00:14:23.700 details of which were unveiled during a technical briefing released to reporters today.

00:18:51.520 against protected categories such as gender, race, disability, and others.
00:18:56.160 Amendments to the Canadian Human Rights Act
00:18:58.280 will let anybody file complaints against persons posting so-called hate speech with the Canadian
00:19:03.620 Human Rights Commission. If found guilty, the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal can order those
00:19:08.640 found to violate the government's definition of hatred with fines up to $70,000 and takedown
00:19:14.860 orders for content. Wow. According to the text of the bill, the tribunal has the power to order
00:19:23.980 payments of up to $20,000 for victims of so-called online hate, as well as in order to pay the
00:19:30.380 government $50,000 if the member panel considers it appropriate. You can bet who's going to be
00:19:38.520 on the member panel. Lefties, progressives, probably filled with LGBTQ lobbyists. Oh, 1.00
00:19:49.440 this is terrible. In 2014, a similar provision under the Act dealing with online hate messages
00:19:55.440 was repealed by Stephen Harper after it was found to have violated the freedom of expression
00:20:00.620 rights of Canadians. So we have that chance, I suppose. The Liberals have pledged to reintroduce
00:20:09.320 Section 13, which deals with communication of hate speech over the Internet. It's a discriminatory
00:20:15.540 practice to communicate or cause to be communicated hate speech by means of the internet or any other
00:20:21.060 means of telecommunication in a context in which the hate speech is likely to foment detestation
00:20:26.960 or vilification of an individual or group of individuals based on a prohibited ground of
00:20:32.040 discrimination bill c63's text reads this is the final nail in the coffin of free speech in this
00:20:41.000 country, guys, if this passes. The tribunal will also have powers to hide the identity of those
00:20:49.760 who bring complaints against anybody whom they deem to have posted online hate speech. Additionally,
00:20:54.600 it can compel those who face complaints to not reveal the identity of those involved
00:20:59.240 upon discovery. The commission may deal with a complaint in relation to a discriminatory

00:46:57.460 used to walk around downtown not that i go very often these days anyhow but i never used to walk
00:47:02.140 around downtown even at daylight hours with my head on a swivel the way i do now it's crazy

00:52:46.800 just from season ticket holders but from local businesses as well the team's sponsors the ones

00:52:57.680 business in a relatively smallish city like Winnipeg, population 800, 92,600. If you piss
00:53:05.640 off one medium-sized business or the wrong person with a little bit of money, it gets around fast,
00:53:10.620 and prairie folk have long memories. This also brings me to the pandemic response in Manitoba.
