00:43:30.920 government agencies and NGOs. Investigative journalist Michael Schellenberger

00:43:38.100 was given some behind-the-scenes footage of a Zoom conference between some of these doctors,

00:43:48.260 and we're going to play all three parts of it for you in just a moment. Remember what's going on.

00:43:54.620 Right now, kids as young as 12 years old are going to a doctor, a gender transition clinic,

00:44:00.760 and they're asking if they should get a sex change operation or at least get on the road to one.

00:44:07.440 These doctors will maybe spend five minutes with this teen and then give them a prescription for 0.99

00:44:51.820 wall. And the same would happen for a cisgender kid, right? They'd be like, ew, kids, babies,

00:44:56.120 gross, or the usual SPAC answer is I'm going to adopt. I'm just going to adopt. And then you ask

00:45:00.880 them, well, what does that involve? Like, how much does it cost? Oh, I thought you just like went to

00:45:05.200 the orphanage and they gave you a baby. No, it's not quite like that. That's Dr. Daniel Metzger,

00:45:10.900 and he's talking about the challenge of getting what's known as informed consent

00:45:14.720 from children and adolescents to undergo procedures that will result in their sterilization.

00:45:20.980 Over the last several years, doctors, medical experts, and the media have all said that the

00:45:25.200 best way to help adolescents in distress about their gender is to give them puberty blockers,

00:45:30.740 hormones, and surgeries to align their physical sex with their gender identity.

00:45:36.140 The alternative to doing so, they said, was suicide. But now a new study released last month

00:45:41.500 found no scientific evidence to support the claim that drugs and surgeries prevent suicide among

00:45:46.360 people with gender dysphoria. I agree we should be concerned about children and adolescents

00:45:51.060 experiencing distress about their biological sex. But now there's even more evidence to warrant

00:45:56.880 greater caution in how we treat them. Whistleblowers have given me the internal files from the

00:46:02.620 main gender medicine organization, which is known as WPATH and stands for the World

00:46:08.740 Professional Association for Transgender Health. The WPATH files show surgeons, therapists,

00:46:14.020 and activists discussing internally how to treat people with gender distress.

00:46:18.500 What they show is that what's happening is neither good science nor good medicine.

00:46:22.980 There's a discussion, for example, about the blocking of puberty of a 10-year-old girl.

00:46:28.020 There's a discussion of doing genital surgery on people with schizophrenia and a dissociative

00:46:32.500 identity disorder, which used to be called multiple personality disorder.

00:46:36.640 At the core of medical ethics is getting this informed consent from the people receiving

00:46:41.260 the medicine or from their caregivers.

00:46:43.660 The WPATH files show overwhelming evidence that the professionals within WPATH know they're

00:46:48.580 not getting consent from children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults or from their caregivers.

00:46:54.300 They know that so-called gender-affirming care can result in lifelong complications

00:46:59.340 and sterility, but their patients do not understand the implications.

00:47:03.940 Many patients are unaware that they will lose sexual function, including the ability to

00:47:08.180 experience orgasm.

00:47:09.840 After I received these files, my colleagues and I tried to report on them as we would

00:50:39.860 these doctors who work with this organization talking amongst themselves about how they treat

00:50:47.900 10-year-olds, 11-year-olds with so-called gender dysphoria. And it's astonishing some of the

00:50:55.440 things they say. Remember, these are medical doctors. Do no harm. Listen. I think the thing

00:51:02.240 you have to remember about kids is that we're often explaining these sorts of things to people

00:51:05.560 who haven't even had biology in high school yet. And, and, and I know I've heard others in this

00:51:12.600 kind of a, in this kind of a setting say, well, we think adults are like really slick biologically.

00:51:17.260 A lot of people have very little medical understanding of stuff like that. We just

00:51:22.480 medical professionals and mental health professionals take for granted, but I don't

00:51:26.480 know still what to do for the 14 year olds. The parents have it on their minds, but the 14 year

00:51:31.460 old you just it's like talking with diabetic complications with a 14 year old they don't care

00:51:36.280 they're not going to die they're they're going to live forever right so i think i think when

00:51:41.900 we're doing informed consent i know that that's still a big lacuna um i think the thing you have

00:51:46.340 to remember about kids is the big lacuna so these doctors are more than happy to give these kids

00:53:02.480 have already engaged in some sort of, and this is again with youth, who've already engaged in some

00:53:08.140 sort of medical intervention. And so one of the things I do is I just kind of, I'm sitting with

00:53:15.000 the youth and their parents and I say, oh, well, so tell me more about what you know about that

00:53:19.440 medical intervention. And kind of like what Dan was saying, you know, children and young

00:53:25.100 adolescents, we wouldn't really expect them. It's kind of a developmental, it's out of their

00:53:30.960 developmental range sometimes to understand the extent to which some of these medical interventions

00:53:36.560 are impacting them. We do it. We try to talk about it, but most of the kids are nowhere

00:53:41.620 in any kind of a brain space to really, really, really talk about it in a serious way. That's
