00:00:00.000 Thank you.
00:00:30.000 We'll be right back.
00:01:00.000 Thank you.
00:01:30.000 Thank you.
00:02:00.000 hey everybody welcome to the show it is shadow at night for wednesday november the 13th 2024
00:02:16.940 the special guest on the show tonight is freedom convoy protester clayton mcallister who had all
00:02:23.260 of his charges withdrawn last week he's going to tell us all about that the penalty he was given
00:02:29.080 in exchange for having these charges withdrawn and what exactly happened during his time at the
00:02:35.640 convoy. Clayton is one of those guys whose name you might not know, even though he's part of an
00:02:42.180 iconic picture. We're going to show you in just a couple of seconds because sometimes, you know,
00:02:49.120 there's that photo of man returning from war, famous U.S. photo, and he steps off a boat and
00:02:56.860 a random woman comes up and hugs him and kisses him. But you never did know their names. Years
00:03:01.840 later, they found who these people were. But it's kind of like that. This photo, in my opinion,
00:03:08.660 will go down in Canadian history when everybody finally understands what's been going on and comes
00:03:14.640 to their senses. It could take a few years. I think in about 20 years, we're going to look
00:03:18.800 back on all of this craziness and go, man, I am so happy I stood up for the freedoms
00:03:23.320 that we had at that point and we still have whereas so many people didn't and this picture
00:03:29.040 is a reminder of that and the freedom convoy was as important in canadian history
00:03:37.200 as possibly our participation in world war ii in terms of our freedoms and what exactly is going
00:03:44.480 on not just in this country not just in your municipality but all over the world this is a
00:03:50.220 globalist movement. We are trying to stop. Clayton joins the show in just a couple of minutes.

00:05:19.260 for you all access members from global news federal lab confirms bc teen is the first
00:05:27.420 to contract bird flu in canada oh no p hack the public health agency of canada is now confirmed
00:05:36.120 that a teen in bc children's hospital is infected with a human case of avian influenza also known
00:05:42.860 is bird flu caused by influenza a h5n1 the virus is now in canada everybody rotten put a mask on
00:05:51.820 six feet all that is there a vaccine uh yeah but not available here not yet
00:05:58.500 are they seriously gonna try this again my god this is the first domestically acquired
00:06:08.560 human case of h5n1 avion influenza in canada the teen is in critical care in hospital bc's
00:06:17.180 provincial health officer the reviled bonnie henry confirmed that yesterday this teen was admitted
00:06:23.320 to hospital yesterday and on november 9th the teen tested presumptive positive presumptive positive
00:06:31.140 what does that mean we don't know for sure yet but we're gonna say yeah yeah just for now just
00:06:37.600 to scare you he's presumptively positive we don't know exactly if he's positive or not but
00:06:42.780 presumptively yeah sure that's like saying i think presumptively the blue bombers have already won
00:06:49.600 the gray cup again this is h5n1 the bird flu has hit canada the question is what are they going to
00:06:58.320 try to do to us this time clayton what do you think they're going to try to do to us this time
00:07:05.420 do you think they're going to try it again i would think that they would be silly to try it again
00:07:11.860 but uh who knows with this government you know i've often thought about because we've heard so
00:07:19.980 much about these uh globalists trying something like this again they've been warning us for the
00:07:25.620 past two or three years well you know there's going to be another pandemic it's inevitable
00:07:29.300 bill gates i guess has been leading that charge and they've tried to bring out the monkey pox and
00:07:34.700 they've tried to bring out this bird flu a few times now disease x of course and i wonder if
00:07:40.060 you're right i wonder if there are people who have woken up to all of this more so than the
00:07:44.740 first time and just won't play it's tough to say isn't it i i think that from my experience um
00:07:53.260 you know reading comments online and talking to people i think that if they were to try it again
00:07:58.540 it would actually probably be in our best interest right because then the people that are
00:08:04.880 slightly on the fence are just going to tip right over and they're going to have more pushback than
00:08:10.180 they'd ever thought especially if they try to bring in these restrictions again and these mask
00:08:15.400 mandates and these vaccine mandates i think you're absolutely right i'm going to throw this picture
00:08:19.380 up on the screen this is the one guys i was talking about right off the top this is the
00:08:23.160 iconic photo clayton can you describe exactly what was happening is this the first day
00:08:31.780 that the cops tried this or was this on day two no that was day one and that picture would have
00:08:40.220 taken so i laid down on the ground for about 20 to 30 minutes before they did their police action
00:08:46.660 And if you see the cop or the police officer right in the middle there, believe it or not, I actually had him laughing because when he was looking at me and the sun was coming up and I looked at him, I said, you know, can you move your head a little bit to the right?
00:09:04.620 It's kind of got some sun in my eyes.
00:09:09.140 That's great.
00:09:10.760 So did they talk to you at all these guys or were they just standing there quietly?
00:09:15.840 Nope, not one word was said to me.
00:09:18.260 They were standing there quietly.
00:09:20.920 I got spoken to after they had walked over top of me,
00:09:25.840 asking me if I was going to resist and be a pain.
00:09:29.660 I said, no, I'm not going to resist,
00:09:31.500 but you're going to have to pick me up off the ground.
00:09:34.640 And obviously they did that.
00:09:36.460 How did they treat you when this happened?
00:09:38.900 Were they gentle or did they...
00:09:41.460 Um, at, at the start, it was kind of, they just grabbed me and had flipped me over.
00:09:46.580 But as you can see, I got some pretty thick gloves on there, right?
00:09:50.560 So they, eventually it was about four of them that had jumped on top of me and they could
00:09:56.800 not get zip ties around my hands.
00:09:59.240 So they actually put the metal cuffs around me and then I was complete dead weight and
00:10:06.200 they actually had to lift me up and drag me out behind and then I was passed on from police
00:10:12.660 officer to police officer and was put in a line and then we did our intake and then I was put
00:10:20.640 into a paddy wagon. So now you told me the paddy wagon story on the phone the other day
00:10:27.960 and you were in there for what seven hours right? Yeah six hours well I would say six hours and
00:10:33.920 53 minutes so let's round up to seven and and you told me that that room or whatever that space you
00:10:42.620 were in was two by two yep two by two so from my assumption here on how the paddy wagons are
00:10:50.480 is uh the center is um uh there's you could there's i could hear it that there was probably
00:10:56.800 six to eight people in the center and then the four corners of the wagon are single uh cubicles
00:11:03.440 that are about a two by two and you're on a raised metal bench and that's all you got
00:11:08.700 and so that's not very comfortable then no definitely not definitely not so are you like
00:11:17.220 are you jammed right in there are you yes it's tight they they did let me put my hands in front
00:11:25.980 so i did not have them behind me however for the whole six and a half seven hours i was denied
00:11:32.340 any food i was denied washing breaks and i still had all of my winter gear on and they cranked the
00:11:40.840 heat in all of these so i was sweating but it like it it was just super uncomfortable it was
00:11:47.940 it was actually awful being stuck in a little cubicle for seven hours was there any cop in
00:11:53.920 there with you or did they come and check on you periodically um the only way that i was actually
00:11:59.240 able to get um water was i i that i had to think of how to get their attention so what i had done
00:12:06.880 is i put fresh foot warmers on that that morning but like the good ones that stick to your feet
00:12:12.040 right but because because my hands were in front um i was uh i took my boot off i took the foot
00:12:18.720 warmer off and i stuck it over top of the camera and then all of a sudden the door swung open they
00:12:24.800 said you can't do that and i said well i mean i need some water yeah you guys i mean this is
00:12:30.980 did you tell your lawyer about that treatment i mean that's seven hours right yes and and in my
00:12:38.240 disclosure um they had there was zero evidence of any time that i had spent in there um the sergeant
00:12:46.540 at the police station or at the not the police station but the mobile offices that they had set
00:12:51.360 up to as a temporary police station had wrote in the disclosure that there was zero notes on me he
00:12:58.780 had no information about me no time justifying how long i was in there so i had to go do some
00:13:04.460 digging and i had to watch a couple cbc videos to find out exactly what time i was taken which
00:13:12.100 was 12 o'clock noon so that's why i'm guessing that their their call was 12 o'clock noon they
00:13:17.180 do the move and then i had to find out when was i released the best way that i could find is that
00:13:24.480 my mother just watched me get arrested live on tv so who's the person who's the first person that
00:13:32.120 you're gonna message when you get out and you're and she's freaking out doesn't know what's going
00:13:36.880 on you're gonna message your mom okay so that i i want to get to everything that happened to you
00:13:44.640 that day because it's horrific but i i want to go back to before the convoy and you're from london
00:13:51.720 right london ontario yes it was a dorchester just outside of london okay i lived there for a couple
00:13:56.740 of years in the mid-90s i think just as you were probably being born so yep i worked on radio out
00:14:04.140 there on a radio station called the hawk and i lived out on near east park golf gardens i'm at
00:14:09.940 I actually, I remember the Hawk now they've,
00:14:11.920 they've changed to a country station.
00:14:14.000 Oh, that's good news.
00:14:15.640 Whatever it's left, left-wing corporate media,
00:14:18.000 as I call it today.
00:14:18.960 But anyway, I know London fairly well.
00:14:21.680 I enjoyed my time there.
00:14:22.960 And it seemed to me though,
00:14:25.380 that it was a very buttoned down city.
00:14:27.900 It was very university.
00:14:29.420 It was very white collar.
00:14:31.620 I'm sure there's areas of it that are blue collar,
00:14:34.740 but to me, it just had this air about it.
00:14:36.900 This, this kind of,
00:14:39.940 like ottawa almost kind of a an office like a small corporate field that's but it's run by
00:14:48.380 blue collar yeah something like it just seemed it was different than anything i'd experienced
00:14:54.780 right because i grew up on the prairies man i and up until the time i lived in london
00:14:59.500 it for me it's prairie right and so i go out there and i go oh this is completely and totally
00:15:03.480 different what i got a kick out of too was a road called wonderland like wonderland road really
00:15:08.260 like that's it's really wonderland road there's still there is there a is there a carnival on it
00:15:15.660 some kind of amusement park right wonderland road but anyway um you are in london yeah what was the
00:15:26.760 feel like there regarding all of the mandates what was it people were getting restless or
00:15:33.120 were most people following these ridiculous rules and mandates so oxford county which is where i
00:15:40.240 grew grew up which is just beside middlesex and and and our kind of general area was actually
00:15:46.880 known for being the last area to implement all the mandates and masking rules so we actually had
00:15:55.800 our it like it was a lot of people just kind of followed along but there was a lot of pushback
00:16:05.420 um there there was people talking about you know something just doesn't feel right something is not
00:16:12.540 making sense but in the end people still wanted to go to the store so on the mask they go and
00:16:19.220 and followed the mandates followed restrictions it was you know just like anybody they were
00:16:25.680 afraid at first but then as time went on at least my core group now every city every area has those
00:16:33.600 hardcore left wings that you know if they seen you outside without a mask they were you know
00:16:40.020 walking across the street because they didn't want to walk by yeah right right right but
00:16:46.220 were you did you get into any arguments were there any local protests were people standing up and
00:16:52.820 doing anything in your area to try and get anybody's attention the only one that i can
00:16:58.220 think of would have been there was one in woodstock that uh that was pretty substantial
00:17:04.880 that i remember driving past and seeing because at that time the time of the convoy and we're
00:17:14.140 talking about january of 2022 now it's a very late january when people started hearing about this
00:17:19.560 this thing that might be going on. And I caught it off. I think it was an Instagram reel or a
00:17:25.340 Twitter reel or something. It just kind of crossed my feed. And I went, what's this all about? I
00:17:29.380 forget who it was. And I went, is this for real? And I called a buddy of mine who is also an
00:17:34.420 independent journalist. And I said, have you heard about this? He goes, no, I haven't. I said,
00:17:38.540 look into it. So he did. He called a buddy out east and he said, yeah, it looks like this is
00:17:43.220 actually happening. I called a couple of people I knew out west. Next thing you know, there's
00:17:47.640 trucks just pouring down the the number one highway across the country and people are rolling
00:17:53.320 into Ottawa and I think there was so much pent-up desperation frustration that was boiling over
00:18:01.300 across the country people just could not wait and felt relieved almost to to be a part of a larger
00:18:08.000 movement was that the way you felt too yeah yeah so actually one of the um rally points uh was
00:18:16.220 london for the meetup of the western ontario convoy going into ottawa so i didn't have to go
00:18:22.740 very far at the flying jay and that was the first time that i had been really involved and seeing
00:18:30.520 what was going on and seeing and feeling how big this movement was was that morning that we left
00:18:37.660 and man i was mind blown you know just driving down the highway with the group and every single
00:18:45.460 overpass from london to ottawa we got we got held up because of weather outside of toronto
00:18:51.380 and we were three four hours behind getting into kingston because that's where our stop was for
00:18:57.100 the night and there was still people out on the overpasses 10 10 30 at night just waiting for us
00:19:03.000 to come by did you go by yourself like were you the only one or was there a group of you guys
00:19:09.440 no i i went by myself i met people along the way that's so cool yeah yeah i so what i you know i
00:19:18.920 became inspired by what was going on and then on my business page i said you know i'm gonna take
00:19:23.740 part in this i'm gonna do this and i had a utility trailer and i said if anyone would like to
00:19:29.780 give some snacks some food my my whole intention was to go up there and be a supply trailer be
00:19:37.560 be bringing supplies to the truckers up there and in my mind i had envisioned with what was going on
00:19:43.760 that i wasn't going to even really get close to ottawa but i happened to get pretty well front
00:19:49.400 row up there why did you think you were going to get in because of the magnitude of how it felt it
00:19:55.600 was going to be i felt it was massive and i was actually because i drove truck for a long time
00:20:00.900 right so i i i know how the roads of ottawa work and i was pretty certain that we were going to be
00:20:07.480 jammed up out to the 416 and beyond you you mean like the cops were going to stop you before you
00:20:13.960 got in no not stop us but i i i knew before going in to there that it was that the movement was so
00:20:22.480 massive that i i was worried that i was not going to even get in close to ottawa and you did and i
00:20:30.240 did now i got in there because when we left kingston we were supposed to stop at there's a
00:20:36.860 truck stop just on the is it the four six no not the 416 but the one the one that goes up from the
00:20:43.460 401 up into ottawa we were supposed to wrap or meet up at that truck stop but i just kept going
00:20:49.520 417 isn't it for no the 417 oh that's the queen's west yes runs east and west and the 416 actually
00:20:58.660 runs north and south that is the 416 then that's right yes yes and and there's a yeah truck stop
00:21:04.820 down there but I just kept going right and and there was a quite a few others of us that kept
00:21:10.180 going and I as soon as I kept going I was like oh maybe I'm gonna get up close get up close
00:21:15.340 and as soon as we got into Ottawa we were doing figure eights all around the whole city until
00:21:20.680 the police actually parked us and people don't realize that but the police actually parked us
00:21:26.620 in our spots how did you meet people along the way I mean Clayton you you're driving truck
00:21:34.160 were you in the cab by yourself yep i i i did the whole thing by myself uh the first night in
00:21:41.600 kingston i got out of the truck and um the feeling that i got at the truck stop in kingston
00:21:47.880 was as soon as i pulled up there everybody that brought up supplies and barbecues opened their
00:21:52.340 trucks up and just started cooking for everybody and you just kind of mingled around and i ended
00:21:59.160 up hanging out with a whole bunch of serbian fellas and that was the first group of people
00:22:04.300 that i met and then i actually ended up being parked kind of behind them whenever we got into
00:22:10.440 ottawa so what did your mom think about this did she think you were crazy uh i don't think that she
00:22:18.060 really understood why i was doing it but she i do a lot of spontaneous things
00:22:27.520 so what about other friends and family like did they think that you were insane or did they want
00:22:35.480 to come with you real bad they they wanted to come with me but they were scared at first
00:22:42.200 right and actually after i had been up there for a week and i and i was able to put out videos that
00:22:49.740 i was down there and seeing what i had seen i actually had some friends drive up the next
00:22:54.880 weekend and come see for themselves. And, and I can remember when they called me that they were
00:23:00.260 coming into Ottawa, they wanted directions. And I told him where to park. And I remember him saying,
00:23:07.640 I'm scared. Is it okay that I leave my vehicle here? And I said, I'll tell you what, if you are
00:23:12.900 scared, park your vehicle, come to me. If you become scared at all, I will go with you and we
00:23:18.680 will move your vehicle. But I promise you, you will not be scared. You will have never seen
00:23:23.360 anything like this and we didn't even I went and met them at their vehicle we didn't even get to
00:23:28.320 my truck and he he just looked at me said I'm not worried at all he said this is unreal he says I
00:23:34.120 have never smiled so big in my life and he hadn't even gotten into the heart of it was it emotional
00:23:40.600 for you yes I cried more times in those three weeks from the stories that I heard the the
00:23:49.140 the people that came up to, to talk to me and tell me their story to thank me for what I was
00:23:55.460 doing. I didn't know that what I was doing had such a big effect. I didn't know that me just
00:24:00.000 being somewhere could be inspirational to others. Can you tell us about some of the emotional
00:24:07.660 stories and things that you went through while you were there? You told me what great one the
00:24:12.640 other day um the the the biggest emotional stories would yes the children the ones that
00:24:21.180 would come up to especially it was around valentine's day when they would come up to you
00:24:25.560 and give you you know a valentine and and handwritten note thanking you for being there
00:24:31.060 i can remember reading them with a with a friend that i actually met from bc he spent two weeks in
00:24:37.200 my truck and we became pretty good friends we still talk we still communicate and the letters
00:24:43.180 that we got both of us were just bawling our eyes out um another story other stories that affected
00:24:49.760 me were um foreign old old foreign ladies that that came from romania and and had seen communism
00:25:00.640 and fled communism and came up crying on my shoulder said that you have no idea where we
00:25:06.720 were heading until this happened those were emotional stories um which one were you talking
00:25:15.380 about you talked about a little girl maybe a 10 year old yes yes okay so the uh a gentleman had
00:25:22.400 come up and he brought his 10 year old daughter somewhere between 10 and 12 and she told her dad
00:25:29.940 that she wanted to be a part of this she wanted to contribute in any way that she could
00:25:35.420 so what they had done my job on my block was to distribute fuel acquire and distribute and
00:25:43.520 they so they had come and found me they they had this vision of what they wanted to do and I and I
00:25:49.180 helped it happen for them is that they brought up their bicycles and hooked onto the back of their
00:25:54.460 bicycles little baby carriers and it was all this little girl's plan she wanted to bring fuel in for
00:26:00.580 the truckers she wanted to supply so all day the whole day all they did with her and her dad was
00:26:07.180 go back and forth to the fuel station fill up a diesel tank and bring them back in and the smile
00:26:13.660 and the giggle on this little girl's face every time that she opened up that baby carrier and
00:26:18.420 handed me a jug of fuel made everything worth it what was it like being in the trenches i mean
00:26:27.440 i'm so happy to have you on tonight and and i want to get to your charges and all of that and
00:26:33.420 we'll get to that but i mean you know i've had tamara leach on i've had chris barber on i've
00:26:38.560 had tom arazzo on i've had you know the big names of all of the uh the convoy crew the leadership
00:26:45.560 group but it's very rare that you get the opportunity to speak with a guy who was on the
00:26:52.800 ground and who dealt with other people who were on the ground you know because that you you weren't
00:26:58.480 busy talking to police you weren't busy maybe you were but it wasn't any official capacity you
00:27:03.680 weren't you weren't responsible for any like you know i've had keith wilson on as well you weren't
00:27:08.380 responsible for any negotiations you were just there in the midst of this amazing group of people
00:27:16.380 that came from everywhere coast to coast to coast yeah and you know what was your day-to-day life
00:27:23.420 like my day-to-day life was uh you know i would i would go into my truck and and you know welcome
00:27:32.000 people as they would walk by they they would so in front of me i had brought a a pop-up tent
00:27:39.240 and we built a uh we connected two of them and we built like a grocery store almost or a supply
00:27:48.900 store and then we had to fence it all off so i was that was right in front of my truck so it was
00:27:55.140 all the food got served out of there and and every time that somebody needed something anything
00:28:00.840 whatever it was it was there it was ready to go um there there was no negative emotion that i felt
00:28:09.160 in those trenches or in on the ground or however you want to call it there was
00:28:14.600 nothing negative that ever came across
00:28:17.420 the nazi flag and the media yep did you see the nazi flag and i i know you know when we talk about
00:28:27.880 the freedom convoy it's very it's interesting to gain a perspective on it because there's a
00:28:33.080 hundred thousand people right i mean not all at once maybe uh on weekends it probably seemed like
00:28:38.720 more than that but you know we're talking about thousands and thousands and thousands of people
00:28:43.680 all together it's the same size as a city like thunder bay or red deer alberta right i mean so
00:28:51.700 you're not going to know everybody you're not going to see everything but you you say you did
00:28:56.500 see that guy which guy yeah so i remember how i was telling you that when when i had got there
00:29:03.860 early we were doing figure eights kind of around the town you know letting people know we were
00:29:09.100 there honking our horns when I first showed up it was you know I think I got there around 10 30 or
00:29:16.060 10 I opened up the back of my trailer and every single truck that went by I offered them a can
00:29:22.060 of diesel or a can of def or anything snacks and but when I was doing a figure eights I seen that
00:29:29.820 guy in front of parliament and and i didn't understand why that was there but he was gone
00:29:38.880 i want to say by noon because by the time i was you know by the time i got myself parked and i
00:29:47.400 got the courage to go i am part of this i want to go do this i had walked up to parliament
00:29:52.480 which was one block away and he was gone never to be seen again
00:29:57.560 from my understanding was he was surrounded and pushed out yeah there's a lot of uh a lot of
00:30:06.140 people who think they know who that was and certain people have made certain allegations
00:30:10.100 about who that was and i think there's a couple of legal cases ongoing about that right now but
00:30:15.440 I think that this guy was a photographer on the crew of an MP, possibly even just at Trudeau, or maybe for one of the big left-wing corporate media organizations.
00:30:26.960 What about the media, Clayton?
00:30:29.240 I mean, you had a good story about one of the media organizations.
00:30:33.000 Maybe it was Global.
00:30:34.100 Yes, Global News.
00:30:36.180 They had come up to my truck, I want to say a couple days in, and seen that I was sitting there.
00:30:44.260 and you know i was obviously cold i was in my truck warming up and the lady knocked on my
00:30:49.740 window and she said you know can we interview you and i said well are you are you gonna actually
00:30:54.880 tell the truth and she says that's why i'm here i want to get your guys's side sorry i
00:31:00.200 so she asked me we had we had probably half hour 45 minute interview great questions and
00:31:08.580 And the only part of the interview that she used was when she asked me if I would take a charge for being there.
00:31:17.600 And I had told her, I said, yes, I would take a charge for the children.
00:31:22.500 I would take a charge.
00:31:23.920 And that is the only part of the entire interview that she used.
00:31:29.540 You would take a charge?
00:31:31.380 Yeah, I said, for the children, I would take a charge.
00:31:34.560 For freedom, I would take one.
00:31:35.700 well what else did did you talk about i mean there must have been some other things that you
00:31:40.760 talked about you know i can't remember exactly but you know she asked me why i'm here what
00:31:47.520 what what drives me to be here what do i think of what's going on
00:31:52.740 i i can't remember everything from the interview but i just remember that was the only part that
00:31:58.900 she used and then it ended up on tv that night just that that last part what's that sorry just
00:32:06.840 that last part where you said you'd take a charge yeah that's all that they used without any context
00:32:12.480 surrounding it no all it all it went from so i when i watched it on global it went it was whenever
00:32:18.820 the uh veterans were taking down the fences and it goes from them taking down the fences
00:32:25.360 to a shot of me in my truck saying, yep, I'll take a charge.
00:32:30.300 I don't care.
00:32:31.840 So that makes you come across like a lunatic,
00:32:34.600 which is probably exactly what they wanted, right?
00:32:37.520 Yes, yes.
00:32:39.180 That's insane.
00:32:40.540 If you'll pardon the expression.
00:32:43.020 Did you see any negative interactions?
00:32:47.020 And when I say that, I'm talking about the locals
00:32:49.560 because I know that people like Zexy Lee
00:32:51.660 and others who were involved in this lawsuit
00:32:54.260 against uh the organizers of freedom corp and i think it's like a billion dollar lawsuit or some
00:33:01.300 crazy number uh we're out there yelling and screaming at people about fumes and honking
00:33:07.040 and even throwing things at them um i never seen any negative the only real kind of negatives from
00:33:17.000 locals that i seen was them walking around and you could tell because they would walk from truck to
00:33:22.320 truck and take a picture of your license plate right and and then they would say oh you guys
00:33:28.280 are gonna be in so much trouble and that that's that's most of the thing i actually remember
00:33:33.880 having quite a few locals come up to me even some that were in the apartment buildings right in the
00:33:38.920 heart of it come down you know at night time they would say thank you for being here not everybody
00:33:44.680 in my building agrees with you but i would like to buy you a beer so they would walk around with
00:33:49.880 a case of beer and hand them out to anybody that they could what about downtown businesses and i
00:33:55.460 know this was in the midst of all of these restrictions people were still wearing masks
00:34:00.100 and there were certain lockdown rules that were and they were different everywhere so i can't
00:34:05.100 remember what they would have been like in ottawa uh stores were closing and then you know for me
00:34:10.680 it would have been like wow man i've got like a hundred thousand extra people down here i can
00:34:14.120 make a fortune i have my store open 24 7 but people instead were closing them down based upon
00:34:20.280 ideology or fear which to me was ridiculous did did you have any interaction with local
00:34:26.460 store owners so the only one that i had an interaction with that i went to every day was
00:34:31.980 uh tim hortons now when i went there the owner there absolutely loved us right he he he says
00:34:42.520 how do i complain these people are going in and cleaning the washrooms for me he said i'm my
00:34:47.980 business is back up and running i'm making money again i'm i'm surviving i'm not locked down and
00:34:53.560 and he and it blows my mind that the tim hortons stayed open the mcdonald's stayed open and all the
00:35:01.300 major chains like that stayed open and welcomed us but if you were a small business like what what
00:35:09.180 was that one coffee shop that oh yeah they shut it right down kicked them right out but all the
00:35:15.700 Tim Hortons and all the hotels that housed everybody they're all fine yeah well I mean
00:35:22.280 this was a great transfer of wealth right from the poor and middle classes to the rich I think
00:35:28.540 that they said something in the area of 12 trillion dollars in the past three four years
00:35:34.800 have gone from the middle and low classes to the upper classes to the 1%. And nobody ever talks
00:35:40.520 about that. What about politicians, Clayton? I mean, there's this picture of you here with Andrew
00:35:45.740 Scheer. Now, Andrew, at the time, he was not the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada. I think
00:35:51.060 it was Aaron O'Toole who was the leader, but he was still a shadow minister. He was still a critic,
00:35:56.880 highly placed member of the Conservative Party of Canada. He's just walking through the streets here
00:36:02.020 and you just said hey andrew can we get a picture together he does not look at all like he's trying
00:36:07.220 to avoid you one bit there no and that that is so you can actually see in that picture that is my
00:36:12.820 truck back there and that's the tent in front of me that we had all the food so he he actually made
00:36:20.120 a point to come through there then it wasn't just happenstance he was actually coming to see you
00:36:24.180 guys yeah he he was walking right down the sidewalk was he looking around like did he say
00:36:31.220 hey guys can i come in and have a hot dog or or was it just uh he wanted to he i don't think he
00:36:37.480 wanted to necessarily engage a whole lot but he wanted to see for himself and and i know walking
00:36:43.960 or as he walked by you could tell that he was looking around and the giant grin on his face
00:36:49.940 i i i could tell that like he he he didn't want to be vocal about his support but i'm pretty sure
00:36:57.340 he did support. Now, when you say that he wasn't the leader and O'Toole was, wasn't it, and correct
00:37:03.640 me if I'm wrong, mid-convoy, were they ousted O'Toole? You know what, the timing of it, yeah,
00:37:12.300 I think it was probably in a round there, maybe just after, and then it took six or seven months
00:37:16.260 for Polyev to get elected leader. But I do know at this stage of the game that Andrew Scheer was
00:37:22.620 not the leader yet there he is with you what about other politicians were they coming out and saying
00:37:28.100 hello or or was it few and far between and i know it's difficult because i'm there's a lot of them
00:37:33.480 you could see right up close and not recognize the soul a backbench mp from whatever party you
00:37:38.200 wouldn't know but i mean andrew sheer obviously had had a higher profile yeah there there was a
00:37:44.980 a blonde lady that was a big part of it and she got she got judged for a picture of her on one
00:37:52.900 of the trucks i can't remember what politician she was candace bergen i think it was right i
00:37:59.880 think it was candace bergen she had a mega hat on maybe in this yeah i think you're right and
00:38:06.200 and another politician i don't know if you call him a politician but one night i can remember
00:38:12.380 there there was some vehicle accidents way on the outskirts of ottawa and and we i remember
00:38:19.200 going to get fuel from those guys i was telling you about which would be a good story
00:38:23.640 um so we started walking around and there was this older gentleman and he was walking down the
00:38:30.460 street and just laughing and hooting and hollering and we got talking to him and we asked him who he
00:38:37.340 was and he said that he didn't want to say his name but he was a city councillor or something
00:38:41.580 somewhere work for the city and he said he couldn't believe what he was seeing and the way
00:38:46.400 that everything was going and he just up and quit and i think he was running around he had just quit
00:38:51.880 his job he said i'm i can't believe this and he was in full support i can't remember who it was
00:38:57.740 but he said he he was worked for the city or something wow interesting because most of the
00:39:04.960 time what we've heard from local politicians in ottawa were you know like that doctor nilly
00:39:11.400 caplan mirth i think her name is who was still wearing a mask last week um you know it was
00:39:17.380 mostly negative stuff the mayor at the time jim watson was calling you guys that i mean
00:39:21.820 politicians from the liberal party from the ndp um even provincial politicians they were calling
00:39:29.700 you guys hurtful names they were calling you racists they were calling you nazis they were
00:39:35.140 calling you anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers and you know when whenever you throw terrorists whenever
00:39:41.640 you throw anti in front of anything it just makes you sound like like this creepy you know like this
00:39:48.000 monster almost and it immediately ostracizes or or i guess the new word for it is others you
00:39:54.420 right yeah and it immediately makes people suspicious of what kind of a person you are
00:40:00.320 how how did that make you feel i mean you were there experiencing all of these good vibes
00:40:06.280 and yet the media was telling it and the government was telling a completely different story
00:40:11.080 it for me it it at the time it it really didn't bother me right because in that tent in that
00:40:19.080 picture is where there's a famous video out there where east indians are out there cooking up meals
00:40:25.900 that was in that tent i had an east indian in my truck that was down there the entire time him and
00:40:34.500 his sister and they they they spent a lot of time in my truck with me right and and it was a great
00:40:42.380 big joke that i would you know see them in the morning i'd be like hello there white supremacist
00:40:46.900 so it didn't get to you then but no no we're you were talking to people you know probably on the
00:40:58.700 phone during the the entire three weeks right people back home maybe yeah my my mom would call
00:41:04.520 me and she would call me and say is this happening is there stuff going on and i would turn i would
00:41:11.380 i would voice or video call her and i would show her exactly what's in front of me and
00:41:17.060 at that one specific time i said no that's not going on look what's going on in front of me
00:41:22.120 there's a whole russian crew that just come in and they're making dinner tonight
00:41:25.220 it was like two different stories completely and totally it was it might be like if you're
00:41:34.520 watching the same hockey game but you're listening to the one city's broadcast team
00:41:40.420 and then the other city's broadcast team and it's almost like you're listening to two different
00:41:44.400 games maybe yeah and and the i would get messages from uh old friends that would say oh my mom's
00:41:51.980 saying this and this is happening there uh i just want to message you and ask if it's true because
00:41:57.460 i know you're there and i said this is the first i've heard of it i know that's not happening there
00:42:03.900 is not one it has been two and a half years and there is not one shred of violence evidence
00:42:11.180 anywhere that's come out two and a half weeks you mean when you were there no no i'm i'm saying like
00:42:17.440 as as now you know we we were told oh we're violent we're breaking things we're right we're
00:42:23.700 doing that and there is still to this day i have not seen one shred of evidence that has
00:42:29.600 said there is violence or shown violence of any kind it was interesting to me during the convoy
00:42:37.160 a friend of mine was there um and he took video he was following this young couple
00:42:44.060 and i forget i think they were on wellington and they were cleaning up they they actually had
00:42:49.340 huge garbage bags and they were picking up trash from the streets and he was just following them
00:42:53.780 taping them and uh he talked to them later on he said what are you guys doing he said well this is
00:42:59.200 our duty today this is what we're supposed to be doing we're supposed to be cleaning this up and
00:43:02.660 everybody seemed to have the same kind of mantra that we want to leave this place better than we
00:43:08.660 found it yes was and and that that was there there was there was everybody kind of unwilling
00:43:17.800 well not unwillingly or just took on a job willingly took on a job that knew had to be done
00:43:25.580 to keep things opposite of what the media was saying and it just kind of came naturally there
00:43:32.220 was we had people that were meant for cooking food we had people that were meant for getting
00:43:39.360 fuel we had people that were night security we had people that would travel and bring things
00:43:45.540 and get things from the hubs like um the big camp wherever they had the big camp outside
00:43:51.640 outside i can't remember what it was called i can't either it'll come to me anyway and and and
00:43:59.540 people that would fix things people that would build things people we had mechanics that would
00:44:04.140 go around because you're idling trucks for so long i had more idle hours on my truck than i did drive
00:44:09.300 truck it was a brand new truck are you an independent trucker or you just take jobs on
00:44:15.360 your own you have your own company or do you work for somebody i i used to be a trucker now the only
00:44:20.580 trucking i do is on the ice roads oh my god you're an ice road trucker yeah so two months a year i go
00:44:27.180 up on the ice roads but other than that i run um my own junk removal business so i'm in and out
00:44:32.940 cleaning people's houses and and doing a demolition and you know just just stuff at home
00:44:39.840 dude you're an interesting character we could talk about ice roads for another hour i mean
00:44:43.680 that's gotta be that's dangerous right up there like that it's safer than the 401
00:44:48.360 you got me on that one uh let's get back to the jobs everybody had a job and you were the fuel
00:44:59.320 guy and and you said you had a good story to tell a couple of minutes ago that yes the so i had a
00:45:06.400 good story here in the sense of people that supported us that were told not to support us
00:45:12.580 so every single night there was two military guys that got a hold of me they found out where
00:45:20.560 where the fuel hub was on my street and they said every single night we will bring you between 12
00:45:26.880 and 20 full diesel cans can you get them in for me and i said yes i can that's no problem they
00:45:34.780 said we can't touch them because we have been directly told not to show support so every single
00:45:42.120 night I would go meet these two military men and I would unload fuel out of their SUV and bring it
00:45:48.840 back and I would bring them the empty diesel cans and post the convoy whenever my trucks and
00:45:58.980 everything whenever my truck got smashed up and everything these guys reached out to me said that
00:46:04.180 they had seen what happened heard what happened to my truck and they went and around and raised
00:46:10.220 money for me to fix my truck and told me that all of that money came from mps
00:46:15.780 mps like military police no no no came from mps government members of parliament members of
00:46:25.700 parliament wow they they didn't tell me who or where but they said that they went around talked
00:46:32.840 to people that they know and they were able to raise enough money for me to fix the damage that
00:46:37.180 was done in my truck from mps that were in parliament which that's something that i didn't
00:46:44.900 know i don't think anybody knew that except for you clayton so probably more people more elected
00:46:50.800 representatives than we think were in support of what you guys were doing there i i think that
00:46:57.900 there was i i think that there's been a lot of push from the liberal side of things to not show
00:47:06.440 any kind of support right yeah i mean why are the conservatives so scared to just come out and say
00:47:11.800 look man this was a tremendous incredibly heroic grassroots movement that happened with tens of
00:47:18.580 thousands of frustrated canadians who just wanted their country and their lives back
00:47:22.780 what's wrong with saying that because that's what it was yeah and and it's the power of media in my
00:47:29.640 opinion because if somebody says that then you now have all of mainstream that is going to
00:47:37.480 scrutinize you for being supportive and then and then they now have to deal with this or it's just
00:47:45.620 going to the pressure from the from the mainstream is just going to keep on hurting them yeah but i
00:47:50.640 mean come on i mean at some point somebody's got to say something and and we've got tens of thousands
00:47:56.100 of witnesses who can back them up right i mean somebody like yourself just watching this show
00:48:01.200 tonight you know you were there man you were in the thick of it you were there the entire time
00:48:06.540 you'd be the stories you're telling tonight there's no no hate there's no bitterness there
00:48:13.640 was no ugliness there was no fighting there was no you know i mean it you want to know another
00:48:20.820 cool story from the lady um so we were about i want to say a week and a half in and there was
00:48:29.440 a lady that come down beside my truck and she had lost well didn't lose but she ran a haircutting
00:48:37.440 business she was a barber or hairdresser or whatever and she was so supportive of what we
00:48:44.100 were doing that she come down the one day and for the whole day all she did was give everybody free
00:48:51.240 haircuts all day wow there was a lot of hair beside my truck because she did it beside my truck but
00:49:00.000 i got pictures of it video of it there's people who didn't get a shower for a week or maybe longer
00:49:07.940 there were people who you know i mean because you're living in your truck or you're living in
00:49:11.620 your car at that stage the showers were always there was always access to it because as we were
00:49:18.600 down there like people's jobs that took them on one i can remember there would be a lady or a
00:49:25.920 couple or somebody would come by every day and said i've rented out or i've booked this hotel room
00:49:31.940 for a month anybody that needs a shower or needs a bed to stay in call my number you can come to
00:49:39.340 my room clean yourself up and if you need a bed to stay in you can stay in that bed
00:49:45.220 anything that you needed it was available and and they would go around you know every couple days
00:49:52.360 and somebody from our our side would hand us a piece of paper that would have lawyers numbers
00:50:00.040 uh numbers to contact for medical numbers to contact for food sleep anything that you needed
00:50:05.880 there was always a list of numbers to to access to get things done
00:50:11.160 so you could actually do things you see that i'm learning even now almost three years later
00:50:19.080 things i didn't know before just because i'm i'm getting a different perspective here
00:50:24.180 as the time went on was tension starting to build a little bit people were getting cranky maybe
00:50:30.900 uh tired tired yes cranky no because because because the vibe and and the energy of what it was
00:50:42.420 you couldn't be upset you couldn't but it's so hard to maintain something like that though right
00:50:48.140 i mean like you've you've got the great vibe on the first week everybody's there from all across
00:50:52.620 the country you're meeting these incredible amazing people and then the time goes on and
00:50:58.400 nothing seems to be happening the government's not talking trudeau goes into hiding you know and and
00:51:04.080 then a noticeable turn in the demeanor of the police because i understand for the first week
00:51:10.060 and a half they were good they were great they were very accommodating i would even say right
00:51:14.560 to the very end okay i i i can say right to the very end you know i can remember cops coming up
00:51:21.600 to to my truck you know tell me to roll my window down they say you know are you okay do you have
00:51:27.760 food is there anything that you need i i can remember cops doing that and and now as they
00:51:36.360 would walk by in their in their cruise of six or whatever you could tell as they were walking you
00:51:42.520 could tell by the look on their eyes if they were in support or against and i if if i had to guess
00:51:49.160 i would say well over half were in support but they were they wanted to make it clear that they
00:51:55.260 were only there to just keep the peace and make sure that nothing was going wrong as the days led
00:52:03.180 up to the emergencies act and and the ultimate final response from the police were you feeling
00:52:08.600 that were people feeling that in the streets were they feeling like this can't go on something bad
00:52:12.600 is going to happen and i'm sure there was rumors flying around as well oh oh every every single
00:52:18.240 night and and we got to the point like we didn't know who it was somebody would come up to my truck
00:52:24.860 somebody would come up somewhere and say police are coming tomorrow everybody needs to leave now
00:52:30.460 it got to the point where i just said sure every single night somebody tells me this and that
00:52:36.660 happened from day one okay but did it start taking on a more serious tone towards the end
00:52:43.380 um or were you completely shocked when the cops came out the way they did i i knew that they were
00:52:52.140 going to come out i i had that feeling that they were going to make that move it was just a matter
00:52:58.140 of when but i did not expect it to be on a mass scale like it was and for their entire mood to
00:53:08.600 shift the way that it was to okay now if you're not going to leave we're going to beat you out of
00:53:15.760 here which leads us to the first day of the uh of the emergencies act and here you are so how did
00:53:26.600 this go down exactly i mean because we're looking at the who took that picture by the way that
00:53:31.000 iconic picture i you know i i have no idea where that picture came from but did you where i got
00:53:37.560 that picture was the i think it is it was the either the vancouver times i think was the place
00:53:45.240 that i seen that and it got shared as their headline article of this picture saying three
00:53:53.280 people have died at the convoy and i had my phone blowing up saying are you dead because of this
00:54:03.340 picture yes and because the vancouver times had the headline under it three people dead
00:54:08.560 from the convoy police action but nobody died at the convoy no that's outrageous how could they
00:54:17.080 report that that's that's nonsense that's complete irresponsible journalism that's terrible and i'm
00:54:23.620 sure if you if you have access to your computer right now you could look up vancouver times people
00:54:28.920 dead at the convoy and that would come right up this picture so so did you just come charging out
00:54:35.640 of the crowd and and lay down how did this what were the moments leading up to this Clayton um
00:54:41.500 so I had uh on the day of the police action I went and did my usual end of the truck get warm
00:54:48.320 and then uh I had heard so I was on the more I was on the west side of parliament and the police
00:54:57.060 lineup started on the east side when I got word that it was happening I turned my phone on seen
00:55:02.760 lives seen the cops lining up and i had envisioned myself doing this probably from about the third or
00:55:09.700 fourth day being there i said when the cops come this is what i'm gonna do so i had seen the cops
00:55:15.720 were lined up on lives so i you know made my ass all the way across the all the way across the
00:55:22.900 wellington street i seen the lineup there was a little bit of a crowd kind of in front you know
00:55:28.720 was standing up to the police and i just walked right in front of them and i just laid right on
00:55:34.080 the ground and and 20 minutes you said you were there yeah 20 20 30 minutes somewhere around there
00:55:42.640 there was actually as i was as i was laying there and and there's a video of it somewhere
00:55:47.060 there's a gentleman that comes around and he starts shoveling all the snow around me
00:55:51.320 and i said what are you doing and he says well i just want to make sure nobody slips and falls
00:55:57.560 okay fine so the cops picked you up after the 20 minutes
00:56:06.080 yep did they stop like were they moving when you got there and you laid down in front of them or
00:56:12.920 were they just standing there they were just standing there exactly like that in their formation
00:56:17.720 and i just laid on the ground in front of them and my vision was to make my my my vision was to
00:56:26.900 get arrested but set a precedent for the easiest simplest non-resistant way to get arrested and
00:56:35.080 they still gave me a resisting arrest church all right so ridiculous because you didn't get up on
00:56:44.340 your own right because you were dead weight and they had to pick you up so i suppose they could
00:56:48.300 construe that as as you know it's amazing the stretching of truths and the complete denial of
00:56:55.720 reality these past few years isn't it so you got thrown you got thrown into the back of the paddy
00:57:00.820 wagon for seven hours and then what happened after that after that awful cramped seven hour
00:57:06.860 no food no water no bathroom experience what did they yeah they they brought me into their mobile
00:57:13.500 trailer and there was about eight nine cops or so in there they they gave you i don't know what
00:57:20.460 it's called an undertaking or something where they wrote this is what you're being charged with
00:57:24.760 um the you have to sign this piece of paperwork saying that you will not go into ottawa of any
00:57:31.400 kind of red zone until your court's been figured out and i said well what if i don't sign it and
00:57:35.480 then they say well then you're going to go right to jail so i was like wow i don't really plan on
00:57:41.120 coming back to ottawa i guess anytime soon so i'll sign that piece of paperwork get this done
00:57:46.160 and over with and then they put me into the back of a cop car immediately and then um with my bank
00:57:57.000 accounts were frozen um hold on hold on hold on hold on hold it was that an immediate thing
00:58:02.540 that your bank accounts were frozen i i didn't know that they were actually fully frozen until
00:58:08.820 i got out okay they froze them that morning i didn't know and then when they when they took
00:58:15.820 me out and they dropped me off that's when i really found out that they were frozen because
00:58:20.320 i couldn't buy anything i had one percent on my phone so i wanted to go get a phone charger
00:58:25.380 ultimately the store wouldn't let me in because i didn't have a mask but this is this is after
00:58:33.000 they drove you what 20 miles out of town right yes in the minus 25 yeah i think it was a little
00:58:42.540 colder than that because it was at night time by the time i got let out okay so let's say it's
00:58:47.560 minus 35 with the wind chill and you've got your winter gear at least you had your winter gear on
00:58:52.200 and the store doesn't let you in because you've got no mask got no mask and all i wanted was a
00:58:56.860 phone charger so i just threw the thing up over my nose and then i find out all my bank accounts
00:59:01.520 are frozen so i had no option i i had called with the one percent i called a friend that i had made
00:59:07.680 in ottawa i said i don't know where i am i can't see any street signs but there is this gas station
00:59:14.380 here there's a store this is what it's called and the last thing he said is i think i know where
00:59:20.000 you are or know where you are and then my phone dies so i'm standing outside in the cold for 30
00:59:27.120 40 minutes not knowing if i'm going to get picked up not knowing where i am got no phone can't get
00:59:32.480 anywhere that that would be terrifying in a town that i have no idea where not even in the town
00:59:42.160 they they drove me way out of town yeah i didn't know i didn't even know where i was yeah and and
00:59:47.060 it's freezing and nobody's letting you in it were there any other buildings in the area were there
00:59:52.040 houses was it just a open field it was it was just an random intersection outside of town that
00:59:58.860 had a gas station and and there there was some other kind of restaurant or something i can't
01:00:04.480 remember what it was but i was able to say this is what's here and the guy on the phone he said
01:00:09.340 i think i know where you are and so between that moment where your phone died and the time he came
01:00:16.440 to get you this friend of yours what was it like 20 minutes half an hour uh yeah about half an hour
01:00:23.680 where i was out there in the cold and and as you can see i'm wearing steel toe boots they get pretty
01:00:29.440 cold when you're in the snow no kidding steel metal doesn't mix so you must have thought you
01:00:38.360 were going to die i i had no idea what was going to happen to me i i they're what they didn't even
01:00:44.960 drop anybody else off at that place like i didn't see another cop car i didn't see anybody else get
01:00:51.240 dropped off where they dropped me off so i had no idea where i was i had no one to communicate with
01:00:56.520 i didn't know what was going on so when the buddy came to get you finally what was your reaction
01:01:04.860 um my reaction was get in his car and get warm but no i mean seriously like did you did you have
01:01:11.960 an emotional at that point after everything that you had been through that day i mean it must have
01:01:16.880 been like or were you just in shock i i i was in shock i i was in shock not believing what i had
01:01:26.200 just seen and witnessed my own government do to people that were just being peaceful that i was
01:01:34.700 in shock for a month you got back like your friend took you back to your truck right well so that's
01:01:41.860 what we were going to go do so when I was arrested I asked the police I said what is going to happen
01:01:47.520 to my truck and they said give us your plate and the location of the truck and it will be fine so
01:01:52.880 on my mugshot my plate and my location is there truck description and everything well when he
01:02:01.260 picked me up we went to go back to get my truck as soon as we got back down into Ottawa I went to
01:02:07.900 grabbed my keys and i pulled them out and i realized that the police had gone through my
01:02:12.760 keys and taken every truck key that i had and took it so i had no way to get my truck out of there
01:02:19.500 yeah and and then two days later i watched them live on global smash the truck up while it was
01:02:29.380 on the street the only truck on the street i watched the line go through they wiped the windows
01:02:34.900 they take batons to each side
01:02:39.020 smash the windows out
01:02:40.880 but the window didn't fully smash
01:02:42.880 and then you can see the police officer
01:02:44.640 put something on my back window
01:02:48.000 and then you see a flash
01:02:50.140 an explosive device of some kind?
01:02:53.420 yes, they put some sort of explosive device on it
01:02:57.020 because what happened is
01:02:58.620 what I'm thinking is what happened is
01:03:00.660 their batons could not smash through the window
01:03:04.120 because my driver's side window had three holes about this big in it and what i think is what
01:03:11.320 held that window together was my aftermarket tint so they could not smash through the windows
01:03:17.500 so they exploded it where did you stay uh the the guy that picked me up um he's a i i remain
01:03:28.660 really good friends with him uh he took in four of us anybody that he could but there was four of us
01:03:35.560 that spent the time there and he he had us for two and a half three weeks but what makes that story
01:03:42.940 even better is he let all of us stay in his home and take care of things but a week after so we
01:03:51.980 were there for three weeks a week after this all happened him and his family drove out to bc on
01:03:56.640 vacation so he left all four of us there until we had all of our stuff figured out and took care of
01:04:03.380 us said we're free to get our anything that we need food wise whatever just please take care of
01:04:10.140 yourselves and and they left out to bc wow complete trust in you guys complete strangers and and and
01:04:19.080 there was i was the only white guy what a bunch of racists right there was a guatemalan there was
01:04:28.020 uh two the the two east indians and then another guy i i don't even i think he
01:04:35.500 southeast asian or something i'm not 100 sure but left all of us in his home and and and obviously
01:04:42.700 there was nothing damage done wise to his home at all but just to that connection that we made
01:04:49.380 with those people and for them to have that trust in us with their entire lives while they went on
01:04:55.700 vacation while we figured our stuff out are you still in touch with all of those people every
01:05:01.340 single one of them wow that's so cool so what did they charge you with i mean you know what
01:05:07.720 you know what i mean that that right there would be a great ending to a great story
01:05:13.300 but there's more they did charge you do you had five charges okay yes so originally four
01:05:21.280 but then months later they put on another mischief so i was originally charged with a mischief um
01:05:29.300 sorry originally three it was a mischief resisting arrest and failure to comply with a court order
01:05:35.460 now two three months later i got a letter from my lawyer in the mail or whatever that said that
01:05:42.800 they had added another mischief charge and added disturbing the peace how did you disturb the peace
01:05:50.360 what was the rationale behind that one what did you do that one i don't know i i did kind of
01:05:56.560 learn where that second mischief charge came from um let's just say uh allegedly the after
01:06:05.440 i signed the paperwork that i wouldn't go into ottawa allegedly they caught me on video in ottawa
01:06:11.880 the weekend after but your truck was still there yes i had i had nowhere to go the the police for
01:06:21.440 or the city of ottawa whoever took the trucks did not answer anybody's phone call for days
01:06:27.800 i mean your property was still there like everything that you had with you was still
01:06:32.280 there you needed to go back and get your stuff yes and even if you didn't need to go back and
01:06:39.420 get your stuff you still had no place to go what are you going to do walk back to London
01:06:43.040 right I I we were in mass confusion of what to do with your bank accounts frozen yes yes where
01:06:51.200 how am I going to get anywhere how long was your bank account frozen by the way um all of my
01:06:58.000 business accounts and my personal accounts were frozen for about five six days my family's farm
01:07:04.680 account that wasn't even involved was frozen for about a week wow they should never ever have been
01:07:15.280 able to do that no so my family was not able to make mortgage payments how how did that go over
01:07:25.140 with the family um there was a time when they so i'm thinking that it got frozen because like we
01:07:33.320 were a four-way mortgage on this on the farm yeah and because i'm kind of tied to it i think it got
01:07:39.260 frozen and and there was a time when there was a lot of unsure of what had happened that my family
01:07:46.680 had said maybe we disassociate me off the account and just have they and i i said no don't do that
01:07:55.000 they're not going to do that again right but they were they were worried that it was going to happen
01:07:59.860 again because of my stance and it never did but now down the road now that they've processed
01:08:06.740 what's actually happened and what the government actually did now they say i can't believe that
01:08:14.280 actually happened to you i can't believe that happened to us do you think that that was just
01:08:19.440 a trial run for what they have planned with all of this digital nonsense coming coming up
01:08:23.720 oh yeah i think that they they i think that they accidentally flex their capabilities
01:08:31.680 yeah um do you think people are going to stand for it doing it again yeah i mean like the the
01:08:41.320 freezing of the bank accounts because that's something that's gotten traction worldwide
01:08:46.220 right you hear joe rogan talk about that stuff and and all of the other big podcasters down in
01:08:52.360 the states and in europe for that matter they're just blown away mystified that they have the
01:08:58.380 capability to do that well not just the capability but like the balls to actually say we're going to
01:09:04.380 freeze your bank account what do you think of that like that is so totalitarian man like that
01:09:09.760 is the worst yeah and and to do it just because you are standing against what the government believes
01:09:16.560 yeah they can just they accidentally i think they accidentally showed what they are capable of
01:09:24.600 at the snap of a finger and and i have friends that do not agree with the convoy they do not
01:09:31.880 agree with anything that it stood for they are pro vax everything but i can tell you that they
01:09:40.080 have reached out and made comments saying i know somebody who got their bank account frozen being
01:09:45.160 me and that is where they went over the line you know interestingly you know they say they
01:09:51.780 don't agree with what the convoy stood for what did they think it stood for what the media says
01:09:58.320 it did really and so they'll take the word over over like of the media over what you say and you
01:10:05.140 were there yep because it growing up always if you wanted to know what was going on you turned
01:10:12.860 on cbc if you looked something up online and it wasn't a cbc ctv article or something like that
01:10:21.340 then it was not true right do you feel that tide turning absolutely yeah i hope so because they
01:10:30.940 they're continue to lie lie lie so you got these five charges and last week they were withdrawn
01:10:38.280 in return for a hundred word essay yes so they after two and a half years
01:10:45.280 well my lawyer had put in a in an affidavit of we now had proof of how long that i was
01:10:55.080 locked up uh with no lawyer access i was denied calls to lawyers i just we had proof of how long
01:11:02.640 i was in there we had proof i had video of them smashing my truck two days later i i had some
01:11:09.520 pretty good um violations evidence so all of a sudden when i was supposed to have trial
01:11:17.420 i think it was september 21st the 18th the friday they called or my lawyer spoke and said
01:11:26.480 they can't find any time in the courtrooms so we're gonna have to postpone it but the
01:11:32.540 crown would like to do an early resolution so i said i'd be willing to hear him out and i got a
01:11:39.120 phone call from the lawyer said the crown is willing to give you a peace bond but you are not
01:11:46.520 allowed to protest gather or rally with any more than 25 people
01:11:52.400 and it's like okay so where do you draw that limit can i when you say protest gather or rally
01:12:02.180 can i go to a wedding of more than 25 people can i go to a protest and when 25 people show up i
01:12:08.480 gotta take attendance and i gotta leave yeah well and also like what is the zone like of these 25
01:12:14.100 people is it within 50 feet of you personally yeah or is it in the room or is it indoor outdoor i
01:12:20.420 mean what if it's outside and there's somebody standing over there who gets mistaken to be a
01:12:24.800 part of your 25 person rally what is it what what if i'm out for dinner and palestine protesters
01:12:31.780 walk by do i have to leave yeah that's stupid how did they come up with this nonsense but
01:12:39.320 they did and so you went along with it because you didn't want to have to go through this anymore
01:12:45.780 no i i i turned it down i said absolutely no way am i like i said i will do a peace bond
01:12:54.380 i am not a criminal i keep i i keep the peace i i have a voice but i i'm not a criminal i said i
01:13:01.200 will do a peace bond but i'm not gonna do i'm not gonna accept anything that restricts my movement
01:13:06.000 or my speech in any any way so they come back with okay we will give you a no restriction peace bond
01:13:13.340 it's a charter breach by the way i i wonder if these people understand that isn't that what
01:13:17.580 your lawyer told you to like you can't stop somebody from speaking right that's what he said
01:13:24.300 he said that is a direct charter violation we will not take that so then they come back with
01:13:30.020 okay we we will do the no restriction peace bond but you have to submit to the crown a 100 word
01:13:37.340 essay explaining the difference between protesting and mischief he said he and my lawyer's laughing
01:13:44.260 his ass off at this point he says i've never heard of this right and and i'm like did i did
01:13:49.640 I just get court ordered homework?
01:14:19.640 We'll be right back.
01:14:49.640 We'll be right back.
01:15:19.640 We'll be right back.
