ask you you know
01:22:26.780 you know ask yourself whether you know with that's with those types of values whether you
01:22:31.120 really belong in alberta anyway jeff thank you for coming on tonight man i really appreciate
01:22:36.080 you taking the time here on a friday night uh albertaprosperityproject.com you can go to the
01:22:41.760 website yeah and and sign up there absolutely and you know we're really welcoming new members
01:22:48.120 lots of people have been phoning my office and and asking you know what can we do to help and
01:22:52.280 what can we do to support um your work you know the first thing i tell everybody please join the
01:22:57.480 app and because we're in a political organization i of course cannot i repeat cannot say and also
01:23:03.640 buy a membership to the ucp but i can you know buy a membership to the ucp
01:23:08.880 i i'm not apolitical
01:23:12.500 while you're buying your app membership go ahead and buy your ucp membership also
01:23:19.740 shadow god bless you thank you for having me on thank you brother have a great weekend
01:23:23.940 okay all right you guys hang in i'm going to be back in 30 seconds i have more for you
01:23:33.640 Thank you.
01:24:03.640 Hello. This was Mark Carney yesterday. Remember this?
01:24:08.360 Our biggest challenge as a country is becoming the most urgent.
01:24:12.560 Over the coming weeks, months, and years, we must fundamentally reimagine our economy.
01:24:20.460 We will need to ensure that Canada can succeed in a drastically different world.
01:24:27.320 The old relationship we had with the United States,
01:24:30.160 based on deepening integration of our economies
01:24:32.780 and tight security and military cooperation is over.
01:24:38.860 What exactly the United States does next is unclear.
01:24:43.240 But what is clear, what is clear,
01:24:46.400 is that we as Canadians have agency.
01:24:50.100 We have power.
01:24:52.360 We are masters in our own home.
01:24:55.840 All right, so I'm going to stop it there.
01:24:57.280 the long-standing relationship between canada and the united states is over does this man not
01:25:05.640 understand that he is in name i suppose but in reality as well he's the prime minister of this
01:25:14.400 country unelected or not so when he speaks that way is that new public policy is he even allowed
01:25:23.220 to say that or is it just some election promise that he's throwing out there in hopes of gaining
01:25:29.380 votes this i don't understand he also suggests that canada can stand on its own two feet
01:25:39.620 presumably without the united states because he just said that partnership that long-standing
01:25:44.500 decades-long partnership is over with so how do we defend ourselves without being partners
01:25:51.700 with the united states how do we defend our natural resources our land our people from 0.74
01:25:58.780 russia from china from any military power in the world without the help and partnership
01:26:05.020 of the united states our military is in shambles it's small it may have some very dedicated
01:26:15.220 members but there's no way that the canadian we don't have an icebreaker we cannot patrol
01:26:23.000 our northern borders we can't go up there we don't know what's up there the americans know
01:26:29.960 what's up there but what if trump says all right if that's the way you feel then let's just shut
01:26:34.720 her down you guys go ahead and take care of yourselves let's see how that works out for you
01:26:39.400 is that why Carney was over in Europe was he over there maybe forming some kind of military
01:26:46.260 partnership and then Trump comes up and says oh and by the way if I catch you guys uh colluding
01:26:52.140 to do the U.S. economic harm the tariffs are going to get worse on both of you
01:26:57.760 Trump understands what's going on now Mark Carney claims to have spoken to Donald Trump
01:27:06.260 this morning at trump's behest and here's what he had to say the president and i had a very
01:27:11.940 constructive very productive discussion uh... this morning uh... we've made progress it's the
01:27:18.900 beginning of negotiations uh... we will have comprehensive discussions of the broader economic
01:27:25.140 partnership after the federal election um... but this is the start of uh... negotiations uh... we
01:27:33.700 We will see what the United States does on the 2nd of April.
01:27:37.040 It is still the case, of course, that there are tariffs on a number of other Canadian goods.
01:27:47.640 If this guy wins, I'm moving to Alberta,
01:27:51.500 where I will join the Alberta Prosperity Project and become a member of the UCP.
01:27:59.880 Here's what Pierre Polyev had to say regarding Donald Trump today.
01:28:03.700 there is a change in tone. We want to put an end to this crazy tariff chaos. We have
01:28:12.940 the best trading relationship in the history of the world. Why not continue and grow that
01:28:18.420 trading relationship as two separate sovereign nations? My message to President Trump is
01:28:24.760 that true free trade without tariffs will allow both of our economies to separately grow
01:28:32.300 stronger so that we can fund stronger militaries and more secure borders and make our continent
01:28:40.820 safe against the real risks from overseas that's the goal that we should all be working towards
01:28:48.240 and my goal will be to make canada regardless of what the americans do we've this has all been a
01:28:55.040 wake-up call for us. By blocking pipelines and LNG plants and slow-rolling resource projects,
01:29:02.880 capping our oil and gas sector, the Liberals have made us too reliant on the Americans.
01:29:08.900 That will end. My government will repeal the entire carbon tax, the energy cap,
01:29:15.480 the anti-pipeline law, C-69. We will bring the hundreds of billions of dollars back to our
01:29:21.240 economy, and we will start selling between Canadians and overseas so that we are stronger,
01:29:27.480 self-reliant, sovereign, to stand on our own two feet and stand up to the Americans.
01:29:33.160 In other words, let's bring home the country that we knew and the country that we still love.
01:29:37.960 Well, it's clear that the president would like to keep the liberals in power.
01:29:41.980 They've been very good for his agenda.
01:29:43.920 He wants to take our money and our jobs, and liberals have helped him do it.
01:29:48.340 They've blocked pipelines, LNG plants, they've raised taxes.
01:29:52.660 Mr. Carney wants a massive tax on our Canadian industry that will drive jobs south of the border.
01:30:00.400 Mark Carney and Donald Trump have one thing in common.
01:30:03.380 They both favor taxing Canadian industry.
01:30:06.440 Trump with tariffs and Carney with carbon taxes.
01:30:09.880 And obviously that will send hundreds of thousands more jobs south of the border into the arms of the Americans.
01:30:16.820 so by contrast though Canadians will have to decide after the lost liberal decade do you want
01:30:25.200 to give the liberals a fourth term of driving up costs and crime driving our economy down under
01:30:32.320 the American thumb or is it time to put Canada first for a change with a new conservative
01:30:37.720 government that will axe taxes green light our resources bring home our jobs so that we can
01:30:43.840 stand up to the Americans from a position of strength.
01:30:48.440 I have a message for Pierre Polyev.
01:30:51.120 Pierre, here it is.
01:30:52.680 Please stop speaking in slogans.
01:30:56.740 You've got commercials running on radio, TV, social media, all across the Internet.
01:31:02.480 You do not need to repeat the slogans.
01:31:05.120 What you need to do right now is be real.
01:31:08.580 what you need to do right now is appear on a dozen canadian independent podcasts and i'm hoping that
01:31:18.680 you would pick this one to come on sit down for a couple of hours just talk tell people how you
01:31:25.600 really feel about things and explain yourself i would be absolutely willing to have you on this
01:31:32.040 show, we can dive deep into all kinds of things, I think it would only help you. Speaking in
01:31:39.160 slogans behind podiums at press conferences every single day is not the answer. I think you're on
01:31:47.580 the right track when it comes to the rallies that you've been doing, though. Surrey, British Columbia
01:31:52.800 yesterday, I understand there was 4,000 people there, which is great considering that area is
01:31:57.960 generally liberal or NDP. Same thing in Hamilton the other day, where there was 4,000, maybe even
01:32:03.200 5,000 people at a Pierre Polyev rally. Again, this is a notorious red or orange area. Not at all blue.
01:32:10.720 But to get 4,000 people or 5,000 people to come out in Hamilton for a conservative,
01:32:15.000 that's something. So maybe these polls are wrong. Maybe Pierre does win. But I think he's going to
01:32:22.060 have to start coming out harder. He's going to have to get more real. He's going to have to start
01:32:26.560 doing Canadian shows. Shows like this one. Pierre Polyev will be in Winnipeg tomorrow,
01:32:35.560 news conference and rally at 3.30 in the afternoon. So if you're in the Winnipeg area and you want to
01:32:41.540 go and check it out, and I'm going to this myself and I'll tell you why. Not necessarily for Pierre
01:32:45.760 Polyev, just to see what the crowd is like. It's at Unit 101B, 1821 Wellington Avenue, 3.30 tomorrow
01:32:55.100 afternoon interestingly i don't know what that is i tried to look it up on a map today and i thought
01:33:01.860 okay it's one of those hotels near the airport and it may be but unit 101b 1821 wellington avenue
01:33:11.540 i i don't know i mean this city i was born and raised in i used to know it like the back of my
01:33:19.920 hand and i don't know what that is so hopefully it's got enough room for four or five thousand
01:33:25.440 people i told you guys yesterday by the way we do have an extension tonight i promised you all
01:33:32.580 access members a few weeks ago i remember doing this that we were going to sit down and start
01:33:37.620 the series europa the last battle and that's what we're going to do in the extension tonight part
01:33:43.140 one this was a series a revisionist history if you will that that came out in 2017 and it explores
01:33:51.340 world war ii and all kinds of things that we thought happened that maybe never happened
01:33:57.720 it's very interesting look at things and it's already been rejected by the uh let me see here
01:34:03.200 the apl so for hateful ideology so you know that we're on the right track
01:34:09.660 we're gonna do that in the extension tonight anyway yesterday i told you that i put something
01:34:17.100 on x that says maxime bernier needs to step aside right now we're at defcon one
01:34:23.020 we need all conservative minded common sense people in this country to vote for the only
01:34:29.000 party that can win the election now i got lambasted on x last night overnight this morning 0.59
01:34:36.200 and probably even now i'm still getting a lot of hate from let's call them ppc robots
01:34:42.700 i don't believe that half of the people or things on x today who were harassing me calling me out
01:34:51.660 calling me a conservative shill calling me a traitor whatever else they called me i don't
01:34:57.480 believe half of them were real but the behavior of the ones that were the ones that i tried to
01:35:03.660 speak to reprehensible to me they came across like antifa but instead of the left-wing marxist
01:35:12.260 antifa this was the online hateful right-wing version of antifa where they they try to isolate
01:35:19.440 you and then gang up on you pile on as it were and it's like what are you guys doing
01:35:25.320 you're just a shoe for the best and i just thought oh this is funny right i wasn't intimidated by it
01:35:33.480 at all i was disappointed by some of the ppc guys i know who got involved in that viva fry was one
01:35:41.300 of them i was disappointed i didn't hear from him today by the way after yesterday him inviting me
01:35:46.200 on a podcast to debate maxime bernier i didn't hear from him at all today so maybe he understands
01:35:52.840 what my position is after watching one of my shows i have no idea but my position has always
01:35:58.820 been and you guys understand this you've been with me a long time i've been very consistent on this
01:36:03.220 i've always said i think the ppc policies are great i identify with them more than any other 1.00
01:36:10.460 party in this country but they can't win and we have to get rid of the marxists if we don't get 0.91
01:36:19.060 rid of the liberal party and mark carney wins this election we're screwed you guys have been 1.00
01:36:26.600 asking me to bring somebody onto the show and so i reached out today and he said yes and here's a
01:36:34.040 clip of his show which is called the full clip what happened after the election of 2019 is instead of
01:36:40.540 it being a party of many not a party of one everything seemed to start to revolve around
01:36:45.700 the personality of max and if you had questions about the ppc you were attacking bernier you're
01:36:52.900 undermining his leadership and that's kind of how everything was framed is that is that fair
01:36:57.860 is that your experience you know what i i think that's how it was uh after 2019 um and then with
01:37:06.460 the hard work of of some of the the candidates at that time myself included this is when max brought
01:37:13.660 forward the the lieutenant role where we would be that sort of that conduit or that spokesperson
01:37:19.260 for certain areas uh you had one for atlantic canada you had one for quebec specifically
01:37:25.440 and one for ontario specifically and then of course i had from thunder bay all the way to
01:37:30.740 vancouver island and all of the northwest territories so people were to come to us and
01:37:36.260 And I think that was a way of sort of showing that this wasn't a one-man role where everybody could go to max, right?
01:37:48.220 And that was the answer.
01:37:50.840 And I think it worked really, really well for a while until, again, until you started.
01:37:56.640 For me as a lieutenant, I had people right across the country reaching out to me, asking me questions.
01:38:04.220 You know, what's my rights?
01:38:05.380 how do i do this how do i do that and whenever i brought that up again at the lieutenant's meeting
01:38:13.740 i was told outright that you know the only reason people want this is to get
01:38:19.200 to get rid of maxime and again like i said this is this couldn't have been further from the truth
01:38:25.520 at the time but all right so that was frank vaughn talking with kelly lorenz who's a former
01:38:32.380 lieutenant lieutenant in the people's party of canada and it was there they're talking about
01:38:38.220 the fact that the ppc after a certain point in time 2019 or so became a maxime bernier cult of
01:38:44.080 personality and anybody who had any points to bring up regarding maybe drafting a party
01:38:49.960 constitution or having a leadership convention you're just after max you're and they rally to
01:38:56.880 protect Maxime Bernier at all costs and for what what has Maxime Bernier ever done since forming
01:39:04.640 the PPC I'll wait Frank Vaughn joins the show on Tuesday night at eight o'clock central and I'm
01:39:16.760 looking forward to that one and I told him yes we are going to have to talk about the PPC sometimes
01:39:21.920 he doesn't like talking about the PPC because he's sick of talking about the PPC but this guy
01:39:26.220 was there at the beginning he knows the history he understands exactly what happened he left the
01:39:31.060 party but he still has many connections inside and he understands it all and we're going to break it
01:39:36.480 down for you on tuesday night and i said yeah frank we do have to talk about that i understand
01:39:40.960 it's like um a rock star having to go out and perform his big hit song every single night might
01:39:47.340 be sick of it but you still got to do it because there's people out there that want to hear it and
01:39:52.400 more importantly, there's people
01:39:54.800 out there that have yet
01:39:56.420 to hear it. So again, Frank Fon joins
01:39:58.720 the show on Tuesday night at 8 o'clock.
01:40:00.960 Thank you guys for the suggestions.
01:40:02.960 I'm happy to bring them on. I'm looking forward
01:40:04.860 to that show. That's it for the socials
01:40:07.100 tonight. I'll catch you on the extension
01:40:08.960 in just a couple of minutes on shadowdavis.com
01:40:11.200 for you all. Access for the rest of you.
01:40:12.780 Have a great weekend. Maybe I'll see you
01:40:14.740 at the Canada First Pierre Pauly
01:40:16.820 Avarelli tomorrow in Winnipeg.
01:40:18.760 And if not, we're back
01:40:20.800 Monday night at eight o'clock central for another one. Love you all. Appreciate you all. Bye for now.
01:40:50.800 We'll be right back.
01:41:20.800 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
